Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 19 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 19

Soon, the people in the venue cleared out completely, making way for the upcoming match between the First Faculty and the Third Faculty.

Although the opening was intense, today’s starting point was too high. Compared to the previous match, it felt as soft as cotton candy, completely failing to pique anyone’s interest.

Lu Jingning sat in the spectator stands, yawning. He thought to himself that since the next match was still two days away, he might as well get up and stretch his muscles. “I’m heading back to wash up and get ready,” he said.

Yu Qingcang couldn’t help but tease, “What do you need to prepare for a fight? By taking a shower? People who don’t know might think you’re going on a date!”

Lu Jingning firmly patted his head without hesitation. “You don’t understand! Even fighting requires a sense of professionalism, you know?”

Yu Qingcang was left dizzy from the pat and thought to himself that this guy was becoming more and more incorrigible.

Just then, the area darkened, and Wen Xingchen, who was standing next to Lu Jingning, also stood up.

Jian Luan was puzzled. “Where are you going?”

Wen Xingchen replied, “I’m going back to take a shower.”

Jian Luan: “???”

Lu Jingning said, “I already said I don’t need any help. I can handle this kind of trash on my own.”

Wen Xingchen looked at him and said, “Did I say I was going to help you?”

Lu Jingning retorted, “Then why are you taking a shower?”

Wen Xingchen smirked and replied slowly, “Why do you care? It’s not like we’re showering together.”

Lu Jingning was speechless.

Damn! Why does it feel like this guy is becoming harder and harder to get along with?

The Omega and Alpha dormitories were in completely different directions. After leaving the sports hall, the two went their separate ways.

Lu Jingning went back and took a relaxing hot shower. Feeling the sweat and stench dissipate from his body, he lay satisfied on his bed for a while. When he saw that it was almost time, he casually put on a jacket and headed out.

At this time, the area near the central-west gate of the Imperial Navy University wasn’t crowded. There was a group of ruffians standing outside, looking imposing and causing pedestrians to give them a wide berth. Among them, Lu Jingning immediately spotted the curly-haired figure standing in the center. Remembering what Cen Junfeng had said, his name should be Zhong Feng. He had a mint cigarette in his mouth and wore a black coat, exuding a powerful aura.

Lu Jingning wasn’t intimidated by the show of force. Instead, he found it amusing for some reason and chuckled. With his hands in his pockets, he casually walked towards them.

Zhong Feng obviously didn’t expect Lu Jingning to actually come alone. When he realized that he had even gathered some local hoodlums nearby, he felt a loss of confidence and looked at Lu Jingning with disbelief.

Lu Jingning lazily said, “Stop looking around, it’s just me.”

Zhong Feng frowned. “You, an Omega, really have guts, huh?”

Lu Jingning waved his hand impatiently. “Why are you talking so much nonsense? Are we fighting or not?”

Such an attitude seemed to convey surrender and fear.

The entrance gate was not the best place for a brawl, with people coming and going.

Zhong Feng’s mouth twitched as he flicked his cigarette to the ground and clenched his fist tightly. “If you dare to face me, come on!”

Lu Jingning never knew how to write the word “coward” from the moment he was born. Without saying a word, he stepped forward, kicking precisely and fiercely towards the lower abdomen of Zhong Feng’s lackey.

Without giving the guy any time to react, in the next second, Lu Jingning mercilessly smashed the guy’s head to the ground.

He stepped on the guy’s uncertain fate with one foot, disdainfully glancing around. “Listen up, let’s save some time. Are we fighting one by one or all together?”

Such an attitude was arrogant to the extreme. A sinister light seemed to flicker in his eyes, looking down at the stunned Alphas with utter contempt.

The Alphas present were instantly infuriated.

“Lu Jingning, I think you really want to die!” Zhong Feng clenched his fists tightly. “Brothers, forget about manners. Let’s go all out and fvcking kill him!”

For a moment, the intense scent of Alpha’s pheromones filled the air.

Obviously, they intended to use this oppressive force to make the overly arrogant Omega kneel and beg for mercy.

However, amidst the thick pheromones, Lu Jingning seemed unaffected. Facing the approaching crowd, he didn’t even lift an eyelid.

Instead, a smile uncontrollably curled up at the corner of his mouth. “Ah, this is getting interesting.”

As Zhong Feng rushed forward at the forefront, Lu Jingning casually lifted his leg and delivered a precise and ruthless blow to the crotch of another lackey.

After kicking him down, regardless of Zhong Feng’s heart-wrenching screams, he grabbed the hair of another thug nearby and viciously slammed him into the body of yet another person.

Under the intense pain from Zhong Feng’s lower body, he felt his vision darken. Vaguely, he saw a golden-haired figure gracefully weaving through the crowd. The once menacing group of people had now been overturned.

Not only did they fail to suppress Lu Jingning with their Alpha pheromones, but it seemed that the situation had turned in the opposite direction.

Zhong Feng’s brows finally revealed a hint of fear.

What kind of Omega is this guy?!

Lu Jingning instantly dealt with those insignificant lackeys, raising his foot and firmly trapping Zhong Feng in a corner. His exquisitely beautiful face, filled with a menacing aura, looked exceptionally dazzling. His voice carried a trace of hoarseness as he said, “You were quite arrogant on the basketball court, weren’t you? Why aren’t you boasting now?”

Zhong Feng felt a chill run through his body from the gaze, making him shiver. It took him a while to gather enough courage to say, “You better let go of me!”

Lu Jingning found it the most hilarious joke. Instead of lifting his leg, he twisted it even harder. “What if I don’t?”

A wicked smile appeared on Zhong Feng’s pale face. “I didn’t plan on being so ruthless, but you forced my hand!”

Lu Jingning furrowed his brows at the nonsense and suddenly heard a loud bang behind him. The warehouse door had been locked by someone.

The small thugs stumbled to their feet, though they were still reeling from the previous beatdown. However, they all wore malicious smiles when they looked at him.

Zhong Feng had somehow acquired a bottle of white spray hidden behind him. At such close range, he suddenly sprayed it towards Lu Jingning’s nose several times.

A faint fragrance filled the air, almost imperceptible but accompanied by an overwhelming pressure.

Lu Jingning’s body was aflame, his gaze even more misty, and he leaned down, sounding mocking and scornful. “Didn’t you say you wanted to have fun with me? So, how about it? If you’re willing to kneel down and kowtow to me, maybe my brothers can still satisfy you.”

The others couldn’t help but jeer, “Let’s have some fun with this extraordinary Omega!”

Zhong Feng hypocritically reminded them, “Having fun is fine, but don’t go too far. We’re classmates after all, and it won’t be good if things go too far.”

The small thugs exchanged lewd glances. “Who’s going first?”

Lu Jingning’s mind was scattered under the influence of the triggering agent. At this moment, he revealed a meaningful smile. “Why be so polite? Let’s all go together!”

No one expected him to have such an attitude. For a moment, everyone was shocked by his excessively open request.

When they snapped out of it, they felt even more excited. They couldn’t wait to surround him.

Lu Jingning’s smile grew even more intense.

In fact, he didn’t like using pheromones to suppress others. He always felt that doing so was no different from those pathetic Alphas who looked down on Omegas. Therefore, when it came to fights, he always took the most straightforward and brutal approach.

This time should have been no different. But who would have thought that there would be someone like Zhong Feng digging his own grave in this world?

How interesting.

He would grant them their wish.

Just as the small thugs were about to approach him, a faint scent suddenly hit them head-on. It was subtle yet carried an extremely dominant pressure.

Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind erupted. As the pheromones surrounded them, they felt as if an electric current surged through their bodies, causing their blood to momentarily freeze.

Before they could comprehend what was happening, a tingling sensation spread through their scalps, followed by dizziness. Their bodies became weak, and one by one, they fell to their knees with a series of thumping sounds.

However, even in this state, the overwhelming scent of the powerful pheromones continued to assault their last line of defense. It seemed to completely dominate their nervous systems, tormenting them to the extreme. They wished they could pass out right then and there.

This was not the second-grade classroom. These thugs were generally not even at the B-level in terms of pheromone abilities, and now, under the influence of the triggering agent, Lu Jingning’s release of pheromones was nearly uncontrollable and terrifyingly powerful.

In an instant, his aura suppressed the entire warehouse, devouring and annihilating the weak pheromones of the Alphas.

Some tried to struggle and escape, their eyes filled with stars. However, the warehouse door had been locked, and they were completely paralyzed, unable to muster the strength to stand. Despair filled their expressions.

Lu Jingning’s face turned red, his gaze hazy, but he exuded an aura of superiority.

Zhong Feng, who was closest, felt as if he was on the verge of death. Overwhelmed by the suffocating pressure, his instinct pushed him to move away from Lu Jingning. However, he could barely manage to lift himself up, only to be kicked back by the person in front of him.

Zhong Feng was in utter despair. “Please, let me go!”

Lu Jingning couldn’t control his laughter. “Ah, alright. If you obediently call me daddy, maybe I’ll consider it?”

The excruciating torment that felt like a splitting headache made Zhong Feng desperately want to collapse. At this point, he no longer cared about his pride. With weak legs, he immediately knelt before Lu Jingning. “Daddy–!”

Chapter 18 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 18

As Wen Xingchen prepared to enter the court, the Quadruple Faculty called for a halftime timeout.

Lu Jingning temporarily returned to the rest area, tilted his head back, and chugged a few mouthfuls of water. It was evident that he had been holding back.

From a close distance, one could see faint bruises on his fair skin. Although they were in discrete locations, they couldn’t escape Wen Xingchen’s eyes.

Wen Xingchen handed him a towel.

Lu Jingning grabbed it and wiped his face haphazardly, then suddenly blurted out, “Wen Xingchen, have I been too tame recently?”

Wen Xingchen chuckled lightly, not sure what he was thinking. “Seems like it.”

Lu Jingning clenched his teeth tightly. “Damn it, I knew I was being too accommodating. Every Tom, d1ck, and Harry is crawling out of the woodwork! I’ll leave the team to you later. I can’t stand it anymore!”

Wen Xingchen replied, “No problem.”

The timeout came to an end, and Wen Xingchen put on his wristband, picked up the basketball, and gave it a couple of quick taps.

In the mere moments it took for him to walk onto the court, the spectators fell momentarily silent in the stands, then erupted into deafening screams that almost overturned the arena.

What the f*ck? They had thought it was already a face-saving move for Wen Xingchen to sit on the sidelines as a decoration, but he actually went on the court?!

Lu Jingning was not affected by the atmosphere in the least. He flexed his joints, itching for action. “Lao Wen, how should we play?”

Wen Xingchen was slightly taken aback by his sudden change in address but glanced at him. “How do you want to play?”

Lu Jingning smirked coldly. “I’ll play freely. You do as you please.”

Wen Xingchen didn’t mind. “Okay.”

The game resumed, and true to his word, Lu Jingning no longer paid any attention to the team. He indulged himself and entered “lone wolf mode.”

Previously, due to tactical considerations, they didn’t want to engage in direct confrontations with the tall players from the Second Faculty. Instead, they focused on breaking through with Lu Jingning as the spearhead. But not everyone could keep up with his speed, so they had to control the pace to accommodate the teammates.

Now, the situation was entirely different.

As soon as Wen Xingchen stepped onto the court, the Quadruple Faculty no longer needed to rely solely on Lu Jingning. This gave him absolute freedom to play, completely disregarding his teammates. Like a wild horse breaking free, he was unleashed.

With the game underway, the chestnut-haired person could sense that Lu Jingning’s aura seemed entirely different from before.

After severing all connections between teammates, Lu Jingning seemed to have completely detached himself from the team, completing the team’s tasks on his own. However, even though he remained separate from the team, Wen Xingchen always found a way to pass the ball to him with precision.

The chestnut-haired person had no time to react. Before he could even reach out his hand, Lu Jingning had already dribbled past him.

With a shot, the ball smoothly landed in the basket, the entire sequence executed cleanly and efficiently.

Stunned for a few seconds, the chestnut-haired person cursed silently in his mind. He watched as Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen exchanged a tacit high-five, his tone filled with sarcasm. “The light of the Omegas seems to enjoy special treatment. Your skills aren’t that great, but you have a bunch of bodyguards. People say it’s chivalry, but those who don’t know might think you two have something going on.”

Lu Jingning glared up at him. “What the f*ck are you saying?”

The chestnut-haired person deliberately elongated his tone. “I’m just saying that our top-ranking freshman can’t escape the common stereotype, can he? When we meet an Omega, we treat them like a precious treasure. Some might call it being a gentleman, but those who don’t might think you two have a special relationship.”

Cen Junfeng, who was not far away, heard the conversation and furrowed his eyebrows slightly. “We’re in the middle of a game, less talking!”

The chestnut-haired person glanced at him, smiling meaningfully. “Oh, there’s another one. The Light of the Omegas is truly charming, huh?”

Cen Junfeng’s expression froze for a moment.

“I think you’re quite the talker, huh?” Lu Jingning’s voice turned cold, and he was about to throw a punch, but a force grabbed his shoulder, pulling him back.

Wen Xingchen’s voice floated gently. “He’s done holding back. Show some understanding.”

The chestnut-haired person hesitated briefly, clenching his teeth. “Who are you saying was holding back?!”

Wen Xingchen didn’t answer him. His gaze simply swept past, and he calmly said, “Regarding your first question, he, Lu Jingning, is from our Quadruple Faculty. Of course I’m defending him. Is there any problem with that?”

It was an overly logical statement, leaving the chestnut-haired person momentarily speechless.

Wen Xingchen pulled Lu Jingning’s hand and turned to leave.

Lu Jingning was pulled along for a couple of steps before suddenly reaching out and hooking his arm around Wen Xingchen’s shoulder. He couldn’t help but tremble with uncontrollable laughter. “Wen Xingchen, why is your mouth so sharp?”

Indeed, it was too sharp, even piercing his heart!

Having gained no benefits from his words, the chestnut-haired person was obviously unable to swallow this indignation. He tried every means possible to pick a fight with Lu Jingning.

However, with Wen Xingchen controlling the situation on the court, the players from the Second Faculty, despite their height advantage, couldn’t impede Lu Jingning. In no time, the score difference quickly widened.

To make matters worse, the chestnut-haired person could feel that those two were deliberately targeting him.

The ball flew around him, without any opportunities for him to score, before he could react, Lu Jingning had already dribbled past him.

After a shot, the ball smoothly landed in the basket. The entire process was executed flawlessly.

Lu Jingning scored again, and with a pleased expression, he lightly high-fived Wen Xingchen. “Nice pass.”

Sitting on the sidelines, Jian Luan’s heart was stirred by the continuous cheers from the crowd. He couldn’t help rubbing his eyes vigorously, still unable to snap out of it.

Did anyone capture the replay of that pass? The speed and synchronization were absolutely amazing!

With a one-sided game, the Quadruple Faculty easily secured the final victory.

Everyone remembered Lu Jingning’s heroic figure and the certain chestnut-haired cannon fodder who was beaten to a pulp.

The chestnut-haired person’s face had long turned extremely ugly.

Even before stepping off the court, he could imagine the ruthless ridicule he would face.

“Now that the game is over, shouldn’t we settle other matters?” Lu Jingning listened to the continuous cheers from the stands and raised an eyebrow with a seemingly mocking smile. “Tell me, how do you want to resolve it? Do I punch you once, or should I pick a fight with all of you?”

The chestnut-haired person clenched his teeth and sneered, “You’re just an Omega who’s been overly praised. Don’t get too arrogant.”

Lu Jingning lazily tossed his jacket over his shoulder, disdainfully laughed, and neither confirmed nor denied, “Less talk, you can choose the time and place.”

“After the last class in the afternoon, outside the East and West gates,” the chestnut-haired person glanced at Wen Xingchen standing behind him, his tone mocking. “I don’t have a habit of not fighting Omegas. Don’t forget to bring your bodyguards so they can pick up your corpse if I beat you to a pulp.”

Lu Jingning shrugged. “Do I need others? I’m enough on my own.”

“Kid, I advise you not to be too full of yourself!” After leaving these words, the chestnut-haired person angrily slammed the door and stormed off.

Wen Xingchen looked at the swaying metal door left in the aftermath and asked, “Do you really not need any help?”

Lu Jingning replied, “No.”

During their conversation, a hesitant voice interjected, “I think you better not underestimate Zhong Feng. He’s the type of person who would resort to any means necessary.”

Lu Jingning turned his head and saw Cen Junfeng, who had already put on his jacket. He was standing not far away, looking at him with a complicated expression.

Their eyes met, and Cen Junfeng awkwardly coughed twice before saying, “I’m just giving you a reminder. Well, see you later.”

After speaking, without waiting for Lu Jingning’s response, he turned and walked away without looking back.

Lu Jingning rubbed his chin and fell into deep thought. “Ah, Wen Xingchen, what did he mean by that? Do you think he’s looking down on me?”

After his words, there was no response for a long time.

When he turned around, he realized that Wen Xingchen, who had been standing behind him just now, had disappeared without a trace.

Lu Jingning: “???”

He left without saying a word, what’s wrong with these Alphas?

Author’s Note: Lu Jingning: It’s time for my favorite fighting part!

Chapter 17 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 17

For most Alphas, there aren’t many opportunities to show their face in front of Omegas. However, as this situation unfolded, Lu Jingning’s gaze instantly became heated.

Lu Jingning, however, remained oblivious and after glancing at the opposing camp, he asked, “Are we playing against the Second Faculty for our first match?”

Yu Qingcang nodded, “The Alphas from the Imperial Defense Faculty have decent physical fitness. Some of them are quite formidable.”

While they were talking, a staff member came over to confirm the starting lineup. Without much thought, Lu Jingning confidently stepped forward and said, “Count me in.”

Among the list of team members, three of Lu Jingning’s classmates were included, along with Yu Qingcang. After the intimidating effect of their first class, there was basically no opposition. They all nodded in agreement, saying, “You go. Go on.”

Apart from Lu Jingning, Jian Luan, and Yu Qingcang, two Alpha classmates from the same class also stepped onto the field. As for the Second Faculty, they quickly finalized their starting lineup.

Although the Imperial Defense Faculty’s requirements for pheromones were not as high as the Comprehensive War Faculty, they valued physical fitness when selecting their players. Therefore, the five players on the field all appeared tall and strong. Even Yu Qingcang, who was also a big guy, seemed somewhat inadequate compared to them.

“Ah, it seems like it won’t be an easy match,” Yu Qingcang observed the difference in size between the two sides and was suddenly filled with fighting spirit. “We can’t afford to lose today, brothers!”

Lu Jingning remained silent, his gaze fixed on someone in the opposing camp for a while before he pulled Jian Luan over and said, “Hey, isn’t that the ‘Straight Alpha Cancer’ from the other day?”

Jian Luan was taken aback upon hearing the term “Straight Alpha Cancer.” He hadn’t reacted yet when he followed Lu Jingning’s line of sight and suddenly realized, “Right, that’s Cen Junfeng.”

Lu Jingning’s eyes curved, and without waiting for Jian Luan’s response, he walked towards the Second Faculty’s tent.

The members of the Second Faculty were warming up, and because of Lu Jingning’s overly conspicuous presence, they were already somewhat displeased. But they hadn’t expected this Omega to be so audacious and actually come to them willingly. They involuntarily froze.

Lu Jingning casually whistled, “Don’t be nervous, I’m just saying hello to an old friend.”

During these past few days, Cen Junfeng had undoubtedly heard a series of rumors about Lu Jingning. Now that he was on the field, he had been intentionally trying to avoid this troublemaker. Sensing the seemingly smiling gaze directed at him, he knew that this person had come to see him as a joke. His face slightly darkened, “Is there something you want?”

“I already said I just wanted to say hello. What else could there be?” Lu Jingning’s expression was all smiles, and his attitude was extremely friendly. “Since the last time, we haven’t seen each other. I took this opportunity to share the joy of successfully entering the Quadruple Faculty with you. Regardless, I didn’t let you down, did I?”

Cen Junfeng’s mouth involuntarily twitched.

Damn it, who the hell expected this? If you want to see if my face is swollen from being beaten, just say it!

After giving his insincere congratulations, Cen Junfeng replied, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Lu Jingning accepted it without hesitation. Suddenly, he took two steps forward, leaning close to Cen Junfeng’s ear, and spoke with a voice that only the two of them could hear, a smirk on his face. “Aside from that, I’m also a bit curious. If you Alphas were to lose to an ‘innately weaker’ Omega like me on the court, would it be particularly interesting?”

A pleasant breath lightly brushed past Cen Junfeng’s ear, and the close contact between the two, from a distance, appeared quite intimate.

Wen Xingchen’s gaze, unintentionally drawn to them, paused slightly, and his eyes narrowed.

Cen Junfeng felt a surge of blood rushing through his body. He didn’t even have time to process the information conveyed by Lu Jingning. Acting on instinct, he took several steps back, his face filled with astonishment.

He could feel his heart beating rapidly, and in his mind, he couldn’t help but curse: These Omegas are indeed enchanting!

Lu Jingning, satisfied with his provocation, felt quite good. He raised an eyebrow and left with a pleased expression.

On the Quadruple Faculty’s side, Jian Luan glanced at Cen Junfeng, who looked completely flustered, his face revealing a thoroughly teased expression. In a shocked tone, he pulled Yu Qingcang over and asked, “Big bro, do you think Lu Jingning has taken a liking to that kid?!”

Yu Qingcang shook his head almost without hesitation, “It’s impossible. That weakling isn’t enough for Lu Jingning to play with.”

Jian Luan dismissed it, “Who knows? Aside from Cen Junfeng’s personality, he does have a pretty face. Maybe Lu Jingning likes to keep a pretty Alpha boy like him?”

As Jian Luan spoke, Yu Qingcang felt his mind suddenly open up to a new realm. “Yeah! Why didn’t I think of that before!”

The more Jian Luan thought about it, the more possible it seemed. And the more he thought about it, the more he began to associate it with Wen Xingchen. He couldn’t help but feel heartbroken.

Shaking his head and turning back, Jian Luan didn’t expect that as soon as he turned around, he made eye contact with someone, and they both froze.

Even though they had lowered their voices, due to their close distance, Wen Xingchen, with his excellent hearing, heard their conversation clearly.

Jian Luan felt a chill run down his spine, and his first reaction was a desire to die.

Then, he saw Wen Xingchen raise his head and look at Lu Jingning, who had a triumphant expression. Although there was no expression on his face, he suddenly raised his hand and lightly cracked his knuckles.

Jian Luan: “…”

Thanks to Lu Jingning, the match began with the Second Faculty launching a full-on offensive.

Not to mention Cen Junfeng’s incurable Straight Alpha Cancer, his personal skills were indeed impressive. It was evident that the Second Faculty’s tactics were centered around him, and their offensive rhythm was perfectly timed. Unconsciously, whenever the ball landed in his hands, it would cause waves of screams from the spectators.

Under normal circumstances, he would undoubtedly be a superstar on the court.

Unfortunately, at this moment, there was the flamboyant Lu Jingning, who overshadowed everyone else.

Physically, Lu Jingning’s height of 1.8 meters didn’t give him much advantage, but his ball-handling skills were overly dominant. Coupled with Yu Qingcang controlling the rebounds inside, he turned what should have been a normal game into his own personal show.

Seeing the opposition send a double team, Lu Jingning’s sharp gaze flickered. Suddenly accelerating his dribble, he executed a dazzling feint just before the three-point line. With a slight smirk, he released the ball in a seemingly effortless motion, and it accurately found its way into the basket.

The numbers on the scoreboard jumped once again, further widening the score gap, and the entire court erupted in excitement.

But this clearly wasn’t enough to satisfy Lu Jingning, the king of flamboyance.

Glancing at the now double-digit lead, he once again took possession of the ball.

Seeing a tall figure preparing to intercept him once again, Lu Jingning’s momentum suddenly halted just before the three-point line. His lips curled up slightly as he suddenly shifted the ball behind his head. Simultaneously, while leaning back, he released the shot.

The basketball gracefully arched through the air and, accompanied by a resounding sound, found its way into the basket.

A perfectly executed fadeaway three-pointer, as if straight out of a textbook demonstration, caused screams to erupt, and the Omegas were almost swooning over this incredibly stylish performance.

Ah, ah, ah! With Omegas like him, who needs those useless Alphas?

Jian Luan vigorously wiped the sweat off his forehead, on the verge of crying amidst such an intense atmosphere.

Indeed, the passion on the basketball court was truly moving, but unfortunately, all that passion belonged to this flamboyant king, Lu Jingning, leaving him with nothing!

With the Quadruple Faculty securing a clear lead in the first half, the entire stadium entered a brief halftime break.

As soon as the break started, Lu Jingning was surrounded by his excited teammates.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, he stepped out of the crowd and unceremoniously took a seat beside Wen Xingchen. “Got any water?”

Wen Xingchen shook the bottle of mineral water in his hand.

Without hesitation, Lu Jingning reached out to take it. However, he noticed Wen Xingchen retracting his hand and then pulling out a new bottle from the side.

Lu Jingning thought to himself that Wen Xingchen was really fastidious, but he nonchalantly took the bottle, tilted his head back, and took a sip. Then, he casually asked, “Don’t you want to play?”

Wen Xingchen curled his lips. “Do you want me to play?”

Lu Jingning pondered for a moment and said, “Not really. It doesn’t matter if you play or not.”

Wen Xingchen: “…”

The break ended quickly.

Jian Luan, who couldn’t find any playing time, left the court feeling disheartened and was replaced by a tall player from the adjacent class.

As for the Second Faculty, it seemed that due to their temporary disadvantage, they had some unpleasantness and ended up making three substitutions, a significant overhaul of their lineup.

As they took the court again, Lu Jingning was observing the situation around him when suddenly someone blocked his path, leaving him puzzled.

It was a mischievous chestnut-haired person who looked at Lu Jingning with interest before speaking with a meaningful tone, “Light of the Omegas, let’s have some fun together in the second half.”

Lu Jingning remained indifferent. “Oh?”

With the referee’s whistle, the game officially resumed.

Lu Jingning quickly understood what the so-called “fun” meant.

Within minutes of the second half starting, as soon as he received the ball, the chestnut-haired person’s arm made intimate contact with his abdomen.

The slight motion went unnoticed by the referee. If Lu Jingning hadn’t seen the triumphant smile on the person’s face, he would have thought it was an accidental injury.

Lu Jingning felt the stinging pain in his abdomen, and his eyes gradually darkened.

However, this kind of cheating was not a one-time occurrence; it had just begun.

Whenever the referee couldn’t see, the chestnut-haired person deliberately resorted to some underhanded tactics, either colliding or pushing, targeting sensitive and vicious areas. Especially when Lu Jingning gained possession of the ball, he became even more skillful in employing these dirty tricks.

Seeing Lu Jingning’s increasingly unsightly expression, the chestnut-haired person laughed unpleasantly, “Light of the Omegas, what happened to your arrogance from the first half? Is it all gone already?”

Under normal circumstances, such actions would be tantamount to seeking death by repeatedly jumping off the edge. But while Lu Jingning was usually unruly, he had his own bottom line in certain matters. At this moment, he could feel the faint throbbing of his veins on his forehead. Glancing at the score on the scoreboard, he ultimately suppressed the impulse to go on a rampage and sneered, “You’ll find out soon enough!”

The chestnut-haired person casually replied, “Oh? You’re talking big. Let’s see how long you can hold on.”

The second half of the game continued with intense confrontations. The back-and-forth between players was even more intense than in the first half, with collisions and clashes dizzyingly fast. Yet, something seemed to be missing.

“What’s going on with Lu Jingning?” Jian Luan, with a towel around his neck, looked puzzled. “He was so flamboyant in the first half. How come I haven’t seen him do anything since I stepped off the court? Is it because he can’t keep up physically?”

Wen Xingchen, next to him, didn’t answer. Instead, he suddenly stood up.

Confused, Jian Luan glanced at Wen Xingchen’s icy expression and instinctively shivered. The words on his lips instantly retreated upon seeing that stern look.

Wen Xingchen casually tossed his jacket onto the chair back and said calmly, “Prepare for a substitution.”

Chapter 16 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 16

Their classes happened to be arranged next to each other. As soon as the bell rang, Yu Qingcang squatted directly at the classroom door. When he saw Lu Jingning and the others coming out, he excitedly waved his hand and exclaimed, “Over here, over here!”

Lu Jingning walked at the front, followed leisurely by Wen Xingchen. Jian Luan, with unsteady steps, was at the back. The soreness throughout his body made him feel like every cell in his body could fall into a deep sleep at any moment. He had never wished so intensely to be a pampered Omega, otherwise, he wouldn’t be on the verge of death with no one showing any concern.

Unexpectedly, Yu Qingcang, who usually seemed careless, was surprisingly attentive. When they walked together towards the cafeteria, he noticed Jian Luan’s discomfort and immediately came over, firmly supporting him.

Jian Luan felt his legs finally steady, and he couldn’t help but look at him gratefully. “Thank you, bro.”

Yu Qingcang gave him an incredibly friendly smile, then discreetly glanced at the two people in front of them. He leaned closer to Jian Luan and lowered his voice. “Did something stimulating happen to your class’s Alphas? They all seem on the verge of death. Did it occur during class?”

Jian Luan remained silent. Seriously, is this guy here just to gossip?!

Meeting Yu Qingcang’s expectant gaze, he gave a wordless glance of indifference. “Do you know why Xiao Ming’s grandmother can live…”

Before he could finish, Yu Qingcang eagerly interrupted him, his face showing signs of suppressed laughter. Eventually, he patted Jian Luan’s shoulder with deep empathy and concern, asking, “How’s your knee doing?”

Being patted like that, Jian Luan’s already weak legs almost gave in again. Fortunately, he quickly grabbed Yu Qingcang’s arm, using it for support. His face instantly darkened. “Do I look ‘fine’ to you right now?”

If he had known this would happen, he would have chosen to be in a group with Wen Xingchen. Who could handle such a close-range impact of those pheromones?

Yu Qingcang finally couldn’t hold back his laughter. “No worries, no worries. Once bitten, twice shy. You’re welcome to submit to Lu Jingning’s terrifying dominance together with me!”

Jian Luan couldn’t help but roll his eyes and finally burst out, “Get lost!”

Hearing the commotion from behind, Lu Jingning curiously asked Wen Xingchen, “When did those two become so close?”

Wen Xingchen didn’t even turn his head. “Just now, probably?”

At the cafeteria, the four of them found a seat and sat down.

Before the meal began, Yu Qingcang quietly envied the collective Alphas of Class 3 again. Suddenly, he remembered something. “By the way, the school is going to hold the Traditional Basketball Tournament soon. It’s said to be organized by academies. Both of you S-class individuals should participate, right?”

Wen Xingchen took a bite of his food without saying a word, but it was evident that he wasn’t very interested.

However, it was clear that Yu Qingcang’s words weren’t directed at him.

Sure enough, Lu Jingning next to him looked over with genuine interest. “Traditional basketball tournament? Imperial Navy University is still organizing such an old-fashioned event?”

Yu Qingcang replied, “Well, it’s to quickly integrate the new students into the school’s culture. I just received the news. The official announcement should be made tomorrow. I say, Lu Jingning, as the only S-class Omega in the entire school, don’t tell me you’re not preparing to make a grand appearance at a time like this. It’s not like you.”

“Who said I’m not going?” Lu Jingning smiled. “Isn’t this the perfect opportunity for Alphas to show off? I love playing against Alphas the most! Just wait until I release my pheromones directly. Hehehe…”

Jian Luan, who had been quietly eating his meal, lost control of his legs upon hearing this and nearly knelt down again.

Damn it!

“What are you thinking? How can you use pheromones?” Yu Qingcang cleared his throat. “It’s called the Traditional Basketball Tournament for a reason. Naturally, the more orthodox are tested. If everyone starts using pheromones, what’s the point? It will turn into complete chaos on the court.”

Lu Jingning let out a disappointed “Oh. Well, that works too. It doesn’t make much difference to me whether I use them or not.”

Yu Qingcang’s expression carried a hint of anticipation. “According to the seniors, the basketball tournament is usually when Alphas demonstrate their prowess in front of Omegas. Although our Quadruple Faculty are known as an ascetic bunch, every one of us can be considered elite. Let’s see if we can take this opportunity to attract some Omegas from other academies.”

Lu Jingning raised an eyebrow. “Ascetic bunch? Do you think I’m invisible?”

“Don’t joke around. You’re definitely the most beautiful Omega in the world!” Yu Qingcang’s words suddenly choked in his throat as he caught sight of something behind Lu Jingning. He quickly corrected himself as he still had a strong will to survive. “Y-yes! You’re, of course, the most beautiful Omega in the world! But we lowly ordinary Alphas don’t dare to have any thoughts. Well, aside from looking for other Omegas, what other choices do we have?”

Lu Jingning nodded. “True, you’re right. I suppose you mortals wouldn’t dare to harbor any ideas about me.”

Meanwhile, Wen Xingchen, who had been quietly eating, glanced at Lu Jingning, seemingly lost in thought.

On the side, Jian Luan continued to quietly eat his meal, his eyes subtly brightening as he listened to their conversation. A Traditional Basketball Tournament? Applause, cheers for Omegas! Oh, he desperately needed a sweet and delightful little Omega to free him from the terrifying shadow of that devilish Omega and comfort his wounded heart. This event was perfect for him!

As expected, the news about the Traditional Basketball Tournament quickly spread among the freshmen in the first year. Lu Jingning, Yu Qingcang, and Jian Luan enthusiastically signed up, but surprisingly, Wen Xingchen, who had shown little interest before, also submitted his application.

When Ren Jin learned about Lu Jingning’s participation while visiting his dorm, he became extremely excited. He immediately grabbed his communicator and ran out, declaring that he would inform the members of the support group about this groundbreaking news. They must organize themselves and show their support for the “Light of the Omegas” in-person.

Lu Jingning didn’t pay much attention to it. On the day of the basketball tournament, he confidently stood among the Quadruple Faculty’s tent wearing his jersey.

As students from other faculties passed by, their gazes lingered briefly on Wen Xingchen before firmly settling on Lu Jingning, the legendary S-class Omega.

Leaning against the railing, Lu Jingning lazily raised his eyes, not paying much attention to the growing crowd. He then leaned towards the person next to him and said, “Why do these people keep staring at me? Are they gathering intelligence?”

Wen Xingchen glanced at his brilliant golden hair and casually replied, “It’s probably because you’re eye-catching.”

Lu Jingning followed his gaze and lightly tugged on his hair, frowning slightly. “Is that so? Should I consider changing my hair color?”

Wen Xingchen responded, “No need. The golden hair looks good on you.”

Lu Jingning nodded. “Alright then, I won’t dye it!”

Wen Xingchen was picky about everything, so if he said it looked good, then it must truly look good.

As the two of them chatted casually, the students in the resting area observed discreetly, feeling deeply moved. Judging from the number of people in the resting area, only eight individuals came from the Quadruple Faculty. It seemed insufficient compared to the grand preparations of the other faculties, which had a total of around twenty to thirty players. However, everyone knew that despite their small numbers, the Quadruple Faculty excelled individually. In terms of basketball, they were not to be underestimated, especially with two S-class powerhouses among them.

Although the classification of pheromone levels was just a measure, an individual’s pheromones often directly affected their physical abilities. This unique advantage would undoubtedly come into play during the Traditional Basketball Tournament.

The pressure on the other faculties was undeniably immense. However, if they could defeat the Quadruple Faculty on the court, even in just one game of the Traditional Basketball Tournament, they could proudly claim, “I once defeated an S-class player.” It would undoubtedly elevate their reputation!

Moreover, there were so many exquisite and attractive Omegas present today.

In the Imperial Navy University’s typical environment of limited Omegas, this scene was enough to ignite the fierce fighting spirit of all the Alphas, making their blood boil.

What if, by chance, a graceful basket shot caught the eye of a certain Omega, paving the way for a beautiful romance?

As the spectators gradually filled the stands, all the Alphas couldn’t help but feel restless, eagerly wanting to display their majestic prowess before the Omegas.

In the Quadruple Faculty’s preparation area, Jian Luan actively warmed up, posing with a casual yet handsome stance while occasionally glancing towards the stands.

So damn flirtatious.

Lu Jingning, who was not accustomed to warming up, stood by and watched. When he noticed Wen Xingchen sitting still, he couldn’t help but ask, “Why don’t you get moving?”

Wen Xingchen leaned back in his chair. “No need. I might not even get to play.”

Lu Jingning thought it made sense and didn’t say much. His gaze inadvertently swept over the entrance to the stands, coincidentally catching sight of a group of people entering. He let out a soft “Oh.”

The newly arrived group was composed entirely of Omegas, clearly arriving as a team. Their sudden appearance made them the most eye-catching scene, drawing the attention of the other Alphas, who turned their heads.

Awooo, this is spring! They loved the Traditional Basketball Tournament!

At that moment, the referee blew the whistle, indicating that the first match between two faculties was about to begin.

The players from the Second faculty and the Quadruple Faculty stood up one after another, feeling the gazes of the Omegas in the stands. Everyone straightened their spines instinctively.

As they walked towards the stage, they subconsciously raised their chins, wanting the audience to get a clear view of their magnificent, handsome faces.

The cheers and support grew louder. The group of Omegas who had just entered appeared extremely excited. However, as the last player from the Quadruple Faculty leisurely followed the team onto the court, it was as if a unique switch had been pressed. All the Omegas in the audience instinctively stood up.

The sudden burst of sound seemed to transport everyone to another dimension.

“Ah! Lu-bro, look at me! I love you!”

“Lu-bro is so handsome! Beat those Alphas to death!”

“Long live the Omega light! I’m Lu-bro’s brainless fan!”

“Wuwuwu, today’s Lu-bro is breaking the sky!”

“I’m in love! I’m Lu-bro’s little fangirl!”

Originally, the Alpha players who were striding confidently towards the stage stumbled for a moment, almost falling flat on the ground. When they regained their composure and looked back, they saw Lu Jingning wearing a black coat on his shoulders, one hand loosely in his pocket, and the other waving nonchalantly towards the stands.

In this carefree and rascally manner, a variety of screams echoed through the air.

Alphas: What the fvck???

What happened to the deep bonds that couldn’t be erased between Alphas and Omegas? What happened to attracting the Omegas with our suave and elegant demeanor? Can’t you look at us, too, instead of just staring at a single Omega?

The Alpha-to-Omega ratio in the Imperial Navy University was already suffocating, and now, on top of that, they had to be wary not only of other Alphas but also of Lu Jingning, who didn’t look the least bit like an Omega?!

It was too difficult! The love lives of these Alphas were truly too difficult!

Author’s note: Lu Jingning: It’s too difficult to conceal this damn charm!

Chapter 15 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 15

When Lu Jingning stood up, all eyes in the room fell on him simultaneously. The four Alphas in his group were ignored and couldn’t do anything about it. It was inevitable because of the “one Omega among tens of thousands of Alphas” setting, which destined them to receive vastly different levels of attention.

As Lu Jingning walked towards the stage, Jian Luan calmly approached him and whispered, “When we test later, lean towards my direction. Don’t worry, I’ll try to control the intensity so that I can lighten your burden a bit.”

Based on their camaraderie in life-and-death situations on the battlefield, Jian Luan was trying to be considerate. However, Lu Jingning casually patted his shoulder and said, “Thanks, but I think you should take care of yourself first.”

Jian Luan replied, “Huh? I’m doing this for your own good!”

Lu Jingning smiled, “I’m doing it for your own good too.”

“…”

Jian Luan watched as Lu Jingning casually walked to the far opposite side of him, and couldn’t help but sarcastically gesture at hin in frustration. He couldn’t understand why Omegas nowadays didn’t follow the delicate and gentle path. Why were they so strong-willed? Accepting protection doesn’t mean they have to distance themselves so deliberately.

Thinking that, Jian Luan took his position.

Hmph, how ungrateful!

Seeing everyone in their positions, Ji Han raised his notebook again and said calmly, “Let’s begin.”

Although hesitant at first, the students in the final batch adjusted themselves and started releasing their pheromones. The four Alphas currently on the stage were not as strong as Wen Xingchen, but their pheromone intensity was above average in the class. The simultaneous release caused other students sitting in their positions to feel a certain level of oppression.

Although Lu Jingning appeared nonchalant earlier, the difference between standing from a distance and being on the stage was huge. As the only Omega in the class, everyone subconsciously looked towards him.

For a moment, the atmosphere was unusually silent. The invisible pheromones restrained and countered each other, creating a turbulent undercurrent. While the others actively showcased their abilities, Lu Jingning stood still, not even moving his posture.

Some people had already stood up from their seats, showing concern.

Was he feeling uncomfortable? Or did he faint from being immersed in such intense Alpha pheromones?

Indeed, no matter how strong someone appeared, being exposed to the impact of Alpha pheromones from such a close distance was undoubtedly challenging for an Omega.

Just as some people were considering whether to go on stage and rescue him, they suddenly saw Lu Jingning slowly raise his arm and bring it to his mouth, then let out a leisurely yawn.

Everyone: …

Everyone: ????

What the hell, wasn’t he supposed to faint?!

Ji Han happened to witness this scene as he finished recording and he furrowed his brow. “Lu Jingning, do you still have the strength to release your pheromones?”

After yawning, Lu Jingning’s eyes seemed to be a little watery. He blinked away some of his drowsiness and replied, “Teacher, have you finished observing the others?”

Ji Han was speechless. “Just take care of yourself.”

Lu Jingning chuckled, “Okay, then I’ll begin.”

While the other Alphas on the stage struggled against each other, they were initially worried about whether they would overly affect this Omega classmate. However, he seemed completely unaffected, which almost made them spit blood.

But when Lu Jingning finished speaking, they became alert again.

After all, they were in a public setting. If they were uncontrollably affected by the Omega’s pheromones and ended up performing something like forcibly pushing someone down, they would feel ashamed for the rest of their military school life.

No, absolutely not!

So, the Alphas on stage, including Jian Luan, instantly focused their minds and tightly controlled their rationality.

Lu Jingning, seemingly unaware of their unusual tension, casually raised his eyelashes.

In that moment, it felt as if the Alpha pheromones that had been lingering in the air solidified. Immediately after, an invisible force pressed down heavily, freezing the entire airflow in the room.

Whether it was the people on stage or those standing in front of their seats, they all involuntarily felt a bit absent-minded.

It was a feeling they had never experienced before. It was as if something was tightly restraining their limbs, rendering them unable to move even a millimeter.

After a two-second pause, the aura that had been quietly surrounding Lu Jingning suddenly exploded.

A powerful gust of wind erupted from his position, spreading outwards in all directions. The Alphas in the room, even those far away, instinctively moved their noses, sensing a tangy and cool scent that resembled green plum sauce.

Undoubtedly, it was an incredibly enticing aroma.

For a moment, the Alphas couldn’t help but be dazed. However, instead of the uncontrollable impulse they had imagined, they felt an electric current flowing through their bodies, causing their limbs to uncontrollably tingle with a subtle numbness.

Unpredictably, under the influence of the released pheromones, a sense of unease emerged.

However, as soon as the potent pheromones were released, they swept through the entire classroom, completely devouring the Alpha scents that filled the venue.

In such a dominating manner, the pheromones completely overwhelmed the entire space.

At this moment, no one was worried about going into estrus anymore.

Now, they could clearly feel that their hearts had no intention of stirring, but under the dual physical and psychological pressure of this mysterious force, even maintaining a standing posture felt incredibly difficult.

The Alpha students all looked at Lu Jingning with a mix of awe and fear.

What kind of devilish Omega was he?!

Unlike Wen Xingchen’s S-class Alpha pheromones that exuded an overwhelmingly oppressive aura, making them feel subservient in his presence, Lu Jingning resembled a queen. Under the physiological and psychological pressure, they subconsciously wanted to… kneel and worship.

Hmm? An Alpha actually wanted to kneel and worship an Omega?! What the hell was going on!

As the word flashed through their minds, all the Alphas couldn’t help but feel embarrassed, realizing that either the world had gone mad or they had gone mad themselves.

And at this moment, they could only struggle to maintain their last shred of dignity as Alphas. However, the excruciating headache made their legs tremble uncontrollably.

The Alphas on stage, the closest to Lu Jingning, fell to their knees one after another with a soft “thump.” Jian Luan, who lasted a bit longer in comparison, also collapsed to the ground after a few seconds.

With a demonstration like that, the others in the room couldn’t resist the domino effect. Even those who wanted to save face and grit their teeth to remain standing couldn’t hold on for more than two seconds. One by one, they knelt to the ground.

Fortunately, the classroom door was tightly shut during the class. Otherwise, if someone happened to pass by, they would witness a large-scale worship scene.

Lu Jingning, satisfied with the results, quietly retracted his pheromones. The oppressive feeling gradually subsided, and all the Alphas felt a lightness in their bodies. They subconsciously felt a sense of relief, as if they had just survived a catastrophe.

The people who knelt down helped each other stand up, their faces looking a little pale. When their gazes fell upon Lu Jingning, their eyes carried a complex mix of emotions, but they silently agreed not to ask any questions.

A group of Alphas had been brought to their knees by an Omega. If news of this spread, their Alpha dignity would be utterly destroyed.

Thinking this way, they turned their heads to look at Wen Xingchen.

No wonder he was S-class. They were just A-class Alphas, after all. They couldn’t possibly compare!

Wen Xingchen could feel the gazes from all directions, and without guessing, he knew what they were thinking. He lowered his eyes, allowing a hint of surprise to flash past, and he couldn’t hide a slight smile at the corner of his mouth.

Wen Xingchen didn’t kneel down, and that was great!

With the course progressing to this point, everyone was paralyzed, and the remaining activities for the day couldn’t continue.

Ji Han decided to switch today’s activities for a theoretical lesson instead.

As the dismissal bell rang, everyone walked out of the classroom feeling drained. After just one class, they felt as if their energy had been completely drained.

Ji Han tidied his teaching materials and out of the corner of his eye, he saw a figure preparing to leave. He suddenly called out, “Lu Jingning.”

Lu Jingning looked up in confusion, “Is there anything else, teacher?”

Ji Han furrowed his brows slightly, hesitated for a moment, and reminded him, “Remember not to release your pheromones too easily in the future.”

Lu Jingning realized and waved his hand with a smile, “Don’t worry, I understand.”

“Okay, you can go now.”

Ji Han watched him leave with a complex expression.

After all, he was a semi-S-class pheromone holder, but under Lu Jingning’s pheromone influence, he wouldn’t have been able to stand if not for the support of the lectern. This S-class Omega freshman seemed to be beyond his expectations.

Author’s note: The aroma of pheromones determines who is the protagonist and who isn’t. Green plum sauce is the best aroma you can have. It’s tangy and sweet, and especially alluring. Officially certified! (Am I being self-indulgent?)

Chapter 14 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 14

Lu Jingning felt the stares of his classmates and internally rolled his eyes.

Looking at him again? Why are they looking at him again! All they do is look at him all the time! What? Have they never seen an Omega with so much Alpha-ness?

Jihan didn’t seem to notice the students’ hesitation, or rather, even he did, he didn’t seem to care. Scanning the circle, he asked, “Groups of five. Any volunteers?”

No one said a word, clearly no one wanted to become a test subject for the first round.

Jihan took out the attendance sheet straight away and called out a few names at random: “Miao Fen, Bu Yinghao, Ju Jing, Du Manning and Yao Kaiyu.”

The classrooms at the Imperial Navy University are somewhat unique in that, apart from the staircase where students are seated, a series of equipment on the lectern is retrieved by a robotic arm to reveal a large open space.

The few whose names were called stood in a circle in the middle of the clearing, all freshmen after all, standing wide-eyed and somewhat unsure of what to do next.

Jihan prompted, “No need to hold back. Just imagine the others as your opponents and concentrate on exploding your pheromones as much as you can. Let’s begin.”

The few people on the stage smiled and their hands clenched into fists one by one as the expressions on their faces gradually firmed up.

Among the five, there were two female and three male Alphas. Although they were all novices, they all had A-class pheromones, so when they burst out at full power at the same time, even though they were at a distance, the students in their seats could vaguely feel a strong sense of oppression. For a moment, all attention was completely drawn to the stage.

In order to leave a good impression during the first class, those on stage clearly exerted their utmost effort. They resisted the intimidation brought by each other’s pheromones while defiantly releasing their own, showcasing their own strength.

There were indeed differences in the physical constitution between males and females. Ju Jing and Du Manning, the two female Alphas, were the first to give in. They gasped for breath as they retreated from the area dominated by pheromones.

The remaining three continued to compete, but after a while, Miao Fen and Bu Yinghao were defeated one after another, leaving only Yao Kaiyu standing proudly on the stage. He then retracted his pheromones. He was drenched in sweat and revealed a relieved smile.

Jihan stood by the side, making notes throughout the process. After it ended, he looked around and gave individual feedback, “Ju Jing, your pheromone release is intense but lacks endurance, which may affect your future performance in mecha combat. On the other hand, Du Manning, you’re the opposite. Though your release is stable, the intensity is insufficient, making you susceptible to disadvantages in actual battles. Miao Fen, your pheromone fluctuations are too extreme. This intermittent release needs to be improved to avoid potential weaknesses. As for Bu Yinghao, you have relatively good control in all aspects, but being too balanced may not necessarily be an advantage; it indicates a lack of strength in various areas that need improvement. As for Yao Kaiyu…”

At this point, he paused slightly, then displayed an approving smile, “Both your control and inherent strength are excellent, making you the best one so far.”

After receiving the feedback, everyone silently noted their strengths and weaknesses.

After the demonstration of the first group, the remaining students now had a better idea of what to expect.

However, the collective pheromone release just now had truly fascinated everyone.

It was fortunate that everyone present were Alpha-class or higher . Otherwise, if it were students from other academies, for B-class or C-class, even at a distance, it would have been difficult for them to withstand such a powerful onslaught of pheromones.

As the only Omega in the room, everyone thought Lu Jingning would need to leave midway, but to their surprise, he remained composed even under such strong Alpha pheromones. Not only was he unaffected by their intensity, but he also leaned in next to Wen Xingchen, discussing and critiquing.

An Omega’s reception of Alpha pheromones was different after all, so those who were closer occasionally overheard their conversation that went like this:

“Du Manning’s pheromones don’t seem quite right. They have a sour smell, could it be body odor?”

“Ju Jing’s scent is more fragrant with a hint of bread flavor. Hmm, quite appetizing.”

“Wen Xingchen, it’s such a pity that you Alphas can’t smell. Bu Yinghao’s scent is like durian, right? Oh? Miao Fen’s scent doesn’t smell good, it’s a bit like garlic.”

“But Yao Kaiyu’s pheromones smell so good. It’s… hmm? It’s like a clear broth udon. Ah, I love this scent.”

Everyone’s eyelids twitched as they listened.

Bread, durian, garlic, and clear broth udon? Are you sure it’s the scent of pheromones and not your lunch menu?

An Omega actually openly expressed liking an Alpha’s pheromones in public. Can’t he show a little more dignity?!

While internally ranting, everyone subconsciously shifted their gaze towards Yao Kaiyu, feeling extremely disdainful.

Tsk, how can it be that Lu Jingning, an Omega like him, finds him pleasant?

Just wait, their scents will definitely be more pleasant!

As their minds were busy comparing one another, their attention was diverted. At that moment, no one noticed Lu Jingning leaning in next to Wen Xingchen, playfully sniffing his scent and licking his lips thoughtfully. “Wen Xingchen, when will it be your turn? I wonder what your pheromones smell like. Will they suit my taste?”

Wen Xingchen glanced at him and chuckled with interest. “You’ll find out soon, won’t you?”

Lu Jingning smiled, “I’m really looking forward to it.”

In any case, Wen Xingchen was the Alpha he considered the most suitable partner for future cooperation. Having a unique and comfortable working environment would be much more enjoyable than enduring the daily torment of being overwhelmed by unpleasant scents.

When Yao Kaiyu returned to his seat, he sensed the unusual gazes of others. Thinking it was due to receiving praise from the teacher, he didn’t think much of it. However, seeing Lu Jingning’s calm demeanor, his brows furrowed slightly.

Although they were at a distance, Yao Kaiyu had never encountered an Omega who acted as if nothing had happened after he fully released his pheromones. Lu Jingning’s nonchalant attitude left him feeling somewhat frustrated, even diluting the sense of accomplishment that Jihan’s praise for him.

After the first group had all returned to their positions, Jihan asked, “Any volunteers for the next group?”

This time, unlike before, five people rushed to the stage in an instant.

The number of students admitted to the Integrated Warfare Faculty each year was not large. Although it was considered its own faculty, there was actually only one major, divided into three classes, with each class having no more than twenty students.

By now, everyone had already realized that with Jihan’s method of grouping, there would be a total of four groups for the entire class. If they continued to passively wait for their names to be called, they would likely end up in the same group as Lu Jingning.

Although these Alpha freshmen didn’t think that an Omega’s pheromones would create much pressure in combat mode, they still had to consider how to control themselves.

Even outside of the estrus period, sometimes the spontaneous physiological reactions in the presence of an Omega are truly beyond one’s control. Lu Jingning couldn’t quite understand why these people were so eager to go up on stage, but he didn’t think too much about it. He turned to Wen Xingchen and asked, “When are you planning to go up?”

Wen Xingchen pondered for a moment and replied, “During the third batch?”

Lu Jingning nodded and said, “Alright, then I’ll go during the fourth batch.”

Jian Luan, who was sitting behind them, overheard their conversation. Since he didn’t manage to join the second batch, after intense consideration of the fierce battles, he reluctantly decided to wait until the end.

As an experienced person in matters of love and romance, he had quite a bit of experience with Omegas. He believed he shouldn’t (and dared not) have any improper thoughts about Lu Jingning, who was so incredibly audacious.

However, it would be different if he faced Wen Xingchen. Based on his understanding of Wen Xingchen, he feared that the confrontation might end before it even started.

The pheromone demonstration of the second batch went smoothly as well. The students with A-class pheromones displayed their skills based on their earlier observation but the actual power they showed were more or less the same.

By the time the third batch arrived, Wen Xingchen stood up from his chair.

Lu Jingning waved at him with a smile, “Good luck.”

Wen Xingchen replied, “Thank you.”

The demonstration began and ended in just three seconds.

Jihan: “…”

It ended too quickly, not even leaving enough time for him to take notes.

However, it was enough to see that there was a world of difference between S-class and A-class  pheromones.

The several individuals who were defeated in seconds appeared dejected. However, it was not only them, even those sitting far away couldn’t help but have a pale complexion.

They had never experienced such a powerful sense of oppression before, as if an invisible hand tightly restrained their throats, leaving them no chance to catch their breath.

It was terrifyingly strong!

Those who had gone up in the previous two batches couldn’t help but feel fortunate that they had completed their demonstration earlier. Otherwise, after being overwhelmed by Wen Xingchen’s formidable pheromones, their subsequent performance would likely have been greatly affected.

With lingering fear in their hearts, when they looked at the last group of students waiting to go on stage, their expressions involuntarily carried a hint of sympathy.

It was evident that these Alpha individuals were deeply affected; their faces appeared much paler, and even as they stood up, their figures seemed somewhat unsteady.

If the Alpha individuals are affected to this extent, not to mention Lu Jingning, an Omega… Almost everyone had the same thought in their minds. However, when they looked at Lu Jingning, they were surprised to find that his face showed no signs of being affected. On the contrary, he appeared even more radiant and full of vitality than before. His eyes, in particular, seemed to be shining brightly, expressing a sense of joy and excitement.

Everyone: “???”

It wasn’t surprising that Lu Jingning felt so pleased. After personally experiencing it, he discovered that Wen Xingchen’s pheromones were unexpectedly pleasant! They didn’t have the slightest hint of greasiness like the pheromones of other Alphas. Instead, they were gentle and soft, emitting a captivating scent.

Just the thought of a future collaboration filled with warmth and comfort made his eyes involuntarily curve into crescent moons as he couldn’t help but smile.

This plan was a success!

When Wen Xingchen returned, there was still a lingering scent of his pheromones. He first observed Lu Jingning’s condition from a distance before walking over with relief and asking, “How do you feel?”

Lu Jingning didn’t hold back and gave a strong affirmation, “In love!”

Wen Xingchen was satisfied and responded, “That’s great.”

The brief exchange between the two resulted in a world-shattering shock for the eavesdroppers.

What does this mean? How did they suddenly fall in love?

Is it true that the distance between love among AO individuals is just a matter of pheromones?!

Jihan lightly tapped his laser pointer on his notebook, coughed softly twice, and brought everyone’s thoughts back, saying, “Next, the final batch.”

Lu Jingning stretched his joints lazily and stood up from his chair with a casual tone, “Ah, finally, it’s my turn!”

Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Today went roughly like this. In the afternoon after finishing the pheromone test, the Omega freshmen present all went crazy. By the time they emerged from the theory test in the evening, it was all the Alpha freshmen’s turn to go crazy one after another.

The virus-like rumour of the so-called “S-class Omega” continued to spread and by the end of the evening, the whole school had gone completely mad.

Some couldn’t wait to see what this S-class Omega was all about. While many remained sceptical, their scepticism didn’t last long as the following afternoon the results of all the freshmans’ divisions were officially announced.

The information boards were packed with people, from those who were happy to have made it to the faculty of their choice, to those who were upset that they missed out.

The one in the far corner only had sixty names on the bulletin board. It looked much emptier than the other few that gave off the impression of being densely packed.

This was the list of new students admitted to the quadruple faculty this year. The number of places available was still as scarce as ever, but it was still the most talked about at the announcement site.

Standing at the corner to read the list were many other senior students.

At the top of this list were two freshmen with S-class pheromones that stood out in particular.

Both of them were assigned to Integrated Class 3. One was named Wen Xingchen and the other was Lu Jingning. One was an Alpha and the other an… Omega.

Yes, an Omega managed to enter the Imperial Navy’s Great Integrated Warfare Faculty!

The moment this list was announced, the whole school inevitably remembered Lu Jingning’s name as he was destined to be extraordinary.

Because he was already assured of his admission in advance, Lu Jingning did not go to read the faculty division announcement. Instead, he huddled under his blanket and slept all morning.

He has always loved to sleep since he was a child and was always taking a nap no matter what he had to do. He didn’t know if it had anything to do with his own somewhat special pheromones.

Lu Jingning was sleeping there when Yan Hebin went out. When he came back, he found that this person was still in the same position and never moved, so he couldn’t help but go to the head of the bed and tap him gently with the LCD board: “Still sleeping? Don’t you want to get up and look at the course schedule?”

“What course schedule?” Lu Jingning dazedly pulled open his covers.

Yan Hebin said, “The faculty division is over and the course class timetables are out. There are classes starting this afternoon, so if you want to keep sleeping, you have to check if there are any classes first.”

“……”

Lu Jingning froze slightly for a moment and brought the communicator at his bedside over to see that there was indeed a new document waiting to be read.

Sending these messages out so quickly at this time… He had a bad premonition about this.

When he opened it, he found out he actually had a class scheduled for this afternoon.

Pheromone Manipulation. At first glance, it seemed like a class with a particular haughty title. It was something that he was never exposed to in high school.

Lu Jingning ruffled his messy hair, casually looked through his communicator and found a dozen unread messages.

Three or four of them were from Qingcang. He took a look at them. The bulk of the message informed him that the faculty selection was over. The other also expressed regret for not being able to enter the same class with him before finally reminding him that there was class in the afternoon and that he shouldn’t oversleep.

At this moment when he was asleep, this old friend, who knew him excessively well, never came to disturb him.

Other than these messages from Yu Qingcang, the rest came from his old man, Lu Kongbin.

While the tone of the first few messages seemed fairly calm and was mostly asking about his final class placement in a pretentious manner, the next few looked like they were clearly getting progressively more and more impatient.

Later, he probably called the school personally to ask about it. His tone was suddenly extraordinarily uplifting, even after never receiving any reply, he only sent over an audio clip.

Lu Jingning yawned and didn’t think much about it. He lazily pressed the play button.

Lu Kongbin’s voice was instantly played without reservation: “How worthy of my son Ning. To have straight S-class pheromones! You really have some resemblance to myself in my youth hahaha! Congratulations on your entry into the Quadruple Faculty, but this is only the first step, it’s up to you to unify the Imperial Navy now. Show them how good Lu Kongbin’s son is, hahahahahaha…”

The latter did not finish speaking when Lu Jingning turned it off directly with a shake of his hand.

Turning back with a head full of black lines, he met the judging eyes cast by Yan Hebin and curled the corners of his mouth awkwardly, “Ahem, my dad is like that.”

He said, “Your father is very energetic.”

Lu Jingning: “……”

Why did a word like “energetic” sound so strange when applied to someone as old as Lu Kongbin?

After everything, Lu Jingning had class in the afternoon, so he could only get up reluctantly.

He didn’t bother to go to the canteen at mealtime, and just heated up a thermos lunch box before eating it, seeing that it was almost time to head out.

He had just worn his shoes when he heard Yan Hebin suddenly ask, “Are you not going to put on your uniform cap?”

Lu Jingning looked outside at the somewhat sunny stars and casually responded, “Ah, no, I’m not afraid of getting a tan.”

He didn’t really mean anything by it, so he didn’t say much and continued to focus on building his mecha model.

Lu Jingning carried his satchel out of the door. Only when he was halfway to his destination did he seem to understand the reason why Yan Hebin had asked him that before he left at the door.

He didn’t go out in the morning, so naturally he didn’t know the uproar he was causing in school.

As the Integrated War Faculty was the most elite institution in the whole school in terms of the entire student population, in order to encourage the students to respect these elites, the bulletin board not only neatly and uniformly listed out all the selected candidates, but also featured photos of all the elite new students. After this morning, almost all those present had already clearly memorised Lu Jingning’s appearance.

It was because of this that he kept receiving stares from all directions while walking around, as though he was the new man of the hour.

But Lu Jingning had thick skin, so he just accepted the stares and even enjoyed it as he walked slowly.

His presence silenced the otherwise lively classroom for a moment.

The sudden appearance of an Omega in a room full of Alpha, no matter what, would always bring about strong incongruities.

Lu Jingning walked in without glancing at them, and unsurprisingly saw a familiar figure, so he walked over and asked with a smile, “Is there anyone sitting here?”

From his angle, the seat next to Wen Xingchen was indeed empty, but the others knew that Jian Luan, who had just been here, had temporarily gone to the washroom.

Everyone had expected Lu Jingning to be rejected without question, but instead they heard Wen Xingchen respond indifferently, “Sit down, there’s no one there.”

Then, without changing his expression, he saw him pull Jian Luan’s backpack out from under the table and casually throw it onto the seat at the back.

His movements were so skilful and natural that it was as if he was just carelessly disposing of a bag of rubbish.

The crowd: “???”

Lu Jingning, of course, was nonchalant and simply shoved his bag into the drawer and sat down with a big grin.

When Jian Luan came back, he found that there was an extra person in his seat. When he got a good look at that person, he suddenly took a look at Wen Xingchen a bit sadly, but he dared not say anything in case it might anger him and walked towards the back row with an aggrieved face.

The others didn’t dare to mess with Wen Xingchen, so they actively gathered around Jian Luan’s side and whispered to pry, “What’s the situation with the two of them?”

Jian Luan put the bag back down and said expressionlessly, “Do you know why some grandmas can live for hundreds of years? That was because she always minded her own business!”

The crowd: “…”

Jian Luan coldly and solemnly dismissed them. As he looked at the two who were sitting next to each other in the front, he could not help but look up at the ceiling.

He never imagined that a man like Wen Xingchen would be the lustful type after falling in love, simply careless about the way he treats his friends!

Thinking of this, he looked up again and the two were glued together now. He didn’t know what to say, the two tightly clasped hands were very visible.

Jian Luan: “……”

What a disgrace. Flirting and touching each other in public! It’s a disgrace!

The two in front of him were comparing their hand strength, completely unaware of what was wrong with their actions.

Wen Xingchen: “You do have quite a lot of power.”

Lu Jingning: “Right? How else could I be S-class, hehehe.”

Wen Xingchen: “That, I really didn’t think of it before.”

Lu Jingning: “What? An Omega can’t be S-class?”

Wen Xingchen: “Before the test, I didn’t think I would be S-class.”

After hearing him add this, Lu Jingning felt much better and revealed an arrogant smile, “So, Wen Xingchen, you should be more careful from now on! I’m determined to become number one among the new students!”

Wen Xingchen lowered his eyes to glance at the overly dazzling face and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, “Go for it.”

Lu Jingning: “…”

Sometimes this guy was really annoying, always looking so unconcerned with the world, blandly encouraging others like this. It’s no wonder that whoever came to pick a fight last time got pissed-off half-to-death instead.

It always sounded like a concealed provocation! F-ck!

Thinking of the straight up cancerous Alpha he saw last time, Lu Jingning suddenly developed a hint of interest.

He wondered if that man’s pride was hurt and swollen after the results of the faculty selection was released?

The bell rang outside as a sturdy figure stepped into class on time, walking in through the door, “Hello everyone, I’m your teacher for the Pheromone Manipulation, Jihan.”

Lu Jingning froze slightly when he saw the newcomer, not expecting it to be the same invigilator who said he might not teach him during the theory test the other day.

Let’s just call it a kind of karma.

After introducing himself, he cut to the chase: “So, in order to get to know you better, I will invite you all to come up and demonstrate your pheromones one-by-one in our first class, so please be ready.”

Someone hesitated, but still asked weakly, “Teacher, do you mean… everyone?”

Jihan: “Yes, everyone.”

As soon as he finished his sentence, everyone fell silent.

Those who were able to enter the Quadruple Faculty are all at least A-class elites and were naturally confident about their pheromones.

Under normal circumstances, there would be no problem showing it in public, but in this case – there was an Omega in their class!

The crowd subconsciously cast their eyes towards Lu Jingning in horror.

Everyone knew about the relationship between the Alpha-omega pheromones and its masked ability. Was the teacher preparing them to cause a large-scale rutting scene or was it simply to test their patience?

Either way, it was just their first class, were they going to cause such a ruckus?

What the author wants to say:

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

It was obviously impossible to keep a low profile about this kind of thing. It was quickly spread by dozens of people from the originally small Omega group.

Many people didn’t dare to look for Lu Jingning, so they quietly went to see Ren Jin, who had actually seen the test result at the time. After getting a reply of confirmation, they only felt that the world was a little too much like a fantasy novel plot.

Omegas who were able to enter the Imperial Navy to study often had the ambition of joining the army, but as everyone knew, Omegas were always inferior to Alpha under the influence of pheromones. To hear of an S-class concentration Alpha, would already be an enviable thing after looking at their own sad C to B-class pheromones.

But it was different now. In this year’s batch of Omegas, they also had an S-class among them!

The Omega freshmen were all very excited and it was as if a radiant light suddenly opened from the skies and a rainbow bridge first emerged, washing away the dark haze.

This was probably the prideful feeling of making others feel envious!

Look here, there was another owner of S-class pheromones! He was also an Omega just like them!

When Ren Jin returned to the dormitory surrounded by the crowd, the Omegas in the entire school had already formed a “Brother Lu Fanclub” in tacit understanding, while he became the president of the fanclub with great honor.

At this time, everyone did it on a whim, and no one knew how well-known this president would be in the future.

And Lu Jingning, the sole subject, didn’t know that he had already had a fanclub full of fellow brother and sister fans. At this time, what he was thinking about was the last project of the quadruple faculty tonight, which caused him the most headache. Project, codenamed: The Theory exam.

The evaluation for one’s level of pheromone concentration was just an entry requirement for entering each faculty. As long as it is higher than the minimum requirements of each faculty, it will be converted into corresponding test scores.

The quadruple faculty that Lu Jingning wanted to go to was the one with the highest requirements for pheromones and regardless of whether one was an Alpha or Omega, all of them had to be class A or above.

This was enough for others to see how high the entry requirement was.

The S-class Lu Jingning has no doubt satisfied the entry requirements, so it was directly converted into 200 test points. Plus the 280 points he obtained in the previous practical test, he had a total of 480 points. Such an absolute high score was actually enough for him to safely enter his top choice, the Integrated Warfare Faculty.

Following Lu Jingning’s original intention, he was too lazy to participate in the theory test in the evening, but the Imperial Navy University required all freshmen to be present, otherwise all the test scores obtained before would be voided.

So he had no choice. When he saw that the time was approaching, he could only insert a laser pointer into his trousers pocket for writing his name and student number, before staggering to the test site for the prospective students of the Quadruple Faculty.

The moment he entered the door, everyone looked at him ceaselessly before going back to doing their own thing.

This time before the exam was actually very suitable for cramming, but after the afternoon pheromone test, nearly 3 out of 4 people failed to obtain the A-class rating, so they were automatically disqualified from getting a place at the Quadruple Faculty. As such, most did not take this theory test too seriously, getting together in twos and threes to chat with each other.

At first, Lu Jingning didn’t care too much. Seeing that Yu Qingcang hadn’t come, he just found a place to sit down, but before he could find a comfortable position and take a nap, he heard a few scattered words as they entered his ears.

“Hey, have you heard that crazy rumor on the Omegas side, saying that they have an S-class ranker this year.”

“Ah? An S-class Omega, are they collectively dreaming?”

“Hahahaha, could it be that they were agitated after hearing that we also have an S-class pheromone ranker on our side?”

“That bullsh-t is exaggerated. An S-class Omega? My old grandmother, grandfather, and my great grandmother as well as my great grandfather have never seen one before.”

“Actually, I understand their dissatisfaction, but who asked them to be born as Omegas.”

“Yeah, if it is in other fields, they have it easy in the palm of their hands, but I have to say that joining the army is really not suitable for them.”

“But it’s really too much this time, yet everyone is still saying that there is an S-class among them like it’s the truth.”

Lu Jingning’s eyes that had just closed slowly opened again. His eyes were blurred as he looked towards the other side. He looked at the people who were enthusiastically discussing this, stretched out his muscles, walked over lazily, before suddenly raising his hands and slapping the table heavily.

“Bang!” There was a big sound and although he withheld his power, the huge movement still attracted everyone to look over.

Those Alphas were inevitably startled and were about to have a heart attack. When they saw his unmistakable blond hair, the foul language in their throats was forced back inside.

They might’ve been unfamiliar with Lu Jingning at first and underestimated Lu Jingning before this, but during the actual combat test, this guy’s performance in dismantling the mecha with his bare hands was overkill. No one dared to treat him like an ordinary Omega.

Knowing that this man was too irascible, several Alphas exchanged glances, wishing to travel back in time and space to strangle their overly talkative self.

Damn, how can you forget that there is such a Master Omega in the examination room!

Seeing that Lu Jingning didn’t speak for a while, someone tried to smile dryly, trying to do something to save himself: “Well, fellow classmate… what we did just now, we didn’t mean to look down on Omegas.”

Others also laughed dryly and echoed: ” Yes, yes, we really didn’t mean that.”

Lu Jingning slightly raised the corners of his mouth. Following the eyes of the audience, his own eyes narrowed and his voice was not loud, but it was enough for everyone in the examination room to hear it clearly. He spit out two words slowly: “It’s me.”

The Alpha freshmen were a little dazed: “Huh?”

Lu Jingning said in a calm tone: “The rumored S-class Omega is me.”

The Alpha freshman laughed dryly: “Fellow classmate, stop joking.”

Lu Jingning lowered his eyes lazily and flickered his eyelashes: “Do I look like I’m joking?”

The smile on the Alpha freshmen’s faces suddenly froze under his gaze, unable to speak.

Just judging from his calm attitude and arrogant stare, it really didn’t look like it.

However, it is indeed difficult to accept that there was an S-class Omega after all those Alphas had failed the pheromone concentration test!

So, the rumors were true?

For a moment, it was as if time stopped at a push of a button as the audience suddenly fell into a strange silence.

Wait, the amount of information is too large, give them more time to process it.

When Wen Xingchen and the others entered the examination room, they saw such a scene.

Yu Qingcang set up a company with the two people in this dormitory after the practical test. Because he was too nervous, he didn’t feel the strange atmosphere in the room. He glanced at Lu Jingning and rushed over excitedly: “Lu Jingning, I heard that in your batch of Omegas, there was someone with an S-class pheromone? Without asking, it must be you, right?! Hurry up and spill it!”

Their fellow freshmen: “…”

Lu Jingning smiled slightly and was about to open his mouth when a man in a military uniform strode in and interrupted their conversation with a serious tone: “Everyone, return to your places and check your documents. The exam will start immediately. From this moment onwards, noise is prohibited.”

As his icy gaze swept across the room, an invisible sense of oppression instantly made everyone shudder.

There was no expression on that face and when his eyes passed over Lu Jingning, he paused for a moment, revealing a smile, if it could even be called a smile: “Oh, it’s you. That S-class pheromoned Omega?”

When his voice sounded out, all the Alpha freshmen subconsciously covered their chests and there was a clear and distinct sound of gasping from every corner.

With how things have developed, there was no need for Lu Jingning to prove himself. It can be said that he has directly obtained the official stamp of certification.

No matter how much one was unwilling to believe it, Lu Jingning’s S-class pheromone certification was authentic.

Many of them were about to cry.

What’s more was that there were Alphas that were eliminated because they couldn’t reach an A-class ranking, yet there really was an S-level Omega here?

What was wrong with this world?!

Lu Jingning was very happy to see this kind of development. When he met the man’s gaze, he said with a smile: “It is me. Nice to meet you, teacher~!”

“I may not be your teacher.” The man looked at him but still had a very business-like tone, “However, welcome to the Integrated Warfare Faculty.”

Following Lu Jingning’s actual combat test score, added together with the bonus score from the pheromone concentration ranking, even if he gets a 0 in the theoretical test, he already has enough points and it can be confirmed in advance that a seat in the Quadruple Faculty has already been reserved for him.

He was also the first Omega student since its establishment to join the Integrated Warfare Faculty.

With such absolute honor to be bestowed upon oneself, if it were someone else, they’d probably work hard to improve their total score. However, Lu Jingning only felt a headache when he saw the contents of the theoretical test. His intention to try and score even just one point did not exist at all.

When the topics of the theory test were displayed on the virtual screen in front of him, he only used his laser pointer to sign his name on it. After completely entering his student ID number, he lay down on the table and fell asleep.

The other Alpha freshmen who were working hard to get as many test points as possible raised their heads inadvertently, just in time to see the person who was extremely out of place in a group of straight backs: “…”

F-ck, was he even trying to take the exam?! This kind of mentality is wrong, completely wrong!!!

The author has something to say:

Lu Jingning: Can you blame me? [Shrug.jpg]

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

The pheromone testing room was already full of Omega students who went in for the concentration tests according to their respective numbers.

When it was Lu Jingning’s turn, he stepped in to take a glance at what looked like a mechanical chamber similar for doing full body scans. He then took off his shoes to lay down in it, following the inspector’s gesture.

The mechanical pods soon began to operate, the red beams of light passing back and forth over his body without really touching him before returning back to their initial position a few moments later.

The inspector said in a business-like manner, “That’s fine. Now go out and wait for the results.”

Lu Jingning glanced at the new instruments that were actively calculating their findings and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. He then picked up the jacket next to him and walked out without looking back.

The next Omega brushed up against him and walked into the testing room with a nervous look on his face.

In fact, it was not just the new students, but also the Omegas who had already completed their tests and were waiting for their results. They all still felt a little uneasy and kept glancing into the evaluations lounge from time to time.

Lu Jingning leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. He was staring at the stars hanging in the sky outside, but he was not burdened with heavy thoughts and started daydreaming.

This new type of capsule, which is used to accurately detect the concentration of pheromones, can only be found at elite military schools such as the Imperial Navy University, in addition to the military department.

Lu Jingning had not been tested systematically like this before, other than during his troubled first heat, when he went to the hospital.

According to the laboratory results of the hospital pheromone sample, his pheromones were somewhat peculiar. The peculiarities also concluded that he had somewhat of an excessive concentration of the Omega component.

As a rule of thumb, if his test results were much higher than the normal status quo, he should have been kept in hospital for observation. If it wasn’t for his father, he would have been locked up in an interstellar hospital for human research for this level of abnormality.

When a normal person finds out that something is wrong with their pheromones, they will inevitably feel a little panic. However, in this regard, Lu Jingning had to admit that his old man was a wonderful man, so not only did he not feel half worried when he got home, he was almost too excited, and was about to run out and tell the whole planet.

The pheromone concentration was so high that ordinary people might not feel it much, but Lu Kongbin, who was a first class colonel, knew it better than anyone else. His exact words at that time were like this: “Ning, you have to trust Dad’s judgment. You’re going to be the strongest Omega in the world! It doesn’t matter if you’re not an Alpha. Our goal is the starry sea, understand?”

Until now, when he thought about it, Lu Jingning still thinks that his old man had some chunni’s disease1Also known as third-grader’s syndrome at times.

He should get a grip!

As the minutes ticked by, the current Omegas had all finally completed their tests successfully and huddled in the corridors waiting for the results to be announced.

At the same time, the instruments in the testing room were working intensely on their calculations.

As the final results were produced, test sheets were being generated and forwarded to the window staff to be sent to the new students one by one through the counter in the evaluation room.

“How are the Omega of this batch?”

The sound of a thick voice rang out coldly from behind

The inspectors were taken aback and turned around to see an old man with white hair looking at them in a kind and friendly manner before consciously giving a military salute, “Good day, headmaster!”

No one expected that Bing Cang would come over to personally inspect the pheromone test.

Even if there was going to be an inspection, it would normally be during the testing of the new Alpha students, right?

Could it be possible that the old headmaster was expecting something from this year’s Omegas?

Though puzzled, one of the inspectors replied seriously, “A total of six B concentrations and 13 C concentrations have been evaluated so far, which is a high number overall compared to previous batches.”

Bing Cang scanned the test list on the table, said “Oh”, before asking, “Are all the results out?”

An inspector: “There’s still one last batch.”

Just at this time, the instrument next to him completed its data output.

Without looking, the inspector respectfully handed it over to Bing Cang: “That’s all, Headmaster.”

Bing Cang received it in his hand and flipped it over. His eyes paused slightly when it landed on a line on one of the test sheets. A trace of surprise flashed across his brows, followed by a thoughtful smile: “This kid is really something.”

The inspector next to him listened with a puzzled look on his face when Bing Cang had already handed the test sheet back to him before leaving without a word.

Everyone looked at each other in disbelief as they curiously gathered around and flipped through the newly released set of test sheets. When they reached the third page, there was suddenly an eerie silence.

This new student, Lu Jingning, had an “S” clearly written on his evaluated concentration level.

The inspectors who have gone through countless freshmen tests: “?!!!”

It should be exciting to see a second S-class concentration in this batch, but this freshman was not an Alpha, but an Omega!

An Omega with S-rank pheromones?

Simply unprecedented and unheard of, even in the billions of years of interstellar history!

If the instrument was not actually broken, then there really was a monster in this batch of Omega freshmen!

These inspectors, who had been working on pheromones for years, calmed down in a sequential manner after their initial shock. They then and then looked at the name of this person and their eyes could not help but show excitement, as they all unanimously took a keen interest in this S-class Omega.

Under normal circumstances, it is precisely because Omega’s pheromones are naturally weaker than Alphas that they are uncontrollably attracted to Alphas while the receivers in Alphas bodies have an innate preference for their an Omega’s soft pheromones, thus creating a natural causation of the mutual attraction between Alphas-Omegas.

But if an Omega’s pheromones were so powerful that they are S-rank, then they are clearly above the vast majority of Alphas. As such, could they still be successfully accepted by the receivers in the Alpha’s body?

This pheromone concentration was an exceptional condition and academically defined as a “pheromone disorder”. Such an Omega is destined to have a difficult time in finding a mate in the future.

But what a great piece of research material he was anyway!

In the blink of an eye, a large number of Omega freshmen had already collected their test sheets at the counter.

“Ah, you’re a B-class? Yan Hebin, that’s really great!” Ren Jin looked at Yan Hebin’s test results and happily congratulated him, but then felt very frustrated when he thought of his own weak F-class result, “There’s nothing I can do about it. Since it’s only an F class, I’ll just have to see what major I’m assigned to by the school when the time comes.”

The other also looked more relaxed as he reassured him, “Relax, all the majors at the Imperial Navy University are equally the most outstanding in the galaxy.”

Ren Jin nodded, “Hm! I think so too!”

Soo Jianian was the third to get his test sheet with a final grade of C, which can be considered unmeritorious.

So far, that leaves only Lu Jingning left.

Everyone was curious about Lu Jingning’s test results and waited very patiently before finally hearing his name being called out over the PA.

Lu Jingning snapped out of his dazed state and rubbed his loose blonde hair while yawning as he headed for the counter in the evaluation room.

He could feel the eyes of the other Omegas along the way.

None of these people were at the challenge, so they didn’t get to see Lu Jingning in action, but with all the buzz on the campus forums, everyone knew that there was a wild and cool Omega freshman in the same year as them, so of course they couldn’t help but feel curious when they heard this familiar name at this time.

Lu Jingning walked in amidst all the attention and reached out to receive his test results.

But somehow, the inspector just looked at him for a long time and didn’t let go of his test sheet. After tugging it a few times, he stopped tugging, afraid of tearing the sheet if he did it too hard. He couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows: “Teacher?”

The inspector then snapped back and let go of his hand.

Sigh, he was too fascinated so he became too engrossed looking at him.

Lu Jingning also noticed the oddity in his attitude and scanned down at the test results. His eyebrows were raised slightly before he smiled softly, “Hmm?”

By the time he went out, his little fanboy, Ren Jin had long been eagerly waiting at the door and immediately greeted him as soon as he saw him, “Brother Lu, how was it? Was it A? Was it an A grade?”

Lu Jingning gave him a look and shook his head.

The smile on Ren Jin’s face dropped for a moment, but he also quickly recovered, “It’s okay. B is also quite good! Omegas who are B-class are already strong enough!”

Lu Jingning: “Not a B either.”

“Huh?” Ren Jin’s expression looked and felt a little less than good. He lowered his voice incredulously, “C-class? No way?”

Lu Jingning smiled, “Not C.”

Ren Jin did not speak for a long time, or rather, he no longer knew what to say and just held his hands in front of his mouth tightly.

F-class? Lu, who was so powerful that he could take on two people at once, was actually an F-class like him?

He doesn’t believe it! He definitely doesn’t believe it!

It was the first time he saw this little fanboy reacting so emotionally so Lu Jingning amusingly rubbed his head and did not continue to tease him: “Don’t worry, it’s not F. Here, you can see for yourself.”

Ren Jin looked up blankly. The first time his eyes scanned the test sheet, he didn’t react at all.

After one more look, he felt only a little incredulous.

After rubbing his eyes vigorously and waiting for the third time to see it clearly and conclusively, he was so shocked that he completely failed to control his volume and let out a shocked cry, “S-class?! Brother Lu, your pheromone concentration is actually S-class?!!!”

He was usually so soft, so his voice couldn’t have been any louder, but the sheer volume of his information was enough to silence the otherwise noisy aisle for a moment.

Huh? What did they just hear?

S-class?

Feeling the stares cast around him, Lu Jingning leaned down slightly and pressed his fingers onto Ren Jin’s lips, blinking gently at him, “Shh, I want to keep a low profile.”

Ren Jin was speechless.

How low profile can he be?

The author has something to say:

Lu Jingning: How can I keep a low profile, ugh~

Crowd: Low profile, my ass!

T/N: S-class… More like Ass-class AHAHA get it?

Oki, me will shut up and go back to translating in my cave now… ✍(◔◡◔)

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

When Lu Jingning returned to the dormitory, his housemate, Yan Hebin, had also returned. After briefly enquiring him, he found that it was true that the content of the first exam of the other three faculty’s side was completely different from that of the Quadruple Faculty.

Simply put, it was much more lenient.

By this time, Lu Jingning had long since left the displeasure brought about by Cen Junfeng behind and asked his housemate very affectionately, “How did you do on your exams?”

Yan Hebin said indifferently, “Not bad, I got 98 points.”

A score of 100 out of 100, was already counted as the absolute highest score.

Lu Jingning knew that he was the kind of person who only said one word at a time, so he didn;t ask anymore, but after waiting and seeing that he really had nothing more to say, he couldn’t help but ask, “Aren’t you going to ask how I did on the exam?”

Yan Hebin gave him a look, “How did you do on the test?”

Lu Jingning had a smile, “I got 280 points!”

Yan Hebin spoke in a calm tone, “Oh, congratulations.”

Lu Jingning: “……”

He felt he shouldn’t have added such a comment. It felt half-hearted, like he didn’t just accomplish a great achievement!

The assessment was divided into three parts. The first part only consisted of the practical assessment, with the most crucial pheromone test being held tomorrow afternoon and the theory test later in the evening.

Although Yan Hebin did not say much, one could see that he was still a bit preoccupied.

In fact, pheromone attribute detection was the most difficult hurdle for most Omegas to overcome. After all, the gap between them and the Alphas in terms of pheromones was innate.

Since pheromones began to be used in combat across the galaxy, they have been divided into five classes, namely F, C, B, A and S, depending on the concentration of the components within their pheromones.

Because the concentration of pheromones directly affects the strength of energy, and because many powerful mechas now require a large amount of energy to operate, a soldier’s pheromone attributes often determine his ability to fight on the battlefield, whether in close-quarters combat or in large-scale military battles.

Based on previous tests, the concentration range of Alphas were usually between Class C and Class A at the initial stages, with as high as 80% of them being in Class B. The last time a Class S Alpha was found was three years ago, and it was extremely rare even in a prestigious military facility like the Imperial Navy University.

This test is less friendly for the Omegas,

For a relatively strong Omega, it was extremely rare to even have a B class pheromone concentration. Most of them were between F and C class, and even those who could barely enter A class concentration in the later stages are mostly able to do so through great efforts, not to mention the few S class concentration holders in the whole interstellar world.

Therefore, even if the pheromone concentration can be increased through cultivation, Omegas have a lower limit due to physiological factors, and their room for improvement is destined to be limited.

That was just purely based on concentration and not accounting for the suppressive relationship that exists in addition to the Alpha-Omega pheromones themselves.

It’s not for nothing that the default rule “Strong Alphas are stronger than weak Alphas while weak Alphas are stronger than strong Omegas” holds true for all of the Interstellar world. As such, it is not unusual that when you think of an Omega, being in the military wouldn’t be the first thing that’ll pop up in your mind.

An adult Omega also frequently undergoes an estrus period, which is very problematic even with the powerful inhibitors that Interstellar has in place. The use of inhibitors during estrus prevents the Omega from using their pheromone energy effectively, which indirectly makes it a huge problem during combat.

On the whole, compared to Omegas, a group whose chakra is weak and unstable, Betas have no pheromones of its own, but at least they are not disturbed by the pheromones of others and are more suitable for basic military operations in general, which is why a large proportion of the soldiers in the military are Betas.

In fact, Lu Jingning understood all this reasoning, but after having suffered enough losses since childhood, he just holds a defiant oath in his heart.

He was going to be the one to break the mold.

……

The Omega freshmen had their pheromone testing scheduled after the last batch of Alphas.

Lu Jingning was walking with Yan Hebin, followed by Ren Jin and Soo Jianian from their dorm next door. Before he could walk into the Science and Technology Centre, he was startled by the sudden outburst of awe from inside. When he looked up, he only saw a group of Alphas gathered in the corridor not far from the entrance and didn’t know what was happening.

Several people exchanged a look of bewilderment as Ren Jin bumbled over to enquire.

When the Alpha freshman saw that it was a soft and cuddly Omega, he spoke to him in an extremely friendly manner, his face full of overwhelming excitement.

As Ren Jin listened to them, a hint of shock flashed across his eyes as he subconsciously looked up for a couple of more moments. However, there were too many people in front of him so he could not see the person surrounded by them due to his limited height. He could only walk back with some disappointment and relayed what he had learned, “They said that an S-class pheromone concentration holder came out from testing just now.”

“S-class concentration?!” Soo Jianian was filled with envy as he listened and looked at this completed monitoring information sheet he held in his hand and said rather emotionally, “Forget S-class, I’d be thankful if I could get C-class.”

A grade of C in pheromone concentration is the minimum standard for Omega admissions at the other three colleges besides the Quadruple Faculty. If you don’t even achieve this grade, you will probably be one of those who are randomly assigned after being unsuccessful, and you may not be able to study in the major you want.

Yan Hebin stood by without saying a word.

He doesn’t know why, but as soon as he heard about the S-class Freshman Alpha, a tall figure came to Lu Jingning’s mind. He subconsciously glanced over towards the crowd.

Just then, there was a good deal of agitation under the crowd, as the Alphas gathered there made way for the man who came out in a star-studded manner.

Wen Xingchen’s expression still did not change much, holding the information sheet that showed he completed the test, as if he was not the S-class who had driven those people around him crazy.

The Alphas behind him looked amazed, envious, jealous, disgruntled and some were sneering. Each of them had their own thoughts.

Lu Jingning hadn’t seen such an interesting scene for a long time and stood in place with his hand tucked in his pockets just as Wen Xingchen looked up and met his own eyes.

Lu Jingning raised his eyebrows slightly and was considering whether he should say hello to this man of the hour when the sleeve on his arm was tugged. When he looked back, he only saw that it was Ren Jin tugging at him somewhat nervously.

The well-behaved face had turned red at some point, and at this point, it was not known if he was talking to himself or not. He murmured in a small voice, “Aaaahhh, this Alpha is so handsome! Really handsome! He’s coming, oh my, he’s really coming! What to do, oooh, I’m a bit weak in the knees……”

Lu Jingning: “……”

Ren Jin was small, soft and cute. Even Lu Jingning, an Omega, felt like he was a gentle little animal when he saw him and subconsciously wanted to put his arms around him and spoil him.

He usually looked so soft and sticky, but he didn’t expect him to be so cute even when he was an alpha-crazy nymph.

However, just looking at Wen Xingchen’s face, which definitely stands out even within the other Alpha, it was not really surprising that he can drive Omegas crazy.

What did that Jian Luan say again? Oh yes, this guy, was an Omega killer.

Lu Jingning thought, not moving to take a glance, but silently commented in his heart: Well, it is also true that his looks don’t match up to his real personality.

In the twinkling of an eye, Wen Xingchen had already walked up to him and looked at the information sheet Lu Jingning held in his hand, “Here for the pheromone test?”

Ren Jin did not expect this person to actually know Lu Jingning, but upon thinking about it, of course such an excellent Alpha could only be matched with a strong Omega like his master classmate, so he subconsciously shrank back and as his curious eyes scrambled to secretly observe them.

Lu Jingning was completely unaware that he was being inadvertently pulled over again and just responded idly, “En, it should be my turn soon.”

Thinking of something, he added with a smile, “Oh yeah, congratulations on your S-class pheromones.”

Wen Xingchen smiled faintly, “Thank you.”

Lu Jingning eyes swept over the leathery looking face, and for a moment he really couldn’t tell if this person really felt indifferent or was just putting on a show here.

The Alphas behind saw Wen Xingchen going over to greet a few Omegas and had long since stopped in unison to observe this from afar.

Wen Xingchen glanced back, wrinkled his brow slightly before walking away after greeting Lu Jingning.

Lu Jingning watched him leave as his back got smaller in the distance as the afterglow of the stars shone on him. He could not tell what he was feeling.

After standing quietly in place for a while without coming to a conclusion, he turned around and headed for the testing area on the third floor.

The Science and Technology Centre made an announcement, commencing the start of a new round of pheromone testing for this year’s Omega refreshments as it has now officially begun.

Throughout the years, the Omega pheromone tests have never been something anyone held too high of an expectation of and those Alpha present didn’t take too much interest in it before leaving after hearing the announcement.

Author’s Note: Lu Jingning: S-class? I want it too!

T/N: How are you guys liking the series so far? Is it interesting? I quite like the world-building, even if every event or plot in the story is catered towards Lu Jingning in the end. But that’s what I like about this novel, its easy to read and even easier on the heart. No angst or too much dog blood drama apart from a few light conflicts here and there, nothing to worry about because you know the MC will always come out on top.
