Chapter 35 – How to chase after someone

Chapter 35 – How to chase after someone

Jian Luo’s whole body froze.

He turned his head and saw Lu Shifeng standing at the door. The man in the military uniform was leaning against the door, raising his eyelids and looking at him. His dark eyes were very oppressive.

Jian Luo’s head was buzzing: “Why are you here?”

“What?” Lu Shifeng said slowly, “I can’t be here?”

“……you can.”

Jian Luo remembered that he hadn’t washed up yet and quickly said, “Then I’ll go wash up first.”

The bathroom in the palace was very large, but it is almost brand new, as if no one used it much. Jian Luo quickly washed himself with the toiletries prepared by the servers.

When he came out, the servers outside did not leave.

Lu Shifeng sat beside his bed and glanced at him: “You’re finished?”

Jian Luo looked at this situation and was a little nervous. Looking at Lu Shifeng, he said: “What are you going to do?”

“Come here.”

“Why?”

Lu Shifeng stood up and walked in front of him. The man stretched out his hand and reached down. Jian Luo’s nervous eyes followed them as they tidied up the collar of his shirt for him.

Jian Luo felt nervous.

Lu Shifeng’s fingers were slender as he straightened his neckline before saying, “How old are you that you can’t even wear your own clothes well?”

Jian Luo said innocently, “I wasn’t paying much attention.”

“Okay.” Lu Shifeng said without arguing with him, “Let’s go.”

Jian Luo walked beside him: “Where are we going?”

Lu Shifeng pushed the door open and said, “I’m taking you to dinner.”

“But I still have to go to work.”

“Eat first.”

“……Oh.”

When Jian Luo reached the dining table, there were many dishes laid out from one end of the table to the other and it was almost impossible to see the end of it.

Jian Luo almost didn’t dare to sit down: “So many dishes.”

Lu Shifeng pulled a chair back for him: “The doctor has prepared a nutrition plan for you. Eat some of these, at least.”

Jian Luo sat down and looked at the table.

There was a lot of meat. Almost all of it was meat. The Dark Stars were good at two things, one is grilling food and the other is boiling food.

Occasionally, there were a few strange vegetables in the middle, which were strangely shaped and completely unappetizing.

Jian Luo grabbed the nearest piece of meat and started to eat. He was hungry now, so he wasn’t very picky and ate some of them. While he was eating, he found that Lu Shifeng didn’t move his chopsticks at all.

Jian Luo was very curious: “Aren’t you going to eat?”

“I’m not hungry.” Lu Shifeng had high standards for his food: “You should eat.”

“…”

Fine.

Jian Luo was also not good at forcing others. He ates the food on his own, but because he ate a little too fast, he almost choked.

Lu Shifeng frowned: “You eat slowly, no one will steal from you.”

“I didn’t expect this meat to have been smoked, so I choked.” Jian Luo took a sip from the cup filled with green nutrient solution next to him: “But it’s quite delicious.”

Lu Shifeng said in a low voice, “You can eat it whenever you want, as long as you’re not tired of it.”

“I won’t get the chance to get tired of this.” Jian Luo held the glass in his hand: “When this cub comes out, I won’t have the chance to eat these.”

There were many meanings behind this remark.

Lu Shifeng tapped his fingertips on the table, pretending to be casual, “You can also order it if you want.”

Jian Luo shook his head: “No, it must be expensive. I won’t be able to afford it at home, even if it’s only for a few times.”

Lu Shifeng looked at Jian Luo, the young man who was eating at the table and holding a cup of nutrient solution, drinking the liquid leisurely.

He looked like someone who enjoyed the glory, wealth, and honor of it all, but in his bones, he had never even thought of staying in the aristocracy. Jian Luo still yearned for his own freedom, as if it were only a task to bring the child out. Once the task was completed, he would also withdraw and leave immediately.

“I’m stuffed.”

Jian Luo put down the glass.

Lu Shifeng recovered from his thoughts and stood up: “Let’s go then.”

“En.” Jian Luo followed him and walked outside: “I’m going to the seed cultivating base.”

Lu Shifeng walked steadily and asked, “Do you have to go?”

Jian Luo felt a little strange: “Isn’t it my job?”

“Why do you want to cultivate seeds?” Lu Shifeng’s voice was steady, as he glanced at him sideways: “If it’s for an official ID, I can handle it.”

Jian Luo walked slowly: “It’s not wholly because of that. I’ve wanted to grow peppers myself for a long time.”

Lu Shifeng frowned.

“Did the doc say I can’t overwork?” Jian Luo covered his stomach. He guessed as much: “Then when the seeds germinate and bear fruit, I’ll stop working for a while.”

Lu Shifeng’s furrowed brows loosened a little.

Who knew that Jian Luo would raise his brows and say: “I can live stream at home so it will not be tiring.”

He was thinking that he must find something to do, otherwise he will suffocate in the room every day. While waiting for the cubs to come out, he will still have to work hard in his career!

“…”

The Marshal did not dampen his enthusiasm.

The cloud car was already waiting. The car was fast and steady. They were closer compared to the route he normally took from Peace Paradise, so they would be arriving soon.

Jian Luo waved at him: “Well, I’ll go first.”

Lu Shifeng: “Wait.”

Jian Luo was stunned for a moment. He thought she could run away, but didn’t expect for someone to tell him to wait, so he said, “What’s the matter..?”

Lu Shifeng said in a deep voice, “I will pick you up in the afternoon.”

Jian Luo thought that it would be fine to take a taxi by himself, but when he was about to say that, he saw the eyes of the Marshal again: “Okay.”

This is the predetermined way.

When Jian Luo walked all the way to the shed, he felt weird along the way. How should he say it? He always felt like someone was staring at him. When he walked into the shed, she happened to see Wang Heng.

When Jian Luo walked in, he busied himself with looking at how the pepper seedlings were doing while Wang Heng was next to him was still looking down at the information terminal. Usually, at this time in the past, Wang Heng would always be sarcastic when he saw him.

“Beep, the temperature has been set.”

The temperature-adjusting machine sounded and became quiet again.

Jian Luo started to scan the status of the seeds with the detection instrument. The instrument scanned the soil before turning green: [Everything is normal.]

This is very good. Jian Luo estimated that if nothing else happened, the seedlings would sprout  within two days.

Wang Heng glanced at him: “They’re not dead yet?”

Jian Luo was too lazy to pay attention to him: “Those seedlings of yours are dying.”

“……you!”

Wang Heng was also very angry, but he couldn’t refute anything, because his seedlings were indeed dying.

Jian Luo came over and said, “Do you want me to help you?”

Wang Heng didn’t believe him one bit, but the situation in front of him was a reality he had to face. In the past few days, Jian Luo’s seedlings were getting better and better. They even had the tendency to germinate and burst from the soil, while his plants were almost untraceable.

Jian Luo came over and leaned down: “The temperature of the big vegetables should not be too high, around 25°C is best.”

Wang Heng was suddenly curious: “How did you know this?”

“Do you still need to know this?” Jian Luo said confidently: “This was originally a plant from our planet. The people of our planet must know how to grow them.”

“…”

Why didn’t the previous humans know about this?

Wang Heng wanted to complain a little in his heart, but after considering that Jian Luo had helped him just now because he was not good, he changed the subject instead: “Have you seen the hot search on ligthweb?”

Jian Luo was taken aback: “What’s the hot search?”

“The hot search states that we may have a cub.” Wang Heng’s face showed a proud expression: “The officials have basically confirmed it.”

Jian Luo was in a complicated mood: “This matter is so popular.”

Wang Heng sneered: “You don’t know anything at all.”

“…”

No, I really don’t understand.

“This child proves that we are not a planet destined for extinction.” Wang Heng rarely showed his emotion and he sighed: “This child is our hope. You don’t understand. It is the hope of the entire planet.”

Jian Luo sat down next to him and was really curious: “Then what if you can’t get new life other than this child?”

Wang Heng’s expression changed: “What nonsense!”

Jian Luo shrugged helplessly.

However, his words seemed to give Wang Heng some inspiration. He said: “Since he could conceive a child, this hero who has conceived a child will also become the hope of saving the entire planet. How he conceived a child can also be taught to us. For us, my wife was so excited yesterday that she didn’t sleep well. She always wanted a child and now with this hero, he’s found a way to save us all.”

“…”

No, he did not.

Jian Luo sat on the rocking chair to rest. Suddenly, he also began to fall into contemplation.

Thinking of traditional chinese medicine, his body was different from that of other Dark Stars, so is it possible that his soul did not transmigrate, but it was his entire body that was sent here?

So was it possible that he got pregnant because of his own body? Because he ate rice and drank boiled water like normal people in his era, he was able to become pregnant.

In the same way, if this logic is followed, if the Dark Stars also start to improve their diets, will they be saved?

Wang Heng’s voice came from beside him: “What are you thinking about?”

Jian Luo came back to his senses: “it’s nothing, I’m just thinking about something else.”

Wang Heng decided to ignore him.

Jian Luo’s ideas became more solid the more he thought about it, as he stood next to him. But not all the Dark Stars are drinking nutrient solution. The rich nobles also eat vegetables and meat, but these nobles obviously also had no children too so could it be possible that they must consume the vegetables and rice that come from Earth!?

According to this principle, the planting base on Peace Paradise is simply the Garden of Eden for treating the infertility of the Dark Stars!

Wang Heng was still beside him, thinking: “It would be nice if I could do something for the cub. I don’t know what their situation is now.”

“It’s alright!” Jian Luo said excitedly: “Don’t worry. You are contributing to the world if you grow more vegetables!”

???

You must be mentally ill.

Jian Luo spent most of the morning exploring the remaining cultivable seeds. According to records, there were at least 2,000 vegetable varieties in the freezer.

These varieties even contain onions, ginger and garlic, as well as various vegetables and fruits like watermelon.

It’s a place of happiness!

Wang Heng reminded him not far away: “It’s time to eat.”

Jian Luo responded casually: “Okay.”

He wasn’t too hungry as he ate too much in the morning, so he just wanted to continue experimenting for a while when a figure appeared at the entrance of the greenhouse.

“Luoluo.”

A familiar female voice called out.

Jian Luo raised his head slightly in surprise, and saw Kazuki standing at the door, smiling: “I’m here to pick you up for a trip back to Moonlight. The boss seems to be looking for you for something.”

Jian Luo turned off the information screen: “What’s the matter with the boss?”

Kazuki shrugged, “I don’t know.”

“……Ok.”

After all, it’s just the boss. He was able to get a place here all because of Nie Yan, so it’s better to show him some courtesy, otherwise he won’t be able to continue working.

While sitting in the car, Kazuki always looked at him from time to time. Jian Luo couldn’t take it anymore: “Is there anything on my face?”

Kazuki shook her head quickly: “It’s nothing. I just haven’t seen you for a few days, so I wanted to look at you more!”

“…”

On the other hand,

The person Zhan Wentai sent over to pick Jian Luo up for dinner was in vain. Where was the person in the shed?

The attendant asked a person not far away: “Where is he?”

The guard of the phoenix clan, who had been secretly protecting him, said, “Boss Nie sent someone to pick him up.”

The attendant was disappointed that he didn’t even do anything: “Couldn’t you have stopped him?”

“The order we received was to ensure his safety.” The Phoenix clan’s guard said, “I didn’t want to stop him as he left voluntarily.”

“…”

The attendant gritted his teeth, not knowing what to do.

As the two were chatting, Secretary Jin also walked over slowly. She looked at the person before smiling: “Hello you two, I’m here to pick Luoluo up.”

The attendant turned around: “Who are you?”

Secretary Jin stood up straight and introduced herself: “I’m the secretary of the marshal. You can call me Secretary Jin.”

The attendant was curious: “Then why are you here today?”

“I’m going to pick Luoluo up for dinner.” Secretary Jin had a decent smile on her face: “Please call him for me.”

Oh, it turned out that they were looking for the same person.

The attendant suddenly felt less uncomfortable. He said, “I’m sorry, he has already picked up Moonlight.”

Secretary Jin was taken aback: “Where?”

The attendant repeated it again: “Moonlight.”

“…”

At Moonlight.

The entirety of Moonlight was the most prosperous place on the Dark Star.

When Jian Luo went in, he was still thinking about what Nie Yan wanted him to do, but he was directly taken to the hall where Nie Yan sat. There was a table with various delicacies on it.

Jian Luo stood at the table: “Boss?”

“You’ve arrived?” Nie Yan stood up and pulled a chair for Jian Luo thoughtfully: “Sit down.”

I get afraid when you are like this.

Jian Luo sat down nervously: “Is there a reason you’re looking for me?”

Nie Yan snorted and sat down, “I’ve heard everything about you. Because I was worried about your health, I’ll decided to pick you up for lunch at noon.”

Jian Luo choked: “You didn’t have to.”

“You don’t have to be polite with me.” Nie Yan looked very generous: “You are my employee and you should be taken care of.”

Jian Luo blushed.

All the dishes on the table were very delicate. There were even some dishes that Jian Luo had never seen before. He heard Nie Yan next to him say: “These dishes are all made by the top chefs, especially that one, the golden pig is a delicacy that even the daughters of planet f90 can’t get, and this one…”

Jian Luo just kept listening to Nie Yan introduce how expensive and valuable these dishes are.

Finally, Nie Yan stopped: “Do you understand?”

Jian Luo almost fell asleep, but he replied confusedly: “I understand.”

“…”

Nie Yan sat on the chair, turned the gold ring on his finger, before saying meaningfully: “If money can buy something, there is nothing I can’t get.”

Jian Luo dealt with it perfunctorily: “It is admiration for you to be rich enough to rival the entire planet.”

Nie Yan’s face was full of shrewdness and a smile formed at the corner of his mouth: “I know you are a smart person, so you must know the weight of this.”

Jian Luo: “I understand. Don’t worry, I will definitely work hard for you.”

“…”

Jian Luo, I am upset at what a blockhead you are.

As the richest man ate the meal, it was full of mixed flavors. The most disturbing thing to him was that Jian Luo did not give a high evaluation after eating, but instead looked a little sad.

Nie Yan: “What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing.” Jian Luo shook his head: “I was thinking, are these what you want to eat?”

The richest man raised the corner of his mouth confidently: “It’s just a few meals not worth mentioning. I’ll have someone pick you up tomorrow as well.”

Jian Luo sighed leisurely: “Thank you for your kindness, but you don’t have to.”

Nie Yan frowned, “Then what are you going to do?”

With this much delicious food, Jian Luo was still not satisfied. What else does he want to eat? Nie Yan didn’t believe that he couldn’t buy it.

Jian Luo said: “I can cook by myself.”

Nie Yan was taken aback.

“These things are delicious.” Jian Luo sighed: “But I still want to eat a proper meal or something.”

Nie Yan: ???

Was there not a single good meal you had out of the table that I’ve bought with a lot of my capital?

After leaving Moonlight, Jian Luo returned to the seed planting base in the afternoon to see his little pepper seedlings. Honestly speaking, after having meat in the morning and also in the afternoon, he was tired of eating meat. Not just tired, but sick of it. Tonight, he didn’t want to eat another meal with meat again.

Ever since he had the cubs, he didn’t know if it was because he was cultivating peppers or something, but he had a craving for spicy food, which he couldn’t have.

He still wanted to eat sour food or something that tastes like that.

But Dark Star doesn’t have it at all. It was all either barbecued or boiled here.

“Ding dong.”

There was a sound from his information terminal.

Jian Luo came back to his senses and opened his message to see a message from Lu Shifeng: “Come out after you get off work.”

Oh, it’s time to go.

Jian Luo packed up. Before leaving, he took a special look at his poor little peppers and wished from the bottom of his heart, praying secretly for his chili peppers to grow up quickly and save his poor palate.

The cloud car outside has been waiting for a long time.

Jian Luo got into the car: “You’re going to take me home?”

“I’m taking you to buy something.” Lu Shifeng looked at the clothes that Jian Luo was wearing and said: “On the way, we’ll get you some items.”

Jian Luo felt very strange: “But I already have them.”

He also had principles, didn’t he? He’s not like a dog, following him wherever he goes. He has to be firm and strong like a man!

Lu Shifeng sat lazily on the sofa in the car seat and said slowly, “You don’t have to repay the money.”

“……Ok.”

The car stopped at the largest department store in the entire Dark Star. It was also Jian Luo’s first time here. He had to sigh: “You actually go shopping?”

After all, shouldn’t the marshal be the cool and arrogant kind of tyrant, letting everything of insignificance be handled ‌by his secretary or just buy everything in the room in one go, instead of slowly choosing whatever you want? Why did you want to go shopping in person?!

Lu Shifeng lowered his eyes and remembered the words of the little emperor:

The little emperor: “Since they are your cubs, you have to take good care of them. Not just materialistically, but also spiritually. Luoluo is not very old and only 20 years old. In your dragon clan, he is very young and still weaning like a baby, so you have to care more about him.”

Lu Shifeng: “If you asked him to speak, he would be satisfied with anything.”

The big dragon should take care of the little dragon like this. No matter what the little dragon wants to eat or what prey it wants, the big dragon must satisfy him. This was what taking care of someone meant.

The little emperor was silent: “I don’t think so.”

Lu Shifeng raised his eyebrows.

“Uncle, maybe you are quite good at fighting, but you are really not good at pursuing and taking care of people. I think, why don’t you go back and ask Secretary Jin?”

Huh?

Marshal Lu scoffed at the little emperor’s proposal.

When he went back, Lu Shifeng stared at Secretary Jin. He almost scared his secretary away: “Um, Marshal, did I do something wrong?”

Lu Shifeng’s handsome face tensed up. It was what the man did every time he encountered a massive problem, but the more he is like this, the more Secretary Jin feels that something was wrong.

“Um…Marshal.” Secretary Jin was very nervous: “Is there anything I haven’t done well recently?”

Lu Shifeng said indifferently, “No.”

Secretary Jin breathed a sigh of relief and asked again, “Then do you need me to do anything?”

Lu Shifeng was silent.

Secretary Jin felt that she had the right idea!

She quickly raced to the finish line: “Don’t worry. If there is anything I can do for you, I will do my best!”

Lu Shifeng lifted his eyelids and glanced at her, as if he was gauging her authenticity. Finally, the man said, “Do you know how to make the kid happy?”

“…”

The kids aren’t even out yet!

Marshal, wake up!

Secretary Jin said hesitantly, “Probably like usual dragon cubs…”

“Not them.” Lu Shifeng interrupted ruthlessly, “Jian Luo.”

Secretary Jin choked up. As an all-around secretary, she couldn’t admit defeat and she definitely couldn’t be ignorant. She thought for a while: “I think he should enjoy shopping in the mall!”

And so, the biased Marshal Lu brought Jian Luo to the mall.

As soon as Jian Luo came in, it was as if a country boy had entered the city: “What is that? How can it still fly? God, is the signboard of that shop made of clay?”

Lu Shifeng: “Don’t run around.”

Jian Luo responded, feeling that his two eyes were not enough: “It’s too amazing.”

When two people walked in front of each other, Jian Luo always almost got separated from him while watching all kinds of interesting things. After this happened several times, Lu Shifeng said, “Hand.”

Jian Luo: “En.”

Lu Shifeng took a step forward and held his hand with his fingers intertwined. The man’s palm was rough while Jian Luo’s was tender. The two hands were held together in unusual harmony.

Jian Luo stood beside him, like a petite daughter-in-law. This kind of mood that seems to resemble a couple shopping together was a bit awkward, even for Jian Luo, so he coughed lightly: “Cough, it’s alright. I can walk on my own.”

“What’s the matter?” Lu Shifeng gave him a slow, dark look. He raised his eyebrows with a hint of confusion in his eyes. After a while, he leaned down and said in a low voice, “Does holding my hand aggrieve you?”

His handsome face widened before his eyes.

Jian Luo’s goddamn face-con attributes began flaring up again. He stuttered and said, “No grievances here.”

“Hello. Here’s your cloud fruit.”

The voice of the staff making the food chimed in.

Jian Luo hurriedly pulled back his hand to hold the cloud fruit. He took a bite of the soft cloud fruit and the embarrassment from holding hands dissipated a lot as he sighed.

Lu Shifeng: “What are you thinking about?”

“I was thinking about the time when I was young.” Jian Luo sighed: “At that time, I only talked to the other casually while holding their small hand. I thought that it might be the beginning of a romance, but unfortunately, after so many years have passed, it turns out that would only be the highest point of that saga.”

In his opinion, it should be normal to talk about a few innocent past loves while he was still a young student.

Unexpectedly, Lu Shifeng narrowed his eyes dangerously: “How many people are you talking about?”

Jian Luo still had his head buried in the cloud fruit, missing the dangerous aura: “Not much. I can’t remember. Let me do the math for a second.”

Chapter 34 – Who will the children go with?

Chapter 34 – Who will the children go with?

Lu Shifeng narrowed his eyes: “What did you say?”

The strong murderous aura and threat could be sensed by even a fool. Jian Luo was a little terrified as he nestled in the chair and almost hugged himself pitifully: “The doctor just said that there is a problem. In case it is a deformity or something, shouldn’t it be aborted?”

The doctor: ???

I’m begging you, I didn’t say it, don’t hurt me.

Lu Shifeng glanced at the poor and helpless doctor next to him again: “Is his problem serious?”

“Cough. From the current point of view, although the dragon cubs have no shell, all the tests indicate that they are normal and very healthy. Compared to the normal size of two-month cubs, the dragon cubs are a little too small.”

Simply put, it was due to malnutrition.

The Dark Stars have been looking forward to the cub for thousands of years. The holy dragon fruit tree couldn’t wait to blossom all over the mountains and fields and everyone couldn’t wait to hold the cub in their hearts.

Lu Shifeng glanced at Jian Luo.

Jian Luo was very innocent: “Can you blame me? You won’t sell the holy dragon fruit, so I wasn’t able to buy it.”

After he said that, he was even a little aggrieved. He lowered his head and didn’t want to look at Lu Shifeng, like a very angry little daughter-in-law.

“…”

Lu Shifeng said in a deep voice, “So you already knew?”

Here it comes again, the relentless questions poking at his soul.

Jian Luo was afraid for a moment, and said vaguely: “Not that early on.”

Lu Shifeng glanced at him again with a cold look and Jian Luo was too cowardly to speak.

The doctor wanted to make the atmosphere a little better, so he said to Lu Shifeng, “Marshal, please. I’m afraid I will have to discuss the rest of the details with you privately.”

Lu Shifeng went out with an “en”.

It was late at night. Apart from the rain outside, the hospital was very quiet. Lu Shifeng was standing by the window in the corridor, very tall.

The doctor considered: “Marshal, since there has never been a case of a human being pregnant with a beast cub, we can only wait and see. At present, we think the best plan is to ensure that the cubs are healthy. Let’s see if we need to take the cubs out and transfer them into the breeding lab alone to cultivate them, so as to ensure that the cubs are getting enough nutrition. After all, you can see that the human body is lacking in nutrients.”

Lu Shifeng looked at the rain falling outside. His handsome face was stern, but he didn’t speak.

“Besides.” The doctor frowned and finally said, “According to the current situation, if our first cub came from a human, it wouldn’t sound very good if we spread it out. What do you think?”

There was a moment of silence in the hallway.

Half a second later.

Lu Shifeng said, “The dragon clan has had no new life for three hundred years.”

The doctor was stunned.

“With your so-called breeding laboratory with test tubes and so-called high-tech. Why has no one from the dragon clan given birth to a little dragon yet?” Lu Shifeng looked at her condescendingly: “Why should I trust you?”

The doctor looked ugly and hesitated: “But even if you don’t believe us…”

Lu Shifeng interrupted her: “If he is malnourished, I’ll try to supplement him with nutrition. If he’s healthy, why should I use you?”

The pressure from her superior was absolute. Lu Shifeng’s aura suddenly turned cold, making the doctor swallow all the words that came from her mouth.

When Lu Shifeng went back, Jian Luo had been cooperating with the doctor to do various examinations.

The person on the chair looked very thin. Probably because he had always been very energetic in the past. After a while, when he calmed down, he only realized that this human being was really weak. With a delicate and fair face, as well as slender limbs. When a needle was stabbed into his wrist, red blood flowed out, but the entire person was quiet and silent.

Lu Shifeng stopped at the door.

The doctor in the room drew some blood and pulled out the needle: “Okay, please take a rest before you go back.”

Jian Luo: “Thank you.”

At the door, Lu Shifeng stepped forward and stood in front of him. There was a sharp contrast between the tall and mighty man and the fragile little human.

Marshal Lu bent down and helped him put on his coat: “Let’s go.”

Jian Luo nodded.

When walking outside, Jian Luo was still rubbing his wrists and gasping for breath from time to time, showing his dissatisfaction with the blood draw earlier.

Lu Shifeng glanced at him: “Does it hurt?”

“Nonsense, of course.” Jian Luo muttered, “Why are the needles so big while my blood vessels are so thin, what did they want to stab?”

The corners of Lu Shifeng’s mouth curled up but the man remained cool: “The size and body structure of Dark Stars are different from those of humans, so the size of the needles will be different. If you hate it, let them change it next time.”

Jian Luo wanted to quit: “There’ll be a next time?”

Lu Shifeng watched him go down the stairs: “I know it hurts. Next time, it’ll be better. If you’re healthy, you won’t need to do it.”

“…”

Was that my business?

Maybe it was because Lu Shifeng was coaxing him, so he became more daring: “You said it’ll be better because you’ll be fine when they’re done. I’m the one who has to suffer.”

It’s not that he’s looking for trouble. It’s really too miserable. When he’s pregnant, he didn’t even have the right to choose if he could keep them or not. And even if nothing was wrong, he still had to get his blood drawn in the middle of the night. Was this humane?

While talking, the two walked to the bottom of the stairs together.

The car was waiting, and a group of soldiers from the Dark Star dragon clan were waiting in the hallway. Their qualifications were no less than for escorting the emperor.

Marshal Lu faced him as he stopped his usual rambling. He was even a little solemn: “As long as you treat them well, it doesn’t matter if you’ll be able to keep them in the future…”

The aforementioned man paused for a bit.

After a long while, Lu Shifeng continued slowly: “I will still take responsibility for you.”

Of all the people present, only Jian Luo didn’t understand how much wealth, power, fame and fortune was hidden behind the sentence.

Jian Luo just pursed his lips hopelessly: “Forget about taking responsibility. Just… just give me a suite.”

In the back, Secretary Jin heard this and her jaw dropped.

She never expected Luoluo to be so simple and unpretentious with no desire for money!

The corner of Lu Shifeng’s mouth curled into a faint smile. He stretched out his slender arm and pinched Jian Luo’s face: “Come on, you can choose any house in the world.”

“…”

If you say something like that, I won’t hurt even if I get the needle.

Jian Luo’s mood improved a lot. Wasn’t there a saying that if you couldn’t refuse, then you should just enjoy it? Wasn’t it the rational thing to do?

Since he couldn’t refuse, he should at least get some benefits for himself. He didn’t want to be a some saint. After suffering so much, he wasn’t about to go back home empty-handed. That would be so stupid.

It was still raining outside.

Lu Shifeng opened the car door for him: “Get in the car.”

Jian Luo bowed in response and got into the car obediently. It was late at night. After sitting down, he said, “Are you going to take me back?”

Lu Shifeng asked him to fasten his seat belt and replied, “Mm.”

“Oh.” Jian Luo nodded and said: “Next time, don’t bring so many people. The people in my family are gossipy.”

Lu Shifeng raised his eyebrows: “Who told you we will send you back to Peace Paradise?”

“…?”

Jian Luo felt very strange: “Otherwise, where would I go?”

Lu Shifeng was righteous: “To my place. Or where do you want to go?”

“Ah?” Jian Luo didn’t accept it for a while: “Are you going today?”

“It’s impossible for your relatives to experience that a second time.” Lu Shifeng’s face sank a little: “Not to mention that Peace Paradise is not very safe.”

“…”

Jian Luo fell silent.

Lu Shifeng said, “If you are worried about your mother, I will ask someone to deal with her.”

Jian Luo thought about it, but couldn’t think of a better solution. According to the current situation, if something went wrong with the dragon cub in his stomach, it was not only his fault. His mother and younger brother may all suffer and be implicated too.

Peace Paradise was indeed not a very peaceful place. He wanted to move out from there for a long time but didn’t he have to be registered to have a permanent residence?

Jian Luo said heavily: “Okay then.”

Lu Shifeng gave a “en” and seemed to be very satisfied with his sensibleness.

There was a moment of silence in the car as Lu Shifeng concentrated on his official business as Jian Luo, who was next to him, contacted Su Liang himself to explain that he would not be going back tonight before dealing with the live broadcast site. After that, he took a look at the time. It was 12:00 in the morning

Jian Luo cautiously glanced at Lu Shifeng next to him. The man lowered his head slightly and was concentrating on his official business. The information light screen was suspended in the air and there were rows of words on it which he couldn’t understand at all.

The inside of the car was silent and the cloud car was completely silent as it was driving.

When they arrived at the destination, Lu Shifeng turned his face away and what he saw was Jian Luo’s fully asleep face. The whole person seemed to be curled up like a small shrimp with his head lowered and the long lashes fluttering on his shut eyelids. His brows furrowed slightly, as if he was seeing something unpleasant in a dream.

The driver turned his head: “Marshal…”

Lu Shifeng made a silent gesture to him, and the uncle driver quickly shut up.

They arrived at the military, the most secure place in the entire empire. Lu Shifeng carried him and walked towards the entrance. The person in his arms was sleeping soundly. But he was more likely tired after running around the entire day. To a certain extent, he wasn’t too prepared for all of this to happen.

Along the way, many soldiers wanted to salute him, but they all stopped after seeing him.

“Beep, successful.”

The bedroom door verified his retina, made a mechanical sound, and slowly opened. Lu Shifeng walked in with Jian Luo in his arms, and put him on the sofa.

Jian Luo woke up a little when he heard the mechanical door speaking.

“Hmm…” He opened his sleepy eyes: “Are we there yet?”

It was a bright and spacious office. Everything seemed right, but there was a big problem.

Jian Luo was dumbfounded: “Where’s the bed?”

Lu Shifeng sat down beside him, frowning: “Do you still need a bed?”

“…”

Dog man.

Jian Luo simply didn’t know how to describe the complexity in his heart. He nodded heavily: “I want to sleep on a bed. Isn’t it difficult for you if you don’t sleep?”

Lu Shifeng was silent: “I’ll have someone prepare one for you.”

Jian Luo choked: “It’s alright. Don’t worry about it since it’s late. I’ll sleep on the sofa first.”

However, the sofa was quite hard. What’s up with the Dark Stars, they don’t know how to enjoy life at all. The sofa should be soft. If it was this hard, they should just sleep on the floor.

Lu Shifeng stood up: “Let’s go.”

?

Jian Luo was very puzzled: “Where are we going?”

“Taking you somewhere with a bed.”

Jian Luo was thinking that it’s okay to have no bed and he could make do without. Who would have thought that Lu Shifeng would already start walking so fast that he couldn’t keep up.

Getting on the cloud car, he began to fall asleep again.

The car quickly arrived, and the palace servants who was guarding outside said, “You are here, His Majesty is already waiting.”

Lu Shifeng said, “Is everything ready?”

The palace man whispered: “Everything is ready.”

On the seat, Jian Luo had fallen asleep again. This time, he slept deeper than the last. He was moved around since one or two in the morning, who could stand it? Lu Shifeng carried him out effortlessly. The waiting palace servants already knew the news long before, and looked at Jian Luo eagerly.

The tall and handsome man was holding a petite human being in his arms, and judging from his body strucutre, he was an adult male.

Lu Shifeng said in a deep voice, “Lead the way.”

The palace servant responded and led the way in front. Although he withdrew his gaze, his mind was still on the eye-catching man in Lu Shifeng’s embrace. Was that petite human being pregnant with a dragon cub? Could he be looking at the vulnerable life who held their entire’s planet’s hope?

“Beep.”

The door’s detector has verified that they may pass.

Lu Shifeng brought Jian Luo into the room prepared inside the palace. The big red curtains covered the windows and the room had a big bed. Although the blood clan usually liked to sleep in coffins, they didn’t like to be lacking, so even if they didn’t sleep in a bed, their bedrooms will also be equipped with a large and soft bed.

When Jian Luo was put down, he woke up in a daze and said to Lu Shifeng, “We’ve arrived?”

“En.” Lu Shifeng told him to lie down: “Go to sleep.”

Jian Luo, who was already sleeping like a log, didn’t want to be too concerned about his whereabouts, he just wanted to continue sleeping.

Lu Shifeng frowned and tugged: “Come out, don’t stifle your breathing.”

Jian Luo shrank into a ball covering his face, ignoring the marshal’s command and even felt a little annoyed.

The palace servant felt a little helpless beside him.

Lu Shifeng didn’t give up, he reached in and tried to pull Jian Luo out, but Jian Luo, who was very sleepy and had a lot of energy not to get up, shifted and took a bite.

“…”

There was a moment of silence in the air.

The marshal’s arms were still stretched out, and there was a distinct tooth mark on it still stained with saliva. The palace servant next to him was amused.

Who would have thought that Lu Shifeng, who was so majestic on the battlefield and frightening to the enemy, could be easily chomped on by such a fragile human being?

Lu Shifeng gave him a cold look, with a dangerous smile on the corner of his mouth: “Is it funny?”

“…”

The palace servant immediately became serious and took out a clean handkerchief to let him wipe himself off: “It’s not funny.”

Lu Shifeng took it.

After the saliva was wiped off, it was thrown back to the palace servant, and Lu Shifeng’s cold expression returned. He said, “I’m going to see the Majesty, over here…”

“Please rest assured. After knowing that you will be coming here, most of the people in the entire palace were arranged nearby to protect the Lord’s safety. His Majesty even sent a personal guard.” The palace servant said quickly: “There will be people here and we will protect him to the best of our abilities.”

Lu Shifeng just nodded and went out.

Early in the morning, the palace was brightly lit. In other words, tonight, in addition to Jian Luo himself, all the Dark Stars who heard the news about the cubs were sleepless all night.

In the conference hall, everyone was already seated.

Nie Yan fiddled with his golden ring. When he saw Lu Shifeng coming in, he said, “Has Marshal Lu found the person?”

Lu Shifeng pulled out a chair and sat down.

Opposite him, there was the high priest Zhan Wentai, who always looked cold and holy when praying and offering sacrifices to God.

The little emperor sat at the front: “I have just received news from uncle, the one with the cub is Luoluo. I think everyone here should know it by now.”

Nie Yan raised his eyebrows: “He’s my employee.”

“He’s an employee of the breeding base.”

Zhan Wentai had to speak to remind him.

Lu Shifeng sneered: “The dragon cub he is carrying is mine.”

The most difficult thing for the little emperor to do was to have a meeting with these three giants. Every time these gods fight, he, from the blood clan, suffers.

“Everyone, listen to me.” The little emperor coughed lightly to attract their attention: “Luoluo’s cub, whether it’s a dragon cub or someone else’s cub, is a cub that we should all protect together. The hospital just reported to me that the cubs are in very bad condition and they analyzed that it is very likely that the cub will be birthed directly.”

Everyone was stunned.

The little emperor pondered: “According to their research on Earthlings, it seems that it takes 10 months to conceive, which is about a year, and that is for a human child. For a small dragon, the incubation period is longer, so it is still conditional. In this case, if it is inside a human, it could take even longer, and they estimate it could be around 16 months or so.”

Everyone was silent.

Half a second later.

Nie Yanxing was relatively straightforward, he was a businessman, and he liked to talk about bargaining chips: “I’ll just say it straight, I think the cubs are better off with me.”

Lu Shifeng lifted his eyelids and looked at him.

“It’s useless to just look at me.” Nie Yan, who was a rich noble, showed a confident smile: “You go out to fight from time to time all the year round. Can you accompany the cubs? Plus, why did you have to bring him here today? The condition of the place you live in is only suitable for your dragon clan to live in.”

Lu Shifeng sneered: “The cub is also a dragon.”

“You are a half-beast, but Jian Luo is not.” Nie Yan said slowly: “The inspection results showed that the three cubs he was carrying had no eggshells, indicating that he was malnourished. Marshal Lu had no experience and no time to take good care of him”

Zhan Wentai rarely reacted, he said: “He is cultivating seedlings on my site.”

“He’s still an employee of Moonlight.” Nie Yan’s mouth twitched into a smile: “I am also obliged to take good care of my employees.”

Little Emperor: “…”

Keeping it simple, while scheming, huh?.

Lu Shifeng sneered: “Now that he is pergnant, does he still have a use at your establishment?”

“Let’s let Jian Luo choose for himself.” Nie Yan continued to look at his gold ring, wondering what he was thinking about: “Not to mention, he and you are not partners.”

Nie Yan’s intention was clear.

Jian Luo and Lu Shifeng didn’t have a marriage certificate. Some time ago, it happened to be the estrus period of the dragon clan, so one could guess how the child came to be.

That is to say, after the dragon cub is born, Jian Luo could completely cut off his relations with Lu Shifeng.

Then, since this was the case, naturally, they had the right to pursue Jian Luo, and whether he wanted a little Pixiu or a little Phoenix, everyone was allowed to compete fairly and at the end of the day, it was up to him.

Lu Shifeng sat lazily on the chair, pretending that he didn’t understand what Nie Yan meant. The man said slowly, “Even if we are not partners now, that may not necessarily be the case in the future.”

“…”

The atmosphere was tense.

The little emperor coughed lightly, intending to extinguish the scent of the demon’s field: “This cub is very precious to the entirety of Dark Star and each of us is obliged to take good care of it.”

Zhan Wentai still had a cold expression on his face: “The fact that he has a special constitution cannot be kept secret from other people for long. He is a human being, and it is hard to prevent other people from blindly seeking out human males to give birth because of this.”

This point was really important.

Some people have been childless for too long, so when the good news has suddenly come out, anything could happen.

Everyone looked at each other.

The little emperor thought about it for a while: “Don’t worry about it. The doctor took Luoluo’s blood and the test showed that he was different from the men in Peace Paradise in all aspects. Being able to conceive should be related to the environment and diet. ‌It is a breakthrough.”

Lu Shifeng directly concluded: “There is no need to worry. According to official statistics in recent years, there have been cases of marriage between Dark Stars and human men, but the succession rate is still 0%. They should know it in their hearts as well.”

“Yes.” The little emperor was very rational about this: “After a while, we will find an opportunity to present it to the people that have a cub, which should be uplifting news to everyone.”

Everyone has reached a consensus on one point.

A meeting was held until dawn and it didn’t end until Jian Luo woke up. In the past, Jian Luo, who had to go to work at 8 o’clock, suddenly woke up.

The sky was bright outside, and the sun was about to shine on his arse too.

Jian Luo suddenly sat up and saw a coffin placed opposite him. His eyes widened, and before he could breath, he swore: “F-ck!”

The servants who had been waiting outside for a long time were shocked.

“Knock knock knock.”

There was a knock on the door.

Jian Luo looked at the door: “Who is it?”

“Hello Lord, we are taking care of you.” The attendant’s voice was warm: “Are you awake, we will be serving you for your bath.”

“…”

‌Where was he?

Jian Luo’s memory ended the moment he fell asleep in the car, so he was completely unclear about the current situation.

He got out of bed carefully: “Come in.”

As soon as he said it, the others rushed in. Because Jian Luo was alone, he was rushed in from both sides as they stood in a line. There were too many of them to count.

The first woman in a maid outfit bowed: “Please let me change your clothes.”

After she said that, she came over. Jian Luo hurriedly ducked before she was about to touch him: “I don’t need it. I’m able to dress myself, I’m pregnant but not dead.”

“…”

The eyes of the others looking at Jian Luo were very complicated.

On the one hand, she thought it was great that he had a cub, but on the other hand, the elegant vampire felt that his manners were too bad. What about good prenatal education? Won’t the cub grow up crooked?

To Jian Luo, the most important thing was: “Where is the Marshal? I’m late for work, can you tell me where the nearest station is?”

While talking, Jian Luo was looking for the bathroom everywhere and he almost tripped over the carpet on the ground in the middle. He didn’t feel anything, but all the servants had their brows raised!

The maid quickly said, “What are you looking for? Can I help you?”

Jian Luo said, “Where is the bathroom? I’m going to take a shower.”

“On the left.” The maid pointed him in the direction and added, “You don’t have to worry. It’s okay to be late, just take your time.”

Jian Luo was still thinking about the attendance award, so he perfunctoryly replied: “I see.”

The maid was afraid that he would fall in a hurry, so she quickly followed behind and said, “You don’t have to go to the station. The marshal will take you there personally, if you want to go.”

“He?” Jian Luo panicked when he thought of Lu Shifeng, that dog man, and simply said, “Forget it, I don’t want him.”

“…”

The room was suddenly silent.

Jian Luo felt a little strange and turned around: “Why aren’t you saying anything…”

As soon as he turned around, he saw the man standing at the door. Lu Shifeng was wearing a military uniform and his posture was straight and tall. He looked at Jian Luo and squinted: “Then, who do you want?”

(Vol.2) Chapter 4 – Xue Qing, you crow mouth!

Chapter 4 – Xue Qing, you crow mouth1Someone who cannot say something nice. It’s even worse, when what they’ve said comes true.!

Xing Zhongwan buried Uncle Zhong’s ashes under the peach tree in the yard. This is what he has always wanted. To live his life in the Xing family. Even after he has died, he still did not want to leave the land he has guarded all his life.

Xing Zhongwan didn’t manage to see the old man for one last time. When he arrived, Uncle Zhong had already passed away. Xing Zhongwan held the funeral of the old man quietly. This old house in Jiangnan has lost its last guardian.

Xing Zhongwan planned to donate the house. When inventorying the old objects, Xing Zhongwan found that there was a yard that had been repaired and was still very new.

“Sir, this yard was struck by lightning last year and more than half of it was burned. Later, someone contacted the experts from the Cultural Relics Protection Association to come and repair it.”

After circling the compound, Xing Zhongwan asked “Do you know who contacted them?”

“I don’t know, I just heard Uncle Zhong mention it by accident. I think his surname was Qi. That gentleman comes to stay for a while every year around the beginning of summer.”

Xing Zhongwan didn’t respond, “I don’t plan to stay in this house anymore. You have worked hard here for so many years. I will make good arrangements for your future life.”

The old servant bowed towards Xing Zhongwan before slowly backing away.

Xing Zhongwan went around his yard and entered the back room. The furnishings were still familiar, along with the familiar smell. He approached the bed and stretched out his hand towards the familiar doll that was still there.

Xing Zhongwan smiled and held it in his hand. It was something his mother made for him. Xing Zhongwan tapped the doll’s forehead, “Come with me too.”

Just as he was about to get up, he found a small note falling out of the small pocket of the doll’s skirt. Xing Zhongwan picked it up.

Life is like a March flower, I will spend my whole life thinking about it.2The flowers that blossom in the spring are fleeting and temporary. But ‘I”, as in, Qi Yun will spend his whole life thinking about it.

Qi Yun is not thinking about flowers. He is referring to the moments that he and Zhongwan shared.

These vigorous and prominent strokes… Xing Zhongwan had seen it before during that absurd farce. At that time, those pale and thin hands solemnly signed their name on the marriage application form.

Why bother? Xing Zhongwan smiled and shredded the note in his hand. It was raining heavily outside when Xing Zhongwan opened the window. As he reached out, the fragments fell on the bluestone slab like snowflakes, before being washed away by the strong wind and rain.

Xing Zhongwan closed the window as his phone rang.

“Laoxing, there is a reception the day after tomorrow. I don’t have time to attend, because I have to go back quickly. Will you go for me?”

Xing Zhongwan refused without thinking, “Just invest money in Qingyuan. I don’t care about other things. I’m going to the Xing family tomorrow.”

Xue Qing was annoyed, “I’m asking you. Qingyuan is your property, right? You’ve been an investor for so many years. Didn’t we discuss this? If you want to see lions, go to see the lions. If you feed pigeons, go to feed the pigeons. It’s been half a year, we’ve already discussed this. I’m so bitter that I’m not married yet. I’m so bitter. What did I do in my last life to know you, such an unconscionable person.”

Xing Zhongwan felt a chill on his back, “Aiya, I’ll go. Even if I go, it won’t succeed anyway, right? Laoniang, please don’t fake cry. When you cry, I feel like the souls of the century-old ghosts in this old house will come out.”

Xue Qing sighed, expressing disdain, “Don’t worry. Zhong Gang and Emma are here. Taking advantage of this opportunity is a good time to draw other contacts if you can show your face.”

Xing Zhongwan yawned, “Show what face? The official person in charge of Qingyuan is not me.”

Xue Qing’s voice became shrill in seconds, “Hey, there is nothing that you can’t solve with your face. For the sake of expansion, you’re the ardent hope of all Qingyuan employees. Big boss, go and sell your face!”

The corners of Xing Zhongwan’s mouth twitched, as he hung up the phone angrily.

After Qi Yun had a meeting, the secretary knocked on the door and came in, “There is a reception tonight, will you be attending?”

Qi Yun flipped through the documents in his hand indifferently, neither agreeing nor refusing.

The secretary has always been very afraid of Qi Yun. He climbed to his current position in his early thirties, while he himself was an old man in his fifties and sixties.

Qi Yun has come this far, not only because of his family background. A chill ran down the secretary’s back when he thought of the tactics he used. This man was someone who could throw his own mother in a nursing home and leave her there alone. He was also someone who did not attend the funeral of his own younger brother when he died. Although it was because of his status, few people have dared to mention this in front of him. However private speculations never did diminish.

The abandoned blind and disabled son, Qi Yun had too many labels on his person. It was a miracle that he could stand up again. After his recovery, there was a big change in the Qi family.

Everyone in Mingli said that he killed his relatives definitively, however, the person in private didn’t seem too cold-blooded or ruthless. Qi Zongcheng was now paralyzed at home and semi-retired, so Qi Yun was already a veritable ruler of the Qi family.

“Young Master Shen may not be able to hold his own for today’s event, so please be sure to attend. The other party seems to be coming over.”

Qi Yun paused while holding the pen in his hand, “Prepare the clothes.”

The secretary breathed a sigh of relief and went out to give a call to the people from the Shen family. When they heard Qi Yun had agreed, the Shen family was relieved. Although Qi Yun took over the Shen family, Qi Yun rarely took care of the business of the Shen family and a professional manager was hired. Fortunately, the Shen family had a brilliant management staff. The group of high-level executives were all Shen Qinghong’s confidants. Although they had some criticisms about Qi Yun, he was still the blood of the Shen family. As their power gradually increased, this group of old men were more refined than foxes, so naturally they hugged Qi Yun’s thigh3To hug a thigh – Hold onto a powerful person in power/ be loyal to them. tightly.

Xing Zhongwan went back to the Xing family. Not to the cemetery, but to the ancestral hall. There were too many spies in the cemetery. The Xing family ancestral hall is different as not everyone could enter.

Xing Zhongwan lit the incense and respectfully kowtowed to his mother and grandfather. When Xing Zhongwan went out, he happened to meet Xing Zhengping who came in a hurry.

Xing Zhongwan said hello to him, “No one stopped me at the door when I came. You must’ve ordered it, thank you.”

Xing Zhengping frowned, “Qi Yun has come here for you many times.”

Xing Zhongwan nodded carelessly, “According to my current intel. You didn’t tell him about my whereabouts.”

Xing Zhengping looked at him and hesitated, “Since you’re here, you can leave after dinner.”

Xing Zhongwan looked at his watch, “Forget it, I have some bad memories of this house. There is a recent project in Qingyuan. You can take a look and invest in it when you have time.”

Xing Zhengping frowned, “The money you send every year is equivalent to three years of the company’s profit.”

Xing Zhongwan laughed, “It’s all spare money, keep it. In the future, when Xing Zhongjie gets married, give her a thick dowry. With her temper, who would dare to marry her without such a large amount of money?”

Xing Zhengping looked at Xing Zhongwan’s condescending appearance and his heart that wanted to have a proper conversation suddenly became angry, “Can’t you speak more politely?.”

“I wasn’t the one who started talking. It was you who came here.” Xing Zhengping was speechless.

Xing Zhongwan was about to go out when he was stopped by Xing Zhengping, “Remember to come back for your mother’s 50th birthday.”

Xing Zhongwan, who was about to step out, paused before exiting the ancestral hall without answering.

Shen Congxin straightened his bow tie uneasily. He couldn’t talk to the person in charge of Qingyuan in the morning forum, or to be precise, he didn’t even manage to meet with him face-to-face. He was a little anxious thinking of the evening reception. No matter how cheeky he had to be, he was going to go up to ask for a business card.

‘Big cousin, it would be great if you were here, so I could use your name to show off your prestige.’ Shen Congxin sighed for the 25th time when the assistant behind him, who had been following Shen Qinghong in the early years, was now ordered by Qi Yun to attend and ‘babysit’.

“Vice-president, please mind your manners.”

Shen Congxin stood up straight immediately. This baby’s heart felt bitter, but he couldn’t say anything about it.

Before getting out of the car, Xing Zhongwan brushed his hair and found a pair of gold-rimmed glasses to wear. Beside him, Emma’s eyes still looked straight ahead. Even after looking at this face for so many years, it still made one’s heart beat faster.

The two got out of the car when someone walked over quickly and stopped in front of Xing Zhongwan, before greeting him as the boss very politely.

Xing Zhongwan looked at the handsome man standing in front of him and nodded with satisfaction, “Zhong Gang, it’s been a long time. Are your abs still there?

Zhong Gang was about to lift his shirt immediately, but was stopped by Xing Zhongwan, “You are still not good at jokes. You are so straight, unlike the people in the head office.”

Emma quickly looked aside, pretending to not know what he just said.

“In the future, Emma will follow you. Teach her more, I’ll be watching you both well.”

Xing Zhongwan smiled as Zhong Gang’s masculine face showed a rare tenderness, “I hope the boss can fulfill his promise and when the branch is successfully established, transfer me back to the head office.”

Xing Zhongwan patted him on the shoulder, “I will give you two years based on your performance. As long as you can make this company the top ten in the industry, I will transfer you back. Emma is very capable and she can share a lot with you.”

Zhong Gang followed Xing Zhong to the elevator knowingly, “Why did the boss come here in person this time?”

Xing Zhongwan grimaced, “I was forced by Xue Qing to show my face. I don’t know what she was thinking, since you are the official person in charge of Qingyuan and the big boss behind the scenes has always been kept a secret. The woman must’ve gone crazy, saying that the big boss must attend today because there will be a lot of people to come network with me, that it’s my chance to make some contacts for this new company. Why does she have to worry about your connections? Ai, it’s not the first day she’s been trying to get you into drag. You can figure the rest out yourself.”

Although Emma really doesn’t want to purposely eavesdrop on her superiors gossiping, but… it didn’t count if they entered her ears on their own accord, right?

Zhong Gang glanced at Xing Zhongwan with a serious face, “Boss, you should be very clear about my intentions.”

Xing Zhongwan also had a serious face, “Don’t even think about it. Cheng Zhengzhe is a man as straight as steel. He will not become bent.”

Emma unconsciously stepped back in the small space. She suddenly knew too much and was dying quickly!

Zhong Gang’s face sank but soon returned to normal, “Is the boss going to come forward later?”

Xing Zhongwan put on his cufflinks with disgust on his face, “How is that possible? I’ll stay in a corner later. Come find me when you’re both done. Xue Qing has been holding a grudge for a long time. I have squeezed her for so many years and not given her a good holiday. She knows that I do not like this kind of occasion. Zhong Gang, please accept and marry her soon, so that my life can be better.”

Zhong Gang sullenly said, “Boss, I was born bent4gay.”

Zhong Gang and Emma went to socialize as Xing Zhongwan picked a quiet corner and started to use his mobile phone in obscurity.

“I have tried my best. You should replace your target.”

“It’s fun to make the impossible possible.”

“How can someone gay be with you? If you do something to make such a good employee toss me away, I will tear you apart!”

“Don’t worry, Zhong Gang won’t want to leave anymore after a day or two when he misses that sissy.”

“There’s something wrong with this situation. Explain it to me from the beginning…”

“Ai, that sissy bribed me to lead Zhong Gang away. I already took his money, so I have to do it well.”

“That Lao Cheng’s brain was eaten by a dog. Making you seduce gays. I don’t understand both of your thoughts. Let’s just stop talking.”

“Hey, wait. Qi Yun won’t come on such an important occasion today right? The Shen family is under his name after all. You should try to hide so you don’t get caught by him.”

Xing Zhongwan stabbed the screen of his phone viciously, “How is this possible…?”

Before he could finish typing, there was a commotion at the door. Xing Zhongwan raised his head as a group of people came in from the door. He could feel the presence of the man in a black suit standing in the middle after just a glance, even from such a distance.

Xing Zhongwan pocketed his phone before swearing, Xue Qing, you crow mouth!

T/N: Ahahaha!! My mom used to tell me to stop my crow mouth when I was younger, cos I’d just always say what was on my mind. But I mean, there’s nothing wrong with sharing your thoughts… right?  Caw caw  ˏ₍•ɞ•₎ˎ

Chapter 33 – The dragon cubs were found out

Chapter 33 – The dragon cubs were found out

Jian Luo’s stomach hurt really badly.

His hand was clutching the sofa and the veins on his wrist were about to burst out. He took some time to breathe: “Lightbrain, check it out for me. What’s going on?”

The light brain responded quickly: “What happened to you now?”

Jian Luo clutched his stomach and shrank: “…I’m pregnant. Can you find out why I suddenly have abdominal pains?”

Light Brain’s efficiency became faster. It searched its existing knowledge base and finally obtained the best result: “Taking into account your current situation, I have come up with an optimal solution.”

Jian Luo: “What?”

“Contact the child’s father.”

“…”

Jian Luo gritted his teeth and genuinely panicked. He had no prior experience and he didn’t know the procedure after having a child with a Dark Star. He had never taken care of small dragons before and had not even read Dark Star’s parenting guide.

At this moment, was it because he ate something wrong?

Or was there something he shouldn’t have done?

Before, he didn’t even know if he was going to keep the child. Who knew that now, he would be terrified of the problems concerning the child now.

Lightbrain said: “There are many reasons for your abdominal pain and it could be due to the fetus’ aura or because there are some problems with the cub’s health or because it is frightened. To know specifically, it is recommended that you contact a doctor for a detailed examination and consultation.”

Jian Luo was helpless: “Okay.”

When one is cornered to a certain extent, other worries tend to become null. Now, Jian Luo has finally made his decision. He searched through the contact information on his information terminal.

Lu Shifeng…

Lu Shifeng.

He remembered having clearly contacted him before, but Jian Luo had to search for a long time before finally finding the name of the Marshal in the last row.

He pressed the dial button.

The small communication light ball spun around in mid-air and Jian Luo sat up to change his position. After shifting around, the sticker on his body was rubbed off.

Finally, the communication was picked up and the low voice of a man came from there: “Hello.”

At the same time, Jian Luo no longer felt any pain. There was also no soreness in his waist, nor any pain in his stomach. His entire body felt good.

Lu Shifeng waited for a long time: “Yes?”

“…”

Would you be very angry if I said there was no problem now?

Jian Luo was thinking and he hesitated: “It’s not a big deal, I made a mistake, but right…”

“Luoluo!”

A voice came from the door outside: “I just heard a voice from your room, are you okay?”

Jian Luo quickly said, “I’m fine.”

Lu Shifeng on the other side of the call said, “Did anything happen?”

“No.” Jian Luo explained to him again: “Nothing happened.”

“…”

There was a silence between the two.

Half a second later.

Lu Shifeng said, “I’m hanging up.”

Jian Luo gave an “en, and responded, “Okay.”

The phone call ended here.

When the phone call ended, Jian Luo was relieved. Originally, he was all over the place. No matter what happened, he was the one who asked Lu Shifeng for help first. However, now the pain is gone, all his rationality finally returned to him.

Jian Luo lowered his head and suddenly saw a red sticker on the sofa. He had a good memory and was sure that he did not have this thing in his room before, let alone have it on his body.

He flipped the red sticker over and saw a row of small characters on the back: SY

Jian Luo’s face turned cold and he said to Lightbrain, “Help me find out what this red sticker with an SY is?”

Lightbrain searched up this topic.

The results came out soon. Red SY stickers are mainly used to detect pregnancy. However, because most of them are used by humans, they are poorly made. If used improperly, it may affect the pregnant woman.

“…”

Jian Luo squeezed the paper inside his fist.

It couldn’t have been stuck onto him by someone outside. A Dark Star would be the least likely to do this at all, so it must be a member of his own family.

“Bang!”

The door of the room was opened. Jian Luo came out and looked at Su You in the living room who was staring at him in surprise.

Su Liang, who was at the door’s entrance, turned around. When she did so, her face turned pale when she saw the sticker in Jian Luo’s hand.

Su You’s was focused on something else: “Luoluo, it’s red. You really have it!”

Su Liang came over: “What’s wrong?”

“Sister, look quickly. That sticker is red, it’s red. You know what it means?!” Su You took Su Liang’s hand: “Your family Luoluo really has it!”

Su Liang looked at Jian Luo with a little surprise.

Jian Luo was so angry that his chest heaved up and down. His face turned pale: “So you really stuck this on me?”

Su You was also a little embarrassed when she saw Jian Luo’s dark face: “Luoluo, what are you saying? Auntie didn’t mean to harm you…”

“Slap!”

A crisp slap resounded through the room.

Su You looked at her own younger sister in disbelief. She didn’t think that her own submissive little sister would hit her.

Su Liang gave her a push: “I told you not to let you stick it on Luoluo. What are you doing!”

Su You’s eyes widened. She couldn’t believe that her little sister would do anything so she shivered a little and raised her voice: “You dare to hit me!?”

“Why would I not dare?” Su Liang stood in front of Jian Luo: “If something happens to Luoluo, I will never stop going after you!”

“…”

Jian Luo felt a little headache coming.

Just as he was about to speak, the lights in the entire house flickered and there was a broadcast voice on the pillars outside: “Attention all, attention all. We have just received a notice that there will be an inspection troop coming to investigate. Please don’t move outside your homes and do pro-actively cooperate with the higher-up on their investigation work.”

A search?

Everyone was confused.

Only Jian Luo suddenly became nervous: “Troops? Is it someone from the military coming?”

Su Liang also shook her head, but Su You reacted first. She didn’t care that she was in pain after being hit and ran to Jian Luo: “Luoluo, is he coming to see you?”

Jian Luo thought for a bit.

Su You immediately stopped and felt that she probably guessed right: “Who’s child is it, Luoluo?”

Before, she thought that Jian Luo’s child was just an unknown Dark Star.

Looking at it now, it may not be like this. Maybe Jian Luo was pregnant with the cub of some bigshot!

Jian Luo was worried: “Shut your mouth.”

Su You’s face changed. She came over and raised her hand to pull Jian Luo: “Hey, you brat. Watch how you’re speaking with your auntie. Aren’t you…”

“Bang!”

The door was opened and a group of neatly armed soldiers marched in. This was the first time that Su Liang and her family saw soldiers of Dark Star.

They were tall and mighty, fierce-looking and not to be messed with.

Finally, Lu Shifeng’s figure appeared at the door. The man was wearing a tall and straight military uniform, the cold night outside further wrapped him in a layer of icyness. It was still raining outside so Secretary Jin held an umbrella for him behind. As the raindrops ran down the umbrella, it dripped down and wet the ground.

Lu Shifeng said in a deep voice, “Put the umbrella away.”

Secretary Jin quickly folded the umbrella. The group of Dark Stars who were standing in the somewhat narrow space looked oppressive. Jian Luo, who often met with them, dealt with it better. Su Liang and Su You were the ones who found it more difficult, and were almost too afraid to even breathe.

Lu Shifeng stepped forward and walked over.

Su Liang bravely came up and stood in front of Jian Luo as Lu Shifeng stopped in front of her. They looked at each other. The woman had never seen anything like him in her whole life before  and it made her legs go soft.

Jian Luo said, “Mom, it’s alright.”

Lu Shifeng bypassed her and stopped in front of Jian Luo. He looked down at him: “What did you call me earlier for?”

Jian Luo was very afraid: “It’s nothing.”

“Really.” Lu Shifeng’s eyes stopped around Jian Luo’s stomach as he raised his eyebrows: “That scent could be smelt in the whole of Peace Paradise.”

Jian Luo was curious: “What scent?”

Secretary Jin explained: “It’s the smell of the cubs. If there is any danger, the cubs will give off a scent. There is now a lot of noise on the Internet. If it weren’t for the military stopping it, I’m afraid there would be a commission here.”

On Star Online, many Dark Stars were emotional:

“Did some humans do something?”

“I wasn’t sure if it was the smell of cubs, but I’m not the only one who feels it!”

“That’s impossible. Let’s go find out about it together? I’m so worried.”

“As if you’ll be of any use. Let the military or the Majesty investigate further!”

When everyone realized that they wanted to inform the military, the military was already there. Not only were they present at the scene, they had already found the parties involved.

Jian Luo touched his stomach after gaining this knowledge: “So there’s a scent, but I can’t smell it.”

Lu Shifeng squatted down. He was originally wearing gloves on his hands, but he took it off, revealing his well-defined knuckles. The man stretched out his hand and took the pregnancy test paper from Jian Luo’s hand: “Did you buy this?”

Before Jian Luo could speak, Su You next to him said, “I bought it, I bought it!”

In order to get attention, Su You made her voice louder: “It was me who first judged that Luo Luo was in this situation, so I bought him a pregnancy test to help Luoluo test it out, you see…”

The volume of her voice slowly fell as the temperature in the room became colder and colder by one degree at a time.

Lu Shifeng glanced sideways, raised his eyelids and spoke in a dark tone, “Did I ask you something?”

Not everyone could stand after listening to Lu Shifeng’s commands. Afterall, he was a commander who fought on the battlefield all the year round. A commander whose eyes could make thousands of others retreat. Su You’s legs went weak and she took a few steps back before directly falling onto the ground.

Jian Luo was quite honest: “It was indeed her who bought it. However, its poor quality has made the few cubs inside frightened.”

When he heard the words “these few”, Lu Shifeng raised his eyebrows. The cold air that almost froze the room all dissipated. Those who knew him well knew this meant that the marshal had a good relationship with this person.

After Jian Luo finished speaking, he was also a little scared.

To be honest, he was a little afraid that Lu Shifeng would get mad at him or something.

But after waiting for a long time, Lu Shifeng just said, “The car is outside, I’ll take you to check.”

Jian Luo was stunned: “Check?”

“En.” Lu Shifeng asked confidently, “Have you ever done a pregnancy test?”

Jian Luo choked: “No.”

Lu Shifeng said, “Let’s go then.”

“…”

Jian Luo felt that this sudden progress made him a little scared!

Su Liang next to him whispered, “Luoluo…”

“Mom.” Jian Luo stood up, looked around and decided to bite the bullet and introduce him to the other: “This is Lu Shifeng, Marshal Lu.”

Su Liang was stunned stupid.

Jian Luo was all tangled up in this situation. After he woke up, Su Liang clearly warned him not to get involved with the military and Lu Shifeng. At first, he kept his promise well, but he later even became pregnant with cubs in his stomach. He really felt sorry for disregarding the earnest teachings of his mother.

Lu Shifeng turned around and looked at Su Liang.

Su Liang took a few steps back. She was terrified of the military personnel: “You…”

Lu Shifeng, the famous Marshal Lu of the empire nodded very politely to her with a touch of elegance and indifference on his face. He took the initiative to reach out in a discrete and calm voice: “Hello, I’m Lu Shifeng.”

Su Liang stretched out her trembling hand: “I am Luoluo’s mother.”

“I have long wanted to meet you.” Lu Shifeng retracted his hand: “I’ll take him for a maternity check later, you don’t mind?”

Although it was a question, there is a kind of force to it.

Su Liang looked at Jian Luo and saw that Jian Luo was frantically signalling that he’ll be safe: “No, I just happened to have a look too, An, I’ll be back soon.”

Su Liang nodded.

Jian Luo said, “I’ll go and change my clothes.”

Lu Shifeng nodded slightly and let him pass. When Jian Luo left, he saw Su You, who was standing beside him, secretly hiding.

Because she was the only one that dared move, two Dark Stars guarding the periphery caught her.

The soldier said, “Marshal, what will we do with this?”

Lu Shifeng turned around and glanced at Su You: “Bring it back and hand it over to the legal affairs department for trial. Sentence it accordingly for intentionally injuring others.”

Su You was stunned for a moment. She never saw Lu Shifeng being so inhumane before!

Just what was the legal department? It’s a department that judges Dark Stars who have committed crimes and those who enter will have their skins peeled off.

Thinking of this, Su You hurriedly pulled Su Liang, panicking: “Sister, sister, please tell them quickly that it wasn’t just my idea. Didn’t you also know? Besides, I only wanted to test him. What does this have anything to do with the pregnancy test? He’s also my nephew, why is he so fragile..?”

Lu Shifeng’s eyes swept over and glanced at the mumbling woman, which made her shut up. Those blood-red eyes made others tremble.

“You should be glad that he is your nephew.” Lu Shifeng put his gloves back on slowly and said in a lazy voice: “Otherwise, you would not have just entered the legal department.”

The others from the dragon clan also looked at Su You in a negative light. Those who frightened the dragon cubs were the enemies of the whole dragon clan. If it wasn’t for fear of scaring Jian Luo before, they would have wanted to tear her apart.

When Jian Luo came out, the atmosphere outside was a little dignified.

Lu Shifeng glanced at him and frowned: “You’re going to be wearing these?”

Jian Luo simply wore a white shirt with a light green coat outside. Although it wasn’t too cold in this weather, it was still raining outside.

“It should be alright.” Jian Luo felt that there was no problem: “The car is close by right? I’ll get in the car soon.”

When he finished speaking, a coat came down to cover his shoulders. It was the military jacket that Lu Shifeng was wearing and it was still warm. He could still smell that familiar and calming smell from the other’s body which had a unique smell.

Originally, Jian Luo smelled nothing, but now it smelled good for some reason.

Lu Shifeng said, “Let’s go.”

It was still raining outside so Secretary Jin was still holding an umbrella for Lu Shifeng before he said, “Help him.”

Secretary Jin nodded. For the Marshal, she didn’t dare to drench the dragon cubs even if he didn’t command her to do so. These were the little cubs that their dragon clan had been waiting for thousands of years. Although the original dragon clan had their genes replicated, in the past few thousands of years, they have tried and tried again, but always failed every year.

It seems that the heavens were intent on killing the dragon clan and the Dark stars.

It was a shadow that had followed them for hundreds of years.

But now, there was hope for the birth of  real and healthy dragon cubs. They were about to be born, and soon they will have cubs!

No one will dare to say that the Dark Star will go extinct and and no one dares to say that the dragon race will be wiped out, because the entire planet has hope now!

A cloud car was parked outside.

Jian Luo got in the car and Lu Shifeng sat beside him. Before he could get nervous, Jian Luo suddenly remembered: “Oops, I promised to broadcast live.”

Lu Shifeng glanced at him sideways: “Ask for leave.”

Jian Luo was a little annoyed. He opened the information terminal and sighed: “I’ve already disappointed my fans several times. I’m definitely going to lose my fans again.”

Lu Shifeng was certain of this: “It won’t decrease.”

Jian Luo was very curious: “Why?”

“Because no one will have the time to watch your live broadcast tonight.” Lu Shifeng reminded him: “You don’t think they can smell the pheromones too?”

Jian Luo is very strange: “Can the cub’s pheromone travel that far?”

He also thought that he was in Peace Paradise so why did the news travel to the military. Who could explain this to him, was this logical?

Secretary Jin in the front was very anxious. She found it hard to say, but they didn’t come find him because of the pheromones at all. The main reason was because the human they found to taste the holy dragon fruit said that it didn’t taste good after eating it. After the marshal received a call from Jian Luo again, he couldn’t sit still, so he came here directly to find him.

Who would have thought that he would come at the right time coincidentally.

“Why not?” Lu Shifeng calmly said, “To check who’s cubs it is.”

“…”

Be a bit more humble, please.

After taking a vacation from the platform, Jian Luo ate melons on the Lightweb. He originally thought that it was not going to be a hot topic, but who knew that the heat was ridiculously high.

The top searches were:

#Whose cub is it#

#Was it really a cub#

#Who dared harm the cubs#

The number one hottest search was what many of them were discussing. The public generally thinks that this cub’s scent was so widespread that it was definitely the cub of a half-beast and if it was a half-beast, there were only a few that were nobles too.

Everyone had different opinions:

“Ah, ah, is it the little phoenix of the all-mighty priest?”

“Why not dragon cubs.”

“Isn’t it the lucky little Pixiu? Cute!”

“It is also possible that it’s from the little prince of the blood clan~”

Although the child was not their own flesh or blood, The Dark Stars were a relatively united species and very loving towards their own cubs, especially since they were the only cubs after  thousands of years. In the eyes of all Dark stars, no matter what or who it belonged to, they would be considered the entire planet’s babies, so everyone was kind-spirited.

Although they still don’t know where the cub is, everyone was busy all night, actively guessing and thinking.

Jian Luo said, “Would they be disappointed if they knew I was human?”

Lu Shifeng was looking at the urgent message from the little emperor in his hand. When he saw him talking, he turned his eyes and said, “No.”

Jian Luo was very curious: “Why?”

He thought that Lu Shifeng would comfort him with a few words along the way and be nice. Then, it would be a little more tender and sweet. Who knew he would hear the dog man saying:

“Because they are my cubs.” Lu Shifeng’s voice was calm and confident: “No one will dare say anything.”

“…”

Jian Luo fell silent.

Why did he hold out hope?

After the bumpy ride, they finally arrived at the hospital. As soon as they got to the hospital, Jian Luo got out of the car. He thought there was going to be a queue but who knew that the medical staff would be ready.

As soon as they saw Jian Luo get out of the car, everyone looked at them with burning eyes. With those fiery eyes, Jian Luo swore that he had only seen it once when he entered Haidilao1A famous hot pot franchise from China, known for their excellent customer service. Very, very excellent customer service. Also very pricey to eat at. in the 21st century of his previous life.

“How many months have you been carrying?”

A doctor beside him asked Jian Luo.

Jian Luo was stunned. In fact, he had never thought of this before. Who knew that Lu Shifeng would say, “2 months.”

The doctor nodded, smiling, he said to Jian Luo, “Is there any trouble with the cub?”

Jian Luo was honest with the doctor: “Fortunately, there has been no trouble.”

“What good cubs.” The doctor squinted at Jian Luo’s lower abdomen. His attitude could be said to be very good: “Sit here for a while, we’ll perform examinations right away.”

Jian Luo was a little nervous.

It’s not his fault. He’s a man. When will a man ever experience getting a pregnancy test?

Lu Shifeng said, “Nervous?”

Jian Luo nodded: “A little bit.”

“I think you’re very courageous.” Lu Shifeng said slowly: “No one would dare to hide them. You’re too brave.”

“…”

It’s here, it’s here. He’s come to settle the account.

Jian Luo sat down on the chair and broke the news: “I didn’t hide it on purpose. I just didn’t know what to do.”

When he stopped talking, the doctor came in from outside.

What followed was a series of examinations. The more examinations were carried out, the more serious the doctor’s face became. Obviously, the situation was a bit more complicated than it seemed.

Finally, the tests stopped.

This room was surrounded by many top doctors and there was a lot of discussion about Jian Luo’s situation.

Half a day later, the attending doctor said to him, “Mr. Jian, from the results detected by our instrument, the situation between you and the cub is a little more special.”

Jian Luo’s heart sank: “Tell me, I can bear it.”

The attending doctor glanced at Lu Shifeng again and then said, “We found that your body seems to be different from the previous research on the human body. However, because of this, you are able to become pregnant with cubs. The problem now is, generally speaking, the little dragons in this period should be slowly forming eggshells, but yours has not. None of the three little dragons have formed eggshells…”

There was silence in the air.

If they were eggs, they could wait a few months after the eggs are formed before taking them away to incubate them on their own. However, the little dragons now were not egg-shaped and seem to be relying on him, which is very strange.

While everyone was worried, Jian Luo asked weakly: “Well, what should I do? Do you mean to get rid of them?”

“…”

The air became more silent and there was even an inexplicable murderous aura that seemed to slowly spread.

The cowardly Jian Luo raised his head and met Lu Shifeng’s death glare.

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Although the Alpha freshmen in the arena had no intention of teaming up with Lu Jingning, their attention inevitably fell on him. Each one was inexorably curious to see who would be the unlucky one to be teamed up with an Omega.

The whispered chattering continued.

“Ugh, doesn’t anyone want to carry this Omega?”

“What carry? Do you think it’s going to be a normal simulated match? That it’ll be alright to bring someone to sleep and win?”

“I’m not saying that. All the other faculties have more or less some Omegas in them, but there really isn’t one in the Quadruple Faculty, so if we could make an exception to get one in, wouldn’t that be…”

“What’s the point of thinking that? Even if he can slack off and get through this round and get some points today, the pheromone attribute test is tomorrow morning. For an Omega ah, that’s the same as a GG.”

“Anyway, it’s exciting enough to think about carrying an Omega to the top, if you can do it, you can boast about it for four years!”

“Saying it like it’s that easy, if you can do it, go ahead!”

Their discussions were quite enthusiastic, but their bodies were more honest. When Lu Jingning passed by, they all uncharacteristically panicked and avoided him.

On the battlefield, no Alpha would like their teammate to be a soft Omega. Even if that Omega had once finished the 1vs2 challenge, it still wouldn’t change the stereotypes ingrained in their heads.

Lu Jingning was walking without avoiding anyone’s gaze. Under the watchful eyes of everyone, he went straight to Wen Xingchen and greeted him familiarly, “Hey classmate, can we form a team?”

The tone of voice was as normal as if he asked him to join him for dinner in the canteen.

But this man was Wen Xingchen!

In stark contrast to Lu Jingning’s lack of interest, Wen Xingchen was surrounded by people who stood in a line in front of him. They were all nervous and hasty, looking forward to being teammates with this elite new student. It was almost as if they had the word “pick me” written on their faces frantically.

Jian Luan had been standing by with the mindset of watching some drama breakout.

Ever since he was a child, Wen Xingchen, who was not in the least bit popular with the Alphas, was suddenly in a battlefield where he was the one in demand.

He was curiously waiting for Wen Xingchen’s final choice when he heard such a scattered and unmistakable greeting. He turned around and met the face that he had admired and wowed countless times in photos. He opened his mouth in dismay: “Ah, aren’t you that…”

Lu Jingning didn’t pay any attention to him, his eyes fell on Wen Xingchen’s body with a smile. When the other looked back, he smiled even more brightly: “Classmate, on the day of the challenge I felt that you are exceptionally talented and have some chemistry with me. You see, even our completion of the 1vs2 are alike. I believe that after teaming up together we will definitely bond in a different way.”

There was a slight pause at this point and a meaningful smile grew rosier: “What do you think?”

The tone of Lu Jingning’s voice was particularly sincere. Coupled with the vague glint in those eyes, in the eyes of the crowd, the way the two looked at each other like this was nothing short of affectionate, and for a while no one dared to say a word.

An Omega openly stating in public that he has an absolute fit with an Alpha would be considered by all to be blatant seduction if the exams were not imminent.

Wen Xingchen’s eyes narrowed slightly for a few moments.

Next to him, Jian Luan had long since changed his expression to one of emotion, to a vague hint of regret.

The only person he could say that was worthy of the name Omega Killer, Wen Xingchen, had only just begun school and he had somehow actually made one fall for him!

It’s a shame. He thought this Omega would be a different kind of spark. He didn’t expect him to be anything cheap like this.

Moreover, he actually tried to use this method to attract Wen Xingchen’s attention? Did this person not know that the 1vs2 event was actually considered a big loss for Wen Xingchen? After bringing up the sore topic, according to his usual ruthless attitude, he will probably close the door coldly on him!

On the other side, Yu Qingcang’s inner self was throwing a mad hissy fit. Very unlike Jian Luan’s attitude of wanting to watch some drama.

Shit, shit, shit, yes! Please say yes to teaming up!

If he dares to say “no” now, he can imagine the passionate image of Lu Jingning chasing this student after the exam starts, even if he does not do anything.

Save a guy! He doesn’t want to be drawn into this inexplicable battle again, not to mention that Wen Xingchen is an opponent he simply can’t beat!

The atmosphere around them was tense for a while as each of them had their own thoughts.

Wen Xingchen’s eyelashes dropped slightly as he looked at Lu Jingning and opened his mouth with interest, “You seem to know me well?”

Lu Jingning nodded without thought: “I should know you much better than most people by a tad bit. After all, that one-sided encounter at the challenge was destined to bring us closer together.”

The crowd looked at each other.

Did these two have some untold story somewhere they didn’t know about?!

Lu Jingning’s two sentences were that of a challenge, but Wen Xingchen couldn’t hear that he was actually repeatedly reminding him of losing the game on purpose. After a moment of silent staring at each other, he gave a light laugh, “You have a point. Then, let’s form a team.”

In fact, for him, it was the same with whoever he teamed up with. If it wasn’t a mandatory rule for the institution to have teammates, he would even feel good about fighting alone.

At this very moment, there was absolutely no need to upset this bad-tempered-looking Omega over such a trivial matter. Incidentally, it also saved him the trouble of choosing someone else, so he didn’t really have a reason to refuse.

Lu Jingning was of course satisfied with the choice he had made. Just as he had thought before, Wen Xingchen was indeed a wise man who knew what he was doing.

With a sense of satisfaction in his heart, he walked over and skilfully reached out to put his hand on Wen Xingchen’s shoulder, patting it gently in a brotherly manner, “Happy to be working with you, my comrade.”

Because of the use of pheromone blocking agents, Lu Jingning’s body did not have the slightest smell of pheromones. Even so, an Omega’s body still carried a softness different from Alpha’s when it was pressed against one another. Wen Xingchen froze slightly in an awkward manner but did not push the restless hand away: “Happy to be working with you.”

The silence around them made everyone unable to breathe for a while.

Obviously no one expected that these two, Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen, would actually team up together.

Jiang Luan especially, who was standing next to him, felt even more winded.

If he hadn’t seen Wen Xingchen standing with someone with his arms hooked around him with his own eyes, he would have wondered for a moment if he was still in a dream. However, because he knew that this was indeed reality, he somewhat felt unwell as a whole.

After such a shocking revelation, he’s afraid that even if some told him that tomorrow would be the end of the world, he would not be half surprised by it.

It’s just, in his whole life up till now, Wen Xingchen, who never got close to Omegas before was really ready to break his fast!

Jiang Luan stole another glance at Lu Jingning’s face. For a moment, he hesitated a little whether he should get ready to call him his sister-in-law instead.

It didn’t feel right at that time in the dorm. In truth, these two are actually having an affair, right?

Turns out that this person was the one that Wen Xingchen actually likes!

Lu Jingning heard Wen Xingchen introduce his roommate to him and looked back just in time to meet Jiang Luan’s neurotic gaze, “You, fellow classmate, how are you?”

Jiang Luan continued to be dumbfounded: “Nice to meet …… you.”

Lu Jingning: “Uh ……”

This comrade-in-arms looked like he wasn’t too smart.

Could it be that Wen Xingchen hasn’t decided on a team candidate for a long time because he had to drag such a hindrance? Even he had his troubles, it seems.

Beside Lu Jingning, Yu Qingcang stood quietly in an unprecedentedly well-behaved manner. Although he did not say a word, his slightly trembling fists still revealed his inner excitement.

It’s true that good things will happen to you if you follow Lu Jingning! The big boss’ team! He actually managed to blend in and fit into a super big boss’ team!

After the teams had been formed, they all stood in a line as the dean, Gui Liangzhe stood on the podium and looked around with a meaningful smile on his lips, “I declare that this year’s Quadruple Faculty’s Admissions Competition has officially begun! So, please enjoy the good times ahead!”

His words were clearly a blessing, but for some reason, they fell on deaf ears as the new students could not help but feel a chill down their backs.

As soon as the words were spoken, the deafening roar of machinery rang out.

A huge wall of iron suddenly rose from the ground around the training ground, and in the blink of an eye, surrounded the entire area in an airlocked manner.

The light of the sun was completely blocked out, leaving only the light cast from the top as the only source of light in the darkness.

Such a sudden turn of events sent an inevitable wave of panic through all the new students, but it was clear that this was not the end just yet.

The ground of the training area shook vaguely with the sound of stampeding equipment, one after the other.

Several small doors suddenly opened individually in the surrounding concrete walls as a four-metre-tall mech stepped out at a steady pace in each of the four directions, north, south, east and west. They all looked rather shabby from the outside and their build did not seem too sturdy, so they were obviously simple mech models that had been retired from the battlefield long ago.

However, it was more than enough to handle the group of freshmen.

Before the crowd could respond, a voice with a unique mechanical filter came out distantly through the loudspeaker of one of the standing mechs. There was a hint of pleasure in its tone: “Students, welcome to the Quadruple Faculty’s examination site. Today, the seniors will assist you with this sparring assessment. The content of this test is simple. At the end of the day, you will be awarded points in the test based on the number of survivors in your group, so you must do your best! Go on, ‘survive’.”

The sound of restrained laughter spread with a metallic aura across the tightly closed training ground, as the faces of everyone present suddenly grew a few shades whiter.

Although it was said that the content of the divisional assessment was different every year, no one expected that the Quadruple Faculty would actually come up with something this big this year.

It was not a simulated battle, but a real battle royale where one faced the mecha threat firsthand.

It was also clear from this that the Imperial Navy has really never deliberately tried to avoid casualties in any of its assessments.

In the midst of the dead silence around them, a flirtatious voice suddenly rang out, “Senior, is it okay to assault someone?”

The senior in the mech apparently didn’t expect this question to be asked either, and after choking for a moment, looked towards Gui Liangzhe on the podium.

Gui Liangzhe wrinkled his brow and swept a glance at the expectant Lu Jingning in the crowd, the corners of his mouth twitched secretly: “No!”

Lu Jingning let out an “oh” in a tone of obvious disappointment and lowered his head with a sigh.

It was supposed to be the most effective way to reduce the number of competitors by beating others down in advance, but he didn’t expect it to be against the rules. Looks like he’ll have to think of other ways to get a big score to fill the gap from his theory test..

The others looked at him with such overwhelming regret and couldn’t help but curse out the frenzy in their hearts.

Instead of helping each other at a time like this, how can you still think of fighting among ourselves? Where the hell did this crazy Omega come from? Are you the f-cking devil?

Author’s Note: An Omega that doesn’t get into trouble is not a good protagonist~^_^~

T/N: Wow… our Omega MC rlly is satan himself. Hehe, I can’t wait to show you what’s about to happen soon~ Even though our Omega MC may be crazy strong, I like how he also has flaws like being boisterous and loud (he’s super dumb when it comes to theory exams too lol), but hey! Our MC gotta be someone who likes making trouble. How else will the story move in an interesting direction if the MC is nice, quiet and polite? See you all next week!

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

The first major event after the start of the school year is, without a doubt, the branch selection.

The Imperial Sea Military Faculty has four major faculties, namely the Combat Command Faculty, the Imperial Defence Faculty, the Military Mechanics Faculty and the Integrated Warfare Faculty.

The Combat Command Faculty is well understood by most. With its primary objective being the training of commanders in the midst of warfare. Each year, it successfully provides the Ministry of Army with a large number of unified warfare personnel.

The Imperial Defence Faculty, in comparison, focuses more on practical aspects of combat such as close combat and requires students to be extremely physically fit. It is considered the quasi-reserve for the army.

The Military Mechanics Faculty, on the other hand, is dedicated to the development and use of machines such as warship mechs, which often, are at the heart of the future development of the Empire’s weapons and are the backbone in the expeditions carried out by the warship fleets out on the battlefield.

As for the Integrated Warfare Faculty – it is known to all the students of the Imperial Navy University as the Quadruple Faculty. It is also the most special out of all the colleges and as the name suggests, it is a comprehensive training centre for all-round talents who are not only knowledgeable in weapon technology, but also skilled in all kinds of combat and are able to take charge and command on the battlefield. After graduating, they are often qualified and able to enter the army directly as officers.

According to the different attributes of these four faculties, all the new students will need to make the choice that best suits their own condition upon entry.

Of course, there are certain criteria for admission to each faculty. For example, the Integrated Warfare Faculty is very popular, so every year, the number of successful official admissions is often less than one tenth of those who apply.

Lu Jingning naturally also set the Quadruple Faculty as his target, but his housemate, Yan Hebin, who was very sensible, only enrolled in the Military Mechanical Faculty.

“What’s the reason?” Yan Hebin pushed the glasses on the bridge of his nose and gave him a slightly strange look in return, “An Omega’s physique is not meant for practical combat, plus my mechanical skills are quite good.”

According to the past ABO allocation of the Imperial Navy University, the vast majority of the Omegas would prefer the Military Mechanical Faculty like Yan Hebin, or consider the first faculty with a focus on command. Those like Lu Jingning, who are hellbent on going to the Integrated Warfare Faculty are the real outliers.

The two academies for Combat Command and Imperial Defence both involve real combat assignments. That’s why if you pay attention, it is not difficult to find and see that all of them were Alphas there, and there was not even a slither of shadow of an Omega, like a celibate fraternity house.

Lu Jingning listened to him before looking up at the sky and touching the tip of his nose, “Maybe I’ll be the first Omega ever to enter the Quadruple Faculty?”

Yan Hebin: “Oh, good luck with that.”

Lu Jingning: “……” What the hell is with this tone that was full of the perfunctory?

The two left the dormitory and walked all the way to the training square. In the blink of an eye, they had both gone their separate ways because of the different faculties they wanted to join.

The training plaza was segregated according to the different faculties and the prospective students of the Integrated War College were gathered in the fourth field, which was smaller in terms of area, compared to the other fields, but because it had the largest number of new students present, it was particularly crowded.

The overcrowding however, would only be temporary. By the time the selections are over, the vast majority of people here will have been sent to other faculties, leaving only a small group of talented students who have been selected.

The Integrated War College had the smallest number of students of all the colleges, but it was absolutely excellent.

When Lu Jingning arrived, the place was already densely packed with people. The moment he walked in, it was as if the Alphas, who had mostly gathered in groups of twos and threes to chat, had collectively pressed the pause button. They were abruptly and unbelievably quiet for a moment.

Did they just see an Omega in a room full of Alphas?

It was like throwing a soft, sticky lamb into a pile of wolves. All the wolves felt a little evil!

Immediately afterwards, someone in the crowd exclaimed as above.

It was obvious that someone had finally recognised Lu Jingning and the dead silence was broken as everyone began to gather and whisper.

“Isn’t that the same Omega that was on the forum post?”

“Wow, I can’t believe I’m seeing him in person! He doesn’t look like anything special!”

“What do you mean there’s nothing special about him? I think he’s particularly nice, heh heh heh.”

“So much for gimmicks, do you guys really think an Omega can stand up to an Alpha and still be Alpha?”

“Do you think he would agree if I approached him to be friends on our communicator now?”

“An Omega actually wants to join the Quadruple Faculty. This is really swell, isn’t it?”

“Isn’t the pheromone test alone probably going to get him tossed out?”

Lu Jingning, as a sheep that had fallen into a pack of wolves, acted as if he did not feel anything. His eyes swept into the crowd and quickly saw the sturdy figure that could not be hidden even though he was standing in the crowd. He distantly shouted, “Yu Qingcang!”

Like a husky receiving his master’s signal, Yu Qingcang suddenly rushed over with unparalleled precision and arrived at his heels in the blink of an eye: “Yes, yes! My little predecessor, you’re finally here!”

With that, his eyes glanced gleefully towards the crowd he had just been in, raising his head arrogantly and unmistakably.

Just now he told those Alphas that he knew Lu Jingning but they didn’t believe him. Now, see? Do they still have any sense left in them?

Lu Jingning never understood this bizarre actions of Yu Qingcang and lazily extended his hand towards him, “Did you get the information yet?”

Without saying a word, Yu Qingcang took out his communicator and transmitted the information regarding this examination.

Lu Jingning looked at them one by one, and finally, his eyes fell on that last item. He frowned and burst out, “F-ck, military schools require us to take theory subjects?”

Yu Qingcang looked at him like he had seen a ghost: “The purpose of the Imperial Navy University is to train the best officers in the empire, have you ever seen any officer who is illiterate?”

Lu Jingning corrected him, “There is still a difference between not knowing an eight-star language and being illiterate.”

Yu Qingcang: “Since when did you start defending the military ministry too?”

Lu Jingning gave him a look, “No, I’m just defending the future me.”

Yu Qingcang: “……”

He had to admit that Lu Jingning was breathtakingly powerful, but he also had to admit that the man was equally breathtaking in his uselessness when it came to theoretical subjects.

Speaking of the theory exam, Yu Qingcang couldn’t help but feel a little worried: “The exam is tomorrow night, is it too late for you to go back and revise now?”

Lu Jingning: “It’s too late.”

Yu Qingcang: “What then?”

Lu Jingning shrugged indifferently: “What’s the big deal about turning in a blank paper! As long as the marks in the other assessments are high enough, the theory test? Pfft.”

Yu Qingcang only felt that his “Pfft” was full of contempt and disdain.

When he thought of Lu Jingning’s complete confidence that he could enter the Quadruple Faculty even if he gave up the theory test completely, he couldn’t help but look up at the sky again.

Why is it that an Omega was so wild and cool, while he, an Alpha, has to count his score lines on his fingers?

They were both people, but the difference between them was too big!

Just as he was frantically complaining inwardly about the injustice of the gods, he suddenly heard Lu Jingning ask suspiciously, “You say, are all you Alphas sick or something?”

Yu Qingcang: “Lu Jingning, once again, I remind you solemnly about simply cursing others for no reason! What do you mean that all we Alphas are sick? What did any Alpha do to you?”

“Feel free to talk about it, but don’t get too agitated.” Lu Jingning comforted him without going out of his way before pointing around and sneering, “Look for yourself, these people are obviously peeking at me while pretending like nothing happened after they were caught. Why are they looking at me all the time? What’s the matter, haven’t they seen an Omega before?”

Yu Qingcang held back, but still couldn’t resist spitting out, “What does this have to do with whether they’ve seen an Omega before or not? Look for yourself, are there any other Omegas in the room apart from you?”

Lu Jingning looked around and indeed did not see a slither of an Omegas shadow here again. He then sighed without changing his expression, “This year’s Omegas are indeed too undesirable. The Quadruple Faculty is such a good place ah, they didn’t even want to try before giving up.”

Yu Qingcang didn’t even want to talk to him anymore.

That’s not a lack of ambition, that’s a lack of self-awareness!

……

Everyone knew that Lu Jingning was the Omega who had completed the 1vs2 against the seniors during the challenge; after all, his blonde hair was just a little too dazzling.

However, even if we knew that he was really strong in individual combat, they would never have imagined that he would want to join the Integrated Warfare Faculty.

An Omega wanted to be a leader in the army? No matter what the time period was, it sounded like a joke.

Since the establishment of the Empire, only a handful of Omegas have entered the military and even Marshal Teng Hanmo, the highest Omega general at the moment, had initially obtained this status through the merits of a logistician, but was almost always unremarkable during his school years.

Everyone could almost see the good-looking Omega walking out of the training ground with a disappointed look on his face.

A blazing light of the stars spread across the ground, and amidst much anticipation, Gui Liangzhe, the director of the Integrated Warfare Faculty, stepped onto the podium and silence instantly fell around him.

The long speech started and Lu Jingning stood below listening to it, a little drowsy. Only when Yu Qingcang next to him secretly nudged him, did he come back to his senses: “Hmm? Is he finished speaking?”

Yu Qingcang was not surprised by his demeanor and reminded, “The practical exam is coming up soon. It’s a team battle. Four people in a group, what do you think?”

Lu Jingning blinked, “A team competition with four people?”

He looked around the room and everyone else averted their eyes in unison.

As curious as they were, when it came to the real deal, the Alpha freshmen obviously didn’t think Lu Jingning, an Omega, would be able to participate well, and all quickly finished forming their own teams. No one showed any intention of inviting him to join them.

Yu Qingcang wrinkled his brows, “These groupmates, won’t be very easy to find ah…”

The corners of Lu Jingning’s mouth suddenly hooked up slightly as a familiar figure fell into his field of vision: “Not easy to find? Why so?! I have a good candidate right here.”

Yu Qingcang followed his line of sight and vaguely felt that this tall figure was somewhat familiar, and only after a moment did he recognise him.

Shit, wasn’t this the same Alpha who completed the 1vs2 challenge the other day?

Wen Xingchen, the absolute Alpha of the hour among their freshmen cohort!

But how did Lu Jingning know him?

As he was wondering, he turned around and saw Lu Jingning simply straightening his clothes. He was already wearing a big smile as he wandered over.

T/N: ASDF 1… Soo many new and confusing terminology -_-  I’ll write up a new post with all the glossaries inside soon, so that way you can keep referring to it from time-to-time, just in case you forget haha~

I hope that’ll help. I’m also pretty forgetful myself so I believe it will be beneficial to both of us.

ASDF 2… I personally experienced a financial crisis today and almost lost my money just because I was stupid enough to forget the login details and some more. Thankfully, I managed to resolve it and nothing’s lost.

My advise to my dear readers, always always always record your stuff somewhere safe, as well as always use a authenticator app if you can, 2fa is also a very good option. RIP… I might’ve almost ended my tl career (not that it started even haha)

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

The dormitories of the Imperial Navy University were divided into three areas according to Alphas, Betas and Omegas.

Omega students live in the south-western part of the school by the artificial lake, separated from the nearest Beta dormitory by a whole training ground, and further away from the Alpha dormitory area.

The number of Omega’s in the military school is very small, but it is easy to see that the school authorities still took good care of this group, both in terms of accommodation and location.

It’s like being pampered with everything in the palm of your hands.

Even the school rules, which have always been strict, are much more lenient to Omega students, and many of them were specifically designed to protect them, with the intention of making school life better for them.

When he arrived, his roommate was looking at the LCD panel. It was not known what he was studying, but he didn’t even raise his head when the door was pushed open.

The first thing Lu Jingning saw when he walked in was the meticulous back of his head.

It was meticulous because of the delicacy of his hair. He highly doubted that this man had spent an unimaginable amount of time combing his hair.

Each strand of hair was arranged in an incomparably neat and smooth position. In comparison, Lu Jingning’s recklessly flying blonde hair could only be described as wild.

The vacant bed was by the window. Some stellar lighting fell in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, enveloping it in a warm atmosphere.

Lu Jingning set up his suitcase. After that, he went over to greet his new roommate, “Hello, fellow student?”

He gently tapped on his shoulder and the other person sitting at the heel of the table snapped back as he removed his two earplugs, “Ah, hello.”

He had gold-rimmed glasses and a showy look that belongs exclusively to Omegas, as well as dark blue eyes that are rarely seen. It was impossible to tell which planet he was from but he had the overall impression of a high, arrogant cat which appeared alongside ancient books, his every movement carried out with a sense of detachment to the world.

Lu Jingning briefly observed him and smiled as he extended his hand towards him, “My name is Lu Jingning.”

The other party gently shook back, “Yan Hebin.”

The temperature of Yan Hebin’s hand was cold and his entire person gave off an icy cold feeling.

It was clear that Yan Hebin was not the warmest of people, and as for Lu Jingning, he was so sleepy that he didn’t even bother to pack up his things. Instead, he went to bed and slept first.

Before he could sleep for long, there was a knock on the door of his room.

Lu Jingning pulled the covers trying to pretend he didn’t hear it. As a result, Yan Hebin opened the door and the weak voice of the person standing outside came through, squeaking incessantly into his ears, “Um… hello, we are from the dormitory next door. We came to say hello.”

After introducing themselves to each other, Yan Hebin saw the other party glancing inside from time to time, so he turned sideways slightly and pointed to the person who was on the bed: “Are you looking for him?”

The shorter one at the door was Ren Jin, and the taller one was Su Jianian.

Su Jianian sniffed and said in a slightly excited tone, “That …… should be the expert student who beat two seniors in the challenge, right?”

Yan Hebin wrinkled his brows, clearly not quite understanding the meaning of their words.

Ren Jin took his communicator out and quickly pulled up the campus forum posts, introducing him with an adoring face, “It’s him! That’s him! The Omega who completed the 1vs2 at the Freshmen’s Challenge today! Now, the whole campus forum has spread the word! It’s a shame I wasn’t there, he was simply too strong!”

After being spoon-fed new information one after another, Lu Jingning finally couldn’t sleep anymore and sat up sleepily after rubbing his hair, “What campus forum?”

When the two men at the door met his gaze. They subconsciously straightened their backs as their faces suddenly turned red as they bowed in unison, “Hello, how are you? It’s our first time meeting, please enlighten us!”

Lu Jingning: “…?”

He’s not an Alpha, what’s the point of blushing at the drop of a hat?

He climbed out of bed with a yawn. After listening to the two guys, Lu Jingning finally got a general idea.

Not surprisingly, after word got out about his 1vs2 feat at the Freshmen’s Challenge, the entire campus forum of Imperial Navy University exploded.

With the graphic analysis and the videos uploaded one after another, the whole school now knews that this year’s freshmen had an Alpha-killer Omega, who not only outclassed all the other Alphas, but also had first-class combat skills and has directly taken out two of them in the challenge.

And to top it all off, this Omega freshman’s face was also a big hit!

The popularity of the post developed to the point where students who were present at the time and took more photos of the scene realized that no matter which angle he was looked at from, every outline of his face was nearly perfectly proportioned, matching almost everyone’s imagination of the top Omega.

What kind of divine Omega was this to have a pretty face and could also fight at the same time?

Many Alpha users just about went crazy online.

Ouch, ouch, ouch! They were really about to go nuts!

When Lu Jingning reached the end of the page, his expression did not look too good.

What happened to his aspirations of making those Alphas feel the fear of being dominated by Omega? What the hell was going on behind all this?

F-ck, what a pretentious species who only knew how to think using their third leg!

He exited the thread and scrolled up and down the campus forum again, wrinkling his brow in confusion as he asked, “Where’s that Wen Xingchen?”

Ren Jin was puzzled, “Who?”

Lu Jingning: “It’s the Alpha who also completed the 1vs2 and ended up losing at the third station for the sake of …… ahem.”

“Oh oh, you mean him?!” Ren Jin suddenly realized, “I heard about him. There was an Alpha who did complete the 1vs2, but how can he compete with you? Of course everyone’s attention is on you! You’re the first Omega ever to pass the challenge! God, I didn’t even know an Omega could be that good before this! Lu Jingning, how in the world did you do it?”

Lu Jingning listened to him start to sprout nonsense again. He looked out of the window as the words entered his left ear and exited the right, slightly distracted.

Both Ren Jin and Su Jianian could see that he was a little distracted and very sagely sighed before finding an excuse to leave.

After sending the people away, Yan Hebin glanced at Lu Jingning’s expression and asked, “What’s on your mind?”

Lu Jingning was silent for a moment and asked tentatively, “If someone didn’t want to participate in the 1vs3 challenge, what would you say would be the reason?”

Yan Hebin pondered for a moment, “Probably because they don’t want to join the Imperial Sea Patrol.”

Lu Jingning: “The Imperial Sea Patrol?”

Yan Hebin: “You don’t know?”

Lu Jingning shook his head.

“The Imperial Sea Union consists of unique troop members in our school, with influencing power on par to the student council. It is one of the three most powerful organisations on campus, with absolute power of speech. Due to this power, naturally, they are not that easy to join. Strictly speaking, the requirements to join the Union are even more demanding than those to enter the student council.”

He explained patiently, “However, according to the tradition of the Imperial Navy University, any freshman who successfully completes 1vs3 is allowed to become one of them without any conditions.”

“Just because of that?” Lu Jingning only felt more confused as he listened, “Can’t you just refuse after winning the challenge?”

Yan Hebin gave him a faint glance and did not explain, but only said in a calm tone, “The Imperial Sea Union, although it is said to be an internal organization of the Imperial Navy University, the establishment is still subordinate to the Imperial Military Department. To use an analogy, if there is a confrontation or battle in the nearby airspace, the union will be the first group of soldiers from our school to go to the front line.”

When Lu Jingning heard this, he finally understood.

All the students who came to the military university have the ultimate goal of going to war, and when such a great opportunity is presented to them by the Imperial Sea Union, he’s afraid that there is really only one option, and that is to accept it. If they refused, in the eyes of the public, they would be no different from deserters.

But from what he had seen of Wen Xingchen, no matter how he looked at him, he did not look like a coward who was afraid to go into battle.

But this message also made Lu Jingning think of something else – did that old headmaster stop him from fighting in the third round, did it also have this reason behind it?

A sudden invitation to join a group chat popped up on his communicator, causing him to come back from his thoughts.

Lu Jingning casually clicked on the confirmation and by the next second, he was completely overwhelmed by the sheer number of messages.

His entire face was filled with black lines after looking at the group name – Ninety-nine sisters and a single flower.

What the hell?

Although it was only the first day of school, the Omega and Alpha freshmen were very efficient in coming together to form a collective group.

In terms of group chat names alone, the Alpha side of the freshman group were much more rigid, with names like “4A Handsomes”, fearing that others might not know that their goal is to be the most alpha Alphas.

And at this time, the topic of discussion in the group was unsurprisingly, still revolving around today’s Freshmen’s Challenge.

More and more live photos were posted on the fly, and there were a number of private collections that are just much more comprehensive than the ones on the campus forum.

Some people even had the photos pre-processed, and under the light effects, Lu Jingning standing on the field dazzled even brighter than Nakeheng, the brightest star in the galaxy.

All the Alphas felt their feral blood boiling just by looking at his face.

“fvck, guys, don’t stop me, I’m in love!”

“Who’s this and what’s his name? Crap, so alpha. I feel like I can’t hold it!”

“Any more photos? Keep posting, don’t stop. I’m going to build my own private archive!”

“I don’t suppose an Omega of this alpha-ness has a mate yet? Heh heh heh.”

“Don’t hehe, you’re not the only one who likes him. I like him too. The question is, will he even pay attention to you?”

“He’s going to be assigned to a faculty soon, right? I wonder how many campuses he’ll go to, maybe he’ll be my classmate?”

“Stop grabbing him, all of you! He’s mine! Stamped!”

“Geez, you can’t do that! We need to compete based on merit, understand?”

Wen Xingchen was sitting in his dormitory flipping through the latest interstellar magazine. He had already blocked the freshman group the moment he entered it, but his best friend Jiang Luan, who happened to be assigned to the same dormitory as him, was chatting feverishly on the communicator. He suddenly looked up at him and said in a flirtatious tone, “Wen Xingchen, why do you think the other person is so popular while you are unpopular when you also completed the 1vs2??”

Wen Xingchen lifted his eyes from the top of the magazine and glanced over, asking another question instead of answering him, “What do you think?”’

Jiang Luan burst out laughing.

He certainly knews the reason for this.

If you want to blame anyone, you can only blame Wen Xingchen for having a big handsome face that can be called the public enemy of all Alphas.

He was such a perfect and somewhat excessive being that even if he did nothing, he would still be excessively threatening in the eyes of the other Alphas.

In an event like the Challenge, where there was hardly any Omega present, it would be nice if the Alphas didn’t want him to disappear from the scene, not to mention the unwarranted publicity it gave him.

After all, the pressure of being with an Alpha like Wen Xingchen is a little too much and it is something that Jiang Luan, a dear friend who has known him for a long time, obviously experienced more deeply than anyone else.

But what could be done about it? A man like Wen Xingchen was often a deadly poison to the Omegas. An existence destined to make all Alphas envious and jealous.

With that in mind, Jiang Luan fanned the flames and asked with a smile, “How about I go and improve your reputation?”

Wen Xingchen raised his eyelashes lazily, “I can also help spread the word to the Omegas about your glorious feat of having an average of one mate per week.”

Jiang Luan raised his white flag: “I’ll shut up!”

“I’m glad you made the wiser choice.”

Wen Xingchen gave a light smile of approval, opened his communicator and looked at the contents of the group chat that was frantically scrolling down on its own. His eyes narrowed slightly as his eyes finally fell on the name that appeared frequently. A hint of recognition flashed between his eyebrows.

Oh, so his name was Lu Jingning.

Author’s Note: Wen Xingduan: Still want to grab him? Oh, it’s mine now.

(Vol.2) Chapter 3 – I’ll go back right now.

Chapter 3 – I’ll go back right now.

“The big boss is coming over today, you all need to look alive.”

The art director shouted in the office area, holding a stack of documents. The huge office area became as quiet as a chicken, until someone burst out with an exclamation. Everyone then exploded into action, putting on makeup and touching up, as well as tidying up. Some people even took out the dumbbells hidden under their tables and started to train.

The artist director was a white woman in her thirties, but she spoke very fluent Chinese. She covered the corners of her eyes and couldn’t bear to look at them directly.

A hand behind her was put on her shoulders, “Emma? What’s wrong?”

Emma turned around as Xue Qing looked at her with a smile, “We haven’t seen each other for a long time. You’ve become more beautiful again.”

She patted her hand away, “We just saw each other last week. How is that  a long time? Why did you come here today?”

Xue Qing smiled and pointed to the door, “I heard that someone heard the news that the predator is about to return. Aren’t you also in a hurry to get him to sign that? Otherwise, it’ll be difficult to catch him again. Look at your staff, they’re still dreaming of flying up and achieving the impossible.”

Emma took Xue Qing out of the office area, along with the documents in her hand, “It’s understandable since they rarely see the big boss. This time, there are a few newcomers who are not that bad. I just wanted to let the boss take a look. They have some key points that require training. The domestic branch was only recently established, so we must make it an instant hit.”

Xue Qing said with an exaggerated face and her beautiful phoenix eyes, “Oh, your chinese is getting better and better. Do you still remember your english mother tongue?”

Emma looked at her angrily, “Be serious. The momentum of development in China is good now and the establishing branch offices are also becoming successful. This must be done since the domestic market is huge. Repatriation is an inevitable trend. Xue, I am more than an artist director. I plan to take advantage of the boss’s return this time to apply for a transfer. I am willing to go back to China to set up a branch there.”

Xue Qing gave her a thumbs up, “I just like your personality, it’s very suitable!”

A person approached the front desk of the artist center. He was very tall, with bangs on his forehead covering his eyebrows. He also had a pair of large sunglasses hanging on his small face and was wearing an ordinary white shirt with black jeans underneath… along with a pair of flip flops!? Who the hell was this person?

The front desk put on a professional attitude and smiled, “Hello sir, do you have an appointment?”

Xing Zhongwan pulled down the sunglasses on his face, “You’ve already forgotten about me so soon? I haven’t seen you for more than a year and let me see, you’ve already become fat. You’ve gained three pounds, right? Read the staff rules, you should lose weight.”

The front desk had a ghostly expression. The face under those sunglasses made the trained front desk blush immediately as her speech became inarticulate, “Big… Big…big…”

Before she could complete her words, Xing Zhongwan had already entered the elevator with his hands in his pockets.

The front desk hurriedly dialed the phone, “Big…big…big…big…”

“You’re getting a little repetitive. Big what exactly?”

Xing Zhongwan leisurely entered the artist department and met Xue Qing and Emma who were chatting at the door. He then made a silent gesture to Emma.

Entering the work area alone, Xing Zhongwan looked at the first workshop where an enchanting beauty was doing her makeup. She stopped applying her lipstick when she saw Xing Zhongwan.

“Your eyeshadow is too thick. There’s a pimple on your chin, plus your waistline is thick. I can see that the buttons on your work clothes are about to burst.”

The beauty’s hand accidentally drew a bloody mouth on herself using the lipstick.

Xing Zhongwan walked forward, “It seems that you haven’t exercised well recently to keep your body in shape. Your muscles are all loose.”

The man who was lifting the dumbbells went still as the dumbbells fell to the ground with a loud noise. Everyone turned back with a horrified expression, looking at Xing Zhongwan.

Everyone immediately stood up and greeted the big boss.

Xing Zhongwan stepped forward and knocked on the staff code written on the wall, “I haven’t been here for more than a year, and you all became so lazy? Didn’t I mention that you bring artists, and artists are commodities. Since people like you represent the company, how could I strictly ask you to bring out outstanding artists? It’s no wonder that this year’s performance has declined so much, if each one of you relaxed this much. I’m giving you all a month. If you fail to meet the standards of the employee code, you will automatically be required to submit a resignation report to Emma. You can report this to the labor arbitration department if you disagree.”

A girl who was nervous dropped a bag of snacks which spilled out. Xing Zhongwan turned his head to the side, picked it up and glanced at it. The girl was about to cry.

Xing Zhongwan picked up the pen on her desk and pointed to her legs under the miniskirt, “They’re too thick! Reduce them!”

The girl nodded, “Boss, I will definitely meet your requirements within a month.”

The music which played after work sounded at the same time and Xing Zhongwan clapped his hands, “Leave. For those who are not present today, spread the word to them.”

“Emma, Xue Qing. Come into the office with me.” As soon as Xing Zhongwan left, the workspace employees looked at each other and gave a long sigh.

The big boss was still as strict as ever, but he was handsome and good-looking. So what if the employee code was weird? If they could look at the big boss more, they could live two more years. Those who can work here are those who’ve been through tougher tribulations than soldiers, so how could they be willing to leave this easily? Even if the boss’ requirements are a little weird, so what? To jog or go to the gym. What is a single meal compared to this? They’d rather not eat!

All of a sudden, the entire work area was empty. The boss’s orders must be followed strictly, so they were not sloppy at all.

Xing Zhongwan looked at the information on the table. When he saw the last page, his slender fingers couldn’t help but tap twice on the smooth table, “This is what you’re bringing me?”

Emma knew as soon as she heard him that the big boss was dissatisfied, “Actually, these few are not bad. Could you take a look again?”

Xing Zhongwan got up. His long eyes narrowed, “I didn’t believe it at first. After all, you were someone I personally picked. Your department’s failure to provide an adequate answer is an old problem, but I thought you had found a solution. I didn’t expect you to show me this? Emma, I am a little disappointed…”

Xing Zhongwan put on sunglasses and walked out of the office. The sweat on Emma’s forehead started to pour out. Xue Qing walked beside Xing Zhongwan and said in a low voice, “You just returned, don’t be so angry. In fact, I think a few of them are okay. It’s okay to train them…”

“I never waste time on useless people, do I? Sometimes whether they’re able to become popular doesn’t just depend on their appearance.”

Xing Zhongwan walked through the work area to the practice room. There was no one in the empty practice room during lunch time. Just as Xing Zhongwan was about to leave, the soft sound of music came. The corners of Xing Zhongwan’s mouth twitched as he walked around the corner to follow the sound.

Sure enough, there was someone. It was a little boy who looked pretty good from the back.

Xing Zhongwan asked Emma behind him, “Who is he?”

Emma looked carefully, “A child who just signed this year, 19 years old and is of Chinese descent.”

Xing Zhongwan knocked on the glass. The boy with his back towards him turned around and looked at Xing Zhongwan. He was stunned at first, before he then lowered his head with a flushed face.

Xing Zhongwan was also stunned after looking at each other for a short time. Those eyes…

“Why didn’t you include him?” Xing Zhongwan asked very directly.

Emma felt that the boy did not meet the requirements. “There are many aspects of him that did not meet the standards.”

Xing Zhongwan glanced at Xue Qing, Xue Qing understood and lifted the Pointing at his watch, “I don’t think it’s an accident that he’s made it this far.”

Xing Zhongwan smiled, “I like ambitious people.”

Pushing open the door of the practice room, the boy in front of him was nervous, not knowing where to look. Xing Zhongwan raised his chin and asked, “Do you want to be a star?”

Emma escorted Xing Zhongwan to the parking lot. Xing Zhongwan turned around in front of his car. It wasn’t like Xing Zhongwan couldn’t see her frustration, “Emma, you are very capable, but sometimes you will miss a lot by sticking to the rules. When you get there, follow Zhong Gang to learn more.”

Emma raised her head sharply, “Boss, do you mean…”

“I have approved your transfer application. It’s no better here than in China. Without any connections, there are many things that can’t be done. Zhong Gang is the best for this. There is a big cultural difference between the two sides, so there’s still a lot for you to learn. If you want to climb up, I’ll give you a chance.”

Xue Qing drove the car and glanced at Xing Zhongwan, “I say, you didn’t actually like that kid did you? He’s quite ordinary.”

Xing Zhongwan signed before throwing the document in his hand to the back seat of the car, “I’ve signed it. After you send me back, you can kneel down.”

Xue Qing gave him a sad expression as if he was a heartless man with no conscience, “I haven’t seen you for more than a year, so what’s with your attitude? If I hadn’t come here today, where would you be flying off to play?”

Xing Zhongwan tilted his head and glanced at her as the evening light shone on his fair face. He raised his forehead and tied his hair with the leather hairband on his wrist.

“There’s really no need to bring this kind of document for me to sign. You can decide what to do. Why did you make the big boss come all this way?”

“Because I miss you.” Xue Qing winked at him and Xing Zhongwan felt a chill behind him.

“Laoxing, that kid looked a bit like Qi Yun.” Xue Qing said hesitantly, observing Xing Zhongwan’s expression from the corner of her eye. It was good and very calm.

“It’s been almost two years since you came back. Do you want to go back and see your mother?”

Xing Zhongwan didn’t speak as he looked out the window. No one could tell what he was thinking.

“He has risen very fast in the past two years. Qi Zongcheng was willing to give him his life to pave the way. It was like that from the beginning and Qi Yun could still go back to Qi’s house. I heard that he went to Jiangnan to find you.”

Xing Zhongwan did not react so Xue Qing tugged at his white shirt in dissatisfaction, “Did you hear me!”

Xing Zhongwan stretched, “That’s good, it suits him.”

His words didn’t mean anything and Xue Qing became annoyed that she was too lazy to repeat it again.

Xing Zhongwan tilted his body, touching the window with his hand, as a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. This was fine.

In China, after Qi Yun had healed, he settled in the same villa in the suburbs. Qi Yun almost died here, but he still lived here because this was the only place where Wanwan’s presence was still here.

In the middle of the night, Qi Yun often came out of the study and habitually walked into Xing Zhongwan’s room on the second floor. The furnishings inside were all still the same. When one opened the cabinet, there were a few clothes hanging inside. They belonged to Wanwan who didn’t have enough time to bring them back with him. Qi Yun stretched out his hand, thinking about touching them, but not daring to before he quickly closed the cabinet door. Wanwan’s smell still remained on the clothes, but the smell became less and less as time passed.

His insomnia has become more serious in recent years. At night, when he can’t sleep alone, he gets up and walks around the villa, to the kitchen, living room, and dining room… He was looking for the places where Wanwan used to be.

All the servants in the villa were replaced with new ones, so they didn’t know anything about what happened in this villa before.

For their master to be walking around the villa late at night, their initial shock now turned into numbness. In such a person’s home, all they have to do is to keep their mouths shut.

Shen Congxin came out to pour some water for himself when he saw a shadow sitting at the dining table. He almost dropped the cup in his hand, “Big cousin, you have to go to a doctor. Insomnia can be cured.”

Qi Yun was facing Shen Congxin when he raised his eyes and said, “Your small company has collapsed again.”

It collapsed again… collapsed…

Shen Congxin said with a dark face, “Don’t stress that word. I will definitely succeed. Next month, there will be an international high-tech broker forum. The company wants to send someone to attend, are you personally…”

“I’m not going.” Qi Yun rubbed his eyebrows, obviously not wanting to say more. The Shen family had no choice but to move onto the next startup. If it wasn’t because Shen Congxin was really not business material, Qi Yun would have thrown the Shen family to him long ago.

Seeing him like that, Shen Congxin got up and poured another glass of water. Although it wasn’t obvious on the surface, Qi Yun still kept looking for Xing Zhongwan in private.

“I heard that the representative of Qingyuan Capital will also attend this forum. I think I can try it. I have a plan, I…”

Shen Congxin didn’t finish speaking when he saw that Qi Yun had already fallen asleep on the back of the chair.

Qi Yun’s complexion was very bad. He was working hard during the day and couldn’t sleep at night. Even Superman wouldn’t be able to bear it. He was suffering from a heart disease, and only one person could cure him.

It was early in the morning when Xing Zhongwan was woken up by the piercing ringtone of his mobile phone. A slender and strong arm stretched out from the quilt and felt around the bedside for a while. There was a deep sleepiness in his voice, “Speak.”

“Laoxing, old uncle Zhong is seriously ill. I have booked an afternoon ticket for you, you can pack up and fly back to take a look.”

Xing Zhongwan got up abruptly. As the white quilt slipped off, his sturdy upper body could be seen in the morning light.

His eyes were clear, even if there was still a little bit of confusion, “I’ll go back now.”

T/N: Many years will pass very quickly. Time to look forward to what you want to be and start working towards that direction. Holding onto the past will only hold you back… But I hope whatever you’re doing, you are able to find happiness, even if its just a little ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ♡

(Vol.2) Chapter 2 – I’m here, but where did you go?

Chapter 2 – I’m here, but where did you go?

Shen Congxin has already eaten two bowls of rice and had a look of satisfaction on his face, “Uncle, the dishes you cook are really delicious. This shrimp looked so bland, but I didn’t expect it to taste so exceptionally good.”

Uncle Zhong said with a smile, “Then eat more.”

Qi Yun looked at Uncle Zhong who had been standing at the table and pulled out the chair beside him, “Old man, you can sit and eat too.”

Uncle Zhong waved his hand, “The Xing family has strict rules. The servants are not allowed to eat at the table.”

Shen Congxin ate another half bowl of rice in one breath, “What age is this? You’re still talking about old feudalism.”

Qi Yun glanced at him and pointed to the outside, “Go out the door to eat.”

Shen Congxin immediately lowered his face and held his rice bowl. Before he left, he grabbed half a bowl of vegetables and went to the door obediently.

Only then did Qi Yun speak to Uncle Zhong, “This old man should know the purpose of my visit today.”

Uncle Zhong’s eyes swept across the string of beads on Qi Yun’s wrist.

“The young master left you this string of beads. I think he meant for you to let go of your obsessions. Everything has a predestined law, so why should you be so persistent, sir?”

Qi Yun stroked the string of beads on his wrist, “I asked for many things in the first half of my life, but none of them were what I thought they would be. There is only one person who is in my heart and will never be forgotten.”

There was a sudden thundercloud in the sky as Uncle Zhong looked at the dense clouds outside.

“In this season, there are always many thunderstorms. The wind and rain will be heavy. If you don’t mind, you should stay here for one night.”

Old Uncle Zhong took Qi Yun and Shen Congxin into the inner house. All the people Qi Yun brought were sent away by him, but they stayed at the door of Xing’s house and refused to leave.

Shen Congxin opened his mouth and his eyes were full of surprise. “Uncle, this house must have been around for hundreds of years, right? It is so big. Is it the mansion of some prince and noble family? “

Uncle Zhong nodded, “The old man bought it from a nobleman from the previous generation. It was the mansion of a prince of a certain dynasty in the olden days. “

“Do you usually live alone?” “Shen Congxin looked around the place filled with antiques.

“Someone else takes care of it during the day. I’m the only one guarding the house at night. In the front is the yard where the young master always stayed. I clean the place every day, sir. Here is where you’ll rest tonight.”

After speaking, Uncle Zhong pushed open the courtyard door. Qi Yun’s feet froze. When he stepped in, the hand that was beating on his side tightened indistinctly.

Uncle Zhong led them into the main house and as soon as they entered, Shen Congxin covered his mouth. The outer wall of the main house was covered with musical instruments and a few costumes.

Old Uncle Zhong pointed to the top, “The miss was proficient in various musical instruments during her lifetime. After the young master was born, he was taught by the young lady. The old man was a fan of theatre before his death. The young master studied dramas for many years in order to make the old man happy. He is talented and very smart. He always learned things quickly. “

Qi Yun dragged his hand across the spotless desk to feel it. No, Wanwan has always been very smart. A smile was unconsciously brought to the corner of his eyes as he thought of Wanwan. Shen Congxin quickly asked Uncle Zhong, “Uncle, where do I stay?”

Uncle Zhong smiled, “Sir, come with me.”

Uncle took Shen Congxin out and there was only Qi Yun left in the room. Qi Yun went through the screen and went around into the inner room, which was very simply furnished with a canopy bed and a low table. There was a pipa hanging on the wall. Qi Yun took a closer look at everything in the room. His legs that had not fully recovered were a little sore. He walked slowly to the bed and sat down. The bedding was new and had a sunny smell. A hand-made doll was placed at the corner of the bed. Qi Yun picked up the doll and raised his hand to gently touch it before finally flicking the doll’s forehead.

Don’t be naughty, Wanwan. Come out, don’t hide from me.

Qi Yun’s eyes dimmed as he looked at the doll in his hand, fascinated.

Shen Congxin followed Old Uncle Zhong to another room in the courtyard and was about to enter the door when Shen Congxin suddenly stopped at the door of the room, “Uncle, I know you are a good person. Please overlook my cousin who looks like he is going to die. After looking for my cousin-in-law for half a year, he almost went crazy. In order to find him, he is constantly going through rehabilitation. He came here as soon as he got the news that you are not well. If you have news about my cousin-in-law, please let me know. Please, it’s not easy for him these days.”

Shen Congxin was really in a hurry after he came all the way here.

He saw Qi Yun’s struggle. During the day, he went through rehabilitation like he didn’t care about his own life and at night, he stared at a photo that he’s seen many times in the past, in a daze. When he took a peek at it, it was his cousin-in-law in the photo who was still an infant.

Once, he held down his fear and asked Qi Yun, “He’s still a baby, plus you can’t even see his face clearly. What are you looking at it for?”

Qi Yun was silent for a long time before he said a sentence without a proper beginning or end. Only by looking at this could he be sure that he really existed. There was a time when Shen Congxin felt that he was really going crazy. It’s not that he didn’t meet the people who had seen Xing Zhongwan before to recount his appearance. He even found many famous painters, both locally and abroad to draw. However, when they did, Qi Yun said, “It’s not like my Wanwan.”

Every time Shen Congxin went to pay homage to his godmother, he was about to cry. His big cousin was not crazy yet, but he was going crazy. He was told to take care of his big cousin carefully, but did his big cousin need to be watched over? His life was filled with more self-discipline than him. However, as long as it involves his big cousin-in-law who he has never met, he becomes abnormal.

Old Uncle Zhong patted him on the shoulder, “You are also a good boy, so try to persuade him not to be persistent on everything.”

After leaving this sentence, a thunderstorm passed by and the downpour came as soon as he said it would and the rain enveloped the sky and the ground. When Shen Congxin regained his senses, Uncle Zhong had already left with an umbrella.

Wanwan, don’t go! On the bridge, a tall man’s back could be seen walking ahead. Qi Yun wanted to catch up, but every time he was about to reach him, his back disappeared.

Qi Yun looked at the ghost that disappeared right in front of his eyes, along with the words filled with a soft Jiangnan accent in his ears. Qi Yun, why did you lie to me. You won’t be able to find me, won’t find…

“No, I didn’t want to lie to you. I was wrong, Wanwan!”

When Qi Yun suddenly opened his eyes, his body was soaked wet. His flustered eyes gradually regained their clarity as he slowly sat up. There was heavy rain outside the window and the occasional thunder. Even after wiping his sweaty forehead and burying his head between his knees, the cold all over his body seeped into his bone marrow. The person who could help him drive away the cold no longer wanted him.

It was sunny the next morning, as if the rainstorm had never happened last night. Old Uncle Zhong took Qi Yun to the door and handed him a packet of tea, “I grow it at home. If you don’t mind, take it back and try it.”

Qi Yun gave it to Shen Congxin, who was standing to the side, “Since the old man is old. If anything happens in the future, you can find me.”

“You don’t have to, sir.”

Qi Yun said, “Wanwan is not in the country, so I should take care of you on his behalf.”

Uncle Zhong was stunned for a moment, but he didn’t say no.

After speaking, Qi Yun got into his car and carefully looked at the centuries-old house again. After closing the car door, Uncle Zhong bowed down until the long motorcade disappeared in front of him. The old man sighed. The glimmer of hope in the eyes of that gentleman when first arrived disappeared today.

In the car, Shen Congxin asked Qi Yun if he was going to the airport. Qi Yun looked out the window and did not speak. Shen Congxin told the driver to drive slower. Qi Yun suddenly said, “Is there a famous bridge here?” There were several people in the entourage from Jiangnan and as soon as Qi Yun spoke, someone replied that what he said was true indeed.

Qi Yun thought for a while, “Let’s go and have a look.”

There were not many tourists in early summer. Qi Yun was sitting on the boat alone. That person was no longer there. He couldn’t see it back then, but now he couldn’t see the same scenery as that person.

It’s not that he hasn’t found Xing Zhengping, but coercion and inducement won’t pry his mouth open. He only got the same one sentence every time, that the Xing family tree does not have a Xing Zhongwan as a third young master, after saying that he’s got the wrong person.

Qi Yun got off the boat and got onto the bridge. When the pedestrians walked past him, there were always people looking back at him. The surrounding bodyguards swept over and held up an umbrella for Qi Yun to block the sun and others’ curious eyes.

After saying that he was the only one left, Qi Yun made a stop gesture to the bodyguard behind him and walked slowly to the middle of the bridge by himself, feeling unusually calm.

Jiangnan in early summer was a bit sultry and Qi Yun was sweating a little in his formal shirt. Standing in the middle of the bridge, he suddenly felt at a loss. His only clue ended here. The old man refused to tell him anything and Qi Yun could not force him, as he could not do anything else that would make Wanwan unhappy.

Qi Yun’s eyes fell on the Buddha beads on his wrist.

Wanwan, I went back to Qi’s house. Shen Qinghong said to me that only by climbing to a higher position, will I be able to find you.

In the past, I was not following my heart in order to fight for fame and fortune. But now, I will do it to find you.

Qi Yun put his hand on the stone fence of the bridge. Its surface was a little hot from the sun.

The bodyguards followed behind him, neither far nor near.

Yes, there are still a lot of people around me. But they are here for my name and profit. It’s because of fear. Even if it seems like it is very lively by my side, once everything attached to my name on the surface disappears, I’m still all alone.

Wanwan said, “Qi Yun, smile more, you look good when you smile.”

The corner’s of Qi Yun’s mouth twitched with difficulty. After Wanwan left, he never smiled again as the joy that came from his heart was gone.

Qi Yun closed his eyes mockingly and stretched out his hand to feel the warm wind in the past.

I’m here, but where did you go?

T/N: wHERE iNDEED qI yUN?? Hmph, you deserve it for treating our Wanwan badly! Gotta learn ur lesson.

Chapter 32 – The Entire Planet's Hope

Chapter 32 – The Entire Planet’s Hope

Jian Luo was very grateful. He sighed sincerely: “Thank you Secretary Jin. You are such a good person!”

Secretary Jin was shy: “You’re welcome.”

Now I’m waiting on you, Mr Marshal. Just remember to give me a promotion and a raise.

Now that Jian Luo’s goal has been achieved, he is at ease. He doesn’t want to do anything now, all he wants to do is just get the holy dragon fruit and go home to eat it happily.

It’s a pity that Secretary Jin didn’t intend for him to do so.

Secretary Jin said, “Luoluo, shall I take you to get the fruit?”

Jian Luo nodded: “Okay.”

Secretary Jin quickly calculated sneakily in her heart, and if she was correct, the commander should be training the dragons at the moment.

The youngest dragons of the Dragon Clan were now three hundred years old. They were the last batch of genetically compatible test-tube dragons.

After 300 years, no dragons have been reproduced again. With the intention to keep these batches of dragons healthy for long, the marshal will always take time to train the dragons to ensure that there will be some dragons available when they go into the battlefield in the future. The small dragons have sufficient ability to defend themselves.

Dragons are not afraid of death. They are not afraid of fighting because of the scarcity and frailty of their offspring, which only encouraged them to make themselves stronger, invincible and fearless.

“Secretary Jin.” Jian Luo asked her as she walked, “Aren’t you going to send the meal to the marshal first?”

Secretary Jin was taken aback: “Huh?”

‌Aren’t you going to deliver food?

It’s just that you just passed him by along the way.

“Hey, don’t be in a hurry.” Secretary Jin was anxious but she was smart: “The Marshal has a lot of official business to deal with every day so he is busy now. Even if we send it, he won’t be able to eat it.”

Jian Luo nodded in understanding even though he did not understand: “He often goes out to war, right?”

It was a high-risk occupation and countless men wanted it.

Secretary Jin thought about it: “He used, but now they’re basically defeated, there are very few wars now.”

Jian Luo was a little relieved.

The two of them walked forward. Further ahead was a military restricted area. Jian Luo still knew the rules very well so he asked: “Do I have to go further into the Dragon Valley or should I wait here?”

Secretary Jin smiled: “It’s okay, it’s not a core area. You’ll be fine in the periphery.”

Besides, you are close to the most important figure in the entire military, so what was there to be afraid of? There was nothing to be afraid of at all.

Jian Luo could only agree: “Okay.”

Secretary Jin praised her own wit. As long as she was smart enough, she can bring Luoluo to the marshal in a natural way. Just as the marshal trains the small dragons, she will let Luoluo see what a cool and amazing tyrant the marshal was. Then, won’t Luoluo fall in love with the marshal by then?

Plan approved, let’s go!

Jian Luo felt that Secretary Jin seemed to be a bit off, but decided to endure it for the sake of the holy dragon fruit.

The two walked to the floating training platform, and Secretary Jin’s eyes lit up: “Luoluo, look!”

Jian Luo was caught off-guard. Looking sideways, he saw a red dragon spreading its wings and  circling the sky. It raced towards the ground, where a young man was. There was a huge contrast in size between the bodies of the two parties. A person could tell at a glance that the young man had a cold demeanor.

The red dragon approached aggressively, but just as he was about to get closer, the young man jumped into the air lightly, stomped on the red dragon’s head and flipped onto the dragon’s back in mid air. The red dragon was obviously a little flustered. It looked back and saw Lu Shifeng taking out a sharp blade from his belt before throwing it directly at its eyes. Just looking at it would make one’s eye bleed!

“Wuu!”

Before the red dragon could wail, Jian Luo suddenly covered his face. He was so nervous that he didn’t dare move.

Secretary Jin quickly pulled on him: “Luoluo?”

Jian Luo bitterly said, “Your training is too violent…”

Oh my god!

Lu Shifeng, why are you so cruel to the little dragon cubs?

Secretary Jin comforted him: “It’s okay, it’s okay. The marshal has already calculated it. He was trying to scare it. As they can’t turn their back in battle, he is just trying to teach the dragon that their eyes are very vulnerable.”

The battle not far away was also over. The little red dragon was really frightened, whimpering aggrievedly, wuwuwu, you really scared this dragon to death…

Lu Shifeng jumped off its back and looked at Jian Luo before looking at it: “Do you know what went wrong?”

The little red dragon nodded his dragon head lightly.

Lu Shifeng walked to the ground and pulled out the dagger that cut deep into the hard concrete. He raised his hand as the little red dragon leaned over to nuzzle it. Its red scales became a little hot from the fierce battle just now. Lu Shifeng lowered his head. From the side, his face was sharp, but his eyes looked a little gentle when he looked at the small dragon. He said in a deep voice, “Pay attention next time.”

The little red dragon behaved well and rubbed itself against him again.

On the other side, Jian Luo was ready to run away. He quietly said to Secretary Jin, “Aren’t we going to get the holy dragon fruit? Let’s go.”

Secretary Jin looked at him suspiciously: “Since we’ve already seen the marshal, pass him the meal first.”

“…”

After seeing him, I feel nervous.

Jian Luo had ten thousand complaints in his heart, but he couldn’t just take other people’s holy dragon fruit and then beg to leave quickly, right?

Thinking about it, he could only resign and nod: “Okay.”

Just as he was talking, Lu Shifeng stepped onto a suspension bridge in the air and came over. The man may have just had a spar so there were still a few dragon scales on his neck that have not completely faded away. Seeing the scales, Jian Luo recalled the other night, which made him feel a little panicked.

Lu Shifeng’s eyes fell on him: “Do you feel it difficult to come meet me?”

Jian Luo shook his head determinedly: “No.”

“Are you in a hurry?” Lu Shifeng stood in front of him with his military jacket dr4p3d over his strong arms. He looked at Jian Luo: “You seem to want to leave quickly.”

“…”

Where did you hear that from?

Jian Luo bit the bullet: “I’m afraid of disturbing your work. My presence here is also not very good.”

Lu Shifeng flickered his eyelids to look at Secretary Jin.

Secretary Jin felt the murderous aura immediately. Now, she was the one in a hurry as she said quickly, “It’s because Mr. Jian insisted on coming to bring you your meal, that’s why I let him come!”

I’m sorry, Jian Luo!

This is for the greater good!

Jian Luo was stunned when he heard Secretary Jin’s words. He blinked as Lu Shifeng looked at him in a relaxed manner: “Were you the one who requested so?”

“…”

I didn’t.

But in the current situation, it was better to admit it so Jian Luo endured the humiliation: “Yes.”

The corner of Lu Shifeng’s mouth twitched into a smile. His smile made Jian Luo and Secretary Jin both breathe a sigh of relief, but before that sigh could fully be relieved, they heard the man say, “If it’s the case, then stay back and accompany me to eat.”

Jian Luo blanked out for a moment.

On the contrary, Secretary Jin was very relieved. He didn’t expect that the old marshal would suddenly know how to flirt. Seems like he still knew how to make other’s stay. She was about to shed tears.

Jian Luo quickly waved his hand: “No, I have to go back to work later.”

Lu Shifeng: “At Moonlight?”

“No.”

“Do you have a hobby of changing jobs?” Lu Shifeng frowned: “It seems that your job is different  every time I see you?”

Jian Luo: “…I didn’t change jobs.”

Seeing Lu Shifeng still looking at him, Jian Luo felt that it was necessary to clarify himself: “I was sent by Moonlight on a business trip to cultivate seeds at the seed base.”

Secretary Jin’s eyes lit up: “Luoluo, you sure know a lot!”

Jian Luo was a little embarrassed: “It’s okay, I don’t know much about it. I’m only a little better than others at cooking. As for other stuff, I might not be too good at it.”

Lu Shifeng’s tone was very strange: “At Phoenix Stage?”

“It seems so. I heard that the high priest is also nearby.” After seeing some sweat on Lu Shifeng’s face, he took out a clean cloth from his pocket: “Do you want to use this to wipe?”

Secretary Jin’s heart skipped a beat.

After all, she knew that the marshal never used the items offered by outsiders!

Stay cool, Jian Luo.

As she was about to get nervous, Lu Shifeng took the handkerchief. There was a small golden sun embroidered on the handkerchief and a bright little face on the sun. It looked cute and beautiful. He asked in a deep voice: ” You made this?”

“I drew the design.” Jian Luo took no credit: “But my mother embroidered it.”

Lu Shifeng didn’t say anything and accepted it.

Jian Luo was still thinking about the holy dragon fruit and was a little anxious. After all, he was still in a hurry to go back to work, so he looked at Secretary Jin and blinked non-stop, crazily hinting at her.

Secretary Jin: “…Luoluo, are your eyes uncomfortable?”

Jian Luo fell silent.

The corner of Lu Shifeng’s mouth evoked a meaningful smile: “He wants you to take him to get the fruit.”

Secretary Jin was stunned.

Jian Luo was also a little embarrassed. He didn’t expect that Lu Shifeng not only heard it, but also understood him comprehensively.

“Most people don’t like the taste of the holy dragon fruit’s flesh.” Lu Shifeng’s eyes swept around Jian Luo’s stomach, whether intentionally or unintentionally: “Do you like it?”

Jian Luo bit the bullet and said, “Human’s preferences in tastes are different from yours.”

Lu Shifeng was silent for a while before finally saying to Jian Luo, “If you can’t carry it back, I’ll have someone send it to your house.”

Although his voice was indifferent and ruthless, Jian Luo heard a hint of emotion when he listened. He nodded: “Okay, I’ll go back to work first.”

Lu Shifeng: “Go.”

Jian Luo just ran away. He couldn’t run very fast, but his short legs were still able to pull themselves together. Watching his back as he left, Secretary Jin was a little dazed until she heard Lu Shifeng say in a low voice, “What are you looking at?”

Secretary Jin abruptly closed her eyes and hurriedly said, “No, not looking at anything.”

Lu Shifeng glanced at her with a little disgust in his eyes. In the end, he didn’t strike the secretary, only speaking in a low voice, “Go find a human.”

Secretary Jin wondered: “What for?”

Lu Shifeng lifted his eyelids and glanced at her: “Let him try a holy dragon fruit.”

“…”

When the two pairs of eyes met, Secretary Jin’s eyes slowly changed from doubt to shock.

Then, her whole blood seemed to boil as her golden dragon scales emerged uncontrollably. She stammered, “You, do you mean…?”

Lu Shifeng played with the handkerchief Jian Luo gave him in his hand and said in a low voice, “Go pick him a good box of fruits and send it to him. Don’t starve him.”

Secretary Jin stood at attention and saluted, with a high voice she said: “Yes!”

Hey, forget a box. Even if the cubs want to eat the fruits in the entire Holy Valley, they will all be harvested. Regardless, the mother tree will not starve the cubs!

On the other side

Jian Luo squatted next to where the pepper seeds were planted and looked at the sapling.

Wang Heng next to him sneered: “Without nutrient water, the seedlings will not get any nutrition at all. But you were too brave.”

“Nutritional water is definitely good.” Jian Luo sat cross-legged on the small rocking chair: “But nutrient water only promotes the growth of the seedlings. The real good seedlings should be left to germinate in the soil and overcome difficulties with their abilities. Only the ones that germinate and sprout out are the ones that should be allowed to grow tall.”

The corners of Wang Heng’s mouth were twitching: “…such an absurd reason.”

Jian Luo decided not to care about him.

When he was a child, his family lived in the countryside. He was picked up by his adopted parents. He heard that he had been thrown on the side of the road and was almost bitten by a dog. Fortunately, he was brought back before he was bitten.

He had four siblings in his family and he was the youngest, but also the one who worked the hardest.

Luo, not as in descended onto land, but fallen down1Jian Luo is now telling the story of how he got his name in the first place.

Because Jian Luo’s name is 简落 in cn. So the cn character 落 (Luò) can carry multiple meanings.

落地 – descend to the ground (god-sent from above)
落下 – fallen down (failure).

At this time, some of the words he often heard were nothing more than the occasional:

“Get up and cook!”

“Why is it so difficult for you to cook some food!”

“Going to school? Do we look like we have money at home?”

From childhood all the way to adulthood, Jian Luo was best at dealing with meals. It was only because he was able to cook well that he could have a bite of food and not be beaten.

People who grow up in this environment were either willing to degenerate into obscurity or strive to climb up. The cultivated seedlings also followed this line of reasoning.

Jian Luo looked at the seedlings in Wang Heng’s glasshouse: “You are growing Chinese cabbage, but the temperature is a bit high. Chinese cabbage is suited to temperatures at least 25% cooler.”

Wang Heng sneered: “Have you ever planted it? Your tone of voice is very confident.”

Jian Luo, who was on the rocking chair, rocked back and forth as he nibbled on the roasted sweet potatoes he brought from home: “You think I’m trying to boss you around, but I just don’t want another vegetable variety to be extinct because of you.”

Wang Heng looked at him coldly: “Grow your chili peppers first before spouting nonsense.”

Jian Luo saw that he didn’t want to listen, so he wasn’t going to be pushy either.

Ever since he became pregnant, he was very tired and liked to sleep. It was good that he wasn’t at Moonlight. That place was noisy, unlike this quiet place. Besides, there were only two people in the shed and Wang Heng didn’t bother with him so he was also undisturbed here.

In the evening

Jian Luo came home and was going to start a live broadcast tonight. He was fully prepared this time. Since the dragon cub didn’t like the smell of raw food, he would make something plain and eat it with rice noodles. It would be simple, convenient and also delicious.

As soon as he entered through the door, Jian Luo saw his aunt sitting on the sofa.

His aunt glanced at the door: “Hey, Luoluo came back. Auntie was just talking about you. It’s not peaceful outside now, so I’m worried about you.”

Jian Luo came in to change his shoes: “Since it’s not very peaceful outside, auntie, you should go home soon and not hang around outside.”

Su You’s face changed: “This child…”

Jian Luo was too lazy to pay attention to her, but said to Su Liang, “Mom, was there an express delivery today?”

Su Liang, who was busy cooking in the kitchen, came out and asked, “Are you talking about the two boxes? They were sent by someone and are in your room, not opened yet.”

Jian Luo responded with an ‘en’.

He went back to his room and saw a well-sealed cardboard box containing the holy dragon fruits. He never imagined that Secretary Jin would be so generous. Not only did she deliver the promised box, there were even two boxes!

Jian Luo squatted down, took a pair of scissors and started to unpack the outer wrapping. If one didn’t unpack it, the items inside remain uncertain. After unpacking, he found that the packaging was very delicate, keeping a constant temperature and acting as a fresh-keeping box. The whole box was crystal clear:

[Wonderous things can’t last for a long time, but with the Tiny Gold Box, now it can.]

Jian Luo said to the lightbrain of his information bracelet: “What is the Tiny Gold Box?”

After a quick load, the brain answered quickly: “According to the search, the Tiny Gold Box is priced at 120,000 star dollars and is used to store and transport vegetables and fruits that nobles like.”

The lightbrain scanned again: “There are about 15 holy dragon fruits in the box. Roughly estimating, its total value is approximately equal to 80,000 star dollars based on the quality and weight…”

Jian Luo was shocked stupid, that is to say, he had casually asked Secretary Jin for a box of fruits, but came back with 230,000 star dollars?

There are two boxes, so isn’t it about 500,000?

He remembered that before, his mother, Su Liang, had farmed in the cultivation base year-round and her annual salary was only 100,000. The nobles simply handed him two boxes of fruit, but it amounted to an ordinary person’s 5 year’s worth of salary.

Damn these evil rich people.

Jian Luo took a holy dragon fruit out of it. The fruit was golden and ripe. The pulp inside was crystal clear. He took a bite out of the softness and its juice was sweet but not too sugary. It tasted like vanilla ice cream.

“Jian Luo.”

There was a knock on the door from the outside.

Jian Luo said, “Mom, what’s up?”

“Are you going to livestream today?” Su Liang asked him outside: “If you’re going live, mom will help you clean up the kitchen and prepare things.”

Jian Luo swallowed what was left in his mouth: “I’ll be live broadcasting, mom. Help me cook some rice. I’ll go out and get it later. You don’t need to help me prepare the dishes today.”

Su Liang responded: “Okay, you just got off work, so eat and then broadcast live, don’t starve yourself.”

Jian Luo simply responded with a sound.

He found that the dragon cubs really liked this fruit. In the past, it wouldn’t matter if he was full, he would still feel crazed and uncomfortable.

But only after eating one of these, he felt full. He even felt so full of energy that he could go out and run ten laps.

Outside

Su You pulled on Su Liang’s sleeves: “I told you yesterday that you have to take this to heart. He is pregnant with children. How could you misread it? Did you not notice? Even I see it clearly. Even though there’s nothing wrong, Luoluo will always subconsciously touch his stomach. He also retches when he smells something fishy, and his walking posture too. I swear I’m right.”

Su Liang was still hesitant: “But…”

Su You really couldn’t wait. She heard it clearly that the Dark Stars had no cubs at all, due to their inability to breed. If Jian Luo really does happen to be pregnant, their entire Su family will follow and gain a prosperous life.

She had to make her properly understand this.

“Are you afraid that asking Luoluo will make him look bad? Or perhaps you’re worried that he won’t tell you.” Su You lowered her voice: “I have a pregnancy test sticker. It can be attached to Luoluo’s body, and it won’t take long. If Luoluo is really pregnant, the piece of paper will change color and then we will know everything.”

Su Liang thought about it, but shook her head and refused: “No, Luoluo will tell me when she wants to tell me, eldest sister. It’s our family matter so you don’t need to worry about it. I’ll take you home tomorrow. “

Su You was stunned for a moment and her face was a little ugly: “Sister, what do you mean? Is it that big sister’s words are hard to listen to? I only feel that his personality has changed. His temperament is also not the same as before, don’t you have any suspicions…”

“Big sister!” Su Liang suddenly said coldly: “I’ll handle my own son. I know him very well. Thank you for your kindness, big sister. I believe that if Luoluo doesn’t tell me anything, it’s because he’s dealing with hardship. Then, he doesn’t have to say it.”

Su You: “You…”

She wanted to say more but Su Liang had already turned away.

Looking at her back, Su You gritted her teeth as she held the paper in her hand with hatred before sneering.

Oh, if you won’t test it, I’ll test it.

Jian Luo came out of the room, walked to the dining table and sat down: “Mom, what are we eating today?”

“You don’t have a good appetite these two days, so mom will cook porridge for you.” Su Liang busied herself in the kitchen before bringing out the dishes: “Fried potato.”

Jian Luo whiffed it: “It’s so fragrant. Mom, your cooking skills are improving.”

Su Liang smiled embarrassedly: “You’re speaking nonsense.”

Jian Luo drank the porridge with a smile. Halfway through his meal, he heard a sound from the window outside and he was stunned: “Mom, is it raining outside?”

Su Liang put down what she was doing and glanced outside: “Oh, it’s true! There are still things in the yard.”

Jian Luo said, “I’ll help.”

“No, no, no!” Su Liang said, “You continue eating. There’s nothing much. Just leave it to mom.”

Jian Luo already walked there halfway, so Su You, who was behind him, came over and patted him on the shoulder: “Good Luoluo. Listen to your mother. Auntie will go out to help. You go back to eat your dinner.”

Jian Luo still wanted to go out but Su You pushed him back: “Okay, okay. We don’t need your help, just go and sit.”

“Okay, thank you auntie.”

Jian Luo went back to eat.

Su You looked at the sticker on his back and smiled: “It’s nothing, just go.”

Jian Luo was eating slowly while thinking about the content of the live broadcast for a bit. In the living room not far away, Su Liang and her aunt were squatting at the door to check on the dried fruit.

Jian Luo said, “Mom, I’ll go back to my room to change clothes and take a shower first before I come out again.”

Su Liang didn’t look back: “Got it.”

Jian Luo packed up and went back to his room to rest. As time went by, the sticker began to work. Its tentative stimulus, caused the sensitive dragon cubs to notice it at once. They thought that their mother was being threatened by the outside world and started to feel uneasy.

As soon as he opened the door, Jian Luo felt a slight abdominal pain and slammed the back of his hand onto the door with a ‘Bang!’ as he almost fell onto the ground.

On the Dark Star, most of them were beasts while the rest were half-beasts.

From ancient times to the present, Dark Stars have lived in groups. The beasts naturally relied on scent to discern others. This was especially true for high-level clans with stronger scents.

Dark Star cubs were very precious, especially ones from the dragon family. When a female is pregnant, some dragons in the Dragon Valley will assume the position as her guardian protector. Once the female or her cub are threatened, even the most premature cubs will emit an uneasy aura. This aura can spread up to a radius of ten miles to send a signal for help.

Peace Paradise is more than ten miles away from the Sky city in the upper realm, but there were still many Dark Star people who are close by:

“I think I smell a signal from some cubs. Please slap me awake from my dream.”

“I smell it too.”

“Cubs? God, whose cubs is it?”

“The scent is a little uneasy, is it in danger?”

“Bam!”

Some irritable Dark Star smashed the table: “Who is it!? Whoever dared to harm the cubs who can’t even see yet, our entire planet will not let this go!”
