Chapter 59 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 59

The dinner that day was extremely enjoyable, at least that’s how Lu Jingning perceived it, and he wasn’t wrong.

After finishing the meal, Lu Jingning escorted Wen Xingchen like a true gentleman, walking him to the entrance of the Omega dormitory before parting ways.

The delightful experience further convinced Lu Jingning of the effectiveness of his pursuit. That night, lying on his bed, he read by the light of a lamp, delving deeper into his research.

Time flew by unnoticed, and a week passed after the exchange competition ended. That afternoon, they had their outdoor combat training.

Exhausted from a complete set of physical exercises, everyone was panting, lying sprawled on the ground.

Lu Jingning wiped his face with a towel when he suddenly felt a gentle tap on his shoulder. Turning around, he saw Wen Xingchen handing him a bottle of water. “You’ve worked hard, Brother Wen.”

Jian Luan, noticing this, grumbled with a dry throat, “Why is there still water left? What about mine, what about mine?”

Lu Jingning’s tone was casual, “The convenience store isn’t far, you can still make it if you run.”

“Damn, so heartless!” Jian Luan got up from the ground and swiftly pounced on Wen Xingchen, “I won’t ask you! Our Brother Wen wouldn’t be as heartless as you! Come on, Wen Xingchen, my good buddy, let’s share the fortune!”

Wen Xingchen caught a glimpse of the approaching figure and subtly sidestepped, evading Jian Luan with ease. “Lu-ge already told you, go buy it yourself.”

Lu Jingning laughed heartily, “Jian Luan, why do you have to demean yourself?”

Jian Luan missed his target, and his cheerful expression instantly fell.

Indeed, why should he demean himself? He couldn’t figure it out himself…

Before Wen Xingchen could respond, he felt an arm resting on his shoulder.

Lu Jingning leaned half of his body on him, looking proud. “I don’t care how you feel; I care about how I feel. If you think he has changed, it’s only because you don’t know him well enough. In my eyes, Brother Wen has always been the same, never changed!”

Having just splashed himself with water, Lu Jingning’s arm still carried a faint coolness. When it touched Wen Xingchen’s neck, the subtle chill seemed to permeate his body without making a sound.

Wen Xingchen paused for a moment while drinking water, subtly reacting to the situation.

Even though Lu Jingning was laughing and joking with Jian Luan, his attention remained focused on Wen Xingchen. In that moment, he observed every change in Wen Xingchen’s expression.

Though he maintained a calm exterior, Wen Xingchen’s heart felt a wave of pleasure.

Rule #3 of the Alpha chasing strategy: Appropriate skin contact can bridge the distance between two people, and such non-verbal cues often have a subtle and imperceptible effect on an Alpha’s mind. However, one should also exercise caution not to be too aggressive. The contact should be brief, no longer than one minute each time. Only then can it create a sense of longing and irresistible attraction in the Alpha, without them even realizing it.

Lu Jingning felt a sense of admiration for his accurate execution of the strategy.

Keeping in mind the one-minute rule, after a moment, he calmly retracted his hand.

Rule #4 of the A-chasing strategy: All Alphas appreciate praise from Omegas, and such praise must be genuine and abundant. The illusion of deeply admiring them is essential to create a sense of gratification during interactions.

So, without waiting for Jian Luan’s retort, Lu Jingning continued speaking eloquently, “Jian Luan, if I were you, I would head straight to the convenience store right now.”

“After all, in the presence of such an outstanding Alpha like Wen Xingchen, your existence appears minuscule. Even if you feel resentful, it won’t change the fact that you’re just ordinary. If you want to move forward, don’t waste any opportunity that can help you progress.”

“Do you think Wen Xingchen only wanted you to buy him water? No, his vision extends much further than that. What he wants is for you to strengthen yourself during the process of buying water.”

Jian Luan blinked in bewilderment, “Ah?”

Lu Jingning’s eyes narrowed slightly as he disdainfully glanced at this overly insignificant mortal. “Don’t you get it? It’s all about perspective! This is the biggest gap between you and top Alphas like Wen Xingchen. Can’t you deeply appreciate Wen Xingchen’s efforts, Jian Luan?”

Jian Luan couldn’t bear to hear more and his lips twitched, “Enough! I’ll go buy it myself!”

Seeing Jian Luan walk away, Wen Xingchen finally couldn’t hold back his laughter. His narrow eyes curved, displaying a different kind of radiance. “I never knew my words had such profound meaning. How come even I didn’t realize it?”

Lu Jingning smiled along as he noticed Wen Xingchen’s happiness. Despite being a novice in delivering sweet talk, he seemed to have a natural flair for it. “It’s because all of this is deeply ingrained in your heart. It feels so natural that even you can’t detect it.”

Wen Xingchen chuckled, “If you keep talking, I might actually believe you.”

Lu Jingning remained composed, “It’s an established fact, no need for proof.”

Wen Xingchen thought that Lu Jingning rejected him because he still had some extraordinary tricks up his sleeve. So, he temporarily suppressed his impulses and patiently waited.

However, over the next week, instead of the anticipated surprises, Lu Jingning’s presence became scarce, and Wen Xingchen rarely saw him after classes.

Finally, when the bell rang, Lu Jingning immediately picked up his bag, ready to rush out the door. Wen Xingchen couldn’t help but grab his arm, asking, “You always seem to be in a hurry lately. What are you so busy with?”

Lu Jingning did not sense the trace of bitterness in his tone. He blinked, as if just remembering something, “Oh, right, I forgot to tell you. Our Mecha Club is going to have an exchange event soon. I’ve been doing the final adjustments on the mecha with Yan Hebin recently! We’ll represent the club in the exchange, and I can’t let my roommate lose face.”

Wen Xingchen: “…”

Despite brewing several words, it seemed as if saying anything more would come off as a bit meddlesome.

Seeing Wen Xingchen’s lack of response, Lu Jingning called out in confusion, “Wen-ge?”

Wen Xingchen seemed to snap back to his senses and let go of Lu Jingning’s hand. “Go ahead.”

“Alright then, I’m off!” Lu Jingning’s figure disappeared at the door in an instant.

Wen Xingchen sat in his place for a while, silently took out his terminal, and based on his memory, searched for a certain post.

Line by line, he scrolled down, and finally, his gaze halted at the last part of the content.

Rule #5 of Chasing Alphas: Omega pursuing Alphas must firmly remember the following content after following the first four rules. Regardless of how smoothly or not the pursuit progresses, never let the other party have it too easy! As humans, we inevitably possess certain flaws, and Alphas’ attitudes are often peculiar. Sometimes, the easier they get something, the less they cherish it afterward. Therefore, when they start to have even a hint of an idea, you must pull back in time, maintain a distance, and keep them hanging, making them feel a sense of urgency. Only by doing so can you better stimulate the Alpha’s conqueror’s desire, making him unable to give up on you completely.

Wen Xingchen: “…”

At that moment, Jian Luan happened to pass by, seeing Wen Xingchen still not leaving after class, and curiously walked over.

When Jian Luan’s eyes glanced over the post on the StarNet page, his expression subtly changed. After hesitating for a moment, he still spoke softly, “Wen Xingchen, well… if you need anything, just ask me directly. It would be much more convenient than searching for these things.”

Wen Xingchen looked up at him expressionlessly, his Alpha aura slightly oppressing. But after a moment’s thought, he said, “Ask you?”

Jian Luan, feeling the pressure from Wen Xingchen’s gaze, couldn’t help but want to retreat. But before leaving, he hurriedly reminded him with a quick few words, “One last thing, just one thing! Uh, you got it wrong! This article teaches Omegas to chase Alphas. I also have another one that teaches Alphas to pursue Omegas. The link is right next to it, and that one might be more suitable for you!”

After saying that, before waiting for Wen Xingchen to react, Jian Luan swiftly made his escape.

While running, Jian Luan couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional in his heart.

Sigh, being a relationship consultant these days is really not easy!

Even as a columnist for the feelings section, seeing Wen Xingchen in this situation, he didn’t know where to help him from.

Really, it’s just too difficult.

Chapter 58 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 58

In the afternoon, during the theory class, there was an in-class exam. As expected, Lu Jingning found that he didn’t recognize any of the questions. Fortunately, Wen Xingchen was there to help, and they managed to fill in the exam paper.

As for the results, it was not something he needed to worry about. As long as he passed, he would be satisfied. Having settled the matter at hand, he left the classroom feeling refreshed and arranged to meet Wen Xingchen at the school gate.

When Jian Luan passed by, he overheard their conversation and curiously approached them, “What? Are you guys going out to eat? When? Why didn’t you take me along?”

Before Lu Jingning could even say “get lost,” Wen Xingchen calmly curved his lips and said, “Take you along? Hasn’t that girl you were trying to flirt with been waiting for you near the school gate recently?”

Jian Luan’s neck immediately shrank, “You guys go, you guys go! My life is more important!”

Lu Jingning couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing this. Suddenly, he became curious and asked, “How are you so good at pursuing Omegas? Do you have any secrets?”

Jian Luan, with an imposing manner, began to elaborate, “It’s a complex art! First of all, you need to…”

Before he could finish, Wen Xingchen raised his leg and kicked him without hesitation. “Look, who’s coming?”

Jian Luan looked up and was taken aback by the imposing figure approaching. He immediately turned and ran, calling out as he fled, “Lu Bro, I’ll teach you some other time!”

Wen Xingchen didn’t even lift an eyelid. “Another time? Ha, can’t let you corrupt the youngsters.”

Though Lu Jingning felt somewhat regretful that Jian Luan ran off like that, there was nothing he could do but head back to his dormitory.

Before leaving, he reminded Wen Xingchen, “We agreed on a time, don’t be late.”

Wen Xingchen replied, “I won’t.”

With that assurance, Lu Jingning felt at ease.

Back in his dormitory, he leisurely took out the collection of tips he had found earlier. Today marked the first step in pursuing Wen Xingchen, and the outcome depended on what he did next.

Having already made a selection, Lu Jingning chose a post that seemed to be highly regarded based on the feedback from various netizens on Star Network. The comments were mostly as follows:

– “Thanks to the poster, I finally got together with my sweetheart!”

– “The poster is amazing! I followed the tips, and they really work!”

– “We registered our marriage on the day of the confession. It’s true!”

– “Confirmed through eye contact, this is the post I needed!”

After thoroughly verifying numerous five-star reviews, Lu Jingning finally felt confident as he focused his attention on the first item in the collection of tips:

“To all the wonderful Omegas, please never believe any Alpha who only speaks of loving your inner qualities. The first impression all Alphas have when selecting a partner is based on visual impact. A beautiful Omega that appeals to their aesthetic preferences will undoubtedly capture their hearts more easily. So, before pursuing an Alpha, you must improve your appearance. Naturally, natural looks are important, but grooming and attire are also essential. Please display your best appearance in front of him, especially during your dates.”

After reading it, Lu Jingning pondered for a moment and silently turned and walked into the bathroom.

When Yan Hebin returned from class, he was surprised to see someone standing in front of the mirror. He couldn’t help but show a rare expression of astonishment, “What are you…”

Lu Jingning adjusted his splendid outfit and turned to him, flashing a bright smile, “Yan Hebin, you’ve come back at just the right time. Tell me, how do I look in this outfit?”

Yan Hebin remained silent for a moment before commenting, “Quite distinctive.”

Lu Jingning took this comment as approval and left feeling satisfied. Before leaving, he playfully blew a kiss and said, “I’ve made plans with someone today, so don’t wait for me for dinner.”

“…”

Yan Hebin watched quietly as the dormitory door closed, and after a while, he belatedly tugged at the corner of his mouth.

Was this flamboyant attire only for dinner or to seduce someone?

After school, the temporary campus gate was bustling with people. Over time, everyone seemed to have gradually emerged from the shadow of the pirate attack.

From afar, a tall figure stood at the station outside the school gate. Wen Xingchen wore a loose black jacket, hands in his pockets, leaning against the billboard.

Even with such a relatively still posture, he still caught the attention of passersby, causing them to occasionally stop and take a second look. A few Omegas even blushed as they approached him to strike up a conversation, only to be met with indifference and shyly run away, their faces even redder.

Just as Lu Jingning arrived, he witnessed this scene. Raising an eyebrow, he walked over.

When it came to drawing attention, he was no less impressive than Wen Xingchen. With today’s eye-catching outfit, he was like the brightest star in the night sky, gathering all the attention as he walked from the dormitory to the school gate.

At this point, there were at least twenty pairs of eyes fixed on Wen Xingchen. He looked up and unexpectedly found a flamboyant peac0ck strutting confidently towards him.

Wen Xingchen: “…………”

Lu Jingning had intended to tease this attention-seeking guy when he saw him looking somewhat stunned. He felt even more satisfied with the collection of tips he had collected and smiled playfully, asking, “What’s wrong? Do I look that good?”

Wen Xingchen: “You do look good, but…”

After hesitating for a while, he seemed unable to find the right words and finally asked, “Are you really planning to go to dinner like this?”

Lu Jingning: “What do you think? Surprised?”

Wen Xingchen’s gaze traveled up and down Lu Jingning’s outfit. “It’s definitely surprising.”

Lu Jingning wore a white-based fashionable suit that seemed to be meticulously tailored to enhance his charm. The pink ribbon at the collar added a touch of playfulness. Intricate gold lace adorned the outfit with scattered gemstones, exuding a sense of trendy fashion. It was more like a costume for a palace performance on stage than formal attire for a dinner party, attracting all the attention.

If he were to walk into a restaurant like this, he’d probably be mistaken for an entertainer.

He wasn’t sure where Lu Jingning had found such an eye-catching outfit, but it had an inexplicable appropriateness.

It was as if they had magnified his most dazzling side to the extreme, crowned by a small round hat adorned with colorful feathers, fully showcasing his brilliance.

Despite considering himself composed, Wen Xingchen couldn’t help but be drawn in by the sight. Not to mention others who were also stopping and staring at Lu Jingning.

Normally, Wen Xingchen wouldn’t mind the attention focused on him, but he noticed the occasional glances directed at Lu Jingning, which made his brow slightly furrow.

Before Lu Jingning could speak again, Wen Xingchen had already taken off his own coat and dr4p3d it over the oblivious Lu Jingning. He made sure to zip it up securely.

It was as if he wanted to use this solid black coat to conceal all the dazzling aspects of Lu Jingning from everyone’s sight, leaving only himself to witness.

Lu Jingning: “???”

Wen Xingchen paid no attention to his questioning gaze and said nonchalantly, “Let’s go, time for dinner.”

While they were seated at the restaurant, Lu Jingning couldn’t help glancing at the all-black coat he was now wearing, and he fell into contemplation.

Weren’t you amazed just now? Why cover him up like this? Could it be that these strategies don’t work on Wen Xingchen?

Feeling doubtful, he quickly browsed through the tips once again while Wen Xingchen was ordering.

Rule #2 for pursuing an Alpha: Be gentle and delicate, maximize the advantages of being an Omega, and never use foul language or anything of that sort. Always present yourself as a charming, lovable, and irresistibly cute little sweetheart.

Lu Jingning: “……”

To be honest, this rule was a bit challenging for him.

Just as he was contemplating and preparing his approach, he suddenly heard Wen Xingchen asking, “I’ve already ordered a few dishes. Take a look and see if you want to add something.”

Lu Jingning looked at the menu, and the dishes Wen Xingchen had chosen were almost exactly what he liked. There was nothing left to add. He said, “Then let’s have some c0cktails. I heard the c0cktails here are excellent.”

Wen Xingchen didn’t even hesitate and outright refused, “No.”

Lu Jingning frowned, “Why not? Even Yu Qingcang recommended this place, saying the c0cktails are fantastic.”

Wen Xingchen: “Do you want me to list all the heroic acts you’ve done after drinking alcohol?”

Lu Jingning: “……”

He didn’t need a list to know how mischievous and provoking he could become after getting drunk, not to mention constantly tempting someone to commit crimes.

Let’s not even talk about that; he was still trying to make up for the last mistake he had just made.

However, even though he knew all the reasons, he couldn’t help but struggle a little, “I promise, I won’t drink much today.”

Wen Xingchen: “No.”

Lu Jingning: “I fuc–“

He stopped halfway through his sentence, suddenly recalling Rule #2. He held back the profanity and took a deep breath.

Seeing Lu Jingning’s abrupt silence, Wen Xingchen looked at him curiously, wondering what he was up to. But what he saw was Lu Jingning wearing the warmest, most tender smile he had ever seen.

In this momentous change of attitude, even Wen Xingchen, with all his calculations, couldn’t help but be slightly stunned.

In the next second, Lu Jingning reached out and held onto Wen Xingchen’s collar, his voice low and soft, “Wen-ge[/mfn]A coquettish way to call someone.[/mfn], I’ll just order one glass.”

Wen Xingchen: “……”

Seeing Lu Jingning’s entire demeanor change, Wen Xingchen was almost rendered speechless. For a moment, he almost gave in to him entirely. He felt like as long as this person called him “Wen-ge” softly, he would be willing to give him anything, go all out, without considering any consequences.

Chapter 57 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 57

The lightweight warship for the return journey had been waiting at the entrance of Heavy Cloud Gate. When Lu Jingning and the others appeared, Cen Junfeng remained calm, seemingly unfazed by Wen Xingchen’s one-night absence.

It was said that the joint gathering between the two schools turned into a melee involving four schools. As a direct result, almost everyone was carried out horizontally from the private rooms. The scene was quite spectacular.

However, Lu Jingning paid no attention to all of that. His only concern was, “What about Tang Jiaze? Did you guys take him down?”

“It wasn’t necessary. You didn’t see it, but Bing Yunlin single-handedly took care of him,” Kang Hanyun chuckled. “Tang Jiaze acted all arrogant, but he couldn’t hold his alcohol at all. Before it ended, he had already run to the restroom to vomit three or four times. Tsk tsk, despite looking like he was about to die from puking, he insisted on showing off, a typical case of valuing face over life.”

Upon hearing that Tang Jiaze had ultimately been defeated, Lu Jingning felt satisfied. He picked up his luggage and boarded the warship.

Glancing inside, although there were still empty seats, he unhesitatingly sat down next to Wen Xingchen. Cen Junfeng, who had just arrived, witnessed this scene. His eyelids twitched, and he walked past them without looking, finding a separate seat to sit down.

The first rule of survival was not to provoke others unnecessarily.

Lu Jingning had been exhausted from last night’s turmoil, and he fell asleep almost immediately after departing.

Wen Xingchen had been gazing out the window, but suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder. The person beside him had already fallen asleep, resting his head on Wen Xingchen’s shoulder.

His eyes glanced at Lu Jingning’s attractive side profile, and he discreetly adjusted his posture to sit more upright.

By the time they reached the temporary campus of the Imperial Navy University, it was already evening. Feeling the ship’s movement, Lu Jingning drowsily opened his eyes, seeing people bustling around. He stretched lazily and asked, “Ah, we’re here?”

Wen Xingchen stood up, feeling his arm go numb. After a simple stretch, he had to use the other hand to carry his luggage. He looked at Lu Jingning with a half-smile and half-jokingly said, “Wipe off your drool.”

Lu Jingning blinked before realizing what he meant. Reflexively, he rubbed the corners of his mouth with force. “Where’s the drool?”

“That’s because you already wiped it all away,” Wen Xingchen chuckled lightly. “See my coat? It’s your masterpiece.”

Lu Jingning maintained his usual stubbornness and replied, “Do you still remember the reward I gave you? Congratulations, now you can fully enjoy it.”

Wen Xingchen said, “Thank you very much.”

The light warship docked at the entrance of the temporary campus, and the members of the exchange team saw a grand formation waiting at the gate, led by Headmaster Cang and accompanied by teachers and students. As they approached, they all cheered in unison, “Congratulations on the triumphant return of the Imperial Navy University’s exchange team!”

By now, detailed reports on the military academy exchange competition had been circulating widely, and videos of various matches were all over the star network. Undoubtedly, the Imperial Navy University’s exchange team had been the most dazzling presence this year, gaining the spotlight, and, of course, this would not have been possible without the contributions of two new students.

Lu Jingning led the exchange team members in polite exchanges with the welcoming group. Headmaster Cang stood at the forefront and, upon seeing Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen, couldn’t help but show an appreciative look, “Impressive, impressive!”

“It’s only natural,” Lu Jingning smiled as always, not the least bit modest. After shaking hands, he moved on to the next person, going through the process one by one.

As the welcoming ceremony came to an end, someone suddenly rushed out from the crowd, shouting, “Brother Lu, you’re amazing!”

Lu Jingning wasn’t surprised that Yu Qingcang came to greet him. However, he glanced at Yan Hebin, who stood not far away, and couldn’t help but lower his voice and ask, “What’s the situation now? It’s only been a few days, and you’ve already conquered my good roommate?”

“How is that possible!” Yu Qingcang was touched that Lu Jingning was the first to inquire about his love life. However, he looked toward Yan Hebin and sighed, “How could someone like Yan Hebin, who’s uninterested in worldly affairs, be so easy to pursue? I used you as an excuse to talk to him several times, but each time our exchanges lasted no more than five minutes. These past few days, I don’t know what he’s been busy with. He’s elusive like a dragon; today, I’m fortunate to have come to pick you up; otherwise, I doubt he’d take a single step out of the dormitory.”

“Thanks for your hard work. I should’ve guessed it.” Lu Jingning, having heard Yu Qingcang’s explanation, abandoned the idea of seeking advice on how to pursue someone. With that, he had nothing more to say. “I’m a bit tired; I’ll go back now. Let’s catch up another day!”

Yu Qingcang muttered, “…Damn.”

Not far away, Jian Luan was also welcoming Wen Xingchen. Lu Jingning glanced at him but quickly looked away. He bid farewell to Yu Qingcang and walked back to the dormitory with Yan Hebin.

Once they returned to their dormitory, Lu Jingning finally understood what Yan Hebin had been up to during his recent seclusion.

It was the first time Lu Jingning had seen such intricately detailed physical mecha models, let alone ones in human size.

At that moment, even the fatigue of the journey was forgotten, and Lu Jingning couldn’t help but walk around the new mecha model several times in awe. He curiously asked, “Did you make this?”

Yan Hebin nodded, “Yes. In a few days, you can join me in the virtual cabin to try out my new mecha and see if there are any adjustments needed.”

“Awesome!” Lu Jingning exclaimed again, looking at Yan Hebin with admiration. “No need to try it; just looking at the completeness of this model, if I didn’t know you, I’d think it was a creation from the Mecha Research Institute. Yan Hebin, are you really just a freshman? With this level of skill, if you were to apply, you could probably become a reserve engineer at the institute.”

One would think that a passionate mecha enthusiast like Yan Hebin would have a strong interest in the Mecha Research Institute. However, instead of being pleased by Lu Jingning’s generous praise, there was no joy on his face. In fact, it seemed as if he hadn’t even heard what Lu Jingning said. In a detached tone, he reminded, “Make some time in the coming days. The Vice President said there will be a university mecha exchange event next month, and he wants us to go together.”

Lu Jingning was puzzled, “Why should we go?”

Yan Hebin replied, “Because the mecha I designed is the best in the club. As for you, well, experience it for yourself.”

“Then, I guess it’s because my strength makes the other club members feel inferior,” Lu Jingning remarked.

“Sure, let’s go with that. As long as you’re happy,” Yan Hebin said.

Lu Jingning thought to himself that he should never boast about anything in front of Yan Hebin. It would only lead to being shut down immediately without any sense of achievement.

Lu Jingning was already famous at the Imperial Navy University, and after this exchange competition, his popularity increased exponentially through various star network media reports. As he walked through the classroom door, he heard Jian Luan call out from a distance, “Look, our Imperial Naval Double Stars have arrived!”

Lu Jingning listened to the crowd’s playful laughter and, after approaching, couldn’t help but ask somewhat speechlessly, “Why are we called the Imperial Navy’s Double Stars?”

Jian Luan handed him a report with an expression that said, “I didn’t make this up.” “This is what the whole star network calls you. We should follow the trend, right?”

Lu Jingning looked at the headline in the report, and his lips pursed tightly. What happened to being called the “Imperial Navy’s Twin Champions”? How did it become “Double Stars”? It made him and Wen Xingchen sound like two jinxes, bringing bad luck wherever they went.

Seeing his speechless expression, Jian Luan laughed and teased, “What’s wrong, Lu Jingning? Don’t like this nickname? I think it’s quite fitting. With the word ‘Stars,’ it perfectly expresses your hobby of causing trouble everywhere. Hahaha!”

Halfway through his laughter, he noticed that Lu Jingning was squinting threateningly. Wisely, Jian Luan cleared his throat and said, “As a person involved, you should find this nickname quite suitable, right, Wen Xingchen?”

Wen Xingchen had been sitting in his chair, observing the banter between the two. He calmly responded, “It’s not bad. Especially the word ‘Double,’ it’s very accurate.”

Lu Jingning felt like he was watching a skit with the way they played off each other. He was about to retort, but when he looked at Wen Xingchen, the words he wanted to say suddenly choked in his throat.

Remembering the mission he was carrying, he forcibly suppressed the urge to burst out and put on a humble front. Taking advantage of this opportunity, he took his focus off the virtual screen at the terminal and said, “Actually, I’m quite studious too. It’s just that the theoretical classes are not very friendly to me. How about this? After helping you with the exams, let me treat you to a meal?”

Wen Xingchen glanced at the terminal, discreetly hidden under the table. He went with the flow, “Sure.”

Although he tried to hide it, with his keen eyesight, Wen Xingchen clearly saw the enormous title in the search bar of the virtual screen: “Top Ten Techniques You Must Know to Woo Someone, Mastered in Seconds!”

Hmm, Lu Jingning seems like quite the diligent learner.

Chapter 56 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 56

On the planet in the Eighth Galaxy, the temperature difference between day and night seemed quite significant. As they left the entertainment venue, a cold wind blew into their necks, causing Lu Jingning to shiver involuntarily. Wen Xingchen, who carried the scent of stardust on his shoulders, subconsciously shrank his body and asked, “Are you cold?”

Lu Jingning, half-dazed, lowered his head and shook it, saying, “Real men are never afraid of the cold.”

Wen Xingchen couldn’t help but be amused by Lu Jingning’s drunken attempt to act tough, “Well, you’re not cold.”

With that, Wen Xingchen’s arm around Lu Jingning’s waist tightened slightly, and seeing Lu Jingning’s faintly furrowed brow, he chuckled mysteriously, “I’m cold.”

Lu Jingning squinted at him for a long time, as if he had finally grasped the meaning behind his words. Suddenly, he reached out and wrapped his arms around Wen Xingchen’s neck, saying, “Then I’ll keep you warm.”

In that moment, Wen Xingchen sensed the pheromones emanating from Lu Jingning, faintly wafting into the air, causing his body to tense involuntarily. A barely perceptible feeling seemed to intensify, as his sensitive period had not entirely passed, making his reaction to Omega pheromones much stronger.

The subtle fragrance of Lu Jingning’s light plum jam seemed to hold a unique attraction, as if it were enticing a hidden flame within Wen Xingchen’s composed exterior, which could erupt at any moment.

However, the man hanging on him seemed to have no awareness of this or was already uncontrollably drawn to Wen Xingchen by his Alpha pheromones. Lu Jingning continued to nuzzle against him.

Wen Xingchen could hear the sound of someone swallowing saliva beside his ear, “Lu Jingning, you smell so good… Yes, much better than those other Omegas.”

Under Lu Jingning’s constant movements, Wen Xingchen found it challenging to take another step forward. Unable to bear it any longer, he finally pulled the man back and warned, “I’m taking you back now, and if you keep messing around, I’ll leave you by the roadside.”

Lu Jingning looked at the empty streetlights beside him for a moment, seemingly lost in thought. Eventually, he made a wise decision, docilely lying on Wen Xingchen’s shoulder and remaining still.

Relieved, Wen Xingchen sighed and continued to walk towards the resting area, dragging the pretending-to-be-dead Lu Jingning along.

After a while, he couldn’t resist laughing, “I really should record your current state and show it to you when you wake up tomorrow.”

Lu Jingning muttered a couple of times, whether in agreement or protest, Wen Xingchen couldn’t tell.

Back in their room, Wen Xingchen threw Lu Jingning onto the bed, where he sat motionless, still in a state of daze. The room was a mess, reflecting the wild and wanton night they had spent.

Lu Jingning was confident in his self-control and usually didn’t use suppressants for pheromones. Due to the alcohol, his pheromones were now slightly leaking, even showing signs of growing stronger.

Wen Xingchen, on the other hand, had good self-control, but he was still an Alpha in his sensitive period. In such a time, even going overboard was normal.

The journey back had already been torturous, and at any second, Wen Xingchen could have taken Lu Jingning right then and there. He couldn’t afford to relax too much, so he grabbed his coat and hung it over his arm, saying, “Rest early, I’ll leave now.”

Lu Jingning remained silent.

Thinking he had agreed, Wen Xingchen took a step forward, but suddenly heard Lu Jingning’s voice behind him, “Wen-ge.”

Before Wen Xingchen could turn around, Lu Jingning, who had been sitting on the bed, somehow appeared behind him. He immediately wrapped his arms tightly around Wen Xingchen’s neck from the back, and boldly nuzzled against the gland area, saying, “Wen-ge, about what you said tonight… is it true?”

Wen Xingchen’s thoughts paused for a moment, “What did I say?”

Lu Jingning smiled and licked his lips, “You said you wanted me to come and… woo you.”

Wen Xingchen: “…”

“With so many delicious-smelling Omegas around, you won’t let me touch them. And other Alphas don’t smell good, so after thinking about it, it seems I can only woo you. You smell so good, much better than the others. I just love this scent…”

Lu Jingning continued mumbling as if to prove that he was speaking the truth. He boldly licked the gland area, “So, I’m really going to woo you. How about it?”

Wen Xingchen felt a slight electric sensation spread all over his body. The hidden fire inside him was completely aroused, and his breathing unavoidably became heavy.

This was already a dangerous edge. Yet, Lu Jingning remained completely oblivious, seemingly also influenced by the thick pheromones on the gland area, and without warning, he gently tasted it.

Under this provocation, Wen Xingchen lost all control. His Alpha pheromones erupted, mingling with Lu Jingning’s Omega pheromones, in a tender and lingering dance.

When they finally broke the kiss, Lu Jingning looked very pleased and raised an eyebrow, “How was that for wooing?”

At some point, Wen Xingchen felt his sanity slipping away, bit by bit.

He was already very sensitive during his estrus period and although he had shown good restraint the previous night, it didn’t mean that he had entirely passed the safe period. Under Lu Jingning’s fearless teasing, it seemed like his temporary composure had collapsed all at once.

Surrounded by pheromones, his Alpha instincts caused his strong possessive and predatory urges to grow to the extreme, and it was inevitable that he now stood on the edge of a precipice of losing control.

Wen Xingchen’s throat was a little tight. Although he knew that he should stay away as soon as possible, the pressure that had been fully accumulated till now made him unable to move at all.

It was completely different from last night’s scene. Lu Jingning’s rare initiative was like a poison with a fatal temptation. Under the influence of the pheromones in his body, he still lost to his Alpha instincts during this susceptible period. The desire has been increased several times.

When Wen Xingchen spoke, his voice was a little hoarse, like a wolf with a big tail abducting some small animal: “It seems that there is still a little insincerity.”

Lu Jingning thought for a while, then opened his collar, exposing his smooth neck. His glands were displayed in front of Wen Xingchen: “Then, this is also for you.”

The moment Wen Xingchen lowered his head and kissed his glands, Lu Jingning murmured comfortably, his eyes blurred, revealing a faint smile: “Wen Xingchen, you are mine tonight… I want to embrace… no, I want to fvck you!”

The meaning in Wen Xingchen’s eyes was unclear: “Oh? Then try it.”

As if to prove his status, Lu Jingning suddenly flipped the other over and instantly switched their positions, pressing Wen Xingchen under him.

His gaze moved down a little, and it just happened to land on the other person’s chest. His clothes were slightly open, revealing a few gleams of sweat.

The lines on the Alpha’s body were smooth and powerful, causing the color of his eyes to darken slightly. Under the sudden stimulation of strong pheromones around him, he seemed to have become completely aroused and his body involuntarily wanted to get closer.

Wen Xingchen could see Lu Jingning’s exquisite face approaching him little by little. A hand suddenly stretched out and slid down his cheek little by little, caressing his skin lightly before unbuttoning his clothes.

His eyes swept over the lips that were close in front of him and his impulsive desire of the estrus period began to surge in his body.

Not controlling himself anymore, he leaned up slightly, and kissed those alluring lips fiercely.

Lu Jingning didn’t expect the other party to sneakily do this, a look of surprise flashed across his brows and he subconsciously backed away, but was firmly pressed back by the hand stretched out behind his back.

The touch of his lips is extremely soft, with a lingering taste of his pheromones.

Lu Jingning felt like he was falling for a moment. His Omega’s instinct combined with the effect of alcohol made him become distraught and turned him greedy. He couldn’t wait to pry Wen Xingchen’s lips and teeth open, the tip of his tongue wanton in his moist mouth.

Wen Xingchen was stunned for a moment by his initiatives and gradually indulged in this intoxicating rhythm. He only felt that Lu Jingning’s intoxication seemed to have infected him, and all his inhibitions collapsed.

Before he knew it, Lu Jingning’s entire body was already on Wen Xingchen’s body, holding the back of his neck, entangled with the tip of his tongue.

An Alpha’s scent will always be fatally attractive to an Omega, not to mention the smell of menthol that’s too inviting, making him extremely content.

During their entanglement, the clothes were also stripped off.

Wen Xingchen’s eyes were slightly darkened under the intense desire, and his broad hands slid down, reaching the other’s wet private parts before tentatively prodding it slightly.

Lu Jingning subconsciously clamped his legs together, but because of the excessive pleasure, he murmured softly.

Wen Xingchen licked his lips lightly, with an ambiguous tone: “Don’t you want it?”

Lu Jingning could feel his slender fingers twitching and inserting inside him gently and almost subconsciously lay on Wen Xingchen’s body, moaning twice: “Mmm… Hurry up.”

Wen Xingchen looked at his face that seemed to be immersed in desire. It was so beautiful. His Adam’s apple bobbled twice uncontrollably: “Listen to yourself.”

He put his arms around Lu Jingning’s waist and laid him down on the bed.

Under the strong desire of his body, Wen Xingchen’s voice was already hot as if he was about to burn. His excessive sensitivity of his estrus period stimulated his nerves from time to time as he penetrated the soft hole.

Lu Jingning’s throat couldn’t help but let out a sweet and low-pitched moan, and under the impact again and again, the excessive pleasure made his waist move on its own, as if to cater to him.

The bodies of the two were intertwined, indulging in their respective desires.

Alphas in the estrus period already had extraordinarily strong desires. Under such a fierce collision, Lu Jingning almost completely fell into the burning desire, and had nowhere to escape.

The whole room is filled with the smell of pheromones intertwining.

Wen Xingchen kept looking down at the expression on Lu Jingning’s face, especially the slightl frown on Lu Jingning’s face every time he hit a sensitive spot, which made him want to stop.

Under wave after wave of pleasure, Lu Jingning felt as if he was completely swept away and unconsciously wrapped his hands around Wen Xingchen’s back. He stroked his back vigorously.

To suppress his extreme emotions, Wen Xingchen leaned down and kissed his lips while moving inside him. After a while, he received an increasingly fierce response from the other party.

The more this happened, the desire in his body seemed to burn even more vigorously.

Unknowingly, the naked bodies of the two were already covered with a thin layer of dense sweat, and their complexions were strangely red under the intense kiss.

“Hmm… ah…”

Lu Jingning’s hoarse murmur passed by his ears, causing Wen Xingchen to knead every piece of his skin with both hands, until his body was completely limp on the bed. The surrounding bedding was a mess.

He stretched out his hand to pick up that waist, kissed lightly along the neck bit by bit, and finally, he took a bite on his gland.

The movement of his lower body continued, and the sudden intrusion made Lu Jingning tremble as though he received an electric shock. All his desire and pleasure seemed to reach the maximum in this instant.

The overly aggressive pheromones during the Alpha’s estrus period and the sweet and sour scent of the Omega blended together, forming a unique ambiguous smell.

Lu Jingning felt that he was lost in such pleasure and his whole body almost melted into the Alpha’s broad embrace. In the end, he even pushed Wen Xingchen onto the bed again, and sat on him with his legs spread out.

Wen Xingchen watched Omega’s flamboyant yet lustful face rising and falling on his body, unable to take his eyes off for a moment.

Such stubbornness seemed to carry a taste of unwillingness to be outdone, but on the contrary, it carried a different kind of sexy.

The sound of groans and gasps lingered in the air, as their hearts beat faster and faster before their pleasure was pushed to the highest extreme.

Wen Xingchen could feel a hot current gushing out of his body at this moment, like he could explode any moment now.

He hugged Lu Jingning’s waist forcefully, and thrusted up heavily.

Lu Jingning seemed to be aware of something vaguely and some haziness finally flashed between his eyes, only to feel that his body was suddenly completely swept by a wave of warmth. After being filled, an incomparable sense of stimulation and fullness made him convulse uncontrollably. He then collapsed after the excruciating pleasure.

Wen Xingchen, exhausted after the orga-m, gently hugged him into his arms.

Sensing Lu Jingning’s gaze, he slightly smiled: “Don’t worry, I didn’t ejaculate into your uterus.”

If it doesn’t enter the uterus, it means there is no knot.

Hearing this, Lu Jingning seemed to be completely relieved. He rubbed against Wen Xingchen and deepened his embrace very naturally.

He was so tired and wanted to sleep.

The next day…

Lu Jingning sat on the bed, feeling sore and aching as he looked at Wen Xingchen, who was already neatly dressed beside him. Although he had drunk quite a lot last night, some scattered fragments of memories still remained in his mind. At least, he remembered telling Wen Xingchen that he wanted to top him, but the reality upon waking up was that he seemed to be the one who got topped instead.

Lu Jingning felt a bit embarrassed, and his expression unavoidably became solemn. Of course, if he thought further, that wasn’t the point. The main issue was that he went wild while drunk and teased an Alpha who was still in their estrus period. He had actually slept with him again.

What’s the difference between that and taking advantage of an Omega during their heat?

No matter how he looked at it, he felt like a beast!

Lu Jingning prided himself on being straightforward and honest in his actions, so his facial expression was quite changeable at the moment. If Wen Xingchen’s previous assistance had reasons behind it, this time, Lu Jingning had genuinely taken advantage of him.

If this got out, wouldn’t he be no different from a deceptive scumbag?

Wen Xingchen finished dressing and turned around, witnessing Lu Jingning’s fascinating display of changing emotions. He couldn’t help but watch with interest for a while.

Finally, Lu Jingning seemed to calm down and looked up at him, saying with utmost seriousness, “Lao Wen, about what happened yesterday…”

After a moment’s pause, he continued, “I will take responsibility for what happened yesterday!”

Wen Xingchen raised an eyebrow, seemingly not expecting much, “Oh?”

This time, Lu Jingning seemed to have thought it through thoroughly, “I know you don’t like me in that way, and maybe you don’t want me to continue pursuing you. But I believe I have an obligation for what happened yesterday. So, from now on, I’ll earnestly pursue you.”

As if afraid of being interrupted, he quickly added, “Don’t rush to reject me just yet. This is what I’m thinking. If I pursue you, it’s also a way to make up for what happened. It’ll give us some time to get to know each other, and I don’t expect you to accept me right away. If, after some time, you still feel we’re not suitable, don’t be afraid to reject me. Trust me, I won’t let this matter become an obstacle between our friendship. In the end, we’ll still be good comrades fighting side by side, good brothers ready to face difficulties together! I, Lu Jingning, promise not to be any more intrusive than necessary!”

This time, Wen Xingchen was genuinely surprised and couldn’t help but laugh. He didn’t pay much attention to the latter part of what Lu Jingning said; his focus was solely on one point, “Are you sure you want to pursue me?”

“Of course!” Lu Jingning nodded, “So, from today, you’re my second male god!”

Wen Xingchen remained silent for a moment and eventually didn’t dwell on the ranking of “second.” He simply nodded and replied, “Alright, I’ll wait for you to pursue me.”

Lu Jingning felt a slight relief seeing that Wen Xingchen didn’t reject him outright. However, he couldn’t help but recall the scenes from last night, and his face flushed inexplicably.

He had drunk plenty of times before, but he had never behaved like this recently.

Was it because of the times he marked Wen Xingchen or simply because Wen Xingchen’s scent was too alluring?

Now, looking back, he realized that Wen Xingchen last night wasn’t exactly rational either, but how could anyone expect an Alpha in their estrus period to be rational?

He, on the other hand, took things too far and perhaps asked for too much.

Regardless, to make amends in this matter, he had to put his best effort into pursuing Wen Xingchen. Although it might not have a positive outcome in the end, he wanted Wen Xingchen to experience an unparalleled and supreme experience of being pursued by such an outstanding Omega.

After all, he, Lu Jingning, was pursuing someone for the first time in his life!

Just thinking about it made him feel a little excited!

Chapter 55 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 55

In the corner of the private room, it was crowded with people, and laughter resonated from there. Peering through the figures, one could see Wen Ye tilting his head back, downing a full glass of red wine. Under the influence of alcohol, he furrowed his brows slightly.

Standing a few steps away, Tang Jiaze looked down on him with a playful expression. “Oh, Wen Ye, you can really hold your liquor! Will you continue? Just don’t blame me if you drink yourself to death; I can’t bear that responsibility.”

Wen Ye used his fingertips to wipe away the wine stain from his lips, showing no sign of annoyance. His tone remained calm as he replied, “Continue.”

Seeing that Wen Ye maintained his indifferent demeanor, Tang Jiaze’s gaze turned slightly cold, and his mocking smile intensified. “You’re the one rushing to your own demise, don’t blame me for not stopping you.”

Kang Hanyun frowned upon hearing this and kicked the table heavily with her long legs. Her icy gaze showed her displeasure. “Enough talk, continue! Today, whoever gives in first is a loser!”

Tang Jiaze’s attitude amused him, and the other members of the Silver Star University’s team followed suit with boisterous shouts. Without warning, the corner of the entertainment venue turned into a battlefield between the two military academies.

The onlookers from Heavy Cloud Defense University and Grand War University wisely stayed on the sidelines without uttering a word.

Kang Hanyun provocatively asked Wen Ye in a low voice, “Captain, why not let me take over? A hero shouldn’t suffer in silence. What do you think?”

Wen Ye had indeed consumed quite a bit of alcohol from before until now, and the noisy atmosphere seemed to fuel his alcohol buzz. Despite this, he shook his head, “You’re a girl, drink less.”

Kang Hanyun retorted, “I might not necessarily lose, but you…”

Before she could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by a sudden arrival.

“The arrogant ones from Silver Star, I advise you not to be too c0cky! What’s so impressive about outnumbering us? Want a fight? Brother Lu is here to play with you!”

Lu Jingning, who had noticed the commotion when he looked up earlier, rushed over without hesitation.

Following behind him was Wen Xingchen, who appeared somewhat displeased, clearly reluctant to join in.

Tang Jiaze refilled his wine glass, almost amused by Lu Jingning’s arrival. “Always resorting to violence. Are you even an Omega?”

Lu Jingning sneered, “Heh, I’m just more Alpha than you. Jealous, are you?”

“…”

Tang Jiaze felt that his train of thought and Lu Jingning’s were not on the same level. He impatiently furrowed his brows, “So what? You want to defend your team captain? Sure, it seems there’s quite a camaraderie among you in Emperor Sea’s team!”

“Naturally,” Lu Jingning approached, and someone promptly pushed a chair over. He casually sat down in front of the table, slamming it hard with his hand. “Go ahead, Silver Star. What’s your plan? A brawl or one-on-one? It’s up to you. We’ll give you a chance to challenge us outside of the competition, although the result will be the same. Consider it satisfying your lingering obsession.”

Tang Jiaze gritted his teeth, “Who’s obsessed?”

Lu Jingning responded, “Whoever wants to bite is the one who’s obsessed.”

The already tense atmosphere suddenly became even more charged.

Kang Hanyun was momentarily stunned by this sudden change and couldn’t help but be amazed at Lu Jingning’s impeccable provocation skills. This guy was definitely capable of provoking anyone!

Tang Jiaze, perhaps influenced by the taunting, burst into a sinister laugh. “Alright then! Since Emperor Sea is so eager to throw themselves at us, don’t blame us for being merciless. Tonight, nobody from your team will leave through that door standing!”

Lu Jingning was pleased to hear the harsh words he wanted, and he arrogantly raised an eyebrow. “Tell me, how are we doing this?”

Tang Jiaze snatched something from a classmate nearby and slammed it heavily on the table. “We’re playing a game of ‘bigger or smaller’!”

“Okay, let’s continue…” Lu Jingning instinctively went along with his provocation, but then he paused and asked, “What do you mean by ‘bigger or smaller’?”

Tang Jiaze looked at him with a smirk. “It’s a game of chance. Your team captain has already lost several rounds. I reckon it’s about time for him to kneel. So, are you up next?”

Lu Jingning’s lips twitched as he was taken aback for a rare moment. He turned to Kang Hanyun with a speechless expression, quietly complaining, “Senior sister, why did you let the captain play ‘bigger or smaller’ with them…”

Considering Wen Ye’s non-conforming nature, why would he engage in such a game with others? It was no different from walking into a trap!

Under his scrutinizing gaze, Kang Hanyun couldn’t help feeling a little guilty and cleared her throat, “Don’t blame me; I only noticed it later.”

Lu Jingning fell into silence.

Who would have thought that they were about to start a brawl, but it turned out to be such a shocking revelation.

Tang Jiaze, feeling the tension between them, sneered, “Are you scared?”

If it weren’t for the fact that Tang Jiaze’s expression perfectly conveyed his mocking emotions, Lu Jingning would have suspected that this person was insulting his intelligence.

Lu Jingning rolled up his sleeves and filled an empty cup from the side. “Come on, let me show you that no matter the occasion, you’re still under my authority.”

Wen Ye furrowed his brow, about to say something, but Kang Hanyun intervened and pulled him back. “Captain, you should rest for a while. We have Lu Jingning here.”

The alcohol was starting to affect him, and he did feel a bit dizzy, so he didn’t say anything. He leaned heavily on the sofa, watching Lu Jingning and Tang Jiaze play on.

Unexpectedly, during the game, the luck favored the Silver Star University to an extraordinary degree. Tang Jiaze rolled a ‘Leopard’ in the first round, while Lu Jingning rolled three threes, and he downed the newly filled glass of red wine amid cheers.

In the second round, Tang Jiaze’s luck worsened a bit, rolling a ‘Five and two threes,’ which was not a significant number. However, when Lu Jingning finished rolling, he had a ‘straight one, two, and three,’ winning again.

Lu Jingning drank two consecutive cups, frowned displeasedly, and, seeing the arrogance of the Silver Star University’s group, stood up and stomped on the table. “Continue!”

In the third round, Lu Jingning managed to pull one back. But when it was Tang Jiaze’s turn to drink the cup, it seemed that his alcohol tolerance was surprisingly poor.

His drinking capacity was far less impressive than Lu Jingning’s.

Lu Jingning stood there unsteadily, but Tang Jiaze, who seemed on the verge of collapse, laughed happily. “Come on, continue! Let your Dad Lu play with you! I won’t spare you!”

Tang Jiaze’s eyes were somewhat unfocused, but with a strong will, he refused to back down.

With a forceful shake of his head, trying to clear his mind as much as possible, Tang Jiaze gritted his teeth, “Continue!”

“You can keep boasting!” Lu Jingning sneered, reaching for the dice cup. Unexpectedly, his vision blurred, and he missed grabbing it.

He frowned, annoyed, and squinted to aim again, preparing to reach for it. However, someone pulled him back with a strong tug, and he found himself falling into broad arms.

Wen Xingchen’s voice came from above, “Are you done playing? Can I have a turn?”

Lu Jingning’s hazy mind paused for a moment before he reacted. Looking up, he asked, “You want to play?”

Maybe due to the effect of alcohol, his eyes were somewhat hazy, as if shrouded in an indescribable mist, giving off a charm that couldn’t be put into words.

Taken aback by this gaze, Wen Xingchen’s lips curved slightly. “Mhm, I want to play.”

Hearing their conversation, Tang Jiaze mocked, “What’s this? Can’t handle it and need someone’s help?”

Lu Jingning’s thoughts were surprisingly clear at this moment. “How can this be considered getting help? It’s just a war between our two schools. Take a closer look; this is Wen Xingchen, my best comrade-in-arms fighting side by side with me.”

Tang Jiaze: “…Damn it!”

Wen Xingchen pushed Lu Jingning back into his seat, bent down slightly, and said to the person across from them, “If you want, you can switch players.”

Alpha’s hand was indeed larger than Omega’s, and it covered the dice cup entirely, as if embracing it within the palm. The slender fingers and distinct knuckles looked like exquisite pieces of craftsmanship.

Lu Jingning could feel Wen Xingchen’s breath gently brushing against his ear as he spoke. In this position, Lu Jingning felt enveloped in Wen Xingchen’s arms, much like the dice cup before him.

He couldn’t help but fixate on those beautiful fingers, and somehow, under the influence of alcohol’s faint mint and cigarette scent, he felt as if he was burning up, a warmth he couldn’t describe.

Seeing that Tang Jiaze was replaced by a new team member after a while, Lu Jingning suddenly remembered something. He pulled Wen Xingchen’s collar, lowering it slightly, and whispered, “Sensitivity period, no alcohol.”

His slightly hoarse voice carried an indescribable magnetic quality that turned what sounded like a commanding tone into something sensually ambiguous.

At such a close distance, a slight bow of the head would result in a direct kiss.

Wen Xingchen’s eyelashes drooped slightly, and he met the other’s gaze with what seemed like extra seriousness. He chuckled softly, “Got it. I’ll play a couple of rounds.”

As it turned out, Wen Xingchen indeed did as he said, playing a few rounds with just a sip of alcohol. He then pulled the seemingly unconscious Biang Yunlin into the game.

By this time, Lu Jingning had curled up in the chair, looking drunk and almost ready to fall asleep at any moment.

Wen Xingchen glanced at the time, casually dr4p3d his coat over the person, and reached out to scoop him into his arms. “You guys continue; I’ll take him back first.”

Tang Jiaze, who had rested for a while and regained some composure, wasn’t pleased with this. “You’re leaving before finishing? Where are you running off to?”

Lu Jingning, who was still hanging on Wen Xingchen, seemed provoked. He suddenly perked up, “Come on, continue! Are you afraid of your daddy Lu?”

Seeing that he was about to rush over again, Wen Xingchen raised his hand, pressing down on Lu Jingning’s head, and firmly put him back against his chest, patting him lightly. “Behave.”

Lu Jingning tried to struggle, but the alcohol made him feel weak all over. Angrily, he grunted a few times but finally succumbed to the alluring pheromones emanating from Wen Xingchen’s body, obediently calming down.

Wen Xingchen seemed satisfied with his cooperation and kindly reminded Tang Jiaze, “This guy likes to release pheromones when he’s drunk. Are you sure you want him to stay in this kind of situation?”

Tang Jiaze’s face momentarily froze, as if recalling some unpleasant memories. His expression stiffened.

Seeing his hesitation, Wen Xingchen offered him a way out, “As for me, you can consider me eliminated.”

Chapter 54 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 54

Heavy Cloud University’s Student Union hosted this gathering and invited all the exchange team members from various schools to come together for a social event outside the campus gates. The venue was a nearby entertainment venue, where they had booked a VIP private room with an area comparable to four or five regular large rooms, spacious enough to accommodate sixty to seventy people without feeling crowded.

After a relaxing shower in the dormitory, Lu Jingning set off leisurely, only to find that everyone else had rushed there urgently. He could understand the Alphas’ intense desire for Omegas; after all, who wouldn’t be fond of sweet-scented Omegas? But even Wen Xingchen was not in his room, which was quite unexpected. Lu Jingning couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, realizing that Alphas’ calm appearances were indeed deceiving.

By the time Lu Jingning entered the VIP private room, it was already filled with people. Wen Xingchen was sitting on a sofa, holding a transparent glass in his hand, and the liquid inside sparkled under the flickering lights. The hint of dampness in his hair from the recent shower made him appear more approachable than usual.

Though he sat quietly in a corner, the surrounding Omega attendees couldn’t help but sneak glances at him, displaying a mixture of curiosity and shyness.

Cen Junfeng, not far from Wen Xingchen, had made an effort to dress up before coming. Despite that, the difference between his popularity and Wen Xingchen’s was evident. Cen Junfeng’s treatment was poles apart from the attention Wen Xingchen received.

Feeling dissatisfied, Cen Junfeng sneered and thought, “Wen, you’re just showing off! The more flamboyant you act now, the more you’ll gain when Brother Lu arrives!”

Coincidentally, as if in response to his inner call, the door of the private room was pushed open from the outside, and a golden-haired head appeared. Excitedly, Cen Junfeng shouted, “Brother Lu!”

Though his shout wasn’t particularly loud, it soon got lost amidst the noisy atmosphere. Nevertheless, since most of the attendees were A-class or above in terms of their pheromone capacity, they heard him clearly and turned their gazes toward the entrance.

Lu Jingning received a grand welcome with everyone’s attention before even stepping inside. However, he didn’t show any embarrassment; instead, he greeted everyone nonchalantly, “Hey, good evening, everyone!”

A friendly Omega girl promptly handed him a drink, and he politely thanked her.

Lu Jingning surveyed the room and noticed the situation inside. Frowning, he muttered, “What’s going on in there? Why is Tang Jiaze sticking to the team captain again? Does he think he won’t get beaten up during the game?”

Wen Xingchen, who heard Lu Jingning’s words, was about to rush over, but he held him back with a sigh, “Don’t cause trouble in social gatherings. My brother knows what to do.”

Though Lu Jingning understood the situation, he was still worried and kept a close eye on the commotion inside. “Are you sure they won’t start a fight?” he asked.

Wen Xingchen patted his head, sounding quite certain, “As long as you don’t provoke them, they won’t fight.”

Cen Junfeng watched their interaction with delight, thinking, “With Lu Jingning around, Wen Xingchen won’t get into any trouble.”

As two Omega girls approached them, Cen Junfeng confidently held a champagne glass and went to greet them, but they politely brushed him aside, heading directly for Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen. Softly, one of the girls asked, “Excuse me, can we join you for a chat?”

When Wen Xingchen saw someone approaching, he was about to decline, but when Lu Jingning looked up, his fierce gaze instantly softened into tenderness. “Of course, you can!” he warmly replied.

Observing the two Omega girls happily sitting beside Lu Jingning, Cen Junfeng was astonished and mumbled, “Damn, they can do that too?!”

“Oh, I’ve really underestimated it! When it comes to Omega killers, Lu Jingning is just as skilled as Wen Xingchen! Can’t Alphas catch a break?!”

In just a few short minutes, Lu Jingning had already engaged in lively conversations with the two Omega girls. Most of the surrounding people were impressed by their powerful performance during the exchange competition and gathered around them. Soon, the group grew larger, and the spacious sofa became too crowded.

Some even brought chairs from elsewhere and sat in the aisle, laughing and cheering, unaware that it wasn’t a multiplayer interactive game they were witnessing.

Wen Xingchen sat beside the sofa, sipping his fruit juice while observing Lu Jingning’s flashy behavior.

“I’m definitely an S-class Omega!” Lu Jingning proudly declared, earning a chorus of admiration from the crowd. He humbly added, “It’s nothing special, really. It’s just that the noble lineage of the Lu family has created my unique existence.”

An Alpha couldn’t help but exclaim, “An S-class Omega… I wonder what their pheromones taste like.”

Wen Xingchen found Lu Jingning’s flaunting behavior increasingly cute. But when he heard the Alpha’s comment, his lips curved slightly downward.

Then, Lu Jingning half-jokingly, half-seriously asked, “How about it? Do you all want to experience it?”

Wen Xingchen’s gaze softened. Did Lu Jingning intend to let everyone try it out?

Before he could react and intervene, Cen Junfeng, the neglected Alpha, rushed over. He had been sitting alone, downing one drink after another, looking aloof and desolate. Lu Jingning’s words nearly made him fall off his chair, and his buzzed state faded away.

Using almost superhuman speed, he reached Lu Jingning and firmly grasped his hand, as if exerting all his strength to express sincerity. “Brother Lu, listen to me. Please stop joking!”

What a joke! If Lu Jingning unleashed his biochemical weapon in this confined space, this friendly gathering would turn into a horrifying ghost story!

Lu Jingning couldn’t help but find the situation amusing and pulled his hand back, looking disdainful. “What’s the rush? I was just talking. Am I the kind of person who doesn’t know the boundaries?”

Cen Junfeng looked at him with a twisted expression. ‘Aren’t you, though?’

Wen Xingchen lowered his eyelids, his smile slightly more pronounced. Interrupted by the sudden turn of events, he placed his raised hand back down.

An Omega girl who had been observing Wen Xingchen for a while mustered the courage to approach him. In a soft voice, she asked, “Classmate, can we… exchange contact numbers?”

Just as Wen Xingchen was about to decline, he changed his tone seemingly carefree and asked Lu Jingning, “What do you say? Can she?”

The girl looked between Wen Xingchen and Lu Jingning curiously, finding it hard to gauge their relationship based on their ambiguous attitudes.

Unpredictably, Lu Jingning replied, “I think it’s not a good idea.”

Wen Xingchen’s eyes flickered, softening gradually. He then heard Lu Jingning say seriously, “Lao Wen doesn’t understand love. To protect yourself, it’s better not to get too involved with him. The more contact you have, the deeper you’ll be trapped. As an Omega, you should be careful and protect yourself.”

Saying that, Lu Jingning took out his communicator and added, “But you seem cute, so how about we exchange numbers?”

Wen Xingchen: “…”

As the girl was taken aback by Lu Jingning’s response and began to fumble for her communicator, Wen Xingchen placed his hand over Lu Jingning’s and teased, “I think you two shouldn’t exchange numbers.”

Feeling Lu Jingning’s gaze joining the girl’s, Wen Xingchen couldn’t help but playfully curl his lips, implying something, “Alphas aren’t safe, and neither are Omegas. You should know that some Omegas can be just as dangerous as Alphas.”

His words were calm and clear.

The girl looked at Wen Xingchen and then at Lu Jingning, her face flushing with embarrassment. “Ah, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude.”

“It’s not like that, you misunderstood…” Lu Jingning tried to stop her, but she had already turned and left.

Lu Jingning, wanting to catch up, was about to extend his hand, but Wen Xingchen held it firmly in place. “Wen Xingchen, what do you mean? Why are you interrupting my flirtation?”

Wen Xingchen ignored his questioning and instead inquired leisurely, “Flirtation? Can those girls help you control your unstable pheromones?”

Lu Jingning: “???”

Wen Xingchen chuckled, “Or can they help you during your heat?”

Lu Jingning: “…………”

A mysterious glint flashed in Wen Xingchen’s eyes, and his taunting tone escalated, “They are useless. Why waste so much effort on them? If you want to flirt, shouldn’t you pursue someone more capable?”

With all the twisted logic, it almost sounded convincing.

“According to your logic, should I screen candidates carefully? With such high demands, I doubt I’ll find many even in the entire galaxy!” Lu Jingning was amused, so he leaned closer, almost blurting out, “If none of them can do it, why don’t I just pursue you?”

Wen Xingchen never expected him to ask that question. It seemed as if Lu Jingning had thought it through thoroughly before answering with a gentle tone, “Sure, come flirt with me.”

The previously boisterous atmosphere seemed to suddenly fall silent.

Lu Jingning was taken aback, studying Wen Xingchen’s expression, unsure if he was joking.

Before he could figure it out, a burst of cheers erupted behind him, capturing everyone’s attention.

Chapter 53 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 53

The Grand War University’s full elimination led to the Three Schools Alliance instantly being reduced to just two schools.

Within moments, a large area around them cleared, causing everyone to halt their attacks and hesitate, standing still in their tracks.

Only a few seconds ago, these people were confidently vowing to shatter the Imperial Navy University’s large energy crystal and eliminate all its members. But now, they suddenly realized that they might be the ones standing on the edge of a cliff, rather than the besieged Imperial Navy.

The defensive strength of the Grand War University’s base was formidable, and if the two freshmen from the Imperial Navy University could successfully overturn the base guarded by him, there was no doubt they could crush the other two military academies as well.

The realization that they might be the next ones to be forcibly eliminated by the system sent shivers down everyone’s spine. They hadn’t even secured a single point in this team match.

The players from the Silver Star University and the Heavy Cloud Defense University stood silently in their original positions. Though no one spoke, the atmosphere around them had frozen quietly.

With the 10 points already secured by the Imperial Navy University, combined with their previous scores, they had virtually secured victory. The battle for second place would be the focus now.

“Attention, this is not a still image. I repeat, this is not a still image!” The commentator quickly grasped the changes in the players’ minds and couldn’t help but laugh. “It seems that the Three Schools Alliance, no, the Two Schools Alliance now, has finally realized the error of their decision! However, there is no room for regret now. They are left with two options – either rush back to defend or watch their fragile alliance crumble!”

“In fact, I lean more towards a direct confrontation. It’s evident that the alliance’s morale has completely dispersed. Rather than putting on a front and pretending to be cooperative, it’s better to understand their real position. In a team match, there are only different military academy camps, and in the face of practical gains, securing valuable points is more important than anything else! Hopefully, this competition will teach these young military academy students a valuable lesson – the battlefield is just as cruel as the actual battlefield!”

Although the commentator was already captured in the audience’s hearts by the Imperial Navy, it had to be admitted that his words had some truth at this moment.

The camera lingered on the players of the two military academies, maintaining the silence.

The silence was finally broken by Tang Jiaze’s command, which was short but clear: “Attack!”

Though the target was not specified, everyone inexplicably understood.

If the Grand War University’s full elimination was the spark that ignited the situation, then at this moment, the so-called Three Schools Alliance had finally and officially collapsed.

No one made an attempt to attack the Imperial Navy University’s base crystal anymore, as it would be utterly meaningless in the face of the current point tally.

The two military academies, now competing for the second place in the exchange competition, abandoned their previous cooperation and engaged in a thrilling internal battle.

Despite being mentally prepared for some twists, the audience still couldn’t help but gasp at the turn of events – it was genuinely exciting!

While the commentator rapidly explained the battlefield situation, he also found time to add a couple of jokes: “Today’s team match is indeed extraordinary, and it may become a classic case in the history of the military. After all, it’s not every day you get to witness a large alliance breaking up like this. This also serves as a lesson – while the enemy of your enemy might become your friend, never trust your enemy’s allies, as betrayal can happen at any time. Alliances can turn into nothing but empty promises!”

As he said that, he glanced at Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen with a smiling face and continued, “Anyway, let’s congratulate the Imperial Navy University on winning the team match in advance! You see, the last Imperial Navy University lost the championship due to a defeat in the team match, but this time, they have finally proven their position as the number one military academy with absolute strength! We also believe that every student who once shone in the exchange competition will become great military officers on the battlefield in the future! Congratulations to Wen Ye, congratulations to Lu Jingning, congratulations to every player of the Imperial Navy University! You are the champions!”

While the commentator passionately summarized his closing remarks, the camera flashed to Lu Jingning.

This time, the moment when he shattered the Silver Star University’s large crystal was clearly presented to the audience.

The on-site audience: “Ah ah ah ah ah ah! So handsome! I’m falling in love!”

The moment the system withdrew all movement permits, Tang Jiaze couldn’t help but curse fiercely.

In the resting area, Cen Junfeng couldn’t sit still anymore and almost leaped from his chair: “Brother Lu is awesome! I’ll be your most loyal follower from now on!!!”

As the competition progressed, with Grand War University and Silver Star University consecutively eliminated, the few remaining players of the Heavy Cloud Defense University were covered in injuries. The team match was now approaching its end.

When Wen Ye and Kang Hanyun cleared the last remaining personnel, Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen followed suit and crushed the energy crystal of the Heavy Cloud Defense University, just like the other two teams.

The screen suddenly lit up with thousands of lights.

Behind the central emblem of the Imperial Navy University appeared the prominent word “Victory,” amidst the continuous screams, igniting a surge of excitement.

When Lu Jingning finished the match and came out of the virtual cabin, he still felt a bit unsatisfied, murmuring softly to Wen Xingchen all the way.

At this moment, suddenly an incredibly excited figure rushed over and gave an unannounced bear hug: “Ah ah ah ah ah Lu bro, you’re simply awesome! No, I can’t call you Lu bro anymore! I should call you Daddy! Daddy Lu!!!”

Wen Xingchen’s eyes narrowed slightly with a hint of coldness when he unexpectedly witnessed this scene.

However, Cen Junfeng was completely immersed in the excitement of victory, oblivious to any danger signal: “Heaven knows how you guys did it! Your speed in dismantling the enemy’s base was godlike!”

Lu Jingning finally realized that this guy was truly an Alpha, both fierce and impulsive, unable to control his strength. It annoyed him to the point of getting a headache, so he pushed Cen Junfeng away impatiently and said, “Call me Daddy if you want, but don’t touch me. Your Daddy Lu refuses to accept such insincere flattery!”

Cen Junfeng was about to approach again, but he was suddenly restrained by someone.

Although the force applied seemed minuscule, it immobilized him completely due to the vast disparity in strength.

Cen Junfeng turned back, feeling slightly displeased, and met a pair of eyes that seemed to be laughing and yet not: profound, dark, and emotionless. They stared at him without any feelings, “Since you’re so happy, how about hugging me too?”

Cen Junfeng felt a chill running up his spine even though Wen Xingchen hadn’t released any pheromones. He clearly sensed the oppressive aura that was so straightforward between Alphas.

Realizing how foolish he had been, Cen Junfeng instinctively stood at attention, “No! No need!”

He was well aware of how strong an Alpha’s possessiveness could be. Only now did he understand how reckless he had been to act this way in front of everyone. The fact that Wen Xingchen didn’t instantly dismember him on the spot was already showing mercy.

At this moment, the other three main players of the team returned to the resting area.

Wen Ye clapped his hands lightly and summarized simply, “Good job, everyone, in the exchange competition.”

Kang Hanyun smiled charmingly, “You all didn’t disappoint Sister Yun’s expectations. You all did great!”

Ji Han interrupted their playful chatter and brought their attention back. After assembling in place, they all walked up to the award podium together.

At this point, the central arena had automatically transformed into the award ceremony scene. The Imperial Navy team stood in a row in front of the crowd, receiving the championship medals from the organizers. After that, they gathered around the dazzling trophy and lifted it high above their heads with force.

The whole arena was filled with blossoming fireworks, and the entire audience erupted in cheers once again, passionately shouting the names of the team members.

Lu Jingning heard his name being called and couldn’t help but pull Wen Xingchen over to tease, “Let’s count? Let’s see who’s more popular?”

Wen Xingchen didn’t seem interested in this childish game and replied without hesitation, “No need to count. You’ll win for sure.”

Lu Jingning grinned smugly, “That’s true. I feel the same.”

After the award ceremony, there was a long period of interviews.

Lu Jingning had never been able to sit still on such occasions. Being forced to stay in one place resulted in him dozing off several times. Finally, when he heard Wen Ye still seriously answering the reporters’ questions, he leaned on the table and fell asleep.

Wen Xingchen noticed the person next to him burying his head lower and lower. He looked at Lu Jingning, whose eyelids had closed, and quietly moved forward to block him from view.

After the press conference ended, Lu Jingning was still yawning uncontrollably as they walked outside.

Suddenly, Bing Yunlin stopped in his tracks and said with a smile, “The logistics team of Heavy Cloud Defense University just contacted me. They have reserved a private room outside and invited several exchange teams to gather together.”

Everyone was feeling exhausted after the continuous days of battles, and almost instinctively, they asked, “Are the guys from Silver Star going too? Then, forget it!”

Bing Yunlin smiled slightly, “It’s mainly a social event with many Omegas from Heavy Cloud Defense University in attendance.”

The surroundings fell briefly silent, and then, almost at the same time, they spoke up, “I’m in!”

Chapter 52 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 52

At this moment, Lu Jingning was standing on the wreckage of an old mecha, holding a thick metal stick he somehow found. With a slender wrist raised, he nonchalantly rested the broken blade on his shoulder, as if it symbolized the bloodshed and battles he had just experienced.

After concluding his communication with Wen Ye, Lu Jingning glanced at Wen Xingchen and said, “The captain told us to speed up.”

Wen Xingchen nodded without hesitation, “Then let’s directly break through the crystal.”

Meanwhile, as the Three Schools Alliance was still assembling, the big screen displayed their actions. Upon hearing their conversation, everyone’s expressions became complex.

“Do they think the energy crystal is as easy as picking cabbage? Are they planning to break through just like that?!”

However, when they looked at the Three Schools Alliance, which was gradually gathering, they had to admit that apart from rapidly annihilating the enemy base, there seemed to be no other feasible option for them.

Speed and decisiveness were essential!

The Imperial Navy University had indeed displayed overwhelming strength in this military academy exchange competition. Sometimes, they were not only inexperienced but also too powerful, making it a kind of original sin.

As the source of all evil on the battlefield, Lu Jingning, after a brief exchange with Wen Xingchen, began moving swiftly once again.

If others thought their words were merely due to their lack of experience in the league, they were proven wrong when they saw the two charging straight towards Grand War’s main base. They were not even attempting to take a detour.

There were confused faces all around.

What kind of divine operation was this?!

Their aggressive approach bewildered even the viewers from the god’s-eye perspective, let alone the defenders of Grand War’s base.

Seeing the sudden appearance of the two in their field of view, Luojingchen hesitated for a moment and immediately sought instructions from the frontline captain.

While the Three Schools Alliance had almost completed their assembly and was preparing to launch an attack, Grand War’s captain was somewhat startled by the inquiry. “Are you saying those two want to break through our base?! Do your best to intercept them; we’ll also step up our defenses.”

After ending the communication, the captain glanced at the others and couldn’t help but chuckle, “The Imperial Navy University hasn’t called their people back for defense even at this moment. They’re becoming overly arrogant.”

Someone from the Heavy Cloud Defense University frowned, “It’s been three years, and it seems like Wen Ye has become even more aggressive.”

“This must be due to their recent smooth sailing; they’ve become too complacent. They seem to have forgotten how they lost the previous exchange competition. We thought Wen Ye would have learned from that experience, but apparently, they haven’t.”

Listening to their discussion, the commentator couldn’t help but feel amused, “It’s evident that the Three Schools Alliance is determined to win this time! However, their optimism might be a bit too much. As of now, Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen have already initiated their attack. Can Grand War’s defense hold them outside the base?”

The tone of the commentator seemed somewhat delighted, leaving the audience feeling a bit speechless. However, when the camera returned to Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen, they were stunned by the intense battle on the screen.

“It’s just too explosive! The first shot shows a huge rock shattering under the beam, and two figures are darting around like phantoms, avoiding continuous strafing. Regardless of the dense firepower, they aren’t hindered in the slightest. Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen are demonstrating incredible agility and swift movements!”

The commentator’s voice changed as he got more excited, “They have evaded a wave of mini-trackers’ self-destruct attacks, and now they’re facing the drone group’s strafing interception. Can they avoid it? Oh, they did it again! A beautiful side flip and a quick turn combined with the use of cover have bewildered the drones. Where should they fly now? But it’s no surprise; Lu Jingning’s movements are just too clever. Even with a god’s premonition, it will still feel like being fully wrapped up in his trick. This positioning will undoubtedly make it into the top 10 highlights of this year!”

The commentator was nearly banging his head on the table with excitement, “Another perfect blast! Wen Xingchen is skillfully utilizing the terrain conditions! This is the third heavy mechanical depot destroyed at Grand War’s base!”

“But that’s not all; they continue to advance! It’s hard to believe that this level of destruction is caused by two freshmen! They’re like mobile explosive machines! Up to this point, nearly two-thirds of Grand War’s base has been destroyed. Can they hold on until the Three Schools Alliance completes its operation?!”

At this point, no one cared about the commentator maintaining neutrality.

Everyone watching witnessed the successive explosions that looked like fireworks, not only happening in the sky above Grand War’s base but also sparking in the minds of the audience.

Are these two really ordinary military academy students? Placed in any war setting, even among the top military personnel, there would be no sense of incongruity with their actions.

Feeling a bit dizzy, they were allowed a moment to catch their breath.

Meanwhile, Grand War’s defenders had no time for respite. Their operator’s hands were constantly at work, and even in the virtual space, the overwhelming tension made them feel chills down their spines.

Though they had received orders from their captain, seeing those two figures approach at a speed surpassing ordinary humans, the operator couldn’t help but open the communicator again and desperately seek support, “Defend the base! Request rapid reinforcement! The base is on the verge of collapse! Request reinforcements!”

As the communication reached its end, the operator’s gaze met with a pair of smiling eyes.

Lu Jingning had gone through many obstacles to arrive here, and his appearance seemed a bit disheveled. However, when he curved his eyes, an overly brilliant light seemed to shine through, causing a faint pang in the viewer’s eyes.

He stood before the last giant mecha of the base, and even in the serious situation of both armies facing each other, he politely greeted, “Hey, it’s been quite a journey. We finally meet!”

The defender’s mouth twitched slightly, and on the other side, Grand War’s captain heard the sudden silence over the communicator. An anxious voice came through, “What’s the situation at the base? Please respond! Do you need reinforcements? Give us a clear message!”

The defender remained silent for a moment and sighed softly, “It’s already… not needed.”

Clearly, even if they returned at that moment, it would be too late.

As Lu Jingning was engaged in the confrontation, the camera suddenly switched to the middle lane.

This abrupt change made the audience, who were eagerly waiting for the final showdown, erupt in frustration.

What’s going on? This is a historic moment!

However, the organizers had to be fair, as the Three Schools Alliance was launching an attack together. Without switching the camera, they feared that Grand War’s team would be completely eliminated.

Compared to the reactions of others, the commentator’s response was much quicker. He quickly took a sip of tea and cleared his throat before speaking, “Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen have been making impressive progress, and the Three Schools Alliance is also moving fast. Within a short period, they’ve already overturned the peripheral defenses. But can they make it in time? After all, Wen Ye and Kang Hanyun successfully returned to defend. Besides, Bing Yunlin, the recognized best operator among the military academies, is holding the fort. Judging from the current situation, their progress doesn’t seem to be going smoothly. If they continue like this, those two overlooked freshmen might just surprise them.”

The intensity of the middle lane battle was evident, but compared to the previously shown top lane, despite the significantly larger number of people, the visual impact was somewhat underwhelming.

Lu Jingning carried an air of wildness that was rarely seen among other military academy students. While most people would consider energy allocation during team matches, he seemed not to bother with it. He simply detonated and destroyed, seemingly driven by a pure mischievous spirit.

However, this very demeanor ignited unparalleled excitement among the audience.

This led to a balanced atmosphere on the battlefield between the top and middle lanes.

But with this balance, the tempo on the middle lane appeared slower than the other side.

At this moment, Grand War’s captain, upon hearing “not needed,” although sensing something amiss in the tone, subconsciously leaned towards a positive interpretation. His first reaction was that their defender had successfully dealt with the two from the Imperial Navy University.

Yet, when he looked up at the team score, there was no change. It seemed like it wasn’t the case.

But if it wasn’t…

He finally felt a sense of unease in his heart, which was soon confirmed.

In the chaotic scene, Tang Jiaze saw Grand War’s captain still standing there dazed. He couldn’t help but call out from a distance, “Grand War, don’t stay behind. We’re launching the next wave of attacks!”

Then he saw the opponent’s silhouette strangely flicker around, and before the captain could say anything, he vanished into thin air.

All Grand War team members were immediately ejected from the system, leaving behind their equipment scattered on the ground, adding an eerie backdrop to the previously roaring battlefield.

This sudden turn of events left everyone momentarily stunned, and then they realized what had happened. Their expressions couldn’t help but twist in a bizarre manner.

Subconsciously, they looked up at the scoreboard and, as expected, saw the Imperial Navy University’s score jump from 7 to 10.

Crushing the enemy’s base crystal directly earned them 3 points.

The audience: …

Damn it! They still didn’t get to see the scene where the energy crystal was taken down. Who switched the camera to the top lane?! Get your ass out here and face the consequences! Kill him! Ahhh!

The commentator chimed in, “Congratulations to the Imperial Navy University. Finally, the moment has come when the Three Schools Alliance starts to crumble. Hahaha!”

Lu Jingning had no idea about the near-riot that almost happened outside due to the lack of appreciation for his magnificent performance.

At this moment, he sat on the Grand War base’s energy crystal, sounding somewhat regretful, “It’s a shame there’s no communicator in the virtual map. Otherwise, I’d take a selfie now. How cool would that be?”

Wen Xingchen, who was busy swapping some equipment, looked up at him for a moment and couldn’t help but chuckle, “Whether you take a selfie or not, you’re still pretty cool.”

Lu Jingning genuinely felt that Wen Xingchen was very skilled in his speech. Even though he delivered a rather subtle compliment, it seemed to dissipate much of his regret.

Looking back at the pile of ruins behind him, Lu Jingning became increasingly satisfied with his masterpiece, “Of course, how can I not be cool? With such thorough demolition skills, who else but me could do it!”

Wen Xingchen naturally reached out and grabbed his collar, pulling him off the crystal, reminding him, “Enough boasting. Don’t forget, your idol is still waiting for you to save him.”

Lu Jingning immediately snapped back to attention, and with a serious expression, he said, “That’s right. We can’t forget this daunting mission!”

Wen Xingchen asked, “Where to next?”

Without hesitation, Lu Jingning took action, “Silver Star!”

Wen Xingchen quickly caught him by the collar and said, “You’re running in the wrong direction; it’s this way.”

“Cough, cough.” Lu Jingning cleared his throat and pretended as if nothing had happened, then turned around and ran, “Hurry, catch up!”

Chapter 51 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 51

“Captain, we’ve completed the mission.” On the battlefield, Lu Jingning kicked the “corpse” next to him to the side and cheerfully reported to Wen Ye through the communicator.

His tone sounded like he was bragging, which made Wen Xingchen, who had just approached, look at him with a puzzled expression. The refreshed team battle score list hinted at what had happened, but the sudden increase of 6 points still surprised him. He asked, “How many enemies did your team eliminate?”

Lu Jingning hadn’t paid much attention, so he glanced around and counted carefully before calmly replying, “It seems like two from Silver Star University, one from Heavy Cloud, and three from Grand War.”

Meanwhile, on the other side, Wen Ye fell into silence. After exchanging a glance with Kang Hanyun, he said, “Keep moving along this path.”

Seeing that Lu Jingning hadn’t studied the map beforehand, he blurted out, “Where does this lead?”

Wen Xingchen explained, “It leads to Grand War’s main base.”

Lu Jingning’s eyes lit up, “Straight to their base? I like it!”

Suddenly, sounds of intense fighting came from the other end of the communicator. Wen Ye didn’t say much and left with a parting remark, “Contact me if anything happens.”

Hearing the communication cut off, Lu Jingning knew what was going on without asking.

However, Lu Jingning wasn’t too worried about Wen Ye encountering enemies on his side. He squatted down and casually searched through the nearby “corpses,” taking some equipment and also asking Wen Xingchen, “Lao Wen, aren’t you going to restock some supplies?”

Wen Xingchen only took out a few energy bullets and replied, “These will do.”

After standing up and glancing at Lu Jingning, Wen Xingchen couldn’t help but ask, “Your ‘god’ is in a fight, haven’t you thought about supporting him?”

Lu Jingning sneered, “My ‘god’ is not someone those ordinary mortals can compare to. I trust him unconditionally! Supporting him would be the greatest insult!”

Wen Xingchen: “…”

He was wrong; he shouldn’t have asked.

The two didn’t say anything more and continued along the path towards Grand War’s main base.

At this moment, the large screen in the arena switched to where Wen Ye was fighting. When the audience saw the two figures facing him, they couldn’t help but gasp. Even though Tang Jiaze’s image might be associated with his crushing defeat due to Lu Jingning’s influence, when these two appeared together in the field of view, many people couldn’t help but think of one word: destiny.

Tang Jiaze had been waiting for Wen Ye for quite a while. Standing beside him was the freshman from Silver Star University who had tried to stall Wen Ye on the day of the actual combat. Whether it was an attempt to use the same strategy again or for another reason, he immediately launched a fierce attack as soon as they met.

The commentator remarked, “It’s clear that the grudge between Silver Star University and Imperial Navy University is still deeply entwined! Last time, Imperial Navy University was leading all the way, but they ultimately lost to Silver Star University in the team match. Today, the battlefield is repeating history. We wonder how it will all end.”

“Oh, as expected, Tang Jiaze is aiming straight for Wen Ye. The two team leaders from the two academies are clashing again!”

On the battlefield, dirt and stones flew everywhere. It seemed both sides were quite accustomed to this style of combat. Regardless of long-range shooting or close combat, each collision carried an indescribable sense of attachment.

During the previous real combat, due to the pre-exhaustion of physical strength, Wen Ye’s perception wasn’t as acute. However, in this direct confrontation, he was surprised to find that Tang Jiaze had made significant progress in just a few years. He had grown to be this powerful.

The two figures clashed again, and in an instant, Tang Jiaze gazed at Wen Ye’s furrowed brow and a wicked grin appeared on his face. He said, “How is it, Wen Ye? Do you feel my strength has improved a lot? Of course, you S-class prodigies, born with god-given talents, can never understand the efforts we A-class students put in to improve. But what can I do? I truly look forward to the day I can completely defeat you…”

Wen Ye sidestepped, evading his incoming punch, and calmly stated, “Last time, you guys won.”

He hadn’t meant to say it, but now that he had, it seemed like he touched a sore spot for Tang Jiaze, who bit his teeth hard and retorted, “Won? Hah, that’s not the kind of victory I wanted!”

Indeed, in the last competition, Silver Star University had secured the top spot on the total score list. But so what? In everyone’s hearts, there was only one name they were obsessed with—Wen Ye. As for Tang Jiaze, no one even spared him a second thought!

Some people were just like that, destined to shine brightly from the moment they were born, while those impoverished people who came from the desolate star system had to rely on their own efforts, step by step, to barely keep up with them.

Countless people had told him that different people were fated to have different destinies, but Tang Jiaze simply refused to believe in such a fate!

He was sick and tired of the days of struggling at the bottom! Now that he had finally entered Silver Star University and reached such a glorious position, he was determined to climb even higher.

He wanted to surpass those high and mighty figures and prove to the entire universe that people from the desolate star system could also possess absolute strength. They were not trash!

Tang Jiaze’s killing intent surged, and the pheromones burst out, covering a large area. His figure seemed like a phantom, and the power he displayed in the battle seemed to be as heavy as a thousand pounds.

Wen Ye didn’t expect Tang Jiaze to suddenly expend his pheromones without any regard for the consequences. He furrowed his brow slightly, avoiding a direct confrontation and skillfully sidestepping at a critical moment.

The commentator said, “It’s evident that Tang Jiaze is being extremely persistent. Wen Ye, under such relentless pressure, has yet to respond directly. Based on the information we have, both of them are S-class pheromone wielders, and this direct confrontation is like a needlepoint against a wheat awn.”

“However, Tang Jiaze seems to be displaying stronger combat intent. So, what is Wen Ye waiting for? Obviously, if they can’t deal with this troublesome obstacle, it’ll be nearly impossible for them to proceed!”

Not only the commentator but also Kang Hanyun, who had fought side by side with Wen Ye countless times in the Imperial Navy University patrol team, couldn’t quite grasp Wen Ye’s intentions during their current encounter with the freshman. She couldn’t help but ask, “Captain?”

Whether it was due to Tang Jiaze’s suppression or for some other reason, Wen Ye remained silent and unresponsive for a while.

During the brief skirmish, the surrounding trees were already in disarray, and the ground was filled with pockmarks, indicating the intensity of the battle.

Wen Ye’s furrowed brow didn’t relax; it seemed that something had flashed through his mind during the prolonged engagement with Tang Jiaze. After a moment of silence, he suddenly spoke, “Hanyun, retreat!”

Kang Hanyun: “???”

Kang Hanyun: “Understood!”

Although she didn’t fully understand Wen Ye’s intentions, her habit of strictly obeying orders kept her from saying much. Ignoring the Imperial Navy University freshman, who was sticking to her like a plaster, she promptly withdrew to the rear.

Tang Jiaze, seeing Wen Ye suddenly retreat, realized that the latter had seen through his intentions. His cold gaze deepened, and he said with a cruel smile, “Trying to leave? Not that easy!”

However, Wen Ye seemed uninterested in engaging him further. He gathered his pheromones in his legs and, with a powerful burst of strength, quickly put some distance between them. He showed no desire to linger in the fight, and like Kang Hanyun, he turned and left.

But wanting to leave didn’t mean Tang Jiaze would allow it. He immediately closed in again, intending to continue the entanglement.

The sudden change in the situation left the commentator briefly stunned. But upon seeing the reactions of both parties, he seemed to realize something and had the production team switch to a broader view of the battlefield.

As expected, while they were engaged here, apart from the personnel guarding the base, including the substitutes who had just entered the field, all the members of the three academies were rapidly advancing towards Imperial Navy University’s main base.

Clearly, the newly acquired 6 points had made them more aware of the looming threat from Imperial Navy University.

The commentator remarked, “It seems that the three academies have finally realized the immense danger posed by Imperial Navy University. They’re now planning to directly destroy Imperial Navy University’s base crystal as a last resort! Imperial Navy University is in big trouble! Wen Ye and Kang Hanyun are retreating at high speed, but they still have quite a distance to cover to reach their base. With Tang Jiaze’s frenzied restraint, can they catch up in time? Given the current circumstances, will Imperial Navy University choose to recall personnel from Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen to reinforce their base?!”

As if to answer this question, the camera switched back to Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen’s position on the top lane.

How to describe it… wherever they went, nothing happened.

Seeing this impactful scene, the commentator suddenly cleared his throat and changed his tone, “Oh, what I mean is, as a team captain, Wen Ye truly understands how to make the most appropriate decisions at the right time!”

Then, as if feeling his expression wasn’t enough to convey his current feelings, he exclaimed with conviction, “Let’s look forward to the performance of Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen, hoping they will show us what it truly means to turn the tide!”

Audience: ?????

Supporters from the other three academies: Is the commentator suddenly becoming a sycophant at the live event? He’s being so biased! Can we report him for being so crooked?

Chapter 50 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 50

After clearly understanding the movement routes of Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen, the commentator had obviously grasped the intention of the Imperial Navy University. However, upon observing the changes in the upper route, he fell silent for a moment before speaking again: “I can understand the Imperial Navy’s thinking very well. After all, dealing with three A-class pheromone players with the strength of Lu Jingning and Wen Xingchen is not a problem. But, at the moment, I’m afraid I can only say… the Imperial Navy’s luck seems a bit too unfortunate.”

The audience in the stands naturally noticed the changes on the field and couldn’t help but feel a mix of complex emotions. “More than just unfortunate, it’s like the Imperial Navy is experiencing a retrograde phase today!”

“Sigh, don’t ask, it’s just uncomfortable. My two cuties are about to face a new wave of slaughter, it’s really distressing.”

“But why do I still have a feeling that a storm is brewing?”

“Don’t be silly, it’s two against six? They are just freshmen, not immortals, you know?!”

“There’s a saying, ‘anything is possible!'”

“Am I the only one who thinks it’s a bit insane for the three schools to team up against the Imperial Navy?”

“It does seem a bit…”

“This is the arena and the battlefield is truly cruel.”

In the short time that the teams exchanged members, the trio from another university, Grand War University, also appeared on the upper route and quickly reached a consensus with the other two schools. As a result, the chaotic situation among the four schools turned into a confrontation between two factions.

The commentator felt that his professional career was facing an unprecedented challenge and took a while to organize his words: “I have to say, the Imperial Navy University has demonstrated its strength in a different way. The other three military academies have formed an alliance to eliminate this excessively dominant opponent in advance. Now we can only see how the Imperial Navy plans to deal with this situation. However, regardless of the outcome, they are undoubtedly the protagonists of today’s team match!”

As the protagonist, Lu Jingning couldn’t hear the impassioned commentary from outside, nor could he feel the cold sweat being squeezed by their supporters. He was walking along the battlefield.

As they progressed, they could already see the traces left behind from the previous battles. Feeling the unnaturally quiet atmosphere around them, Lu Jingning furrowed his brows and suddenly stopped.

Wen Xingchen, who had been following him, also stopped and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Lu Jingning shook his head, “Hard to say, but my intuition tells me something’s not quite right ahead.”

Wen Xingchen scanned their surroundings and said, “Oh, you’re right, something’s off.”

“An ambush?” Lu Jingning asked.

Wen Xingchen chuckled lightly, “There’s probably quite a few of them.”

Due to the need for frequent communication during the team match, unlike the previous two days of individual battles, the players’ conversations were broadcasted clearly to the audience. Just as everyone was focused on their progress, the main screen was on them, and they could clearly hear the two’s conversation. Their keen perception caused quite a stir.

The commentator was also amazed, “The intuition of these two players is really keen! Yes! There are currently six people lying in ambush ahead, doubling the previous estimate of three. So, after sensing it, what method will they use to deal with it? Will they retreat immediately or…”

In the rest area, Cen Junfeng found the commentary too noisy and couldn’t help but comment, “Retreat is impossible. What else can they do? Face it head-on!”

As expected, even before he finished speaking, the main screen showed Lu Jingning suddenly taking out a beam gun from his pouch and making a few inexplicable gestures to Wen Xingchen. Then, he accelerated and charged straight towards the ambushing opponents.

Wen Xingchen miraculously understood him completely and quickly dodged to the other side, effectively concealing his figure from the view of the alliance team.

At that moment, Lu Jingning officially clashed with the opponents lying in ambush on the roadside.

His speed was incredibly fast, to the point that when he appeared, the players from the other three military academies were momentarily stunned. Upon realizing that only he had come, they couldn’t help but feel a complicated mood.

Though they had formed an alliance to completely annihilate the Imperial Navy University, besieging one person among them felt like taking advantage of their superior numbers.

Such a video, even if they ultimately won, would probably not receive much praise from the public.

However, the so-called moral struggle was just a brief moment. After all, they were all on the battlefield now and had no time to be distracted.

In an instant, Lu Jingning had already entered the attack range, and the players from the three-school alliance decisively launched an encirclement.

What they didn’t know was that, unlike the “compassion” that appeared out of nowhere, Lu Jingning was inexplicably excited upon seeing them. One, two, three, four, five, six… What a tempting pile of points!

Just now, when he speculated that new military academies might join the alliance, he didn’t flinch at all. His only thought was, “Wow, that’s a lot of people!”

Indeed, without the infighting among the other military academies, from a certain perspective, it was like gathering all their necks together and waiting for the Imperial Navy University to completely demolish them.

Lu Jingning’s footsteps didn’t hesitate in the slightest as he dashed through the rugged mud terrain, like a sharp arrow shooting from its bowstring.

The six ambushers were almost taken aback by his forceful momentum and were instantly filled with anger. How dare he charge towards them alone despite being outnumbered? Who did he think he was underestimating?!

Even the commentator was astonished by Lu Jingning’s direct and almost aggressive approach, his voice involuntarily raising a few notches, “Lu Jingning is actually charging ahead like this! Keep in mind, he’s facing a total of six opponents! His speed is incredibly fast; oh, a beautiful dodge, he evaded the first wave of shots! Counterattack! His shooting is precise! Has the Grand War University player lost their mobility? Could this be the third elimination of the match?!”

However, the subsequent development caught him off guard, and he stammered, “Oh, Lu Jingning didn’t even bother with them… He, he’s charging towards the two players from Silver Star University! It’s evident that he’s skilled in finding the right moments to move. Wonderful! The alliance’s attack has failed again! It’s understandable, after all, it’s a temporary team, and under such repeated disturbances, their coordination is becoming chaotic.”

“He’s closing in! Lu Jingning has successfully closed the distance! He used pheromone enhancement to strengthen his footwork, making his speed astonishing! This move towards the rear is truly beautiful. Is he really going to take on six opponents by himself? Remember, this is a team match!”

“Be careful!” In the perilous situation, the commentator seemed to be inadvertently biased, not realizing it himself, “As everyone’s attention is on Lu Jingning, he has been given a completely open sniping space! Grand War has lost one player, and the next is… oh, it’s Heavy Cloud! Heavy Cloud Defense University has already lost two players so far! But it’s not enough, not enough! Let me correct what I said earlier. It’s not that Lu Jingning is surrounded by the alliance, but rather he and Wen Xingchen have completely surrounded the players from the other three military academies!!”

As he spoke, he stood up from his seat, hands supporting the table, and was so excited that he almost shouted.

However, no matter how vividly and passionately he described the process, it couldn’t fully convey the precarious situation on the battlefield.

In the process of moving, Lu Jingning had already simulated the route in advance, just as he had communicated with Wen Xingchen. His task was to divert everyone’s attention completely and create a perfect output space for Wen Xingchen.

Although opening pheromone suppression might seem like the most direct approach, to achieve long-range intimidation, it required a high level of release intensity, which would consume a lot of energy.

Therefore, after successfully “drawing the monsters” at this moment, a faint smile appeared on his face.

The players from Silver Star University released their pheromones as Lu Jingning closed in.

Two A-class Alpha auras with a conquering taste rushed toward him, tightly enveloping Lu Jingning, attempting to force this Omega player to submit to them.

Alpha pheromones naturally possess aggressiveness, which further disadvantages Omega. Generally, Omegas rarely engage in close combat due to this.

However, Lu Jingning was clearly different.

The players from Silver Star University couldn’t see any impact on him; on the contrary, the next moment, even more imposing pheromones roared in their direction.

Without giving them any time to react, they were effortlessly cleared out.

Those who were at a distance wanted to seize the opportunity while Lu Jingning was engaged to quickly eliminate him, but it seemed like someone was dissatisfied with their hunting tactics.

Several gunshots from the shadows caused several figures to fall in quick succession.

Wen Xingchen held a long-range weapon, and the scene showed him leaning against a tree, leisurely retracting his sniper posture and looking at the fleeing figure in the distance.

In order to avoid his range, the surviving player had to retreat to a farther position. However, in doing so, they unknowingly fell into Lu Jingning’s attack range.

With a portable gun in hand, Lu Jingning played with it for a moment before putting it away without even bothering to release his pheromones. He looked at the approaching player and gently beckoned, “Wanna play?”

There was no shortage of arrogance.

The Grand War student couldn’t help but twitch at the corner of his mouth and also clenched his fists.

However, he soon realized that saying “let’s play” was something he couldn’t live up to.

Though he could fully release his pheromone aura, Lu Jingning simply disregarded it and effortlessly sent him out of the match.

On the team match’s scoreboard, the Imperial Navy University’s points skyrocketed from one to seven in an instant.

Two scenes were displayed on the large screen: the one before and the one after. The entire venue fell silent for a moment before exploding into commotion.

If they hadn’t witnessed it themselves, nobody would believe that in just a few minutes, the alliance’s ambush of six people had been effortlessly dismantled like this?

ASDF! What kind of devilish combination was this?!
