Chapter 50 – Bygone old friends

Chapter 50 – Bygone old friends

Xing Zhongwan went down the slope, got into the car parked on the side of the road, lit a cigarette and took a deep breath. Xue Qing looked at his face that was half-hidden under his sunglasses as he tapped the watch on his wrist. “Should we go?” Xing Zhongwan said to himself with a cigarette in one hand and the car window in the other. “People are most afraid of obsessions. The most difficult thing to do is let go.”

Xue Qing slapped him on the forehead, “Clear your head! If you want to leave the house from now on, there’ll be no door for you to leave. This sister will take care of you till you’re old!”

Xing Zhongwan couldn’t hold the cigarette in his sore hand. “Sister, my head is made of flesh and I don’t wear a steel helmet on my head. With how you’re hitting it, I’m going to get a concussion. You don’t know your own strength!”

Xue Qing started the car, “It seems that your brain is not broken. That’s still the Xing Zhongwan I know.”

Xing Zhongwan was stunned for a while before he was interrupted by the car window closing, “There are so many ladies in the world, without me they will cry.”

Xue Qing glanced at him with disgust, “Forget about what I just said.”

Xing Zhongwan crossed over and hugged her before whispering a thank you.

Xue Qing patted him on the back, laughed and called him a fool.

Qi Yun’s surgery went smoothly as expected. Xing Zhongwan had a few chats with Professor Gao and the answers they got were very reassuring.

Xing Zhongwan watched Qi Yun, who was still in a coma, through the glass window at the door of the ward, lying there quietly like an enchanted prince. In a short period of time, he has changed a lot. Xing Zhongwan glanced inside his pocket and found that there were no more cigarettes. As soon as he turned around, there was an extra pack of cigarettes in front of him. Xing Zhongwan took it and nodded at Chen Ying, “A stick of cigarette for me?”

“I want to apologize to you. I didn’t think carefully about the photo.”

Xing Zhongwan waved his hand and said he didn’t mind. Chen Ying hesitated as he looked at the young man with beautiful eyebrows and almost sharp eyes.

“I’m going to leave after Young Master Yun’s eyes recover. The chairman transferred me overseas. I might not have the chance to see you again in the future. I want to tell you something.”

Chen Ying straightened his back, “Master Yun, he is really good. He cares about you and is very happy with you. Needless to say, that kind of happiness can be felt through his eyes. I used to worry that you would become his weakness, but now that I understand more, you are his hope.”

As Chen Ying said these words, his entire person felt decadent. In his years of experience, he really never thought that Qi Yun would fall in love with a man. This fact caught him off guard, but he had to face it. Meeting him again, Xing Zhongwan’s change made Chen Ying flustered, he felt that the young master might lose this man.

Xing Zhongwan extinguished the cigarette in his hand, took off his jacket and held it in his arms, “No one should be anyone’s hope. Everyone is fickle.”

Xing Zhongwan opened the door and went out. Only Chen Ying was left in that narrow space when the phone in his pocket rang.

“Secretary Chen. The chairman is critically ill.”

Qi Yun woke up the next morning. He opened his mouth and moved his hand slightly beside his hospital bed as if he was looking for something. The nurse bent down and listened for a long time before realizing he was asking for Wanwan.

Xing Zhongwan entered the ward and held Qi Yun’s hand. At that moment, the person on the bed became quiet.

Xing Zhongwan approached Qi Yun and whispered in his ear, “The operation was successful. You’ll be able to see after a period of recovery. Have a good rest and just go to sleep if you want.”

Qi Yun moved his lips, his voice was very soft, “I…want to see…you.”

Xing Zhongwan sat up slowly, knowing that Qi Yun had fallen asleep again.

Taking out the hand he was holding, Xing Zhongwan took a box out from his pocket and put it on the head of his bed.

He got up and kissed Qi Yun’s gauze-wrapped head. Fairy sister, you will be fine. As for us, we will never see each other again.

Xing Zhongwan left the ward and Xue Qing was waiting for him. She took him by the shoulders, “Hey, go back and get your hair done by teacher Tony.”

“Why does everyone who does styling call themselves Tony?”

“You think too much! Don’t let go of yourself. Be good and go back to work. Think about those little beauties who are waiting for you, big boss. You should get back to business!”

Xing Zhongwan’s slender arms were folded behind his head, “Let’s go back home.” He turned his head and met Xue Qing with a smile. Let’s just treat it all as a fever dream.

When Qi Yun woke up again, Xing Zhongwan had already left the country.

His headache was prominent and there was also an inexplicable ache in his heart. Qi Yun knew that there was someone around him, but it was not Wanwan. He asked in a low voice, “Where is Wanwan?”

After a while, Chen Ying said, “The young madam has something to do so he went back to Jiangnan. He will come back when he is done.”

Qi Yun was stunned for a moment and did not make a sound. Chen Ying knew that it was wrong to lie to him that Xing Zhongwan had left. Qi Yun would know about it sooner or later, but he must not know about it now.

Chen Ying walked out of the ward. When someone noticed him, they walked up to him and whispered, “I can’t find the young madam.”

“What about his flight information?”

“The young madam’s name was not found. All overseas flights have been checked, but we did not find anything. We also included a list of all the expats but the young madam’s name was not found. We don’t have enough authority to carry out more complex information checks.”

Chen Ying had a headache and he suddenly felt that Wanwan was a fictional character.

Before he came to the hospital, Shen Qinghong told him that once the child disappeared, no one should try to find him as they won’t be able to find it.

Chen Ying was worried. He glanced at the ward. What should he do? If Qi Yun knew that Wanwan was gone… He really didn’t dare to think about it.

Qi Yun woke up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat. The little nurse by his side asked him if he was uncomfortable. Qi Yun raised his hand and touched the gauze on his head, followed by the one on his eyes, “Where is Wanwan?” He asked with a hoarse voice. The nurse went out to call Chen Ying, who was guarding the door.

“Master Yun?” What is your order?”

“Where is Wanwan?” Qi Yun repeated. Chen Ying said, “The young madam went to Jiangnan.”

“How about late at night?” “Qi Yun didn’t seem to listen to Chen Ying’s answer.

“The young madam has gone to Jiangnan.” “Chen Ying bit the bullet and said it again.

“Where is Wanwan?” The hoarse voice became more and more emotional.

“Master Yun!” Chen Ying knelt in front of the hospital bed, “The young madam has gone to Jiangnan, he…”

Qi Yun raised his hand to cover his aching heart, “Wanwan left me. I dreamed that he left. During this time, he won’t leave me to go to Jiangnan unless he doesn’t want me anymore.”

The corners of Chen Ying’s mouth twitched as he pinched himself tightly, “Master Yun, the young madam, he really…”

“He’s gone, he’s gone…”

In the quiet ward, Qi Yun’s deep voice kept repeating these words and Chen Ying couldn’t bear to look so he turned his head away. No matter what he said at this time, it would be futile.

After that night, Qi Yun seemed to have changed into a different person. He became quiet and silent. Everything was out of control as Chen Ying feared. Qi Yun’s eyes recovered well and he could see some images vaguely but they never talked about Xing Zhongwan again. There was also something Chen Ying had to pass to Qi Yun.

It was the bracelet after it was repaired very well. The golden phoenix pattern had been carved to skillfully cover up the cracks from the past, as though it had never been broken before. Qi Yun stroked the pattern on it very carefully.

“No wonder he had a bandage on his hand last time, after he abruptly broke it. He must’ve hurt so much.”

Qi Yun muttered to himself, as if he was just talking to himself.

“I thought I could wait until the day he told me his name.”

“I wanted to see what he looked like. I really wanted to. When I was blind, I had countless fantasies about what he would look like, but now I don’t even have the chance to ask for his face. Not any more.”

Chen Ying wanted to appease Qi Yun, but what should he say? No matter how much he consoled him, it wouldn’t be as good as Xing Zhongwan himself.

“We searched for all the information regarding entry and exit from this country, but we couldn’t find the young madam.”

Qi Yun said nothing. Chen Ying bowed down, “Master Yun, the chairman is dying. Please go see her for the last time.”

The silence was enough to suffocate a person.

Qi Yun’s right hand rested on the Buddha bead on his left wrist, “What’s his name?”

Chen Ying raised his head in surprise and Qi Yun’s cold and pale face was blank, “What’s his name?”

Chen Ying silently said three words11.Xing 2.Zhong 3.Wan.

Qi Yun said, “Get out.”

“Yun’er, it’s a pity that the child is a boy. If he were a girl, grandma would definitely ask her to be your daughter-in-law.” This is what his grandma often said jokingly.

Back then in the hospital…

“Your Aunt Xing is not in good health. Take the little brother out to play later.”

“Sister, you are so beautiful.”

“Yun’er, how could you just let go of the little brother’s hand? How impolite.”

“He called me sister. I don’t look like a girl anymore. I don’t like him. He’s dirty and disgusting.”

“Yun’er, have you visited Aunt Xing and the little brother? Grandma is dying. I really want to see them again before I die.”

The boy suddenly remembered that he had thrown the teacakes into the trash can. He didn’t intend to look back, but he saw that child’s eyes filled with some sadness that didn’t belong to his age.

In Jiangnan, when Qi Yun asked Xing Zhongwan, “Have you seen me when I was a teenager?”

The other only covered it up.

The dirty little boy looked at him with adoration on his face.

“Sister, you look so pretty. After I’m all grown up, will you marry me?”

Qi Yun couldn’t stand up straight in pain. His eyes were red as he covered his eyes, but there were still tear stains seeping from between his fingers .

The Xing family has always been full of people. Qi Yun, Qi Yun, why didn’t you think that Wanwan could be Xing Zhongwan?

How could there be someone who was so inexplicably kind to him, even with a body that he hated himself? He had been taking good care of him for so long but he left without saying a word. He already told him that he will never forgive deception. He knew it, he knew it all, but why didn’t he ask him a single question? It’s okay for you to just scold me twice. It’s better than you leaving silently.

“Look at the child’s eyes and you’ll know that he is a good boy. Yun’er, he is a good boy but it’s a pity. Even if you both can’t get married, it’s good enough if you can grow up together, it really is a pity.”

Qi Yun was in distress and couldn’t sit still. He crouched down as his fists turned red from clenching them too tightly, leaving marks.

The pain in his heart made him unable to bear it any longer,

Ah… Ah… Ah!

Whyy?!

It was like he was strangled by the neck, unable to make a full-syllable sound.

The rough cry was intermittent with unspeakable pain deeply embedded in every word. The shouting alarmed the bodyguards at the door, but Chen Ying stopped the person who was about to rush in. There was then some muffled crying from inside.

Chen Ying dismissed the bodyguards and the little nurse did not dare to go in with the tray. Chen Ying waved her away as the little nurse looked inside worriedly before sighing and turning away.

The ward soon regained its tranquility and Chen Ying knocked on the door. Qi Yun sat in the wheelchair with his back to him. His thin back was crumpled, as if his whole self had spirited away and there was not a trace of anger left in his hoarse voice.

“Take me to see Shen Qinghong.”

Chapter 49 – Don’t read into the past and live up to one’s original intentions

Chapter 49 – Don’t read into the past and live up to one’s original intentions

Qi’s fourth young master was dragged out of the ward as Qi Yun’s chest fluctuated violently. Qi’s fourth young master’s words made him nervous. Yes, he was also a scumbag and he’s done a very stupid thing to get Wanwan. He should have confessed, but he dared not to. Only god knows that Qi Yun could also be afraid one day. When he was paralyzed on the bed, his body bad and rotting away, he was not afraid. He was not afraid of death, but he was afraid of losing that heart-warming feeling never coming back to him, the driving force convincing him to live.

Qi Yun was lying on the bed as he covered his eyes with his hands. The ward was eerily quiet and the bodyguards at the door did not dare to enter until a tall man with glasses appeared at the door.

He knocked on the door, stood by the door and called out to young master Yun.

Qi Yun didn’t move so Chen Ying walked in and lowered his head and voice, “You are about to have an operation. The chairman was worried and asked me to come and look after you.”

Qi Yun didn’t speak for a long time. There were two people in the ward. One was standing and one was lying down. The atmosphere was weird.

Qi Yun took his hand away. His eyes were bloodshot and his lips were bloodless, “Go down. When Wanwan arrives, let me know.”

Chen Ying gave him a deep look and turned to leave the ward.

Xing Zhongwan walked out of the emergency building. As soon as he walked out, he heard that someone had jumped off the building. Xing Zhongwan glanced at the bloody man lying on the cart with a calm expression. Even if he died, it would have been better to commit suicide than to be hunted and killed by Qi Zongcheng. Xue Qing handed the medicine in her hand to Xing Zhongwan. Qi’s fourth young master jumped off the building and this was the best ending for him.

“Qi Yun finally drove his brother to death, how ruthless!” Xue Qing patted Xing Zhongwan on the shoulder and went to the parking lot.

Xing Zhongwan went to the inpatient department with the medicine bag in his hand. When he got out of the elevator, Xing Zhongwan saw Chen Ying at once.

“You’re back?”

Chen Ying glanced at him alertly, but suddenly felt that this man was a little different. The entire person was as quiet as a clear spring.

“Young madam.” Chen Ying bowed down to him. His ears heard Xing Zhongwan’s chuckling and the faint contempt in his laughter made Chen Ying raise his head in confusion. In the past, Xing Zhongwan had always been indifferent to the title Young Madam, but today…

When Chen Ying recovered, Xing Zhongwan had already disappeared in the corridor.

Xing Zhongwan opened the door of the ward, walked to Qi Yun’s bed, pulled up a chair beside him and watched him quietly. Qi Yun opened his eyes and smiled, “Wanwan, are you back?”

Xing Zhongwan pulled his sleeves to cover the bandage on his wrist, “Qi’s fourth young master is dead.”

Qi Yun was stunned before relaxing, “There is no pain after death.” After a pause, he asked, “Do you think I was too cruel and forced him to his death?”

Xing Zhongwan leaned on the back of the chair, resting his left hand on his forehead, “No, this was his choice. It was his fault that he ended up like this today.”

Qi Yun turned his head sideways, his expression was a little uneasy, “Wanwan, you always find excuses to cover up the darkness in my heart.”

Xing Zhongwan bent down his waist so he was close to Qi Yun. Qi Yun’s warm breath hit his cheek as Xing Zhongwan took out a string of beads from his pocket and wrapped it around Qi Yun’s hand, “This is what my mother gave me. I’m giving it to you. I hope it will get rid of all your lifetime’s anger inside you.”

Qi Yun held Xing Zhongwan’s hand. Wanwan’s hands were a little strange tonight. He reached out and touched the gauze on his wrist. Qi Yun stroked it a few more times uncertaintly, “Wanwan, you were injured.”

Xing Zhongwan took back his hand without a trace, “I accidentally scratched it on the way here just now. It’s nothing major. You will rest for a while. Your surgery is tomorrow so I will be watching you.

Qi Yun didn’t let go of Xing Zhongwan’s hand, “Wanwan, if I ever did something wrong and I confessed to you, would you forgive me?”

Xing Zhongwan raised his hand to cover Qi Yun’s eyes, “Don’t think about it. Just close your eyes and go to sleep. Have a good rest.”

Qi Yun’s Adam’s apple gulped as he whiffed Wanwan’s hand that smelled of disinfectant.

“I want the first thing I see to be you, I have a lot to say to you.”

Xing Zhongwan patted the back of his hand, “Go to sleep.”

Qi Yun closed his eyes and Xing Zhongwan’s steady breathing made his tired body relax quickly as the unease in his heart finally failed to withstand the surging sleepiness.

He still has a lot of time, he will get better and become even better. He had a lifetime to seek forgiveness from Wanwan, as long as Wanwan gave him a chance.

While Qi Yun was asleep, Xing Zhongwan moved his hand from Qi Yun’s eyes before slowly moving down to his white and slender neck. As long as you exert force, yes, as long as you exerted force…

Xing Zhongwan chuckled lightly and withdrew his hands. He glanced at Qi Yun before finally getting up and leaving the ward. Chen Ying was standing at the door when he saw Xing Zhongwan, hurriedly following behind. Xing Zhongwan turned around and raised his mouth slightly, “We should have nothing to say to each other. Just stay, Secretary Chen.”

Chen Ying’s body froze. He was not the same… not the same anymore.

Qi Yun shaved his hair before entering the operating room. Xing Zhongwan smiled and said, “What a handsome little monk.”

Qi Yun’s ears were red and he turned his head away a little embarrassedly. Fortunately, there was no one else in the ward.

“Sure enough, even a bald head can look attractive on a beautiful person.”

Xing Zhongwan squatted down in front of Qi Yun, “Don’t be nervous. It will be fine. Come on.”

Qi Yun raised his hand to hold Xing Zhongwan’s face, “Will you wait for me?”

Xing Zhongwan smiled and rolled his eyes, “Yes.”

Qi Yun bent down and slowly approached Xing Zhongwan, when their lips were about to touch, Xing Zhongwan tilted his head so Qi Yun’s kiss fell on his ear.

Qi Yun was a little disappointed and Xing Zhongwan said lightly, “It’s almost time, we should prepare.”

When Qi Yun was pushed into the operating room, he kept holding Xing Zhongwan’s hand until the moment they were separated. Qi Yun’s eyes were a little red. As Xing Zhongwan watched Qi Yun being pushed in, the hands that held onto him remained hanging outside the hospital bed.

The soft touch from Qi Yun on his ear was still there. Xing Zhongwan rubbed his tumbling stomach and walked quickly into the bathroom. Holding the washbasin with both hands, he retched constantly. Turning on the faucet and washing his face, Xing Zhongwan raised his head. The hair on his forehead was wet and drooping lifelessly, as the water droplets flowed down the straight bridge of his nose onto his plump lips.

Raising his hand to wipe off the water on his mouth, Xing Zhongwan went out of the bathroom. Before leaving, he glanced at the closed door of the operating room. He only took one glance. When the elevator door opened, Xing Zhongwan never looked back and entered the elevator.

In the cemetery of the Xing family, Xing Zhongwan put a bunch of hydrangeas in front of his mother’s grave. It was the first time he had come to see her since his mother moved in.

His mother’s tomb was well taken care of and it seemed that the caretaker was very attentive. When Xing Zhongwan came, there was already a bunch of hydrangea besides his own.

Xing Zhongwan took off his sunglasses, knelt down and kowtowed in front of his mother’s grave.

“I’m going back. It may be a long time before I can come back to see you, but you won’t be lonely, right? I know you are the happiest with them by your side.”

Xing Zhongwan stretched out his hand and patted his mother’s photo on the tombstone. There were footsteps coming from afar that drew nearer until they stopped beside him. Xing Zhongwan tilted his head, “Thank you, those hydrangea were probably from you.”

Xing Zhengping looked down at Xing Zhongwan, but did not answer his words.

“You took good care of my mother’s grave, thank you.”

Xing Zhengping snorted, but didn’t seem to have any intention to leave. Xing Zhongwan looked up and saw that he was looking at his mother’s photo in a daze.

Xing Zhongwan stood up straight and looked at him, “I know that you made a deal with Madam Qi to get rid of me through mom. In fact, you did not have to do this, I have never been interested in the Xing family or your position. Besides, you got your position based on your ability. The Xing family has come this far and as long as they maintain their duties, they won’t fall. Every year, I will make a sum of money into the company’s account. Consider it a thank you for taking care of my mother.”

Xing Zhongwan’s didn’t know how much Xing Zhengping listened to his words. It was the first time that Xing Zhongwan looked at him so seriously.

Xing Zhengping was old, but you could still see how gentle and handsome he was when he was young.

“I really liked Qianyi.” Xing Zhengping suddenly said such a sentence, which made Xing Zhongwan stunned.

Xing Zhengping didn’t look at him, he was staring at his mother’s tombstone.

“When Xing Yanyin wanted to adopt me, I thought it was a joke after three days of delay. We were already distant relatives. No matter who he chose, it was impossible for him to choose me. That was the luckiest my life will get.”

“But I don’t think that was my greatest good fortune. My greatest luck was to marry your mother.”

Xing Zhongwan’s eyes widened and he almost laughed out loud. “That’s why you kicked her out of the Xing family?!”

“When Xing Yanyin asked me to marry Qianyi, I felt like I was dreaming. Xing Qianyi, the goddess in the eyes of many people back then, was willing to marry me, a poor country boy. I swore at the time that I would be good to her for the rest of my life. Even if she wanted the moon in the sky, I would find a way to pluck it off. But… After I got married, I found out that everything was completely different from what I thought. Your mother was indifferent. I thought that as long as I was nice to her, I would definitely be able to warm her heart. I didn’t mind that she already had you in her belly at that time and I was willing to treat you as my biological child for her. But… I thought too much, and when I finally found out the truth, the shock, anger, and shame made me clearly realize that I will never be as good as the person in her heart in my life. It’s too funny.

Xing Zhengping covered his reddened eyes.

“I wanted to be angry with her so I brought back a girl from the countryside and said that I had a relationship with a lover outside. I thought at the time that she would just scold me, but she didn’t. She asked me to take good care of myself! Hahaha, this is your mother. She stabbed my chest with a knife. When Xing Yanyin died, I thought she would pay more attention to me. Hahaha, no, so I took the paternity test certificate and threatened to leak this about the Xing family if she didn’t stay with me, but she would rather divorce me on the accusation of adultery! How could I bear it! Your presence was the greatest threat of them all. I have managed to get it all. Do you know how difficult it is for me as a country boy to climb up to where I am now? But you are different. The blood in your body can easily be used to trample over me.”

Xing Zhongwan listened quietly. At last, he asked him, “Are you happy now?”

Xing Zhengping was stunned. The resentment and guilt that had been surging in his heart was suddenly stopped by this sentence.

Xing Zhongwan put on his sunglasses and looked at him, “When my mother was dying, the person who was the most sorry was you. She didn’t hate you for driving her out, but only hated herself for delaying your life.”

Xing Zhongwan went beside him, “There will be no change. Xing Zhongwan is no longer on the Xing family tree and no one will steal your position.”

Xing Zhongwan left as Xing Zhengping squatted down and wept in front of the tomb. He endured for a long time and finally couldn’t help but cry.

Xing Zhongwan walked a long way and suddenly looked back at Xing Zhengping curled up as the faint sound of his cries entered his ears.

In life, there are many mistakes to be made. The most important thing is to live the present well, not read into the past, and to live up to one’s original intentions.

Chapter 48 – This is the end of it all

Chapter 48 – This is the end of it all

Qi Yun went back to the ward as the bodyguards stood guard at the door. Qi’s fourth young master took the apple on the coffee table and took a bite, “Qi Yun, are you looking down on me or are you too confident in yourself? It’s just the two of us in this room, aren’t you afraid?”

Qi Yun sat in a wheelchair with a calm face, “Although you are not smart, you are not stupid. If something happens to me, it won’t end well for you.”

Qi’s fourth young master walked up to him and looked at him condescendingly, “I just don’t understand you. You hate me so much that you didn’t give me a chance to live. Qi Yun, is your heart made of stone?”

Qi Yun turned his head sideways, “Don’t get too close to me. I don’t like the smell of your body.”

Qi’s fourth young master sullenly said, “You know why I don’t like you? You, son of a b-tch, are really unpleasant. Just because you were born earlier than me and became the eldest son and grandson, why should I make way for you? Why? Grandma likes you, grandpa likes you too. Why are you my elder brother? If you were weaker than me, then I wouldn’t hate you as much as I do today.”

Qi Yun rubbed his painful forehead, “We shouldn’t have come this far. I know you like to steal from me. Whether it’s things, women, or status. You came here so open and plainly, as if you are capable!”

Qi’s fourth young master sneered twice and simply sat down beside Qi Yun, “Which woman beside you never gave up on you? You are a heartless person so no matter how infatuated a woman is, she will give up after waiting for a heart that can never be warmed. That wh-re of the Qiu family. Did you know how much effort I spent to get her? That wh-re slept with me for so long, Qi Yun. Did you not know? You knew, you just didn’t care! You see everyone as a tool. Who did you put in your eyes? I just can’t stand you dying with that aloof expression.”

“But so what if she gave up on you. I asked that wh-re to steal documents from you, but she wouldn’t. What could I do? I could only drag her father out. Could Qiu Shihao have stayed in that position for so many years without any tricks? He jumped off the building and committed suicide after so I let you take the blame. The Qiu family hated you to death and as soon as I instigated her, she agreed. Hahaha. Qi Yun, why are you not dead? Your car was destroyed yet you could be saved from it. What a great life you have!”

Qi’s fourth young master shook his head and laughed as tears streamed from the corners of his eyes. The wound on his forehead opened up and blood flowed down his eyes. Qi’s fourth young master raised his hand and wiped it.

“I thought when you became paralyzed, mother would support me with all her strength. I didn’t expect that she would still hang onto your life and was not willing to let you die. Even after you became crippled, I still can’t fight you. I’m so discontent, Qi Yun!”

As Qi’s fourth young master shouted, the bodyguard at the door almost broke in.

Qi Yun turned dark as the corners of his mouth curled up. He looked at the past from Qi’s fourth young master’s point of view with contempt.

Qi’s fourth young master was annoyed and was about to pounce when Qi Yun’s next words made him stop,

“Do you know why? It’s because you are not the child of the Qi family at all. You are a bastard born to Guan Yang and her lover. “

Qi’s fourth young master was stunned with a look of disbelief on his face. After a long time, he seemed to recover from the huge shock, “Impossible! You are lying to me! Qi Yun, you are really vicious! You actually made up such a lie to deceive me. I!”

The disgust on Qi Yun’s face flashed by, “Actually, you already have the answer in your heart. There is the Qi family’s reaction since your mishap occurred as well as the Shen family that has ignored you since you were a child. A Yuan, you have done a lot of bad things to try to obtain a position that’s impossible for you. I don’t care how much dirty water you poured on me but your existence is a shame to the Qi family so Qi Zongcheng won’t keep you and he will let you die to understand this!”

Qi’s fourth young master was shaking his head frantically, “Impossible. It’s impossible. There’s no way, mother will save me, mother will save me!” At the end, Qi’s fourth young master’s voice became weaker and weaker. He couldn’t even convince himself with his own words

“Guan Yang won’t save you. She can’t even save herself now. It’s unforgivable to bring shame to the family. The Qi family can’t keep her and she can’t go back to the Guan family. What is she doing to save you? I’m afraid she only wants to draw a clear line between you two. Don’t you understand our mother and the thousands of calculations she makes in her head?”

Qi’s fourth young master’s eyes were empty and the wound on his forehead was bleeding a lot, “You knew it for a long time, but you have endured it until now and you have never thought about leaving me a way to live!”

“It’s not like you thought about giving me a way out to survive the car accident. A Yuan, it wasn’t bad being a young master who only ate and drank right? Our birthright and position were about the same. To have reached this point, you can’t blame others for it.”

Qi Yun’s cold and clear voice echoed in the ward. Qi’s fourth young master raised his head and his eyes were red and swollen, “Qi Yun, where did you get the idea that you are better than me? And how much better are you compared to our selfish and cruel mother with her blood engraved in your bones? Hahaha, does the little beauty beside you know that you drugged yourself? I went to that woman and she said that you drugged yourself that night. Does he know that you used such a dirty way to get him? Qi Yun, hahaha, do you think you are noble? You are also dirty and dirty to the core. Hahahaha, to drug the person you like, how can you do that, hahahaha!”

Hearing this, Qi Yun’s calm and self-controlled face finally cracked, “Shut up!”

Xing Zhongwan was standing at the door of the slightly opened ward. From this angle, he could just see Qi Yun’s profile. That alluringly beautiful face was like a beautiful flower, beautiful but evil.

The bodyguard next to him called out to the young madam but Xing Zhongwan took two steps back expressionlessly, “Don’t tell Qi Yun that I was here.”

After speaking, he bypassed the two bodyguards behind him and walked slowly along the long corridor of the hospital, leaving slowly.

He had promised Qi Yun that he would come back at night, but now he would rather he never came back and never heard what he just said.

His head was swollen and uncomfortable as his stomach began churning for a while. When the physical need to vomit hit him, Xing Zhongwan turned into the stairwell, bent down and retched for a while, but nothing came out.

His eyes turned red and the pain in his heart made his nose sore. After the pain was a burst of uncontrollable anger as he leaned against the wall with one hand. The jade green bracelet stung his eyes and he smashed it against the wall once, then twice…

The harsh sound of collision and the sharp pain in the wrist helped offset some of the discomfort that was like a knife to his heart. The brightly red blood splattered on the white wall as there was a crisp sound of the bracelet splitting into two pieces and falling to the ground.

Xing Zhongwan had a bloody tear on his wrist. As the blood dripped on the ground little by little, a sneer appeared on the corner of his mouth. It broke. It’s good that it’s broken. It has been long overdue. What secret method? Only he knew the secret method to unlock it? It was this simple all along. Qiyun, I was stuck in my own imaginary world’s impression of you. Your acting was too good, or it was because I didn’t want to admit it. That to me, you were soft and kind? I want to laugh when I think about it now. From beginning to end, I have never seen your true face clearly!

Xing Zhongwan’s wrist needed eight stitches. Xue Qing frowned against the wall. As Xing Zhongwan didn’t take anesthesia, his forehead was covered in sweat and his face was pale, but he never said a word.

Xue Qing sighed and said to the doctor who was suturing the wound, “Doctor, please sew it well, this kid has no small scars at all on his body.”

The doctor raised his eyes and glanced at Xing Zhongwan who refused to use the anesthetic. He didn’t know what to do. With such a beautiful face, the little nurses in the emergency room blushed as their hearts beat fast.

After so long without saying a word, he really managed to bear the pain. His temper was really big.

After cutting the medical tape, the doctor gave Xue Qing a list, “You have to take some anti-inflammatory drugs these days and reapply the medicine on time.” Xue Qing took it with a smile after the doctor went to see other patients. Only the two of them were left in the clinic.

Xue Qing sat opposite Xing Zhongwan, “You didn’t even use anesthesia. Do you think your body is made of iron? Does it hurt?”

Xing Zhongwan stared at the carefully bandaged wrist, “I purposely wanted to remember this pain!”

As he said this, he took out the broken bracelet from his pocket, “Find someone to return it.”

Xue Qing took the blood-stained bracelet and said nothing for a long time.

Xing Zhongwan got up and smiled at Xue Qing. Those long and narrow eyes were less playful and more cold. This was the first time he showed such an expression in his eyes since he returned to China.

Xue Qing breathed a sigh of relief, but was inexplicably uncomfortable.

This was the real Xing Zhongwan. There was a man who helped him shed his cold exterior, but today, everything has returned to how it was originally.

Xing Zhongwan hugged Xue Qing’s shoulders, “This is the end of it all.”

T/N: bWAHAHA… poor Qi Yun. Now it’s no longetr Qi Yun x Wanwan. It’s Qi Yun x consequences owo.

Hope you aren’t too angry about the quiz thingy and it’s consequences I posted in the previous chapters’ translator notes haha. I think I’m becoming a bit demented from translating so many chinese text… (As well as the dog blood drama that’s happening. Jeez, isn’t Qi Yun too cruel… Poor Wanwan… hurry and get outta that toxic place before you get swallowed up too~)

Usually, I hate it when authors use misunderstandings to make the story longer, but I believe Qi Yun deserved to repent and suffer a but for what he has done. It’s true he is not a good person and he should face anything that comes his way as a result of his betrayal, especially from Xing Zhongwan, who has sacrificed much for him. Else, he will not have learned anything.

Consider liking the writer’s work or buying a kofi for me <3 who knows, might update a lil faster hehe
