Chapter 10 – Going to the military base

Chapter 10 – Going to the military base

Teacher Wang saw this and was a little proud: “Big brother, I advise you not to give up.”

Jian Luo took out a tissue from his pocket and wiped his younger brother’s face, his voice was a little lower: “Mrs. Wang.”

Teacher Wang was taken aback: “What?”

“We have a saying on Ancient Earth. You’re a teacher, but I don’t know if you have heard of it.” Jian Luo looked straight at the woman with a smile on his delicate face.

Teacher Wang pursed her lips: “What?”

Jian Luo lightly opened his thin lips and said word by word, “Only dogs look down on people.”

Teacher Wang was stunned for a while. She took a long time to understand the meaning of this sentence, but after, her face turned white immediately: “You!”

“Aren’t you here to go through with the formalities for expulsion?” Jian Luo raised his eyelids and looked at her: “Stop talking nonsense and do it quickly, I’m in a hurry.”

Teacher Wang’s chest heaved up and down angrily: “Don’t regret it!”

There was a bright smile on Jian Luo’s face: “Oh, I’m so scared.”

“…”

Where has Teacher Wang encountered such a person before? Due to Jian Luo, her chest was about to explode from anger.

She took out the form with hatred and waited to see Jian Luo’s reaction when she received the money. Who knew that Jian Luo’s card would directly send the credits to her account?

When handing back the agreement, Jian Luo said slowly: “Mrs. Wang, thanks to you for coming here, otherwise we wouldn’t have known how long Jian Sheng had to stay with you. Tsk, luckily we found out early!”

Teacher Wang’s face became twisted for a moment. She raised her hand and was about to hit someone, but as soon as she raised her hand, Jian Luo grabbed it. The entire face of the gentle and harmless young man turned dark. He turned his head down slightly, as the corners of his mouth turned into a grin, lowering his voice: “I have installed surveillance in this whole yard.”

Teacher Wang was taken aback.

“If you dare to do it,” Jian Luo’s smile deepened: “I will post it on the Lightweb to promote the school?”

Teacher Wang’s heart sank. She swung her hand away and Jian Luo let go of her. As a result, she stumbled back a few steps because of her unsteady center of gravity. She just stepped on some pebbles and fell, embarrassed: “Ah!”

Jian Luo looked at her condescendingly: “Oh, why is teacher so careless?”

Teacher Wang pointed at him: “Did you know that there were pebbles here and did this on purpose?”

“How can I do that when you were the one who swung your hand?” Jian Luo’s delicate little face was filled with doubt: “Oh, shouldn’t Teacher Wang also expel me?”

Teacher Wang’s face turned blue and white.

Jian Luo was actually also a student but he was not in the same class as Jian Sheng. He had applied for sick leave because of his injury.

Teacher Wang, who was reminded of this, said: “You dare to be so disrespectful. You are really uneducated. Immediately kneel down and apologize to me! Otherwise, I will definitely report this to the higher ups to expel you.”

Jian Luo wanted to be expelled. He took a few steps forward to help Teacher Wang up with a respectful attitude: “Mrs. Wang, it hurts to fall down. To tell you the truth, I really didn’t mean it…”

Teacher Wang snorted softly.

The submissive expression on Jian Luo’s face gradually turned cold and he whispered in her ear, “I did it on purpose.”

He pushed her harshly out of the door. Teacher Wang was stunned and wanted to jump up but the door slammed shut, hitting her in the nose. She didn’t speak for a while.

Looking at the house number angrily, she yelled: “Lunatics!”

The door was closed and the yard regained its tranquility. Jian Luo dusted off his hands.

His younger brother came over: “Brother.”

Jian Luo touched his head: “Huh?”

“What do I tell mother when she comes back?” His younger brother lowered his head and was very worried: “She really wants us to study.”

Only those who have been educated and obtained a diploma can enter the cultivation base to farm, otherwise they can only do some hard labour.

For human beings, it was a great honor to be able to cultivate vegetables.

Jian Luo said, “Do you want to farm?”

His younger brother slowly shook his head: “I don’t want to.”

“Then, what do you want to do?” Jian Luo was suddenly curious.

The younger brother was silent for a while, then said, “I want to be a soldier to protect my mother and protect my brother.”

Jian Luo moved for a while, and he smiled slightly: “Let’s talk about that when you grow up, now your big brother will protect you.”

People are always very excited when bragging.

When I started to do the right thing, I was stunned.

Jian Luo found that there was only 1.5w left in his account. Originally, there was 3.5w. The military gave 3w for a cooked meal, and the remaining 5,000 was from selling potato chips and popcorn. He Xin From his hard work, he only earned 5,000, while the military paid the bulk of his money.

If you look at it this way-

The military was really rich!

Although the live broadcast can also make a living, his younger brother needed 500000 credits urgently in order to go to school, plus his mother was working hard in unsafe conditions on the farm.

Just as he was thinking about it, a notification sound came from his information bracelet. Jian Luo opened it to check:

Jiang Jiang: “Luoluo, hurry up and watch the Lightweb.”

Jian Luo was stunned by his enthusiasm, so he decisively clicked on the information page of the Lightweb and saw the biggest trending search above:

#new potato chips dopamine#

There was a message posted by a guy named Lorne:

“According to the research, the new recipe of potato does not contain elements that can directly harm the body. It is, however, rich in iron factors, which help to promote the secretion of dopamine.”

The person spoke neatly and looked very official and just, but Jian Luo did not recognize who he was.

But the following Dark Star comments were not exactly responses but:

“High Priest!”

“The high priest is right!”

“What are potato chips? I’ll go buy them now!”

Of course, when netizens were seething, they did not forget that anchor of the Interstellar Food Network. After all, that person was the one who took the lead in saying that there was a problem with potato chips.

Dark Stars have always hated being lied to, so most of them went to the inconvenience and insult the blogger who issued the statement:

“Please give us an explanation.”

“To be honest, I used to think he was very professional, but now he’s nothing like that!”

“Interstellar Food Network is not going to give an explanation?”

“This website is so disappointing, forget it, I’ll download Jinjiang.”

The power of the web is already great, but the fact that the high priest was suddenly included in this incident made people who weren’t paying attention take notice.

The number of fans the High Priest has is huge:

“Although I don’t know what potato chips are, I will definitely support them.”

“Jinjiang Live Network, I’ll just download it.”

“Potato chips are really delicious, and the anchor’s other delicacies are also delicious!”

In the end, this matter was reversed. Jinjiang Live Broadcasting Network received the largest traffic it has gotten since the establishment of the site. Not only were there many audiences, but many anchors as well.

When the netizens crusaded against Jianluo one-sidedly, the website did not withdraw the anchor to prevent disasters. Instead, it stood up and dared to act to shelter its anchor. As such, it became so popular that many anchors chose to join Jinjiang.

“Bang!”

The atmosphere in the conference room of Interstellar Live Network was grim.

The supervisor paced back and forth angrily: “How did they manage to invite the priest?”

Several moderators were sitting together, and someone said, “We found that it was the same person who helped send it to the procuratorate for inspection.”

The supervisor slammed the table: “Who was it!?”

He was furious and wanted to settle the score after the commotion died down. After all, they were familiar with the people at the procuratorate and had already agreed to not accept Jinjiang’s submission for inspection. Who was so capable to hand it in anyway?

The moderator coughed lightly: “The military.”

The supervisor couldn’t believe it: “Who?”

“Lu Shifeng.”

The room was suddenly so quiet that you could hear a needle falling.

The other side

Jian Luo received a message from Jiang Jiang.

Jiang Jiang sent him a message: “I really can’t believe that the military really sent the potato chips to the inspection center. They even invited the high priest.”

Jian Luo said, “The military has really helped a lot.”

“Yeah.” Jiang Jiang also comforted him: “But in the next two days, you should refrain from live broadcasting for the time being and let the public opinion on the web settle down first.”

Jian Luo: “Okay.”

It could be said that this became a big deal.

Jian Luo thought about thanking the high priest and the military who helped him, but for now he asked the Lightbrain to help him check up on the transfer. The Lightbrain replied.

Lightbrain: “For students to transfer schools, the adults in their families need legitimate occupations.”

Jian Luo said, “My mother has one.”

“But you’ve been expelled. Now you are an unemployed person.” Lightbrain beat him down ruthlessly: “You are considered an adult now, but your work as a food anchor is not recorded as a legitimate occupation.”

? ? ?

Occupational discrimination, reported.

If this was the case, it may cause his younger brother to be unable to go to school. After Su Liang came back, he knew that this matter would definitely cause her to panic.

Just as Jian Luo was thinking, his information bracelet rang again. He opened it and it was Ai Jin who was calling him: “Mr. Jian, what do you think?”

Jian Luo was about to ask her: “I heard Jiang Jiang said that you helped me with the inspection?”

Ai Jin said quickly: “It was nothing.”

“Thank you.” After this incident, Jian Luo had a good impression of the military: “Are you talking about food delivery?”

Ai Jin said: “Yes, yes. What have you decided? The conditions can be negotiated.”

The people from the military seemed to be able to negotiate well. Jian Luo has a really bad impression of the Dark Star from people like Teacher Wang and the moderator. He feels disgusted whenever he sees them but people from the military are different. They were polite and didn’t even use forceful methods to force him, waiting patiently for him to think about it, even helping him so much.

Thinking of this, Jian Luo said, “I’ve thought about it, and I’m willing to accept your offer.”

Ai Jin was overjoyed: “Thank you so much, let’s make an appointment to meet. I’ll be waiting for you at my military center in Sky City!”

Jian Luo thought for a while, and finally agreed: “Okay, I’ll be there tomorrow.”

Chapter 9 – How did you get the military involved?

Chapter 9 – How did you get the military involved?

Lu Shifeng’s fingertips were pointed slightly as the corner of his mouth held an indifferent smile: “Give me his information.”

Secretary Jin was suspicious: “What do you mean?”

The last time the marshal asked for a person’s information, nobody knew where even their ashes went. Who knew you were this quick to anger, marshal!?

Lu Shifeng said, “Do you like to eat what he makes?”

Secretary Jin was stunned for a moment, but nodded honestly in the end: “Yes.”

“Remember why we accepted humans into the Dark Star in the first place?”

Lu Shifeng picked up the clear glass of water on the table and took a sip. Whether it was the white jade-like glass or a gun, they both complemented his hands well. When the man was settled down, he looked like an elegant noble.

Secretary Jin recalled: “Because we found that human vegetables and fruits help to stabilize the emotions of Dark Stars and helped the brain secrete dopamine.”

As we all know, dopamine was a molecule that made people feel good.

And the Dark Stars were inherently lacking in this part. To be more specific – they couldn’t make themselves happy.

Although the whole universe knew that the Dark Stars were brave and good at fighting, as well as smart, and that they are the leaders in all aspects, they also found that the Dark Stars seem to be shrouded in a depressing atmosphere all the year round.

The arrival of mankind broke this deadlock.

Some of them quickly discovered that eating vegetables and fruits can make one’s mood good.

Lu Shifeng put down the glass: “Hundreds of years have passed, and the efficacy of vegetables has been declining.”

“Yes.” Secretary Jin sighed: “Dopamine requires stimulation to be secreted, but with the same kinds of vegetables all year round, everyone will definitely get tired. In the past, the soldiers in our army were under great fighting pressure and it was often difficult to resolve their issues after returning from a bloodbath. When I first ate fruit, my mental state was fine, but it has gradually become worse over the years.”

Lu Shifeng raised his eyelids and the pair of phoenix1Sharp and pretty shape according to asian aesthetics. eyes were full of thought: “What about French fries?”

Secretary Jin was stunned.

Yes, she found that she was in a hyperactive mood for almost a period of time after tasting the fries, which is a sign of a rise in dopamine.

“You mean to say…”

Lu Shifeng tapped his fingertips slightly: “If I guessed correctly, his live broadcast response must be very good.”

Secretary Jin responded: “I heard that it seemed really good.”

If the newly developed dishes can really stimulate the secretion of dopamine better, then naturally it can get stagnant water to flow again.

Lu Shifeng said, “Give me his information.”

After Secretary Jin figured it out, she immediately said, “Yes!”

Peace Paradise

The season at the moment was summer. If the Sky City above was like a prosperous modern society, then the green trees and small bridges in Peace Paradise resembled the carefree ancient times.

Jian Luo hung a small hammock in front of his small yard, and sat on it to sketch.

His younger brother came over: “Brother, what are you doing?”

“Painting our future home.” Jian Luo bit the pen cover: “Our house is too small, we have to buy a new house in the future.”

His younger brother came over to take a look and lowered his eyes: “We can’t buy one.”

Jian Luo frowned: “Why?”

His younger brother sat next to him with a fan: “Because we don’t have a household registration, we live in an assigned house. If you want to buy a new house, you need a household registration.”

Jian Luo was a little upset and sat up: “A household registration is so important.”

His younger brother nodded: “We humans work hard all our lives to get registered.”

“…”

Jian Luo recalled the requirements for settlement: First, make a special contribution to the Dark Star. Second, the total household output must reach 10 tons of vegetables per year.

He sighed softly: “10 tons of vegetables, that’s really difficult.”

His younger brother nodded: “Brother, don’t worry. After I graduate, I will come down to farm together with you and help. One day, we will achieve our wish.”

Jian Luo rubbed his head: “You don’t need to worry about adult matters.”

He couldn’t let children do the hard work. Jian Luo put down his design sketches and began to reconnect to the Lightweb to see what was going on online.

It seemed that some people were pushing for the new public opinion, which was gradually beginning to gain an intensifying amount of momentum.

“Does the anchor have no professional ethics at all now?”

“Grandstanding.”

“Strongly requesting for Jinjiang Live Network to block the anchor.”

This group of people were noisy. Jian Luo frowned. He was not in a good mood. After tossing and turning for a while, he felt a little tired.

He was going to do some farm work but as soon as his hand touched the exit button, a new message appeared on the page:

Jinjiang Literature Network’s Jiang Jiang: “In view of the recent doubts about the safety of the new recipe on the site, we have decided to send the food for quality inspection and will definitely give you a frank and open account of it. Please stop criticizing our anchors. All are malicious remarks and unproven speculation and we will take legal measures to protect our rights.”

His words were powerful and firm.

Jian Nan2His internet alias, mentioned in prev chapt. opened the private chat with Jiang Jiang: “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Jiang Jiang said, “You know, simple food like ours is normally not accepted by the inspection agency but I don’t know why the military sent someone to take it away and called for it to be sent for inspection.”

Jian Luo’s chin almost dropped: “Who do you think sent someone to take it away?!”

Jiang Jiang was startled by him: “M-military,ah. What’s wrong?”

Inexplicably, Jian Luo had a feeling of being entangled into something.

Although the other party was helping him, it felt like he had to pay a great price for the favor he owed them now.

Jiang Jiang also sensed this: “Luoluo, you are a human. How did you invite those people from the military?”

Jian Luo had no confidence: “I don’t know either.”

“Hahahaha.” Jiang Jiang was still rather naive: “Maybe it’s because the food you made was so delicious that they wanted to eat that too.”

“…”

Brother, you are very cool and humorous3Obviously sarcasm..

Jian Luo chatted with Jiang Jiang for a while, but not only did he not relax, the mood became heavier.

There was a sound from the courtyard outside. Someone was knocking on the door. He didn’t care to ask if it was Secretary Jin and ran out.

There was a knock on the door, and Jian Luo pulled his brother back: “Who is it?”

“Hello, is this Jian Sheng’s home?” An impatient voice came from outside: “I’m his teacher.”

Jian Luo looked at his brother subconsciously.

His younger brother cowered behind him as his eyes flashed clearly with unease. In fact, Jian Luo himself noticed recently that this child’s school was always on holiday breaks. He was either skipping classes or the school was going to close down.

Jian Luo knew what to do so he went to open the door.

Standing outside the door was a woman who was about 180 cm tall. She was even slightly taller than Jian Luo. She looked at Jian Luo and said, “You’re Jian Sheng’s brother.”

Jian Luo: “Yes, teacher. Please come in.”

The woman condescended before walking a few steps and coming in: “To introduce myself, my surname is Wang. I’m a Dark Star and also his class teacher. I am here to settle his withdrawal from school.”

Jian Luo was slightly surprised: “Can you tell me the specific reason?”

Teacher Wang glared at Jian Sheng: “You should’ve withdrawn him earlier. I really can’t teach this child. He even dares to fight with his classmates!”

“…”

That’s it?

Jian Luo looked down at his younger brother: “Did you hurt someone?”

“No.” His younger brother lowered his head: “I just pushed him.”

That shouldn’t be it.

Jian Luo looked up at the teacher: “Teacher, don’t you think it’s normal for children to fight each other? I say, let’s just apologize to his classmates, what do you think?”

The teacher sneered with contempt in her eyes: “You say? What’s the use? Did you know that he pushed a Dark Star, but refused to apologize?”

Jian Luo’s heart sank, knowing that this matter can’t be good.

He pulled his younger brother aside: “Tell me, what happened?”

His younger brother said, “That Dark Star stole the potato pancake you made for me.”

“…”

Jian Luo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry: “Why didn’t you tell me?”

His younger brother turned his face away stubbornly: “If you want to scold me, you can. If you want to hit me, do it. I won’t apologize anyway.”

Jian Luo looked at him quizzically.

His younger brother’s face was tensed up as his eyelashes trembled uncontrollably and his clenched little hands clearly exuded unease.

Jian Luo patted him on the shoulder: “Have some backbone!”

His younger brother was slightly surprised: “Don’t you want to scold me? I hurt a Dark Star and I may be expelled.”

“What’s the matter?” Jian Luo didn’t care: “You’re in the right, so why should I scold you? We may live on this planet, but we’re not their dogs. As a human being, you must have a backbone no matter what you do. You are very brave, you know? I’m so proud of you.”

There were some tears in his younger brother’s eyes.

Jian Luo gently touched his head: “Let’s go and talk to the teacher again.”

Teacher Wang has been waiting impatiently by the side: “Have you guys talked it out? You’re really rude. I’ll say it now, I’m here to handle his expulsion from school for him. Even if you don’t agree, it doesn’t matter. I’ve never taught such a disrespectful child before. Of course, if you still want to return to school, it’s not impossible.”

Jian Luo raised his eyebrows: “What are the conditions?”

“Apologize to the child in front of everyone.” Teacher Wang flipped her hair: “However, the school reported the assault, so you have to pay 1w stars for psychological therapy.”

Jian Luo: “Teacher…”

Teacher Wang interrupted him: “Don’t try to bargain with me about conditions, I know your family is poor, but there must be 1w.”

Jian Luo smiled and said, “No, you misunderstood.”

Teacher Wang looked at him suspiciously.

“I mean, he won’t be going to school anymore. Please go through with the transfer procedures.” Jian Luo lazily said, “After all, there is more than one school in the world, right?”

Mrs. Wang was startled. She looked at Jian Luo again and sneered: “Don’t blame me for not reminding you but our school’s tuition is already the lowest and higher institutions start at 5w just for registration, your family… “

Jian Luo’s younger brother clenched his hand.

Jian Luo looked down at him and saw two streaks of tears on the face of the stubborn child who said, “Brother, just let me apologize.”

Chapter 8 – This humans dares reject me?

Chapter 8 – This humans dares reject me?

Secretary Jin prayed silently in her heart: Marshal, you mustn’t get angry at me. I have to make sure you have a hot meal to eat!

After praying, Secretary Jin began to speak righteously: “Of course, it’s our comrades-in-arms who’s ordering the meals, otherwise who did you think it was?”

Jian Luo frowned: “Is it worth ordering special meals for a soldier?”

Did she think he was an idiot?

Secretary Jin opened her eyes and spouted some nonsense: “This is a reward meal. On the day of the soldiers’ training, only those who come out on top can eat it. However, we have a condition. If we were to officially work together, you may need to come over to deliver us the meals in person instead of only providing a virtual taste. Of course, for the inconvenience, a salary to your satisfaction can be provided.”

Jian Luo calmly said, “Please allow me to think about it.”

Secretary Jin was a little anxious but she also knew that she couldn’t be too hasty, so she could only give Jian Luo a few days to think about it.

At the same time – The Dark Starlight Network

An existence similar to the ancient earth’s Weibo1Google or Yahoo, more like Yahoo tbh., high on the hot search topics:

#fried potato chips#

This trending search term started to rise slowly from when Jian Luo’s live broadcast began. Now, at the end of the live broadcast, more and more people have tasted potato chips and the popularity has not decreased but increased.

A food blogger, BigvFlashy, posted a comment:

“This is the most daring innovation using vegetables that I have ever eaten. Cooked with oil, it is not greasy but refreshing. The potato chips are sweet and crispy in the mouth. The oil completely stimulates the deliciousness hidden in the potatoes, and is very addicting. Comparable to an experience in a five-star hotel.”

There were also comments below:

“Is it so mysterious?”

“Isn’t he just a human being?”

“Looks like he’s just tooting someone’s horn.”

At this time, someone pointed out the site where they could try it by just downloading Jinjiang Live.com, you can taste 10 pieces for free.

Dark Star people have a characteristic, they are very proactive and after identifying something, they must find a way to prove that they are right. Many people adhered to the principle of “I must not fall for this evil” and angrily downloaded the app.

A while later, the public opinion on the web began to change:

“God, it’s so delicious.”

“Potatoes are my favorite.”

“I don’t want to eat meat anymore.”

However, the Dark Star people soon encountered a problem. Generally speaking, once other food bloggers have successfully developed food, they will make it open for purchase but Jian Luo does not do this and he prefers to sell his food in limited quantities.

Even Jiang Jiang chatted with him privately: “Luoluo, why don’t you open up a shop to make money?”

Seeing the message, Jian Luo replied: “Brother Jiang, I have announced it on the homepage. If they want to buy it, it will be available during the next live broadcast and it will be put online for half an hour.”

Jiang Jiang: “Cough, I didn’t think that you’d come up with this gimmick.”

Jian Luo smiled: “Since long ago, the affection of the public can’t be easily maintained unless there is a gimmick to it.”

Everything went well on their side, but the group of people on the other side couldn’t sit still. Naturally, these people were from the largest food network in the universe.

The colleague bit on the potato chips: “The creator of the chips seems to be on fire.”

The moderators came over to take a look and sure enough, he saw a group of people promoting the chips on the Lightweb. The momentum was even greater than the previous french fries.

Normally, the overall viewers online on their website should be around 1 million, but today, especially when Jian Luo was broadcasting live, the overall viewers online was only 800,000.

Especially now that the whole network seems to be talking about potato chips, it has invited a large number of users onto Jinjiang Live Broadcasting Network, which poses a serious threat to them.

The supervisor said, “Go and dig up that anchor!”

The moderator made a dark face and decided to tell the truth after a long silence: “Actually, he came over to try to sign a contract before but it seems that he gave up because he was not satisfied with the profit ratio.”

“What?!” The supervisor understood the ins and outs of the matter and was also a little angry: “He is a mere human and he thinks too much.”

The moderator said: “But his food is really good and it seems that the public response was also excellent. I heard that Jinjiang gave him 7 to 3. It is difficult for us to give him such a ratio and after the last time, it’s unlikely he’ll sign with us.”

The moderator sat in the chair and pondered for a moment. After a while, the corner of his mouth twitched into a smile: “If he refuses to terminate the contract with Jinjiang, then we will force him to stop live broadcasting and agree to it.”

A strange atmosphere spread in the office.

The moderator sighed: “Boss, he’s just a human…”

“Bang!”

The supervisor slammed the table and looked at the moderator with hatred: “Do you know who the founder of Jinjiang is? It’s Jiang An. He thinks that he can start his own business after leaving us, what a fool’s dream!”

The moderator was taken aback.

He did not expect the boss of Jinjiang to be Jiang An.

That excellent employee was powerful, but was framed by his own supervisor’s ploy.

The supervisor sneered with a vicious light in his eyes and waved to the moderator: “Come here and do as I say…”

The next day

The weather was very good and the sun was shining brightly, but no light entered the room. The small house was still narrow and had no ventilation. Jian Luo lay on the bed thinking about moving away soon.

Su Liang’s voice came from outside: “Luoluo, mother is going to work. There are vegetables in the pot to eat.”

Jian Luo responded: “Okay.”

It has been his habit to stay in bed in the morning for many years. Now, he turned over in bed and turned on his Lightbrain and refreshed the latest food news but saw a message sent to him by Jiang Jiang: “Luoluo, have you looked at Guangwang.com. yet?”

Jian Luo didn’t even know what he was talking about: “I didn’t see it yet.”

“There is a big research blogger from the Interstellar Food Network who pointed out that the food you made has elements that are harmful to the body.” Jiang Jiang was very anxious: “Go and have a look.”

Harmed the body?

What a joke. If it said that the fried food on ancient earth was really unhealthy because of various additives in it, he would have acknowledged it.

But this fvcking pure natural fried potato chips was dangerous, you say?

Jian Luo frowned and said to Lightbrain, “Help me open up the Lightweb.”

Lightbrain thoughtfully opened the website page for him, and sure enough, it was a hot search topic on the top:

#Potato chips harm the body#

The one who pointed out this problem was another well-known anchor. He is different from the previous food anchors. Everyone else makes food but he is responsible for tasting the food and doing promotions for others. This anchor’s reputation is not small. Whatever he says carried some weight:

Ling Ran v: “Rigorous testing shows that potatoes cannot be fried as fried food can cause colon cancer and seriously affect health.”

A diagram of the study was attached below his comment.

Jian Luo was stunned. Earthlings have grown up snacking on fried food and no one has ever gotten cancer from eating these snacks, so let alone these strong aliens?

The following comments were also quite extreme:

“I just said it was not okay to mess around.”

“The process of the anchor’s cooking looks very dangerous.”

“What’s delicious is delicious, but it is more important to cherish life.”

Many extreme users went to report the website and even asked Jinjiang Live Network to give an explanation. For a time, potato chips fell into a storm of diminishing public opinion.

Jian Luo felt a little speechless.

Jiang Jiang sent him a message: “Luoluo, don’t be afraid. I believe in you. You will never make poisonous food to sell, I firmly believe that.”

Jian Luo smiled: “Brother Jiang, send the potato chips for inspection. I’m not afraid.”

Jiang Jiang sighed: “I also had this idea but those people on the Internet are reacting so wildly these days so just stop live broadcasting for two days. Also, you should not contact those outsiders for the time being. Don’t worry, I figured out a way to solve this.”

Jian Luo took some time to look at the ratings of the website. Because of the chips, many people maliciously gave low ratings, causing the good ratings accumulated by the website from the first two days to plummet.

He was not a fool.

Was there any way this was accidental?

Jian Luo frowned and at the same time he received Secretary Jin’s greeting: “Hello, have you thought about it?”

Secretary Jin’s heart was bitter!

The marshal didn’t receive a meal yesterday and was in a bad mood! As such, her workload was doubled!

Jian Luo is also in a bad mood now. So after encountering this problem, he used it as a reason to reject Secretary Jin, asking: “Do you still want to cooperate with me? The web just exposed that my cooking may harm the body. For humanitarian reasons, I suggest you think twice.”

Secretary Jin was taken aback: “What?”

Jian Luo suggested that she check the Lightweb herself. After all, he was not in a good mood now, and definitely not in the mood to talk to others.

“Beep.”2The call was ended abruptly.

A message alert sounded on her desktop.

Secretary Jin stood up quickly: “The marshal called me to see him.”

The little adjutant looked at her sympathetically: “Have a safe journey.”

“…”

It’s better if you don’t talk.

Secretary Jin went to the training ground in an uneasy mood. At the center of the patrol field, there stood a man with a gun in his hand. With the sound of the gunshot, the target on the opposite side fell down. There was an invisible aura on his body when the man hit the enemy. The entire training ground seemed to be enveloped by a chill.

Secretary Jin obediently said, “Marshal.”

Lu Shifeng stopped after the last bullet. He turned his face and said, “Remember what I told you?”

Secretary Jin cried: “There is a small problem with this matter.”

“Really?” Lu Shifeng took the towel from the shelf next to him and moved gracefully: “The army doesn’t support idlers. I thought Secretary Jin’s job was to deal with problems?”

Secretary Jin had chills on her back and quickly said, “This matter came up suddenly but you can rest assured that I will deal with it as soon as possible.”

“Em.”

Lu Shifeng walked to the chair on the side and sat down, displaying a rare concern: “What happened?”

Secretary Jin could finally assign the blame to someone else. She quickly explained her issue with the web, including the problems that Jian Luo is currently encountering. Although she did not dare to garnish with unneeded details, it was okay to add some spice to the story.

After Lu Shifeng listened quietly, his thin lips parted slightly: “He still refuses to cooperate with us?”

Secretary Jin didn’t expect the marshal’s focus to be here. Oh no, she would never sell out her beloved comrade. Her heart went into full panic.

It was not a good thing to be concerned by this demon lord!

Chapter 7 – Lu Shifeng is a soldier

Chapter 7 – Lu Shifeng is a soldier

Secretary Jin was frozen.

The little adjutant turned around stiffly. Seeing Lu Shifeng standing at the door, his entire body shivered as he cast a pitying look at Secretary Jin.

Secretary Jin felt that she had encountered the biggest crisis in the workplace in her lifetime: “Mar-Marshal.”

“Yeah.” Lu Shifeng came over. His pace was extremely slow, but he felt very oppressive. His every step felt like it was stepping on top of one’s heart.

Secretary Jin and the little adjutant were rumored to be famous people, but at the moment, in front of Lu Shifeng, they were as well-behaved as quails.

Lu Shifeng went to the table and squeezed some french fries into his large knuckled hand.

Secretary Jin held it up, brown-nosedly: “Please eat.”

“This was given to you by that human being alone.” Lu Shifeng’s voice was low and magnetic: “How can one’s handsome self gain his favour?”

Secretary Jin bit the bullet: “You are joking. Everything in the entire military is your’s.”

Lu Shifeng raised his eyebrows noncommittally but did not touch the fries. He put the box back into Secretary Jin’s hand and his fingertips were cold. His handsome profile was sharp and dangerous when the man said quietly, “Let that human continue to bring the meals.”

After he finished speaking, he turned and left.

After a while, Secretary Jin dumfoundedly held the fries: “What does the marshal mean?”

The little adjutant took the opportunity to steal a piece of french fries to eat: “It seems that he is very satisfied with the food. It’s surprising. You tell me. He is indifferent towards the Dark Star chefs, but an unknown blogger in a small place managed to win his great approval.”

Secretary Jin thought of the rice bowl: “He really is special.”

The little adjutant continued to steal the fries: “Since you can contact him, can you get me some fries too?”

“Slap!”

Secretary Jin slapped the little adjutant’s restless hands: “If you dare to steal my food again, I’ll lop off your head.”

“…”

The little adjutant: Uwa.

The next day

Today was Jian Luo’s big day. Jiang Jiang has contracted to use the projection screens in the central square. It was a day where he could only succeed and not fail.

Before the live broadcast, Jiang Jiang talked endlessly: “Don’t be nervous, just keep your composure.”

Jian Luo: “En.”

“You really don’t need to be nervous.” Jiang Jiang added: “Just like before, loosen yourself.”

Jian Luo was expressionless: “I’m not nervous.”

Jiang Jiang quickly replied to him: “How can you not be nervous!? You must be pretending to be strong for such a big event today!?”

Jian Luo had no choice but to act perfunctory: “Oh, I’m so nervous.”

Jiang Jiang comforted him: “Don’t be nervous, don’t be nervous. Just treat it like a normal live broadcast!”

“…”

Was his partner a bit retarded?

To be honest, Jian Luo was really not nervous. After all, it was not his first time becoming an anchor.

What big scenario has he never seen before?

Time passed slowly as he entered the kitchen and waited for the live broadcast to start. When the small ball let out a “di”, the official live broadcast started.

Jian Luo didn’t show his face and just waved at the screen: “Hello everyone. I’m Luoluo, the anchor of Jinjiang Food Network. Today, let’s make a snack called potato chips.”

The Central Shopping Mall was one of the most prosperous areas in Sky City, with at least tens of thousands of Dark Stars passing by every day.

When a food anchor appeared on the big screen, no one cared at first.

Jian Luo picked up the potato: “According to a classic rule, I’ll be using this knife to open up the potato today.”

Although he was being cast on the big screen, his live broadcast room can still be seen from Jinjiang live broadcast. Many people saw his live broadcast and entered the room quickly:

“Popcorn popcorn!”

“My God, the popcorn was so delicious.”

“Anchor, we don’t want to watch potatoes. We want to eat popcorn~”

Jian Luo glanced at the barrage, not knowing whether to laugh or cry: “Be good. Let’s eat French fries today and not popcorn.”

Most of them were not content.

Dark Stars were stubborn. The more they couldn’t get something, the more they wanted it. Jian Luo didn’t open a shop for the purchase of popcorn. It was different if they hadn’t tried it yet, but to let them try only a few kernels and yearn, it made their hearts fill up with an unbearable emotion:

You devious little demon!

Jian Luo no longer watched the barrage but began to focus on his work. The potato chips were not difficult to make, but they tested one’s skill with the knife. They must be cut thinly or else they won’t be crispy and delicious when they are fried.

After peeling the skin of the potato and putting it on the chopping board, Jian Luo started slicing: “Everyone pay attention. If you make these at home, you must be careful with your hands, otherwise you will be easily injured.”

“Why cut them?”

“Just boil the potatoes and eat them.”

“Does this anchor understand what he is doing?”

People on the website could still express their opinions, but those who watched it in the square could only suffer in silence. When they raise their heads, they can see the live broadcast content, but they cannot express their opinions or interact with the anchor.

Everyone didn’t pay attention at first. But this was akin to normally walking on the road but suddenly seeing someone beside you walking backwards. Wouldn’t that be weird?

Therefore, to them, this potato slicer was very strange.

The unique character that was Jian Luo picked up the knife and cut the potatoes with a clack: “The thinner it is, the better and more fragrant it will be when fried.”

The sharp knife in his hand was like a toy and the large chunk of potato was cut as thin as wings when Jian Luo picked up the knife and dropped it skillfully on the potato.

“fvck, what kind of swordsmanship does this guy have?”

“Are you from the army?”

“That’s scary. Cutting vegetables is like it was meat.”

Jian Luo’s slender and fair fingers pinched a piece of potato chips and held them in front of the camera: “You don’t need to cut it so thin when frying yourself, but it should not be too thick, otherwise the taste of the fried potato chips will be affected.”

It was still alright when the camera wasn’t that close. But because of the difference between a human and Dark Star’s information bracelet, everyone noticed that this maverick little thing was actually a human!

Many people had their opinions:

“What do humans know?”

“Wasting food like he was playing family.”

“Let’s go, don’t waste our time.”

Jian Luo saw these people but he ignored them and started to prepare potato chips for the hot oil. This step was the most important, mastering its heat and strength.

This time, not only the people in the barrage, but even the melon eaters1Usually used to refer to idle stream watcher who don’t react and only watch the stream quietly. in the central shopping mall were shocked. At first, everyone thought that this child was wasting food, but now the child even started to play with fire!

“Bzz!”

The pieces of potato chips were put into the pot and the sound was not soft at all. Under the magnification of the lens, the oil splashing out looked extremely dangerous.

“Human, you are playing with fire.”

“Oh my God, it’s too dangerous. Are you really cooking?”

“Don’t try to be grandstanding, okay?”

Jian Luo remembered which button Jiang Jiang had told him to click to switch on the sensory sharing, so he clicked the button to let the audience on the live broadcast network immediately smell the fragrance here.

The website brings up a popup asking the person watching if they would like to accept the sharing.

Originally, only few people were willing to accept it because once they accepted the sensory sharing, that meant that they would be sharing the exhaustion of cooking and the fishy smell of food with the anchor.

But–

The fried potato chips.

The scene in front of them was really exciting and most of the Dark Stars, by nature, liked challenges and couldn’t hold back their eager hearts, clicking the agree button.

Some people even shared it on the web and the live broadcast room participants jumped from 109 to 2002.

Jian Luo began to flip the potato chips continuously with the spatula: “Everyone remember to not let them stick to the pan.”

“Damn it, it’s so hot.”

“It’s so oily, cooking is like fighting a war!”

Some of the people who have already connected and shared their senses found it quite strange and began to express their various feelings.

At the same time, the melon-eating crowd in the central square couldn’t hold back at all. It was not the same as being an audience in the live broadcast room where they could complain and chat with Jian Luo. They also had something to complain about but there is no channel to vent!

While frying the potato chips, Jian Luo said, “If you like live streaming, you can download Jinjiang Live Streaming.com. Download users can try these potato chips for free. I will also share more delicious food made on this platform in the future.”

Jinjiang Live Network.

This was a new site that most people haven’t heard of.

“Never mind, I’ll download it first to complain about the anchor.”

“Eat this potato for free?”

“I don’t want to eat this thing.”

Although most of them were cursing, the downloads for Jinjiang Live Streaming Network began to increase bit by bit.

Finally, in the last stir-fry when the potato chips came out of the pot, the fragrance of potatoes wafted throughout the kitchen. The fried potato chips were golden and crunchy on the surface, eliminating the public’s past perception of round and soft potatoes. The stimulation was even greater for the users sharing their senses:

“My God, it smells so good!”

“Anchor, eat it quickly.”

“Yes, it smells good.”

Jian Luo was not in a hurry to eat, so he cleaned the stove because the potato chips were still a little hot. However, the more he was in no hurry to eat, the more frenzied the Dark Stars who were waiting to be fed became!

Finally, when the crowd couldn’t hold back anymore, Jian Luo took a bite. It was very crispy. The freshly fried potato chips had a sweet and slightly sweet aroma. The reason why this puffed food was a healing food for humans was because of the satisfaction and extreme pleasure that can be felt by the taste buds at the moment of its entry. Its delicious taste could be clearly felt with almost no effort at all.

For a moment, the barrage stopped before being followed by a crazy crowd:

“Too delicious!”

“Immediately put them on the shelves!!”

“I want to buy it for ten years straight!”

“I don’t even want to go to Michelin restaurants.”

Because of his unique cooking skills and human identity, coupled with the audience from all over, the number of people in Jian Luo’s live broadcast room increased wildly, maintaining around 100,000 viewers until the broadcast ended.

After the live broadcast, he put the potato chips on the shelf and was ready to rest. It was only customary.

Almost as soon as he took a break, a message came from his information bracelet: “Hello, I’m Ai Jin. We tasted the food you uploaded today and it tasted very good. We intend to sign a long-term contract with you.”

The military?

Jian Luo remembered his mother’s warning and replied, “I am very happy to be recognized, but I am very sorry. I have no intention of working with you for the time being.”

Ai Jin was taken aback.

She really had a hard time believing that she would be rejected!

Does this human understand that cooking for Lu Shifeng was an honor for any chef in the world, yet he refuses?

Ai Jin didn’t give up: “We can discuss the salary issue until you’re satisfied.”

Jian Luo loves money but cherishes his life. He refuses to take the job which requires licking blood at the tip of a knife2very dangerous: “I’m sorry, but you think too highly of me. My craftsmanship is fine for small jobs, but I really can’t serve big people.”

At that point, Ai Jin understood where the problem was.

This human was not afraid to take their orders. But think about it, once Lu Shifeng is unhappy, it wouldn’t take more than a matter of minutes before someone dies.

But if this human being is not dealt with here, the next person to die will definitely be her.

Thinking of this, Ai Jin felt cruel: “Don’t worry, you are not cooking for the big man, it’s just for a soldier3Lol, it’s a reference to the title. That soldier is Lu Shifeng. Yep, just an ordinary soldier. here!”

Jian Luo was taken aback for a moment: “Do you order meals for ordinary soldiers?”

Chapter 25 – Qi Yun, I am a man

Chapter 25 – Qi Yun, I am a man.

In the quiet ward, Qi Yun leaned against the wall while Chen Ying was standing. Qi Yun closed his eyes, the bruises on his hands did not disappear yet and they were particularly conspicuous on his slender, white fingers. Chen Ying looked at Qi Yun who had his eyes closed and was resting. In just two months, Qi Yun had changed a lot. Although he was still thinner than before, the outlines of his outstanding appearance could already be seen and the day to his full recovery was already in sight. It would not be long before then.

Chen Ying couldn’t help but feel that such huge progress was made because of one man.

“Master Yun really decided to have the surgery. I need to report this to the chairman.”

Chen Ying bowed down. Although Qi Yun couldn’t see it, the respect Chen Ying felt in his bones for him had not changed at all.

Qi Yun opened his eyes slowly. His beautiful eyes which should be like the stars were now as dull as stagnant water.

“You did so much so you can see me return to the Shen family. Now that I’ve agreed. Would you really let a blind man sit in that seat?”

Qi Yun’s words were full of disdain and Chen Ying furrowed his brow, “Master Yun, the chairman cares about you very much, and she’s also suffering quite a bit because of this.”

Qi Yun sneered, “Chen Ying, are you my grandma’s or Shen Qinghong’s right-hand?”

Chen Ying bowed down again.

“Master Yun, the old Madam told Chen Ying before her death that the owner of the bracelet will be Chen Ying’s master. But in any case, I wish for Master Yun’s speedy recovery.”

Qi Yun rubbed his sore temples, “Just continue doing what we planned from before. It won’t be easy for them to get what they want from me. There will always be a price to pay for the harm they’ve caused to me.”

There was no trace of emotion as he said those cold words. Chen Ying slowly began to ask uncertainly, “That Young Madam, you…”

When referring to Xing Zhongwan, Qi Yun stopped rubbing his fingers on his temple. A ray of sunlight shone on that icy heart, quietly melting away at its corner.

“Don’t involve him in it!” Qi Yun put down his hands. His expression was a little ugly.

Chen Ying straightened up and sighed slightly, “I’m afraid it’s too late, the young madam has already entered the fray.”

Qi Yun gradually tightened his hand on the bed sheet, “Don’t let anyone hurt him.”

On the way back, Qi Yun was a little tired. He leaned his entire self against Xing Zhongwan’s body. Xing Zhongwan felt awkward but he was too embarrassed to push him away. After all, Qi Yun looked so weak, so he should bear with it. They were almost there anyway.

While Xing Zhongwan was struggling with his thoughts, Qi Yun suddenly asked, “When is Wanwan’s birthday?” Xing Zhongwan was taken aback, “My birthday? There’s still more than two months left till then.”

“When?” Qi Yun was very persistent.

“Children’s Day on June 1st! My mother always said that my birthday is easy to remember. Hey, what are you asking this for?”

Xing Zhongwan turned his head to look at Qi Yun. From this angle, he could just see his beautifully arched nose. Xing Zhongwan has seen a lot of good features, but there were few as adequate as Qi Yun’s.

He hurriedly withdrew his thoughts, but Qi Yun held Xing Zhongwan’s hand, “I will give you a gift when that time comes.”

Xing Zhongwan wanted to quickly withdraw his hand. The warm touch made him feel a little uncomfortable. “I am not a child. It’s too early for you to give me gifts for my birthday. Just take good care of your body and don’t worry about anything else.”

Xing Zhongwan pulled his hand back and the warmth in Qi Yun’s palm suddenly disappeared. He furrowed his eyebrows discreetly but his head couldn’t help but move closer to his shoulder a little.

Slowly closing his eyes, the faint unique scent on the tip of his nose made Qi Yun’s heart hurt a little inexplicably.

Suddenly, he remembered that woman’s blood-splattered eyes and her vicious words before the car accident, Qi Yun, people like you should die. You are not worthy of love, and no one will treat you sincerely, because you are just a heartless beast, you are not worthy!

The sudden chill running down his spine caused Qi Yun to open his eyes abruptly, but the sound of Xing Zhongwan’s steady breathing by his side slowly suppressed the cold.

Even if he knew that there were some things he knew he would never be able to get close to, Qi Yun just couldn’t bear to let go. Stretching out his hands, he encircled Xing Zhongwan’s waist and felt his body instantly going stiff. He couldn’t help but tighten his grasp. Xing Zhongwan was suddenly hugged and the embarrassment he was trying to suppress doubled in an instant. This posture was so ambiguous, he was going to die or perhaps even explode! Dear mother, please show me a clear way out from the heavens above. If I will throw Qi Yun out now, please don’t enter my dreams to scold me!

“You… you let go now. I feel uncomfortable.” Xing Zhongwan coughed and shuffled around uncomfortably. Qi Yun didn’t have any intention to let go.

“All this time, you have asked me to let go of you, Wanwan. What if I can’t let go? Are you going to run away from me? No, you chose to come to me so I won’t let you go.”

Xing Zhongwan was shocked, was this supposed to be my f/cking fault?

Qi Yun slowly straightened up, holding Xing Zhongwan’s face. Xing Zhongwan opened his eyes, his eyes looked like they were about to bulge out.

Qi Yun lifted his face and his pale, bloodless lips pressed against Xing Zhongwan’s cheek. However, because of his fatigue, he must’ve misplaced them. Slowly, they moved to Xing Zhongwan’s mouth and kissed him firmly.

It was like Xing Zhongwan had been punched by someone. The dry sensation on his lips that was different from that of a woman stunned him. Slowly, his anger rose. When it happened the first time, he could treat it as an accident. But now what? Qi Yun, you shouldn’t trick people too many times.

Xing Zhongwan shoved him violently and swung his fist over, Qi Yun’s head was moved aside and his frail body was thrown back heavily onto the chair.

Xing Zhongwan rubbed his lips fiercely, “I said, don’t do this kind of thing again, Qi Yun! Is it fun to toy with me?”

His face was hot and painful, and he had not recovered from the shock of being pushed away. Wanwan has apparently hit him? Even when he was at his most angry, Wanwan never lashed out at him before. The punch on the face made Qi Yun sober up instantly.

Lying on the back of the chair in embarrassment, Qi Yun still couldn’t get up after using all his energy. Surprise, shame, and irritation filled his mind. The warm touch between his lips and teeth was still there. There was also the sound of Wanwan’s rapid breathing, which told him how angry he was.

The driver who was driving in front pulled over in fright before trembling as he opened the door and stood to the side of the road.

Xing Zhongwan calmed down and looked at Qi Yun’s broken lips.

His cheeks were also red and swollen, while his eyes were stained with tears. He was lying on his back, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get back up. His embarrassed appearance made Xing Zhongwan unable to bear it. He took a deep breath and leaned over to lift the other person up. Qi Yun turned his head startled, “I’m not toying with you, you… hate me that much?”

Qi Yun’s words made Xing Zhongwan speechless, hate you? Although he had his own selfish reasons for staying, after getting to know the Qi Yun who had treated him differently, and only showed his weakness in front of him, Xing Zhongwan could not hate him. If he could, he wanted to treat Qi Yun as a friend, but any more than that…Xing Zhongwan couldn’t do it.

“Because I can’t see? Because I can’t move my legs? Because I’m no longer the Qi Yun I used to be? You don’t want to be with a cripple for the next half of your life, so you can’t accept me?”

Qi Yun was extremely calm, but what he said made a cut in his own heart.

Xing Zhongwan frowned, “No! If it was because of all that, would I still care for you now?!”

Xing Zhongwan scratched his hair. This was getting annoying, “Qi Yun, it’s impossible for me and you. You… you’re getting better now and will have other people around you in the future. There is no need to waste time on me…”

Xing Zhongwan couldn’t say anymore. Qi Yun frowned as his head hung down. The hand that was throbbing by his side tightened little by little and his body began to tremble. At first he desperately wanted to control it, but in the end there was no way he could do it so his entire body trembled violently.

“Sure enough, I can’t even make you stay.”

As he was suppressing his emotions, he was also trying to keep as much of his composure as possible. Perhaps Qi Yun didn’t even know that his voice was trembling.

It was like a layer of thorns were slowly being pulled out. The fragile Qi Yun who was trying to pretend to be strong finally crushed the last straw in Xing Zhongwan’s heart.

Xing Zhongwan was determined and made a decision, facing Qi Yun’s red eyes he pulled Qi Yun’s hand to his Adam’s apple, “Qi Yun, I am a man.”

The man in front of him turned his head quietly, and the finger placed in Xing Zhongwan’s throat gently stroked the part. Qi Yun used his strength to rest his his head on Xing Zhongwan’s shoulder, “I know!”

T/N: Er, it might be late to say this but in conversational chinese language, ‘he’ and ‘her’ are pronounced the same way – 他/她 (Tā)

So when the others are referring to Xing Zhongwan, his pronouns used are actually rather ambigious hehe.

Chapter 24 – Wanwan, I want to see you

Chapter 24 – Wanwan, I want to see you.

Xing Zhongwan picked up the wine glass and tipped his head back, cleanly drinking the red wine in it, “Weigh it clearly in my heart? It’s not like I want to live with him. I have to find some time to go back to Xing’s house and properly settle my mother’s affairs. When everything’s done, I’ll leave.”

“I’m afraid that someone won’t let you go by then, Young Madam Qi, hahaha.” Xue Qing looked at Xing Zhongwan and couldn’t help notice his dark mood. It was too funny and she couldn’t bear not to tease him.

Xing Zhongwan glanced at his watch, “I have to go back. After you schedule the time for the check-up appointment, do inform me. You should also stop contacting Chen Ying.”

Xue Qing nodded, “I understand. Hey, are you not gonna accompany me for drinks? Going back to being a nanny so soon, Laoxing, when did you have such a high level of conscience? Is there something between you and Qi Yun that we don’t know? I don’t believe that you’re this kind or could it be… you fell for him?”

Xing Zhongwan rolled his eyes, “Put away your unfounded claims. Don’t learn from Chengzheng, someone who spends his days as neither male nor female. Go back to rest if you can. Don’t go sleeping around now and get back to me as soon as you finish scheduling the appointment.”

Xue Qing stared at him, wide-eyed, “Damn, I just arrived and now you’re driving me away. Lao Xing, you really have no conscience. Who was it that even brought you here? Did you forget…”

Xing Zhongwan put on his trench coat and didn’t bother to look back at her, “Hey, lend me your car to drive.”

Xue Qing threw her car keys over and Xing Zhongwan raised his hand to catch it, “Thank you.”

Xing Zhongwan got in the car, but did not start the engine. After sitting quietly for a few minutes, Xue Qing’s words did not sound unreasonable.

It’s just that Qi Yun’s words and deeds piqued his interest. If he did know that he was a man, then… He has never heard about Qi Yun swinging the other way.

Xing Zhongwan felt a chilll run down his back. He was supposed to only be repaying a favour, yet he’s probably somehow turned someone gay in doing so. When he was young, he said that he wanted to marry Qi Yun, but that some mindless comment he had said as an innocent child. Plus, at that time he mistook the other for a girl. Xing Zhongwan stomped on the accelerator. This was annoying him to death.

Xing Zhongwan got out of the car. Before entering the gates, he saw Qi Yun sitting in a wheelchair like a stone statue. Awkwardly, he lowered his head and coughed, walking over to him slowly, “Why didn’t you go in? It’s cold outside.”

Qi Yun raised his head and asked indifferently, “You came back?”

Xing Zhongwan looked at Qi Yun’s pale face. When he returned, his irritation suddenly disappeared. He bent down to his level and re-dr4p3d the shawl that was slipping off Qi Yun’s shoulders, “Have you not eaten? What do you want to eat? I will make it for you.”

Qi Yun looked at Xing Zhongwan silently with bloodshot eyes,

Xing Zhongwan asked, “Have you been sitting here waiting for me? They said that I’ll be fine, why are you so disobedient?”

Qi Yun stretched out his hands and placed It on Xing Zhongwan’s shoulders, “Come here, Wanwan.”

Xing Zhongwan leaned forward a little, following his words. Qi Yun did the same and embraced Xing Zhongwan. Xing Zhongwan struggled against him but Qi Yun leaned his face on his shoulder, “Wanwan, let me hold you for a while.”

Xing Zhongwan was stunned. He then sighed, “Qi Yun, you…”

“Don’t talk.”

Qi Yun whiffed the scent of pine wood on Xing Zhongwan’s body and clasped his hands on his back. You came back, Wanwan.

It’s good that you’re back by my side, Wanwan. That you’re still here.

Xing Zhongwan’s body was a little stiff and Xue Qing’s words kept flashing in his mind. He stepped back a bit and looked at Qi Yun, “I will push you inside and make you some food.”

Qi Yun had his hands stretched out blankly, still maintaining the hug. In this position, the blush on his neck faded little by little, and he replied faintly, “Okay.”

Xing Zhongwan made a simple bowl of noodles drizzled with sesame oil and some chives. He placed it in front of Qi Yun, “It smells good, hurry up and eat it while it’s hot.” He handed Qi Yun a fork. Qi Yun took it and ate silently. Xing Zhongwan poured a glass of water and sat beside Qi Yun. The villa was very quiet at night. There is only the slight clinking of cutlery against the bowl.

Qi Yun ate it very attentively and even finished the bowl of noodles cleanly. Xing Zhongwan placed the bowl in the sink and Qi Yun said, “Did my mother make trouble for you?” Xing Zhongwan washed his hands, “No, she asked me to take good care of you.”

Qi Yun put his hands neatly on the dining table, “I couldn’t protect you. I watched you get taken away, but I couldn’t do anything.”

“What are you talking about, hey, what’s the matter with your hands?” Xing Zhongwan realized now that much of Qi Yun’s fingernails were broken and there were dark streaks of dried blood.

Xing Zhongwan grabbed Qi Yun’s hand, “Did you scratch at the ground?”

Qi Yun pulled away his hands and turned his head away, “No.” A trace of anger flashed across Xing Zhongwan’s face, “Did that old woman bully you again? I’m going to find her.”

“Wanwan!” Qi Yun grabbed his hand and Xing Zhongwan turned his head in annoyance. He wasn’t speaking clearly, “Don’t your hands hurt? When you’re in pain, you won’t utter a word and only keep enduring it in silence. Why don’t you make your middle name Mother Teresa or something?”

As Qi Yun was scolded inexplicably, he had an innocent expression as his long lashes trembled. Here it comes again, that pitiful image of being bullied. Xing Zhongwan sat down angrily, “Spit it out! What’s the matter?”

Qi Yun’s hand tried to pull on Xing Zhongwan’s but he was slapped. He pulled again but was slapped by his palms. This went back and forth several times. Xing Zhongwan finally lost his temper, “You don’t want to spit it out? Alright, I’m leaving.”

After Xing Zhongwan finished speaking, Qi Yun grabbed onto his clothes in a panic, “I was just angry with myself, I couldn’t protect you. You, I…”

Qi Yun’s face was pale, “My mother has a difficult way of doing things and I’m afraid she will make it hard for you. As I am now, I can’t, can’t…”

Qi Yun couldn’t go on. It was difficult for a person who was once so proud to admit his own incompetence.

Xing Zhongwan took a deep breath, “Qi Yun, I am not as fragile as you think, and I have the ability to protect myself.”

Xing Zhongwan was a little at a loss. He gulped down his own anger.

“I’ll carry you up. It’s late now so you should rest early and continue recovering tomorrow.” As he said this, he let Qi Yun climb onto his back.

Qi Yun stretched out his hands and hugged Xing Zhongwan’s neck tightly, “Wanwan, promise me you won’t leave!”

Xing Zhongwan was about to get up but he stopped to take a deep breath, “Qi Yun, I’m a ma…”

“All I know is that you are Wanwan, the Wanwan that has been with me and that’s enough. Everything else is not important.”

Xing Zhongwan grabbed Qi Yun’s legs and carried him on his back. He got up and walked the stairs step by step. The heartbeat of the man on his back could be clearly felt when their bodies were this close to each other.

Qi Yun raised his head and gently dropped a kiss on Xing Zhongwan’s neck. Xing Zhongwan retracted his neck, “What are you doing?”

Qi Yun didn’t say a word as his arms around Xing Zhongwan’s hands tightened, but those eyes that were originally fragile were cold and bloodshot looked terrifying at this moment.

The date of the appointment was quickly set and Xing Zhongwan accompanied Qi Yun for the examination. It was surprising that Professor Gao turned out to be a youthful person.

Seeing Xing Zhongwan’s eyes, the woman with an intelligent and reserved look couldn’t help but reveal a hint of surprise, “So you are the one that Ah Zhe often talks about, meeting you once really betrays the thousands of times I’ve heard of you.”

Xing Zhongwan shook hands with her, “Your Chinese is really good! Zhengzhe should’ve explained my situation to you. Please don’t mention anything about me to anyone else.”

Professor Gao spread his hands, “Don’t worry, I am a doctor. I am only interested in treating my patients.”

Xing Zhongwan smiled, “Then I’m counting on you.”

Xue Qing did not come this time. Of course she wanted to take the opportunity to watch how Qi Yun was feeling now, but Xing Zhongwan didn’t allow it. Xue Qing felt aggrieved. After sending Professor Gao here, she went back to the hotel.

Xing Zhongwan was standing at the end of the corridor and eating a lollipop. Chen Ying walked behind him at some unknown time. “It has been some long time, Young Madam.”

Xing Zhongwan turned around and looked at him, “It hasn’t been that long, we saw each other half a month ago.” Chen Ying smiled, “I was able to invite Professor Gao this time without any problems thanks to the Young Madam.”

Xing Zhongwan looked at him for a while, “I didn’t help much. If you want to thank someone, you should thank Xue Qing.”

“Miss Xue… of course, I would like to thank her too. Master Yun seems to trust Young Madam very much. The doctor said that the condition of his legs have improved. It’s not bad progress and I think the reason for this was mostly because of you, Young Madam.”

Xing Zhongwan raised his narrow eyes, “What do you mean?”

Chen Ying said, “I just wanted to explain that the Young Madam is very important to the Young Master and that I will have to bother the Young Madam more in the future.”

Xing Zhongwan snorted coldly and Chen Ying no longer spoke.

An hour later, the examination room door opened. Professor Gao came out and looked at Xing Zhongwan. Xing Zhongwan said, “What do you think?”

The patient’s brain has a blood clot and it’s putting pressure against the optic nerve, “Did he not get it checked out years prior?”

Professor Gao’s eyes were narrowed and Xing Zhongwan looked at Chen Ying suspiciously but Chen Ying remained calm.

“Too much time has passed. If you went with the operation at that time, I would be 80% sure, but now… the chances are less than 50%.”

Less than 50%…

“What will happen if you fail?”

Professor Gao smiled, “The location of the clot is not good. If you decide to go on with the operation, you must be mentally prepared. At the same time, I will have a consultation with more experts in this area. You have to think about it clearly and tell me your decision.”

Xing Zhongwan felt his throat going dry. Even the words he said felt bitter, “Does Qi Yun know?”

“I have already told him as the patient has the right to know of his own condition. You can go in and see him.”

Xing Zhongwan walked quickly into the examination room as Chen Ying looked at his back thoughtfully.

Qi Yun was lying on the hospital bed. There was only the sound of the instrument in the examination room. It was oddly quiet.

As Xing Zhongwan slowly approached, Qi Yun opened his eyes.

“Is that you, Wanwan?”

Xing Zhongwan said an ‘en’ and asked, “Qi Yun, have you come to a decision?”

The corners of Qi Yun’s mouth curled up slightly and he looked in the direction of Xing Zhongwan’s voice, “Wanwan, I want to see you. I want to know what you look like.”

T/N: Hello, hello! I hope you are all doing great~

I don’t have much to say, except if you or another family member is in need of some medical procedure, it usually isn’t a good idea to delay it. If the only thing stopping you/them from getting the surgery they need is fear, then you/they should probably go ahead with the surgery asap. Letting the illness fester will cause it to become harder to treat in the future. In the case of financial difficulty, I would advice (if possible) for you to get a loan/insurance/some financial assistance. These kind of things may seem scary, but I’m with you every step of the way, may you find the courage to face the reality of the situation. Hopefully you will have people in your life that will help share the burden and cast those fears and worries of yours aside.

Of course, this applies to many things in life and not just illnesses. For example, it could be your college applications or selling your childhood home for the sake of moving away and out to start a new life in a new state or country. All I’m trying to say is that we must eventually face our fears and grow as a person because we cannot just stay in one place. I heard this quote that goes “In life, you’re one of two things. If you’re not growing, then you’re dying”, and I believe it means that we have to always move forward, I think haha. Enough of all that serious talk, whatever stage of life you may be in, I hope you’re doing well and always strive to do better. Maybe for the sake of those who have loved you and is loving you. You can’t let yourself be bullied, after all, it’ll not only make your loved ones sad, you’re kinda also letting them down or betraying them (?)

They placed their faith, trust and confidence in you, or in raising you; so you must take care of yourself toOo (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥

Chapter 6 – Secretary Jin has it hard

Chapter 6 -Secretary Jin has it hard

The Rao Ai Jin, who was used to seeing many big occurrences, didn’t expect this human being to be so– pragmatic.

But she was still very happy: “Then why do you come to Sky City? Let’s meet. It’s better if you can come here today. We are in a hurry.”

Jian Luo: “…”

He didn’t know if this was a hallucination.

He felt that this Dark Star person seemed to be … in a hurry?

It was not just Jiang Jiang, all the Dark Stars he’s met were all so blatant when it came down to this, was this just their culture?

Jian Luo thought for a while: “I’m sorry, I can’t go there at the moment.”

Ai Jin was stunned, so she quickly said, “Is it because the price was not right?”

Jian Luo didn’t trust her very much, but he certainly can’t say that upfront: “You shouldn’t decide on the customized meal based on yourself, as the other party may not like to eat what I will make. You should have a taste first. If it;s no good, then we’ll meet up. What do you think?”

Ai Jin looked at the line of text on the information screen. She had to say that she felt that what this human being said made a lot of sense!

“Okay then.” Akin said, “I’ll order a meal from you first.”

After Jian Luo knew that he was successful, with a tone of professionalism, he asked, “What kind of meal do you want, I’ll see if I can do it.”

Ai Jin’s spirits was lifted: “Your fries are good. We have tried them, and we think they are delicious.”

“…”

Again with the French fries.

Jian Luo said, “French fries has been locked up by another site. If you don’t have any particular requirements regarding your meals, I will make new products for you.”

Ai Jin was taken aback.

She was skeptical of new products.

Jian Luo thought for a while: “Can you pay for the ingredients? I don’t have a lot of ingredients.”

Ai Jin was shocked by Jian Luo’s poverty. She knew that even ordinary Dark Star families would not be short of food, so she was very forthright: “We will pay for all the expenses of your cooking!”

Jian Luo’s eyes lit up.

Say no more, Jin Daddy1He’s just calling him his master/ something like a sugar daddy with just the implications of someone paying for all his expenses haha!

After the two parties reached an agreement, Jian Luo learned about the requirements of his customer, which was only one; and that it had to be: delicious food.

This requirement is also too broad and there is no sense of direction at all.

The only thing he was happy about was that Ai Jin had already sent the 2w of the deposit, so he had the money to buy some ingredients first.

Jian Luo opened his information bracelet and couldn’t wait to buy one thing, that was: rice!

The Lightbrain gave a reply: “Order Successful.”

Jian Luo didn’t wait long when a delivery robot delivered the items to his door. The two big bags cost 2,000 star coins.

Robot: “Please verify.”

Jian Luo swiped his information bracelet and the robot left after the payment was successful.

Life was better with rice2Haha we chinese people love our rice. Mmm rice. Yes rice. I would give my life for rice. (T/N lore: I would rice from my chair for rice.). In the evening, his younger brother and Su Liang were surprised to see rice grains when they came back. Jian Luo simply explained to them about his live broadcast, and there was no need to hide it anyway.

His younger brother is still young and ignorant, so he didn’t think it was a big deal but Su Liang’s reaction was great.

Su Liang pulled Jian Luo into a room: “Luoluo, which live streaming website gave you so much money all at once. Don’t lie to me, tell me the truth!”

Jian Luo sat down on a chair: “I will cook a meal for the military and they will pay for it.”

“What!?”

Jian Luo’s eardrum was hurt by her scream: “Mom, please speak softer.”

“You bad child!” The woman was very angry: “How dare you provoke people in the military? Don’t you know that Dark Star people are ruthless? For them, it is as simple as crushing an ant. How are you good enough to be able to cook for them? If it doesn’t suit their taste, if their anger reaches you, how can mother live on…”

Su Liang wiped her tears as she spoke.

Seeing this, Jian Luo was a little lost: “Does the military have so much power?”

He also regretted it a little now. First, he didn’t know many details about the other party and he didn’t know who was going to eat it. If it was really like what his mother said, and the other party was a tyrant and didn’t like his food, was he really going to be beheaded?

Su Liang wiped her tears: “It’s fine if you cook for an ordinary Dark Star. After all, your mother has eaten your cooking and it’s really good food. There shouldn’t be any problem, as long as you’re not cooking for the military commander Lu Shifeng.”

Jian Luo was relieved: “Mom, what do you think? My identity isn’t even enough to cook for him.”

Su Liang thought about it too and she sighed: “That’s good.”

“By the way, who is Lu Shifeng?” Jian Luo was a little curious: “Is he difficult to get along with?”

He shouldn’t have asked. When he did, Su Liang’s face changed drastically.

She sat in the chair and gulped before calming down and explaining: “Lu Shifeng is the only remaining Dark Star with the dragon lineage. I heard that he led a small team of Dark Stars on a mission back then, but was flanked by the enemy. The entire team was killed, but he survived, so he annihilated the enemy with his own power. The warship he was driving was originally silver, but it was stained with blood after the war and the red color could not be washed away even after multiple tries.”

Jian Luo was taken aback for a while: “That powerful…”

“But he is moody and domineering.” Su Liang sighed: “Let’s not talk about us humans, even the royal family has to be courteous when they see him.”

Jian Luo was also stunned: “Mom, don’t worry. I know what to do. I won’t take this order after I finish it, and I’ll only do live broadcasts in the future.”

Only then did Su Liang burst into laughter: “You just need to understand this.”

How could Jian Luo not understand? If he knew that this Lu what Shifeng was so scary, he would’ve pretended to have not seen Ai Jin’s private message!

Originally, he wanted to fool around and cook some food for a bit, but it wasn’t worth risking his life over!

The next day.

There was still one day before the screencast in the central square. Today, Jian Luo was going to cook for the VIP. However, because it was to be custom-made, it cannot be broadcasted live.

Before working, he clicked on his live broadcast stats:

Popcorn Hits: 1245

Download usual amount: 1200

There were nearly 700 comments at the bottom of the page:

“Sweet and crunchy, www I’m dead.”

“I threw away all my boiled corn at home.”

“Ask the anchor to put it on the site!”

Jian Luo thought about it for a while. In the end, he did not rush to make them available on the site for purchase, but changed the limit of downloadable tasting from 1 to 3 times.

The taste of popcorn was not easy to tire of just after eating one. You are supposed to put a handful in your mouth and let the dense sweetness and crunch explode on the tip of your tongue as you chew on them.

After prepping, he started making the food to be handed over to the military.

“Brother.” His younger brother, Jian Sheng ran over: “There’s no live broadcasting today?”

Jian Luo nodded: “Don’t you have to go to school today?”

Jian Sheng’s face showed a guilty conscience but it quickly faded. He nodded casually and said, “It’s a holiday, let me help you.”

Jane Luo didn’t refuse: “Then wash the potatoes.”

His younger brother responded obediently and came over to help peel the potatoes. There was a large piece of wild boar meat on the kitchen table. The family hadn’t eaten meat for a long time, so he couldn’t stop looking at it.

Jian Luo found out that he was cutting the meat into pieces and said, “That’s my client’s food so we can’t eat it.”

His younger brother looked back: “I know.”

Jian Luo found that although his younger brother was a little naughty at times, he was very clear when it came to important matters.

The two of them cut the potatoes into pieces together and heated some oil in the pan. Jian Luo started to make potato stew. There was no ginger here so to get rid of the fishy smell, he could only buy wine from a shopping website and tried his best to find rice wine that was similar to cooking wine to get rid of the raw smell.

As the meat in the pot was deep-fried and smoked, the aroma of the meat spread quickly.

When the color showed that it was almost done, Jian Luo added some water and poured the potatoes in.

The younger brother watched from the side: “Can vegetables be eaten with meat?”

Jian Luo started to steam the rice: “Of course, meat and vegetables should be paired together.”

“It smells good.” His younger brother tilted his head: “I’ve never seen anyone eat it together before.”

Jian Luo smiled and touched his head: “You’ll see it from now on.”

The dishes in the pan were quickly cooked. When Jian Luo opened the pan, there was a fragrant aroma. The soup had turned golden yellow after being boiled. The combination of the meat and the potatoes mixed together was ingenious. The dish was delicious although there were no other condiments and only had its pure, original taste.

Jian Luo tasted it and sighed leisurely: “I still have to find a way to get salt.”

After the rice was steamed, Jian Luo poured the potatoes on top of the rice, fried a box of popcorn and a box of French fries as dessert.

After recording the taste, Jian Luo sent it to Ai Jin.

————

At the military base.

“Marshal.”

Secretary Jin stood at the door respectfully.

The room was huge and the silver walls glowed with cold light. Lu Shifeng just came out of the training room. The front buttons of the military uniform were torn open because the bare hands that could squeeze the cabin door of the warship were showing blue veins at the moment. The handsome face of the man was gentle and elegant, but anyone would know that he was not to be underestimated.

Lu Shifeng lifted his eyes to look at her.

“I brought you the custom-made food.” Secretary Jin hurriedly brought the rice bowl and popcorn.

Lu Shifeng glanced at the meal.

To be honest, the appearance of it was not as good as the aesthetically pleasing food that the Dark Star chefs have crafted. The golden potatoes covered half of the rice and the meat was so dark that he didn’t know what it had gone through.

Secretary Jin put the food on the table: “Taste it.”

Lu Shifeng leaned on the sofa lazily, resting his chin with one hand, and looked at her intensely: “Are you planning on retiring?”

“…”

Secretary Jin’s hand trembled. She knew that the marshal was a very picky person. He not only required the food to taste delicious, but also for the food to look aesthetically pleasing, but she still wanted to press on: “This should be delicious, why don’t you try it? .”

Lu Shifeng didn’t even look at it: “Leave.”

Secretary Jin felt bitter in her heart, but she didn’t dare to disobey the order, so she obediently bent over and covered the rice. In the end, because she was too panicked, she clicked the button that released the smell of the food.

Therefore

Originally, the rice bowl, which could only be seen but not smelt, suddenly exuded a strong aroma of the food inside. Unlike traditional, plain meat, the fragrance of potatoes and the umami of the meat were integrated.

If we say that those beautifully presented dishes were like a high-class princess, then Jian Luo’s bowl of potato rice bowl is more like an unrestrained wild girl.

Secretary Jin’s Adam’s throat bobbed slightly. She carefully carried the meal, preparing to leave.

“Stop.” Lu Shifeng sat up slightly: “Put it down.”

A look of joy flashed in Secretary Jin’s eyes: “Would you like to try it?”

Lu Shifeng didn’t say if he wanted to, waiting for Secretary Jin to put it down before saying, “You can go.”

Secretary Jin didn’t dare to speculate too much on the military commander’s heart, so she put down the meal and slipped away. She never thought that this human really had some talent!

She stayed at the door for a while to wait for Lu Shifeng to call her in for a scolding. However, who knew that Lu Shifeng would not come out even after waiting for a long time? Secretary Jin returned to her position, relieved and picked up Jian Luo’s gift. Taking two bites of the French fries to lose some of her unease.

The little adjutant came over: “What did the marshal say? And where did you get the fries?!”

Secretary Jin ate one fry after another: “That human left a message saying that it was for me.”

“We have a good relationship, so give me two to try.” The little adjutant stretched out his hand eagerly to get one from the box.

How could Secretary Jin let him succeed: “No, there are not many. Plus, the marshal didn’t even get any from me, how would you…?”

“Who didn’t get any?”

A slightly raised male voice came from the door. Secretary Jin turned back stiffly and saw Lu Shifeng standing at the door.

T/N: Hey there! I haven’t slept yet. I’m hoping to pump out these freshly-translated chapters as soon as possible while I still feel the momentous drive to. Do you remember those chocolates I was talking about a few hours ago? I think they’re starting to take a toll on my body… My stomach hurts, and I’m not sure if it’s cause they’re expired or maybe it was cause I didn’t eat enough for dinner lol. Either ways, hope you enjoy this chapter! Make sure to eat well and don’t eat expired dark chocolate~ ≧◠ᴥ◠≦✊

Also, regarding blue veins. Do you like visible veins on yourself or your partner? I personally think veins on myself are a sign and proof of hard work after lifting weights. As long as they are healthy veins, I don’t mind them whether they are aesthetically-pleasing or not. However, do note that excessive varicose veins- bulging or twisted might be a sign of poor vein health. In that case, please do get them checked out. Of course, for women, it is quite normal to have some spider veins on your thighs due to their higher body fat percentage. Don’t be ashamed of them, haha. It’s completely normal 🙂

Chapter 5 – Iron-willed Jian Luo

Chapter 5 – Iron-willed Jian Luo

Jian Luo discussed the live broadcasting with Jiang Jiang.

Jiang Jiang said enthusiastically: “Do not assume that our website is small. I have some funds and plan to place an advertisement in the central square of the empire in two days time and get a screen for a full-day to promote us.”

Jian Luo flatly praised him: “The boss is wise, my admiration for you is endless like a river.”

Jiang Jiang was a little proud: “Not at all! You are the anchor with the best potential in my fancy, so I’m going to push for you to be on camera.”

Jian Luo frowned.

“Originally, I liked your fries.” Jiang Jiang sighed: “But now the situation is very difficult. Your fries have been withheld and you can’t publish it any more.”

Jian Luo was a direct person: “If the one cast on the screens is me, then you’ll have to give me a lot of money, right?”

“…”

Jiang Jiang was silent for a long time: “I have never seen such an upright and direct person like you.”

If it was someone else, no matter what, they wouldn’t directly reveal such a greedy face towards money and would at least be a little more euphemistic about it.

But Jian Luo, this strange creature, was completely different. He opened his mouth and shut his mouth to make money.

Jian Luo held a nutrient solution in his mouth to drink. He was working hard right now without eating proper food or living in good conditions: “Wake up brother. What else should I picture to motivate me to stay and work for you? Your almost anchorless site or your website page?”

Jiang Jiang clutched his chest: “Please continue to picture the money I will pay you.”

“If you give me this opportunity, I won’t necessarily be able to satisfy you.” Jian Luo replied quickly: “But if you liked the french fries, don’t worry about it. I have something that can replace the french fries.”

Jiang Jiang’s eyes lit up: “Really?!”

Jian Luo: “En.”

This fund of Jiang Jiang was an all-in gamble. If this fails, the entire website may go bankrupt. However, if it’s for fries, it doesn’t matter. China’s five thousand years of wisdom was not just talk1He was referring to his own wisdom, probably as a descendent of China, he means to say that he also has 5 thousand years of wisdom..

Jiang Jiang’s heart went up and down before he hesitantly repeated himself 3 times: “Okay!”

Once the idea was finalized, it was onto the preparatory stage.

Jian Luo went out of the room and saw Su Liang who had just woken up from a nap. The woman seemed like she was going back to the farm.

Jian Luo: “Mom.”

Su Liang smiled: “Luoluo, why don’t you sleep a little longer? You’re not fully recovered yet, so you need to rest more.”

Jian Luo shook his head: “No, I’m almost better.”

Su Liang’s skin was a little dull due to her years of hard work. Although her looks were not bad, she was still a bit scarred. She came over to touch Jian Luo’s head, but her hands were also full of scars.

Jian Luo was stiff all over.

He had no parents so he was not used to being so close to people.

Su Liang smiled softly: “It seems you have grown taller.”

Jian Luo’s throat was dry and he responded casually: “En…”

“Mom will go to work.” Su Liang said softly, “You should recuperate at home.”

Jian Luo volunteered himself: “I’ll walk you there.”

Su Liang wanted to say no but he couldn’t bear to shut down Jian Luo’s enthusiasm so she nodded in agreement, so the mother and son packed up and went out.

This was also the first time the current Jian Luo went out.

Every house in the Peace Paradise of the Interstellar Era was a single-family house. The houses are arc-shaped. Every door had a transceiving device similar to a cross, but it was not very clear what they were used for.

The streets were fairly clean but a little depressing and there were hardly any people on the road.

“Yo, isn’t this Ah Liang?”

A somewhat harsh voice came from behind.

Jian Luo frowned subconsciously. He turned around and saw a woman who walked over quickly: “Oh, it’s Luoluo. Auntie2She was refering to herself as auntie was just looking at the guy standing next to your mother, wondering who it was.”

Su Liang was a little embarrassed: “Auntie3Not actually related by blood. Just a familiar way of referring to people who are older than you in chinese culture, like ahjumma in korean. Zhang, who else is there in my family besides Luoluo?”

Auntie Zhang glanced at the both of them with some hidden meaning and a teasing smile on her face: “Don’t be shy, I’ve heard about the incident with that Gao guy and Auntie thinks he is not bad. He’s just a little impatient and not too respectful…”

As she said, Su Liang’s face became even more ugly.

Jian Luo sensed it keenly. He stepped forward with a smile on his face: “Auntie, since he’s not bad, we’ll leave him for you if you want him?”

Auntie Zhang was taken aback.

Jian Luo was good-looking, but he was usually silent and did not like to talk so the residents of this area have never put this quiet boy in their eyes.

Auntie Zhang glared at him: “Your child does not respect his elders at all, does he have no respect?”

There was a bright smile on Jian Luo’s face: “I’m just a bit impatient and not too respectful. Hey, Auntie Zhang, didn’t you just say that such a person is not bad?”

“…”

Auntie Zhang remembered what she had just said, and she was speechless.

Su Liang saw that his son was said to be unruly and the color on his face was not very good: “Auntie, I can handle my own affairs. Don’t speak of this again in the future.”

After she finished speaking, she pulled Jian Luo: “Luoluo, let’s go.”

Jian Luo responded to her. As the smile on his face turned cold, he gave Auntie Zhang a warning look before following slowly.

The human cultivation base was getting closer now.

Jian Luo thought about it while walking all this way and said, “Mom, you should resign.”

Su Liang was stunned for a while, not knowing whether to laugh or cry: “What did my silly child just say?”

“…Nothing.” Jian Luo decided to wait until he’s made enough money before mentioning it again. At that time, he would be more convincing. Now that his mother was at the base monitored by the unified management, those people would not dare bully her, so he changed his words: ” I’ll pick you up tonight.”

Su Liang’s heart warmed up and she nodded lightly: “Okay.”

Only then did Jian Luo wave goodbye at her. In order to motivate her, he raised both hands and pointed to his heart: “You can do this!”

Su Liang was amused: “Okay, okay.”

The next day.

Today was the day when Jian Luo was going to prepare for the live broadcast.

The live broadcast equipment that Jiang Jiang mailed to him has arrived. It was very convenient. It was just a small, transparent ball. When a button was clicked, a light screen with the live chat feed would pop up.

Jiang Jiang sent a message: “Have you received it?”

Jian Luo: “En, I received it.”

Today is the day to try live broadcasting. Because the potatoes at home are to be used two days later, now he can only use corn first.

Let’s simply make some popcorn!

“Beep.”

The small ball finally commenced its work.

The live broadcasting has officially started. However, because there were not many anchors in the entire Xiaopo Station, the netizens had not much of a choice. Soon, one person entered.

Jian Luo had a lively temperament and he smiled brightly: “Hello everyone, welcome to my live broadcast room. Today is my first day I’m live broadcasting. I’m going to make a casual daily snack for everyone.”

There was corn on the table.

Jian Luo was very chatty: “We have to peel the corn first. Peeling corn requires some skill…”

Huahua: Why would you need to peel the corn? It’s delicious when you eat it straight. 】

A barrage4In China’s version of Youtube or streaming websites like Bilibili, comments usually fly across the screen of the video in real time. floated past, Jian Luo glanced at the number of people in the live broadcast room and there was still only one person. It was really hard to believe that she hadn’t left.

Jian Luo said smoothly: “Boiled corn definitely doesn’t need to be peeled. We need to peel it to make popcorn.”

He stood by the stove and the small ball naturally took a picture of the scene of his home. Just as Jian Luo had peeled the corn, he heard a barrage flash across:

Huaguo: Where is this? Why is your place so dilapidated? 】

Before Jian Luo could speak, the person left the live broadcasting room.

“…”

He felt like he had just eaten shit.

The other audience member who had been there also saw this and was silent for a while:

“Actually, it’s not that bad.”

Jian Luo had a bright smile on his face when he saw the comment: “Thank you.”

In fact, he’s been a blogger for a long time and he could tolerate any comments. His psychological endurance was not too bad. In addition, among the interstellar people, there were also nice people, so he feels much better.

The pot is already hot.

Jian Luo used a small piece of corn to extract a little bit of glucose from it last night. He poured the sugar on the corn kernels and stirred: “Popcorn needs to be sweet to taste good.”

Huahua: What are you pouring? Is it really edible? 】

Kitten: Is the anchor wasting food! 】

Po Li: It looks like a child playing house. Are humans starting to do this sort of thing to attract attention? 】

Unconsciously, as the live broadcast continued, more people came in, and the comments were mixed.

Seeing that the pot was already hot, Jian Luo put the corn kernels in first and kept stirring with the spatula: “Everyone, be careful not to burn them when you make them yourself.”

The oil in the pot was sizzling and the corn was soaked in oil, and crackling could be heard.

Jian Luo has been stirring for quite a while as the heat slowly began to rise, which made the Dark Star people feel quite curious.

Huahua: Oil? Why not boil it in water? 】

Soon, the first corn popped, and slowly, the other corn kernels also began to pop. The golden corn absorbed the glucose, and a sweet smell soon wafted out.

Jian Luo smiled when he saw that the food was about to be finished cooking.

People outside the live broadcast were also curious. Some people said they didn’t want any, but their eyes kept staring honestly otherwise.

“En…” Jian Luo frowned when he put one in his mouth.

The audience’s hearts were also pounding.

Jian Luo’s eyes slowly wrinkled into a smile: “It was a little hot just now, but it’s delicious.”

“What does it taste like?”

“He’s not pretending.”

“It looks weird, I won’t eat it anyway.”

Jian Luo recorded the taste of the food and uploaded his first recipe entry before saying to the audience, “Thank you for supporting me today, see you tomorrow.”

Then the live broadcast was closed without waiting for everyone’s reaction.

He was very tired.

Jian Luo wanted to take a break after the live broadcast. But who knew that there would be a message notification from his bracelet after taking a few steps. He clicked on the message:

Ai Jin: “Hello, I’m Colonel Ai Jin from the military base. I’m very sorry to bother you. I want to negotiate with you about ordering meals.”

Jian Luo was taken aback: “Who are you and where did you get my number?”

Was this not a scam? For the military base of Dark Star to have contacted him, is like for a country’s leader to suddenly ring up an ordinary citizen and ask: I want to come over for dinner.

Was that possible?

Normal people would know that it’s impossible for it to happen.

Ai Jin hurriedly sent his plaque over: “I am indeed Colonel Ai Jin. As for finding your information number, I used my connections…”

How did you explain this?

After using the Lightbrain to confirm his identity, Jian Luo was puzzled: “You just said you wanted to order a meal?”

Seeing that there was a chance, Ai Jin hurriedly said: “Yes, we want you to make a customized meal. The requirements will be relatively high, but the salary we are offering is also high. As long as you can do it well, money won’t be a problem.”

The fries.

This was because of those fries earlier.

Also did he say customized?

It’s not that Jian Luo was prejudiced, he really thinks that all the Dark Stars are all snobby and high up on their horses!

Ha ha.

If you want to eat that, it is impossible. Plus, Jianluo will never give in!

Jian Luo typed loudly: “I’m sorry you thought too highly of me. I can’t make customized meals so I hope you won’t come to find me again in the future…”

At the same time, Ai Jin sent another message:

“I know it’s presumptuous. Here, I will pay 2w star coins as a deposit to show my sincerity. After you are successful, the salary will be higher…”

Jian Luo slowly ate his own words and coughed lightly, “This isn’t something that’s impossible to discuss further.”

T/N: Ah my head gonna explode and my eyes are going to go blind! Jeez, so many old proverbs and idioms everywhere ahhh! Chapter 4 – This woman dares to defy me?

Chapter 4 – This woman dares to defy me?

The moderator was stunned.

He was a Dark Star and was born with great pride.

His current mood was like this: I have taken the initiative to sign with you using all my dignity, but this lowly woman1 he’s probably unsure of Jian Luo’s gender and just assumed his gender dares to defy me!? That was what he was feeling.

The colleague next to him was still waiting to eat the french fries. When he saw something was amiss, he quickly asked, “What’s wrong?”

The moderator was silent for a while before saying, “He’s a human.”

“Human!?” The colleague was so surprised that he almost bit his tongue: “This was really surprising. It’s a fact that humans are almost useless other than for growing those vegetables. Even if they are innovative, the proportion of human anchors on live broadcasting websites is only 1%…”

It was really rare nowadays that a human being will get this hard-won opportunity.

The colleague smiled and said, “After the contract is signed, show me his photo.”

The moderator turned the panel to him: “He chose not to sign.”

? ? ?

There was a dead silence in the air.

The colleague came over like a hungry tiger and his eyes were widened: “Is he crazy!? Not signing a contract?”

The moderator pursed his lips: “He was ambitious and not satisfied with the distribution of profits.”

The colleague snorted and understood: “This attitude was not ordinary as a human. Did he wish to be on an equal footing with Dark Stars?”

The moderator was still puzzled.

Such a clever mind, he thought that this person was a good seedling, but his human attitude was too much and not easy to deal with..

After thinking about it again and again, he replied to ‘Jian Nan’: “You have to think carefully.

There is no better place than us. You are a human being, and it is even more rare to get such an opportunity. Don’t ruin your future.”

‘Jian Nan’ at the other end was making potato pancakes and when he saw the new message, he clicked it, sneered, before simply ignoring it.

It is true that he was quite short on money and could not afford to be arrogant, but it was just a small difficulty.

His younger brother came over and said, “Brother, it smells so good.”

Jian Luo felt that the potato pancakes were almost ready and shoveled it out of the pot. The potato pancakes that just came out of the pot were golden in color, with a crispy film on the outside, but soft inside. The aroma of potatoes seemed to be integrated within the flour, the smell provoking the taste buds.

Su Liang said next to him, “How did you come up with this, Luoluo? This pancake is so fragrant.”

Jian Luo smiled slightly: “Let’s try it.”

Both of them picked up the chopsticks and took a bite each. Although the potato pancakes looked strange and even burnt in some places, this did not hinder the rich aroma and its soft and glutinous taste!

His younger brother’s eyes lit up and he finished eating the potato pancakes in a few seconds.

Eh.

He was eating too fast.

Jian Luo also gave him what was in his bowl: “Eat this.”

His younger brother couldn’t believe it. Although he wanted to eat it, he didn’t touch it: “Brother, you eat it, I’m full.”

Jian Luo waved his hand: “Brother is growing now and needs to drink nutrient solution, so I’ll give you this.”

His younger brother was a child after all, so he was easily fooled: “Really?”

Jian Luo burst into tears in his heart, with a smile on his face: “Really.”

After that, the potato pancakes were finished.

After the family ate, there was still some time left from lunch break and Jian Luo lay on the cramped bed as he continued to watch the Food Network.

He has generally browsed through on the basics of this website. The anchors mostly rely on making meat delicacies, so there were very few vegetable dishes.

The posted fries now have a total of 160 million hits and 500 comments.

Jian Luo swiped down to read the comments:

“Why hasn’t the anchor signed a contract yet, this annoying little fox.”

“I’ve already refreshed this page eight hundred times.”

“It’s already been a day, why is the website so slow!”

The various feedbacks showed that French fries not only conquered the human beings in the 21st century, but also conquered the stomachs of interstellar people.

If the response of the fries were not this good, then Jian Luo may really have signed the terms that were worthy of humiliating his race, but now the question was, it seems that the response towards the fries were not bad, so could he bet on them?

Just as he was thinking about it, his terminal beeped from a private message.

Jian Luo clicked open the private message and found that it was not the moderator, but a message from a person named “Jiang Jiang”: “Hello, I am the person in charge of Jinjiang Live Broadcasting Network, I have tasted the food you made, I am very interested, would you like to join our website?”

At the end of the message, he left a contact.

Jian Luo hesitated to add him. After adding him, the other party accepted his add request almost immediately and was still very excited: “Hello, hello, are you Luoluo? I’m the person in charge of Jinjiang Live Broadcasting Network, you can call me Jiang Jiang. You may not have heard of me or our website, but don’t worry, we…”

Next, he took a long time to introduce the website.

Jian Luo said, “Can you send me the link to your live broadcasting network?”

Jiang Jiang hurriedly said, “Yes, yes!”

He sent a link and Jian Luo clicked on it. It took a long time to load, and opened up to a full screen of green, which can be said to be very pleasant.

The layout of the website was simple and clear. At a glance, there are few anchors, and almost close to none.

Jiang Jiang waited for a while: “Do you have any questions?”

“Why is your website so laggy?” Jian Luo asked, truly confused, “Is it a problem with my internet speed?”

Jiang Jiang was suspiciously silent for a few seconds: “We just built the website, so the server hasn’t been upgraded yet.”

Jian Luo had some doubts but this person had a good attitude, so he asked, “What about the benefits, do you have any benefits for signing newcomers?”

Jiang Jiang was excited: “Of course, if you are willing to sign with us, it’ll be 3 to 7. You get 7 and we will get 3!”

Jian Luo’s eyes lit up.

He and Jiang Jiang then confirmed some matters. Just in case, he did not sign a long-term contract, but a three-month contract. If the following upgraded website was strong and he can make money, he will continue to sign.

Jiang Jiang agreed immediately.

To be honest, if it wasn’t for the fact that this was a legitimate website, with such an earnest attitude, Jian Luo would have doubts about whether this person was a scammer.

Jian Luo: “If that’s the case, then I’ll take the fries off their site.”

He is someone who just does what he says, so he took the initiative to contact the moderator: “Hello, I’m sure I won’t sign with you for the time being so please take my food off the site.”

When the moderator saw Jian Luo’s message box light up, he thought he had finally thought it out, so a smile appeared on his lips, thinking that Jian Luo finally came to his senses. However, when he opened it, he was stunned when he saw his message: “Are you sure?”

Jian Luo: “Very sure.”

“There is no place with more traffic than our website.” The moderator reminded him: “And once it is on our site, it can only be discontinued. We do not allow the food that has been on the site to be sold elsewhere.”

? ? ?

What an unfair clause?

Jian Luo was a little angry: “What do you mean? Where I sell my food is my own right!”

The moderator explained: “Our website does have this rule, sorry and thanks for your cooperation.”

Jian Luo went to check it out and found that there really is this overlord clause. He was silent for a while, and then sent a message: “Then you will take the fries off the site and won’t sell them, right?”

“You can rest assured that we will only keep the records and do not have the right to sell them.”

“Okay.”

Jian Luo directly closed the message box.

At the same time, the fries under his account were removed from the site.

The Dark Star crowd who had been waiting so hard were still waiting for the contract to be put on the site, but when the page was refreshed, suddenly no…?

Everyone was a little dumbfounded:

“Is there something wrong with my eyes?”

“Ah, ah, ah, I just ate one bite.”

“If you said earlier that you were going to take it off the site, I’d switch to a few alt accounts to try a few more bites.”

Not only were the netizens mourning all over the place, but even the little adjutant who had been guarding the military base was stunned. He even refreshed the web page uncertaintly.

Secretary Jin happened to pass by: “What’s the matter with you?”

The adjutant said with grief and indignation: “Those french fries are gone!”

Secretary Jin frowned and walked over quickly: “What’s gone?”

The two of them refreshed the page and they were both dumbfounded, especially Secretary Jin, who was even more grieved and indignant: “How can this anchor be taken off the site like this! What should I do about the marshal? He is so difficult to serve, am I going to be…”

“Going to be what?”

A lazy, half-pressuring voice came from behind.

Secretary Jin was stunned. She turned slowly and saw the man standing at the door. Lu Shifeng’s tall and straight body, as straight as a pinetree, was leaning against the wall. His dark green military uniform wrapped in a slender but explosive waist that was full of strength. As well as his handsome and angular facial features. At this moment his pair of eyes were slightly narrowed and there was some murderous intent in that smile.

“Mar-Marshal.” A layer of cold sweat broke out from Secretary Jin’s back as she turned to her commendable IQ as a Dark Star: “I was talking about your rushed daily schedule and that I didn’t serve you well, arent’ I too incompetent?”

Lu Shifeng raised his eyebrows: “Oh?”

Secretary Jin smiled.

“Is that what she meant?” Lu Shifeng slowly looked at the adjutant again.

Being stared at by the man felt like being stared at by an extremely vicious beast and he felt like he may die in the next second.

The little adjutant was stiff and trembling: “Yes, that’s what she meant.”

Slowly, a sneer appeared on Lu Shifeng’s mouth.

It was a smile that the hunter showed when he was playing with extremely small prey: “Originally, I came here to say that from today onwards, you don’t need to give me actual food. The nutrient solution will do.”

Secretary Jin froze.

“However, since you are so loyal, this marshal won’t spare you the chance before you prove yourselves.”

Lu Shifeng lifted his eyelids to look at her: “I’m sure Secretary Jin will not disappoint me, hmm?”

“…”

No, no, no… this lowly one can’t do it!

Secretary Jin wanted to cry without tears but she knew even more that if she didn’t grasp this opportunity, with Marshal’s devious character, something even worse might happen!

So Secretary Jin had to bite the bullet and respond: “Don’t worry, I will not disappoint you.”

Lu Shifeng gave a light “um”, turned and left.

As soon as he left, the suffocating pressure in the entire space seemed to disappear. The adjutant and Secretary Jin breathed a sigh of relief at the same time.

The little deputy patted his chest: “That scared me to death, that really scared me to death. I thought I was going to die.”

The oppression from more advanced species was really overwhelming.

Secretary Jin gave him a look: “If we can’t get food that will satisfy the marshal by tomorrow, trust me, we will die for real.”

The little adjutant’s face turned white.

“Well, is it still too late to be discharged from the army now?” His brain was obviously not online.

Secretary Jin sneered: “Don’t mention leaving the army. Unless you can leave the entire universe, it’s easy for Lu Shifeng to pick out who he wants to die.”

“…”

The little adjutant was flabbergasted.

Secretary Jin thought about it and looked at the page that was removed from the site and said cruelly: “Even if there’s no hope left, let’s try our best. We only have one choice and that is to take the risk!”

T/N: I haven’t been sleeping well these few days, kinda worried about my own future. But ey, that’s good news for yall! Means that I’ll be up translating chapters more often hehe

Well, everyone’s been there, done that, right? Well, I hope me and you will both be able to pass through the classic trials and tribulations of life in the near future. As for the distant future, let’s just think about that some other time.

Seeing Jian Luo face discrimination really hit me close to home and made me think for a bit. I hope wherever you are, that you never have to face any sort of hate or rude treatment just for being a certain race or have a certain preference (as long as you are not hurting anyone). I hope this pandemic ends soon too and we can all get back to our normal lives. Whether you’re a student or working adult, whoever you are, I hope you the very best in life. Drink water 🙂 and try to exercise if you can, it might be tiring but it really is good for you and will pay off when you’re old. And… even if you think that you won’t last that long to reach even your 40s, I believe exercise will also help with your emotions. It helped a little with mine at least haha… er it’s so late here so I’m getting a little philosophical oops. Sorry for ranting, but if you read till here, owo thanks?

I know I don’t really reply to many comments, but I’m just afraid I might say something out of line so the notes I leave here are kinda my selfish way of speaking thoughtlessly without having to face any repercussions I guess. ASDF… I’m going to end this here! See you in the next chapter 🙂

Chapter 3 – The Marshal is a picky eater

Chapter 3 – The Marshal is a picky eater

The Dark Star gourmet audits follow a certain procedure.

First of all, the newly submitted dishes will be pushed to the latest creation page for the netizens to review. If there are 10 people who have tasted it, at least 7 people will need to give a passing review. Only then will this dish be certified.

When this oddly shaped potato hit the shelves, it was not too popular.

But there will always be those who are curious.

People in this interstellar age liked to cook meat, so many of the food columns consist of meat recipes with new tricks. New vegetable dishes are rarely added. It’s not that vegetables are not delicious, but the variety of vegetables are few and there is no need for new recipes if they are just boiled over and over again…

Therefore!

When a smear of yellow appeared amongst the clumps of meat, the potato managed to catch the attention of many.

Soon, many people of the Dark Star ordered this dish out of curiosity. As soon as they received their order, they found that this potato was different from the soft, glutinous boiled potatoes they had in the past. This one looked hard.

As soon as they saw this, some people frowned and almost gave a failing review without trying it first.

It was too vile to be wasting food and vegetables for the sake of attracting attention!

But their curiosity was too great, so when they gave the recipe a taste, it led to reviews like this…

“Wtf, these are not the potatoes I know.”

“fvck boiling potatoes!”

“God, it’s so delicious.”

Originally, the people of Dark Star thought that boiled potatoes were delicious. However, on this day, everyone felt the fear of being seduced by deep-fried food. For a time, almost all those who have tasted it gave it a passing review, resulting in the passing rate of up to 90% after tasting the dish.

“Hurry and mass produce these!”

“It tastes so damn sweet.”

“Potatoes have successfully caught my attention.”

Such a high pass rate not only attracted diners, but naturally also the attention of the platform’s moderator.

The platform moderator found this anomaly while sorting the data on a daily basis: “How could there be such a high pass rate?”

A colleague came over and took a look: “Did many newly registered accounts give it a passing review repeatedly in order to get it certified?”

It’s not like this has never happened before. Some anchors were not good at cooking so they used underhanded methods.

The platform’s moderator also looked at it seriously: “I will contact the system management to check it out.”

Their colleagues also felt strange when they saw the data so they simply stopped working to watch the commotion: “It’s been a long time since we last scanned the data.”

The big data brain sifted through the data.

The final conclusion was slowly presented on the screen: [No similar accounts]

It was inconclusive!

This time, the platform moderator and their colleagues were stunned. Apart from a few popular anchors, currently no one could achieve a pass rate of over 90%!

The colleagues were all hyperventilating: “Quick, try and taste it.”

The moderator was also curious and hurriedly grabbed some virtual fries from the terminal before giving it to a colleague: “Taste it.”

What the system recorded was the most optimal time when the fries tasted the best, which was when they were fresh out of the pan.

It was golden, crispy and warm. It drastically changed from the soft and glutinous texture they were familiar with. The aroma of the plants seems to be concentrated by the oil. It is crispy and oily but not greasy. It was wonderful.

The moderator and the colleague looked at each other before falling silent.

After half an hour has passed.

The colleague said: “I still want to eat some.”

The moderator said: “We can’t eat it anymore. According to the terminal, we can only taste this unsigned product once.”

It wasn’t just them who felt this way, there were others too.

All those who have tried two bites of the french fries felt frantically refreshed but after they saw that the product was not yet available for purchase, the comments area was full of grief.

“Has the anchor not signed a contract yet?”

“I’ll order 10 first!”

“I just contacted my friends. They all said I was just exaggerating and that there’s no better way than boiling it!”

The colleague looked at the comments with a smile: “It is estimated that the Dark Star chef has started something new. Hurry up! Hurry up and sign a contract with him. Contact this anchor!”

A military base stood above Sky City’s planet. It looked like it was only the size of an island but it is the most solid military force on the entire planet.

In the Empire, the three most powerful factions were:

The Sacrificial Church, with their divine powers that reach the skies;

The Consortium, who control and are the lifeline of the empire’s economy; and

The military who lead the armed forces.

“Secretary Jin.” The little adjutant sitting outside stopped the woman who came out: “Are you alright?”

The woman known as Secretary Jin stopped. It was no surprise that she was a very beautiful woman, with boastful breasts, slender thighs and tame blonde hair. Her delicate and beautiful face however, was full of sorrow at the moment.

The little adjutant guessed: “The Marshal… hasn’t eaten yet?”

Secretary Jin nodded.

The little adjutant’s mood also sank. This was the most difficult time for the entire army. Their Marshal was extremely picky about food. They were not anorexic but paid close attention to it and were extremely picky.

The top chef in the universe was placed in front of The Marshal; but after taking two bites slowly, he gave an evaluation: “Plain.”

He gave the chef such a big blow that he almost packed up and went back to his hometown.

Secretary Jin sighed, “Originally, the marshal was willing to eat a few bites of this current chef’s cooking but he won’t eat any now.”

The adjutant’s mood became even more difficult: “The marshal usually goes out to the battle field and because of conditions then, he could only drink the nutrient solution. Now peace has been restored to the interstellar worlds, but he still can’t eat delicious food. It is inevitable that his mood will become worse.”

If he was in a bad mood, the pitiful ones will soon be them.

Secretary Jin noticed the golden coloured food in the adjutant’s hand: “What are you holding?”

“Oh, you’re talking about this?” The adjutant took the fries and casually put them into his mouth before chewing twice: “Nothing special, it was just uploaded by a new anchor on the list…”

Halfway through chewing them, he stopped.

Secretary Jin wondered: “Were you… poisoned?”

The adjutant’s eyes widened and he couldn’t believe the taste in his mouth. It was crispy and soft. The aroma of potatoes was brought out by the oil. The momentary revelry of his taste buds were fleeting, making its scent addicting!

“I…” The adjutant shivered and looked at Secretary Jin: “Secretary, we have a good relationship, right?”

Secretary Jin narrowed her eyes: “What are you going to do?”

A few minutes later–

They logged into the Food Network with Secretary Jin’s information terminal and successfully swiped down for french fries with her account. The adjutant smiled happily.

Then before he could eat it, Secretary Jin put the fries in her mouth.

The next second, a moment of surprise appeared on Secretary Jin’s face.

The adjutant looked forward to her appraisal: “How is it? Isn’t it delicious?”

Secretary Jin was silent for a while: “Order 20 copies to be sent here.”

“What are you doing eating this much? Aren’t you trying to lose weight?”

The adjutant muttered: “It’s from a newcomer and he hasn’t signed a contract yet.”

Secretary Jin touched her chin: “Do you think the marshal would like to eat this?”

The adjutant subconsciously said: “How is that possible? The marshal only eats the cooking of Interstellar Chefs. As for this little-known person…”

Halfway through he was silent.

After all, the fries were delicious too.

The two looked at each other and said in unison, “Let’s buy it and try!”

————

And here, the creator of French fries, Jian Luo was at home, hard at work peeling corn.

Jian Luo sat under a tree in the yard. The corn was freshly harvested from his home. They usually peeled them and handed them over so they could be exchanged for star coins to support the family’s living expenses.

The younger brother squatted on the ground while he was peeling them. There was sweat dripping from his head.

Jian Luo tossed the corn aside: “Ah Sheng, do we have watermelons here?”

What was the essence of summer? Watermelons!

In the scorching heat, to pick a big, sweet and refreshing watermelon to chill before cutting it open and taking a bite into it…

His younger brother, Jian Sheng raised his head: “What is a watermelon?”

Jian Luo snapped his attention out of his imagination: “Okay, just pretend I didn’t say that.”

After a while, he will go on the Internet to find the fruit. If it wasn’t for the fact that there were a lot of high-tech things here, he would’ve suspected that he was not in the future, but in ancient times.

Su Liang came out of the house: “It’s hot now so don’t sit there. Go inside and rest for a while, mom saved some oil today.”

Jian Sheng’s eyes lit up: “We’re eating French fries?!”

Su Liang patted her younger son’s head: “En.”

Jian Luo stood up slowly behind: “Mom, how many potatoes do you have? Let’s not eat french fries today, it does not fill the stomach.”

Su Liang said, “One left.”

“That’s fine, let’s make a potato pancake and eat it.” Jian Luo smiled: “That way we can eat more.”

Su Liang was taken aback for a moment. She had never heard of such a thing, but seeing her son’s assured appearance, she suddenly felt confident.

Her son has changed a lot after the incident, his personality has also become cheerful.

That’s good, Su Liang thought, although the family was not rich, as long as her two sons could be well. She will be able to rest well even if she dies.

“Ding!”

There was a sound from Jian Luo’s information terminal. He opened the message and found that it was a message sent to him by the food website.

He clicked on it and there was a message inbox. A person named [Moderator] sent a message: “Hello, your food has passed our preliminary review. We intend to sign a contract with you, please provide your resident ID and photo.”

Jian Luo thought for a while: “Do you provide any benefits?”

He’s not stupid. How can he sign the contract when it comes up and not talk about the benefits? Could you be more realistic? Everyone talks about money these days, okay?

The other party was stunned for a while. He didn’t think that there would be such direct people in this world!

The moderator thought for a while: “Platform users are able to give ratings out of 5/5 points. If someone buys your food and gives it a 5/5, we will recommend it on our page based on your popularity. As the largest live broadcast network, it won’t hurt to sign up with us here.”

Jian Luo thought about it. That seemed reasonable. He then said, “I don’t have a Dark Star registration, I only have a temporary Peace Paradise household registration. Will that be a problem?”

After the message was sent, there was no reply.

The moderator himself was stunned. He thought that such a clever mind should’ve been a qualified chef, or a newcomer with an aura, but the other party was actually just a human!

Jian Luo waited for a long time: “I can’t sign?”

“No.” The moderator hesitated before replying: “If you have a Peace Paradise account, the ratio will be 7 to 3.”

Jian Luo: “7 for me and 3 for you?”

“…”

Moderator said: “7 for us and 3 for you.”

???

It’s been a long time in Jian Luo’s life since he has suffered from this kind of anger!

What was this, racism?!

Unreasonable!

“Reason.” Jian Luo said simply: “I need a reasonable explanation.”

The moderator could feel the anger of this human being through the screen. He said: “Because humans live on the Dark Star and are blessed by the Dark Star. However their contribution is negligible, so your contributions to the Dark Star are deserved.”

“…”

What a righteous front.

What an irrefutable reasoning.

Jian Luo was silent for a while before replying. “Okay.”

The moderator was happy: “Are you signing the contract?”

Jian Luo: “I’m sorry, let’s work together again next time if fate allows it.”
