Chapter 27

       How did they get here?

       At this time too…

Xu Ye didn’t know what expression he had on his face at this moment. He only felt that the blood in his body had frozen and rapidly lost its temperature. He stood stiffly at the door, watching Xu Ting and Song Wanhua’s respectful and polite flattery to the visitor, watching the polite but indifferent smile on Chu Yu’s face, watching him walking towards him step by step. It was as if a sticky paste had been poured into his head, and he couldn’t move anymore.

“What are you doing here?” Xu Ting accompanied Chu Yu to the front of the building. He saw Xu Ye standing at the door with a dazed expression on his face, scolded him in a low voice, and turned to introduce Chu Yu, “Second Young Master, this is my son, Xu Ye.”

Xu Ye trembled as if waking up from a dream, his eyes trembled, and he looked at the man in panic.

Chu Yu stood under a few steps and looked towards him. His eyes were light and distant, “I remember we met at the hospital once before, didn’t we?”

Xu Ye’s heart stopped suddenly. He moved his lips but said nothing. The atmosphere was momentarily awkward. Xu Ting immediately came to the rescue, “This is the boy who offended the third young man with his recklessness and ignorance. The Second Young Master didn’t blame him and would give away the painting as a gift. Your magnanimity is truly admirable.”

Chu Xuan smiled moderately behind him and asked Song Wanhua on the side, “Uncle Song, does this house belong to you?”

“I built it ten years ago and have since renovated it. The main reason is that the environment here is nice and quiet, which is suitable for the elderly like us to recuperate.” Song Wanhua replied.

“I think this is not only suitable for the elderly to maintain their health but also very suitable for young people to have a tryst.” Chu Xuan’s eyes were fixed on Xu Ye, and he arched his eyebrows in a meaningful smile, “I have long heard that the two families are interested in tying the knot. So it seems that the two heirs are indeed a good match.”

These words made Xu Ting and Song Wanhua laugh. Song Wanhua quickly took the opportunity to solicit, “If the two of them do become a couple, we must invite you to a wedding banquet.”

Song Yueran blushed, moved to the side behind Xu Ye, and said coquettishly, “Dad, what are you talking about…”

Xu Ye’s face turned white, his arms hanging by his sides were tense, and his eyes were shaking. He didn’t know where to look, but he still couldn’t completely leave the man who was close at hand. He wanted to explain, but he couldn’t explain. So he could only stand speechlessly as if a boulder pressed his chest, and he was so stuffy that he couldn’t breathe.

The corners of Chu Yu’s mouth slowly rose, but there was no trace of a smile in his eyes. He looked into Xu Ye’s eyes, and he said word by word, “I am looking forward to that day.”

Xu Ye’s pupils shrank suddenly, and he even stopped breathing. He felt himself being yanked back by Song Yuran and took a step backwards stiffly, allowing the man to walk past him. The white coat that he was wearing brought up waves of the air, and the familiar smell of perfume passed before his eyes.

It was the first time Xu Ye felt so panicked. It was as if he had been kicked down from a height of ten thousand feet, losing all sense of security that he could cling to.

“What’s wrong with you?” Song Yueran asked worriedly, “You look so pale.”

Xu Ye shook his head and smiled bitterly.

Chu Yu and Chu Xuan came to discuss business.

Xu Ye heard the general picture from their conversation. Early this morning, Song Wannian received a call from Chu Xuan, asking him to discuss the development of the land in Donglin. The third young master said lightly, “The meeting room is too boring. I heard that the scenery of Qianchuan is beautiful”, and Song Wannian immediately invited them here.

Xu Ye was not stupid, he didn’t think that someone like Chu Xuan would be keen to discuss projects with the two old foxes on his day off, and he also didn’t think that Chu Xuan would happen to know that Song Wannian has such a secret villa in Qingchuan. The only answer was that he had been instructed to do so.

Someone with an insight into the flow of information.

Someone who could easily control his own movements.

Someone who could command Chu Xuan.

       Who else could it be?

Not a moment too soon, not a moment too late. It was at the exact moment when he was staying out for a night alone, with a cold and strong sense of oppression, that made him feel at a loss for what to do and his heart beating like a drum. At this moment, this man named Chu Yu was telling him clearly that no matter where he was or what he had done, everything about him was under this man’s control. When he thought about it carefully, the sentence ‘Don’t always let me hear the word ‘sorry’’ was not idle talk but a warning.

He had been warned a long time ago, but he had foolishly and ignorantly broken the taboo.

Xu Ye’s eyes shakily circled around the man, and his palms were covered with cold sweat. But the other party didn’t look at him at all and was listening to Xu Ting’s presentation of the project while flipping through the architectural design booklet.

In terms of psychological stalemate, Xu Ye was no match for Chu Yu. He couldn’t figure out the other person’s mind at all and didn’t know what he would do to him. It was like having a shiny guillotine hanging over his head, not knowing when it would fall down and end him. All of his emotions were tugged and pulled out in a long wave of anxiety and panic.

His previous few painful experiences gave Xu Ye a clear picture of what would happen to him if he angered Chu Yu. At this moment, his only thought was to explain everything before the situation worsened. After he thought about it, he took out his phone, typed and deleted a message, briefly explained what happened yesterday, especially last night, and then sent it.

The phone on the table lit up. Chu Yu only glanced at the sender and put it aside, not even bothering to look closely. But Chu Xuan, who was sitting beside him, looked over at Xu Ye, his eyebrows and eyes all filled with teasing.

Xu Ye’s face was as white as frost.

Under Song Wannian’s careful arrangement, the Chinese foods served were exquisite and interesting. There were no four seafood delicacies1abalone, sea cucumber, shark fin, and fish maw, no greasy fishy smell, only seasonal fresh vegetables were selected for a few small stir-fries, and the non-vegetarian dishes were served with tender bamboo shoots paired up with bacon, steamed mullet fish, and a stewed old duck soup pot. Obviously suits the light taste of the two young masters. It was indeed a skill to cater to one’s preferences in a short period of time.

Xu Ye had no appetite at all, so he didn’t move his chopsticks after taking two bites. But he didn’t dare to leave the table, so he could only sit and keep company.

After the meal, Chu Xuan proposed to go for a walk on the mountain, so the group walked along the mountain road while talking. Xu Ye was full of desire to speak, but he kept hesitating. He finally waited for the distance between the few people on the narrow mountain road to widen. He quickened his pace and chased after Chu Yu, not daring to walk with him, so he could only call out in a low voice behind him, “Master…”

Chu Yu’s footsteps paused slightly, and he turned to his side. His starry eyes shimmered with dim and unclear light amidst the swaying shadows of the trees.

Xu Ye felt that the sight could almost penetrate his skin and bones. He froze from head to toe and muttered, “Can you give me a chance to explain…”

When he heard this sentence, Chu Yu’s eyes showed a hint of amusement, and he asked with a half-smile, “What do you want to explain?”

Xu Ye didn’t expect that he was willing to listen, so he was taken aback for a while and immediately explained what happened yesterday honestly.

The man stood under the tree and listened quietly. When he saw that Xu Ye had stopped speaking, he asked, “Are you finished?”

Xu Ye responded in a low voice, “Yes, I am.”

“Okay.” Chu Yu narrowed his gaze slightly, “Now it’s my turn to ask you an answer. Did anyone force you to go to Song Yuran’s appointment?”

“At the time, I thought it was a family gathering…” Xu Ye was anxious to defend himself, but he was interrupted.

The man’s voice was as cold as water, “I don’t want to hear unnecessary explanations.”

“…No.” Xu Ye lowered his eyes and answered. He did indeed enter the gate of this villa himself.

“Did you get a chance to leave before the two of you spent the night together?”

Xu Ye lowered his head and said dryly, “Yes.” With the convenience of communication facilities, if he insisted on leaving, he could have done so, but he did not.

“Raise your head.” Chu Yu’s voice was deep and cold, with undeniable strength.

Xu Ye trembled and raised his face. His eyes were full of fear.

“I allow you to make friends and arrange your own time.” The man’s eyes seemed to be full of wind and snow, “Did I allow you to stay out at night and share a bed with others?”

“…You didn’t.” Xu Ye didn’t dare to lower his head. His eyes were full of panic and regret as he bit his lips after forcing out the words.

“One last question. Before I got here, did you ever think about asking me for help or telling me everything?” This was what Chu Yu really cared about. Xu Ye’s attitude towards him seemed intimate, but there was a thick barrier behind him. He didn’t rely on him, he didn’t bother him, and he even tried to hide things from him when something happened.

Xu Ye opened his mouth but did not make a sound. His gaze trembled so much that he could only murmur, “Master…. I was wrong….”

The corner of Chu Yu’s lips lifted into a faint smile, his voice was gentle, yet it carried a pervasive coldness, “Xu Ye, there are many ways to play the game between you and me, but you have to choose the most unpleasant one.”

While talking, the people who were walking in front had turned back, and the group returned to the villa again and ate some fruits. Chu Xuan looked at his watch and said that there were still arrangements in the afternoon, so he wanted to leave.

Xu Ting and Song Wanhua rushed out, followed by Xu Ye and Song Yueran.

Chu Yu stood upright on the steps, turned around and asked casually, “Which party is leading the investment this time?”

Both Xu Ting and Song Wanhua were taken aback. The second young master Chu smiled faintly, “This piece of land has been in my father’s hands for some years. I mentioned to him the matter of building a resort a few days ago, and he is quite interested. Although there are many resorts under the Golden Eagle, there are only a few good ones. The idea that Xu Ye mentioned just now is very good, and it has been carefully considered, which is a little more innovative than the booklet Uncle Song showed me before.”

After these words were said, the whole room fell silent. Song Wanhua suddenly looked sideways at Xu Ting, who looked at Xu Ye blankly, and Song Yueran also looked at Xu Ye with wide eyes.

Xu Ye froze, feeling cold sweat on his palms and forehead. Everyone had seen how he had spoken to Chu Yu just now, but he could not refute Chu Yu’s words, so he could only remain silent. His silence is equivalent to acquiescing that the Xu family had set up a new scheme on the back of the Song family.

The Xu family had secretly made a different design to bypass the Song family and work directly with Golden Eagle. How could the Song family tolerate such an act of crossing the river and demolishing the bridge2betrayal?

Song Wanhua sneered, “This is a very good move by brother Xu.”

Xu Ting didn’t know what was going on and wondered if his son really had some good idea that won the second young master’s approval. He felt very happy to have the Golden Eagle’s attention, so he laughed and said, “I also don’t know. It must be this kid’s own idea.”

How could Song Wanhua believe it? Since the two Chu family members were present, they couldn’t have a fit, so he kept his face darkened and didn’t speak.

Chu Xuan hid any expression on his face, and when he saw Xu Ye’s changing expression, he couldn’t help laughing inside. He had been temporarily recruited as the second-in-command, and the business talk was just a cover. The real purpose of this trip was for his second brother to teach his unruly pet a lesson. Just a few words made the two families that were close enough to form an alliance, became full of suspicion. This was a very sharp move to cut off the root of the problem. The alliance between the Xu and Song families was probably about to break down, and the fate between Xu Ye and his rumoured girlfriend had also come to an end.

“Xu Ye, I’m very interested in your design concept and business philosophy.” Chu Yu got into the car with a faint smile on his face, “How about taking my car back and discussing it in detail on the way?”

Xu Ye only felt a chill run through his body. The tenderness this man gave him made him sometimes completely forget the other identity of the other party—the second young master of the wealthy family who called the wind and rain and covered the sky with one hand. When Chu Yu withdraws his gentleness, everything would be turned into a disaster.

Xu Ting was overjoyed to see the invitation from the second young master and gave his son a push. Song Wanhua was so angry that his hands were shaking, and he stood silently with his preoccupied daughter. Chu Xuan gave up the back seat with a wink and went to the back of the car.

Xu Ye got into the car with a pale face without saying a word and sat next to Chu Yu.

The extended Mercedes-Benz S550 gallops on the mountain road.

Silence filled the entire carriage, and the whole mood was depressing. Xu Ye plucked up his courage and tentatively called out, “Sir…” There was a driver, so he changed how he addressed Chu Yu.

The man glanced at him from the corner of his eyes and said, “Do you want to talk about design with me as a collaborator, or do you want to talk about other things with me?”

Xu Ye was stunned momentarily and replied, “I don’t understand design.”

“Okay.” Chu Yu pressed a button, and the partition screen unfolded, separating the front seats and enclosing the rear seats into a relatively airtight space. He looked at Xu Ye indifferently and said, “Then show the appearance that a slave should have. Take off your clothes, kneel down, and then talk to me.”

PS: 回HEL亲: It’s true that not every dom and sub pair will fall in love with one another. There are also situations in BDSM where one is together due to physical compatibility, similar to a one-night stand. It is also common for a dom to have multiple subs because of group size differences.

Notes:
I was actually confused on how to say 淺川, if I googled it, it’s called Asakawa, but I felt to translate it as Asakawa would make it awkward since it’s a word that sounds more like a place in Japan instead, so I decided to use the literal pinyin that is Qianchuan

Chapter 80

After Ning Junyan ate briefly, he lay down on the sofa and fell asleep.

But he insisted on sleeping with Chen Yuncheng in his arms. The two of them squeezed together on the narrow leather sofa, facing each other, with Ning Junyan using his arms to hold Chen Yuncheng in his arms.

Chen Yuncheng felt that it was too crowded and thought it would be difficult to fall asleep, but because he was too tired, he fell asleep unconsciously, leaning against Ning Junyan’s arms.

After they both slept until almost six o’clock in the afternoon, Chen Yuncheng woke up by himself and found that he was lying in Ning Junyan’s arms, and Ning Junyan was pinned underneath him.

Chen Yuncheng’s first reaction was to get up with his hands on the sofa. He was afraid that he would crush Ning Junyan, but Ning Junyan’s arm was still around his waist. As soon as he moved, Ning Junyan hugged him back with force.

Ning Junyan put his hand on Chen Yuncheng’s head, “Sleep a little longer.”

Chen Yuncheng said, “Let’s sleep in a different position.”

Ning Junyan opened his eyes, his expression was still unclear. He just looked straight at Chen Yuncheng and said, “What position do you like?”

Chen Yuncheng smiled, pretending not to understand the meaning of his words, raised his hand and touched his face, “I’m afraid I’ll crush you. Your brain is already bad; what if something else happens to your body?”

Ning Junyan said, “Then you’ll be responsible.”

Despite what he said, Ning Junyan didn’t hold on for too long. He hugged Chen Yuncheng for a while, then let go and got up from the sofa together with him.

Ning Junyan went out for a while, and when he returned, he said to Chen Yuncheng, “Let’s go back first.”

Chen Yuncheng asked him, “Don’t you need to keep watch here tonight?”

Ning Junyan shook his head, “He’s still in the ICU, and his family members can’t go in to take care of him, and Director Yu is on duty tonight, he will handle the situation properly.”

Chen Yuncheng and Ning Junyan left the office together. When he saw Ning Junyan lock the door, he couldn’t help but ask, “Do I need to go and have a look?”

“No,” Ning Junyan said calmly, “You can’t get in either.” He locked the door, turned around and kissed Chen Yuncheng’s forehead, “It’ll be fine.”

Ning Junyan took Chen Yuncheng’s hand and left. Chen Yuncheng felt a little bad as he watched people coming and going in the corridor of the ward, but considering Ning Junyan’s mood at this time, he couldn’t bear to let go of his hand.

They had just walked two steps and saw Shu Rong in the corridor leading to the ward.

Shu Rong was still wearing the dress from last night, with a coat over it, and no makeup on her face, but her hair had been combed again.

Her gaze fell on Ning Junyan’s hand that was holding Chen Yuncheng’s.

Chen Yuncheng just moved his fingers, and Ning Junyan held them even tighter.

“What’s the matter?” Ning Junyan asked.

Shu Rong raised her eyes to look at Ning Junyan, “Aren’t you going back to accompany mom tonight?”

Ning Junyan said, “I need to have a good rest. Aunt is at home. If you really can’t sleep well, you can ask aunt to come and accompany you. I can’t stay with you all night now.”

Shu Rong asked, “Does Yuncheng still live at your place?”

Ning Junyan frowned lightly and said to Shu Rong, “Don’t interfere in my private affairs.”

Shu Rong’s tone was a little tired, “Your father is still lying in the ICU, and you want to talk to your mother like this?”

Ning Junyan said, “Dad is still lying in the ICU. It’s even more pointless for us to talk about this now. Why don’t we all go back early and rest so that we can have energy tomorrow.” After he said that, he took Chen Yuncheng’s hand and walked forward.

When he passed by Shu Rong’s side, Chen Yuncheng was a little embarrassed but still didn’t say anything.

They went to take the elevator directly down to the underground parking lot of the hospital.

Chen Yuncheng didn’t feel too good and said to Ning Junyan in the elevator, “Why don’t you send Auntie back first?”

Ning Junyan said, “Don’t worry. Someone will pick her up.”

Chen Yuncheng wanted to say something but stopped.

Ning Junyan asked him, “What do you want to say?”

Chen Yuncheng hesitated but said, “She’s your mother after all; there’s no need to make things so stiff.”

Ning Junyan replied, “It’s not stiff. Our relationship has always been like this.”

When the elevator arrived, they walked out one after the other. Chen Yuncheng followed Ning Junyan and said to him, “Your mother will definitely object when she finds out about us.”

Ning Junyan’s car was parked in the parking space not far from the elevator. He took out the car key from his pocket to unlock the door and said, “It’s none of her business.”

Chen Yuncheng paused momentarily before following him again, “Then whose business is it?”

Ning Junyan said, “It’s no one’s business but yours and mine.”

After they got into the car, Chen Yuncheng gave up his original idea of going back to the store and followed Ning Junyan directly home.

After Chen Yuncheng took a shower in the evening, he folded his suit in his pyjamas and put it in a bag, ready to send it to be washed tomorrow.

He had wrinkled this set of clothes, and he couldn’t help but feel heartbroken at the thought of buying it for two thousand dollars.

Ning Junyan was still in the bathroom. Chen Yuncheng felt sorry for him because he worked too hard, so he put hot water in the bathtub for him to soak in. The bathroom was now quiet and silent, without a sound.

Chen Yuncheng waited for a while and felt a little uneasy. He opened the door and went in to see Ning Junyan lying in the bathtub with his head leaning against the outside of the bathtub, and his eyes closed as if he was asleep.

He walked over gently, squatted down outside the bathtub, and reached out to touch Ning Junyan’s face.

Ning Junyan opened his eyes, glanced at him through the hazy mist, and reached out to hug him in.

Chen Yuncheng hurriedly struggled, he didn’t have many clothes left here with Ning Junyan, only this set of pyjamas now, and said, “I won’t have any clothes to wear tonight if they get wet.”

Ning Junyan said lazily, “You don’t need to wear clothes.”

       Chen Yuncheng smiled, “Nonsense.”

Ning Junyan maintained the posture of lying in the bathtub, bare his body in front of Chen Yuncheng indifferently, and stroked Chen Yuncheng’s hair with his wet palm.

Chen Yuncheng rolled up his sleeves and lay on the bathtub’s edge with his arms folded.

Ning Junyan said, “You promised me yesterday that you would move back.”

Chen Yuncheng asked him, “I promised you?”

Ning Junyan let out an “En”.

Chen Yuncheng thought for a while and said seriously, “It’s not that I don’t want to live with you, but this is too far from the market, and I’m too busy at work to take care of it. I’ll move some things over and come over every day whenever I’m free, and when you’re on duty, or I’m too busy until it’s too late, I’ll sleep in the shop. What do you think?”

Ning Junyan didn’t answer, his hand still resting on Chen Yuncheng’s head as his eyes slowly swept over the entire bathroom.

“What’s the matter?” Chen Yuncheng asked him.

Ning Junyan said, “Let’s change the house, somewhere more convenient for you.”

Chen Yuncheng said, “No need. It costs money and energy.”

Ning Junyan said, “We can install a big bathtub in the bathroom.”

Chen Yuncheng asked him with a smile, “What else do you have in mind?”

Ning Junyan was really giving it a thought, “Putting mirrors on all four walls and the ceiling of the bedroom?”

“Are you crazy?” Chen Yuncheng smiled, “Won’t you be afraid at night?”

Ning Junyan said, “Afraid of what?”

“I’m afraid you are not in your right mind,” he reached out to touch the water in the bathtub, it was much cooler than before, so he said, “Stop soaking, get up.”

Ning Junyan stretched out his hands towards him.

Chen Yuncheng stood up, grabbed his hand and pulled him up from the bathtub, reached out and handed him the towel. He then bent down to drain the water in the bathtub.

Ning Junyan wiped the water on his chest and back with a towel, and asked Chen Yuncheng, “Why don’t you carry me up?”

Chen Yuncheng said, “You should dry your body quickly, and I will carry you to the bed.”

Ning Junyan wiped off the water on his body, and Chen Yuncheng really stretched out his hand to carry him, but he had just wrapped his arms around Ning Junyan’s waist before he could make any effort, Ning Junyan picked him up.

Chen Yuncheng quickly put his arms around Ning Junyan’s neck and was carried out by Ning Junyan and thrown on the bed.

The author has something to say:
I have some important things to do tomorrow, and I feel anxious today, and I can’t concentrate on my writing.

Notes:
Yeah, not everyone have a friendly relationship with their parents, especially with a mom like Shu Rong *cries in being child of tiger mom*

Chapter 79

Shu Rong herself was a medical student, she certainly knew how dangerous aortic dissection was. She showed a very brief expression of panic before saying, “Don’t go, call Director Yu over here.”

Ning Junyan looked too calm, he said, “I can go.”

Shu Rong thought a lot in a short time, and her attitude was as tough as Ning Junyan’s, “Don’t you do it, and your dad won’t approve of you going on this surgery.”

Ning Junyan turned around and left, “I’ve already asked to arrange for emergency surgery.”

Shu Rong was a little flustered, she suddenly said to Chen Yuncheng, “Yuncheng, help me persuade him, if there is anything wrong with this operation, it will be very bad for him and his father, he’d better not do it.”

Chen Yuncheng heard Shu Rong’s words. He subconsciously followed Ning Junyan and called out, “Junyan.”

Ning Junyan stopped, turned around and looked at Chen Yuncheng, with a steady tone, “I said it’s fine.”

Chen Yuncheng didn’t know so much, nor did he know what exactly Shu Rong was talking about when she said it was bad. He was just worried about Ning Junyan, and said, “Care to reconsider?”

Ning Junyan said, “Others can’t do it, but I can. Do you believe me?”

Chen Yuncheng replied, “Of course I believe you.”

Ning Junyan said to him, “You agreed to come to me tomorrow night.” After speaking, he glanced at the time on his watch, “It should be tonight, I’ll be waiting for you.”

Chen Yuncheng still did not choose to leave, and he was really uneasy. Even if he went back now, he was not in the mood to rest and work, he might as well stay and wait for news from Ning Junyan.

Even though he knew that Shu Rong didn’t want to see him, he accompanied Shu Rong to wait outside the operating room.

Soon after the operation started, the chief of cardiac surgery, Director Yu rushed to the hospital, greeted Shu Rong and entered the operating room.

Shu Rong’s pale face finally recovered a little, and she sat on the bench outside the operating room with her arms folded.

It was a bit difficult time for Chen Yuncheng. He sat quietly, not looking at his phone or doing anything else, and his eyes kept falling on the closed door of the operating room.

After a while, he realised that Shu Rong was looking at him, but he didn’t turn his head away.

Just now, Ning Junyan had acted a bit ambiguously towards him in front of Shu Rong. Shu Rong was a sensitive woman, and Chen Yun Cheng felt that she probably noticed something, but until now Shu Rong had not mentioned a word about it.

Maybe it was because the time was not right, Shu Rong’s all thoughts were still on the father and son in the operating room, and she couldn’t care about other things for the time being.

At eight o’clock in the morning, Chen Yuncheng was tired and hungry, so he hesitantly asked Shu Rong, “Auntie, do you want to eat something?” He thought he could go and buy breakfast for Shu Rong.

But Shu Rong shook her head with a cold expression.

Chen Yuncheng got up, walked to the end of the corridor, and took a cup of hot water with a paper cup. When he came back and wanted to give the hot water to Shu Rong, he saw three or four more people at the door of the operating room, all of whom were not far from Shu Rong’s age. A woman helping Shu Rong to put on her coat, and someone handing her a thermos cup filled with hot water.

One of the middle-aged men looked seventy to eighty percent similar to Ning Zhanghong. Chen Yuncheng guessed that they might be Ning Zhanghong’s relatives, so he did not approach them but sat on a seat a little further away from the operating theatre and silently drank the hot water in the paper cup.

They stayed at the door of the operating room for a while; some left, and some stayed behind to keep Shu Rong company.

Shu Rong did not glance towards Chen Yuncheng’s side, nor did she introduce Chen Yuncheng’s identity, so Chen Yuncheng sat alone and after a while, feeling too tired, leaned his head back against the wall and fell asleep.

He did not sleep deeply and woke up intermittently in the middle of the night. He noticed that there were more and more people outside the operating room, who should be the family members of other surgical patients in the hospital. He didn’t move and fell asleep again after a while. When he woke up, the people around him changed, only he and Shu Rong were still there, and even the woman who accompanied Shu Rong changed.

It was late afternoon, and the operation had been going on for seven or eight hours since the early hours of the morning.

The moment Chen Yuncheng heard the door of the operating room pushed open, he suddenly woke up from his half-asleep state for some reason and saw Ning Junyan appear at the door of the operating room.

Ning Junyan didn’t even change his clothes yet. He was wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt in the operating room but had already taken off his hat and mask. He first looked at Shu Rong and said, “The operation went well.” Then he walked in the direction of Chen Yuncheng.

Shu Rong raised her hand to cover her chest, and sitting next to Shu Rong was Ning Zhanghong’s younger sister, Ning Zhangyu. She still had questions to ask Ning Junyan, but she didn’t know where he was going, so she got up and called out, “Junyan?”

       Ning Junyan kept walking forward.

Chen Yuncheng stood up, and there were other family members of the patients around him, all of whom looked curiously at the doctor who came out of the operating room.

Ning Junyan walked up to Chen Yuncheng, raised his arms and hugged him hard.

Chen Yuncheng didn’t have time to think about it at all and quickly hugged Ning Junyan back. He felt that Ning Junyan’s whole body strength was pressing on him, and suddenly felt distressed. He patted Ning Junyan on the back and said, “It’s okay.”

Ning Junyan’s voice had the huskiness of over-exhaustion as he said to him, “Since you’re not leaving, go to the office and wait for me.”

       Chen Yuncheng nodded, “Okay.”

Ning Junyan let go, turned and went back in the direction of the operating room. When passing by Shu Rong and the others, Ning Zhangyu looked at him in surprise, but he didn’t say anything and closed the door of the operating room after entering.

Chen Yuncheng noticed that many people were looking at him, so he turned and left, taking the elevator back to the department upstairs.

He walked outside Ning Junyan’s office, tried to open it only to find out that the door was locked, and when he retreated to find a place to sit and wait, the head nurse came over and opened the door for him.

The head nurse met him and asked him, “Are you Chief Ning’s friend? He just called and asked me to open the door for him.”

Chen Yuncheng responded, “Thank you.” After the head nurse left, he opened the door and walked in.

After waiting for another half an hour, Ning Junyan came back in a white coat. He opened the door of the office but did not come in. He said to Chen Yuncheng, “Wait for me a little longer.” Then he went to the doctor’s office to give the postoperative prescriptions.

When he came back again, Ning Junyan raised his hand and locked the office door. He lay directly on the sofa, with his head resting on Chen Yuncheng’s thigh who was sitting in a corner of the sofa, and his two long legs curled up on the other side in a pitiful way.

Ning Junyan hugged Chen Yuncheng’s waist with his hands and buried his face in his arms.

Chen Yuncheng stroked his hair and found it was slightly damp, and said, “Your hair is still wet.”

Ning Junyan said, “I blew it, it will dry soon.” He had taken a shower after the operation.

Chen Yuncheng asked again, “Don’t you need to keep watch over your father?”

Ning Junyan said, “My mother and the rest of the family were there, and I said I needed to rest.”

Chen Yuncheng asked, “Do you want to go back and rest?” He felt that it was not good for Ning Junyan to sleep here.

Ning Junyan shook his head, “I’ll wait a little longer to see.”

After a while, Ning Junyan suddenly raised his head, and asked Chen Yuncheng, “Have you eaten yet?”

Chen Yuncheng said, “I’m not hungry.”

Not hungry meant that he hadn’t eaten yet, so Ning Junyan raised his hand to get his mobile phone and called for someone to bring up food.

Chen Yuncheng said, “Just rest, don’t worry about me.”

Ning Junyan ended the call, put down the phone and said, “I can’t make my wife hungry.”

Chen Yuncheng smiled, his tone was a little more relaxed and asked him, “The operation went well, didn’t it?”

Ning Junyan lay on his lap, looked up at him, and said, “I said I can do it.”

Director Yu rushed over shortly after the operation started, but the operation was still performed by Ning Junyan. He was calmer than everyone imagined. Every time he was on the operating table, Ning Junyan would not be afraid, and his hand holding the scalpel never trembled.

He was not trying to be brave in today’s operation, but he knew that no matter who was lying on the operating table, he was capable of doing his best. So he was unwilling to entrust others to do it. He wanted to take everything that belonged to him in his hands, even if it was his father, whom he was not close to.

Chen Yuncheng looked into Ning Junyan’s eyes, “I know you are the best.” He also felt emotional at this moment, he thought he really loved him.

Ning Junyan said calmly, “Then will you reward me?”

Chen Yuncheng smiled and asked him, “What reward do you want at this time? Are you not tired?”

Ning Junyan said, “I’m tired, but I can’t sleep. I remember I told you that every time I have an operation, I want to vent.”

Chen Yuncheng pretended not to understand, “How do you vent?”

Ning Junyan grabbed his hand and pressed it to his body.

Chen Yuncheng felt unbelievable, “How long has it been since you slept? How can you still get hard now?”

Ning Junyan’s tone was flat, as if he was discussing what to eat tonight with him, and said, “It was just an impulse before, and since I saw you, there have been pictures.”

Chen Yuncheng was suddenly embarrassed to speak.

But Ning Junyan continued, “There are various, do you want to try?”

Chen Yuncheng raised his hand to cover Ning Junyan’s eyes, not letting him look at him, and said in a low voice, “You go to bed first, and I will try with you after you’ve rested enough.”
