Chapter 26

Marvin glanced in the direction of Xu Ye’s past, and mocked lightly, “Your slave has a lot of nerve to leave his master behind to go and spend time with someone else. You’ll spoil him with such indulgence.”

Pharaoh laughed and said, “As far as domestication is concerned, pulling the rein too tight all the time will not be effective. Just give them a tug at the right time to give a warning.”

“That’s why I feel that domestication is troublesome, and I have to start from scratch little by little, and it takes a lot of hard work.” The Lion leaned comfortably on the back of the chair, “It’s nice to have a finished product, it’s easy and convenient to interact with, and it’s not like there’s no other choice.”

The so-called finished products referred to a sub who had received certain training. They understand the meaning of all instructions from their masters, obey the rules and can deeply obey various orders. Their mental state was stable, know their own physical capabilities and can use safe words appropriately. They were able to cooperate with their Dom partner in more intense SM play such as bondage, flogging and some larger-scale sex, and enjoy the pleasure. Under the command of the master, the slave could even open his body for others in a state of deep obedience, allowing themselves to be touched or used at the request of the Dom.

The training process of novice slaves was more complicated. Not only they had to start from the most basic rules step by step, but they were also more mentally unstable. If the master was not in control enough, it was difficult to build up a trusting relationship with the slave, and starting SM activities in such a situation could cause the slave to resist and panic. Therefore, people in the circle call the training of novices ‘domestication’, just like taming and raising wild animals, which required the use of a whip and sweets in combination. This process required Dom to devote more effort and took a longer time.

The Lion was a hedonist, he rarely accepted newcomers. He was more turned on by slaves who bent over backwards for pleasure than by those who blushed and were timid. In fact, he had a good reputation in the circle for being skilled in technique, precise in whipping, intense but gentle in his lovemaking, generous and rich, and trustworthy. In the eyes of subs, The Lion was more enthusiastic and outgoing than the cold Earl, more approachable than the majestic Pharaoh, and more approachable than the inseparable Tom and Jerry, making him the perfect Dom candidate.

However, everyone in the circle knew that Lion’s slave conditioning was a mere game of desire. Whether he showed passionate solicitation or gentle soothing, it was only part of his game. This gentleman-like man enjoyed his slaves’ submissiveness and madness, providing them considerate care and protection, but he would not really be tempted by any slave. For him, BDSM was about each of them taking what they need and then parted ways neatly. However, not everyone was as free and easy as him. Many subs developed feelings of admiration for him, and many of his slaves wanted to develop long-term and fixed relationships, but he flatly rejected them and many returned home in defeat.

Because of this, the speed at which Lion changed slaves was also very fast. The moment the slaves showed excessive dependence and love for him, he would abandon them without hesitation.

       He was passionate yet ruthless.

“Domestication is also fun.” Pharaoh took a sip of the fruit wine, “Don’t you think the look in Xu Ye’s eyes was actually very interesting just now?”

“Nervousness and guilt, and a little…concealment.” The Lion paused for a moment, thought of something, and turned to Chu Yu with a smile, “You deliberately chose to eat here today to give him a warning? It’s a pity that he happily left you to go and accompany the rumoured girlfriend.”

Originally, they didn’t care about this gossip, but it was because Chu Yu had taken Xu Ye as his slave that they had paid some attention. When he saw Xu Ye’s expression just now, the Lion also guessed that it was Song Yueran who came. At first, he thought that Chu Yu came here to pursue a sense of reality in the relationship with Xu Ye, but now it seems that it was not that simple. Chu Yu’s news network was so large that he had probably investigated Song Yeyran, and the purpose of his presence here today was definitely not just for eating.

The steak on the plate was cut open by a silver table knife, revealing a slightly reddish-cut surface. Chu Yu twitched the corner of his mouth slightly, “The joy of domestication lies in the domestication itself. There are other ways than pulling the reins and cracking the whip. Although it is a bit troublesome, it will be more interesting.”

“It’s really complicated.” Marvin was not interested in domestication, so naturally, he didn’t bother to guess his riddle. However, Pharaoh smiled, “I don’t know if it’s luck or misfortune that you’ve taken a fancy to that boy.”

Chu Yu didn’t speak, but gracefully picked up a piece of beef and put it into his mouth, the smile in his eyes contained a clear dark light.

When the three of them left, Xu Ye hurriedly came out, lowered his head and said, “Sir, I’m sorry I couldn’t be more accommodating to you today.”

In front of the crowd, Chu Yu leaned down and whispered in his low voice, “Raise your head up, and don’t let me hear the word ‘sorry’ all the time.” The breath made Xu Ye’s ears flush red, he bit his lip and raised his face.

“Don’t wear glasses.” After Chu Yu finished speaking, he turned and entered the elevator.

Xu Ye took off the black-rimmed glasses and held them in his hands. The elevator doors closed, and the silver mirror reflected his appearance.

A young face, a lingering look in his eyes.

He stared at himself in the mirror, lost in thought.

Xu Ye sent Song Yueran back, and on the way she asked, “Do you actually have important guests today?”

He froze for a moment, then smiled, “Next time you’re coming, it’s best to let me know in advance.”

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t considerate enough.” Song Yueran bit her lips, and her face turned a little red, “Actually, this weekend, my father invited uncle and aunt to play at the villa in Qianchuan. Uncle said that you may not go if you are not in the mood. So I just want to invite you in person…”

The old fox had been really unpredictable recently. Xu Ye felt disgusted in his heart, but he couldn’t vent his anger on Song Yueran, so he had to decline, “Thank you for your invitation, I would love to go, but unfortunately I’m not available for the weekend.”

“Am I causing you any problems?” Song Yueran asked. A woman’s nerves are always delicate and susceptible.

       “No.”

“Xu Ye, I’m not the kind of woman who likes to pester you. I approach you not because of the so-called marriage, but because I think you are someone I could be friends with. I don’t have anyone around me that I can talk to, and I’m very lonely. I don’t want to get involved in the affairs of the elders, I just want to get along with you as friends, so you don’t have to worry about it. If you have a girlfriend and I’m going to make it unpleasant for her, then you can tell me clearly. ” When she spoke, her eyes were forlorn, and she looked a little miserable.

Xu Ye didn’t expect her to say this, and his eyes softened, “I don’t have any problems with you.”

“So, can we come together on weekends? Uncle said that your weekends are always free.” Song Yueran looked at him.

Xu Ye sighed helplessly, “You should have heard that my parents and I don’t get on very well, and I’ve been avoiding spending time with them.”

       “Just keep me company, okay?”

Xu Ye looked at her pleading face and could not say no. After a moment’s hesitation, he nodded.

In the evening, he pondered every word on his phone for a long time and finally sent a text message.

“Master: I have a family gathering this weekend and I can’t come over. Your slave.”

After a moment, a reply arrived.

       It was one short word.

       “Okay.”

It was supposed to be a family dinner for two families. What Xu Ye didn’t expect was that when he arrived at the mountain villa in Qianchuan, he only saw Song Yueran alone.

“Father said that there is something urgent and that he would be late, so he asked the driver to bring me here first to entertain you.” She asked, “How long will it take for uncle and aunt to arrive? I asked the servant to prepare lunch.”

Xu Ye called. Xu Ting said that there was something wrong with a batch of ingredients that needed to be dealt with, and he would come in the afternoon.

Apart from the servants, there were only the two of them left in the big villa, Song Yueran treated him to lunch as the host and then invited him to go around the mountains together. As soon as they arrived, they settled in. Xu Ye and she wandered up the mountain path, with the luxuriant branches and leaves of big trees covering the sky and the sun above their heads, and there was a damp smell of earth in the air. The two walked while talking and laughing, and unknowingly reached the top of the mountain. Their field of vision widened, and the strong wind blew away the slight sweat on their bodies, making them cool and comfortable.

“It’s a nice place,” he praised.

“My mother also likes this place very much.” Song Yueran said, standing beside him.

Xu Ye had heard about some of her family affairs and knew that her mother had died of illness, so he changed the topic, “It looks like it’s going to rain. Let’s go back.”

       Song Yueran nodded.

The weather in the mountains was unpredictable, and it really started to rain after a while. The wind rolled the rain onto the floor-to-ceiling windows, and it flowed like a waterfall.

When it was time for dinner, none of the elders showed up. Xu Ye completely understood in his heart, and went to the garage with an umbrella, only to find that his car was also missing. He asked the servant and was told that the driver was ordered to drive the car away and would not be back until tomorrow morning.

When he saw Song Yueran following behind him uneasily, he smiled weakly, “We’ve been tricked.”

This time it wasn’t just Xu Ting who plotted against him, even Song Wanhua got involved. These two old foxes! He gritted his teeth with hatred.

Song Yueran lowered her head and said softly, “I’m sorry, if you want to leave, I can call and find a car to come into the mountain to pick you up.”

When he saw her attitude, Xu Ye felt a little sorry, “Forget it, the road is slippery in the rain, and it’s not safe to ask a car to go into the mountain. If you don’t mind, I’d like to borrow a room for the night.”

She smiled and said, “That’s fine.”

In fact, Xu Ye had underestimated his opponent’s skills.

The next morning, when he found himself lying on the same bed as Song Yueran, he was completely shocked. He remembered that he obviously went back to the guest room to sleep last night, and he had no idea how he appeared in her room. Song Yueran put an arm around his waist and woke up because of his movement, her eyes were also full of surprise.

“Xu Ye?” She asked, her face white, “Why do you…”

He held his forehead and asked, “Did I do anything to you last night?”

Song Yueran stared at him blankly for a long time, then shook her head, “I don’t remember.”

He smiled wryly, “It’s okay, they only gave you sleeping pills.”

“I’m sorry that something like this happened in my house.” Her face was flushed.

“It’s not your fault, you don’t need to apologize.” After saying this, what the man said in his ear suddenly flashed in his mind—“Don’t let me hear the word ‘sorry’ all the time”, and a wave of panic ran through him. His master said that no one was allowed to touch his body, but now…Xu Ye looked down at his naked upper body and immediately went back to the guest room to find a T-shirt to put on.

After the two finished their breakfast in silence, Xu Ye said, “Yueran, I will talk to your father. I need to be clear about my attitude on this matter.”

She gave a soft mumble and didn’t say anything.

It was exactly nine o’clock when Xu Ting and Song Wanhua arrived. Xu Ye was about to get angry with Xu Ting but Song Wanhua pressed his shoulder, “Xiao Ye, we can talk about this later, there are more important things to do now.”

Xu Ye stared at the four black Mercedes that appeared in his field of vision and froze.

One of them stopped firmly at the main entrance. The bodyguard jogged forward and opened the back seat door.

Xu Ye, who saw who sat there clearly, was nailed in place as if struck by lightning.

Stepping out of the car was Chu Xuan in a Chinese-style cotton and linen shirt, and Chu Yu in a white long thin coat.

Chapter 44

Suo Yang never thought that he would be like this when he was in love. He used to think that regardless of the time, he would never lose his composure too much.

However, when he was really in love, he turned to be like everyone else, caring about each other and every detail of each other’s life.

He respected Shen Huiming’s living habits, and at the same time, he hoped to leave a place for himself in the other party’s ‘habit’. He tried his best to infiltrate into the other party’s life as unobtrusively as possible, but he seemed to be in a bit of a hurry and was exposed in the blink of an eye.

“No.” Suo Yang said stiffly, “It just occurred to me that you like coffee.”

Shen Huiming smiled, “Alright, if you say no, then no it is.”

He lightly kissed Suo Yang’s ear, “You clean up first, I’ll go and cook for you.”

Shen Huiming stood up and looked down at Suo Yang, who tilted his head up.

Suo Yang said, “You’re going to?”

“I went to the morning market on purpose,” Shen Huiming said, “The vegetables and meat are fresh in the morning, and the ingredients are all taken care of, just waiting for you to come back and put them in the pot.”

Shen Huiming always had a way of making Suo Yang lose his armour.

After all these days, they both knew very well that for people like them, sweet words were enough to listen to, but what could pierce the heart was definitely not those beautiful words of love.

“Let me help you.” Suo Yang stood up.

“Alright,” Shen Huiming did not refuse, “Change your clothes first, and don’t let the oil splash on your shirt.”

Ever since that day when Suo Yang stayed overnight, Shen Huiming had bought him a new set of home clothes, which was placed on the other pillow of the double bed. For a few days, Shen Huiming patted the clothes lightly every morning when he got up as if he was talking to Suo Yang, and he said good morning to that clothes.

He had been thinking about the other so much that he had become obsessed.

He was embarrassed to let Suo Yang know about this; a thirty-year-old man fell in love and made himself look like this. It would be embarrassing to talk about it.

However, after looking forward to it for several days, the man finally came back, and the clothes Shen Huiming had bought had finally found their owner.

“I prepared home clothes for you,” Shen Huiming said, “On the bed in the bedroom.”

“Okay.” Suo Yang moved his suitcase to the side and walked into the bedroom.

As soon as he entered the room, he remembered the night the two spent together. Shen Huiming was more gentle than he imagined, and it made him blush, and his heart raced even more.

Suo Yang hesitated momentarily and changed his clothes after closing the door. Although he knew that there was no need to worry about these things between him and Shen Huiming, he still felt a little embarrassed.

After changing his clothes, he folded the clothes he had taken off and put them on the hanger by the door.

When Suo Yang opened the door and walked into the kitchen, Shen Huiming had already put the processed fish into the pot.

He picked up the apron hanging on the hook at the door and walked towards the other man, “Lower your head.”

Shen Huiming obediently obeyed, smiling and bowing his head slightly, allowing Suo Yang to put the apron on him.

The thin rope of the apron was hung around Shen Huiming’s neck. He turned around to cover the pot, and Suo Yang stood behind him and helped him tie the rope behind him.

“I’ve had this apron for over a year now, and I’m wearing it for the first time today.”

Suo Yang said softly while knotting the rope, “Don’t let it splash on your clothes.”

Shen Huiming smiled, “Do you think I’m having a rough time?”

If Shen Huiming had it rough, then there should only be a few meticulous people out there.

A person’s personality could also be seen from a person’s kitchen. Just now, when Suo Yang came in, he saw that Shen Huiming had arranged all the ingredients in an orderly manner. Although he didn’t cook much, he still knew how to cook. Yes, he found that the order in which Shen Huiming placed the ingredients was even in a logical sequence.

“What can I do?” Suo Yang didn’t answer his question but stood beside him.

“I forgot to beat the eggs,” Shen Huiming said, “I’ll chop the mushrooms. There are eggs over there; take two and beat them.”

“Okay.” Suo Yang obediently went to get the eggs and came back and skillfully stood by the side to break them up for later use.

The two of them were busy working together in the kitchen, and they really felt like a young couple living together.

Suo Yang liked this kind of feeling, warm and down-to-earth.

The gorgeous dining room was ornate with exquisite plating. However, those were not what made it precious. The most precious thing was the most ordinary and simple home-cooked meals.

Shen Huiming wanted to cook for Suo Yang a long time ago, and today he finally had a chance to show it.

The dish was spicy stir-fried beef, braised chicken drumsticks with seasonal vegetables, stir fry king oyster mushrooms, stir-fried cabbage, two meat and two vegetables, plus a bowl of fish soup. Shen Huiming was very proud.

Suo Yang sat at the dining table and looked at him with a smile, “I thought you were bragging, but I didn’t expect the cooking skills to be really this good.”

“Have a taste.” Shen Huiming served the rice, “I guarantee it will be delicious.”

When the two were eating together, Suo Yang looked up at Shen Huiming from time to time.

“What’s the matter?” Shen Huiming asked, “It doesn’t suit your taste?”

“No,” Suo Yang quickly explained, “It’s just that it’s been a long time since I’ve been like this, and I feel a bit unbelievable.”

Over the years, Suo Yang had always felt that he was living a good life, quiet but well-organized, and he had always enjoyed it.

But at this moment, he suddenly realized that ‘home’ was not just a house, a room and a bed.

When he first met Shen Huiming, he didn’t expect that the other party would bring him such an experience一one that was grounded and full of fireworks.

“What’s unbelievable?” Shen Huiming served him a bowl of fish soup, “This is my special dish, try it.”

Suo Yang picked up the small soup bowl, took a sip, and then smiled until his eyes were curved.

“It smells so good.” It was light and fresh, and after one bite, Suo Yang felt comfortable in his stomach.

Suo Yang liked it, and Shen Huiming couldn’t be happier.

“What do you like to eat?” Shen Huiming said, “I will make it for you when I have the chance.”

Suo Yang thought about it seriously but found that he didn’t seem to have any favourite dishes.

When Shen Huiming saw Suo Yang in a dilemma, he smiled, “Okay, I got it.”

       “What did you get?”

“In the past, all the dishes were similar at your place1Suo Yang’s dish is too monotone and lacks of variety,” Shen Huiming said. “In the future, every dish I make will be something you particularly like to eat.”

Suo Yang laughed, “Are you bragging about yourself?”

“That’s right.” Shen Huiming picked another piece of meat for him, “Do you think my bragging is justified?”

Suo Yang ate the piece of meat, nodded and said, “It’s quite reasonable.”

The meal satisfied both of them physically and mentally. Shen Huiming said, “I reckon, after such a meal, you will love me a little more.”

“How so?” Suo Yang followed him to clean up the kitchen.

Shen Huiming smiled, “Isn’t there a saying that to tether a man’s heart, you must first tether his stomach? I’ve satisfied your stomach today, haven’t I?”

Suo Yang lowered his head and smiled.

       More than just the stomach.

He didn’t have the nerve to say it, and he could only secretly laugh.

They had eaten and drunk enough, but it was still early.

Suo Yang said, “Are you going back to the company?”

Shen Huiming glanced at the time, “Are you tired?”

“Me?” Suo Yang said, “I’m good.”

Shen Huiming went over and suddenly leaned over to kiss him, “Do you want to accompany me to work?”

       Suo Yang hesitated.

He hesitated not because he didn’t want to go but because he was worried that if he went, he would disturb Shen Huiming’s work.

“If you are tired, rest at home, and I will come back to accompany you at night.”

“I’m not tired.” Suo Yang said, “I’m afraid it will be inconvenient for you if I go over.”

Shen Huiming smiled, “What is there to inconvenience me? If you don’t go, I won’t feel at ease, and I will always miss you.”

After confirming their relationship, the two haven’t seen each other for a few days. They finally saw each other, and when they did, they couldn’t afford to hide it at home, so they definitely wanted to take it with them wherever they went.

When he heard what Shen Huiming said, Suo Yang didn’t hold back any more. He stood up from the sofa and took Shen Huiming’s hand, “Then go change your clothes.”

The two of them just changed their clothes, and they hugged and kissed for a long time. It was Shen Huiming’s assistant who called, and they were forced to separate.

The assistant had a document for him to sign. Initially, Shen Huiming said that he would be there after two o’clock, but it turned out that it was almost four o’clock, and he was still missing.

When Shen Huiming answered the phone, Suo Yang changed his clothes, then went to help Shen Huiming take off his pyjama pants, and helped this busy man change his clothes like taking care of a child.

After Shen Huiming finished his phone call, Suo Yang finished his clothes.

“I’m a little shy.” Shen Huiming smiled and watched Suo Yang buttoning his shirt, “No one has helped me with my clothes since kindergarten.”

Suo Yang’s original intention was to save him time, but now he suddenly felt that his behaviour was a bit too much, and he was embarrassed to look at Shen Huiming. His ears were as red as if they were dyed with roses.

When he saw that Suo Yang didn’t speak, Shen Huiming didn’t tease him anymore, and when they finished cleaning up, they went downstairs holding hands.

Suo Yang kept looking at the hands they held together and suddenly thought of something. He looked up at the camera in the elevator.

Shen Huiming smiled, “It’s okay, no one cares about our relationship.”

Suo Yang laughed softly and leaned against Shen Huiming again.

It was already 4:30 when the two arrived at Shen Huiming’s company, and Suo Yang was still holding the coffee beans he had bought from Rio.

When Shen Huiming’s assistant saw Suo Yang this time, he immediately said with a smile, “Hello, Yang ge!”

Suo Yang was a little surprised. He didn’t remember introducing himself to the other party when he came last time.

After Shen Huiming finished signing for the assistant and the assistant left the office, Shen Huiming said, “After all, he is my assistant, and there are some things he needs to know.”

Suo Yang understood. He was introduced to others by Shen Huiming.

Shen Huiming brought a laptop to Suo Yang, “I may be busy for a while. You can use this computer if you are bored.”

Suo Yang didn’t depend on the internet at all, and he could pass the time by lying there and listening to music and flipping through books.

He sat on the sofa, turned on the player with headphones on, and listened to the song ‘Berlin’ that Shen Huiming played to him at the beginning, watching the other party frown and handle the work.

Suo Yang didn’t feel bored at all accompanying Shen Huiming to work. He looked at the floor-to-ceiling windows behind him, watched the light dimmer slightly, saw a plane fly by, and felt that life was more beautiful than he imagined.

At 6:30, the employees began to clock out to get off work.

Shen Huiming was sitting in front of the computer, still reading the proposal. When the assistant opened the door and came in, Shen Huiming gave him a ‘shh’ gesture because Suo Yang was lying on the sofa and fell asleep.

Chapter 78

Chen Yuncheng couldn’t help but want to get up after sitting on Ning Junyan’s lap for a long time, but Ning Junyan hugged him and refused to let go.

“Am I not heavy?” Chen Yuncheng asked, after all, he was tall and not too slender.

Ning Junyan said, “I can hold you, I want to hold you forever.”

Chen Yuncheng asked him with a smile, “Why are you so clingy?”

Ning Junyan said, “Because you have ignored me for a long time.”

Chen Yuncheng gently combed Ning Junyan’s hair with his fingers, “I was too busy a while ago, and the fair just ended today.” As he spoke about this, Chen Yuncheng felt a little excited again and told Ning Junyan about the people he had met at the fair and how many orders he had signed in the past few days.

Ning Junyan’s expression was very flat, but his eyes kept looking at Chen Yuncheng without moving away as if he was listening to him very seriously.

After a while, Ning Junyan asked him, “So have you made enough money?”

Chen Yuncheng said, “Give me a few more months, and I will pay you back 100,000 yuan first.”

Ning Junyan shook his head slowly, “I don’t want you to pay back the money. You said you would move back, and the contract is still with me.”

Chen Yuncheng’s tone was a bit hesitant, “Move back?”

Ning Junyan asked him, “Do you not like my house? Let’s sell it and buy it again, and write our two names on it.”

Chen Yuncheng was stunned for a moment, looked at him and said, “There’s no need for that, you’ll have to spend money on renovations.”

Ning Junyan said, “It’s fine, you can decorate it however you want.”

Chen Yuncheng thought of the iron chains in Ning Junyan’s room, and suddenly a lot of bad memories associated with it rose. He then said, “No need, the house is pretty good now.”

“It’s too far away from your work,” Ning Junyan said.

Chen Yuncheng said, “Actually, I’m thinking about getting a loan to buy a car.”

       “Um?”

Chen Yuncheng hugged Ning Junyan’s shoulders. He felt a little tired since it was late, he leaned on Ning Junyan and said, “Sun ge gave me advice. He said that even if you have no money, you do something to keep your appearance even when you don’t have the means to when you are in business. You need to be vain, otherwise, people will think you can’t make money and will be less willing to talk business with you. So I’m considering buying a second-hand BMW that I can pay for with a mortgage.”

Ning Junyan said, “If you need money, just tell me.”

Chen Yuncheng smiled and said, “Where else can I use your money?”

Ning Junyan said: “You are all mine now. Who else’s money do you want to spend if not mine? Boss Sun?”

“How can you even be jealous of Boss Sun?”

Ning Junyan’s words were not reasonable in the slightest, “No one can do it. It can only be me.”

Chen Yuncheng held his face and kissed him, “Okay, it can only be you.”

It was too late, and Chen Yuncheng planned to leave.

Ning Junyan was unwilling to let him go.

Chen Yuncheng said, “You are on duty in the hospital, and I’m messing with you here. Do you count as dereliction of duty? What if there are emergency patients halfway through?”

Ning Junyan frowned slightly as if thinking about this question seriously.

Chen Yuncheng coaxed him, “Can I come over tomorrow night?”

Ning Junyan glanced at him and said, “Move back.”

Chen Yuncheng thought for a while, “Okay, let’s discuss it slowly tomorrow night, okay?”

Only then did Ning Junyan let Chen Yuncheng get up from his arms.

Chen Yuncheng stood up, and when he saw that Ning Junyan had also gotten up, he was about to turn around and walk towards the door, but at that moment, the mobile phone that Ning Junyan had been keeping on his desk rang.

At this hour, there was no telling who would be calling Ning Junyan.

Ning Junyan glanced at the incoming call, connected it, and in a slightly cold tone answered, “What’s the matter so late?”

There was a faint voice coming from the phone, Chen Yuncheng couldn’t hear it clearly. It sounded like a woman’s voice, somewhat agitated.

Ning Junyan’s expression remained unchanged, but he stood up straight, and his eyes became serious. He said, “Don’t be nervous, I’ll go to the emergency room now. You guys just follow the car.”

The person on the other side of the phone said a few more words and ended the call.

Chen Yuncheng looked at him and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Ning Junyan stuffed his mobile phone into the pocket of his white coat, put his arms around Chen Yuncheng’s waist and led him outside, and said as he walked, “Nothing, my father is not feeling well, my mother has called an ambulance to bring him here now.”

Chen Yuncheng asked in surprise, “Is it serious?”

Ning Junyan said, “It’s okay, you can go back first, I’ll take you downstairs and call you a taxi.” After he said that, he lowered his head and kissed Chen Yuncheng on the lips, then stretched out his hand and opened the door of the office.

Chen Yuncheng didn’t stop, but said, “I’ll stay with you.”

Ning Junyan shook his head, “I’ll take care of it. There’s no need for you to stay and face my mother.”

Chen Yuncheng knew that an ambulance had been called to bring him to the hospital and that Ning Junyan’s father’s illness was certainly not as light as Ning Junyan’s tone of voice. He had no feelings for Ning Junyan’s parents, but he cared about Ning Junyan. No matter what the relationship between their family was, they were his blood relatives after all, and Chen Yuncheng wanted to stay with him.

       They took the elevator downstairs.

Ning Junyan’s expression was very calm.

Chen Yuncheng could not help but hold his hand.

Ning Junyan turned his head, rubbed his forehead against the top of Chen Yuncheng’s head, and said, “It’s okay, wife.”

Chen Yuncheng felt that these words were more like Ning Junyan comforting himself, so he nodded and repeated, “It’s okay.”

He insisted that he refused to go, so Ning Junyan took him with him to the emergency hall, and soon after he arrived, he heard the sound of an ambulance.

Chen Yuncheng knew that he couldn’t help, so he followed Ning Junyan far away, watching him trot towards the ambulance, and when Ning Zhanghong was carried off from the ambulance and put on a movable bed, Ning Junyan instructed the doctor on duty at the emergency department to arrange for tests to be done immediately.

“Electrocardiogram and Echocardiography,” Ning Junyan said in a quick and steady tone as he followed the propelling hospital bed forward while pressing his stethoscope to Ning Zhanghong’s left chest to examine him.

Chen Yuncheng saw the pale and painful face of the middle-aged man on the hospital bed. Immediately afterwards, he saw Shu Rong running behind the hospital bed in a hurry. Shu Rong had no makeup on and was wearing a sleeveless dress with a tense expression.

Shu Rong also saw Chen Yuncheng, she slowed down briefly, and then quickly followed without talking to Chen Yuncheng.

Chen Yuncheng didn’t care. He followed them and saw Ning Zhanghong being sent for examination. Ning Junyan followed into the examination room. He could only wait outside, and Shu Rong was also waiting outside.

“Auntie,” Chen Yuncheng took the initiative to greet Shu Rong.

He didn’t know if it was because of the lack of makeup, Shu Rong’s whole face looked very pale. She sat on a chair in the waiting area, looked up at Chen Yuncheng, still maintaining that well-bred attitude, and asked, “Why are you here?”

Chen Yuncheng said, “I’m here to find Junyan.”

“Oh,” Shu Rong didn’t continue to pursue, just nodded, stood up again, and walked back and forth restlessly. The air-conditioning in the hospital was sufficient. She was wearing thin clothes and unconsciously hugged her arms.

When Chen Yuncheng saw this, he took off his coat and helped her put it on.

Shu Rong turned her head to look at him, then looked down at the coat dr4p3d over her shoulders, took it off and handed it back to Chen Yuncheng, “Thank you, it’s not necessary.”

Chen Yuncheng said, “It’s too cold here, Auntie. You should put on.”

Shu Rong showed a forced smile, “I’m not used to the smell of alcohol and tobacco.”

Chen Yuncheng was stunned for a moment, he realized that he had eaten out tonight, and his coat had a lot of alcohol and tobacco smell on it, but he didn’t mention it when he got close to Ning Junyan just now. Chen Yuncheng put back his coat and said, “I’m sorry.”

Ning Junyan was busy all night, accompanying Ning Zhanghong to do various examinations. It was only until dawn that Ning Junyan walked out of the examination room.

Shu Rong stood up suddenly and asked, “How is it?”

Ning Junyan didn’t answer, he walked up to Chen Yuncheng and said to him, “You should go back and rest soon, I have to get ready for the operation.”

Chen Yuncheng couldn’t help but grabbed his arm, “You’re going to do surgery now? You haven’t slept all night.”

Ning Junyan raised his hand to stroke his hair, and said, “It’s okay.”

Shu Rong kept looking at them.

After Ning Junyan and Chen Yuncheng finished talking, they turned to Shu Rong and said, “Acute aortic dissection. It must be operated on as soon as possible. I will do it myself.”

Chapter 25

No matter what the occasion The Lion, The Pharaoh and The Earl appeared on, they were undoubtedly eye-catching. One was because of their appearance, and the other was because of their aura. The top dom has an air of dominance in his eyes and could easily become the centre of attention. At this moment, they were attracting a lot of attention, including many curious women who were gawking at them.

Xu Ye’s brain finally managed to restart successfully after a period of shutdown, the hot temperature on his face and the dry feeling in his throat intensified. He signalled the attendant to leave first, and then forced himself to speak calmly, “Good evening to all three of you esteemed guests, please follow me.”

       Stay calm…

It’s just a meeting in public, it’s no big deal…

Just treat them as regular customers…

Xu Ye, who was leading the way, wanted to calm himself down, but he was still so nervous that his hands and feet were stiff. It was as if he could feel the man’s gaze on his back, sending a small shiver down his skin.

The restaurant didn’t have a fully enclosed room, but considering the needs of some VIP guests when dining, there were semi-enclosed rooms. Wide wooden strips with staggered angles were used to block the line of sight by the floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a more private and exclusive VIP area.

“Three esteemed guests, is it okay to sit here?” Xu Ye’s eyes were shaky as he looked at Chu Yu, and his curled fingers revealed a little uneasiness.

“The ambience is good.” Marvin sat down on the white leather chair first, and Pharaoh also sat down. Chu Yu glanced at the chair beside him, Xu Ye’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately went over to pull the chair away, then adjusted it to a suitable dining position as Chu Yu sat down.

The waiter in charge of the area stood by with a look of horror on his face. What the Young Master Xu usually did was nothing more than guide the guests to their seats and survey feedback. How could he serve the guests himself today? When he saw Xu Ye tidying the tableware and putting napkins on the table for the guests, his eyeballs almost popped out.

This, this, this… is a bit too attentive even for a VIP customer…

The young waiter stared blankly for a moment before realising it and hastily stepped forward and said, “Mr. Xu, let me do it…”

Xu Ye glanced at him coldly. He turned around and walked outside the area, lowered his voice and ordered, “Tell the supervisor that all the VIP rooms and tables around here are reserved. Don’t bring any guests here without my permission. For tables that have already been reserved, let them coordinate a change of location or give them compensation so they can come back another day.”

The waiter was stunned by the order and glanced at the three men suspiciously before turning around. He didn’t know who these three people were, and if they could make Xu Ye so nervous, were they the star judges of the food association?

As he saw Xu Ye’s face as if he was facing an enemy, Marvin couldn’t help but tease, “Are you treating us like bird flu?”

The usually calm Pharaoh also smiled and said, “We just stopped by here for a meal, no need to make special arrangements.”

“It is in line with Baihe1white crane Restaurant’s aim to provide a quality dining environment for our valued customers.” Xu Ye responded with a smile. He was wearing the uniform of a restaurant supervisor, a light grey suit with a white crane on his chest. The black-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose made him look more mature. He was trying his best to maintain his composure, which disintegrated in a matter of moments when his gaze met the man.

Chu Yu sat peacefully. His slender and straight body wrapped in a white shirt looked bright and handsome. Those night-like eyes were shining brightly under the lamp, and they looked at him gently.

Xu Ye pursed his lips and blushed, his heart pounding uncontrollably, he even spoke faster, “Uh… Today’s chef’s recommendation is the charcoal grilled lamb chops and tempura. Um… here is today’s menu, I can pick up all the dishes on the menu for you, including desserts and drinks.”

“Don’t be nervous, speak slowly.” Marvin laughed out loud, “Are all the waiters here as anxious as you are?”

Xu Ye was extremely embarrassed by these words and gave him a stern look.

“You’ve got a lot of guts to wink at me in front of him.” Marvin grinned, “Looks like the lesson you learned last time wasn’t enough.”

This guy was definitely taking revenge for what happened before… Xu Ye was so angry that he gritted his teeth, but he didn’t dare to refute. He recalled the scene where he was tied to the sofa in the club by Chu Yu and was punished to the point of tears. Two flaming clouds rose on his cheeks and his eyes trembled as he looked at the man who hadn’t said anything.

“Lion, you seem to be very interested in my people?” Chu Yu finally spoke leisurely.

Marvin’s expression froze, “I’d better get something to eat, I’m suddenly very hungry.”

“If you want, I can get it for you.” Xu Ye said.

“No, I’m afraid you’ll poison it.” Marvin stood up with a smile, “Besides, if I ordered you, I might be killed by someone, the risk is too great.”

“It’s more fun to help yourself to the buffet.” Pharaoh also stood up, and the two went to get the food together.

Only Xu Ye, who was standing and Chu Yu, who was sitting, were left in the area. He blushed and called softly, “Master…”

“Address me as Sir.” The man put the menu on the table and looked up at him, “Surprised to see me?”

“…Yes, Sir. I didn’t expect to see you here.” Xu Ye lowered his head slightly, with a shy expression on his face, he couldn’t help but think of that kiss.

“Is the injury on your hand healed?”

“It’s almost better. I’ve been using the ointment you gave me.”

“Hmm.” Chu Yu looked at the back of his left hand and asked, “Is there a camera here?”

“Not in this area.” Xu Ye answered concisely.

“Very good.” The man turned the chair to face Xu Ye and then patted his leg lightly.

Xu Ye felt that it was difficult for him to even breathe. He couldn’t help but look back, the diners and waiters were busy in the bustling restaurant, and no one paid attention to this quiet and secluded corner. He walked slowly to Chu Yu’s side and knelt down obediently.

In this not so enclosed space, letting yourself act like a slave was like pressing a sharp sword against your own throat, which was dangerous and exciting. His weird behaviour may be seen at any time, his hidden secrets might be discovered at any time, and everything he had hidden for a long time might be exposed at any time. Xu Ye was like a herbivore that lost its way in the dark, surrounded by unknown dangers, and he couldn’t help trembling slightly due to the great anxiety and shame.

Long and slender fingers brushed the hair in front of Xu Ye’s forehead, took off his black-rimmed glasses, then lightly unbuttoned three shirt buttons, slid them in, stroked his collarbone, and squeezed hard on the protrusion on his left chest. Xu Ye trembled and let out a soft and urgent nasal sound. He bit his lip and straightened his body as much as possible, breathing uncontrollably and chaotically. But that hand didn’t intend to let him go, either circling or deliberately kneading and scraping the sensitive point.

Such teasing made Xu Ye breathe harder, and he even felt some dangerous signals from his trouser-covered crotch.

In a place like this… just in case someone sees…

The stronger the feelings of fear and shame, the more his desire flourished. Xu Ye’s shoulder blades trembled, and he raised his face and called out, “Master…don’t…um…”

“What do I ask you to call me?” Chu Yu curled up his index and middle fingers, grabbed the poor little bump with force, and pulled it outward.

The painful and numb feeling made Xu Ye take a deep breath, and wail, “Sir…”

The man’s fingers moved up his neck and lingered on his lips. “Do you want me to stop, or continue?”

A cloud of mist formed in Xu Ye’s eyes. He looked like a child who had been bullied but didn’t dare to cry. He replied tremblingly, “As long as Master likes it, anything can be done…”

Chu Yu smiled and patted his head.

That was the motion that allowed him to lean. Xu Ye knelt down, resting his head on the man’s lap, panting to calm himself down. The man’s perfume was replaced with a familiar smell. A light and indulgent smell.

When Marvin came back with the plate, he saw this scene and said with a smile, “We haven’t even touched our forks yet, and yet the Second Young Master already eating?”

Even the roots of Xu Ye’s ears turned red, and he buried his head in Chu Yu’s lap again. The man chuckled and said, “Proper exercise before a meal can boost your appetite.” After he finished speaking, he patted Xu Ye on the head, “I’ll give you five minutes to get the food I like.”

“Yes, Sir.” The blushing slave buttoned up his shirt, got up and went out.

Xu Ye knew very little about his master’s preferences and could only deduce from a few clues what types of ingredients the man liked.

He doesn’t like cold things, even sushi…

I don’t think he likes fatty things either, how about roast duck?

How cooked is the steak to suit his taste?

Didn’t see him eat onions, wait, it seems he doesn’t like green onions either…

I don’t think he’ll be able to get enough of these, so what should we add? Curry?

Xu Ye felt like a computer that was about to smoke, running at high speed under Chu Yu’s instructions. While he was hesitating among the five sauces next to the vegetable salad, someone behind him suddenly patted his back.

He turned around and saw Song Yueran who was blinking mischievously, he was taken aback, “Why…why didn’t you tell me in advance when you came?”

“I heard from Uncle Xu that you come to the store as a waiter every Friday. I’m curious, so I came to take a look.” She smiled brightly, “I was still queuing outside for a while. The attendant kept saying that it was full, but why were there so many empty tables inside?”

“That’s because… there is a leak on the roof.” Xu Ye had no choice but to lie.

“So that’s it.” Song Yueran looked at the plate in his hand, “You haven’t eaten yet?”

“This is for a guest.” Xu Ye glanced at the VIP area and murmured inwardly. Five minutes must have passed, and he didn’t know how Chu Yu would punish him. He could only pretend to be calm and said, “You go get something to eat first. I’ll go and take care of things over there and then come back.”

       “Okay.” She nodded.

Xu Ye respectfully placed the dinner plate in front of Chu Yu, and said anxiously, “Sir, can the punishment be on hold first, I…a friend came over there…” He didn’t understand why he felt flustered and didn’t even dare to look the man in the eyes.

“Go.” Chu Yu’s expression was very calm.

Answer to marisa_0022’s question: The entourage walks upright and does not need to kneel when the master stops for a short time. When the master leaves for a long time, the slave is required to kneel and hold the part of the rope below the handheld loop of the leash which is convenient for the owner to retrieve when they return. The shorter the rope, the less time the slave has to react. The slave must always be aware of his master’s movements and control his own pace and speed during the walk.

PS: Thanks to the folks who left comments, the interaction was great. Otherwise, I would have always felt like jerking myself off alone…… _(:з)∠)_

Notes:
I like how Chu Yu makes sure Xu Ye would not be compromised when they got into the role just as he promised him before
I assumed that previously a reader was asking about the walking training

Chapter 77

It was the first time Chen Yuncheng wore a suit and tie, and he was suddenly a little embarrassed when he looked in the mirror. The shop assistant at the counter helped him tidy up his collar and cuffs and kept complimenting him on how good he looked.

So he took a closer look at himself in the mirror and saw that he was indeed quite good-looking. He just had his hair trimmed yesterday, revealing a smooth and full forehead. Perhaps it was because of his personality, his facial features were soft, especially when he smiled. His eyes were curved in a way that made people feel close to him.

Guan Anlin was different, as long as he didn’t smile, his whole body from his eyebrows to the corners of his jaw gave people an illusion of ruthlessness, especially when he wore a suit, he looked even colder. He stood in front of the mirror and looked at himself for a long time. He was obviously very satisfied with this look. He deliberately raised his face and slightly raised his head, revealing his sharp jaw angle, and raised his eyebrows at Chen Yuncheng.

Chen Yuncheng didn’t bother to talk to him, asked him if he had chosen, and went to check out after Guan Anlin had chosen.

Chen Yuncheng spent a total of nearly 4,000 yuan on two complete suits, and that was even at a discounted price. When he signed the receipt after swiping his card, his heart was bleeding.

He warned Guan Anlin, pointing out that he bought this set for him, and told him to take good care of his clothes and only wear them on important occasions in the future.

Guan Anlin said, “When we have money in the future, we shouldn’t just buy it randomly.” After coming down from the menswear floor, Guan Anlin also bought a pair of sunglasses at the mall, which he felt matched the suit perfectly and made him look like a ruthless character from a movie.

The fair lasted for three days. Chen Yuncheng took the liquor brand he represented to participate in the fair. He did not have the money to apply for a well-located booth, so he found a corner on the outside, but there were still many customers passing by.

During these three days, Chen Yuncheng put out many business cards. He got to know a lot of wine manufacturers and even signed a great number of orders on the last day, which was a great harvest for him.

Chen Yuncheng was in a good mood. On the last day of the fair, he asked Guan Anlin to drive the packed things back to the store and then called all the employees in the store to have a meal with the two female college students he invited to work at the fair.

The two female college students were very beautiful and were particularly fond of Chen Yuncheng. Chen Yuncheng also took good care of them and didn’t ask them to drink while eating. Because he was in a better mood, he took off his coat, leaned on the back of the chair with only his shirt on, smoked a cigarette and smiled as he watched Guan Anlin and the others clumsily chatting with two female college students.

When they finished eating, Chen Yuncheng asked Guan Anlin to send the two female students back to school. He put his arm around Guan Anlin’s shoulders and walked to the side to give him a few words of advice.

Guan Anlin was a little unhappy, “Who do you think I am? I’m a decent person.”

       Chen Yuncheng smiled.

Guan Anlin asked him, “Where are you going?”

Chen Yuncheng seemed to smile even more happily, and said, “I’ll go find Ning Junyan.”

Guan Anlin made a ‘tsk’, not wanting to comment.

Chen Yuncheng let go of the hand that was holding Guan Anlin’s shoulder, raised his hand and waved to tell everyone to drive safely when they go back. He put his suit jacket on his arm and went to the side of the road to hail a taxi.

Tonight, Ning Junyan was working the night shift at the hospital. Chen Yuncheng felt it was a pity, but he really wanted to see him, so he called him just now to ask if he was busy.

       Ning Junyan said, “Not busy.”

Chen Yuncheng said, “Let me come to see you and bring you some supper.”

Ning Junyan said to him, “Just bring yourself.”

Chen Yuncheng got into the taxi and leaned his head back against the back seat, raising his hand to cover his face after a while. He was a little dizzy after drinking, but there was a wave of inexplicable excitement. He didn’t know whether he was excited that the fair was going well or that he was going to see Ning Junyan next.

During the three months that he had put his life on the line to make money, it wasn’t that he and Ning Junyan hadn’t seen each other, but they really couldn’t see each other much, sometimes once a week, and sometimes even when he had made an appointment to go over at night, he would break it.

He knew that Ning Junyan was unhappy, but actually, he also missed Ning Junyan very much. When he was really tired, he wanted to go to Ning Junyan and sleep in his arms, so that he could do nothing and think about nothing, but he thought of what Shu Rong said to him, and the fact that he still owed Ning Junyan 200,000, forced himself to give up his thoughts, put on a cold face and continued to work hard.

Soon. Chen Yuncheng always said to himself, everything was getting better and better. It really did get better and better, so good that he couldn’t help but want to see Ning Junyan and share his happiness with him.

The inpatient building was very deserted at night. Chen Yuncheng walked in and put on his coat. He stood in front of a mirror in the lobby on the ground floor, straightened his collar, pushed his hair upwards, patted his cheeks with his hand, and with a flushed cheek turned to the elevator.

The little excitement and joy never dissipated, causing the corners of his mouth to rise slightly.

The ward was also very quiet at this time. It was almost bedtime and many of the ward doors were closed, with only the faint sound of people talking coming out.

Chen Yuncheng walked all the way to the door of Ning Junyan’s office, raised his hand and knocked lightly on the door.

Ning Junyan’s deep voice came out, “Please come in.”

Chen Yuncheng opened the door halfway and leaned in to look at him.

Ning Junyan was wearing a white coat and was sitting behind his desk. On the desk was a thick book that looked like he was reading. He raised his eyes to look at Chen Yuncheng at the door, but didn’t get up, and leaned back slightly on the back of the chair.

Chen Yuncheng smiled and said, “I’m coming in.”

Ning Junyan didn’t say anything and just looked at him quietly.

Chen Yuncheng had been wearing this suit for a few days and had already gotten used to it by now, but he felt embarrassed when he stood in front of Ning Junyan. He walked into the office and closed the door behind him.

Ning Junyan looked at him carefully from head to toe with calm eyes, and said to him, “Come here.”

Chen Yuncheng walked up to Ning Junyan, and looked down at him, “What’s the matter?”

Ning Junyan slowly raised his hand, his long thin fingers holding the bottom edge of Chen Yuncheng’s tie and wrapping it around his index finger before suddenly pulling him hard on his tie, pulling him down to bend over and kiss him on the lips.

It was an emotionally intense kiss they hadn’t seen each other in over a week.

Chen Yuncheng quickly became full of emotion under the influence of alcohol, and the way he bend over made him a little uncomfortable. When Ning Junyan hugged his waist, he obediently straddled Ning Junyan’s lap and put his arms around Ning Junyan’s shoulders.

It wasn’t an easy kiss to end.

Chen Yuncheng soon felt Ning Junyan pull the hem of his shirt out of the waist of his suit trousers, his warm palm burrowing in to press against the skin of his waist.

As the hand continued to be restless, Chen Yuncheng forced himself to end the kiss, pressed Ning Junyan’s hand, and said, “What are you doing?”

Ning Junyan said coldly, “What are you talking about?”

Chen Yuncheng looked at him and smiled slightly.

Ning Junyan’s hand reached into Chen Yuncheng’s hair, grabbed his hair and pulled his head back, saying, “Didn’t you dress like this to seduce me?”

Chen Yuncheng hurriedly said, “Don’t pull it, it hurts!” He regretted that he didn’t ask the barber to cut his hair shorter and let Ning Junyan find a chance to pull his hair.

Ning Junyan didn’t let go but just relaxed his grip. His eyes slid all the way from Chen Yuncheng’s face, past his Adam’s apple, his collar, to the open chest of his suit jacket, and asked him, “What do you want to do dressed like this?”

Chen Yuncheng said, “What kind of clothes do you wear? Isn’t this formal attire? Who wears a suit to seduce people?”

Ning Junyan nipped at the upper edge of his tie knot with his teeth, slowly pulled it away, pressed his lips against his protruding Adam’s apple, and said, “You just want to seduce me, take off your clothes quickly, and cut the crap.”

Chen Yuncheng suspected that no matter what he was wearing, in Ning Junyan’s eyes, it would look like he was trying to seduce him, so he said helplessly, “Stop making trouble, this is your office, and you are still on duty today.”

Ning Junyan stopped and looked up at him, “Then what are you doing here?”

Chen Yuncheng cupped Ning Junyan’s face with his hands and said, “I miss you, Yanyan. Not only does my body miss you, but my heart misses you too.”

Ning Junyan looked like a wild beast that had been tamed suddenly, put away all the sharpness, raised his arms to hug Chen Yuncheng and leaned against the back of the seat, his palms pressed against Chen Yuncheng’s back, and said, “There is a bed in the duty room.”

Chen Yuncheng closed his eyes, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly, and said, “Don’t even think about it.”

Chapter 76

On the second day after he returned, Ning Junyan transferred 100,000 yuan to Chen Yuncheng’s card, but he didn’t even call Chen Yuncheng beforehand, not even giving him room to refuse.

Chen Yuncheng received a text message alert from the bank, and sat in front of the store in a daze for a long time, then called Ning Junyan, “Ning Junyan.”

“Hm?” Ning Junyan was still at work, standing at the nurse’s station looking through the patient’s medical records while answering Chen Yuncheng’s call.

Chen Yuncheng said, “Let me put myself as the collateral to you.”

Ning Junyan’s clean fingertips tapped on the report sheet in front of him. He stopped turning the pages, and said, “Then, move back in.”

The nurse who was sitting in the nurse’s station and was immersed in writing suddenly raised her head, opened her eyes wide to look at Ning Junyan, and then quickly lowered her head.

Chen Yuncheng said, “Give me a little more time, I promise you, it will be soon.”

Ning Junyan asked him, “How fast is soon?”

Chen Yuncheng replied, “I am going to be swamped soon. Since I want to do this, I want to do my best. When I can afford to pay you back, we’ll live together, okay?”

Ning Junyan said, “What kind of collateral is that for me? You just like to coax me.”

At this moment, another nurse happened to walk in, pulled out a chair and sat down. She heard Ning Junyan’s words, showed a terrified expression, carefully looked at Ning Junyan’s face, and confirmed that she did not identify the wrong person.

Ning Junyan asked him again, “What if you don’t make enough money?”

Chen Yuncheng suppressed his shame, and said in a low voice, “Then I’m yours too, so I promise I won’t push you away in the future, okay?”

After a moment of silence, Ning Junyan said, “I’ll go prepare a contract, so you can sign it.”

Chen Yuncheng couldn’t help but smile when he heard the words, “Do you think it’s useful?”

Ning Junyan said, “It may not be useful to others, but it ought to be useful to you. You should remember what you said to me today.” After he said that, Ning Junyan closed the medical record, handed it to the nurse and turned to leave.

The nurse took the medical record book, her mouth reacting faster than her brain, and called out to him, “Chief Ning!”

Ning Junyan turned to look at her.

The nurse next to her hurriedly bumped her with an elbow. She came back to her senses and asked, “Are you still reading the medical records? Shall I put it away if not?”

Ning Junyan said, “Put it away first, I’ll come over later.”

After Ning Junyan left, the two nurses came together and were surprised to see each other.

“What did you call him for?”

“I don’t know, I just called out suddenly.”

“Who was he talking to on the phone? A girlfriend? I haven’t heard that he has a girlfriend.”

“How do I know? I just heard it when I came over. It scared me! Did you hear that? Ning Junyan is acting like a baby, it’s terrible.”

“I don’t know how many people are about to get their hearts broken.”

“What kind of heartbroken? What you said is hilarious, I haven’t seen anyone who dares to chase him.”

“Unrequited love is also a cause for a broken heart.”

       …

Chen Yuncheng received a copy of the mortgage contract from the same city courier that night, and Ning Junyan printed out all the shameful words he said on the phone and asked him to sign.

When he was sitting by the bed looking at the contract, Guan Anlin moved closer to read it, but Chen Yuncheng quickly blocked it with his hand.

“What?” Guan Anlin was not very happy, only saw the words of the mortgage loan contract on it, and asked, “What did you mortgage?”

Chen Yuncheng folded the contract, stuffed it back into the envelope worriedly and put it under his pillow, “Don’t worry about it.” Then he said, “I’m going out for a while now, help me keep an eye on the business.”

“Where are you going?” Guan Anlin asked.

Chen Yuncheng said, “To the distillery.”

He told Ning Junyan that he would be very busy these days and that was not a perfunctory reply, since he decided to get an agent, there would be a lot of things to do next.

The first thing he did was to take three days to visit a distillery located in another province personally. The distillery was quite small, but the production environment was good, and because it was small, it was easy to connect. Chen Yuncheng suggested that he would like to change some of the goods into small packages when he picked up the goods, and the other party also expressed that they could discuss it.

After he returned, Chen Yuncheng started visiting hot pot restaurants in the city. He first visited several chain stores with good business and offered to put the wine on consignment in the shops without paying for it. The hot pot restaurant would be paid according to the number of pieces sold. He also had small custom-made billboards and posters that he hoped to place in the shops for free publicity.

In the beginning, he encountered a lot of rejections, and even couldn’t even meet the boss in many cases, but he didn’t have time to be depressed, so he immediately rushed to the next one, and continued to have the audacity to approach the owner to talk about business.

At first, Sun Shiliang introduced him to a close friend who runs a hot pot restaurant and asked him to deliver wine there. Later, Chen Yuncheng expanded his scope and found some small shops and Chinese restaurants with good business, and gradually began to improve.

It was just that it was too tiring. Even if Chen Yuncheng was driven out by his foster father to steal money when he was a child, he was not as tired as he was now. He had to work late into the night almost every day, sometimes not even having time to eat, and could only buy a loaf of bread on the side of the road to eat.

In addition to this, there were all sorts of social engagements. Chen Yuncheng was not a smoker, but over time he found that there was no way to avoid it and he became addicted to smoking.

Once Chen Yuncheng came back from a social event and drank too much. The taxi took him to the entrance of the trade market. He stumbled into the market alone, and when he reached the entrance of the shop, he couldn’t find the key, so he sat down on the ground against the roller shutter door.

Chen Yuncheng raised his head and stared at the sky in a daze. The night sky of the city had neither stars nor moon, it was just pitch black, the night was thick and sticky, not bright at all.

After a while, Guan Anlin heard the sound and opened the small door. He saw Chen Yuncheng sitting at the door, and froze for a moment as he asked, “Are you okay?” As he said that, he reached out to help Chen Yuncheng up from the ground, and took him inside.

When Chen Yuncheng entered the room, the first thing he did was to run to the bathroom and vomit.

Guan Anlin looked disgusted and opened the window to disperse the smell of alcohol, then lit a cigarette to make the air in the room even more polluted. He then leaned against the door and asked him, “Why are you so desperate?”

Chen Yuncheng vomited enough, got up, rinsed his mouth and face with cold water, and slurred, “fvcking…”

“Who is fvcking with you?” Guan Anlin thought he was swearing.

“His mother wants to steal him from me. If I don’t make more money, I have no confidence. It was his mother who took him away before.”

Guan Anlin originally wanted to ask who is this his mother was, Having heard about this before, he suddenly realized and asked, “You mean Ning Junyan?”

Chen Yuncheng felt uncomfortable, so he took off his clothes and lay down on the bed.

Guan Anlin finished his cigarette, stood by the bed and looked at him, saying, “You’re just that desperate for him, huh?”

Chen Yuncheng opened his eyes and felt that the light was too bright, so he raised his arm to cover his eyes and said, “Turn off the light.”

Guan Anlin walked to the door and turned off the lights in the room, leaving only the street lights shining in from the windows in the room.

When Guan Anlin was climbing up to the upper bunk, Chen Yuncheng said, “I thought that if I had been willing to work hard earlier, Zhou Yan would not have killed someone.”

Guan Anlin moved for a moment, then sharply turned around and sat on the edge of the top bunk bed, the iron bed shifting with his movements as he said, “All you see is Zhou Yan, and that wild man of yours.”

Chen Yuncheng said in a vague voice, “Isn’t there still you? I have no relatives, only brothers left. You are all doing very well, I’m serious.”

Guan Anlin lay face up on the bed and whispered, “Isn’t it nauseating?”

The next morning, Guan Anlin woke up first. He got out of bed and saw that Chen Yuncheng was still sleeping soundly. He suddenly couldn’t bear to wake him up and closed the door gently as he went out alone.

Chen Yuncheng didn’t get up until after ten o’clock, his hangover hadn’t passed, and he had a terrible headache, so he got up and took a shower and changed into clean clothes before coming out to the shop.

He ate instant noodles for breakfast in the store. Chen Yuncheng watched the newly recruited driver last month and Shi Peng stocking up together, and Wu Xiaozhu helped them count with the stocking list.

Because he spent too much time running outside, he wanted to leave Guan Anlin in the store. Seeing that Shi Peng had almost been able to do things properly, he went to hire another delivery driver, and after discussing with Sun Shiliang, he replaced the van with a pickup truck.

He had been so busy for two or three months, the season has entered midsummer, and every day before noon, the disturbing cicadas began to chirp in the trees in front of the shop.

The liquor that Chen Yuncheng promoted had opened up in the market, and the business at the tobacco shop was getting better and better.

At this time, Guan Anlin was crouching at the door waiting for customers to come to him.

When Chen Yuncheng walked up to him, he saw his gaze falling on the legs of a woman in a short skirt at the entrance of the shop across the street and couldn’t help but slap him on the head.

Guan Anlin raised his hand to cover his head, “What?”

Chen Yuncheng said, “Come with me to the fair next week, I’ve applied for a booth.”

       Guan Anlin said, “Okay.”

Chen Yuncheng was thinking about something, and after a while, he said, “Buy two suits.”

Guan Anlin looked at him, “Are we going to wear them?”

       Chen Yuncheng nodded.

Guan Anlin said, “I’ve never worn a suit, should I buy it from Taobao?”

Chen Yuncheng thought for a while and said, “Let’s buy it at the mall.”

Notes:
Taobao ftw actually.. Taobao cheap and sometimes you can get a good quality from there…

Chapter 75

Chen Yuncheng let Ning Junyan hold him in his arms and said to him, “I can’t borrow your money anymore.”

Ning Junyan bowed his head and kissed Chen Yuncheng’s hair.

Chen Yuncheng said, “This money is used to invest in a business. It’s different from the need to save someone’s life as soon as possible. This time, it’s not necessary. I slow down and take my time. As long as I work harder, I can always make money.”

Ning Junyan tilted his head, rubbing his cheek against the top of his head, as if he could not enjoy this intimate touch more, and said, “Then what am I going to do with the money?”

Chen Yuncheng said “Huh?” and gave him a puzzled look, “What?”

Ning Junyan said, “I want to make money to provide for my wife.”

Chen Yuncheng couldn’t help but laugh when he heard the words, “I don’t want you to provide me.”

Ning Junyan said, “Then you admit to being my wife?”

Chen Yuncheng smiled and did not speak.

Ning Junyan said again, “Then you can provide for me, I will give you all my money, and you will buy me everything in the future.”

Chen Yuncheng said: “Whatever you want now, I will buy it for you if I can afford it. You don’t need to hand over the money to me.”

Ning Junyan was silent for a while, and said, “Don’t you think that’s unfair?”

       “How is it unfair?”

Ning Junyan cupped Chen Yuncheng’s chin with his hands, lifted his head and looked at him with a serious expression, “You think I can spend your money, but you can’t spend mine. Do you put us on an equal footing inside your heart?”

Chen Yuncheng thought for a while, and answered him seriously, “This is different. What I need now is not such a small amount of money for daily expenses. Doing business is very risky, and the money I invest may not always pay off. So how can you ask me to take a risk with your money? And also I still owe you money.”

“You also refuse to use my money for daily expenses, you don’t even live in the house, and you don’t want the clothes, what do you take me for?” Ning Jun Yan’s tone was a little cold like he was really angry.

Chen Yuncheng tried to sit up, but he first pushed away Ning Junyan’s hand that was pinning him down, and just as he braced himself to leave Ning Junyan’s embrace, he was grabbed back by Ning Junyan again.

Ning Junyan put his arms around him, and said coldly, “What are you running for!”

Chen Yuncheng had no choice but to continue to let Ning Junyan hold him, and said, “I am very serious about this relationship, don’t say that to me. Perhaps because I am too serious about this, sometimes I don’t know how to deal with it.” After he finished speaking, Chen Yuncheng looked up at Ning Junyan, he was always afraid that if he did not do well enough in some things, one day it would affect the relationship between him and Ning Junyan.

Ning Junyan was stared at by Chen Yuncheng for a long time, his eyelashes drooped, his eyes became soft, and he asked Chen Yuncheng, “So what are your plans for this money?”

Chen Yuncheng said, “I’m going to find a way to borrow it, and I’ll think of a way.”

Ning Junyan asked again, “What way?”

“A bank or some financial institution,” Chen Yuncheng had been looking at various financial institutions for loans, hoping to find one that was slightly more reliable.

Ning Junyan asked, “Do you want to try a mortgage loan1A mortgage is an agreement between you and a lender that gives the lender the right to take your property if you fail to repay the money you’ve borrowed plus interest.?”

Chen Yuncheng was a little strange, and said, “What to take as collateral? I don’t have anything as collateral.”

Ning Junyan lifted Chen Yuncheng’s face and looked at it, then stretched out his hand to lift the quilt to take a look that they were both still undressed. Chen Yuncheng quickly pulled back the quilt and then heard Ning Junyan say, “Take your body as collateral.”

Chen Yuncheng was angry and amused and said, “My body is only worth 100,000 yuan?”

Ning Junyan said flatly, “And no one wants it but me.”

Chen Yuncheng did not agree, “That’s not necessarily true.”

Ning Junyan suddenly rolled over and pinned him down, and said in a cold tone, “It’s not necessarily true indeed. Don’t even think about it.”

Chen Yuncheng looked at him with a faint smile, “Knock it off.”

Ning Junyan relaxed his strength, lay on Chen Yuncheng’s body, and said, “Give yourself to me as collateral, and I’ll give you the money. If 100,000 yuan is not enough, I’ll try to earn more, and I’ll give you as much as I want.”

Chen Yuncheng raised his arms to hug him, and suddenly felt sourness in his heart, and said, “Enough is enough. Only in your heart, I am worth so much money.”

Ning Junyan said, “Everything all good now?”

Chen Yuncheng answered him, “Let me give it some thoughts again.”

They woke up very early the next day, and Ning Junyan drove to pick up Gu Yaojia and the child, and then rushed to Zhou Yan’s hometown Central Court.

When she arrived at the court, the trial had not yet started. When Gu Yaojia wanted to enter the court with her son in her arms, she was stopped by the bailiff and the child was not allowed to enter.

Gu Yaojia was in a difficult position and begged the bailiff for a few minutes, but was not accommodated.

Ning Junyan then said, “You can leave the child to me and go in.”

Gu Yaojia heard the words and looked at him.

Chen Yuncheng said to Gu Yaojia, “Let him watch the child while the two of us go in and listen to the court hearing.”

Gu Yaojia had no better choice and handed over the child to Ning Junyan.

The child cried all of a sudden as he was handed over to the strange man.

Chen Yuncheng saw that Ning Junyan frowned, looking a little at a loss, and asked him, “Are you going to be fine?”

       Ning Junyan just nodded.

Gu Yaojia comforted the child for a while and only when she heard that the court was about to start inside did she go in with Chen Yuncheng and find a seat.

When Zhou Yan was brought out by the bailiff, he glanced in their direction, looking slightly agitated, but soon he stood in the defendant’s position with his back to them.

Chen Yuncheng hadn’t seen Zhou Yan for several months. His hair was cut very short, and after being locked up in the detention centre for so long, he looked surprisingly paler and fatter

Gu Yaojia sat next to Chen Yuncheng, staring at Zhou Yan’s back with red eyes.

The trial was a bit dull, the legal aid agency had appointed a lawyer for Zhou Yan, but because Zhou Yan had already pleaded guilty, the lawyer only tried to defend him as lightly as possible.

Midway through the trial, Chen Yuncheng came out and saw Ning Junyan sitting on the bench outside, looking at the sleeping child lying on his lap, with no emotion in his eyes.

“Asleep?” Chen Yuncheng walked to him and asked him in a low voice.

Ning Junyan raised his head and gave a soft “hmm”.

Chen Yuncheng was suddenly curious about Ning Junyan’s thoughts, and asked him, “Do you think the child is cute?”

“No,” Ning Junyan replied without thinking.

Chen Yuncheng stretched out a hand to him, “You really don’t want a child at all?”

Ning Junyan took Chen Yuncheng’s hand and touched it to his lips, “I don’t need one, you’re enough.”

The trial lasted until noon and was adjourned for an hour, and the verdict was not delivered until the afternoon.

Zhou Yan was convicted of intentional homicide and theft and sentenced to fifteen years in prison for both crimes. He said in court that he would not appeal.

Gu Yaojia suddenly got up at this point. She left the courtroom and went out to hold the child and tried to come in, but was stopped by the bailiff at the door, so she shouted Zhou Yan’s name.

       Zhou Yan turned around.

Gu Yaojia cried and said, “Look at your son!”

The bailiff quickly took Gu Yaojia out.

Chen Yuncheng watched as Zhou Yan cried bitterly, and couldn’t help but got his eyes. He waited until Zhou Yan was taken away by the bailiff, then got up and left the court.

Outside the courtroom, Gu Yaojia was sitting on a bench, holding the baby and crying all the time, while Ning Junyan stood beside her and calmly handed her a tissue.

Gu Yaojia reached out and took it, unable to even say the word ‘thank you’ properly.

Chen Yuncheng came over and stood beside Ning Junyan. Ning Junyan glanced at him and handed over the whole pack of tissues, “Do you need it?”

“No,” Chen Yuncheng said and just stood a little closer to Ning Junyan. The back of his hand lightly touched the back of Ning Jungyan’s hand, until Ning Junyan grabbed his hand and held it firmly.

They waited until Gu Yaojia recovered a little before leaving, and drove Gu Yaojia home for two hours.

When they said goodbye, only Chen Yuncheng got out of the car, and Ning Junyan sat in the driver’s seat without moving.

Holding the sleeping child in her arms, Gu Yaojia said to Chen Yuncheng, “Cheng ge, thank you.”

Chen Yuncheng shook his head, hesitated, and said, “If it’s possible, would you like to take your child to visit Zhou Yan?”

Gu Yaojia replied, “I don’t know, do you think it’s good for the child?”

Chen Yuncheng can’t answer this question. Zhou Yan was his friend, and from his point of view, he would always think more about Zhou Yan. He knew that Zhou Yan must very much hope that his son can visit him. As for whether it was good for the child, he really couldn’t figure it out either.

“It’s okay,” Chen Yuncheng said, “You could think about it, after all, you are the child’s mother.”

Gu Yaojia nodded, and she asked Chen Yuncheng, “Cheng ge, are you and Dr. Ning—”

       Chen Yuncheng said, “Yeah?”

Gu Yaojia smiled, “It’s nothing, thank you for coming to pick me up, do you still have to rush back now?”

Chen Yuncheng replied, “Yes, Dr. Ning has to go to work tomorrow.”

Gu Yaojia said, “Be careful on the road, and send me a message when you arrive.”

“Okay,” Chen Yuncheng said. He stepped back and waved to Gu Yaojia, turned around and opened the car door, returned to the passenger seat, and said to Ning Junyan, “Let’s go.”

Chapter 24

Xu Ye hadn’t completely calmed down until he got home.

He thought he was a good kisser and had a lot of experience, but he was ashamed of himself for reacting like an inexperienced person in that man’s arms. He felt that he had been poisoned by something called Chu Yu. This poison caused him to throw away his armour, and lose control of himself like a newly hatched chick.

“This is really crazy…” Xu Ye fell on his back on the bed and sighed.

The dinner was made by Auntie Qin, the hourly worker. She was cutting vegetables when she saw Xu Ye standing at the kitchen door looking her way, and hurriedly asked, “Are you hungry? I’ll hurry up.”

“Not hungry. Take your time and let me see how these dishes are made.” Xu Ye folded his hands and leaned against the door.

Aunt Qin froze and thought that Xu Ye was joking, but found that Xu Ye was looking at her seriously. She didn’t understand how this young master, who usually didn’t have any interest, suddenly became interested in learning how to cook, but she was very happy in her heart, and told him the main points in a rambunctious manner.

“This one needs to be marinated for a while, not too long, ten minutes is enough…”

“Put some vinegar in the pot first, it will taste crisper…”

“Take this plate with the fish and pour the soup over it slowly, wipe off any drips on the sides with a paper towel…”

When he ate, Xu Ye deliberately slowed down. Some habits need to be changed over time. Since Chu Yu had already interfered in his life without control, he should at least also be willing to make some changes. Besides, he couldn’t just count the grains of rice every time he ate.

The day went on as scheduled.

At work, Xu Ye was someone serious and meticulous, and he used to push himself very hard. The master-slave relationship under the guidance of Chu Yu was a way for him to relax; to think about nothing, and entrust himself to another person wholeheartedly. In addition to venting desires, it was also a way of relaxing his mind and obtaining psychological comfort.

After a certain period of relaxation, Xu Ye’s mind was much calmer. He seemed calmer and smiled more compared to his aggressive, anxious and irritable self in the past. At the regular meeting on Monday, the advertising department made a mistake and the whole department was silent. However all Xu Ye said was only, “Redo it”. In the past, he would have made countless holes in people with his harsh, almost mean, criticisms, not to mention the hellish overtime that followed.

When Xu Ye’s secretary, Lily, passed by the administrative department, she heard the female staff gather together to gossip in secret.

“Have you noticed that Mr Xu is particularly gentle today?”

“He’s not in a relationship, is he?”

“It’s possible. Who’s that lucky person? It’s not that Li peac0ck from the sales department, is it?”

“Hey, no way, he doesn’t have such a bad sight.”

“Last time I saw Li peac0ck staying in his office for a long time, she was wearing a low-cut collar and her breasts were sticking out.”

Lily scoffed at these speculations, and thought, Even if it was a relationship, it would be with a man instead.

But in the evening, her conviction was shattered. As a secretary, Lily had long developed a knack for reading people, and it only took her a few glances to see the general picture. Right now, she was looking at the young woman who has come to see Xu Ye quietly.

With the expensive but simple skirts, the designer heels, the low-key and luxurious diamond ornaments on the hairpiece, the chic and elegant pendants around the neck, and the limited-edition handbags from a certain big-name brand, this was a girl of wealth and substance. Her smile showed her politeness, and her slightly raised chin showed her confidence. It was not often that a woman came to see Xu Ye, and Lily felt that this girl had some subtle relationship with him. This was further proved by how Xu Ye came out to greet her in person.

Lily made a cup of scented tea and brought it to Xu Ye’s office. After deliberately dawdling for a while, she pricked up her ears and heard the woman say, “I left in such a hurry that I forgot to give you back your suit.” She walked out without saying a word, her heart in her throat.

So this young master was into women! I can’t believe I had misjudged him.

Xu Ye had no idea what his secretary was thinking, and Song Yueran’s sudden visit surprised him. He took the initiative to invite her to a meal with him when he saw it was mealtime.

“What would you like to eat?” He was still a gentleman when it came to women.

“Speaking of which, I don’t think I’ve been to your restaurant once.” Song Yueran blinked, “Would Mr Xu be willing to show me around?”

“It’s an honour.” Xu Ye smiled.

The meal was very cordial. Song Yueran was much more laid back than those so-called respectable ladies and had a wide range of hobbies. There were also many common topics between the two. This atmosphere made Xu Ye feel at ease and the two of them naturally warmed up to each other.

“The food here tastes very good.” Song Yueran praised as she ate, “The salmon is good too.”

Xu Ye smiled. “Previously, there was an accident in the branch where the ingredients were spoiled. Later, the seafood supplier changed, and we had a third-party inspection to ensure the quality.”

“It’s not easy to open a restaurant.” Song Yueran suddenly asked, “Did you adapt to it well when you first started working?”

“There was a period of adjustment and I had to learn a lot of things from scratch.”

“I have been working in my dad’s company for two days, and I feel like a piece of wood1slow-witted. I don’t understand anything, and the interpersonal relationship seems complicated.” She sighed, “You have to teach me more about management.”

“Sure.” Xu Ye agreed without hesitation.

“Let’s talk about something interesting.” She laughed, “I’m having a party at Moyin on Thursday night, are you free?”

Xu Ye thought about it and nodded.

Moyin was a high-end club that specializes in hosting birthday parties and get-togethers.

This was the class in which Song Yueran was, and her friends were naturally the second generation of officials and businessmen. This time, Song Wanhua arranged a party for her in order to let her get acquainted with people in this circle as soon as possible and expand her own network. Therefore, it was no surprise to Xu Ye when she saw Liu Jing at the billiard table.

“Hi, buddy.” Liu Jing shook the wine glass in his hand at him, and patted the girl beside him affectionately on the back, whispering something. The girl blushed and walked away.

Xu Ye also took a glass of wine, leaned against the table, and said with a smile, “Changing your preference?”

“It’s my family’s idea, the second daughter of Qinglong Industries.” Liu Jing’s expression was very flat, “They’ve been pushing me to get married, and it seemed that I won’t be able to delay it another year. “

Xu Ye was noncommittal. Most homosexuals were pressured from all sides to have a marriage, even if it was just a formality. This was especially true for second generations like them, no matter what orientation and preference they had, they all needed marriage to protect the interests of the family and to reproduce heirs. He was silent for a moment and asked, “Does she know?”

Liu Jing’s sexuality was not a secret in his circle, he never concealed it, and he was open about it. So Xu Ye didn’t think the girl would be unaware of it.

“She’s willing to pretend she doesn’t know, so naturally I’ll play along.” Liu Jing took a sip of her wine and said with a smile, “Does yours know?”

“What?” Xu Ye was taken aback.

“Song Yueran. Rumours have gone crazy recently, saying that you two are getting together.” Liu Jing glanced at him.

Xu Ye frowned, “Nuts, I’ve only met her twice in total.”

“It seems that your family is also in a hurry, haha.” Liu Jing laughed.

Xu Ting was the only one who could release such news, and he was forcing him into a trap. Xu Ye was so angry that he raised his neck and drained his glass of wine. He lost his desire to join in the fun, so he decided to greet Song Yueran and leave. However, after he searched for her, she was nowhere to be found, Xu Ye went to the swimming pool outside to get some fresh air and saw Song Yueran beside the flower stand. A young girl stood across from her, and the two were arguing about something, which seemed intense.

When Xu Ye was hesitating whether to go over, the other girl raised her hand and slapped Song Yueran across the face. He frowned and walked over.

“No matter what the reason is, it doesn’t seem good to hit someone.” He recognized that the assailant was the daughter of a real estate company, and her named seemed to be Chen Jianyi.

When she saw him coming, Chen Jianyi sneered, and left after saying, “You should be more careful lest you are killed by your hard-hearted girlfriend” and left.

Song Yueran wept to herself. Her cheeks were flushed from the slap, and her makeup was smudged by tears. The water from the illuminated pool reflected on her face, and she looked helpless. Xu Ye gave her his coat and sat quietly in the corner with her.

“I’m sorry to make you see me like this.” Song Yueran calmed down and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.

“I don’t think you’re the kind of girl who lets people bully you.” Xu Ye handed her a glass of warm water, “Why did she hit you?” He added after asking, “You don’t have to say anything you don’t want to, I don’t mean to pry.”

She smiled wryly, “She hit me, but I couldn’t fight back. After all, her brother died because of me.”

Xu Ye was a little surprised. After a few moments of searching in his mind, he vaguely remembered that Chen Jianyi seemed to have an older brother, but he couldn’t remember exactly what he looked like.

“We went to the same high school and later went to the same university. Then it was only natural that we fell in love. At that time, I was very pretentious, that is, the kind of unreasonable girl, who make him do this and that for me. In the middle of winter, I said I wanted to eat a smoothie, so he drove to buy it. At that time, he just got his driver’s license and was not yet proficient, so he had an accident. The reason why I have been abroad for these years is also because of this.” Song Yueran confessed everything without hiding anything “These days, I don’t know who spread the news that…… you and I were getting engaged. When Chen Jianyi heard about it, she came over and questioned me, and then slapped me.” Her eyes got a little redder, and she wiped her tears with the back of her hand. “Actually, I feel really guilty. I’m sorry for Jianyi, but I don’t know what to do. I can’t bring Chen Jianzhe back to life, and I don’t know how to make it up to her…”

Xu Ye stretched out his hand and patted her on the back, “Reminiscence is something you keep in your heart, no matter what you say you have to move on, no one has the right to pull you into the shadows.”

Song Yueran lowered her head and she gave a soft muffled sound.

“As for the rumours between us, I will try my best to dispel them, so don’t worry about them.” Xu Ye said.

She was startled, and pursed her lips, “Thank you.”

Xu Ye could see that Song Yuran was not in the mood to play anymore, so he simply sent her back.

The next morning, he went to Xu Ting’s office and asked, “Are you the one who release the news about the engagement?”

Xu Ting was unimpressed and said, “Didn’t you hit it off with the daughter of the Song family? I heard you hugged her last night. Why are you here now?”

“You are really well-informed.” Xu Ye gritted his teeth, “I’m telling you, we just get along with each other, it has nothing to do with engagement and marriage.”

“Love will come and can be developed.”

“Really? Then how come you and my mother haven’t developed it for so many years?” Xu Ye’s tone was full of sarcasm, “Or you have developed it so well that you respect each other like an honoured guest?”

“Xu Ye!” Xu Ting couldn’t hold back his temper, and became angry, “Don’t talk to me here, go do your job!”

“I decide my own affairs, don’t interfere.” Xu Ye slammed the door and walked out.

Every Friday at dinner time, if he didn’t have another job to do, Xu Ye will personally go to a branch to serve himself. This was the rule he set for himself. One reason was to check whether the entire business process was smooth or not, and the other was to receive feedback from customers at close range.

As he smiled and took the feedback form from a table, he looked up and saw the employee ushering a few guests, his expression froze completely.

“Three gentlemen, would you like to sit here?” The employee asked the customer’s opinion softly.

“I’d prefer a more secluded corner.” The brown-haired Marvin said while looking at Xu Ye, smiling a bit ambiguously. Pharaoh beside him nodded politely but said nothing. and the dark-haired man in a white shirt with light vertical stripes slightly curled his lips towards him, his gaze was as still as a bright moon.

Xu Ye was caught in that gaze, his breath caught in his throat, and his heart was beating so fast that it was about to jump out. He was so nervous that he froze in place, at a loss for what to do.

       His master had come.

Chapter 43

Zhou Mo suspected he had misread it and sent three question marks in a row, asking: Who are you in love with?

Suo Yang stood up and stretched, then leaned against the window and replied: Shen Huiming.

A voice call came in from Zhou Mo.

“What’s the situation?” Zhou Mo said in surprise, “Why are you two secretly communicating behind my back?”

Suo Yang smiled softly, “We’ve known each other since before your birthday.”

       “……Really?”

“Well, he was on a business trip to New York once and took my flight.”

Zhou Mo was even more surprised, “And then you saw each other after that? That’s not right! You’re not that kind of person!”

“It’s not true, but there are always unforeseen things.” Suo Yang briefly told Zhou Mo about the several ‘encounters’ he had with Shen Huiming, and after hearing that, Zhou Mo couldn’t help but feel that fate was really to blame.

“Ming ge is pretty good,” Zhou Mo said, “but this guy is really… What should I say to him.”

       “Huh? What’s the matter?”

Zhou Mo sneered, “He’s really good at pretending. Did you know that?”

       “What’s the meaning?”

“Didn’t I introduce Jiang Tongyan to you on my birthday? I originally wanted to introduce Ming ge to you,” Zhou Mo said. “but then he pretended to say that he had no intention of being in a relationship for the time being and that he should concentrate on his career first. Tsk, what a hypocrite! “

       Suo Yang laughed out loud.

“Oh, but then again, you two hadn’t met each other yet at that time,” Zhou Mo said, “He’s also good at it too. Is this a case of seeing what you desire?”

It didn’t matter if it was a fling or anything else. The important thing was that they were together now, and Suo Yang could feel Shen Huiming’s sincerity.

“Does Jiang Tongyan know about this?” Zhou Mo said, “He’s in deep shit.”

       “Why do you say that?”

“There is a curse between him and Old Shen. Haven’t you heard of it?” Zhou Mo laughed, “Whenever Jiang Tongyan likes someone, that person is bound to like Shen Huiming!”

       Suo Yang laughed out loud.

He remembered this incident, but at that time, he didn’t feel that this ‘curse’ would come true to him.

However, Jiang Tongyan might not really have fallen for him. After all, he hadn’t contacted him since that meeting.

Zhou Mo was in a good mood as he listened to Suo Yang laugh.

He had always regarded Suo Yang as his best friend for so many years. When he saw that Suo Yang was finally willing to look for someone and found a good one, Zhou Mo was happy too.

“Where are you?” Zhou Mo knew he was at the hotel, “Old Shen didn’t fly with you, did he?”

Back in the days before Zhou Mo changed careers, Cheng Sen chased after him and flew with him at every turn. The two flirted with each other on the plane, and after getting off the plane, they looked for a place to rent a room. Life was so good.

“I’m in Rio,” Suo Yang said, “Huiming has a lot going on at his company, so he can’t just leave whenever he can.”

“Yo yo, Huiming!” Zhou Mo said with a gossipy laugh, “Calling so sweetly!”

Suo Yang laughed and didn’t say much.

“But it’s true, old Shen is all on his own. It’s very hard work,” Zhou Mo said, “Okay, I won’t bother you anymore. You should take the time to recuperate and come back to make up for your hard-working man.”

There was nothing Suo Yang could do with him; this man had always spoken immoderately.

“It’s time to hang up. I have to pack up and get ready to go out.” Zhou Mo muttered at the end, “I’ll have to find a chance to get old Shen to treat me to a big meal!”

“I’ll treat you.” Suo Yang said with a smile, “I’ll contact you when I get back.”

After he hung up the phone, Suo Yang smiled and let out a long sigh of relief.

This was the first time he had heard about Shen Huiming’s refusal to be introduced by Zhou Mo. He didn’t expect that there would be such a story.

Suo Yang, who had had enough sleep and didn’t want to go out with his colleagues, changed his clothes and wandered alone on the streets of Rio, wanting to see if there was anything he could buy back as a gift for Shen Huiming.

At this point, Suo Yang suddenly realized that the two of them really didn’t know each other well enough, and they didn’t even know each other’s likes and dislikes. He understood that he could only discover these things slowly in the future and write them down bit by bit.

He could even imagine that whatever he gave, the other party would accept it like a treasure and then say he liked it.

But he still hoped to match what he liked and hoped that what he gave to Shen Huiming was what the other party liked and could really use.

As he was walking along this road, he suddenly smelled the aroma of coffee.

He suddenly remembered that the last time he went to Shen Huiming’s company, he drank the coffee Jiang Tongyan gave.

Suo Yang stopped, followed the aroma, and looked around. He then finally found the source of the coffee aroma.

What he thought when he pushed the door open was: Next time, I want Shen Huiming to say that my lover brought this back from Brazil when he invited people for coffee.

He smiled self-deprecatingly. Why was he still feeling jealous?

===

The night before Suo Yang’s return, Shen Huiming stayed up all night to finish all the work he could handle so that at least he had half a day free to go and pick up Suo Yang.

He realised that he didn’t tell Suo Yang he would be there, and when he finally contacted the other party, he only said, “It will depend on the situation at that time”.

Life was always going to be a bit of a surprise!

Shen Huiming slept for over three hours, got up at seven o’clock, went to the nearby market to buy some ingredients, and left for the airport at almost nine o’clock, waiting to pick up his hard-working boyfriend home.

This kind of life was too blissful, which made Shen Huiming feel like he and Suo Yang had already lived a married life.

When he arrived at the airport, Suo Yang hadn’t landed yet, and Shen Huiming was really inexperienced in picking up a flight attendant and didn’t know whether he should wait with everyone at the international arrival exit.

He pondered for a while, found a coffee shop to sit down, sent a message to Suo Yang, and then waited there quietly.

This time, Shen Huiming had no urgent work, so he brought out the book with the coffee-stained cover and sat in the coffee shop at the far end of the airport lobby, holding his mobile phone and scrolling through Suo Yang’s Weibo.

In Rio de Janeiro, Suo Yang said he missed him.

Shen Huiming smiled and clicked on it, replying: I miss you too.

Shen Huiming didn’t have a Weibo at first, but when he was in Berlin last time, he knew that Suo Yang was playing Weibo, so he remembered it. In the past few days, on a whim, he also registered one.

He didn’t even bother changing his avatar and ID; the only person he followed was ‘Sky Mirror’.

After replying to Suo Yang’s Weibo, Shen Huiming saw Zhou Mo’s comments. Zhou Mo’s profile picture was a photo of him and Cheng Sen, but the photo only showed a part of Zhou Mo leaning on his shoulder. Cheng Sen’s face was not shown.

The bored Shen Huiming clicked on Zhou Mo’s Weibo, and the first thing he saw was: My best friend has been pigged out, and although the pig is not bad, it feels like a loss!

Shen Huiming probably guessed what he was talking about, smiled helplessly, and said to himself, Am I a pig?

From where Shen Huiming was sitting, he could see the blue sky at a glance. He put down his mobile phone, stared at the planes taking off and landing, and guessed which one of the returning planes had his sweetheart on board.

Suo Yang’s flight landed on time, and after finishing his work, he turned on his phone.

Shen Huiming said: I’m here, waiting for you.

“Yang ge, why are you so happy?” A colleague came in to change clothes, saw him standing there with his mobile phone and giggled, and deliberately made fun of him, “A lover?”

Suo Yang replied with a smile, “Yes.”

The other party was a little surprised and then congratulated again and again.

Suo Yang was anxious to see Shen Huiming, and after he changed his uniform, he didn’t chat with his colleagues. He made an excuse and left first.

After he came out, he called Shen Huiming, “Where are you?”

Shen Huiming said the location of the coffee shop he was in. He smiled and asked, “Miss me?”

Suo Yang smiled lightly and did not answer.

“I know even if you don’t say it.” Shen Huiming said, “You missed me when you were in Rio.”

Suo Yang was a little surprised, “Did you see my Weibo post?”

“From now on, just tell me directly if you miss me,” Shen Huiming smiled, “Showing love over the air, wouldn’t it be a loss if I don’t know?”

Suo Yang dragged his suitcase, passed through the noisy crowd at the airport, and walked quickly towards the coffee shop on the far side.

Him, “Okay, next time I miss you, I will tell you directly.”

“Where are you?” Shen Huiming asked, “I’ll go to your side to meet you.”

       “No need, I…”

“I miss you,” Shen Huiming got up and walked outside, “If I can see you one minute earlier, I will earn an extra minute.”

The two big men, surprisingly so cringy, Suo Yang smiled so much that his ears burned.

The two walked towards each other on the phone like this and saw each other’s figures through the people they were passing by.

“Want to kiss you right here.” As they finally got closer and stood in front of the other party, Shen Huiming stared at Suo Yang, “It’s going to be hard to control myself.”

“But you still have to control it.” Suo Yang put the phone away and looked at him with a smile, “I’ll let you kiss me when we get back.”

This was already the most cringe thing that Suo Yang could say.

Shen Huiming was happy and led the other party out quickly.

However, although Suo Yang said that he would give him a kiss after they got back, actually, as soon as he sat in the passenger seat, Shen Huiming came over and took the opportunity to kiss him under the pretext of helping him fasten his seat belt.

“Why am I like this?” Shen Huiming said after kissing him, “Like a bad wolf.”

“You are aware of that, huh?” Suo Yang took his hand and squeezed it lightly, “Let’s go.”

Shen Huiming sat back and drove Suo Yang away from the airport.

He directly took Suo Yang back to his home and hugged him as soon as he entered the door.

Suo Yang smiled helplessly, letting him cling to himself childishly, and then slowly responded. The two kissed on the sofa for nearly twenty minutes before separating.

“Why is your face so red?” Shen Huiming asked with a smile.

“Why do you think?” Suo Yang looked at the other party, leaned forward and kissed him, “I brought you a gift.”

He patted Shen Huiming lightly, pulled him up from the sofa, and then went to open the suitcase.

“Coffee?” Shen Huiming took the two packs of coffee beans from him, “Why did you think of buying this?”

“Keep one pack at home and one pack at work.” Suo Yang said, “You like coffee, and I can buy speciality coffee from various countries for you in the future.”

Shen Huiming smiled while holding the coffee beans and asked, “Do I smell vinegar1eating vinegar is the way Chinese people say someone is jealous, so in this case, Shen Huiming is teasing Suo Yang by saying he smelled his jealousy?”

Suo Yang, a little embarrassed, turned away from Shen Huiming, squatted there, and pulled the suitcase back up.

“Jealous of Jiang Tongyan too?” Shen Huiming went over and hugged him from behind, “Okay, go for it. You are so cute when you are jealous.”

Chapter 42

Suo Yang flew to Rio de Janeiro this time, counting the time spent overnight there, the round trip took almost four days.

It was afternoon when they arrived in Rio de Janeiro, and they didn’t return until the next afternoon, so they could rest there for a day.

Suo Yang saw off the last passenger, sorted out the cabin affairs, and turned on the phone after everything was done.

After turning it on, the first message that came in was from Shen Huiming: Saw a plane and instantly missed you.

In fact, he hadn’t gotten used to this state for the time being—having someone think of him all the time, and thinking of someone else all the time. But it was undeniable that when I saw this sentence, the exhaustion accumulated after more than 30 hours of flying was swept away.

There was an 11-hour time difference between here and China. Suo Yang replied to Shen Huiming, who had already fallen asleep where the sun was shining brightly in Rio de Janeiro.

He didn’t say much, just told the other party that he landed safely—Everything is going well, don’t worry.

Suo Yang went to the hotel with everyone. As usual, two people shared a room. This time, the colleague who lived in the same room with him happened to be in the same group as his girlfriend. After the two arrived, they went to open a separate room and then said to him with some embarrassment, “Yang ge, I won’t come to stay at night.”

Suo Yang smiled and nodded to express his understanding.

It was good that she was not coming over, so he was happy to be alone.

He put away his luggage, tidied up briefly, went to take a shower, then picked up the book he brought with him, and lay down on the bed.

Suo Yang felt that he might be influenced by Shen Huiming, and even carried that ‘On Love’ book with him when he went out. He sent this book to Shen Huiming anonymously before, and the two met to finish it together. For Suo Yang, it was actually a re-reading, so he didn’t take it too seriously at the time. Every time Shen Huiming sent him the reading progress, he would turn to that page at the same time and scan the pages.

Today, tired as he was, he actually tried to reread it word by word from the first page.

[In this world, there is nothing stronger than the desire for love.]

Seeing the first sentence of the first chapter, Suo Yang laughed.

When he read this sentence last time, he didn’t think so, but now he nodded.

Shen Huiming seemed to believe that the relationship between them was influenced by ‘Romantic Fatalism’. He believed that the fate of the two had been tied together long ago. As for Suo Yang, he always thought this matter was mysterious before, and he always tried to get rid of ‘Fate’ every time it was mentioned, but always found that it seemed difficult for human beings to get rid of the so-called “Fate”.

However, even if “Fate” always haunted them, it only had a small impact on their lives, and it only leads them to meet, and later on, the whole relationship between them still depended on themselves.

Suo Yang felt that he and Shen Huiming could come together, fate only contributed 30% of the whole development, and the rest should be credited to Shen Huiming.

It was Shen Huiming who made a person who neither expected nor was optimistic about love, willingly write the word ‘love’ on paper.

He leaned on the bed, leaning on the soft pillow, and finished reading the encounter between ‘I1the person in the book’ and Chloe in the book.

He and she, he and him, they all met at thirty thousand feet, on the plane, in the clouds.

As he closed the book, Suo Yang clearly knew that ‘Romantic Fatalism’ was still just a very metaphysical thing. It could reasonably exist in the book, but it might not really exist in reality.

But regardless of whether ‘Romantic Fatalism’ existed or not, he had truly fallen in love with that man, and he truly was missing him on this afternoon in a foreign country.

He glanced at the time. It was 4:30 p.m. Rio de Janeiro time.

It should be the early morning of the next day at Shen Huiming’s place, and the other party must be in a dream.

He picked up his phone and sent another message to Shen Huiming: I wish you another wonderful day when you wake up, and I miss you too.

===

Suo Yang didn’t sleep for long this time, he woke up around eight o’clock.

The first thing he did when he opened his eyes was to touch his phone and check his messages.

This was also a new change for him.

Shen Huiming sent him a photo of his breakfast two hours ago—a bowl of delicious-looking wontons.

Suo Yang had barely eaten since the morning, and he hadn’t felt hungry at first, but when he saw Shen Huiming’s wontons, his stomach suddenly growled shamelessly.

He subconsciously rubbed his stomach, turned over with his mobile phone, and replied to Shen Huiming: Good morning, the wontons look delicious.

Shen Huiming had already finished his coffee when he received the text and was sitting on the sofa with his mobile phone looking through the schedule sent by his assistant yesterday.

       It was another busy day.

Sometimes Shen Huiming thought, just as employees didn’t want to go to work, the boss didn’t want to go to work either, just like students didn’t want to go to school, and teachers didn’t want to either.

Who didn’t want to enjoy life and make money at the same time? But the problem was that they were all ordinary people, and if they didn’t work hard, they just couldn’t afford to eat or live.

He looked at the long list of schedules, and Shen Huiming had a headache, but when Suo Yang’s message came, he was in a good mood.

Shen Huiming replied to him and asked cautiously: Can we do a video call?

He wanted to see Suo Yang.

Suo Yang had never video-called anyone, including his parents.

Shen Huiming hadn’t received a reply for a long time, and he was a little nervous. Although the two were indeed a couple now, they really didn’t know each other well in many habits. He was still afraid that he will touch Suo Yang’s trigger.

Just as he was thinking about how to talk, Suo Yang’s video call invitation came through.

Shen Huiming laughed, thinking that he was being too cautious, while Suo Yang was not so.

The two were separated by more than 17,000 kilometres. truly separated by mountains and water, and when they saw each other on the video, their longing doubled.

“It’s already dark over there, isn’t it?”

“Well, I slept through the evening.”

       Shen Huiming laughed, “Tired?”

“A little bit,” Suo Yang said, “but there is enough rest time, and we will return to the journey tomorrow night.”

Shen Huiming made a rough calculation. If Suo Yang returned tomorrow night, he would arrive in the morning of the day after tomorrow. He quickly glanced at the calendar on the table, intending to free up as much of that morning as possible.

Although Suo Yang said no, he still wanted to pick him up.

“Your wontons seem to be pretty good.” Suo Yang had already gotten off the bed, sat on the chair by the bed and looked out the window, “I’m hungry.”

The phrase ‘I’m hungry’ actually seemed a bit coquettish, which made Shen Huiming wish he could go over and cook wontons for him right away.

“I’ll cook it for you when you come back,” Shen Huiming looked at him with a smile, “What are you going to have later? Authentic Brazilian barbecue?”

Suo Yang laughed out loud, “Shall I eat alone?”

“What? You’re not going out with your colleagues?”

“No,” Suo Yang said, “I don’t really want to go out.”

Shen Huiming smiled, “Then when I have a chance in the future, I will accompany you to go.”

Suo Yang looked at the video of a fully dressed Shen Huiming and suddenly wanted to help the other party tie their cufflinks.

“Okay.” Suo Yang looked at him with a slight smile, “Where else do you plan to go with me?”

“Berlin.” Shen Huiming said, “Let’s go to a wedding later.”

The two men looked at each other for a moment.

Shen Huiming didn’t say it explicitly, because to say it now would make him seem a bit impatient and frivolous, but he was really thinking that when the two of them returned to Berlin in the future, it would be their own wedding they would be attending then.

       If Suo Yang agreed.

“Okay.” Suo Yang replied with a smile.

Shen Huiming knew that Suo Yang agreed to go back to Berlin together, but he secretly changed the meaning in his heart, which brought him a double good mood.

“Are you getting ready to go to the company?” Suo Yang asked.

“Well, it’s almost time.” Shen Huiming didn’t want to go to work in the first place, and now he’s video calling Suo Yang, he didn’t want to go out even more.

Suo Yang smiled, “Go, I won’t bother you anymore.”

Shen Huiming sighed and said, “I desperately need a vacation to travel around the world with you.”

“There will be a chance,” Suo Yang waved to him, “but before that, you still have to work hard to make money.”

Shen Huiming laughed out loud, and couldn’t help feeling that Suo Yang was being genuine.

“Okay, I’m ready to go out.” Shen Huiming looked at the person on the other side of the video reluctantly and said, “I miss you very much. When you come back, I will pick you up.”

Suo Yang smiled and didn’t answer his words, just said to him, “Drive carefully, don’t get too tired.”

The two said ‘goodbye’ to each other, but it was Suo Yang who hung up the video first.

The video call cut off and the room became quiet again.

Suo Yang raised his hand and pinched his face which was a little sore from smiling, and stared at the phone interface in awe.

After the video ended, Shen Huiming sent another message. He said: Contact me anytime if you have anything to do. You are as important as work.

Suo Yang stared at the message with a smile and replied after a long time: Okay.

Shen Huiming put him in the same position as work, which didn’t make Suo Yang unhappy, on the contrary, he thought it was the right thing to do.

Love and lovers were important, but for a mature and rational adult, one should not be easily carried away by emotions.

In this world, it was realistic that one must first survive and live, and only then we could have the energy to love others well.

If Shen Huiming told him today that he was more important than work, Suo Yang might feel disappointed instead.

The person he had chosen should not be like that.

He stretched and looked out the window.

Suo Yang suddenly discovered that he had not only love for Shen Huiming but also admiration.

He appreciated the other party’s reasoning and his way of dealing with the world.

His sight fell from the scenery outside the window to himself reflected in the glass window. This man in pyjamas with dishevelled hair was so lucky. He was doing a job he liked and met his ideal lover. All of this was too wonderful to believe.

He picked up his phone, opened Weibo, and took a picture of the night scene outside the window. When he posted, he added a few rare words.

He wrote: Missing you on this night in Rio de Janeiro.

A few minutes later, a message came from Zhou Mo: What’s going on? Who did you miss?

Suo Yang never thought of hiding it, and admitted openly: I am in love with Shen Huiming.
