Chapter 26 – I like you

Chapter 26 – I like you

It was very quiet inside the car. Xing Zhongwan and Qi Yun were sitting on different sides and the gap between them was more than enough to fit two people. Xing Zhongwan was angry, very angry. God knows that after what Qi Yun said, it almost made him throw another punch at him. Anyway, he couldn’t bear to look at Qi Yun right now. He was played around by him like a puppy. I was afraid that I was the one who misled you. Unexpectedly, you already realized it a long time ago. Was it fun to watch me make those blunders?

The car stopped in front of the villa and Xing Zhongwan opened the car door angrily before going straight inside by himself. The driver looked at Qi Yun, who only leaned aside and closed his eyes to rest.

Xing Zhongwan walked halfway inside before turning back angrily. He opened the door and glanced at Qi Yun with his head down, “I will help you into a wheelchair,” he said harshly. The driver on the side quickly moved a few steps away.

Qi Yun opened his eyes, his eyes were downcast and Xing Zhongwan didn’t know whether he agreed or not, but he didn’t have the time to watch him pretend to be autistic. He carried him out of the car and put him in the wheelchair.

Qi Yun whispered in his ear, “Wanwan, don’t be angry.”

It would be alright if he did not say a word but Xing Zhongwan got more angry after hearing this. He yelled at the driver who was about to sneak out of sight, ”Do you not have eyes?! Push your third young master inside!”

Everyone in the villa knew that Miss Xing was angry, but even the Third Young Master ignored it. While Miss Xing was angry, the Third Young Master did not feel well. He didn’t eat and he stopped his efforts in physical rehabilitation. He sat alone on his bed, dazed. The old housekeeper tried to feed him, but he wouldn’t eat.

Xing Zhongwan couldn’t stay here any longer so he took his car keys, put on his coat and went out.

At the sound of the car starting, Qi Yun couldn’t help but raise his head. The expression on his face was pretty bad, “He’s leaving?”

She didn’t know if he was talking to himself or asking her. The old housekeeper trembled as she replied, “He’s going out.”

Qi Yun closed his eyes before striking the bedside lamp on the table onto the ground. The loud noise made the old housekeeper shut her eyes in a panic. Qi Yun clenched his fists tightly, his forehead exuded fine sweat. He slapped his legs harshly with his palms once, then twice, and thrice…

The old housekeeper’s face turned into one of fright.

Qi Yun hit himself more than a dozen times until the pain in his legs that had initially recovered came back. He flipped open the quilt only to remember his body’s condition when he suddenly fell to the ground. The porcelain shards pierced into his body and blood began to seep out little by little. The old housekeeper covered her mouth, “Third Young Master!!!”

She wanted to reach out and help but Qi Yun smacked her hand away with great force, “Get out!!!”

He shouted hoarsely as both of his hands tightly gripped the porcelain shards on the ground. The piercing pain helped him forget the coldness he was feeling.

The smell of blood gradually thickened and Qi Yun’s consciousness gradually became blurred. Before he fainted, the old housekeeper who was so frightened that he collapsed to the ground only heard one word, “Wanwan…”

Xing Zhongwan took Xue Qing out for a drink. Xue Qing looked at Xing Zhongwan, who was drinking wine like it was water. She felt like he was about to have a headache and snatched his bottle of liquor away, “Didn’t you say that you weren’t going to spend the rest of your days with him? He already knew you were a man from the very start, why are you so angry?”

Xing Zhongwan lay back on the large sofa, “Laozi’s just bored. After being played like a monkey for so many days. I even teased him back. Everyone else already knew from the start, they were just watching the show.”

Xue Qing held a cigarette in her mouth, “Who told you to run your mouth and flirt back? Didn’t you think you were headed in an odd direction?! Lao Xing, Qi Yun has known for a long time that you’re a man, yet he still treated you like this. He’s taken an interest in you and likes you, hahaha.”

Xing Zhongwan grabbed the banana chips on the table and threw them at Xue Qing, “Shut your trap. I’m getting annoyed to death, yet you’re still here making fun of it. Plus, I still have to go back there to face him. Thinking about it gives me a serious headache.”

“What are you having a headache for? Just accept it. It’s already played out like this after so long. If you raise Qi Yun well, he’ll also become quite a rare specimen.”

Xue Qing’s laughter made Xing Zhongwan’s anger rise again. He picked up some clothes by his side and opened the door.

Xue Qing was lying on the sofa as she laughed, “Hey, you’re leaving already? Why can’t I say a few more words about your predicament?”

Xing Zhongwan walked out of the partitioned lounge irritably. Before he took a few more steps, a hot young lady approached him. After bumping into him, a pair of soft and lithe hands seemed to inadvertently stroke his cheeks. Her bright red lips were brought close to his ears, “Hey cutie, do you want to have some fun?“

Xing Zhongwan raised his brows, and the corners of his mouth twitched slightly, “You can do whatever you want.”

In the dim bathroom, the woman’s dirty-blond hair bobbed on top of Xing Zhongwan’s c-ck. Xing Zhongwan held a cigarette between his mouth and pressed his hands into the woman’s head, “Go deeper.”

There was some intonation in his voice, but his eyes were glassy.

As the woman began to take off her tight-fitting top impatiently, Xing Zhongwan snorted and just wanted to tease her slowly, when his phone rang.

He picked it up, “Miss Xing, things are not looking good. The third young master fainted!”

Xing Zhongwan pushed the woman away from his cr-tch and quickly pulled up his pants. The woman looked at him with dissatisfaction and wanted to slither back to his body but Xing Zhongwan took out a stack of money from his wallet and stuffed it into her short skirt before hurriedly opening the door, quickly leaving the bathroom.

He sped on the roads all the way back to the Qi’s villa. When he arrived, the doctor had just left. The doctor greeted Xing Zhongwan before leaving. Did they change the doctor? Xing Zhongwan didn’t have time to think about why a different doctor had appeared. As soon as he entered the room, he was frightened by Qi Yun’s appearance. His hands were covered with gauze and he was lying on the bed as he stared blankly at the ceiling.

Xing Zhongwan walked over, his face dark and scary, “How did this happen?”

The old housekeeper standing at the door closed the door silently as she left. Xing Zhongwan’s voice just now was not much better than Qi Yun’s. If the sound of a voice could kill people, he’s one would be as sharp as a knife that can physically harm someone.

Hearing Xing Zhongwan’s voice, Qi Yun finally had some reaction. Wanwan came back.

It’s just that the prior fresh pine wood scent was mixed in with the smell of someone else’s perfume, which made Qi Yun couldn’t help but gag.

“Where have you been?” Qi Yun’s voice was cold, and the joy of Xing Zhongwan’s return was overtaken by the inexplicable smell of another’s perfume.

Xing Zhongwan drank a bit too much tonight so he was a little drunk, “You haven’t answered me yet, what happened here? Does it have anything to do with where I went? You know that I’m a man so don’t you say anything about it not being safe for girls to go out at night.”

Qi Yun really fell silent, Xing Zhongwan held his breath and sat on a chair on the side. Angry, he kicked the foot of the stool abruptly.

After a long time, Qi Yun’s voice came back again, “I’m sorry.”

Xing Zhongwan snorted coldly, “Apologizing to me… What are you sorry for? Simply apologizing to me. Doing all those ambiguous things to Laozi all day long, it’s been fun, hasn’t it, Qi Yun!?”

Qi Yun closed his eyes, his lashes trembling violently, “It wasn’t not fun, no!”

“Then what is it?!” Xing Zhongwan shouted, and the room instantly fell silent. He didn’t even know why he was so angry, Qi Yun only pretended to not know that he was a man. Just what was he so angry about? There was no good reason for his anger.

Even Xue Qing had said that they weren’t going to spend an eternity together anyway. Could it be that he was really overreacting?

Xing Zhongwan wiped his face, got up and wanted to go back to his room when he was suddenly grabbed by Qi Yun next to him. The bandaged hand that grabbed onto his clothes startled him.

“I like you!” Qi Yun’s words left Xing Zhongwan stunned and unable to move.

Qi Yun opened his bloodshot eyes, “Wanwan, I just like you, is that wrong?”

T/N: With Qi Yun acting like that, he really seems pitiful… Aiyah, Zhongwan how can you bully your hubby like that?

Qi Yun: *Puppy eye-ed Qi Yun* I just like you, is that wrong?

Zhongwan: … *internally clutching his heart, feeling extremely guilty*

Chapter 34

This topic was followed by a sentence to find Luo Fei, which made people a little imaginative. Regardless of what happened after seeing Luo Fei, Li Zhenruo now really wanted to ask Luo Fei. Of course, it would be better to meet Feng Junyuan as well.

       Today was the weekend.

But Li Zhentai and Li Zhenzi still went out early in the morning.

Li Zhentai went to pick up Wen Chun since they were going to take wedding photos, and they had to choose and book a hotel for the wedding ceremony. While Li Zhenzi might have an appointment with a beautiful woman and said that he would not be back tonight.

After breakfast, Li Zhenran carried Li Zhenruo by his collar and went outside. He did not ask for the driver and planned to drive out by himself.

Li Zhenruo scratched with his four claws in the air and let out an angry howl.

“Zhenran,” Li Jianglin stood on the crutch in the living room and suddenly stopped him.

Li Zhenran stopped and turned around, “Dad?”

Li Zhenruo also forgot to struggle, and hold up his head to look at Li Jianglin.

Li Jianglin asked him, “Is there anything you need to do in the morning?”

When Li Zhenran heard the words, he lifted Li Zhenruo up and showed him, “Taking it to the pet shop to get its hair trimmed.”

As Li Jianglin heard him say this, he acquiesced that Li Zhenran had nothing to do in the morning and said, “Come out with me.”

       Li Zhenran asked, “Just us?”

       Li Jianglin nodded, “You drive.”

Li Zhenruo felt strange and looked up at Li Zhenran. Li Zhenran had a flat expression on his face and said, “Okay, wait for me and I’ll drive over.”

Li Zhenran went to drive the car and left Li Zhenruo in the passenger seat.

The car was parked by the fountain. Li Jianglin walked over slowly, opened the passenger’s door directly, and saw the cat sitting on it.

Li Zhenran got out of the car to help him and said, “Dad, sit in the back seat, it’s more comfortable to sit up.”

Li Jianglin asked him, “Are you going to take the cat with you?”

Li Zhenran casually responded, “I’ll drop it off at the pet store later if it’s convenient.”

Li Jianglin didn’t say anything else but waved his crutch to drive Li Zhenruo away.

Li Zhenruo rushed to the back seat by himself. He looked at Li Jianglin nervously, afraid that Li Jianglin would not let Li Zhenran take him out.

However, Li Jianglin has directly bent down and sat in the passenger seat.

Li Zhenran helped to put the crutch in the back seat, returned to the driver’s seat by himself, and leaned over to help Li Jianglin fasten his seat belt.

As the car slowly drove out of the gate of Li’s house, Li Jianglin suddenly laughed and said, “Your cat is also interesting. Aren’t you afraid of it running away when you take it out like this?”

Li Zhenran said, “It’s very well behaved and won’t run away by itself.”

Li Jianglin shook his head in disapproval, “Cats are always different from dogs, cats are not well-bred.”

Li Zhenran didn’t refute him and just smiled a little.

Li Jianglin went on to say, “But if it ran away, then it ran away. It’s not worth holding it back.”

When they came out of the road in front of Li’s house and was about to enter the fork in the road, Li Zhenran asked Li Jianglin, “Dad, where are you going?”

Li Jianglin said softly, “Go to the cemetery north of the city.”

Li Zhenran didn’t ask who he was going to see, but just nodded slightly and turned the steering wheel.

Li Zhenruo didn’t feel comfortable sitting alone in the back row. Sometimes his claws couldn’t grasp the seat cushion, and he would slide to one side when the car was turning or braking suddenly. He thought that Li Jianglin must have gone to see Zhu Yun. He hadn’t come back for so long. So when he got home, he should visit his deceased wife.

At this time, there were some traffic jams out of the city. Probably because Li Jianglin was in the car, Li Zhenran drove the car very steadily. He and Li Jianglin didn’t speak much and remained silent all the way.

It took them almost two hours to reach the cemetery on the outskirts of the northern part of the city.

After parking the car in the parking lot, Li Zhenran got out of the car and took Li Jianglin’s crutch. He opened the door, then helped him out of the car and handed him the crutch.

Li Jianglin leaned on his crutch on the ground for a little while and turned to look at Li Zhenruo who had stretched his front legs out of the car. He said, “Is it going too?”

Li Zhenran responded, “It won’t run away, don’t worry.”

Li Jianglin didn’t object, but he didn’t believe that the cat would be so obedient, and wouldn’t run around without being tied to a rope.

However, because Li Jianglin was watching, Li Zhenruo was extraordinarily well-behaved today. When he saw Li Zhenran going to buy flowers, he stood beside Li Jianglin and guarded him. When Li Zhenran came back, he followed them up the mountain.

Li Jianglin was unable to move freely, so he walked very slowly. Li Zhenran was very patient and only helped him up the mountain slowly without urging.

Li Jianglin had just instructed Li Zhenran to buy two bouquets, which were now both held on Li Zhenran’s arm.

Li Zhenruo thought Li Jianglin meant one bouquet for him and one bouquet for Li Zhenran, to convey a gesture of goodwill.

Sure enough, they really walked towards Zhu Yun’s cemetery.

Li Zhenruo once came to visit Zhu Yun’s tomb. He has no feelings for Zhu Yun, and he also has no feelings for his biological mother, so he didn’t hate Zhu Yun. The brothers knew that Li Jianglin loved Zhu Yun deeply. Accompanying Li Jianglin to visit Zhu Yun’s tomb was nothing more than to please Li Jianglin.

Li Jianglin came to the front of Zhu Yun’s cemetery with the help of Li Zhenran, stood up straight and sighed deeply.

Li Zhenran handed him the flowers and after he saw Li Jianglin put down the bouquet, he also planned to put down the bouquet in his hand, but unexpectedly Li Jianglin stopped him and said, “Keep this bouquet.”

Li Zhenran paused, stood up straight and put the flower aside, without asking Li Jianglin the reason.

As he watched Li Jianglin start to reminisce in front of Zhu Yun’s tombstone, Li Zhenruo took a few steps to the side. He looked at the hillside with many tombstones in the distance and wondered if one of them was his tomb. After all, the Li family did not disclose his identity. Naturally, they were the ones who managed his corpse.

Li Zhenruo was in a complicated mood. After a while, Li Zhenran lightly kicked his behind and said, “Let’s go.”

Only then did he look up in dismay and saw that Li Zhenran was already supporting Li Jianglin and planning to leave.

Li Jianglin looked down at Li Zhenruo and let out a laugh.

Li Zhenruo hurriedly followed Li Zhenran’s feet to leave. Only then did he notice that he was still holding a bunch of flowers in his hand.

Who are you going to see? Li Zhenruo was slightly taken aback.

While walking, Li Jianglin said to Li Zhenran, “Sometimes people take some things too seriously, and it’s not really that necessary.”

Li Zhenran heard the words, nodded and replied, “Yes.”

Li Jianglin sighed heavily as if he wanted to say something, but then he didn’t say it.

Li Zhenruo was a little dazed. He followed Li Zhenran’s feet and nearly hit Li Zhenran’s leg several times. He vaguely felt that Li Jianglin might want to visit someone, but he didn’t dare to hold too many expectations. Because the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment will be.

But when Li Jianglin and Li Zhenran stood in front of a tombstone, he held his breath before he dared to raise his head to look at the name on the tombstone.

       That was his tombstone.

Li Zhenruo, who was only twenty-three years old when he died, had grown up a very privileged person but died in his most beautiful time.

In the photo on the tombstone, Li Zhenruo looked young and handsome with a slight smile on the corner of his mouth. He began to recall how he felt when he took this photo as if it was an ID photo he took when he had just come back from college to apply for his ID. At that time, life seemed to be full of countless hopes, and in a blink of an eye, there was nothing left.

Li Jianglin stood in front of the tombstone and let out a long sigh.

Li Zhenruo couldn’t help but raised his head to look at him.

Li Jianglin shook his head. Li Zhenruo looked at his expression carefully, but couldn’t see any more emotions. If he had to say it, he would probably have some regret and some sadness in his eyes.

Even if it wasn’t his own, he was raised as a son by his side, so he definitely wouldn’t be completely emotionless.

Li Zhenruo felt that he should thank Li Jianglin who was willing to remember such an old sentiment and come to offer him a bouquet of flowers.

Li Zhenran just stretched out his hand and placed the flower in front of the tombstone, and said nothing.

This was a very sensitive topic. No one could tell whether Li Jianglin cares more about Li Zhenruo’s identity or misses this unrelated son.

He was willing to let Li Zhenran accompany him today. In some sense, he had already spent some of his attention on Li Zhenran. Probably in his heart, this son was somewhat different from the other two.

In any case, he wondered if Li Jianglin was actually clear about his real cause of death?

In the Li family, Li Zhenran, Li Zhenzi, including Zhu Kai, who was not from the Li family, all suspected that the cause of Li Zhenruo’s death was unusual. How could someone as smart as Li Jianglin not have any doubts at all?

Whether he did not care about Li Zhenruo’s death at all or he did know something but had other plans. Li Zhenruo found that he couldn’t guess at all, and he thought he needed more clues. He wanted to know who it was and why they were so cruel to him!

A cat’s paw was stealthily settled on the tomb lid. And underneath the paw was his own ashes, but he could no longer feel anything.

When he left, Li Zhenran supported Li Jianglin and walked a few steps, and when he noticed that his cat was not following, he turned around to look.

At this time, Li Zhenruo was still staring at his tombstone in a daze.

“Dumpling, let’s go,” Li Zhenran called to him before he turned around and ran two steps to catch up with Li Zhenran.

They left the cemetery without staying outside and drove directly back to Li’s house. It was almost noon when they returned, and it was just in time for lunch.

Back at home, Li Zhenruo found out that Li Zhentai and Wen Chun come over. They wanted to discuss the wedding with Li Jianglin.

Li Zhentai heard the sound of the car and came out to escort Li Jianglin. As he saw that Li Zhenran was driving alone with Li Jianglin, instantly his face changed in a way that he couldn’t even conceal.

Li Zhenruo guessed that he must be very unhappy.

However, Li Zhentai was still sensible. He quickly helped Li Jianglin back to the living room with a smile and told him that he and Wen Chun were here to ask about the wedding, hoping to get some advice from Li Jianglin.

Now, this was what Li Jianglin cared about most.

Just after lunch, Li Zhenran answered a phone call, and Li Zhenruo leaned in to listen. It was like a call from Hua Yibang, and it should be something about the company.

Sure enough, after hanging up the phone, Li Zhenran told Li Zhenruo that he had to go out in the afternoon and could not accompany Li Zhenruo to find Luo Fei.

Li Zhenruo’s round eyes drooped down instantly.

At this time, they had returned to Li Zhenran’s room. Li Zhenran originally said that they would go out after he took a nap.

Li Zhenruo was extremely disappointed. When Li Zhenran reached out to touch his head, he turned his head in disgust, and slowly dragged his tail off the bed, wanting to leave.

Li Zhenran looked at his posture, perhaps he felt he couldn’t bear it, and said, “Wait a minute, I’ll call Luo Fei.”

So Li Zhenruo hurriedly stopped in his tracks again, holding out some hope that there would be room for a turnaround.

This call took a long time. Li Zhenruo heard Li Zhenran seemed a bit reluctant and kept asking Luo Fei, “Is it alright? There won’t be anything, right?”

Luo Fei also seemed to have been giving him assurances.

Later, after hanging up the phone, Li Zhenran said to him, “I asked Luo Fei. He gave me Dr. Feng’s contact information and told me to send you to Dr. Feng’s place.”

       Li Zhenruo’s eyes widened.

Li Zhenran glanced at the time and said to him, “I’ll pick you up when things are over in the afternoon.”

       Li Zhenruo nodded obediently.

Li Zhenran hooked his fingers, “Come here.”

       Li Zhenruo ran over immediately.

Li Zhenran grabbed his face, “If I don’t see you this afternoon, you will bear the consequences yourself.”

He was grabbing very hard. Li Zhenruo raised his paw to push his hand but couldn’t push it away, so he kept nodding to show that he understood.

After a while, Li Zhenran asked the driver to drive them out. Before going to the company, he took a detour to take Li Zhenruo to Feng Junyuan.

Feng Junyuan’s hospital was an affiliated hospital of a medical university, located in the city centre. The hospital was very famous and usually has a lot of patients. The driver was stopped by the traffic police before he drove near the hospital and was not allowed to continue.

Li Zhenran carried Li Zhenruo out of the car and planned to walk over directly.

Sometimes Li Zhenruo would rather Li Zhenran tie a rope to him like a dog and lead him, rather than always carry him by the collar. It will be painful to death if he walked a little far. He began to struggle hard, and Li Zhenran hugged him in his arms.

They walked to the hospital’s entrance. Li Zhenran called Feng Junyuan and was told to wait for him under the surgical building.

A nurse passed by and saw him hug a cat and said, “This is not a pet hospital.”

Li Zhenran said, “I’m not taking it to a doctor.”

The nurse asked, “Then why are you bringing a cat?”

Li Zhenran asked her, “Am I not allowed to bring my family?”

The nurse was speechless for a while, then looked at him inexplicably and left.

Li Zhenruo recalled the look in the nurse’s eyes, probably wanting to express: I won’t bother you because you are handsome. If you look ugly, I will definitely kick you out.

After waiting for a few minutes, Li Zhenruo saw Feng Junyuan, who was wearing a white coat and a stethoscope around his neck, appeared at the door of the surgical building.

When he saw Li Zhenran, he quickened his pace and hurried over. He greeted, “Mr. Li.”

Li Zhenran was very polite to Feng Junyuan, “Doctor Feng, I’m sorry to cause you trouble.”

Feng Junyuan seemed to want to laugh, but only raised the corner of his mouth, and said, “No problem, leave him to me.”

Li Zhenran looked down at Li Zhenruo, who was in his arms, without speaking, with a warning in his eyes.

Li Zhenruo suddenly felt that Li Zhenran’s nervous appearance was cute. He didn’t know what he was thinking, so he suddenly jumped up and kissed Li Zhenran’s lips.

Li Zhenran was also slightly startled by his action.

Li Zhenruo felt embarrassed, turned around and jumped on Feng Junyuan, who caught him with his hand.

Li Zhenran then said, “I’ll come and pick it up this afternoon.”

Feng Junyuan nodded, “Give me a call.”

Li Zhenran waved to them and turned to leave.

Li Zhenruo kept looking at his back until Feng Junyuan carried him towards the outside of the hospital. He felt a little strange and raised his head to look at Feng Junyuan.

Feng Junyuan said as he walked, “You really have changed back to your original form.”

Li Zhenruo couldn’t communicate with him, and it was suffocating.

Feng Junyuan said again, “I’ll take you to Song Jun now.”

Li Zhenruo didn’t know where Song Jun was. In fact, until now, he didn’t know who Song Jun was. He just heard Feng Junyuan always talk about him. In Li Zhenruo’s mind, this Song Jun must be a very powerful and high-level person.

However, within ten minutes, Li Zhenruo was carried by Feng Junyuan out of the hospital into the back door of a school. He heard Feng Junyuan call the person named Song Jun, and then he saw a man named Song Jun under a laboratory building. He was a thin young man in a white coat.

“Xiao Feng!” The young man waved to Feng Junyuan.

Feng Junyuan lowered his head slightly and said to him, “He is Song Jun.”

Li Zhenruo looked at Song Jun and found that the other party was just an ordinary young man with a clean-cut appearance and a kind demeanour, but his eyes were slightly sharp.

Feng Junyuan walked over, directly reached out and handed Li Zhenruo to Song Jun, and said, “This is the cat I mentioned to you.”

Listening to his tone, Li Zhenruo guessed he should be very familiar with Song Jun.

Song Jun lowered his head, reached out and scratched the top of Li Zhenruo’s head, with a very friendly attitude, and then said to Feng Junyuan, “I see, I will take it to senior brother1in here Song Jun is saying 师兄 which means male senior fellow students in a Chinese martial arts school.”

Feng Junyuan nodded, “Then I’ll go back to the hospital first. I have an operation this afternoon.”

       Song Jun waved to him.

As he watched Feng Junyuan leave, Song Jun hugged Li Zhenruo a little higher, looked at his face, and said strangely, “What kind of cat is this? It looks so strange, Persian cat?”

Li Zhenruo could only flatten his mouth, expressing that he had no way to tell him.

Song Jun didn’t mind if he didn’t get an answer. He walked into the building with Li Zhenruo in his arms, and said, “Let’s go find senior brother.”

Notes:
Honestly in this part where Li Jiangling visited Li Zhenruo I feel really sad because maybe Li Jianglin does love Zhenruo but just not in the form that Zhenruo expected and maybe in the previous chapter where Zhenruo saw a sign of distress in Li Jianglin and thought it was just because Li Jianglin was afraid of hitman is really him feeling distressed because he lost Zhenruo.
At least he now knows that ‘his’ dad cares about him.

Chapter 10 – Going to the military base

Chapter 10 – Going to the military base

Teacher Wang saw this and was a little proud: “Big brother, I advise you not to give up.”

Jian Luo took out a tissue from his pocket and wiped his younger brother’s face, his voice was a little lower: “Mrs. Wang.”

Teacher Wang was taken aback: “What?”

“We have a saying on Ancient Earth. You’re a teacher, but I don’t know if you have heard of it.” Jian Luo looked straight at the woman with a smile on his delicate face.

Teacher Wang pursed her lips: “What?”

Jian Luo lightly opened his thin lips and said word by word, “Only dogs look down on people.”

Teacher Wang was stunned for a while. She took a long time to understand the meaning of this sentence, but after, her face turned white immediately: “You!”

“Aren’t you here to go through with the formalities for expulsion?” Jian Luo raised his eyelids and looked at her: “Stop talking nonsense and do it quickly, I’m in a hurry.”

Teacher Wang’s chest heaved up and down angrily: “Don’t regret it!”

There was a bright smile on Jian Luo’s face: “Oh, I’m so scared.”

“…”

Where has Teacher Wang encountered such a person before? Due to Jian Luo, her chest was about to explode from anger.

She took out the form with hatred and waited to see Jian Luo’s reaction when she received the money. Who knew that Jian Luo’s card would directly send the credits to her account?

When handing back the agreement, Jian Luo said slowly: “Mrs. Wang, thanks to you for coming here, otherwise we wouldn’t have known how long Jian Sheng had to stay with you. Tsk, luckily we found out early!”

Teacher Wang’s face became twisted for a moment. She raised her hand and was about to hit someone, but as soon as she raised her hand, Jian Luo grabbed it. The entire face of the gentle and harmless young man turned dark. He turned his head down slightly, as the corners of his mouth turned into a grin, lowering his voice: “I have installed surveillance in this whole yard.”

Teacher Wang was taken aback.

“If you dare to do it,” Jian Luo’s smile deepened: “I will post it on the Lightweb to promote the school?”

Teacher Wang’s heart sank. She swung her hand away and Jian Luo let go of her. As a result, she stumbled back a few steps because of her unsteady center of gravity. She just stepped on some pebbles and fell, embarrassed: “Ah!”

Jian Luo looked at her condescendingly: “Oh, why is teacher so careless?”

Teacher Wang pointed at him: “Did you know that there were pebbles here and did this on purpose?”

“How can I do that when you were the one who swung your hand?” Jian Luo’s delicate little face was filled with doubt: “Oh, shouldn’t Teacher Wang also expel me?”

Teacher Wang’s face turned blue and white.

Jian Luo was actually also a student but he was not in the same class as Jian Sheng. He had applied for sick leave because of his injury.

Teacher Wang, who was reminded of this, said: “You dare to be so disrespectful. You are really uneducated. Immediately kneel down and apologize to me! Otherwise, I will definitely report this to the higher ups to expel you.”

Jian Luo wanted to be expelled. He took a few steps forward to help Teacher Wang up with a respectful attitude: “Mrs. Wang, it hurts to fall down. To tell you the truth, I really didn’t mean it…”

Teacher Wang snorted softly.

The submissive expression on Jian Luo’s face gradually turned cold and he whispered in her ear, “I did it on purpose.”

He pushed her harshly out of the door. Teacher Wang was stunned and wanted to jump up but the door slammed shut, hitting her in the nose. She didn’t speak for a while.

Looking at the house number angrily, she yelled: “Lunatics!”

The door was closed and the yard regained its tranquility. Jian Luo dusted off his hands.

His younger brother came over: “Brother.”

Jian Luo touched his head: “Huh?”

“What do I tell mother when she comes back?” His younger brother lowered his head and was very worried: “She really wants us to study.”

Only those who have been educated and obtained a diploma can enter the cultivation base to farm, otherwise they can only do some hard labour.

For human beings, it was a great honor to be able to cultivate vegetables.

Jian Luo said, “Do you want to farm?”

His younger brother slowly shook his head: “I don’t want to.”

“Then, what do you want to do?” Jian Luo was suddenly curious.

The younger brother was silent for a while, then said, “I want to be a soldier to protect my mother and protect my brother.”

Jian Luo moved for a while, and he smiled slightly: “Let’s talk about that when you grow up, now your big brother will protect you.”

People are always very excited when bragging.

When I started to do the right thing, I was stunned.

Jian Luo found that there was only 1.5w left in his account. Originally, there was 3.5w. The military gave 3w for a cooked meal, and the remaining 5,000 was from selling potato chips and popcorn. He Xin From his hard work, he only earned 5,000, while the military paid the bulk of his money.

If you look at it this way-

The military was really rich!

Although the live broadcast can also make a living, his younger brother needed 500000 credits urgently in order to go to school, plus his mother was working hard in unsafe conditions on the farm.

Just as he was thinking about it, a notification sound came from his information bracelet. Jian Luo opened it to check:

Jiang Jiang: “Luoluo, hurry up and watch the Lightweb.”

Jian Luo was stunned by his enthusiasm, so he decisively clicked on the information page of the Lightweb and saw the biggest trending search above:

#new potato chips dopamine#

There was a message posted by a guy named Lorne:

“According to the research, the new recipe of potato does not contain elements that can directly harm the body. It is, however, rich in iron factors, which help to promote the secretion of dopamine.”

The person spoke neatly and looked very official and just, but Jian Luo did not recognize who he was.

But the following Dark Star comments were not exactly responses but:

“High Priest!”

“The high priest is right!”

“What are potato chips? I’ll go buy them now!”

Of course, when netizens were seething, they did not forget that anchor of the Interstellar Food Network. After all, that person was the one who took the lead in saying that there was a problem with potato chips.

Dark Stars have always hated being lied to, so most of them went to the inconvenience and insult the blogger who issued the statement:

“Please give us an explanation.”

“To be honest, I used to think he was very professional, but now he’s nothing like that!”

“Interstellar Food Network is not going to give an explanation?”

“This website is so disappointing, forget it, I’ll download Jinjiang.”

The power of the web is already great, but the fact that the high priest was suddenly included in this incident made people who weren’t paying attention take notice.

The number of fans the High Priest has is huge:

“Although I don’t know what potato chips are, I will definitely support them.”

“Jinjiang Live Network, I’ll just download it.”

“Potato chips are really delicious, and the anchor’s other delicacies are also delicious!”

In the end, this matter was reversed. Jinjiang Live Broadcasting Network received the largest traffic it has gotten since the establishment of the site. Not only were there many audiences, but many anchors as well.

When the netizens crusaded against Jianluo one-sidedly, the website did not withdraw the anchor to prevent disasters. Instead, it stood up and dared to act to shelter its anchor. As such, it became so popular that many anchors chose to join Jinjiang.

“Bang!”

The atmosphere in the conference room of Interstellar Live Network was grim.

The supervisor paced back and forth angrily: “How did they manage to invite the priest?”

Several moderators were sitting together, and someone said, “We found that it was the same person who helped send it to the procuratorate for inspection.”

The supervisor slammed the table: “Who was it!?”

He was furious and wanted to settle the score after the commotion died down. After all, they were familiar with the people at the procuratorate and had already agreed to not accept Jinjiang’s submission for inspection. Who was so capable to hand it in anyway?

The moderator coughed lightly: “The military.”

The supervisor couldn’t believe it: “Who?”

“Lu Shifeng.”

The room was suddenly so quiet that you could hear a needle falling.

The other side

Jian Luo received a message from Jiang Jiang.

Jiang Jiang sent him a message: “I really can’t believe that the military really sent the potato chips to the inspection center. They even invited the high priest.”

Jian Luo said, “The military has really helped a lot.”

“Yeah.” Jiang Jiang also comforted him: “But in the next two days, you should refrain from live broadcasting for the time being and let the public opinion on the web settle down first.”

Jian Luo: “Okay.”

It could be said that this became a big deal.

Jian Luo thought about thanking the high priest and the military who helped him, but for now he asked the Lightbrain to help him check up on the transfer. The Lightbrain replied.

Lightbrain: “For students to transfer schools, the adults in their families need legitimate occupations.”

Jian Luo said, “My mother has one.”

“But you’ve been expelled. Now you are an unemployed person.” Lightbrain beat him down ruthlessly: “You are considered an adult now, but your work as a food anchor is not recorded as a legitimate occupation.”

? ? ?

Occupational discrimination, reported.

If this was the case, it may cause his younger brother to be unable to go to school. After Su Liang came back, he knew that this matter would definitely cause her to panic.

Just as Jian Luo was thinking, his information bracelet rang again. He opened it and it was Ai Jin who was calling him: “Mr. Jian, what do you think?”

Jian Luo was about to ask her: “I heard Jiang Jiang said that you helped me with the inspection?”

Ai Jin said quickly: “It was nothing.”

“Thank you.” After this incident, Jian Luo had a good impression of the military: “Are you talking about food delivery?”

Ai Jin said: “Yes, yes. What have you decided? The conditions can be negotiated.”

The people from the military seemed to be able to negotiate well. Jian Luo has a really bad impression of the Dark Star from people like Teacher Wang and the moderator. He feels disgusted whenever he sees them but people from the military are different. They were polite and didn’t even use forceful methods to force him, waiting patiently for him to think about it, even helping him so much.

Thinking of this, Jian Luo said, “I’ve thought about it, and I’m willing to accept your offer.”

Ai Jin was overjoyed: “Thank you so much, let’s make an appointment to meet. I’ll be waiting for you at my military center in Sky City!”

Jian Luo thought for a while, and finally agreed: “Okay, I’ll be there tomorrow.”

Chapter 9 – How did you get the military involved?

Chapter 9 – How did you get the military involved?

Lu Shifeng’s fingertips were pointed slightly as the corner of his mouth held an indifferent smile: “Give me his information.”

Secretary Jin was suspicious: “What do you mean?”

The last time the marshal asked for a person’s information, nobody knew where even their ashes went. Who knew you were this quick to anger, marshal!?

Lu Shifeng said, “Do you like to eat what he makes?”

Secretary Jin was stunned for a moment, but nodded honestly in the end: “Yes.”

“Remember why we accepted humans into the Dark Star in the first place?”

Lu Shifeng picked up the clear glass of water on the table and took a sip. Whether it was the white jade-like glass or a gun, they both complemented his hands well. When the man was settled down, he looked like an elegant noble.

Secretary Jin recalled: “Because we found that human vegetables and fruits help to stabilize the emotions of Dark Stars and helped the brain secrete dopamine.”

As we all know, dopamine was a molecule that made people feel good.

And the Dark Stars were inherently lacking in this part. To be more specific – they couldn’t make themselves happy.

Although the whole universe knew that the Dark Stars were brave and good at fighting, as well as smart, and that they are the leaders in all aspects, they also found that the Dark Stars seem to be shrouded in a depressing atmosphere all the year round.

The arrival of mankind broke this deadlock.

Some of them quickly discovered that eating vegetables and fruits can make one’s mood good.

Lu Shifeng put down the glass: “Hundreds of years have passed, and the efficacy of vegetables has been declining.”

“Yes.” Secretary Jin sighed: “Dopamine requires stimulation to be secreted, but with the same kinds of vegetables all year round, everyone will definitely get tired. In the past, the soldiers in our army were under great fighting pressure and it was often difficult to resolve their issues after returning from a bloodbath. When I first ate fruit, my mental state was fine, but it has gradually become worse over the years.”

Lu Shifeng raised his eyelids and the pair of phoenix1Sharp and pretty shape according to asian aesthetics. eyes were full of thought: “What about French fries?”

Secretary Jin was stunned.

Yes, she found that she was in a hyperactive mood for almost a period of time after tasting the fries, which is a sign of a rise in dopamine.

“You mean to say…”

Lu Shifeng tapped his fingertips slightly: “If I guessed correctly, his live broadcast response must be very good.”

Secretary Jin responded: “I heard that it seemed really good.”

If the newly developed dishes can really stimulate the secretion of dopamine better, then naturally it can get stagnant water to flow again.

Lu Shifeng said, “Give me his information.”

After Secretary Jin figured it out, she immediately said, “Yes!”

Peace Paradise

The season at the moment was summer. If the Sky City above was like a prosperous modern society, then the green trees and small bridges in Peace Paradise resembled the carefree ancient times.

Jian Luo hung a small hammock in front of his small yard, and sat on it to sketch.

His younger brother came over: “Brother, what are you doing?”

“Painting our future home.” Jian Luo bit the pen cover: “Our house is too small, we have to buy a new house in the future.”

His younger brother came over to take a look and lowered his eyes: “We can’t buy one.”

Jian Luo frowned: “Why?”

His younger brother sat next to him with a fan: “Because we don’t have a household registration, we live in an assigned house. If you want to buy a new house, you need a household registration.”

Jian Luo was a little upset and sat up: “A household registration is so important.”

His younger brother nodded: “We humans work hard all our lives to get registered.”

“…”

Jian Luo recalled the requirements for settlement: First, make a special contribution to the Dark Star. Second, the total household output must reach 10 tons of vegetables per year.

He sighed softly: “10 tons of vegetables, that’s really difficult.”

His younger brother nodded: “Brother, don’t worry. After I graduate, I will come down to farm together with you and help. One day, we will achieve our wish.”

Jian Luo rubbed his head: “You don’t need to worry about adult matters.”

He couldn’t let children do the hard work. Jian Luo put down his design sketches and began to reconnect to the Lightweb to see what was going on online.

It seemed that some people were pushing for the new public opinion, which was gradually beginning to gain an intensifying amount of momentum.

“Does the anchor have no professional ethics at all now?”

“Grandstanding.”

“Strongly requesting for Jinjiang Live Network to block the anchor.”

This group of people were noisy. Jian Luo frowned. He was not in a good mood. After tossing and turning for a while, he felt a little tired.

He was going to do some farm work but as soon as his hand touched the exit button, a new message appeared on the page:

Jinjiang Literature Network’s Jiang Jiang: “In view of the recent doubts about the safety of the new recipe on the site, we have decided to send the food for quality inspection and will definitely give you a frank and open account of it. Please stop criticizing our anchors. All are malicious remarks and unproven speculation and we will take legal measures to protect our rights.”

His words were powerful and firm.

Jian Nan2His internet alias, mentioned in prev chapt. opened the private chat with Jiang Jiang: “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Jiang Jiang said, “You know, simple food like ours is normally not accepted by the inspection agency but I don’t know why the military sent someone to take it away and called for it to be sent for inspection.”

Jian Luo’s chin almost dropped: “Who do you think sent someone to take it away?!”

Jiang Jiang was startled by him: “M-military,ah. What’s wrong?”

Inexplicably, Jian Luo had a feeling of being entangled into something.

Although the other party was helping him, it felt like he had to pay a great price for the favor he owed them now.

Jiang Jiang also sensed this: “Luoluo, you are a human. How did you invite those people from the military?”

Jian Luo had no confidence: “I don’t know either.”

“Hahahaha.” Jiang Jiang was still rather naive: “Maybe it’s because the food you made was so delicious that they wanted to eat that too.”

“…”

Brother, you are very cool and humorous3Obviously sarcasm..

Jian Luo chatted with Jiang Jiang for a while, but not only did he not relax, the mood became heavier.

There was a sound from the courtyard outside. Someone was knocking on the door. He didn’t care to ask if it was Secretary Jin and ran out.

There was a knock on the door, and Jian Luo pulled his brother back: “Who is it?”

“Hello, is this Jian Sheng’s home?” An impatient voice came from outside: “I’m his teacher.”

Jian Luo looked at his brother subconsciously.

His younger brother cowered behind him as his eyes flashed clearly with unease. In fact, Jian Luo himself noticed recently that this child’s school was always on holiday breaks. He was either skipping classes or the school was going to close down.

Jian Luo knew what to do so he went to open the door.

Standing outside the door was a woman who was about 180 cm tall. She was even slightly taller than Jian Luo. She looked at Jian Luo and said, “You’re Jian Sheng’s brother.”

Jian Luo: “Yes, teacher. Please come in.”

The woman condescended before walking a few steps and coming in: “To introduce myself, my surname is Wang. I’m a Dark Star and also his class teacher. I am here to settle his withdrawal from school.”

Jian Luo was slightly surprised: “Can you tell me the specific reason?”

Teacher Wang glared at Jian Sheng: “You should’ve withdrawn him earlier. I really can’t teach this child. He even dares to fight with his classmates!”

“…”

That’s it?

Jian Luo looked down at his younger brother: “Did you hurt someone?”

“No.” His younger brother lowered his head: “I just pushed him.”

That shouldn’t be it.

Jian Luo looked up at the teacher: “Teacher, don’t you think it’s normal for children to fight each other? I say, let’s just apologize to his classmates, what do you think?”

The teacher sneered with contempt in her eyes: “You say? What’s the use? Did you know that he pushed a Dark Star, but refused to apologize?”

Jian Luo’s heart sank, knowing that this matter can’t be good.

He pulled his younger brother aside: “Tell me, what happened?”

His younger brother said, “That Dark Star stole the potato pancake you made for me.”

“…”

Jian Luo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry: “Why didn’t you tell me?”

His younger brother turned his face away stubbornly: “If you want to scold me, you can. If you want to hit me, do it. I won’t apologize anyway.”

Jian Luo looked at him quizzically.

His younger brother’s face was tensed up as his eyelashes trembled uncontrollably and his clenched little hands clearly exuded unease.

Jian Luo patted him on the shoulder: “Have some backbone!”

His younger brother was slightly surprised: “Don’t you want to scold me? I hurt a Dark Star and I may be expelled.”

“What’s the matter?” Jian Luo didn’t care: “You’re in the right, so why should I scold you? We may live on this planet, but we’re not their dogs. As a human being, you must have a backbone no matter what you do. You are very brave, you know? I’m so proud of you.”

There were some tears in his younger brother’s eyes.

Jian Luo gently touched his head: “Let’s go and talk to the teacher again.”

Teacher Wang has been waiting impatiently by the side: “Have you guys talked it out? You’re really rude. I’ll say it now, I’m here to handle his expulsion from school for him. Even if you don’t agree, it doesn’t matter. I’ve never taught such a disrespectful child before. Of course, if you still want to return to school, it’s not impossible.”

Jian Luo raised his eyebrows: “What are the conditions?”

“Apologize to the child in front of everyone.” Teacher Wang flipped her hair: “However, the school reported the assault, so you have to pay 1w stars for psychological therapy.”

Jian Luo: “Teacher…”

Teacher Wang interrupted him: “Don’t try to bargain with me about conditions, I know your family is poor, but there must be 1w.”

Jian Luo smiled and said, “No, you misunderstood.”

Teacher Wang looked at him suspiciously.

“I mean, he won’t be going to school anymore. Please go through with the transfer procedures.” Jian Luo lazily said, “After all, there is more than one school in the world, right?”

Mrs. Wang was startled. She looked at Jian Luo again and sneered: “Don’t blame me for not reminding you but our school’s tuition is already the lowest and higher institutions start at 5w just for registration, your family… “

Jian Luo’s younger brother clenched his hand.

Jian Luo looked down at him and saw two streaks of tears on the face of the stubborn child who said, “Brother, just let me apologize.”

Chapter 8 – This humans dares reject me?

Chapter 8 – This humans dares reject me?

Ai Jin prayed silently in her heart: Marshal, you mustn’t get angry at me. I have to make sure you have a hot meal to eat!

After praying, Secretary Jin began to speak righteously: “Of course, it’s our comrades-in-arms who’s ordering the meals, otherwise who did you think it was?”

Jian Luo frowned: “Is it worth ordering special meals for a soldier?”

Did she think he was an idiot?

Ai Jin opened her eyes and spouted some nonsense: “This is a reward meal. On the day of the soldiers’ training, only those who come out on top can eat it. However, we have a condition. If we were to officially work together, you may need to come over to deliver us the meals in person instead of only providing a virtual taste. Of course, for the inconvenience, a salary to your satisfaction can be provided.”

Jian Luo calmly said, “Please allow me to think about it.”

Ai Jin was a little anxious but she also knew that she couldn’t be too hasty, so she could only give Jian Luo a few days to think about it.

At the same time – The Dark Starlight Network

An existence similar to the ancient earth’s Weibo1Google or Yahoo, more like Yahoo tbh., high on the hot search topics:

#fried potato chips#

This trending search term started to rise slowly from when Jian Luo’s live broadcast began. Now, at the end of the live broadcast, more and more people have tasted potato chips and the popularity has not decreased but increased.

A food blogger, BigvFlashy, posted a comment:

“This is the most daring innovation using vegetables that I have ever eaten. Cooked with oil, it is not greasy but refreshing. The potato chips are sweet and crispy in the mouth. The oil completely stimulates the deliciousness hidden in the potatoes, and is very addicting. Comparable to an experience in a five-star hotel.”

There were also comments below:

“Is it so mysterious?”

“Isn’t he just a human being?”

“Looks like he’s just tooting someone’s horn.”

At this time, someone pointed out the site where they could try it by just downloading Jinjiang Live.com, you can taste 10 pieces for free.

Dark Star people have a characteristic, they are very proactive and after identifying something, they must find a way to prove that they are right. Many people adhered to the principle of “I must not fall for this evil” and angrily downloaded the app.

A while later, the public opinion on the web began to change:

“God, it’s so delicious.”

“Potatoes are my favorite.”

“I don’t want to eat meat anymore.”

However, the Dark Star people soon encountered a problem. Generally speaking, once other food bloggers have successfully developed food, they will make it open for purchase but Jian Luo does not do this and he prefers to sell his food in limited quantities.

Even Jiang Jiang chatted with him privately: “Luoluo, why don’t you open up a shop to make money?”

Seeing the message, Jian Luo replied: “Brother Jiang, I have announced it on the homepage. If they want to buy it, it will be available during the next live broadcast and it will be put online for half an hour.”

Jiang Jiang: “Cough, I didn’t think that you’d come up with this gimmick.”

Jian Luo smiled: “Since long ago, the affection of the public can’t be easily maintained unless there is a gimmick to it.”

Everything went well on their side, but the group of people on the other side couldn’t sit still. Naturally, these people were from the largest food network in the universe.

The colleague bit on the potato chips: “The creator of the chips seems to be on fire.”

The moderators came over to take a look and sure enough, he saw a group of people promoting the chips on the Lightweb. The momentum was even greater than the previous french fries.

Normally, the overall viewers online on their website should be around 1 million, but today, especially when Jian Luo was broadcasting live, the overall viewers online was only 800,000.

Especially now that the whole network seems to be talking about potato chips, it has invited a large number of users onto Jinjiang Live Broadcasting Network, which poses a serious threat to them.

The supervisor said, “Go and dig up that anchor!”

The moderator made a dark face and decided to tell the truth after a long silence: “Actually, he came over to try to sign a contract before but it seems that he gave up because he was not satisfied with the profit ratio.”

“What?!” The supervisor understood the ins and outs of the matter and was also a little angry: “He is a mere human and he thinks too much.”

The moderator said: “But his food is really good and it seems that the public response was also excellent. I heard that Jinjiang gave him 7 to 3. It is difficult for us to give him such a ratio and after the last time, it’s unlikely he’ll sign with us.”

The moderator sat in the chair and pondered for a moment. After a while, the corner of his mouth twitched into a smile: “If he refuses to terminate the contract with Jinjiang, then we will force him to stop live broadcasting and agree to it.”

A strange atmosphere spread in the office.

The moderator sighed: “Boss, he’s just a human…”

“Bang!”

The supervisor slammed the table and looked at the moderator with hatred: “Do you know who the founder of Jinjiang is? It’s Jiang An. He thinks that he can start his own business after leaving us, what a fool’s dream!”

The moderator was taken aback.

He did not expect the boss of Jinjiang to be Jiang An.

That excellent employee was powerful, but was framed by his own supervisor’s ploy.

The supervisor sneered with a vicious light in his eyes and waved to the moderator: “Come here and do as I say…”

The next day

The weather was very good and the sun was shining brightly, but no light entered the room. The small house was still narrow and had no ventilation. Jian Luo lay on the bed thinking about moving away soon.

Su Liang’s voice came from outside: “Luoluo, mother is going to work. There are vegetables in the pot to eat.”

Jian Luo responded: “Okay.”

It has been his habit to stay in bed in the morning for many years. Now, he turned over in bed and turned on his Lightbrain and refreshed the latest food news but saw a message sent to him by Jiang Jiang: “Luoluo, have you looked at Guangwang.com. yet?”

Jian Luo didn’t even know what he was talking about: “I didn’t see it yet.”

“There is a big research blogger from the Interstellar Food Network who pointed out that the food you made has elements that are harmful to the body.” Jiang Jiang was very anxious: “Go and have a look.”

Harmed the body?

What a joke. If it said that the fried food on ancient earth was really unhealthy because of various additives in it, he would have acknowledged it.

But this fvcking pure natural fried potato chips was dangerous, you say?

Jian Luo frowned and said to Lightbrain, “Help me open up the Lightweb.”

Lightbrain thoughtfully opened the website page for him, and sure enough, it was a hot search topic on the top:

#Potato chips harm the body#

The one who pointed out this problem was another well-known anchor. He is different from the previous food anchors. Everyone else makes food but he is responsible for tasting the food and doing promotions for others. This anchor’s reputation is not small. Whatever he says carried some weight:

Ling Ran v: “Rigorous testing shows that potatoes cannot be fried as fried food can cause colon cancer and seriously affect health.”

A diagram of the study was attached below his comment.

Jian Luo was stunned. Earthlings have grown up snacking on fried food and no one has ever gotten cancer from eating these snacks, so let alone these strong aliens?

The following comments were also quite extreme:

“I just said it was not okay to mess around.”

“The process of the anchor’s cooking looks very dangerous.”

“What’s delicious is delicious, but it is more important to cherish life.”

Many extreme users went to report the website and even asked Jinjiang Live Network to give an explanation. For a time, potato chips fell into a storm of diminishing public opinion.

Jian Luo felt a little speechless.

Jiang Jiang sent him a message: “Luoluo, don’t be afraid. I believe in you. You will never make poisonous food to sell, I firmly believe that.”

Jian Luo smiled: “Brother Jiang, send the potato chips for inspection. I’m not afraid.”

Jiang Jiang sighed: “I also had this idea but those people on the Internet are reacting so wildly these days so just stop live broadcasting for two days. Also, you should not contact those outsiders for the time being. Don’t worry, I figured out a way to solve this.”

Jian Luo took some time to look at the ratings of the website. Because of the chips, many people maliciously gave low ratings, causing the good ratings accumulated by the website from the first two days to plummet.

He was not a fool.

Was there any way this was accidental?

Jian Luo frowned and at the same time he received Ai Jin’s greeting: “Hello, have you thought about it?”

Ai Jin’s heart was bitter!

The marshal didn’t receive a meal yesterday and was in a bad mood! As such, her workload was doubled!

Jian Luo is also in a bad mood now. So after encountering this problem, he used it as a reason to reject Ai Jin, asking: “Do you still want to cooperate with me? The web just exposed that my cooking may harm the body. For humanitarian reasons, I suggest you think twice.”

Ai Jin was taken aback: “What?”

Jian Luo suggested that she check the Lightweb herself. After all, he was not in a good mood now, and definitely not in the mood to talk to others.

“Beep.”2The call was ended abruptly.

A message alert sounded on her desktop.

Secretary Jin stood up quickly: “The marshal called me to see him.”

The little adjutant looked at her sympathetically: “Have a safe journey.”

“…”

It’s better if you don’t talk.

Secretary Jin went to the training ground in an uneasy mood. At the center of the patrol field, there stood a man with a gun in his hand. With the sound of the gunshot, the target on the opposite side fell down. There was an invisible aura on his body when the man hit the enemy. The entire training ground seemed to be enveloped by a chill.

Secretary Jin obediently said, “Marshal.”

Lu Shifeng stopped after the last bullet. He turned his face and said, “Remember what I told you?”

Secretary Jin cried: “There is a small problem with this matter.”

“Really?” Lu Shifeng took the towel from the shelf next to him and moved gracefully: “The army doesn’t support idlers. I thought Secretary Jin’s job was to deal with problems?”

Secretary Jin had chills on her back and quickly said, “This matter came up suddenly but you can rest assured that I will deal with it as soon as possible.”

“Em.”

Lu Shifeng walked to the chair on the side and sat down, displaying a rare concern: “What happened?”

Secretary Jin could finally assign the blame to someone else. She quickly explained her issue with the web, including the problems that Jian Luo is currently encountering. Although she did not dare to garnish with unneeded details, it was okay to add some spice to the story.

After Lu Shifeng listened quietly, his thin lips parted slightly: “He still refuses to cooperate with us?”

Secretary Jin didn’t expect the marshal’s focus to be here. Oh no, she would never sell out her beloved comrade. Her heart went into full panic.

It was not a good thing to be concerned by this demon lord!

Chapter 7 – Lu Shifeng is a soldier

Chapter 7 – Lu Shifeng is a soldier

Secretary Jin was frozen.

The little adjutant turned around stiffly. Seeing Lu Shifeng standing at the door, his entire body shivered as he cast a pitying look at Secretary Jin.

Secretary Jin felt that she had encountered the biggest crisis in the workplace in her lifetime: “Mar-Marshal.”

“Yeah.” Lu Shifeng came over. His pace was extremely slow, but he felt very oppressive. His every step felt like it was stepping on top of one’s heart.

Secretary Jin and the little adjutant were rumored to be famous people, but at the moment, in front of Lu Shifeng, they were as well-behaved as quails.

Lu Shifeng went to the table and squeezed some french fries into his large knuckled hand.

Secretary Jin held it up, brown-nosedly: “Please eat.”

“This was given to you by that human being alone.” Lu Shifeng’s voice was low and magnetic: “How can one’s handsome self gain his favour?”

Secretary Jin bit the bullet: “You are joking. Everything in the entire military is your’s.”

Lu Shifeng raised his eyebrows noncommittally but did not touch the fries. He put the box back into Secretary Jin’s hand and his fingertips were cold. His handsome profile was sharp and dangerous when the man said quietly, “Let that human continue to bring the meals.”

After he finished speaking, he turned and left.

After a while, Secretary Jin dumfoundedly held the fries: “What does the marshal mean?”

The little adjutant took the opportunity to steal a piece of french fries to eat: “It seems that he is very satisfied with the food. It’s surprising. You tell me. He is indifferent towards the Dark Star chefs, but an unknown blogger in a small place managed to win his great approval.”

Secretary Jin thought of the rice bowl: “He really is special.”

The little adjutant continued to steal the fries: “Since you can contact him, can you get me some fries too?”

“Slap!”

Secretary Jin slapped the little adjutant’s restless hands: “If you dare to steal my food again, I’ll lop off your head.”

“…”

The little adjutant: Uwa.

The next day

Today was Jian Luo’s big day. Jiang Jiang has contracted to use the projection screens in the central square. It was a day where he could only succeed and not fail.

Before the live broadcast, Jiang Jiang talked endlessly: “Don’t be nervous, just keep your composure.”

Jian Luo: “En.”

“You really don’t need to be nervous.” Jiang Jiang added: “Just like before, loosen yourself.”

Jian Luo was expressionless: “I’m not nervous.”

Jiang Jiang quickly replied to him: “How can you not be nervous!? You must be pretending to be strong for such a big event today!?”

Jian Luo had no choice but to act perfunctory: “Oh, I’m so nervous.”

Jiang Jiang comforted him: “Don’t be nervous, don’t be nervous. Just treat it like a normal live broadcast!”

“…”

Was his partner a bit retarded?

To be honest, Jian Luo was really not nervous. After all, it was not his first time becoming an anchor.

What big scenario has he never seen before?

Time passed slowly as he entered the kitchen and waited for the live broadcast to start. When the small ball let out a “di”, the official live broadcast started.

Jian Luo didn’t show his face and just waved at the screen: “Hello everyone. I’m Luoluo, the anchor of Jinjiang Food Network. Today, let’s make a snack called potato chips.”

The Central Shopping Mall was one of the most prosperous areas in Sky City, with at least tens of thousands of Dark Stars passing by every day.

When a food anchor appeared on the big screen, no one cared at first.

Jian Luo picked up the potato: “According to a classic rule, I’ll be using this knife to open up the potato today.”

Although he was being cast on the big screen, his live broadcast room can still be seen from Jinjiang live broadcast. Many people saw his live broadcast and entered the room quickly:

“Popcorn popcorn!”

“My God, the popcorn was so delicious.”

“Anchor, we don’t want to watch potatoes. We want to eat popcorn~”

Jian Luo glanced at the barrage, not knowing whether to laugh or cry: “Be good. Let’s eat French fries today and not popcorn.”

Most of them were not content.

Dark Stars were stubborn. The more they couldn’t get something, the more they wanted it. Jian Luo didn’t open a shop for the purchase of popcorn. It was different if they hadn’t tried it yet, but to let them try only a few kernels and yearn, it made their hearts fill up with an unbearable emotion:

You devious little demon!

Jian Luo no longer watched the barrage but began to focus on his work. The potato chips were not difficult to make, but they tested one’s skill with the knife. They must be cut thinly or else they won’t be crispy and delicious when they are fried.

After peeling the skin of the potato and putting it on the chopping board, Jian Luo started slicing: “Everyone pay attention. If you make these at home, you must be careful with your hands, otherwise you will be easily injured.”

“Why cut them?”

“Just boil the potatoes and eat them.”

“Does this anchor understand what he is doing?”

People on the website could still express their opinions, but those who watched it in the square could only suffer in silence. When they raise their heads, they can see the live broadcast content, but they cannot express their opinions or interact with the anchor.

Everyone didn’t pay attention at first. But this was akin to normally walking on the road but suddenly seeing someone beside you walking backwards. Wouldn’t that be weird?

Therefore, to them, this potato slicer was very strange.

The unique character that was Jian Luo picked up the knife and cut the potatoes with a clack: “The thinner it is, the better and more fragrant it will be when fried.”

The sharp knife in his hand was like a toy and the large chunk of potato was cut as thin as wings when Jian Luo picked up the knife and dropped it skillfully on the potato.

“fvck, what kind of swordsmanship does this guy have?”

“Are you from the army?”

“That’s scary. Cutting vegetables is like it was meat.”

Jian Luo’s slender and fair fingers pinched a piece of potato chips and held them in front of the camera: “You don’t need to cut it so thin when frying yourself, but it should not be too thick, otherwise the taste of the fried potato chips will be affected.”

It was still alright when the camera wasn’t that close. But because of the difference between a human and Dark Star’s information bracelet, everyone noticed that this maverick little thing was actually a human!

Many people had their opinions:

“What do humans know?”

“Wasting food like he was playing family.”

“Let’s go, don’t waste our time.”

Jian Luo saw these people but he ignored them and started to prepare potato chips for the hot oil. This step was the most important, mastering its heat and strength.

This time, not only the people in the barrage, but even the melon eaters1Usually used to refer to idle stream watcher who don’t react and only watch the stream quietly. in the central shopping mall were shocked. At first, everyone thought that this child was wasting food, but now the child even started to play with fire!

“Bzz!”

The pieces of potato chips were put into the pot and the sound was not soft at all. Under the magnification of the lens, the oil splashing out looked extremely dangerous.

“Human, you are playing with fire.”

“Oh my God, it’s too dangerous. Are you really cooking?”

“Don’t try to be grandstanding, okay?”

Jian Luo remembered which button Jiang Jiang had told him to click to switch on the sensory sharing, so he clicked the button to let the audience on the live broadcast network immediately smell the fragrance here.

The website brings up a popup asking the person watching if they would like to accept the sharing.

Originally, only few people were willing to accept it because once they accepted the sensory sharing, that meant that they would be sharing the exhaustion of cooking and the fishy smell of food with the anchor.

But–

The fried potato chips.

The scene in front of them was really exciting and most of the Dark Stars, by nature, liked challenges and couldn’t hold back their eager hearts, clicking the agree button.

Some people even shared it on the web and the live broadcast room participants jumped from 109 to 2002.

Jian Luo began to flip the potato chips continuously with the spatula: “Everyone remember to not let them stick to the pan.”

“Damn it, it’s so hot.”

“It’s so oily, cooking is like fighting a war!”

Some of the people who have already connected and shared their senses found it quite strange and began to express their various feelings.

At the same time, the melon-eating crowd in the central square couldn’t hold back at all. It was not the same as being an audience in the live broadcast room where they could complain and chat with Jian Luo. They also had something to complain about but there is no channel to vent!

While frying the potato chips, Jian Luo said, “If you like live streaming, you can download Jinjiang Live Streaming.com. Download users can try these potato chips for free. I will also share more delicious food made on this platform in the future.”

Jinjiang Live Network.

This was a new site that most people haven’t heard of.

“Never mind, I’ll download it first to complain about the anchor.”

“Eat this potato for free?”

“I don’t want to eat this thing.”

Although most of them were cursing, the downloads for Jinjiang Live Streaming Network began to increase bit by bit.

Finally, in the last stir-fry when the potato chips came out of the pot, the fragrance of potatoes wafted throughout the kitchen. The fried potato chips were golden and crunchy on the surface, eliminating the public’s past perception of round and soft potatoes. The stimulation was even greater for the users sharing their senses:

“My God, it smells so good!”

“Anchor, eat it quickly.”

“Yes, it smells good.”

Jian Luo was not in a hurry to eat, so he cleaned the stove because the potato chips were still a little hot. However, the more he was in no hurry to eat, the more frenzied the Dark Stars who were waiting to be fed became!

Finally, when the crowd couldn’t hold back anymore, Jian Luo took a bite. It was very crispy. The freshly fried potato chips had a sweet and slightly sweet aroma. The reason why this puffed food was a healing food for humans was because of the satisfaction and extreme pleasure that can be felt by the taste buds at the moment of its entry. Its delicious taste could be clearly felt with almost no effort at all.

For a moment, the barrage stopped before being followed by a crazy crowd:

“Too delicious!”

“Immediately put them on the shelves!!”

“I want to buy it for ten years straight!”

“I don’t even want to go to Michelin restaurants.”

Because of his unique cooking skills and human identity, coupled with the audience from all over, the number of people in Jian Luo’s live broadcast room increased wildly, maintaining around 100,000 viewers until the broadcast ended.

After the live broadcast, he put the potato chips on the shelf and was ready to rest. It was only customary.

Almost as soon as he took a break, a message came from his information bracelet: “Hello, I’m Ai Jin. We tasted the food you uploaded today and it tasted very good. We intend to sign a long-term contract with you.”

The military?

Jian Luo remembered his mother’s warning and replied, “I am very happy to be recognized, but I am very sorry. I have no intention of working with you for the time being.”

Ai Jin was taken aback.

She really had a hard time believing that she would be rejected!

Does this human understand that cooking for Lu Shifeng was an honor for any chef in the world, yet he refuses?

Ai Jin didn’t give up: “We can discuss the salary issue until you’re satisfied.”

Jian Luo loves money but cherishes his life. He refuses to take the job which requires licking blood at the tip of a knife2very dangerous: “I’m sorry, but you think too highly of me. My craftsmanship is fine for small jobs, but I really can’t serve big people.”

At that point, Ai Jin understood where the problem was.

This human was not afraid to take their orders. But think about it, once Lu Shifeng is unhappy, it wouldn’t take more than a matter of minutes before someone dies.

But if this human being is not dealt with here, the next person to die will definitely be her.

Thinking of this, Ai Jin felt cruel: “Don’t worry, you are not cooking for the big man, it’s just for a soldier3Lol, it’s a reference to the title. That soldier is Lu Shifeng. Yep, just an ordinary soldier. here!”

Jian Luo was taken aback for a moment: “Do you order meals for ordinary soldiers?”
