Chapter 1

Chen Yuncheng saw the little girl at the intersection for the second time today.

The little girl looked seven or eight years old, perhaps older than that. Because she was very thin, the trousers on her legs looked very loose. Although the clothes were not dirty, they seemed to have been washed so many times that the colour was faded.

Usually, she appeared at the intersection when the commute was most crowded, and crossed the road with a group of passers-by, looking for a target to strike with her two big eyes. But her luck was very bad. Yesterday, Chen Yuncheng saw her going back and forth at the intersection many times and couldn’t find any success. Today, when she just stretched out her hand, a traffic policeman came to the intersection on a motorcycle to direct the traffic. She was startled and hurriedly retracted her hand, putting her hands into her jacket pockets, and slowly left along the street.

Chen Yuncheng retracted his gaze, and his two legs on the chair were crossed. He leaned back his body, his arms behind his head, and his two long legs placed on the counter as he continued to watch the ball game on the TV.

Up until a regular customer came to buy cigarettes. Chen Yuncheng put his legs down from the counter and opened the glass cabinet to get him cigarettes.

The elderly customer took the cigarette case with one hand, touched the lighter with the other, and said, “The temperature has cooled these two days.”

Chen Yuncheng said, “Yeah, it’s time to get a down jacket to wear.”

The elderly customer nodded. He grabbed the lighter on his body, lit a cigarette and walked out.

He didn’t know if it was because the weather was too cold, but from the past two days, at 8 or 9 o’clock in the evening, Chen Yuncheng’s kiosk would be almost out of goods. He would pull down the shutter halfway down so that the light and sound from the store could pass through the lower half of the door. This was so that the old customers who come to buy cigarettes could still knock on the roll-up door outside and then lower their heads before entering the shop.

This way, Chen Yuncheng wouldn’t get too cold from sitting inside and watching TV. The small heater placed by his feet would be enough to warm the entire small shop’s tiny area.

There was a spy war movie on the TV, and Chen Yuncheng watched it a little carelessly until he suddenly heard someone knocking on the rolling shutter door. He subconsciously sat up straight and shouted, “Just come in, we’re not closed yet.”

A young woman with a child in her arms struggled to get in under the shutters.

“Jiajia?” Chen Yuncheng was a little surprised, “What’s going on?”

The woman’s name was Gu Yaojia. Actually, Chen Yuncheng didn’t know her full name. He only knew that she was Zhou Yan’s girlfriend, and Zhou Yan usually called her Jiajia so he also copied him and called her Jiajia.

Gu Yaojia’s hair was a little messy. She patted her hair first and said unsteadily, “Cheng ge, have you seen Zhou Yan today?”

       Chen Yuncheng shook his head.

The child in Gu Yaojia’s arms stretched her arms restlessly. She looked down at the child and said, “He hasn’t come back and I can’t reach him on the phone. I don’t know where he’s gone.”

Chen Yuncheng said, “He didn’t come to me.”

Gu Yaojia asked, “Then can you help me look for him?”

Chen Yuncheng picked up his mobile phone, dialled Zhou Yan’s number first and found that the other party’s mobile phone was off. He then looked at Gu Yaojia and asked, “Could he have gone to KTV1Karaoke Centre?”

       “He resigned,” Gu Yaojia said.

“Resigned?” Chen Yuncheng asked strangely, “Why did he resign?”

       Gu Yaojia shook her head.

Chen Yuncheng hesitated for a moment, then dialled Zhang Wenyong’s phone with his mobile phone, but the other party didn’t answer after several rings. He hung up the phone, looked at Gu Yaojia’s pitiful appearance with the child in her arms and said, “I’ll go to KTV to find someone to ask. Do you want to come with me?”

Gu Yaojia said, “I’m not going, the baby is not feeling well.”

Chen Yuncheng nodded, “Then go back first.”

Gu Yaojia took the child and left first.

Chen Yuncheng turned off the ceiling lights in the store. When he got out from under the shutter door, he saw Gu Yaojia’s back.

Gu Yaojia looked very young. Even if she had a child, Chen Yuncheng suspected that she was still under twenty years old. She and Zhou Yan moved in together for about three months, she then became pregnant and gave birth to a child. The two rented a place in an old neighbourhood only a few minutes away from Chen Yuncheng’s small shop and they had not obtained a marriage license yet.

Chen Yuncheng pulled down the rolling shutter door, stepped on it with his foot, and locked it from the outside. He then wrapped his down jacket tightly around himself and walked towards the subway station.

It had been almost three years since he bought this down jacket. It was not expensive when he bought it. From time to time, a feather would come out from the fabric. Now, Chen Yuncheng didn’t know if it was psychological, but he always felt that the jacket was getting thinner and thinner.

I should buy a new one in a few days, Chen Yuncheng thought about it while walking forward.

No matter how cold the weather was outside, the subway station was still warm, and even after the rush hour, the flow of people had not decreased too much. Chen Yuncheng squeezed into the subway carriage but didn’t get a seat. He stood in the corner, took out his mobile phone and glanced at it. He didn’t see Zhang Wenyong returning his call. In fact, he and Zhang Wenyong hadn’t been in contact for a long time. If it wasn’t for Zhou Yan’s matter, he would not be very willing to contact Zhang Wenyong.

The KTV where Zhou Yan worked was called Glorious World. It was a newly opened KTV located on a street full of bars and restaurants. Zhou Yan went to work for Zhang Wenyong about three months ago. He worked as a waiter at the KTV, and it was always Zhang Wenyong’s thugs who were making trouble.

The door of KTV had two automatic glass doors. When people approached, the doors naturally opened to both sides. The floor in the middle was covered with a red carpet, and written in big, vulgar yellow letters were: Welcome.

When Chen Yuncheng entered, he passed a man who was walking out. When they were a little closer, the both of them turned aside.

The man was taller than Chen Yuncheng. Chen Yuncheng himself was 1.81 meters. He guessed that the other party was around 1.87 to 1.88 meters. He was wearing a long black coat, and the leather shoes under his feet were dark and shiny.

The moment he brushed past, Chen Yuncheng looked up at the man subconsciously. Just as the man looked down at him, Chen Yuncheng saw that handsome and slightly indifferent face.

Chen Yuncheng was stunned for a moment and stopped, but the man had already raised his head and walked out. When Chen Yuncheng looked back, he could only see that man’s straight back and smelled a very light and chilling perfume.

The glass door slowly closed. Chen Yuncheng stood still and saw the man walking towards a dark grey Land Rover parked on the side of the road. The Land Rover flashed its lights as the man approached.

Through the glass door, Chen Yuncheng kept looking as the man got into the car. He then took a deep breath, turned and walked inside.

A waiter greeted him and asked him if he would be singing.

Chen Yuncheng shook his head, saw a familiar face at the service bar, walked over and asked, “Xiao Ou, is Yong ge here?”

Xiao Ou, who was wearing a waiter uniform at the bar, raised his head, saw Chen Yuncheng’s face, and was instantly a little surprised. He said, “Cheng ge, I haven’t seen you for a long time.”

Chen Yuncheng smiled and asked again, “Yong ge is not here today?”

Xiao Ou shook his head, “There’s generally nothing to do now, so Yong ge didn’t come.” After speaking, he said tentatively, “Cheng ge, just call Yong ge directly if you need anything.”

Chen Yuncheng didn’t say anything about Zhang Wenyong not answering his phone, but asked, “Where is Zhou Yan? Have you seen him today?”

Xiao Ou said, “Zhou Yan has resigned for several days.”

Chen Yuncheng remembered what Zhou Yan’s girlfriend said. It turned out that Zhou Yan had really resigned. He asked, “Why did Zhou Yan resign?”

Xiao Ou shook his head. He lowered his head and mechanically sorted out the receipts in his hand, then raised his head, lowered his voice and said to Chen Yuncheng, “I heard Zhou Yan and Yong ge quarrelled a few days ago. I don’t know if this was the cause of his resignation.”

Chen Yuncheng then asked, “What were they arguing about?”

Xiao Ou whispered, “I don’t know, but I heard that Zhou Yan wanted to borrow money.”

Chen Yuncheng nodded, and he said to Xiao Ou, “Thank you.” Before walking out of the KTV hall.

When he went out, Chen Yuncheng took out his mobile phone again and tried to dial Zhou Yan’s number, but it still wasn’t turned on. He didn’t notice that the Land Rover that the man in the black coat had just gotten into was still parked on the side of the road with the lights off and hadn’t moved at all.

(Vol.2) Chapter 2 – I’m here, but where did you go?

Chapter 2 – I’m here, but where did you go?

Shen Congxin has already eaten two bowls of rice and had a look of satisfaction on his face, “Uncle, the dishes you cook are really delicious. This shrimp looked so bland, but I didn’t expect it to taste so exceptionally good.”

Uncle Zhong said with a smile, “Then eat more.”

Qi Yun looked at Uncle Zhong who had been standing at the table and pulled out the chair beside him, “Old man, you can sit and eat too.”

Uncle Zhong waved his hand, “The Xing family has strict rules. The servants are not allowed to eat at the table.”

Shen Congxin ate another half bowl of rice in one breath, “What age is this? You’re still talking about old feudalism.”

Qi Yun glanced at him and pointed to the outside, “Go out the door to eat.”

Shen Congxin immediately lowered his face and held his rice bowl. Before he left, he grabbed half a bowl of vegetables and went to the door obediently.

Only then did Qi Yun speak to Uncle Zhong, “This old man should know the purpose of my visit today.”

Uncle Zhong’s eyes swept across the string of beads on Qi Yun’s wrist.

“The young master left you this string of beads. I think he meant for you to let go of your obsessions. Everything has a predestined law, so why should you be so persistent, sir?”

Qi Yun stroked the string of beads on his wrist, “I asked for many things in the first half of my life, but none of them were what I thought they would be. There is only one person who is in my heart and will never be forgotten.”

There was a sudden thundercloud in the sky as Uncle Zhong looked at the dense clouds outside.

“In this season, there are always many thunderstorms. The wind and rain will be heavy. If you don’t mind, you should stay here for one night.”

Old Uncle Zhong took Qi Yun and Shen Congxin into the inner house. All the people Qi Yun brought were sent away by him, but they stayed at the door of Xing’s house and refused to leave.

Shen Congxin opened his mouth and his eyes were full of surprise. “Uncle, this house must have been around for hundreds of years, right? It is so big. Is it the mansion of some prince and noble family? “

Uncle Zhong nodded, “The old man bought it from a nobleman from the previous generation. It was the mansion of a prince of a certain dynasty in the olden days. “

“Do you usually live alone?” “Shen Congxin looked around the place filled with antiques.

“Someone else takes care of it during the day. I’m the only one guarding the house at night. In the front is the yard where the young master always stayed. I clean the place every day, sir. Here is where you’ll rest tonight.”

After speaking, Uncle Zhong pushed open the courtyard door. Qi Yun’s feet froze. When he stepped in, the hand that was beating on his side tightened indistinctly.

Uncle Zhong led them into the main house and as soon as they entered, Shen Congxin covered his mouth. The outer wall of the main house was covered with musical instruments and a few costumes.

Old Uncle Zhong pointed to the top, “The miss was proficient in various musical instruments during her lifetime. After the young master was born, he was taught by the young lady. The old man was a fan of theatre before his death. The young master studied dramas for many years in order to make the old man happy. He is talented and very smart. He always learned things quickly. “

Qi Yun dragged his hand across the spotless desk to feel it. No, Wanwan has always been very smart. A smile was unconsciously brought to the corner of his eyes as he thought of Wanwan. Shen Congxin quickly asked Uncle Zhong, “Uncle, where do I stay?”

Uncle Zhong smiled, “Sir, come with me.”

Uncle took Shen Congxin out and there was only Qi Yun left in the room. Qi Yun went through the screen and went around into the inner room, which was very simply furnished with a canopy bed and a low table. There was a pipa hanging on the wall. Qi Yun took a closer look at everything in the room. His legs that had not fully recovered were a little sore. He walked slowly to the bed and sat down. The bedding was new and had a sunny smell. A hand-made doll was placed at the corner of the bed. Qi Yun picked up the doll and raised his hand to gently touch it before finally flicking the doll’s forehead.

Don’t be naughty, Wanwan. Come out, don’t hide from me.

Qi Yun’s eyes dimmed as he looked at the doll in his hand, fascinated.

Shen Congxin followed Old Uncle Zhong to another room in the courtyard and was about to enter the door when Shen Congxin suddenly stopped at the door of the room, “Uncle, I know you are a good person. Please overlook my cousin who looks like he is going to die. After looking for my cousin-in-law for half a year, he almost went crazy. In order to find him, he is constantly going through rehabilitation. He came here as soon as he got the news that you are not well. If you have news about my cousin-in-law, please let me know. Please, it’s not easy for him these days.”

Shen Congxin was really in a hurry after he came all the way here.

He saw Qi Yun’s struggle. During the day, he went through rehabilitation like he didn’t care about his own life and at night, he stared at a photo that he’s seen many times in the past, in a daze. When he took a peek at it, it was his cousin-in-law in the photo who was still an infant.

Once, he held down his fear and asked Qi Yun, “He’s still a baby, plus you can’t even see his face clearly. What are you looking at it for?”

Qi Yun was silent for a long time before he said a sentence without a proper beginning or end. Only by looking at this could he be sure that he really existed. There was a time when Shen Congxin felt that he was really going crazy. It’s not that he didn’t meet the people who had seen Xing Zhongwan before to recount his appearance. He even found many famous painters, both locally and abroad to draw. However, when they did, Qi Yun said, “It’s not like my Wanwan.”

Every time Shen Congxin went to pay homage to his godmother, he was about to cry. His big cousin was not crazy yet, but he was going crazy. He was told to take care of his big cousin carefully, but did his big cousin need to be watched over? His life was filled with more self-discipline than him. However, as long as it involves his big cousin-in-law who he has never met, he becomes abnormal.

Old Uncle Zhong patted him on the shoulder, “You are also a good boy, so try to persuade him not to be persistent on everything.”

After leaving this sentence, a thunderstorm passed by and the downpour came as soon as he said it would and the rain enveloped the sky and the ground. When Shen Congxin regained his senses, Uncle Zhong had already left with an umbrella.

Wanwan, don’t go! On the bridge, a tall man’s back could be seen walking ahead. Qi Yun wanted to catch up, but every time he was about to reach him, his back disappeared.

Qi Yun looked at the ghost that disappeared right in front of his eyes, along with the words filled with a soft Jiangnan accent in his ears. Qi Yun, why did you lie to me. You won’t be able to find me, won’t find…

“No, I didn’t want to lie to you. I was wrong, Wanwan!”

When Qi Yun suddenly opened his eyes, his body was soaked wet. His flustered eyes gradually regained their clarity as he slowly sat up. There was heavy rain outside the window and the occasional thunder. Even after wiping his sweaty forehead and burying his head between his knees, the cold all over his body seeped into his bone marrow. The person who could help him drive away the cold no longer wanted him.

It was sunny the next morning, as if the rainstorm had never happened last night. Old Uncle Zhong took Qi Yun to the door and handed him a packet of tea, “I grow it at home. If you don’t mind, take it back and try it.”

Qi Yun gave it to Shen Congxin, who was standing to the side, “Since the old man is old. If anything happens in the future, you can find me.”

“You don’t have to, sir.”

Qi Yun said, “Wanwan is not in the country, so I should take care of you on his behalf.”

Uncle Zhong was stunned for a moment, but he didn’t say no.

After speaking, Qi Yun got into his car and carefully looked at the centuries-old house again. After closing the car door, Uncle Zhong bowed down until the long motorcade disappeared in front of him. The old man sighed. The glimmer of hope in the eyes of that gentleman when first arrived disappeared today.

In the car, Shen Congxin asked Qi Yun if he was going to the airport. Qi Yun looked out the window and did not speak. Shen Congxin told the driver to drive slower. Qi Yun suddenly said, “Is there a famous bridge here?” There were several people in the entourage from Jiangnan and as soon as Qi Yun spoke, someone replied that what he said was true indeed.

Qi Yun thought for a while, “Let’s go and have a look.”

There were not many tourists in early summer. Qi Yun was sitting on the boat alone. That person was no longer there. He couldn’t see it back then, but now he couldn’t see the same scenery as that person.

It’s not that he hasn’t found Xing Zhengping, but coercion and inducement won’t pry his mouth open. He only got the same one sentence every time, that the Xing family tree does not have a Xing Zhongwan as a third young master, after saying that he’s got the wrong person.

Qi Yun got off the boat and got onto the bridge. When the pedestrians walked past him, there were always people looking back at him. The surrounding bodyguards swept over and held up an umbrella for Qi Yun to block the sun and others’ curious eyes.

After saying that he was the only one left, Qi Yun made a stop gesture to the bodyguard behind him and walked slowly to the middle of the bridge by himself, feeling unusually calm.

Jiangnan in early summer was a bit sultry and Qi Yun was sweating a little in his formal shirt. Standing in the middle of the bridge, he suddenly felt at a loss. His only clue ended here. The old man refused to tell him anything and Qi Yun could not force him, as he could not do anything else that would make Wanwan unhappy.

Qi Yun’s eyes fell on the Buddha beads on his wrist.

Wanwan, I went back to Qi’s house. Shen Qinghong said to me that only by climbing to a higher position, will I be able to find you.

In the past, I was not following my heart in order to fight for fame and fortune. But now, I will do it to find you.

Qi Yun put his hand on the stone fence of the bridge. Its surface was a little hot from the sun.

The bodyguards followed behind him, neither far nor near.

Yes, there are still a lot of people around me. But they are here for my name and profit. It’s because of fear. Even if it seems like it is very lively by my side, once everything attached to my name on the surface disappears, I’m still all alone.

Wanwan said, “Qi Yun, smile more, you look good when you smile.”

The corner’s of Qi Yun’s mouth twitched with difficulty. After Wanwan left, he never smiled again as the joy that came from his heart was gone.

Qi Yun closed his eyes mockingly and stretched out his hand to feel the warm wind in the past.

I’m here, but where did you go?

T/N: wHERE iNDEED qI yUN?? Hmph, you deserve it for treating our Wanwan badly! Gotta learn ur lesson.

Chapter 32 – The Entire Planet's Hope

Chapter 32 – The Entire Planet’s Hope

Jian Luo was very grateful. He sighed sincerely: “Thank you Secretary Jin. You are such a good person!”

Secretary Jin was shy: “You’re welcome.”

Now I’m waiting on you, Mr Marshal. Just remember to give me a promotion and a raise.

Now that Jian Luo’s goal has been achieved, he is at ease. He doesn’t want to do anything now, all he wants to do is just get the holy dragon fruit and go home to eat it happily.

It’s a pity that Secretary Jin didn’t intend for him to do so.

Secretary Jin said, “Luoluo, shall I take you to get the fruit?”

Jian Luo nodded: “Okay.”

Secretary Jin quickly calculated sneakily in her heart, and if she was correct, the commander should be training the dragons at the moment.

The youngest dragons of the Dragon Clan were now three hundred years old. They were the last batch of genetically compatible test-tube dragons.

After 300 years, no dragons have been reproduced again. With the intention to keep these batches of dragons healthy for long, the marshal will always take time to train the dragons to ensure that there will be some dragons available when they go into the battlefield in the future. The small dragons have sufficient ability to defend themselves.

Dragons are not afraid of death. They are not afraid of fighting because of the scarcity and frailty of their offspring, which only encouraged them to make themselves stronger, invincible and fearless.

“Secretary Jin.” Jian Luo asked her as she walked, “Aren’t you going to send the meal to the marshal first?”

Secretary Jin was taken aback: “Huh?”

‌Aren’t you going to deliver food?

It’s just that you just passed him by along the way.

“Hey, don’t be in a hurry.” Secretary Jin was anxious but she was smart: “The Marshal has a lot of official business to deal with every day so he is busy now. Even if we send it, he won’t be able to eat it.”

Jian Luo nodded in understanding even though he did not understand: “He often goes out to war, right?”

It was a high-risk occupation and countless men wanted it.

Secretary Jin thought about it: “He used, but now they’re basically defeated, there are very few wars now.”

Jian Luo was a little relieved.

The two of them walked forward. Further ahead was a military restricted area. Jian Luo still knew the rules very well so he asked: “Do I have to go further into the Dragon Valley or should I wait here?”

Secretary Jin smiled: “It’s okay, it’s not a core area. You’ll be fine in the periphery.”

Besides, you are close to the most important figure in the entire military, so what was there to be afraid of? There was nothing to be afraid of at all.

Jian Luo could only agree: “Okay.”

Secretary Jin praised her own wit. As long as she was smart enough, she can bring Luoluo to the marshal in a natural way. Just as the marshal trains the small dragons, she will let Luoluo see what a cool and amazing tyrant the marshal was. Then, won’t Luoluo fall in love with the marshal by then?

Plan approved, let’s go!

Jian Luo felt that Secretary Jin seemed to be a bit off, but decided to endure it for the sake of the holy dragon fruit.

The two walked to the floating training platform, and Secretary Jin’s eyes lit up: “Luoluo, look!”

Jian Luo was caught off-guard. Looking sideways, he saw a red dragon spreading its wings and  circling the sky. It raced towards the ground, where a young man was. There was a huge contrast in size between the bodies of the two parties. A person could tell at a glance that the young man had a cold demeanor.

The red dragon approached aggressively, but just as he was about to get closer, the young man jumped into the air lightly, stomped on the red dragon’s head and flipped onto the dragon’s back in mid air. The red dragon was obviously a little flustered. It looked back and saw Lu Shifeng taking out a sharp blade from his belt before throwing it directly at its eyes. Just looking at it would make one’s eye bleed!

“Wuu!”

Before the red dragon could wail, Jian Luo suddenly covered his face. He was so nervous that he didn’t dare move.

Secretary Jin quickly pulled on him: “Luoluo?”

Jian Luo bitterly said, “Your training is too violent…”

Oh my god!

Lu Shifeng, why are you so cruel to the little dragon cubs?

Secretary Jin comforted him: “It’s okay, it’s okay. The marshal has already calculated it. He was trying to scare it. As they can’t turn their back in battle, he is just trying to teach the dragon that their eyes are very vulnerable.”

The battle not far away was also over. The little red dragon was really frightened, whimpering aggrievedly, wuwuwu, you really scared this dragon to death…

Lu Shifeng jumped off its back and looked at Jian Luo before looking at it: “Do you know what went wrong?”

The little red dragon nodded his dragon head lightly.

Lu Shifeng walked to the ground and pulled out the dagger that cut deep into the hard concrete. He raised his hand as the little red dragon leaned over to nuzzle it. Its red scales became a little hot from the fierce battle just now. Lu Shifeng lowered his head. From the side, his face was sharp, but his eyes looked a little gentle when he looked at the small dragon. He said in a deep voice, “Pay attention next time.”

The little red dragon behaved well and rubbed itself against him again.

On the other side, Jian Luo was ready to run away. He quietly said to Secretary Jin, “Aren’t we going to get the holy dragon fruit? Let’s go.”

Secretary Jin looked at him suspiciously: “Since we’ve already seen the marshal, pass him the meal first.”

“…”

After seeing him, I feel nervous.

Jian Luo had ten thousand complaints in his heart, but he couldn’t just take other people’s holy dragon fruit and then beg to leave quickly, right?

Thinking about it, he could only resign and nod: “Okay.”

Just as he was talking, Lu Shifeng stepped onto a suspension bridge in the air and came over. The man may have just had a spar so there were still a few dragon scales on his neck that have not completely faded away. Seeing the scales, Jian Luo recalled the other night, which made him feel a little panicked.

Lu Shifeng’s eyes fell on him: “Do you feel it difficult to come meet me?”

Jian Luo shook his head determinedly: “No.”

“Are you in a hurry?” Lu Shifeng stood in front of him with his military jacket dr4p3d over his strong arms. He looked at Jian Luo: “You seem to want to leave quickly.”

“…”

Where did you hear that from?

Jian Luo bit the bullet: “I’m afraid of disturbing your work. My presence here is also not very good.”

Lu Shifeng flickered his eyelids to look at Secretary Jin.

Secretary Jin felt the murderous aura immediately. Now, she was the one in a hurry as she said quickly, “It’s because Mr. Jian insisted on coming to bring you your meal, that’s why I let him come!”

I’m sorry, Jian Luo!

This is for the greater good!

Jian Luo was stunned when he heard Secretary Jin’s words. He blinked as Lu Shifeng looked at him in a relaxed manner: “Were you the one who requested so?”

“…”

I didn’t.

But in the current situation, it was better to admit it so Jian Luo endured the humiliation: “Yes.”

The corner of Lu Shifeng’s mouth twitched into a smile. His smile made Jian Luo and Secretary Jin both breathe a sigh of relief, but before that sigh could fully be relieved, they heard the man say, “If it’s the case, then stay back and accompany me to eat.”

Jian Luo blanked out for a moment.

On the contrary, Secretary Jin was very relieved. He didn’t expect that the old marshal would suddenly know how to flirt. Seems like he still knew how to make other’s stay. She was about to shed tears.

Jian Luo quickly waved his hand: “No, I have to go back to work later.”

Lu Shifeng: “At Moonlight?”

“No.”

“Do you have a hobby of changing jobs?” Lu Shifeng frowned: “It seems that your job is different  every time I see you?”

Jian Luo: “…I didn’t change jobs.”

Seeing Lu Shifeng still looking at him, Jian Luo felt that it was necessary to clarify himself: “I was sent by Moonlight on a business trip to cultivate seeds at the seed base.”

Secretary Jin’s eyes lit up: “Luoluo, you sure know a lot!”

Jian Luo was a little embarrassed: “It’s okay, I don’t know much about it. I’m only a little better than others at cooking. As for other stuff, I might not be too good at it.”

Lu Shifeng’s tone was very strange: “At Phoenix Stage?”

“It seems so. I heard that the high priest is also nearby.” After seeing some sweat on Lu Shifeng’s face, he took out a clean cloth from his pocket: “Do you want to use this to wipe?”

Secretary Jin’s heart skipped a beat.

After all, she knew that the marshal never used the items offered by outsiders!

Stay cool, Jian Luo.

As she was about to get nervous, Lu Shifeng took the handkerchief. There was a small golden sun embroidered on the handkerchief and a bright little face on the sun. It looked cute and beautiful. He asked in a deep voice: ” You made this?”

“I drew the design.” Jian Luo took no credit: “But my mother embroidered it.”

Lu Shifeng didn’t say anything and accepted it.

Jian Luo was still thinking about the holy dragon fruit and was a little anxious. After all, he was still in a hurry to go back to work, so he looked at Secretary Jin and blinked non-stop, crazily hinting at her.

Secretary Jin: “…Luoluo, are your eyes uncomfortable?”

Jian Luo fell silent.

The corner of Lu Shifeng’s mouth evoked a meaningful smile: “He wants you to take him to get the fruit.”

Secretary Jin was stunned.

Jian Luo was also a little embarrassed. He didn’t expect that Lu Shifeng not only heard it, but also understood him comprehensively.

“Most people don’t like the taste of the holy dragon fruit’s flesh.” Lu Shifeng’s eyes swept around Jian Luo’s stomach, whether intentionally or unintentionally: “Do you like it?”

Jian Luo bit the bullet and said, “Human’s preferences in tastes are different from yours.”

Lu Shifeng was silent for a while before finally saying to Jian Luo, “If you can’t carry it back, I’ll have someone send it to your house.”

Although his voice was indifferent and ruthless, Jian Luo heard a hint of emotion when he listened. He nodded: “Okay, I’ll go back to work first.”

Lu Shifeng: “Go.”

Jian Luo just ran away. He couldn’t run very fast, but his short legs were still able to pull themselves together. Watching his back as he left, Secretary Jin was a little dazed until she heard Lu Shifeng say in a low voice, “What are you looking at?”

Secretary Jin abruptly closed her eyes and hurriedly said, “No, not looking at anything.”

Lu Shifeng glanced at her with a little disgust in his eyes. In the end, he didn’t strike the secretary, only speaking in a low voice, “Go find a human.”

Secretary Jin wondered: “What for?”

Lu Shifeng lifted his eyelids and glanced at her: “Let him try a holy dragon fruit.”

“…”

When the two pairs of eyes met, Secretary Jin’s eyes slowly changed from doubt to shock.

Then, her whole blood seemed to boil as her golden dragon scales emerged uncontrollably. She stammered, “You, do you mean…?”

Lu Shifeng played with the handkerchief Jian Luo gave him in his hand and said in a low voice, “Go pick him a good box of fruits and send it to him. Don’t starve him.”

Secretary Jin stood at attention and saluted, with a high voice she said: “Yes!”

Hey, forget a box. Even if the cubs want to eat the fruits in the entire Holy Valley, they will all be harvested. Regardless, the mother tree will not starve the cubs!

On the other side

Jian Luo squatted next to where the pepper seeds were planted and looked at the sapling.

Wang Heng next to him sneered: “Without nutrient water, the seedlings will not get any nutrition at all. But you were too brave.”

“Nutritional water is definitely good.” Jian Luo sat cross-legged on the small rocking chair: “But nutrient water only promotes the growth of the seedlings. The real good seedlings should be left to germinate in the soil and overcome difficulties with their abilities. Only the ones that germinate and sprout out are the ones that should be allowed to grow tall.”

The corners of Wang Heng’s mouth were twitching: “…such an absurd reason.”

Jian Luo decided not to care about him.

When he was a child, his family lived in the countryside. He was picked up by his adopted parents. He heard that he had been thrown on the side of the road and was almost bitten by a dog. Fortunately, he was brought back before he was bitten.

He had four siblings in his family and he was the youngest, but also the one who worked the hardest.

Luo, not as in descended onto land, but fallen down1Jian Luo is now telling the story of how he got his name in the first place.

Because Jian Luo’s name is 简落 in cn. So the cn character 落 (Luò) can carry multiple meanings.

落地 – descend to the ground (god-sent from above)
落下 – fallen down (failure).

At this time, some of the words he often heard were nothing more than the occasional:

“Get up and cook!”

“Why is it so difficult for you to cook some food!”

“Going to school? Do we look like we have money at home?”

From childhood all the way to adulthood, Jian Luo was best at dealing with meals. It was only because he was able to cook well that he could have a bite of food and not be beaten.

People who grow up in this environment were either willing to degenerate into obscurity or strive to climb up. The cultivated seedlings also followed this line of reasoning.

Jian Luo looked at the seedlings in Wang Heng’s glasshouse: “You are growing Chinese cabbage, but the temperature is a bit high. Chinese cabbage is suited to temperatures at least 25% cooler.”

Wang Heng sneered: “Have you ever planted it? Your tone of voice is very confident.”

Jian Luo, who was on the rocking chair, rocked back and forth as he nibbled on the roasted sweet potatoes he brought from home: “You think I’m trying to boss you around, but I just don’t want another vegetable variety to be extinct because of you.”

Wang Heng looked at him coldly: “Grow your chili peppers first before spouting nonsense.”

Jian Luo saw that he didn’t want to listen, so he wasn’t going to be pushy either.

Ever since he became pregnant, he was very tired and liked to sleep. It was good that he wasn’t at Moonlight. That place was noisy, unlike this quiet place. Besides, there were only two people in the shed and Wang Heng didn’t bother with him so he was also undisturbed here.

In the evening

Jian Luo came home and was going to start a live broadcast tonight. He was fully prepared this time. Since the dragon cub didn’t like the smell of raw food, he would make something plain and eat it with rice noodles. It would be simple, convenient and also delicious.

As soon as he entered through the door, Jian Luo saw his aunt sitting on the sofa.

His aunt glanced at the door: “Hey, Luoluo came back. Auntie was just talking about you. It’s not peaceful outside now, so I’m worried about you.”

Jian Luo came in to change his shoes: “Since it’s not very peaceful outside, auntie, you should go home soon and not hang around outside.”

Su You’s face changed: “This child…”

Jian Luo was too lazy to pay attention to her, but said to Su Liang, “Mom, was there an express delivery today?”

Su Liang, who was busy cooking in the kitchen, came out and asked, “Are you talking about the two boxes? They were sent by someone and are in your room, not opened yet.”

Jian Luo responded with an ‘en’.

He went back to his room and saw a well-sealed cardboard box containing the holy dragon fruits. He never imagined that Secretary Jin would be so generous. Not only did she deliver the promised box, there were even two boxes!

Jian Luo squatted down, took a pair of scissors and started to unpack the outer wrapping. If one didn’t unpack it, the items inside remain uncertain. After unpacking, he found that the packaging was very delicate, keeping a constant temperature and acting as a fresh-keeping box. The whole box was crystal clear:

[Wonderous things can’t last for a long time, but with the Tiny Gold Box, now it can.]

Jian Luo said to the lightbrain of his information bracelet: “What is the Tiny Gold Box?”

After a quick load, the brain answered quickly: “According to the search, the Tiny Gold Box is priced at 120,000 star dollars and is used to store and transport vegetables and fruits that nobles like.”

The lightbrain scanned again: “There are about 15 holy dragon fruits in the box. Roughly estimating, its total value is approximately equal to 80,000 star dollars based on the quality and weight…”

Jian Luo was shocked stupid, that is to say, he had casually asked Secretary Jin for a box of fruits, but came back with 230,000 star dollars?

There are two boxes, so isn’t it about 500,000?

He remembered that before, his mother, Su Liang, had farmed in the cultivation base year-round and her annual salary was only 100,000. The nobles simply handed him two boxes of fruit, but it amounted to an ordinary person’s 5 year’s worth of salary.

Damn these evil rich people.

Jian Luo took a holy dragon fruit out of it. The fruit was golden and ripe. The pulp inside was crystal clear. He took a bite out of the softness and its juice was sweet but not too sugary. It tasted like vanilla ice cream.

“Jian Luo.”

There was a knock on the door from the outside.

Jian Luo said, “Mom, what’s up?”

“Are you going to livestream today?” Su Liang asked him outside: “If you’re going live, mom will help you clean up the kitchen and prepare things.”

Jian Luo swallowed what was left in his mouth: “I’ll be live broadcasting, mom. Help me cook some rice. I’ll go out and get it later. You don’t need to help me prepare the dishes today.”

Su Liang responded: “Okay, you just got off work, so eat and then broadcast live, don’t starve yourself.”

Jian Luo simply responded with a sound.

He found that the dragon cubs really liked this fruit. In the past, it wouldn’t matter if he was full, he would still feel crazed and uncomfortable.

But only after eating one of these, he felt full. He even felt so full of energy that he could go out and run ten laps.

Outside

Su You pulled on Su Liang’s sleeves: “I told you yesterday that you have to take this to heart. He is pregnant with children. How could you misread it? Did you not notice? Even I see it clearly. Even though there’s nothing wrong, Luoluo will always subconsciously touch his stomach. He also retches when he smells something fishy, and his walking posture too. I swear I’m right.”

Su Liang was still hesitant: “But…”

Su You really couldn’t wait. She heard it clearly that the Dark Stars had no cubs at all, due to their inability to breed. If Jian Luo really does happen to be pregnant, their entire Su family will follow and gain a prosperous life.

She had to make her properly understand this.

“Are you afraid that asking Luoluo will make him look bad? Or perhaps you’re worried that he won’t tell you.” Su You lowered her voice: “I have a pregnancy test sticker. It can be attached to Luoluo’s body, and it won’t take long. If Luoluo is really pregnant, the piece of paper will change color and then we will know everything.”

Su Liang thought about it, but shook her head and refused: “No, Luoluo will tell me when she wants to tell me, eldest sister. It’s our family matter so you don’t need to worry about it. I’ll take you home tomorrow. “

Su You was stunned for a moment and her face was a little ugly: “Sister, what do you mean? Is it that big sister’s words are hard to listen to? I only feel that his personality has changed. His temperament is also not the same as before, don’t you have any suspicions…”

“Big sister!” Su Liang suddenly said coldly: “I’ll handle my own son. I know him very well. Thank you for your kindness, big sister. I believe that if Luoluo doesn’t tell me anything, it’s because he’s dealing with hardship. Then, he doesn’t have to say it.”

Su You: “You…”

She wanted to say more but Su Liang had already turned away.

Looking at her back, Su You gritted her teeth as she held the paper in her hand with hatred before sneering.

Oh, if you won’t test it, I’ll test it.

Jian Luo came out of the room, walked to the dining table and sat down: “Mom, what are we eating today?”

“You don’t have a good appetite these two days, so mom will cook porridge for you.” Su Liang busied herself in the kitchen before bringing out the dishes: “Fried potato.”

Jian Luo whiffed it: “It’s so fragrant. Mom, your cooking skills are improving.”

Su Liang smiled embarrassedly: “You’re speaking nonsense.”

Jian Luo drank the porridge with a smile. Halfway through his meal, he heard a sound from the window outside and he was stunned: “Mom, is it raining outside?”

Su Liang put down what she was doing and glanced outside: “Oh, it’s true! There are still things in the yard.”

Jian Luo said, “I’ll help.”

“No, no, no!” Su Liang said, “You continue eating. There’s nothing much. Just leave it to mom.”

Jian Luo already walked there halfway, so Su You, who was behind him, came over and patted him on the shoulder: “Good Luoluo. Listen to your mother. Auntie will go out to help. You go back to eat your dinner.”

Jian Luo still wanted to go out but Su You pushed him back: “Okay, okay. We don’t need your help, just go and sit.”

“Okay, thank you auntie.”

Jian Luo went back to eat.

Su You looked at the sticker on his back and smiled: “It’s nothing, just go.”

Jian Luo was eating slowly while thinking about the content of the live broadcast for a bit. In the living room not far away, Su Liang and her aunt were squatting at the door to check on the dried fruit.

Jian Luo said, “Mom, I’ll go back to my room to change clothes and take a shower first before I come out again.”

Su Liang didn’t look back: “Got it.”

Jian Luo packed up and went back to his room to rest. As time went by, the sticker began to work. Its tentative stimulus, caused the sensitive dragon cubs to notice it at once. They thought that their mother was being threatened by the outside world and started to feel uneasy.

As soon as he opened the door, Jian Luo felt a slight abdominal pain and slammed the back of his hand onto the door with a ‘Bang!’ as he almost fell onto the ground.

On the Dark Star, most of them were beasts while the rest were half-beasts.

From ancient times to the present, Dark Stars have lived in groups. The beasts naturally relied on scent to discern others. This was especially true for high-level clans with stronger scents.

Dark Star cubs were very precious, especially ones from the dragon family. When a female is pregnant, some dragons in the Dragon Valley will assume the position as her guardian protector. Once the female or her cub are threatened, even the most premature cubs will emit an uneasy aura. This aura can spread up to a radius of ten miles to send a signal for help.

Peace Paradise is more than ten miles away from the Sky city in the upper realm, but there were still many Dark Star people who are close by:

“I think I smell a signal from some cubs. Please slap me awake from my dream.”

“I smell it too.”

“Cubs? God, whose cubs is it?”

“The scent is a little uneasy, is it in danger?”

“Bam!”

Some irritable Dark Star smashed the table: “Who is it!? Whoever dared to harm the cubs who can’t even see yet, our entire planet will not let this go!”

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Amidst the boisterous chatter, Zhan She patted his clothes and stood up from the ground, looking at Lu Jingning, who was smiling uncontrollably, with a complicated expression.

At the preparation meeting the day before, the school leaders had repeatedly stressed that the seniors should play around and not use too much force to just scare the freshmen, as to not undermine their self-confidence.

It was a good thing if they were able to mould themselves right out of the field.

But to someone with Zhan She’s personality, he never makes excuses for his failures, nodding distantly towards Lu Jingning and saying from the bottom of his heart, “You are very strong.”

Lu Jingning was also nonchalant and returned a smile, “You too.”

After the two men casually exchanged a couple of words, the first challenge was officially over by now.

After that, Lu Jingning stood away from the centre of the field, idly and comfortably, even if he was at the centre of attention in the hall. Even the eyes of a few instructors from the eight faculties were drawn away from the battle in the viewing area.

Although the instructors did not say anything on the surface, they could still clearly feel the unsettling waves that were made in the dark.

While the Challenge was ostensibly a platform for the new students to compete for resources, it was also an opportunity for the tutors of the various faculties to better identify the right talent for their faculties.

Just like Wen Xingchen just now, although he failed to complete the final 1v3 challenge, his excellent performance was already enough to put him on the list of these mentors.

Under normal circumstances, it is normal to have a few top students each semester, but these top students have always been Alphas. However, now there was a sudden emergence of a bright Omega, which made things a bit unpredictable.

Although it is said that heroes don’t come from nowhere, there were no shortage of Omega’s who have shone in other fields as they were really at a natural disadvantage in the military branch. No one could be sure that they will be able to stick around for long and predetermined periods of time in the future for their military school career. After all, in the Freshman Challenge, they were not allowed to use their pheromones. But without this rule, it was questionable whether this Omega freshman would have been able to excel in the face of the Alpha’s suppressing scent.

Several of the tutors secretly observed the other, each with their own thoughts in mind.

The students in the arena’s viewing gallery were not at all troubled by the thoughts of these men, watching the proud figure on the field with an excited mood.

Damn, this is definitely the most refreshing Omega they’ve seen in their Alpha career!

Or rather, apart from that face, there was not a single trace of his Omega counterpart from head to toe. He was a real bully!

Lu Jingning waited for a while, apparently getting a little impatient. He wrinkled his brow and asked the judge next to him, “Where is the next person? Is there anyone else?”

The referee’s looked a little embarrassed, “That… student, please wait a little longer. After a while more, we have already gone to find someone.”

The challenge was supposed to be over by now. Wen Xingchen was the last Alpha to take part in the challenge, and after Zhanshe’s win, the other seniors felt they had no chance to participate anymore so they simply went back.

Who would have thought that Zhanshe, A strong Alpha, even among his third years, would be beaten out of the field by a first year Omega?

Who will believe it, even if you mention it!

After a good half an hour later, a figure hurriedly ran in through the entrance.

The referee looked at him like a saviour and didn’t wait for him to return to his senses before he directly brought him up onstage: “The second round of the challenge, officially begins-!”

The dude who was scouted: “???”

A large proportion of the seniors who took part in the challenge were there just to fill in the numbers, and this person was one of them. Before this, he never thought he would actually be on the field, and was even more bewildered to see an Omega standing in front of him at this point.

Lu Jingning had already been waiting impatiently by this time, and all of his politeness was gone. As soon as he heard the referee’s words, he had already rushed over to the other side and smiled slightly: “I’m sorry, senior.”

The senior was mostly taken by his suddenly approaching face, and in the next moment, he completely lost his balance under his opponent’s sweeping leg.

Immediately afterwards, his collar was pulled up and he was thrown out, briefly suspended in the air, before falling, his face coming into close contact with the ground outside the ring.

Lu Jingning clapped his hands together and looked to the referee to remind him, “It’s over.”

The referee was dumbfounded for the second time: “Then, the match is over-!”

Silence once again fell over the arena.

If the last time it happened too quickly to notice, this time the proceedings were quite clear to all who were watching.

His simple sweeping movements were unparalleled in their quality and fluidity, and the speed of his movements showed absolutely superb footwork, not to mention the strength of a single arm that easily lifted the guy. Excluding the level of his ability to use pheromones, this absolutely tough physical standard lied undoubtedly at the top even among the Alphas.

However, when it comes to the real battlefield, the strength of the pheromone’s chi energy is far more critical than physical fitness, and this alone predetermines the huge difference in strength between the three ABO groups.

Let’s just say that this freshman is really strong, but unfortunately, he was an Omega.

This thought flashed through everyone’s mind.

Lu Jingning couldn’t really hear this from the stage, but Yu Qingcang, who was in the viewing gallery, could hear the whispers all around him.

In response, a contemptuous smile appeared between his eyebrows.

Tsk, Lu Jingning will lose out because of pheromones? That also depends on how hard you can get your legs together going up against this one!

Thinking back to the beatings and tears he had shed during that nightmarish time, Yu Qingcang’s expression as he tilted his head towards the ceiling only looked incomparably mournful.

How long had it been since he had knelt in front of this bastard Lu Jingning? It was even more than he had knelt in front of his father.

Only those who have felt it knew that his pheromones were simply much more frightening than all the Alpha’s.

So what if it’s a strong Alpha? Ah… Lu Jingning was the real Alpha killer!

The challenge on the field did not continue, and no sooner had the third responder been called back than a halt was called.

Lu Jingning looked at the old man with white hair who came on stage and wrinkled his eyebrows in dissatisfaction, “Didn’t you say that the challenge would be won after beating three people? Why aren’t we continuing?”

The old man gave him a look, “A group of three is the standard for Alphas, as for the Omega category, you only need to win against two.”

Lu Jingning raised his eyebrows, “Who made the rules? Why don’t I know this?”

The old man smiled gently, “I made the rules, just now.”

Lu Jingning was speechless: “…Who are you?”

The judge next to him couldn’t hold his tongue and whispered a reminder, “Watch your mouth, this is the headmaster!”

Lu Jingning was surprised: “You are Bing Cang?”

Referee: “……” Was the headmaster’s name an optional method to address him by?

The old man smiled but did not say anything.

By this time, many of the freshmen in the audience had recognized the close-ups on the big screen. The stands stood up in unison, throwing a distant salute.

BING CANG, the current president of the Imperial Naval University, was a highly decorated war veteran, and it would be no exaggeration to say that he alone has made the university a success.

Lu Jingning looked at the exaggerated formation around him and felt even more speechless. He always disliked being treated differently, so at this time he even protested frankly, “I don’t need such rules, call someone else up. I want to fight 1vs3.”

Bing Cang glanced at his unconvinced expression and pulled him to the corner without slowing down. He suddenly lowered his voice and laughed, “I just received a call from your old man.”

When Lu Jingning heard this, his back stiffened slightly for a few moments, pursing his lips without saying anything.

Bing Cang showed an outstandingly amiable smile, “Lu Kongbin said that you might want to crash the show today, so I kept an eye on you.”

Lu Jingning snorted unconvincingly, “Isn’t the 1vs3 your own idea, how come too much when it comes to me?”

Bing Cang gave him a look, “It’s true that it was the original rule for an Alpha to win three games in a row, but it’s not necessarily a good thing for an Omega to be so striking right from the start. As I said earlier, by Omega’s standards, 1vs2 is enough.”

Of course, Lu Jingning knew what Bing Cang meant.

It’s not unusual for an Alpha to lose to an Alpha. However, when it comes to being knocked out by an Omega, it’s a different story. Basically, it would be a disgrace. When it comes down to a matter of their pride, there will be no end to it.

Lu Kongbin obviously knew his nature and had specially asked Bing Cang to keep an eye on him, telling him to cause less trouble, lest he shine too brightly and get himself into trouble.

But was he the kind of person who was afraid of being picked on?

Lu Jingning raised his eyelashes and hooked the corners of his mouth disdainfully.

Just as he was about to speak, Bing Cang added with a smile, “Ah, you are indeed very strong but the military school exchange competition is coming up in a bit, and I am afraid that any further fights will affect the morale of the senior students. Little friend, consider it a favour to me today, and if you have any problems in the future, you can always come to me for help, how about that?”

Lu Jingning looked up, only to see Bing Cang winking meaningfully at him.

He thought for a brief two seconds and nodded reluctantly, “OK.”

Regardless, getting to win a 1vs2 today was indeed enough to make others remember him.

Moreover, BING CANG, the headmaster of the Imperial Navy, was the most powerful person in the Imperial Navy, so this promise is quite substantial and worthy of such a favour.

Everyone watched as their great headmaster pulled the Omega freshman to the side and whispered in his ear for half a day before the referee, who was caught off guard and announced the official end of the day’s challenge.

The faces of the crowd were confused.

This script was moving a bit fast, wasn’t it?

Lu Jingning, the party in question, ended it as soon as he said he would and walked out of the arena with his backpack, in full view of everyone, yawning and headed towards Omega’s dormitory building.

He should sleep early, he was so sleepy.

The author has something to say: About the private setting of pheromone use in combat, will be introduced later, there is no hurry, no rush.

Future support has been obtained~ It has been clearly arranged~  Smoking.jpg

T/N: Well, if I’m being honest… perhaps the MC is a little gary-stu, but hey, it’s a novel that meant to be indulgent, so try to enjoy it ^^ even if it may not be your cup of tea, I always hope you have a great reading experience owo

Another thing to note, I was thinking since this novel is pretty newly-translated… I’d like to update a little more frequently to get more chapters out, since I know how it feels as a reader to be waiting and endlessly waiting on new chapters hehe~ Expect more to come every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, this June. Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Lu Jingning arrived late. Right now, the freshman challenge was basically nearing its end and the freshman standing on the stage should be the last challenger in line.

He glanced at the competition-matching information board displayed next to him.

The new student’s name was Wen Xingchen and the other one on the stage was a senior in his 3rd year.

If it weren’t for the different coloured medals on the shoulders of both sides, he wouldn’t have been able to easily distinguish between the two. It would’ve been easy to think that this Wen Xingchen was the senior, just judging from the height of these two.

Tsk, Alpha were not good for anything else, but their genes for height were really strong. Even if he himself was 5’8″ and was definitely not short even among the Betas, but 5’8” compared to those Alpha with good genes, he still looked a bit inadequate.

Moreover, this freshman named Wen Xingchen was clearly not just tall.

According to Yu Qingcang’s description, before this man came on, the freshmen were basically being bullied one by one. The situation was completely one-sided, which resulted in the morale of the freshmen side being in a slump for a while.

The situation on the field has now apparently been completely reversed, as Wen Xingchen has now defeated two seniors in a row. With one more win, he will be able to achieve the glorious achievement of entering the school after obtaining a 1v3 win.

The idea of winning three games in a row is quite different from taking a game or two by chance.

It is said that no one at Imperial Navy University has been able to complete such a challenge for three whole years.

At this time, not only had the morale of the freshmen suddenly risen, the instructors of the four colleges who were watching the battle also had a vague hint of excitement on their faces.

Not bad, after sitting on their backsides all afternoon, they’ve finally got the perfect candidate to grab the chance!

Lu Jingning leaned against a nearby pillar, c0cking his head with a meaningful smile.

Just now, he discovered something very interesting.

Although the battle on the field looked exciting, from his quiet corner, he happened to catch a few small, hard-to-perceive movements.

The Alpha freshman on the field seemed to be plotting step by step so he would not recklessly move and lose the challenge.

This discovery seemed a bit unbelievable, and although Lu Jingning was also a bit puzzled by it, he was not too interested in it either, and just tilted his head and yawned lazily.

He was a little sleepy.

It was getting late and he just wanted to get it over with early so he could go back to his dorm and catch up on his sleep afterwards.

Wen Xingchen unsurprisingly lost the challenge and came off the field with that same clear, bland expression on his face as always, seemingly unaffected by the frustration that filled the freshers’ camp.

He would pass through the preparation area on his way out of the field and as he passed through the aisles, a voice with a flirtatious tone suddenly came through, “Nice fight, bro.”

Not much light entered the corner of the preparation area, and it was only when he looked up, did he notice a guy leaning against the side of the wall, looking up at him with a smiling face that was provocative to the extreme.

Wen Xingchen obviously did not expect to meet an Omega here. However, did not have time to indulge in the beauty of the other person and instead wrinkled his brow slightly out of confusion.

With this twisted brow, Lu Jingning more or less guessed what he was thinking and although he was upset, he added with a false smile, “Ah, no, I should say, nice acting.”

Wen Xingchen finally looked at him carefully, and there seemed to be a vague cold light in his deep eyes, full of unknown meaning.

If such a gaze fell on other people, it would indeed be intimidating, but Lu Jingning never cared and leaned lazily against the wall, half-smiling and meeting his gaze.

It was obviously a provocation.

He is the kind of person who has never been afraid of the world.

Wen Xingchen’s voice was low and magnetic: “You noticed?”

Lu Jingning raised an eyebrow, “Will you beg me not to say anything?”

“That’s not necessary.” Wen Xingchen suddenly gave an inaudible soft laugh, a touch of meaningful derision in his extremely polite tone, “Just surprised. I didn’t expect the challenge to put me in so much limelight.”

Lu Jingning: “????”

Did that not sound right? Why did it suddenly seem like he had ulterior motives for talking to this guy?1Why did it suddenly sound like Lu Jingning was flirting with Wen Xingchen? He wasn’t!!

After pondering for a while, Lu Jingning was about to sneer back, however he saw that Wen Xingchen had already turned around and walked away, leaving behind an unspoken “Go for the challenge”, his tall and slender back revealing a sense of calmness and indifference.

If it wasn’t for the dark, evil look in those eyes when he sneered earlier, he was afraid that he too, would have been fooled by his heavenly, ascetic look.

Most of all, he, Lu Jingning, had actually lost to someone in the battle of the tongue?

Lu Jingning took a step forward and was about to go after him when a middle-aged man in a staff uniform walked in and urged him, “X9879, why aren’t you up there yet?”

Inside Lu Jingning’s mind: …… f-ck?

The middle-aged man just entered the door just in time to collide with him head-on. When he got a good look at his appearance he couldn’t help but be stunned for a moment. Suddenly he wasn’t rushing him anymore, “Classmate, if you want to change your mind and abandon the competition now…”

Lu Jingning managed to stop himself from rolling his eyes and said impatiently, “Not changing my mind. There’ll be no forfeits. I’m going up!”

After saying this, he threw his backpack over his shoulder onto the seat next to him. Instead of taking the steps, he braced himself on the ground with one hand and with a slight push, he easily jumped and rolled over onto the challenge platform.

At this time, the crowd had just recovered from the frustration of Wen Xingchen’s defeat and were staring momentarily at the entrance in anticipation of the next challenger.

Before they could register the person in their minds, they were surprised by this excessively unruly appearance.

Their first thoughts were, f-ck, he looks like another pro!

Their second reaction was that this pro looked a bit slender.

Which was followed by, this pro seemed excessively good-looking.

And finally, was this pro a…???

A f-cking Omega?!!!

The deafening cheers lasted less than two seconds, before an eerie silence fell. That was apart from the loud and thick voice coming from a corner, roaring in a ghostly voice: “Aaahh Lu Jingning you’re finally fvcking up! I want to give birth to your monkeys2He want to give birth to his kids, but it’s changed to monkeys in cn meme culture (because it’s more funny haha)!!!”

In the midst of the silence, his shouts were particularly abrupt and clear.

Everyone in the arena subconsciously looked that way, only to see a stout figure twisting his large thick waist in excitement, with a look of anticipation and admiration.

The crowd silently remembered the magnificent face and withdrew their eyes full of disgust.

What kind of mutant species did the Imperial Navy recruit this year?

But… such an ugly person wanted to give birth to his monkeys, they could do the same as well!!!

Lu Jingning on the field of course, also heard Yu Qingcang’s almost passionate shouts. However, out of shame, he stood there expressionlessly with an indifferent attitude like he didn’t know this guy, not even glancing at him with the corner of his eyes.

The one standing in front of him was the 3rd year who had just “defeated” Wen Xingchen, named Zhanshe. His reaction at this moment was almost exactly the same as the others. After a long time, he asked with some uncertainty, “Are you… an Omega?”

Knowing what he was going to say, Lu Jingning briefly warmed his muscles and looked at him with a smirk before asking rhetorically, “Do I look like an Alpha?”

Zhanshe choked, “No, that’s not what I meant.”

Lu Jingning continued to laugh, “Or maybe, after knowing that I’m an Omega, you’re ready to take pity on me and raise your white flag?”

Zhanshe: “Of course not…”

Lu Jingning placed his hands in front of him and rubbed them, raising his eyelashes lazily at the sound of cracking joints, “Since it’s neither this or that, what’s the point of asking so much? Are we still fighting or not?”

He said, turning towards the judge next to him, “May we begin?”

The referee, who was also a senior student, was staring at Lu Jingning’s face, but when he suddenly caught his opponent’s gaze, his face seemed to burn for some reason, and he announced in a panic: “Then, the match begins…!”

The moment the words were spoken, the timer for the match also began to run.

Zhanshe remained somewhat dazed.

It’s not that he hasn’t fought Omegas before.

They also had an Omega in their class and usually skipped the training courses in class.

But today he was on the field as a senior to a freshman who had come to hone his skills, and even though the university had banned the use of pheromones during the competition in order to bridge the gap between the old and new students, as a 3rd year himself he still had the absolute advantage.

Before, he was fine with the new Alpha students, but now he had to hit an Omega in front of a large crowd, and he was afraid that he might not be able to control his strength and hurt him.

While Zhanshe hesitated, Lu Jingning did not have a single intention of doing this half-heartedly at all.

After warming his muscles, the corners of his mouth hooked up slightly, revealing a gangly smile, “Senior, if you don’t make a move, then I won’t be showing any courtesy!”

After saying that, without waiting for Zhanshe’s response, his feet suddenly moved, and in the blink of an eye, he was already close enough to strike.

Zhanshe only saw that excessively good-looking face suddenly magnified several times in front of his eyes, and before he even had time to feel the breath that caressed his skin, he only felt a whirlwind and instantly lost his balance.

In the next second, his entire body was completely in the air.

Before he could react in any way, his vision before him had changed to the row of lights on top of the arena.

After feeling a heavy pain in his back, his whole world fell completely silent.

The turn of events of the competition left Zhangshe a little confused.

The arena was even more eerily silent and ravenous.

The referee froze for a few seconds before coming back to his senses and announcing the result of the clash: “Lu… L-Lu Jingning won!”

It took less than 10 seconds for the combat clock to stop, with a lag of two or three seconds due to the referee being dazed.

Zhanshe looked at the numbers paused on the chronograph board and his mind was full of question marks.

What had just happened? How did he get thrown off the field without warning?

One minute he was worrying on how to take on Omega, the next minute he has… lost?

Zhanshe lay where he was, a little taken aback.

The bizarre turn of events of inexplicably losing to an Omega made him a bit uncomfortable to accept this.

It was at this moment that a face with a broad smile suddenly appeared before his eyes, and the two pairs of eyes met.

Lu Jingning leaned his entire body against  the railing of the challenge platform, looking down at him with a smile, “Senior, I’m offended.”

After two full minutes of silence, the arena seemed to suddenly explode into a complete frenzy.

“Crap, did I just dream that? What did I just see?!”

“What the hell is going on with this Omega? The speed of his movements were unbelievable!”

“What’s going on? It’s fake, isn’t it? Was it a deliberate loss?”

“Although it’s true that Zhanshe senior didn’t move just now, why do I feel that even if he did it wouldn’t have changed anything?”

“That was too fast! That move was really fast! It’s the first time I’ve seen such a crisp and clean fighting technique!”

“My world views have been shaken! Are all the Omegas from the Imperial Navy University monsters?”

……

In the midst of all the discussion, someone suddenly said from the bottom of their heart, “This Omega is just EXPLOSIVE!”

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

“Did you hear that there are actually 50 Omegas in the freshman class this year!”

“No way, that many? I remember our class was only recruiting 20 at the time.”

“I don’t know what the school is thinking, but it’s said that the graduation rate for the last Omega class was less than 10 percent, and even the few that barely graduated ended up being assigned to military hospitals as nurses, all outside the military establishment.”

“It’s not like you guys don’t know that Omega’s are a special group of attributes, and most of them were sent to military schools just to reach the quota, so why would they need to be assigned to the establishment for? It’s not bad if they can graduate!”

“I think you all think too much, maybe the school was just looking to give us students some benefits? You see, even though those Omegas are not fit for battle, they are really provocative. After hanging around a bunch of old men all day, don’t we need a little spice?”

Today was the opening day of the Imperial Navy’s Maritime University and several senior Alphas came to volunteer to greet the new students at the entrance of the school, taking advantage of their free time to gather and chat.

One of the skinny-faced, flat-headed boys inadvertently glanced up and caught a glimpse of a figure walking from a distance and couldn’t help but tone down his voice slightly, “Hey, he’s too damn good-looking!”

The others were drawn to his words as their eyes glazed over a little to take a glance.

The visual impact made the pheromones in their bodies fluctuate darkly. Before they could exchange a few words of insight with each other, they saw that the visitor had already walked up to them.

His golden hair seems to reflect the sun’s energy. With such an excessively good-looking face, just the slightest smile seemed to bring in the light from spring.

Due to the beauty of his face, which was as beautiful as a handicraft from the heavens, he was instantly recognisable as an Omega.

Although the number of Omegas in the Imperial Navy’s military university was scarce, they were all genetically superior. They would always meet one or two on the campus path from time to time during the week, but never before had they felt vaguely suffocated by just a faint sweep of the other’s eyes like they did just now.

The appeal of such an Omega to an Alpha can be fatal.

The Alphas, who usually pride themselves on their charm, froze for a long time before they seemed to come back to their senses and asked eagerly, “Fellow student, do you need a guide to your dorm?”

Most of the Alpha’s who came to volunteer are also new to Omegas. Being able to ask for a phone number at the beginning of the school year is the first step in getting closer to their dream school life.

In a military academy like the Imperial Navy University, where the Alpha-Omega ratio was close to 99:1, the existence of Omegas were as rare as a national treasure. Although on normal days of school, they did not meet anyone they took a liking to, these sort of sudden attractions do not come often. After meeting someone they really like, they must make a move quickly. After all, everyone knew that the first one to do so would have a better chance.

These Alpha’s eyes were like wolves, but Lu Jingning was used to it. He gently scratched his head, “I’m not going to the dormitory. I just came to ask for directions to our school’s gym, how do I get there?”

The flathead could vaguely sense that this Omega gave off a different vibe than the ones he usually saw. At first, he didn’t think much of it, freezing for a second before replying, “You’re going to the arena?”

Lu Jingning: “Hmm? Isn’t the opening challenge in the arena?”

Someone else responded first and pointed him in the right direction, “See that building with the triangle at the top? That’s it.”

Lu Jingning looked back and instantly understood, smiling and waving at them, “Thanks.”

He carried his shoulder bag which was dangling loosely, and without further ado, turned towards the direction of the arena and strolled off in scatterbrained manner.

Several men watched him leave, exchanging somewhat confused looks and a few quiet words.

Since when were Omegas interested in violent, bloody challenges like that too?

Of course it’s impossible for them to participate. Could it be that he had a date there?

Motherfker. What a beauty, has it already been eaten up by a wolf? How spiteful!

Lu Jingning had long since walked away, unaware of the unimportant thoughts in those people’s hearts, or rather, he never cared.

The communicator in his trouser pocket vibrated lightly twice. He took it out and looked at the caller, before answering it with slight disinterest. He didn’t wait for the person on the other side to speak, instead, he shouted impatiently: “All right, all right. Don’t rush me, I’ll be there soon!”

Through the phone, deafening cheers could be heard on the other end. Even so, such a brash voice completely overwhelmed Yu Qingcang for a moment: “Can you hurry up? Our freshmen team is about to get destroyed!”

Lu Jingning let out a smile, “What? Didn’t you say that all Alphas are good at everything? Now that there’s no one who can fight, you’re actually counting on me, an Omega? Are you not ashamed?”

Yu Qingcang himself was an Alpha. After he heard this, he almost wanted to spit out a mouthful of blood: “Hurry up and get here. If we were able to fight the seniors so easily, that would’ve meant that they had studied at the Military Academy for several semesters in vain. Besides, what’s wrong with counting on you? After you get down and dirty fighting, in what way do you look like an Omega?”

“Are you sure about that?” Lu Jingning raised a brow, “How am I not like an Omega? If that’s the case, why don’t you try finding someone who looks better than me?”

If Yu Qingcang was standing in front of him, he would’ve smashed his communicator directly onto that narcissistic face: “Lu Jingning, it’s none of my business whether you look good or not! Anyway, hurry the f-ck up! Whether you’re an Alpha or an Omega, you’re still a freshman, so if you make us all lose our dignity, don’t think that you will be able to get away with it!”

Lu Jingning held the communicator a few centimetres away from him and waited until Yu Qingcang had finished raging before saying lazily, “Got it, got it. I’ll be right there.”

After saying that, without waiting for his response, he simply hung up.

He looked up at the triangular-roofed building at hand closer before the corners of his mouth rose slightly, “A freshman challenge… Really? Screw it…”

The Freshers’ Opening Challenge was a tradition that has been going on at Imperial Navy University for many years.

All the new students were allowed to challenge their seniors on the opening day of the school year, and if they win, they will be able to secure more military resources for the rest of their studies. It is said that in previous years, those who were able to complete the 1v3 in the Challenger League would become, at the very least, a four-star general in the military after graduation.

That was just a saying. After all, the difference in strength between the new and old students was huge. Let alone a one-vs-three, even if they could defeat a single senior by chance, they will not be able to defeat them in a one-vs-three. It was for this reason that this challenge was also known as ‘The rookie’s death festival’.

Even so, in order to win the military resources, which are regulated very tightly, every freshman who was a little confident in his own strength would have the idea to give it a try.

Anyway, it’s not a big deal getting beat up as soon as school starts. It’s not as if they’ll lose a pound of their flesh.

In this kind of Alpha-ridden military academy, the Omegas were not physically superior by nature. As such, all the Omega freshmen in past years have basically chosen to give up on the challenge in silence out of great self-consciousness. That was why those older seniors subconsciously only thought that Lu Jingning was there to look for someone. They didn’t even make the slightest connection with him to the competition.

Lu Jingning’s family was good and it was a well-known family that owned some mining areas. As such, he didn’t care much for the miniscule school resources, nor was he like those Alpha born with a superiority complex wanting to have a sense of superiority over others.

Saying that he was going to fight for the freshmen sake was very much wrong. It was more like he was preparing to demolish the space containing all-Alphas.

Since he was a child, Lu Kongbin1MC’s father. had always hoped to have an Alpha to inherit the family business, but when Lu Jingning, his third child, was born, he was still an Omega.

Although Lu Jingning didn’t say it on the surface, the weight in his heart never disappeared since he was a child. As he grew older, he acted even more indulgently, like a hedgehog full of thorns, he stabbed whoever he could.

Just before this school year started in the summer, he had just gone through his first heat when the doctor said that his pheromones were a bit peculiar and that he would not be very good at finding an Alpha match in the future.

Recalling the scene, Lu Jingning couldn’t help but feel a bit like laughing again.

Tsk, what’s so great about those Alphas? They still got weak in the knees when they stood in front of him. It’s not like the olden days when the Alphas were strong and the Omegas were weak. Now, whoever had the stronger pheromones and were able to use them better were the real boss!

Lu Jingning thought this, and with one hand on his shoulder bag, he walked into the arena with a wide, confident stride.

He thought Yu Qingcang the husky, would wag his tail and kneel three times to invite him in as their saviour. However, after standing at the door for half a day, he didn’t manage to spot the familiar big guy.

Lu Jingning couldn’t help but wrinkle his brows in displeasure and pulled out his communicator, “What’s wrong with you, Yu Qingcang? I’m at the door, don’t you know to come and pick me up?”

It was only after a long time that Yu Qingcang’s gruff voice came from the other end of the line: “Ahhhhh, wait, wait a little! I’ll come over after I finish watching this game! F-ck, this is too f-cking good!”

“……”

Lu Jingning: “You don’t have to come over anymore after watching this game!”

Without giving Yu Qingcang a chance to plead bitterly, he hung up the communication with an expressionless face and looked up towards the centre of the arena.

Lu Jingning couldn’’t see the specifics of the stage from where he is standing now, but he could see the huge LCD screen at the very centre.

The tall boy on-stage happened to kick over the guy opposite him into a crisp. It was a textbook demonstration, without a hint of delay.  It was clear that he too had undergone professional combat training.

Lu Jingning raised his eyebrows thoughtfully, seeming to understand why Yu Qingcang, a no-good guy, had also taken a liking just now.

Even to someone as judgemental and picky as he was, the face on the screen was perfect.

This person’s entire body exuded a faintly cold aura. On the battlefield, that unique aura was ideal for creating a sense of oppression. However, on a normal day, one may attribute it to one of forbidden temptations and a fatal attraction.

But this is only applied to ordinary people. In Lu Jingning’s mind, only one particularly apt adjective remains: pretentious.

The Alpha breed has always come from a high place. It is normal for a slightly stronger one to stand a little more proud.

Lu Jingning stood there for a moment with narrowed eyes before walking towards the registration desk with his backpack.

The challenge was now drawing to a close and the teachers at the registration desk were watching the action on the field with rapt attention, brows full of awe at the outstanding freshmen.

It wasn’t until an information card was thrown on the table that the teacher came back to his senses as an afterthought. He heard the boy say with a smile, “Teacher, I want to sign up.”

His first impression after looking up was of almost being blinded by the brilliant blonde hair.

The teacher, who was responsible for registering new students every year, had not seen such a good-looking student for a long time and was slightly stunned.

This person doesn’t look like an Alpha, does he?

He took the student information card over and scanned it, confirming his suspicions when he indeed saw the Omega’s registered attributes in the information field. He looked a little hesitant and kindly reminded him, “Dear student, although the challenge is an event organized by the school, it’s really not something to be taken lightly. There are many people who forfeit their strength at once and end up in the hospital for ten days to even half a month. Look, do you want to reconsider?”

Of course Lu Jingning knew what the other party was thinking and sneered in his heart, but on the surface he merely raised his eyelashes in a casual manner, “There’s no need to think about it.”

The teacher sighed helplessly at his overly eye-catching face and shook his head as he completed his registration, sighing even more internally.

This kind of delicate and good-looking Omega was well-suited to be placed in the rear as a cheerleader, but he wanted to run towards the battlefield. Now it seems that they could only hope that the seniors on the other side would know how to show some mercy.

After all, it’s a shame to bruise such a beautiful angelic face.

(Vol.2) Chapter 1 – I’ve been waiting for you for a long time

Chapter 1 – I’ve been waiting for you for a long time

In the ward, Shen Qinghong looked like she was in good spirits, lying on the hospital bed looking at Qi Yun in a wheelchair. She was treated several times after being critically ill. Even the doctors had to sigh as the patient’s will to survive was very strong. Today’s Shen Qinghong was like a candle wick, burning till the end after returning to the light.

There were only Shen Qinghong and Qi Yun in the ward. Qi Yun looked indifferently ahead. No one knew what he was thinking. Shen Qinghong coughed twice, “I’m very happy that you came to see me.”

Qi Yun set his eyes on Shen Qinghong. It was not obvious, but the haggard outline and the scent of death were both very familiar to Qi Yun. He once smelled this kind of scent on himself and thought he would die, but he was pulled back abruptly.

“Where can I find Wanwan?”

Shen Qinghong was stunned for a moment, before she laughed twice, “I can’t find him, Yun’er. You’ve been calculating and thinking about everything, but there is one thing that you haven’t figured out yet, that emotions cannot be calculated.”

Qi Yun’s body started trembling without a trace as his hands clenched onto the blanket on his knees. This series of actions were all seen by Shen Qinghong’s eyes.

“If you came to ask me, you must already know his true identity. Yun’er, did you know why the Xing family collapsed so badly after Xing Yanyin died? It was only in Xing Yanyin’s grandfather’s generation that he moved to the south of the Yangtze River. He had gotten such influence in a short period of time, so the dark secrets buried in the country were deeply rooted before reaching their peak in Xing Yanyin’s generation. That’s why Qi Zongcheng would ignore Xing Zhongjie’s marriage contract in those days. Cough cough.”

Shen Qinghong took a deep breath and slowed down, “With such a family background, how could they possibly become weaker? One of the reasons may be Xing Zhengping’s poor ability, but the root cause of it is the most important one.

The reason for this is, before Xing Yanyin died, the assets of the Xing family in China were transferred and Xing Zhengping might not have even received one-third of the original Xing family’s fortune. What do you think Xing Yanyin did this for? Ahem. Of course it was for his only son. “

Qi Yun asked in disbelief, “Son?” Although he had his own answer in his heart, the answer was too shocking.

“That’s right, son.” Shen Qinghong took a photo from the bedside and stretched out her hand. Qi Yun rolled his own wheelchair and slid forward before taking the photo.

Qi Yun couldn’t see clearly, but there were vaguely three people, and one of them was a baby?

“You probably know something about the previous generation of the Xing family. Xing Zhongwan’s mother was the adopted daughter of Xing Yanyin. Qian Yi was 8 years old when Xing Yanyin adopted her. You haven’t seen Xing Yanyin when he was young, so you don’t know how sensational his appearance was in the circle back then. Originally he was of mixed race, so those slightly bluish eyes have attracted many men and women. But he never got married all his life, and for whom? For the girl he picked up in Jiangnan. In the early years, he loved her and wanted to give her an identity, so he let her enter the Xing family’s tree, but he did not expect that this decision would become a shackle for their whole life. “

Shen Qinghong wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, “Qian Yi never wanted to call Xing Yanyin’s her father. I thought Xing Yanyin was too young and the ten-year age gap between them was not much between them. I told her to find another way out but she became pregnant. I didn’t know who the child was when the news came out that she and Xing Zhengping were engaged. Qian Yi did not seem happy. After all, how could such a man be worthy of her. After the child was born, I still remember those eyes full of shock and stinging pain at that time. It was the despair and pain in Qian Yi’s eyes which made me realize everything. I knew everything but I could only bury it in my heart. I couldn’t communicate with the Xing family and was sent abroad by your grandmother. When I got the news, Xing Yanyin was already dead while Qian Yi and her child were expelled from the Xing family. The reason is that the child was born from an unknown father and the parent-child test was an ironclad piece of evidence. Did you know what I thought when I heard the news? It really fit her personality, that she would rather be stigmatized by everyone than let anyone have a chance to slander Xing Yanyin.”

“Regardless of your grandma’s obstruction, I wanted to take the mother and son pair out of the country. However, I didn’t expect to be a step too late. When I came back, the mother and son had already arranged to go abroad. Your grandma said that everything happens for a reason and that I shouldn’t be obsessed, but I still don’t understand it. It was not until a few days ago that Xing Zhongwan used his hidden connections buried deep in the country for you that I suddenly realized that Xing Yanyin had already arranged a way out for the mother and son pair. Them being kicked out of the Xing family was a good opportunity for them to stay away from the tough decisions of being in the circle. He has already arranged everything for his favorite woman and child abroad.”

“Yun’er, the power of the Xing family is by no means as simple as you think. After operating overseas for many years, Xing Zhongwan won’t make it easy for you to find him. After all, it was you who made a mistake first. That child came back to repay your grandmother’s kindness. He has contributed a lot and now that you are well, him leaving was for the best choice to make for him and you. Why are you still being so persistent?”

Qi Yun’s back stiffened, he knew that Shen Qinghong was telling the truth. These days, he had secretly searched for a long time but there was no clue, which made him very panicked. How could a real living person just disappear?

Qi Yun suddenly slumped his shoulders angrily, “I love him.”

Shen Qinghong was stunned for a moment, but suddenly her heart became clear as her smile was bitter.

It was really predestined. Perhaps in the early years, after Xing Yanyin had sent the bracelet, their fate was firmly set in stone.

Well, it was all unexpected.

“Yun’er, I know you don’t like me, but I still want to tell you that if you still want to find him, your current position is not enough. You have to continue to climb up. The Shen family is not the most suitable springboard. Go back to the Qi family. The Qi family is in chaos now, but your body is gradually recovering so Qi Zongcheng will help you.”

She took out a document that had been prepared a long time ago and handed it to him, “Give this to Qi Zongcheng. You are the rightful heir of the Qi family.”

Qi Yun took it, “What is it?”

Shen Qinghong said, “His leash. I have been investigating this secretly for so many years. No matter how careful he is, he will give way.”

“Why are you helping me?”

Qi Yun held the thick stack. He clearly understood what he could get in exchange for this, but why was Shen Qinghong doing this for him?

Shen Qinghong closed her eyes, a little out of strength, “I adopted a child in my early years and I hope you can take care of him after I die. He is a simple child and won’t threaten your position. Since you won’t use Chen Ying again and now, you still need a trustworthy person by your side.”

Qi Yun’s ears were constantly filled with the sound of coughing. Her dying breath was getting heavier and heavier. In his mind, Shen Qinghong was beautiful and powerful, not someone who lay on a bed, dying now.

“I promise you.”

The unimportant words made Shen Qinghong’s heart fall to the ground.

“Go ahead. If you ever get a chance to meet that kid again, give him this picture.”

Qi Yun put the photo in his hand in the bag on his chest. When he turned the wheelchair to go out, he asked, “At that time, when you were hiding my illness. Did you really want me to die?”

Shen Qinghong behind him chuckled and he didn’t get an answer for a long time.

Qi Yun walked out of the door of the ward and the entourage behind him immediately followed. Qi Yun closed his eyes. His father died when he was very young. At the time, he hid in the corner and cried alone. No one found him, and only Shen Qinghong noticed him.

The small boy was picked up and the woman looked at him very seriously, “Why are you crying? Tears can’t solve any problems.”

“Dad is dead.” The young Qi Yun wiped away his tears that flooded his eyes.

Shen Qinghong laughed suddenly before patting his head, “You still have an aunt.”

There was a sudden commotion around him as the doctor and nurse anxiously ran into the ward he just came out from. Qi Yun opened his eyes and put his right hand on his heart where the photo was.

Shen Qinghong was dead. At the funeral, a young man in his twenties burst into tears while holding her portrait as Qi Yun sat in a wheelchair in a black suit without saying a word.

From this moment on, the Shen family’s huge family business has switched to a new owner.

Sitting in a wheelchair, Yi-n Yu Qing Leng looked at the brand-new tombstone and placed a bunch of daisies in front of him.

After coming out of the cemetery, the young man wiped his tears and followed Qi Yun who glanced at him.

“What’s your name?”

The young man was stunned and did not dare to look at him. “Shen Congxin.”

The attendant opened the car door, but Qi Yun did not look back, “Follow me.”

Shen Congxin was stunned for a moment, before crying out with a sad face, “Big cousin!”

Half a year later.

The old house of the Xing family in Jiangnan welcomed a special guest. Uncle Zhong opened the door and looked at the man standing in front of the car. Although he was leaning on crutches, he was standing tall, straight and handsome. That face made Uncle Zhong stunned for a moment. He was really good-looking, especially his eyes, and they were bright enough to shine into people’s hearts.

Old Uncle Zhong smiled, suppressing his hostility.

“I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”
