Cherish

Chapter 27 – The Mist (3)

As an adult, Qin Yun rarely dreamed of the past, though he occasionally missed his foster mother, Bixi. and the ranch where he spent his childhood—where the grass grew with the arrival of early spring and birds fluttered about until the snowy days of winter

Bixi always had a lazy appearance, with her silver hair casually hanging down. She enjoyed riding horses but had little interest in caring for them. Qin Yun, on the other hand, was the opposite. He could never manage to ride these ‘antique’ creatures, but he took great joy and diligence in feeding them and brushing their coats.

He and Bixi were not related by blood, but they loved each other deeply, just like a real mother and son.

The only time they ever argued was over Qin Yun’s visit to the military headquarters.

They had a cold war for a long time, and until last year Bixi had not been able to forgive him.

Shen Zhuofan was sitting beside the hospital bed, dozing off little by little. When he suddenly woke up, he found Qin Yun looking at him.

“Are you awake?” Shen Zhuofan hurriedly approached him and looked at him, “How do you feel?”

Qin Yun moved his neck, “I can’t feel anything…when did you come?”

Shen Zhuofan sighed, “I’ve been here for three days, and you’ve been in a coma since you returned to the Imperial Capital…” He said with some disapproval, “You’re really reckless, taking so many stimulants like that. Aren’t you afraid of the consequences?”

“I didn’t think much about it at the time.” Qin Yun took a sip of the water brought by the other party, “Anyway, it’s all going to end… might as well give it a final shot. Weren’t you the same back then?”

Shen Zhuofan’s anger welled up, “Could my situation back then be compared to yours?!”

Qin Yun didn’t reply this time. He held the cup silently and stared at the holographic image on the wall.

The news was reporting on the war on Eta Star. The two armies were in a stalemate, and even Moschery had to sit on the front line. The Empire had never been pushed into such a mess before, and the media was even outright criticising this time as a failed battle for the Emperor…

“It’s all bullshit.” Shen Zhuofan turned off the hologram irritably, “The Cabinet only had so much ability to control public opinion. It’s not interesting to watch.”

Qin Yun looked at him and said helplessly, “I haven’t said anything yet… Why are you so angry?”

Shen Zhuofan had a sullen expression. He had always been at odds with the Cabinet, and he had the urge to slap Berlin’s face with the sole of his shoe every minute.

“You should avoid that old hag of a Prime Minister from now on.” Shen Zhuofan said angrily, “Otherwise, who knows how you’ll end up.”

       “…” Qin Yun, “I don’t think I would be seeing her either…”

Shen Zhuofan: “Just because you don’t go to her doesn’t mean that she won’t come to you.” He put on a serious expression, “This time, you have an incident with His Majesty. The Cabinet knows as much as we do; Tristana has already intercepted several waves of their people on your behalf.”

Qin Yun frowned, “But I no longer have the ability to guide…”

Shen Zhuofan sneered, “It is precisely because you are useless that it’s more convenient for them to get rid of you.”

Tristana brought her homemade pancakes to visit the patient. Qin Yun was dumbfounded, looking at the strange patterns on the plate. Shen Zhuofan couldn’t help complaining, “Stop it… No matter how much you do, your household chores point will still be unsatisfactory.”

“…” Tristana pinched his neck and roared, “It’s already good that I’m cooking for you! Eat all of it for me!!”

       Qin Yun: “…”

Shen Zhuofan made a pot of tea, and the two of them finished most of the pancakes with the tea. Tristana crossed her legs on the hospital bed and said disgustedly, “Isn’t this finished…how does it taste?”

Shen Zhuofan twirled his fingers, “It’s too sweet…”

Tristana started to lift up her sleeves.

Qin Yun hurriedly made up for it, “Sweet and crispy! Very delicious!”

The female general then snorted with satisfaction. She looked at Qin Yun and said meaningfully, “You’re quite a sweet talker. No wonder His Majesty likes you.”

“…” Qin Yun was embarrassed to say that his manoeuvre didn’t work well on Moschery…

“It’s just a pity…” Tristana stopped smiling, “You’re too impulsive… I’ve checked your frontline achievements. Your abilities are outstanding, and you prefer independent actions. You single-handedly guided nearly a hundred sentinels at Major General Elberna on G Star. Later, you even managed to divert a high-level guide by yourself… Luckily, His Majesty saved you.”

Being said so by his immediate boss, Qin Yun couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. He wanted to argue that he was just checking the situation, but it was an indisputable fact that he was deceived by Lan Zhi.

In the final analysis, he still overestimated himself and often forgot that he was just a low-level guide.

“A high-level guide has a certain chance of curing the brain nerves of a guide with a lower level than yourself.” Tristana closed her eyes. She regretted, “I tried several times, but it didn’t work for you.”

Shen Zhuofan raised his eyebrows, “You mean… Qin Yun’s real level may be higher than the SS level?”

“I don’t know.” Tristana’s expression was calm, “But you killed a high-level SSS guide, and you are the only one who can channel His Majesty’s consciousness cloud. Even if there is no spiritual link… You shouldn’t be low-level.”

“But it’s too late for anything now…” Qin Yun smiled bitterly and pointed at his brain, “I’m not even as good as a low-level now.”

Tristana smiled, “Everyone makes mistakes sometimes.” She looked at Shen Zhuofan, “Even if others don’t forgive you, occasionally, you need to forgive yourself.”

Shen Zhuofan coughed. He pretended not to understand what the female general said and crossed his arms with a serious expression, “What should we do now? Sooner or later, the Cabinet will know that Qin Yun no longer has the ability to guide. Who will protect him then?”

Tristana sighed, “It depends on His Majesty.” Her expression was very gloomy, “The current situation is very unfavourable to the royal family. I have to take care of it alone, and it is out of His Majesty’s ability. The Cabinet even plans to abolish the imperial power. As for Lin Dongliang…he was finally able to withdraw from the front line, but he had to be temporarily separated from Skarter.”

Qin Yun: “What happened to General Skarter?”

Tristana did not deliberately hide it. She said calmly, “In order to protect you, Skarter took the responsibility for breaking the peace treaty. I heard that he will be taken away by the Cabinet tonight for surveillance and investigation.”

Skarter had a fresh wound on his back that cut almost across his entire shoulder blade, and Lin Dongliang sat behind him, carefully applying a hemostatic agent to the wound.

The king crocodile lay quietly in the corner, and the red panda Yuanbao nestled next to it, with its big tail wrapped around the crocodile’s.

Skarter suddenly twitched his nose and looked at his guide with squinted eyes, “You don’t smell right…are you trying to seduce me?”

No one was more familiar with Skarter’s pheromone fluctuations than Lin Dongliang. He did not deny it. He endured the foreshadowing of Bonding Heat and rarely took the initiative to kiss the other person. Skarter reached out and held the back of Lin Dongliang’s head. He neither pushed it away nor catered for it.

The Secretary of State looked a little frustrated, “…you don’t want to mark me?”

“Don’t be ridiculous.” Skarter rolled his eyes and pinched Lin Dongliang’s neck, “I can’t even fight, eat, dream or pee without thinking about how to fvck you until you cry.”

Lin Dongliang blushed and stammered, “Then, why…”

Skarter sighed: “But not now.” He gently pressed the guide’s forehead, “The cabinet is coming soon, and such a short time is not enough to have sex.”

Lin Dongliang pursed his lips. He naturally knew the real reason why Skarter didn’t want to mark him now. This was actually the same reason why he wanted to be marked.

Neither of them wanted to expose the other, yet they both protected each other in similar ways.

Skarter’s wounds had not been completely treated when he heard the sirens outside. Lin Dongliang looked at the intruder with a sullen face.

High-level SSS guide, Professor Quinta, the executive director of Averio Academy, was once Lin Dongliang’s mentor but ended up standing against his own students.

He ordered three level 3 guides to surround Lin Dongliang. The King Crocodile swung its giant tail violently, and a huge dimensional cage unfolded in front of it.

“This is not in accordance with the procedure, teacher.” Lin Dongliang’s face paled, and Yuanbao’s back hair was completely blown out. His mental power was under the suppression of the three guide mental nets, “His Majesty Skarter’s military rank has not been revoked. You have no right to forcibly confine his spiritual link!”

The dimensional cage was a device specially designed to confine a sentinel or guide’s spiritual link. Because it will have a severe torture effect on the spiritual link, it was generally only used on death row prisoners.

Quinta’s expression was as still as water. He looked at Lin Dongliang quietly, “The Cabinet has the right to impose spiritual link confinement on dangerous elements who undermine the peace treaty.” He waved his hand and motioned for the people around him to step forward and cuff Skarter.

Lin Dongliang clenched his fists, and the whites of his eyes were stained with a thick dark brown. The three guides who were originally surrounding him subconsciously stepped back. Quinta frowned. As soon as he raised his hand, Skarter grabbed his arm.

“Lin Dongliang.” Skarter took a few steps forward and held his guide’s face, “Calm down… I’m fine…”

Lin Dongliang was panting rapidly, his eyes almost indistinguishable from where his pupils were, and it took a long time for the dark brown whites of his eyes to slowly fade away.

Skarter kissed his lips, and Lin Dongliang watched the other’s king crocodile climb into the dimensional cage. Because of its large size, the crocodile could only coil its tail in an aggrieved manner, with its huge snout attached to the transparent partition.

Quinta handcuffed Skarter’s hands himself, and he took one last look at his former protégé.

Lin Dongliang just stared blankly at the shackles on Skarter’s wrists.

On the other side, the red panda struggled to stand upright on its plush hind legs, stretched out its paws, and hugged the dimension cage with all its strength. Its tail was hanging on the ground, and it carefully licked the crocodile’s snout through the glass.

Chapter 26 – The Mist (2)

Moschery shielded Qin Yun’s head and waited until the turbulence of takeoff had passed before bracing himself.

“Qin Yun?” He lifted up the other person’s drenched bangs. The whites of the guide’s eyes had turned pure gold, and the pupils were staring unfocused at one point.

“Chris!” Moschery shouted. He held Qin Yun in his arms and shouted again at a higher volume, “Chris!”

There was a crackling sound from the c0ckpit, and Chris ran out in a panic, shouting, “I-It’s my first time to fly a spacecraft! My driver’s license is expired…” He was startled when he saw Qin Yun and then exclaimed, “Oh my God! How much stimulant did he use?!”

Moschery remained silent with a stern expression. He watched as Chris took out the detection device and skillfully began the examination.

“How is he?” The Emperor asked nervously, “Is he okay?”

Chris gave him a strange look, “Isn’t he your guide… Shouldn’t you know the situation best?”

Moschery, of course, didn’t want to admit that he hadn’t made the final mark with Qin Yun yet, so he could only scowled and coldly said, “Shut up!”

Chris pursed his lips and complained in a low voice, “Such a bad temper… Your guide must be too doting on you.”

       Moschery: “…”

Qin Yun regained some consciousness and saw Chris tending to the needle marks on his wrist, and the young researcher felt the man under his hand struggle.

“Ah…I’m not a bad person.” Chris quickly raised his hands and added weakly, “Although I once went astray…but I have changed my ways now!”

Qin Yun relaxed and found himself leaning against Moschery. The sentinel lowered his head, grabbed his chin and kissed him without saying a word.

“Ahem…” Chris was embarrassed. He shifted his gaze and started whistling.

Qin Yun blushed, and Moschery, on the other hand, kissed quite earnestly. After a while, he moved away, furrowing his brow and asking, “Why didn’t the pheromones work?”

Chris finally had the chance to come over, “No way…” His eyes fell on Qin Yun’s neck, “What is this?!”

“…” Qin Yun reached out to cover the eye of the needle and said vaguely, “It’s nothing… I’ve been injected with a suppressant…”

Chris’ expression became serious. He didn’t speak and didn’t listen to Qin Yun’s explanation. He stubbornly carefully put the blood collected previously into the instrument and chose the option to test the ‘guide’ value.

Moschery’s expression didn’t look good, “What on earth did they inject you with?”

“…Nothing.” Qin Yun said weakly. He pretended to look around and changed the topic, “Where is Zhongyan?”

Then he saw the Emperor’s expression almost crumbling in an instant.

Moschery was silent for a long time. He stared closely into Qin Yun’s eyes and said word by word, “It’s right at your feet, can’t you see it?”

At the same time, the red light on the tester rang sharply…

Lin Dongliang, amidst the recent conflicts between the cabinet and the military, received the main war declaration from the Eta Star. His expression changed drastically upon seeing the war decree. The pretext used was ‘territorial infringement’, and the transmitted images clearly displayed Qin Yun’s unchanged military boots with the Imperial Military Department insignia. Below was the proof of Lan Zhi’s brain death and detailed information about the other party’s high-level SSS guide.

Berlin sat across from him calmly. Her eyes fell on Skarter’s face with contempt, “The general’s soldiers are indeed extraordinary. If I remember correctly, isn’t he also a low-level guide?”

Lin Dongliang took a deep breath. Unable to expose the relationship between Qin Yun and Moschery yet wanting to protect the former, he almost didn’t hesitate to take the responsibility himself, “It’s me…”

“I sent him there.” Skarter said with a smile. He took a deep look at Lin Dongliang with gentle eyes, “I suspected that there was a god-level gene on Eta Star, so I asked someone to investigate.”

Berlin raised her eyebrows, laughed, and stretched out her hands to straighten her hair, “Violating the peace treaty is a serious crime, General. Haven’t you thought about the consequences?”

Skarter did not answer. He stood up, took off the military medal on his shoulder and gently placed it on Lin Dongliang’s table. He looked sideways at Berlin and said, “I will accept Eta Star’s declaration of war… regardless of the outcome. But I’ll handle it on my terms.”

Moschery stood in the c0ckpit and watched the holographic video sent by Lin Dongliang in silence. The other person no longer had his signature gentle expression; his eyes were as cold as ice, and he had a Skarter military badge on his chest.

“The military department was seized of half of its troops by the cabinet under the pretext of investigation… Eta Star asked Olympus to increase its troops, and the number of guides and sentinels was more than three times ours.”

“Skarter has gone to the front line immediately, and I will go there later to assist the General.”

“General Tristana Lane will do his best to contain the cabinet and wait for the safe return of you and Guide Qin.”

“On the issue of military support, I have sent a request to Duke Garcia… but as of now, there has been no response.” Lin Dongliang lowered his head and reached out to cover the military medal on his chest, “Your Majesty, I have one last personal request.”

He smiled and looked at Moschery on the other side of the screen, “We will fight to the last moment. If something unfortunate happens, please bury me and General Skarter together.”

“I believe that one day, justice will break the shackles of the system.” Lin Dongliang bowed respectfully, “I look forward to the time when you regain Olympus.”

Chris carefully observed Moschery’s face from the side. After a while, he finally couldn’t help but hesitantly say, “In half an hour… he will completely lose his ability to guide… Why don’t you go and take a look?”

Moschery didn’t answer. He turned around and walked to the back cabin. Chris behind him scratched his hair and could only follow helplessly.

The temporary spaceship did not have a rest area. Qin Yun slept quietly on Moschery’s clothes, and Zhongyan positioned him in the middle. When Moschery entered, he saw that the rhinestone Toothless made by the guide was hung around the neck.

The other end of the pendant was held in Qin Yun’s hand. He could no longer see the dragon. He could only tell where Zhongyan was by relying on the small pendant.

Chris turned away, unable to bear to look any further, but Moschery’s expression did not change.

He knelt down and gently loosened Qin Yun’s fingers, and took him into his arms.

       Qin Yun woke up.

“What’s wrong?” Even though he was about to lose his guide ability, Qin Yun could still detect Moschery’s emotional problems immediately, “Did something happen to the royal family?”

Moschery held the hand that the other party extended, and he stroked the bandage on Qin Yun’s wrist, “It’s fine. Go back to sleep.”

“Can’t sleep anymore…” Qin Yun muttered, and he adjusted his position to make himself as comfortable as possible in the arms of His Majesty the Emperor.

Moschery opened the visor of the rear cabin. The spacecraft had not yet left the atmosphere of Eta Star, and the floating clouds were filled with golden morning light.

“How much longer?” Qin Yun suddenly asked, “My guide ability?”

Moschery didn’t speak. After a long time, he answered indirectly, “It’s my fault. There are no god-level genes on Eta. We fell into Olympus’s trap.”

“Oh…” Qin Yun was stunned. He didn’t expect Moschery to apologise, so he could only pretend to be relaxed and said, “Fortunately, we didn’t make the final mark… Otherwise, I wouldn’t have the confidence to hypnotise your consciousness.”

“Do you want me to forget about you?” Moschery looked down at him.

“…” Qin Yun opened his mouth.

       Moschery: “You are my guide.”

“…I will no longer be a guide.” Qin Yun said sternly, “And…there may be real god-level in the future…”

“There won’t be any more god-level.” Moschery said calmly, “From now on, I only have you.”

Qin Yun raised his arms to cover his eyes. He could clearly feel that his mental power was gradually dissipating. Moschery interlaced his finger with his, lowered his head and kissed each other tenderly.

“I… I want to perform the ritual.” Qin Yun’s eyes were red, but no tears fell. He was somewhat nervous. After taking a deep breath, he hesitated for a long time before speaking in a hoarse voice, “I would like to be your lighthouse, guiding your way, smoothing the scars of loneliness and the surges of stormy seas.”

This was the oath that the guide made when they first signed a contract with the sentinel. Qin Yun didn’t know whether Moschery understood it or not, so he looked at the other party with some anticipation and caution.

Moschery smiled; he closed his eyes piously, put his forehead against Qin Yun, and said in a low and sweet voice, “My life belongs to you, and your soul…”

The Emperor embraced his guide under the rising sun, and the golden light fell on them.

“And my soul, will be with you.”

Chapter 25 – The Mist (1)

The corridor of the laboratory was damp and dark. As Qin Yun walked, he couldn’t help but smell the remaining scent of Moschery’s pheromones on his body. None of the gatekeepers doubted his identity as a ‘sentinel’ and let him pass after looking at the name tag.

The squeaking sound of military boots on the ground was a bit loud in the quiet corridor. Qin Yun lowered the brim of his hat and slowly peered through the windows one after another. His expression was tense as he carefully expanded his mental web.

When he was almost at the end, someone stopped him.

“Why is it so slow today?” The person who came was a sentinel, grumbling under his breath and pushing Qin Yun’s back, “The innermost room. Hurry up and get it in.”

Qin Yun nodded vaguely. He stumbled a little because he was pushed. As he hastened forward, he almost collided with the door. Fortunately, the door was slightly ajar

He pushed the door open with the corner of the dinner tray, and Qin Yun discovered that it was a very large laboratory. There was an unconscious avian man tied up in the corner, the lower half of his body bruised and battered.

Several strong sentinels pressed a slender boy onto the experimental table, ignoring the other’s screams and struggles.

“Where’s the syringe?” Qin Yun heard one of them ask, “Try to see if there’s any resistance…” The other person seemed to be in a good mood and smiled, “I heard that the blood of these beasts is like an aphrodisiac for humans, is that true?”

“Don’t overdo it,” another person warned.

“We’re just having some fun. It won’t kill anyone.”

Qin Yun stood stiffly on the spot, and the dinner tray in his hand fell to the ground with a ‘bang’ sound…

Lan Zhi stopped resisting when he saw the sentinel that was holding him down suddenly fall to the ground and fall unconscious. He looked up at Qin Yun blankly and then stared at the ground in a daze, “Are they… dead??”

The whites of Qin Yun’s eyes glowed with light gold. He took off his clothes and covered the boy, “No. Just hypnotised.” After a pause, he looked at Lan Zhi, “Can you stand up? I’ll take you out of here.”

The young man seemed to have tried it and said in frustration, “No… I don’t have any strength in my legs…”

Qin Yun frowned. He bent down, and as soon as his arm wrapped around the young man’s back, a sharp pain suddenly came from his shoulder blade, and Lan Zhi’s hand somehow had an extra dagger condensed with spiritual energy.

Qin Yun shook him off violently and said angrily, “You’re a guide?!”

Lan Zhi didn’t say anything. He smiled strangely and made a strange gesture. Before Qin Yun could recover from the pain, he was clipped with both arms backwards and pressed face down hard on the experimental table.

“…” Qin Yun almost fainted from the pain and closed his eyes with a pale face.

“He’s a guide.” The sentinel pressing him sniffed lightly, “He’s been marked.”

Qin Yun remained silent. Lan Zhi grabbed his hair and forced him to look up, “Where is your sentinel?”

As expected, he didn’t get any answer. Lan Zhi didn’t mind. He stood up and directed the other standing sentinel, “Take that thing out.”

The other party seemed to hesitate for a moment and took out a tube of reagent from his pocket.

“Do you know what this is?” Lan Zhi shook the needle and stretched out his fingers to press Qin Yun’s carotid artery, “Tell me where your sentinel is?”

       Qin Yun clenched his fists.

Lan Zhi clicked his tongue and shook his head, “What a pity… You didn’t establish the final mark with him? You are obviously a low-level…” The young man’s eyes suddenly widened, and his whole body trembled uncontrollably. The sentinel was the first to notice something was wrong. He quickly hugged him, and when he turned around, he saw Qin Yun had opened his eyes at some point, and the golden colour in his eyes seemed to overflow.

“In-inject him..!” Lan Zhi screamed with his last bit of consciousness, and then he was like a puppet whose strings were suddenly cut off, and in an instant, he lost his life.

The golden colour in Qin Yun’s eyes slowly faded, and he looked like he had just been fished out of the water. His bangs were wet and stuck to his pale face.

The sentinel, who was holding Lan Zhi, had an ugly expression on his face, “Brain dead? …How did you do it?”

Qin Yun moved his lips, but he no longer had the strength to speak.

The sentinel narrowed his eyes. It took some effort for him to pull out the tightly held needle in Lan Zhi’s hand. He took a few steps forward and stared at Qin Yun condescendingly, “You are that person’s guide.” He said with a firm tone, and then he stretched out his hand and pressed Qin Yun’s neck.

When the cold needle touched his neck, Qin Yun trembled subconsciously. He lowered his head and looked at the slowly decreasing liquid in the needle from the corner of his eye.

“It’s too late,” another person exclaimed in fear, “that person is here.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a huge dragon claw overturned the entire roof of the building from the outside.

Qin Yun struggled to get up from the experimental table, his shoulder blades aching. He tried several times before pulling off the label on the reagent. When he saw the words on it clearly, Moschery had already walked up to him with a sword in hand.

Qin Yun slowly raised his head slowly and was taken into the Emperor’s arms without a word.

The raised roof filled with the morning breeze. Qin Yun stretched out his hand tremblingly to hug Moschery’s back. He loosened his clenched fist, and the label was blown away. It curled up a few times before it landed in the distance, revealing the front.

Serial Number: First Class Forbidden Substance.

Name: Brain Nerve Disruptors.

“Let’s go.” Moschery embraced Qin Yun thoroughly before carrying him up, “Let’s get out of here.” He said, calmed down and carefully checked the other party’s injuries, “What’s that in your neck?”

Qin Yun said nonchalantly, “Ah, they gave me a normal suppressant…”

“Why would they give a low-level guide a suppressant?” Moschery frowned. He stretched out his thumb and pressed the eye of the needle, “Does it hurt?”

Qin Yun opened his mouth, but he didn’t know how to answer.

Moschery observed his expression, “Is it that painful?” He lowered his head and got close to Qin Yun’s neck, “I’ll lick it for you…”

Qin Yun didn’t say anything. He held Moschery’s shoulders tightly and buried his face in the other person’s neck.

Moschery, with a somewhat smug disdain, remarked, “You are already this old yet still acting like a baby.” However, his grip on Qin Yun tightened even more.

There were already many avian folk and sentinels gathered outside the experimental building, but Moschery didn’t take them seriously. He rode on the back of the dragon and signalled Zhongyan to attack the second body of the bird people directly in the air.

“You assist Zhongyan in clearing the way, and I’ll deal with those behind.” Moschery drew out his sword, held the back of Qin Yun’s head, lowered his head and kissed his lips.

Qin Yun only kissed the Emperor for a while, then reluctantly pushed the Emperor away. He wiped his mouth awkwardly, “That’s enough…”

Moschery was not very happy, but he couldn’t let his displeasure show too much and asked the others to kiss him again, so he could only snort angrily and jump off the dragon’s back with his sword in hand.

Qin Yun breathed a sigh of relief. He took out the stimulant from his bag with shaking hands and injected himself with one without hesitation.

But his mental power was still being depleted.

Qin Yun gritted his teeth, stretched out the guiding tendrils, and used the second stimulant.

Zhongyan let out a low dragon roar, and Qin Yun controlled his guiding tendrils to split into a mesh, protecting the dragon’s chest and back like armour.

The avian-man defence circle in the sky was severely torn open by Zhongyan, and the huge black wings were like a raging storm, indestructible.

Qin Yun crushed the last stimulant syringe. His vision was blurry, and his wrists were stained with blood.

Moschery had already run to the side of the spacecraft. Chris pulled up the handle in the c0ckpit, and Zhongyan flew down quickly. Moschery opened his arms to embrace Qin Yun and rolled in the moment the hatch closed.

Chapter 24 – Eta (3)

Eta Star, covered by 70% of primitive forests, was not suitable for travel at night. Moschery put away the small aircraft and handed his flare to Qin Yun, who spread the map on his knees.

“Take this direction… we can arrive before 5 o’clock tomorrow.” Qin Yun put on his hood, “But we have to speed up.” He waited for a long time but did not hear Moschery’s answer. He looked up in confusion and was suddenly gagged.

Moschery tilted his neck slightly, with the tip of his nose touching Qin Yun’s cheek. He stretched out his tongue, brushed the corner of Qin Yun’s lips, and ordered in a low voice, “Open your mouth.”

Qin Yun: “…It’s not like we just consumed mental energy.”

“…” Moschery no longer had the energy to be angry with this idiot. He pressed the back of Qin Yun’s head hard and roughly pushed his teeth open.

When their lips parted, both of them were panting a little. Moschery patted his face gently, “Let’s go.”

“…Oh.” Qin Yun agreed quietly. When he stood up, he realised that Moschery had shouldered everything, leaving him with empty hands and a light feeling.

Moschery: “Watch your steps and try to keep up with my speed.” He tied a rope around Qin Yun’s and his own waist, “Don’t force yourself where you can’t get through.”

“Okay.” Qin Yun became a little nervous. He moved his hands and feet and turned around to see Moschery extending his fist towards him.

Qin Yun hesitated for a moment, then carefully clenched his fist and touched it with him.

       Moschery smiled, “Let’s go, comrade.”

What Qin Yun said about speeding up was obviously very different from what Moschery thought… At first, he could keep up with the Emperor, but halfway through, he was basically being pulled by the rope between the two. In the end, Moschery couldn’t stand to look at it anymore and directly pick him up.

“I’m really sorry…” Qin Yun said awkwardly, “I really did endurance training before coming here…”

Moschery said contemptuously, “You trained into the dog’s belly1training in vain?”

       Qin Yun: “…”

Moschery held him and easily jumped up the tall tree. The two of them hid behind the lush branches and leaves. After waiting for a while, they finally saw several dark shadows slowly crawling underneath.

“…What is that?” Qin Yun asked softly in shock.

Moschery didn’t answer immediately. He squinted and looked at the slowly moving black figures.

It was human-like in stature, nearly 2 meters tall. It could not stand due to its twisted hind limbs and could only crawl. One of them suddenly raised its head, and Qin Yun could clearly see a human face covered in filth.

“Hybrid defect.” Moschery said coldly. He saw the deformed wings on the black shadow’s back.

Qin Yun remained silent. He grabbed Moschery’s sleeve with so much force that even his fingernails turned pale.

Moschery sighed, stretched out his hand, and covered Qin Yun’s eyes with his palms.

“Don’t look.” The Emperor’s tone was calm and cold, “You can’t save everyone.”

Moschery wasn’t about to waste his energy before entering the fortress on Eta Star. He waited until the hybrid was completely gone before he came down from the tree with Qin Yun in his arms.

“We are about to enter the Avianman’s guard circle.” Moschery drew out his long sword and ordered Zhongyan to fly to a high place, “We will try not to alert the large army and only kill the lone ones… Are you listening?”

Qin Yun was looking at the map intently. When Moschery asked him, he realised, “Ah, yes!”

Moschery frowned, “What are you thinking about.”

Qin Yun scratched his hair in annoyance and pointed to a place in the fortress on the map, “This is marked as a laboratory, which should be the place where… hybrids are cultivated.”

Moschery looked at him calmly. Qin Yun mustered up the courage and said slowly, “I want to go there. Maybe I can do something.”

“You’ll have to go alone.” Moschery suddenly said, his finger crossing the centre of the map, “I have to get the genes of the god-level guide.”

“I know.” Qin Yun nodded, “We will operate separately, and I will protect myself.” He pretended to be relaxed and patted his backpack, “I brought a stimulant…it is still useful at critical moments.”

Moschery rarely objected. He stared firmly at Qin Yun’s face and suddenly stretched out his hand to hook his guide’s neck.

The two of them pressed their foreheads hard against each other.

“Don’t fight when you are in danger.” Moschery took off his eyepatch, revealing his golden-red dragon eyes, “Wait for me to come and get you.”

       Qin Yun smiled, “Okay.”

The surroundings of the laboratory were mainly controlled by the sentinel. After all, Eta Star was affiliated with Olympus, and the status of the avian folk was, at best, a tool to be exploited.

Qin Yun was hiding in the dark. His guiding tendrils split into webs and tried to cover every corner of the experimental building. There were more sentinels than he thought, and it was not easy to get in.

At 5 and 6 o’clock, the Eta Star was filled with thick morning mist. Qin Yun was calculating the number of sentinels who needed to be hypnotised. When he glanced at it, he saw a sentinel coming from a distance carrying a tray…

“Name, age, height, weight?” Qin Yun asked while changing clothes. He glanced at the things in the tray and found that they were all liquid food.

The sentinel stood naked, opening and closing his mouth and answered mechanically, “Number 13. 17 years old. 176 centimetres tall. 65 kilograms.”

Qin Yun clicked his tongue, “It’s over…I’m 4 centimetres taller than you.” He looked down at the missing trouser leg and had no choice but to put his military boots back on, “I hope they won’t notice… “

The hypnotised sentinel didn’t respond at all. Qin Yun was afraid that he would be frozen, so he covered him with his coat, pinned his name tag on, and picked up the tray.

“How many times are you on duty today?” Qin Yun confirmed again, “Is it the same every day?”

Sentinel: “The first time, it’s different.”

Qin Yun thought for a while and figured it out. He checked his attire one last time before walking towards the laboratory building with the dinner tray in hand.

Unlike the laboratory building, the fortress’s gene bank was a bit ridiculously large. When Moschery sneaked in, he discovered that the huge semicircular fortress on the land surface only accounted for less than one-third of the total area.

In order to facilitate storage, the temperature of the gene bank was extremely low. When Zhongyan flew in, he wanted to considerately spray a fireball on his master, but was stopped by the Emperor’s murderous eyes…

The giant dragon shrank its wings in grievance and could only play with burning its own tail…

In the gene bank, most were ordinary human scientists, moving tightly wrapped in the middle of rows of tall shelves. Moschery had to wait for someone to pass by, then quickly moved around to the front of the shelf and swiftly scanned the labels on the gene canisters.

He scanned nearly ten rows but still found nothing.

Moschery’s expression became more and more gloomy. Because of his unstable mood, Zhongyan became irritable. He could feel his dragon’s eyes changing, and the irritated nerves ached…

As the youngest and most promising genetics professor on Eta Star, Chris has always been obsessed with academic research. Still, yesterday, he accidentally peeked into the so-called ‘species evolution’ in the laboratory building, and his whole outlook was affected. The shock caused him to stay up all night and come to the gene bank before dawn.

And when he was being held in a corner by his throat, poor Chris thought that his sneaking had been exposed and he was going to be silenced…

“Where is the god-level gene?” Moschery’s golden pupils were narrowed. He tore off the opponent’s anti-freeze shield. Chris instantly felt as if he had frostbite on his face…

“What, what god-level genes?” He stammered, shaking, and his words were incoherent: “I, I know you caught me sneaking yesterday… But, I still want to say that that’s wrong… too… too cruel……”

       Moschery: “…”

The expression on Chris’ face was unyielding, “K-kill… Just kill me! I, I won’t, work for you anymore!”

Moschery looked at the work card that Chris threw on the ground coldly and did not pick it up immediately. He relaxed the shackles in his hands a little.

“You can quit if you want.” Moschery took advantage of the situation and said, “First, tell me where the god-level genes are.”

Chris was really stupid and naive and was fooled, “They say there are no god-level genes anymore… Are you a senior executive? Don’t you know that a while ago, Olympus revoked the god-level gene transfer mission and sent over a batch of clones instead?” He pointed to the work card on the ground, “If you don’t believe it, you can use my card to swipe all the gene categories here. My card has the highest authority.”

In order to prove that he was not lying, Chris actively swiped his work card Nth times to show Moschery. After it was completely confirmed that there was no god-level gene, His Majesty’s face was as ugly as it could be.

“I’m not going to do it anyway…it’s too cruel, too inhumane, and simply has no human rights.” Chris muttered, “I’ll give you the card… What’s wrong with you?!”

Moschery looked pale and clutched his chest. Chris was so frightened that he quickly went to help him, “If you can’t find it, you can’t find it. Is there any need to have a heart attack? Have you brought any medicine?!”

“No…” Moschery moved his lips with difficulty, “Qin Yun…”

“Qinyun?” Chris asked with a question mark on his face, “What kind of medicine is this? Why haven’t I heard of it?”

The author has something to say:
I won’t give a preview of the next chapter. Just one sentence: Without going through storms, how can you see a rainbow! (Dirt2author is kinda trying to spread dirt to cover the reader’s view…)

Chapter 23 – Eta (2)

When Shen Zhuofan finished handling the cat poop, he saw Lin Dongliang waiting outside the door. The Secretary of State took off his hat and saluted with a gentle smile, “Good morning.”

Shen Zhuofan sighed, “You’re becoming a regular here… How about I give you half a membership card? Regulars get a 1000-credit charge, and every visit after that is half price.”

Lin Dongliang was embarrassed by the sales promotion. Shen Zhuofan smiled evilly and sidled over to let him in.

After all, the two of them were very familiar with each other, and Shen Zhuofan could roughly guess Lin Dongliang’s reason for coming. He listened to the other party’s request but did not say anything and just made a pot of tea and put it on the table.

“Want some?” Shen Zhuofan poured out a cup and pushed it in front of Lin Dongliang, “The new tea just launched this month. It tastes pretty good.”

Lin Dongliang took a sip and nodded, “It’s indeed good.”

Shen Zhuofan smiled. He held his chin and was a little distracted, “Senior, you haven’t changed. You will clearly express whatever plan you have in mind. It’s as precise as an instrument.”

Lin Dongliang coughed awkwardly, “I always feel that by saying it out loud, there’s room for choice. The results and the risks to be borne—you can either do it or not…”

Shen Zhuofan didn’t speak. He looked through the haze outside the window, seeming to see a long time in the past.

“Senior, you and I are still different after all.” Shen Zhuofan said quietly, “I have changed a lot.”

Lin Dongliang looked at him gently.

Shen Zhuofan stretched out his hand and gently covered his chest, “I don’t have a heart as strong as yours.”

Early in the morning, Tristana got up early to deal with the troublesome lawn, and just as she had finished, the specially designated aircraft of the Secretary of State landed without any prior notice.

       Tristana: “…”

Lin Dongliang’s hair was still stained with morning dew. He greeted her with a somewhat apologetic expression, “Hello…”

Tristana’s expression was grotesque, “If it weren’t something like the news that His Majesty is about to die, I would definitely let the Crested Ibis peck the Yuanbao’s tail bald!”

       Lin Dongliang: “…”

As the only female guide general in the high ranks, Tristana, despite having a masculine character, had a somewhat flirtatious lifestyle. No one could imagine that she, who could be full of foul language and engage in verbal sparring, could start a ship and board a fort without saying more than three words. In her eyes, anyone with a pulse was fair game for her to criticise…

“Don’t just believe in the All Universe 818.” Tristana carefully took the baked apple pie out of the oven, “Considering you’re a politician,”

Lin Dongliang pretended to close the gossip page as if nothing had happened. He looked at the horrible apple pie on the baking sheet…

“I made stars, moons, birds, and cats.” Tristana introduced them one by one. She put her hands on her hips in a bossy manner, “You can take three minutes to praise me before you can eat it.”

Half of the lawn in the garden was in a mess, with the Secretary of State’s aircraft parked on it, while the other half had been planted with tulips, which bloomed in golden or red-pink colours that were subtle and graceful.

Lin Dongliang ate the sticky apple pie without complaining. He finished one piece after another, and even Tristana couldn’t stand to see it.

“Okay… I know what my capability is, so you don’t have to give me a face like this.” Tristana snapped.

Lin Dongliang said with a smile, “It’s actually delicious, really.”

       Tristana made a face, “Hypocrite…”

Lin Dongliang didn’t deny it, “I seem to have always been like this.” He finished the last bite of apple pie, “I’m used to it.”

“But you are like this…” Tristana described awkwardly, “It’s not lovable.”

Lin Dongliang raised his eyebrows, “None of the politicians is likeable, and I didn’t become a sinner just to please people.”

Tristana: “That’s right, you always have a well-thought-out plan, including the final result. It seems like you are giving the choice out, but in fact, you have already calculated even the other person’s character… Just like Shen six years ago, impulsive, proud, and daring to dedicate.”

The female general sighed, “You are very gentle.” She stretched out her hand and touched Lin Dongliang’s chest, “But this… It’s very hard here.”

Lin Dongliang was silent. After a long time, he slowly said, “The birth of a complete and centralised new regime requires the sacrifice of countless people and feelings.”

Tristana couldn’t help but ask, “So…will you sacrifice Skarter?”

The light of the morning sun softly outlined Lin Dongliang’s profile, “No.” He looked at Tristana and showed a gentle yet sad smile, “I will sacrifice myself.”

“The Secretary of State’s plan?” Qin Yun looked surprised. After they had sent Alice and Maggie back to the Star Thief’s headquarters—the Stallion Balls, they had planned to take a break and then head to Eta Star.

Moschery spent the whole day in the armoury at the bottom, and Qin Yun naturally waited on him all the time. The two somehow managed to get into a conversation about Shen and Duke Garcia’s gossip.

“Politicians are all a bunch of heartless bastards.” Moschery said indifferently. “Don’t think too highly of Lin Dongliang; it’s all just a facade.”

Qin Yun boldly joked, “You mean… you are also heartless?”

Moschery gave him a look that seemed to say, ‘Why are you acting like a little brat?’ and asked, “Am I not gentle enough with you?”

Qin Yun touched his nose awkwardly and said nothing.

Moschery threw the picked bow into the arms of his guide, “The birth of a new regime will inevitably involve sacrifices, and even I am not immune.” He looked at Qin Yun calmly, “This is why Skarter and Lin Dongliang haven’t completed the final mark after being together for so long…because they love each other so much that they are even willing to restrain the natures of sentinel and guide, just so that the other can still live safely when one has to leave.”

Qin Yun’s face looked slightly ugly, “The consequences… are really too heavy.”

Moschery curled his lips disdainfully, “If you ask me, Skarter spoils Lin Dongliang too much. You shouldn’t pamper your spouse too much; sometimes you need to be fvck them.”

       Qin Yun: “…”

Because Maggie provided a lot of information about Eta Star, she and Alice were essentially completely detached from Olympus. Chen Xiao seemed even more enthusiastic about this than the parties involved.

“Where are you going in the future?” He crossed his arms and winked at Moschery, “Do you have any plans?”

Maggie’s waist injury has basically healed. She picked a silver whip from the armoury. It looked very thin but was actually heavy. Qin Yun couldn’t shake it with both hands.

“We haven’t thought about it yet.” Alice said honestly, she was a little confused, “Is this considered treason?”

Moschery sneered, “Olympus calls itself an alliance, but the empire doesn’t recognise it, so how can it be called treason?”

Maggie didn’t speak. She clearly saw that the other person was the one with the highest status among them all, but her attitude was still neither humble nor arrogant. “Then where do you think we should go?”

Moschery glanced at her with appreciation in his eyes, “Go to the Imperial Capital. It’s more suitable for you.”

“But I heard.” Maggie smiled playfully, “The Emperor’s regime is not stable, and there are many obstacles to implementing the new democratic deal. What’s more, it is still unknown whether Olympus will return in the end.”

Qin Yun frowned, “You don’t believe in the Empire?”

“I just trust what I see more.” Maggie pointed to her eyes.

She bowed respectfully to Moschery, “Your Majesty, we will be waiting for your triumph in the Empire.”

The author has something to say:
Lin Dongliang and Skarter embodied the saying: To like is to be wild, but to love is to be restrained. XD

Chapter 22 – Eta (1)

The process of finding the spacecraft was smoother than Qin Yun imagined. Surprisingly, Alice did not go berserk again after waking up.

A pair of sentinel and guide who had undergone the final marking, even if one of them was injured, their combat capabilities were still formidable. They coordinated perfectly, and almost all of their potential was fully utilised. If it weren’t for Qin Yun’s presence earlier, there was a possibility that Maggie could have killed Chen Xiao.

“I don’t have a weapon in hand.” Maggie reloaded the bullets in the gun in her hand. Her spiritual link was a black mamba with its cold snake tongue flickerings and coiled around its owner’s waist.

“You think you are a Medusa or something…” Of course Chen Xiao refused to show weakness. He indignantly said, “Two against one is inherently unfair!”

Maggie raised her eyebrows frivolously and stopped talking. She waited patiently for Alice to finish checking the spacecraft’s main control room.

“The fuel is enough for us to fly to the coordinates you gave us.” Alice took off the hat on her head, her long golden waves dr4p3d over her shoulders like sunshine. She looked at Moschery. “We need two pilots.”

Moschery sat in the driver’s seat without saying a word. Maggie’s wound had been simply bandaged. She hesitated and finally walked towards the passenger seat.

Alice released her spiritual link, a dwarf winter white russian hamster, all snow-white, with only the tips of its ears and the tip of its nose having fine grey fluff.

The hamster quickly ran up to Black Mamba’s head, let the snake king support it, and climbed onto Maggie’s shoulders. The latter stretched out her hand and scratched the little guy’s chin.

Alice’s eyes were very gentle. She looked at Maggie intently, her guiding tendrils soothing her sentinel consciousness cloud.

The gunfire at the Shura Gate Port was intense and fierce. Moschery’s face was as dark as water under the light mirror. Maggie was not much better. Even Alice’s forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat.

Qin Yun couldn’t sit still. He tried to extend his guiding tendrils and penetrate into Moschery’s consciousness cloud. After a while, the Emperor’s expression finally seemed to relax a little.

“There are pursuers behind us.” Chen Xiao frowned and looked at the scanner, “Four heavy weapons spacecraft.”

Maggie gritted her teeth, “We only have three naval guns.”

“That’s enough.” Moschery quickly opened the main control board, pulled up the handle, and smiled mockingly, “Finish them off.”

The trajectory of the naval gun was eerily accurate in Moschery’s hands. The enemy no longer dared to advance after getting two ships hit in a row, but Moschery did not choose to retreat.

The last naval gun hit the main control room of one of the spacecraft. The remaining spacecraft was obviously panicked and fired a tracking bomb without hesitation.

Maggie finally understood Moschery’s intention at this moment.

His Majesty the Emperor piloted their spacecraft towards the enemy spacecraft carrier at an incredible speed. The moment he was about to collide with the spacecraft, he suddenly swerved over the hull of the ship and staggered violently. The tracking bomb behind him did not react in time and directly blew up the opponent’s flank.

       “Yo—” Chen Xiao whistled excitedly.

Qin Yun was half speechless as he looked at the carrier that had blossomed behind his arse.

Maggie was lying on the passenger seat and almost lost her strength while Moschery took off his goggles with a relaxed expression. He sat still in his seat and curled his fingers at Qin Yun.

“?” Qin Yun walked over and bent down.

Moschery looked into his eyes and said nothing but lazily stretched out his finger and tapped his lips.

Qin Yun held the other person’s face helplessly and muttered, “Can’t we wait until no one is around to do this…”

“Shut up.” Moschery pressed the back of his head impatiently, “You are the only one who talks too much.”

Qin Yun thought that maybe for Moschery, every kiss was really just the most ordinary supply of pheromones… so he felt a little uncomfortable.

The Emperor frowned slightly after kissing for a while, then he separated and said, “You are not paying attention…what are you thinking about?”

Qin Yun opened his mouth, his expression changing several times, and finally, he just sighed and said, “It’s nothing.”

Moschery had a look of disbelief on his face but stopped asking.

Maggie finally regained some strength under Alice’s comfort. She leaned back on the chair and held her guide in her arms.

After Chen Xiao set the coordinates, the spacecraft entered automatic navigation. He stood behind Moschery and looked across at the sentinel with a solemn expression.

“Now, you can explain it.” Chen Xiao asked, “Why do you want to leave Olympus and not want to go to Eta Star?”

Maggie and Alice looked at each other. She seemed to have made a lot of determination and then slowly said, “Eta Star has been the first fortress of Olympus for the past 50 years, and sentinel guides are stationed every three months to guard the god-level genes…”

“We all know this.” Moschery said disdainfully, “Don’t fool me with such worthless info.”

“I don’t intend to hide anything.” Maggie smiled bitterly, “What I said is only on the surface.” She looked at Moschery with an angry cold look in her eyes, “Do you know why the birth rate of guides in Olympus has been so high in recent years? The avian people on Eta Star have high mental power, yet they only have males and can’t reproduce.”

Maggie took a deep breath; her emotions fluctuated greatly, and she had no choice but to rely on Alice for comfort, “Olympus actually planned to cross-breed these beasts with human guides and sentinels, and the experiment was successful… with the birth rate of…80% are high-level guides.”

“Where’s the other 20%?” Qin Yun couldn’t help but ask.

Alice glanced at him, her expression pitiful and disgusting, “Nothing… neither an avianman nor a human, no IQ, only know brutal attacks.”

“Is Olympus crazy?” Chen Xiao murmured, “This happens every three months…doesn’t anyone notice?!”

Maggie: “Not many guides were sent, and brainwashing is so severe internally… Sentinels even cooperate with higher-ups to get stronger and more guides.” She closed her eyes and said calmly, “In Olympus, it has always been survival of the fittest, natural selection. The law is the elimination of the weak by the strong. Anything can be done in pursuit of the god-level. It’s just as normal as it gets.”

The spacecraft was flying smoothly in space, and when Qin Yun suddenly woke up, he realised that Moschery was not around.

The fluorescent panel in the main control room illuminated the Emperor’s expressionless face. When he turned his head, Qin Yun realised that he had been staring at the other person for a while.

“Why are you awake?” Moschery rubbed his eyebrows. He looked at the guide, who was only wearing a single shirt, with disapproval, “Come here, aren’t you cold?”

Qin Yun sneezed belatedly after hearing this. He rubbed his nose and let the sentinel take off his coat and put it on him.

“What are you looking at?” Qin Yun asked as he leaned closer and stretched his neck.

Moschery handed him the antique tablet in his hand, “This is from Lin Dongliang.”

Qin Yun: “Request for additional personnel?”

“Yeah.” Moschery said with a cold face, “I sent the situation in Olympus over. They are worried that you and I may not be able to handle it.”

“…” Qin Yun was embarrassed to say that he was also worried…

Moschery could clearly see what the other party was thinking. He suddenly reached out and pinched Qin Yun’s neck, “Don’t think foolishly. I can protect you.”

Lin Dongliang held his forehead in frustration when he received the third rejection notification of the additional personnel request. Skarter picked it up casually and glanced at it a few times.

“His Majesty always has his own reasons for not accepting the increase in personnel.” Skarter comforted, “After all, there is no doubt about his strength.”

Lin Dongliang sighed, “I was…just in case… Judging from this situation, the situation on Eta Star is completely different from what we originally imagined. It is always easy for things to go wrong if the plan cannot keep up with the changes.”

Skarter said nothing. In his opinion, Moschery had always been conceited, but Qin Yun’s performance along the way also proved that he was not a simple low-level guide.

“Have you found Qin Yun’s adoptive mother?” Skarter suddenly asked.

Lin Dongliang shook his head, “If the high-level SSS guide deliberately wants to stay hidden, it is not easy to find… and the cabinet may have found something recently, bypassing us and putting pressure on Tristana the removal of low-level guides from the military.”

Skarter sneered, “Those meddling women just won’t give up, huh?”

“Berlin has wanted to do this for a long time.” Lin Dongliang looked worried, “She has always advocated replacing lower echelons of the military department with high-level guides from the academy…”

“Ha, those high-end porcelain dolls of hers?” Skarter said angrily, “Can they go to the battlefield? Letting my soldiers fight on the front line while they hide behind?”

Skarter gritted his teeth and said, “Don’t even think about it.”

Lin Dongliang did not retort. He stretched out his guiding tendrils to soothe Skarter’s consciousness cloud. The red panda raised its head and crawled to sleep next to the king crocodile. Its big tail covered the crocodile’s eyes.

“I’m thinking of a way.” Lin Dongliang said gently. He paused and said firmly, “I think we need the support of Duke Garcia now.”

Skarter’s mood had calmed down, but his expression was not optimistic, “He managed to remain neutral after Shen’s accident six years ago. It is not so easy for him to switch sides now.”

“If…” Lin Dongliang thought, “If Shen comes back, maybe the situation will be different?”

Chapter 21 – White Colt (3)

Chen Xiao’s Jifeng hovered low in the sky above. It was obviously very curious about Qin Yun. It tilted its head and looked at the only guide. Occasionally, it flew down and swept the other person’s hair with its wings.

Zhongyan was a little unhappy when he saw it. His desire to monopolise Qin Yun was getting deeper and deeper, especially since Qin Yun had now become his professional rhinestone paster…

Chen Xiao couldn’t see Zhongyan, but he always felt that the way Jifeng was flying was a bit strange. Of course, Qin Yun couldn’t say that His Majesty’s dragon was fluttering around his eagle like it was chasing a butterfly, so he could only keep looking at Moschery.

The latter only lightly swept a glance and just ignored it.

The three of them had all been on the front line, so they were no strangers to sneak attacks. Chen Xiao hid in a high place and slowly drew the machete from behind.

“Me four, and you three?” He gestured to Moschery, and His Majesty the Emperor responded directly with a ‘swap’ gesture.

Chen Xiao curled his lips and gestured ‘OK’ in a compromising manner.

Qin Yun was very nervous. It was the first time for him to cooperate with two high-level sentinels alone, not to mention that one of them was a god-level.

Chen Xiao moved very quickly. Before the nearest sentinel had time to react, he covered his mouth and slit his throat. Moschery followed closely behind, drew out his long sword and slashed the head decisively.

Chen Xiao pouted and said frantically, “…You’re really not ordinary in terms of brutality. The splattering brain matter is quite disgusting, you know!”

Moschery quickly pulled out the sword and said coldly, “It’s a better way to die.”

Chen Xiao felt helpless. Half of his face was sprayed with blood. He wiped it away while preparing to kill the next target. Moschery moved faster than him and had already killed the second target.

Qin Yun maintained a vigilant kneeling position on the spot. He watched the two people’s movements closely and did not dare to let his guard down at all.

Chen Xiao’s scimitar juggled in his hand, and it collided with a more petite sentinel. As he swung his blade, the opponent deftly dodged the attack.

“Huh…” Chen Xiao only realised something was wrong when he felt his hands and feet were numb. He saw the other party raised the silenced gun and pointed it at his head. When the other party was about to pull the trigger, the person was shot in the shoulder by a golden ‘arrow’.

The sentinel huddled on the ground in pain, and the hat on the head fell off. Only then did Chen Xiao realise that the other person was a woman. The ‘arrow’ was equivalent to Qin Yun’s mental power. As long as he wanted to, it could stay in the other person’s body and not disappear.

“Withdraw your consciousness attack!” Qin Yun sternly said in one direction, “If you don’t want your sentinel to have a mental breakdown!”

After a few seconds, Chen Xiao’s paralysis in his hands and feet gradually disappeared. He rubbed his wrists and picked up his scimitar from the ground when he was slammed on his waist by someone who rushed out of nowhere.

“Alice!” The sentinel, lying on the ground, cried out in pain.

Chen Xiao grabbed the person’s hand and lifted it up, revealing a doll face with a stubborn expression underneath.

“…” Qin Yun was stunned, “She is still underage?!”

Chen Xiao twitched his nose with a strange expression, “Already been marked…” He looked at the female sentinel lying on the ground, “Your guide?”

The other party’s black hair was as long as a waterfall, and delicate features with a hint of arrogance. Qin Yun saw the blood seeping from her waist and realised that the sentinel had been seriously injured earlier.

Alice suddenly struggled violently, and Chen Xiao unexpectedly failed to hold her back.

“Maggie!” Alice’s mental power wrapped around Qin Yun’s ‘arrow’. She gritted her teeth and said, “Pull it out!”

Qin Yun didn’t move; Alice’s level was significantly higher than his, and the pressure from her consciousness cloud was quite uncomfortable. He diverted a bit of attention to look at Chen Xiao, only to discover that he wasn’t faring much better either.

Whether it was a guide or a sentinel, as long as they had marked each other, incredible potential would be unleashed when the other was in danger. The deeper the mark, the stronger the combat power. Qin Yun had encountered similar situations during training sessions with Moschery before.

His consciousness went berserk… Qin Yun’s brain clearly noticed this. The sweat on his forehead rolled down to his chin, and the whites of his eyes were stained with a thick golden colour.

The guiding tendrils that controlled Chen Xiao were being disintegrated bit by bit by Qin Yun’s mental power. Maggie tried to stand up but was restrained by Qin Yun’s ‘arrow’ on her shoulder, unable to move at all.

Alice’s face was pale, and there was a blood-red haze in her eyes. Chen Xiao, who had regained his mobility, knocked her unconscious with the handle of his knife without hesitation.

“What a scary person…” Chen Xiao showed a frightened expression. He was about to pick up Alice, but Maggie suddenly yanked his collar.

“Let her go.” Qin Yun had removed the ‘arrow’ on her shoulder, and she was gritting her teeth and covering the wound while holding on to her feet.

“Don’t think that I won’t kill you because you are a woman.” Chen Xiao frowned, “If I were you, I would just be a prisoner and don’t ask for anything.”

Maggie did not let go. Her expression was calm and without any fear, “I know how to find the spaceship out of here. I will go with you, but only if you return her to me.”

Qin Yun and Chen Xiao looked at each other, and Qin Yun couldn’t help but ask, “What is the level of mark between you and her…”

“The final mark.” Maggie glanced at him, “Alice is my woman.”

Qin Yun: “…” It was really a complicated feeling to hear a woman say that this woman was her woman…

Chen Xiao narrowed his eyes, “I remember there is a rule in Olympus that sentinels and guides on the battlefield are not allowed to make final marks so as not to cause one party to die in battle and the other to follow suit.”

“So what.” Maggie sneered. She looked at Chen Xiao with a contemptuous expression, “She and I are 100% matched. Of course I can do it if I want to.”

       Chen Xiao: “…”

Qin Yun especially sympathised with him, “If only you had the same boldness with General Lane…”

After Moschery dealt with his side, he turned around and found that Qin Yun was missing. The Emperor’s face became very ugly, making Zhongyan not dare to play with his rhinestone bones in broad daylight.

Fortunately, his guide didn’t go far.

“You’re back?” Qin Yun looked at Moschery with excitement, then realised the context seemed off. He quickly corrected himself, “Ah, no… I’m the one who’s back.”

Moschery snorted, looked behind him, and motioned Chen Xiao to explain with his eyes.

“The captured prisoners have done the final mark. If the sentinel dies, the guide will not survive.” Chen Xiao was a little impressed to see Maggie was still able to carry Alice with such serious injuries, “They know where the aircraft to flee is…”

Moschery said coldly, “Olympus will not allow marked partners to go to the battlefield.” His eyes fell on Maggie’s waist, “What’s wrong with your wound?”

Maggie obviously didn’t expect that the other party would ask such a direct question. She looked at Moschery calmly and compromised, “I will explain, but you have to take us with you.”

Moschery sneered, “You’re in no position to negotiate. Get your identity straight, sentinel; we’re not Olympus; we don’t need disobedient captives.”

Maggie’s figure trembled, and for the first time, she revealed a slightly frightened and vulnerable expression. In a hoarse voice, she said, “We don’t want to go to Eta Star… please.” She lowered her posture with difficulty and said, “Take us away.”

The author has something to say:
A new storyline will be opened soon XD

Notes:
So I think from the white colt arc the story differs from the manhua, where there are bits here and there that’s not there in the manhua or the fact that Chris (the rescued researcher is not actually an old man)
I’m actually quite confused because I keep trying to match the manhua back and forth and later I’m just whatevs and translate it as I usually do. Since I already finished translating all the 2nd arc (red bean),  I will be able to give a consistent update of 2-3x/week update for now~

Chapter 20 – White Colt (2)

The battle situation of the ‘Shura Gate’ looked like a mess from afar. Qin Yun landed unsteadily in his aircraft near the port. When he was about to come out, Chen Xiao pressed his head and suppressed him.

“I’ll go out first.” Chen Xiao will pull out a scimitar from his waist, “Wait until you’re sure there’s no threat to you before you come out.”

“…” Qin Yun grumbled as he ruffled at his messed up hair, “I never planned to bring you here… Why did you come with me?”

Chen Xiao’s voice sounded a bit far away, “What if you come here recklessly and something happens? I have 10 heads, and it won’t be enough even if Moschery chop them all off.” He said, walked back a few steps and patted the door of the aircraft, “Come out.”

Qin Yun carried not only a bow but also a large bag on his back. He climbed out of the cabin door awkwardly and saw Jifeng hovering in the sky not far away.

“What did it find?” Qin Yun looked up with squinted eyes.

Chen Xiao frowned and answered after a while, “It seems to be a guide?”

The high-level SS guide was lying on the ground and was already burned out and dazed. Qin Yun looked around and did not see Moschery. He had no choice but to help him carry the one in bonding heat over first.

“He’s forcing people to go into heat again.” Chen Xiao sighed, “He is worthy of being a god-level. The pheromones of someone who had been mentally marked can easily make other single guides go into heat… Isn’t it very hard for you to be with him?”

After Chen Xiao said this, Qin Yun realised that he looked like the first wife who was wiping her husband’s butt and cleaning up the mess…

“It must be very uncomfortable to be forced to go into bonding heat every day, right?” Chen Xiao sympathised, “Is it that you have too much stamina or is Moschery not up to the task, considering you haven’t been done to the point of being unable to get out of bed?”

Qin Yun didn’t react for a moment. He found that the other party’s brain circuit was not in the same dimension as his, so he could only half-open his mouth in confusion, “Huh?”

“Huh what?” Chen Xiao asked strangely, “Aren’t you his guide? Are you not in bonding heat after being with such a walking aphrodisiac all day long?”

“…” Qin Yun then realised that he never seemed to have any signs of bonding heat. “Under what circumstances… would the guide not respond to sentinel’s pheromones?”

Chen Xiao explained, “Their difference is significant. For example, if a sentinel’s level is lower than the guide, even if the sentinel releases pheromones, the guide won’t respond. Conversely, if the sentinel’s level is too high, any guide below that level will be forced into triggering bonding heat. That’s why, from the moment of awakening, we have to learn how to conceal our own pheromones. Of course, because the number of guides is much lower than sentinels, it’s not ruled out that high-level sentinels might seek guides based on their rank. The condition is that the guide can withstand the overpowering consciousness of the high-level sentinel.”

As he spoke, he glanced at Qin Yun, “Are you a high-level SSS? How come I never see you releasing spiritual links?”

Qin Yun thought about it and felt really embarrassed to say that he did not have a spiritual link…

Fortunately, Chen Xiao did not ask further, “Moschery’s pheromones are too strong to hide it all, so he has been nicknamed the walking aphrodisiac for a long time. He is also a god-level one, and there is no matching guide that can withstand him. You can catch his consciousness cloud, so he changes from a walking aphrodisiac to a walking poison.”

       Qin Yun: “…”

“Ah, but now he has you.” Chen Xiao patted Qin Yun on the shoulder, “The guide and sentinel, which are 100% matched, can’t control bonding heat at all unless the guide has extraordinary abilities to resist the seduction of the sentinel’s pheromones. However, Moschery is already at a god-level…”

       Qin Yun: “That…”

Chen Xiao: “We are all men, so there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Moschery should be very capable in that area. You have to be careful and don’t work so hard.”

Qin Yun had tears streaming down his face, thinking that it was related to His Majesty’s sexual ability and also related to the innocence of his chrysanthemums. This was simply the most difficult problem with multiple answers in the world…

Moschery poured the last barrel of gasoline on the shelf in the storage cabin. He threw the can and walked to the main control room alone.

The body of the sentinel he killed earlier was still there. Moschery pushed it away with his feet and then quickly started the self-destruct program on the pilot.

There was a lot of commotion outside. Moschery estimated the number of people and did not intend to fight. He pried open the escape door at the bottom of the main control room and jumped down.

The first thing Qin Yun saw was Zhongyan. The huge black dragon soared into the sky, its wings almost blocking the sky. It hurriedly found high ground to get down, and in no time, he saw Moschery’s rapidly running figure.

“Xi Zhao!” Qin Yun shouted, waving his hands, “This way! Come here!”

Moschery looked up in a hurry. He didn’t show any surprise on his face. He just frowned and jumped up to where Qin Yun was hiding.

Only then did Qin Yun realise there was a person chasing him.

“Let’s go!” Moschery picked him up and ran.

Before Qin Yun could stand up, he was grabbed by the shoulder by the spiritual link of a vulture of the opponent’s sentinel.

“Jii—!” Zhongyan roared and swooped down, opened his mouth and bit the vulture’s throat fiercely. Qin Yun only heard a loud explosion behind him, and he was pinned to the ground by Moschery.

The hot wind, enveloped in swirling gravel, came sweeping down from all directions, and if Moschery hadn’t pressed down with all his strength, Qin Yun felt that he would be lifted up.

He didn’t know how long it had been since the explosion before he was dug out of the sand. The huge ringing in his ears made his head spin and hurt. Moschery patted his face, and all Qin Yun saw was him opening and closing his mouth.

“What—?!” Qin Yun pointed to his ear, “It’s too noisy! I can’t hear you!”

“You give me…” Moschery’s voice drifted faintly into his ear. “Go back!”

Qin Yun shook his head desperately, “No! I can’t hear you!”

Moschery’s face turned extremely dark, and he shouted, “Zhongyan!” as if he wanted the dragon to carry Qin Yun back.

Zhongyan flapping his wings obediently and trotted over. Qin Yun shouted, “Stop!” and then quickly took out the big bag on his back.

A super-shining rhinestone bone appeared in Qin Yun’s hand. He tossed it up and down a few times and then threw it far away with great force. Zhongyan’s eyes widened and he subconsciously stretched his neck, and Qin Yun shouted, ” Pick it up for me!”

The giant dragon snorted and flapped its wings happily, and ran out…

       Moschery: “…”

When Chen Xiao arrived, he saw Qin Yun arguing with Moschery and throwing rhinestone bones. The conversation between the two was so childish that even he, an outsider, could hardly stand to listen…

Moschery roared angrily, “Don’t throw it away! Do you think it’s a dog?!”

Zhongyan held the bone in his mouth. He lay on the ground and swung his tail, throwing the bone into Qin Yun’s hand. Its huge dragon’s muzzle arching over his leg, Qin Yun stroked its head and said firmly, “Then you’re not allowed to drive me away.”

Moschery gritted his teeth, “You want to die that much?!”

Qin Yun also became angry when he heard this, “Isn’t it just being buried together then?! Who’s afraid of who!”

“You’ve learnt to talk back now, huh?!” Moschery was so angry, “Do you want to be spanked so badly?!”

Of course Qin Yun couldn’t say, ‘Come on, come and spank me’. He made it clear that he wouldn’t go back even if he beat him to death. In reality, Moschery couldn’t do anything about him.

The sentinel that was chasing them earlier had already been swept away by the explosive air currents. However, it wasn’t an easy task for them to escape unscathed. Qin Yun’s makeshift aircraft could only accommodate two people at most. Chen Xiao suggested that they needed to find a larger spacecraft for everyone to retreat safely.

“How many sentinels and guides are left?” Chen Xiao asked without looking up while drawing a map.

Moschery calculated silently, “I just killed about 200 of them…the ones left are at least four times as many, not counting guides.”

“I can deal with the guide.” Qin Yun raised his hand, “Chen Xiao can go to find the aircraft?”

Moschery disagreed, “I can’t protect you with so many sentinels by myself. Chen Xiao has to follow us.”

“Actually, we don’t need to annihilate everyone.” Chen Xiao marked the location of the port on the map, “We just need to dodge a few important points… Getting out of here first is the priority.”

Moschery was silent for a while and suddenly asked, “Do you know where these sentinels and guides are going?”

       Chen Xiao: “?”

“They are going to Eta Star.” Moschery looked at Qin Yun, “There are clones of Qin Yun’s genes on that ship, and they are also going to be sent to Eta Star.”

Chen Xiao’s expression changed greatly, and he said to himself, “I heard the news from Olympus’ side that there is a god-level guide’s gene on Eta Star…”

Moschery interrupted him calmly, “Whether this is true or not, I have to rush to Eta Star to confirm the authenticity of the god-level gene before the support here arrives.”

“What about Qin Yun’s clone?” Chen Xiao asked anxiously.

“It has been destroyed.” Qin Yun trembled a little when he thought of Moschery’s cruel methods. Although those were just a clone and did not resemble him in many parts, he still felt a little pain when he saw the other person being stabbed through the head. He added, “There should be no possibility of repairing a head that is directly chopped off.”

“Good job!” Chen Xiao slapped his thigh, “If you want to destroy a guide without a brain nerve destroying agent, the best way is to destroy the brain through external force directly.”

Moschery: “But we cannot rule out that they could use the god-level guide’s genetic repair.”

Chen Xiao was stunned for a moment. He was a bit dumbfounded, “True… I’m not sure if there are god-level on Eta Star…”

“So.” Moschery smiled coldly, “I burned all the clones and blew up the ship by the way. Not to mention the corpses; they probably couldn’t even find the ashes in the end.”

Chapter 19 – White Colt (1)

Moschery turned his back to Qin Yun without saying a word. He could feel the sentinel’s anger and out-of-control emotions without getting close to him. The Emperor’s sword was cold and sharp, and Qin Yun watched as he swiftly exploded the heads of each clone.

“That…maybe it’s an illusion.” Qin Yun tried to appease Moschery’s consciousness, “Many oriental faces with closed eyes have similarities…”

Moschery wiped the blood splattered on his face. He remained silent and seemed to be looking at the facial features of the clone under his feet. Then he picked up the hilt of the sword and stabbed it hard into the opponent’s eye socket.

       Qin Yun: “…”

Moschery kicked the capsule on the ground and said, “Look again to see if there are any more. Don’t let any go. Destroy them all.”

“Most of them just have similar eyes…” Qin Yun struggled to find some justification, “Looks are not that important…”

“And?” Moschery stared at him with his only normal black eyes, “So, are you suggesting that in the future, on the battlefield, I might encounter a clone that looks like you, assisting other sentinels?”

Qin Yun frowned, not knowing how to answer.

Moschery sneered, “Don’t be ridiculous. You are one of a kind and belong only to me. Just because Olympus dares to copy you as a clone, I feel like killing everyone on this ship.”

He approached Qin Yun step by step, suddenly stretched out his hand, and pressed his bloody palm hard on Qin Yun’s neck, their foreheads trying to touch each other tightly. Moschery took off the black eye mask, revealing the golden-red ‘dragon’s eyes’ that reflected a complicated expression on Qin Yun’s face.

“I don’t even know when they took your genes!” Moschery’s palms were cold and trembling slightly, “Your spiritual power is the only one Zhongyan did not find repulsive. Only you can get close to me, and yet I don’t even know my own guide genes have been cloned…”

“Calm down, Xi Zhao.” Qin Yun grabbed Moschery’s hand, his guiding tendrils gently wrapped Moschery’s consciousness cloud, and the other arm hugged him tightly, “Calm down… They just look a bit alike. That’s it. Maybe it’s not my genetic clone at all; I am who I am, and no one can copy it.”

Moschery stood stiffly, his chest heaving violently, but he did not refuse Qin Yun’s mental guiding. He closed his eyes and wiped Qin Yun’s neck with the back of his hand, “It’s stained with blood.”

“It’s okay.” Qin Yun hugged him tightly, “It’s okay.”

He felt the shock, anger and fear in Moschery’s consciousness, tearing at his brain nerves like a violent storm. Qin Yun felt that Moschery’s eyes aching and swollen, and it was almost as if he was forcing himself to keep from shedding tears.

The two hugged each other quietly for a long time until they heard Ali’s call and separated.

“Let’s go.” Moschery strapped the sword back to his back. In the end, he was still worried, and he simply found a bottle of dissolving solution and poured it all over the bottom shelf.

Ali was waiting for them at the filter, looking a little anxious, “Why did you take so long? Yaya has already gone out. The twins are waiting for us at the entrance. The situation outside doesn’t seem to be right. We may have to break out later.”

Qin Yun was tying Moschery’s eyepatch. Hearing this, he paused, and Moschery pulled out the long sword from his back. He waited until Qin Yun finished the work before pulling him to his side.

“Let Chen Xiao launch the ship and prepare to leave the port.” After Moschery finished speaking, he held Qin Yun’s chin and kissed his lips. Ali coughed awkwardly and turned away. Before Qin Yun could blush, he felt the other person’s abundant pheromones instantly replenish the mental energy he had just consumed.

Moschery did not close his eyes; his gaze was gentle. He stared into his guide’s eyes for a moment, “I will take you out.” He kissed the corner of Qin Yun’s mouth one last time, “Go back to the Stallion Balls and wait for me.”

The twins were hiding in the narrow gap at the entrance, looking a little embarrassed. The younger brother was slightly injured, and the older brother’s pug was carefully licking wounds.

“We’ve taken out a wave.” The older brother’s face was a bit tired, and Qin Yun had just realised that he had condensed his mental power into two daggers. “This is not an ordinary merchant ship. Our intelligence is wrong… The enemy’s sentinel count may be in the thousands, not to mention the number of guides.”

The Tibetan Mastiff pawed irritably on the ground. The pug stepped forward and licked its face a few times before it gradually calmed down. The younger brother temporarily bandaged the wound, “They should have blocked all the departure ports of Shura Gates. The boss’s side gives us news that they can still hold out for a while but can only give us 10 minutes’ time.”

“Ten minutes is enough.” Moschery pushed Qin Yun into the middle of the three of them, “Protect him.”

Of course Qin Yun didn’t want to be protected, but with three people desperately surrounding him, there was no place for him to move. Seeing the older brother’s two daggers slip into the sky, Qin Yun didn’t even have a chance to find a bow.

“Who is he?” Ali was obviously impressed by Moschery’s incredible fighting prowess. The ferocious man stared dumbfoundedly at His Majesty’s sword, and he killed several sentinels in front of him with just a few leaps.

Qin Yun complained in his heart that he would scare him to death if he told him who Moschery was, and his eyes followed Moschery’s figure nervously. Several people followed him and fought their way out, returning to the Stallion Balls in a state of mess.

Qin Yun was the second to last one to board the aircraft carrier, and when he was about to bend down and pull Moschery, the other party withdrew his hand.

“You go with them first.” Moschery held up the hatch and trapped Qin Yun in his arms. He looked down at his guide’s panicked face, “I’m going back to blow up the Olympus ship.”

“I’m going with you.” Qin Yun said as he was about to jump off the Stallion Balls, but before he could move, he was blocked by Zhongyan, who suddenly appeared.

“…Xi Zhao?!” Qin Yun was shocked and angry. For the first time, he turned coldly towards Zhongyan, “Get out of the way!”

The black dragon’s expression was a little uneasy, but it still firmly opened its wings to block the hatch, and the dragon’s muzzle carefully rubbed Qin Yun’s cheek.

Qin Yun heard Chen Xiao’s order to leave the port. The black dragon flapped its giant wings and flew up with the aircraft. It slowly stopped when it reached a certain height. Qin Yun held the hatch and looked down. Although he could not find anything, he could see the shadow of Moschery. The owner’s mood could directly affect the state of the spiritual link, and he saw Zhongyan look at him reluctantly, turn around three times and let out a long dragon roar before he swept away with his dragon tail without looking back.

Qin Yun’s fist hit the cabin door hard. His eyes were red; he wiped his face angrily and stood up.

Chen Xiao wandered around the Stallion Balls for half a circle without finding Qin Yun. He was not afraid of him getting lost, but he was still worried that His Majesty the Emperor’s person was not with him.

“Where have you gone?” Chen Xiao frowned. When he turned around, he saw Ali running towards him in a panic.

“Qin, Guide Qin!” Ali gasped, “He flew the No. 8 aircraft and asked us to open the side door!”

Qin Yun checked the flight path of the narrow aircraft and checked all the weapons that came with the aircraft. He had a bow on his shoulder and sat in an awkward posture.

After the third request to open the wing hatch, the main control room asked to connect to visual communication. Qin Yun thought for a while and pressed ‘agree’.

Chen Xiao’s whole face was almost plastered against the screen, “Are you crazy?! What do you want to go back for?! Your Majesty… Moschery can handle it all by himself and come back safely. Do you understand that you could only drag him down if you go there?!!!”

“I will not hold him back.” Qin Yun said calmly, “I am his guide, and I have the right to stay by his side.”

Chen Xiao was going crazy, “Can’t you just wait for him to come back?!”

Qin Yun was silent, and after a long while, he asked word by word, “How do you want me to feel when he comes back?”

Chen Xiao was stunned, “What…what feelings…”

“My sentinel is fighting on the front line. I can’t see, hear, or even feel him.” Qin Yun paused. He looked at Chen Xiao’s face on the screen seriously, “I don’t want to wait for him to come back in such a mood, do you understand?”

Moschery stepped on a small aircraft, and he pinched the neck of a guide without mercy. The eyepatch had long ago fallen off somewhere during the battle, and his golden pupils were like sharp needles, staring at the opponent eerily.

“I’ll ask again.” Moschery’s tone was cold, “Where did you get the cloned genes? How many are left? Where are they?”

The guide was choked and could hardly breathe. He was horrified to find that his guiding tendrils were completely useless, and even close-range mental attacks had no effect at all.

“While waves of shameful warmth surged through his body, a fierce, uncontrollable desire roared to life…”

Bonding heat…?! He was actually seduced by the pheromones on the other person’s body and forced into heat?!

“I–I don’t know… It’s so, so uncomfortable…” The guide’s eyes were distracted, and he shook his head randomly, “We are only responsible for transporting goods to Eta Star… and along the way, we will replace the previous batch of garrisoned troops… About cloning genes… I really don’t know…”

Moschery squinted his eyes to assess the credibility of this sentence. He let go of his hand with some disgust and let the guide, who had already fallen into bonding heat, slide to the ground.

“Help me… I, I’m high-level SS guide…” The guide reached out and grabbed Moschery’s trouser leg and said, “Please, please… mark me…”

Moschery shook his feet, lifted the opponent’s chin with the toe of his shoe, and smiled sarcastically, “So what if you are a high-level SS? You can’t even compare to a hair of my guide… Mark you? How could you want me to mark you?”

The author has something to say:
After the cloning, the details will be explained gradually. Qin Yun didn’t have a cheat power-up; continuous growth and getting stronger is what he had to do at this stage. Moreover, I’m quite worried that once he powers up, this story of mine will come to an end… (sigh)

Chapter 18 – The Star Thief (3)

There were a total of thirteen routes from the Empire to Eta Star. The largest transfer station was called ‘Shura Gate’, which could accommodate nearly a thousand merchant ships a day. The Stallion Balls flag was replaced with a ‘Star Thief’ flag as they approached the port.

Qin Yun watched Ali hang the five-pointed star flag on the bow of the ship while a little guy cut out disposable tattoo stickers next to him.

“Do you always maintain such a high profile before starting work?” Qin Yun stretched out his arm in confusion. Moschery skillfully rolled up his sleeves to his shoulders and put a five-pointed star tattoo on his elbow.

“Even if we don’t raise the flag, they still know we’re space pirates. It’s better to show it openly; when people are uneasy, it’s easier to act.” Ali touched the little guy’s head, “His name is Yaya.”

Qin Yun lowered his head and saw a cheetah lying quietly at Yaya’s feet, “A speedy sentinel?”

Ali smiled: “No one here can catch up with Yaya.”

The sentinel glanced at Ali expressionlessly and made a shut-up gesture.

“Don’t be embarrassed, bro.” Ali patted Yaya’s shoulder, “He can’t speak, so you’d better learn some simple sign language… In fact, we have always wanted to find a guide for him so that communication will be much easier.”

Sentinel and guide could communicate through consciousness, which was equivalent to an extra translator for Yaya’s case.

“On the ship, except for Yaya and the boss, the others were all partners who have made the final mark.” Ali pointed to himself, “And then there are the ones like us.”

The majority of the star thieves were not sentinel and guide, but ordinary people like Ali. They got along with each other like brothers, and there was no difference between them.

“Things used to be like this for me in the front line.” Qin Yun suddenly said, “Although I have insufficient abilities and am just a low-level guide, there are no sentinels in General Skarter’s army who will look down on me because of this. Of course, there are many others like me. Perhaps people like us can’t get into guide academy and be elected to the cabinet, but we can still prove our worth in other ways.”

He looked at Moschery and smiled, “We fight side by side with Sentinel. We are comrades-in-arms and brothers.”

Moschery didn’t answer. He seemed to be addicted to drawing tattoos. He reached out a hand and roughly ruffled Qin Yun’s bangs without raising his head.

“I heard that the political stance of the royal family and the Cabinet are different. The cabinet advocates god-level rule, strengthening the high-level and eliminating the inferior.” Ali was silent for a while and said with a wry smile, “In the Imperial Capital, ordinary people or low-level guide and sentinel are not taken seriously.”

“That’s the position of the cabinet, not the royal family.” Moschery handed the tattoo paper in his hand to Qin Yun and motioned for the other party to apply it to him, “Strengthening the high-level and eliminating the inferior will only make the regime more divided, which is simply stupid. “

Ali and Yaya looked at each other. The sentinel quickly made a series of gestures, and Ali quickly translated, “But the Emperor is too young and has only been in power for a short time. How can he compete with the Cabinet?”

“I am—The Emperor is not the only one resisting.” Moschery raised his head and glanced at the other party, then said calmly, “In order to centralise power, countless people will eventually take this road.”

The target, Olympus’ merchant ship, arrived at the harbour by noon on the next day. Before even having dinner, Qin Yun began preparing the things he needed for the operation. Moschery frowned as he watched him emptying the bag and said disapprovingly, “You don’t need to go. Just wait for me here with Chen Xiao.”

“It’s just stealing a map of the fortress. It’s not like there’s any danger.” Qin Yun sorted out the toolbox and medical kit, “Besides, the guide in Olympus must have a lot of good stuff. I might be able to bring some out.”

“Just tell me what you want.” Moschery rubbed his eyebrows anxiously, “I’ll buy it for you.”

Qin Yun stared at him for a while, then suddenly patted his knee, “I haven’t given you a guiding for a few days… Do you have a headache? Come here, and let me rub it for you.”

Moschery was stunned for a moment, and then he muttered, “Don’t think that just coaxing will make it okay.” Yet he still walked over obediently.

Qin Yun’s guiding tendrils gently penetrated Moschery’s consciousness and slowly soothed and combed it until the other party suddenly hooked his neck.

“?” Qin Yun looked down at Moschery’s face.

The latter pressed the back of his head impatiently, “Kiss.”

Qin Yun, “…Can’t you be more subtle?”

“So many demands. How can I be more subtle?” Moschery had a displeased expression, “Mwah?”

“…” Qin Yun, “It’s better to just directly kiss.”

The time to infiltrate the opponent’s aircraft was set at midnight. In addition to Qin Yun and Moschery, they were also accompanied by Ali and Yaya. When the actual action was taken, it was discovered that there were two more people.

“The younger brother is sentinel, and the elder brother is guide.” Ali introduced the newly arrived twins.

Qin Yun looked at the two brothers, who looked almost exactly the same. One had a Tibetan mastiff lying next to him, and the other had a pug squatting on his shoulder.

Although Ali couldn’t see the spiritual link, he could still tell the two brothers apart, which Qin Yun found amazing.

“You will know after you know them for a long time.” Ali explained patiently, “There is still a big difference between the two.”

Qin Yun didn’t believe it at first, but soon after entering the enemy camp, he understood the big difference within a short time…

Older Brother: “Have we ever been to this place?”

       Younger Brother: “We’ve passed by.”

Older Brother: “How did you know?”

Younger Brother: “Xiao Zang just peed.”

       Everyone: “…”

Elder Brother: “Have you never been to this place?”

       Younger Brother: “No.”

Elder Brother: “Then let Xiao Zang pee.”

Younger Brother: “I’m out of urine, let big brother’s urinate.”

       Everyone: “…”

Elder Brother: “Go and smell whose urine this is.”

       Younger Brother: “Xiao Zang’s.”

Elder Brother: “Oh, then go to the left.”

       Everyone: “…”

Ali said matter-of-factly, “Since the two have been asking and answering questions one after the other, you can tell who’s who once you figure out the order.”

With two dogs leading the group, the group would not get lost. The two brothers kept going back and forth like machine guns throughout the whole process. Qin Yun couldn’t bear the noise.

“How can we make them stop…” Qin Yun said with a headache, “There’s no end to the constant question and answer!”

Elder Brother: “Actually, it can be stopped. He just needs to shut up.”

Younger Brother: “Shut up first and then I’ll shut up.”

Elder Brother: “I have shut up.”

Younger Brother: “I shut up too.”

Elder Brother: “…you are obviously talking.”

Younger Brother: “Didn’t you shut up…”

Elder Brother took a deep breath: “Okay, let’s do it together.”

       Younger Brother: “1, 2, 3!”

The two brothers said in unison: “Shut up!”

       Qin Yun: “…”

Because they were sneaking in through the air vent at the bottom of the ship, several people had to kneel forward most of the way. The two twins led the way quietly at the front. Qin Yun was protected by Yaya and Moschery in the middle, and Ali followed behind.

After about an hour of climbing, the younger brother’s Tibetan Mastiff suddenly stopped and kept picking up a piece of filter screen with its paws.

Yaya turned around and gestured quickly to Qin Yun.

“The storage room… is at the bottom.” Qin Yun understood several keywords, “No..one… No one’s there?”

Yaya nodded, made a gesture for sentinel, and pointed at Moschery.

“Qin Yun and I will go down.” Moschery ordered, “Twins, pay attention and listen to the movements. Yaya, move quickly. We will throw the map up first, and you will take it out immediately. Ali, you stay here. I will ask Qin Yun to come up first, and you gotta pull him.”

“It’s not like I can’t get up on my own…” Qin Yun argued in a low voice.

Moschery pretended not to hear. With a gentle push of his elbow, the filter was loosened. He grabbed the edge of the ceiling and landed lightly on the ground. He stretched out his hand towards Qin Yun, “Come down.”

Qin Yun subconsciously threw the bag he was carrying to the other party, followed closely before jumping down.

Moschery maintained the hugging posture and stood stiffly, “…”

       Qin Yun blinked, “What’s wrong?”

Moschery sullenly threw the bag back to him angrily.

“…” Qin Yun was a little confused, “Are you looking for a map? Let me see if there is anything a guide needs.”

Moschery didn’t say anything and started to look through things. Qin Yun shrugged and ran to the medicine area alone. He searched the three shelves but didn’t find anything useful. He was about to give up when he saw red contraband in the corner, labelled with the words ‘stimulant’ on it.

“Xi Zhao! Come over and see what I found?” Qin Yun said excitedly.

As the name suggests, ‘stimulant’ was a drug that could stimulate the guide’s potential mental power. The reason it was called contraband was because the side effects after it subsided would be very serious, affecting the brain and mind.

But Qin Yun didn’t care about this. Compared to the aftermath, he had to consider the critical moment to maximise the stimulation of his mental power without relying on Moschery to supplement pheromones so he could assist his Sentinel to the fullest extent.

He quickly prepared several tubes of medicine and carefully put them into the bag. Qin Yun was about to stand up when he suddenly kicked a piece of solid wood at his feet. He lowered his head and found a row of capsules on the bottom shelf.

“What is this?” Qin Yun muttered. He bent down and opened one of the hatches without much effort. A pale human face with eyes closed was slowly revealed.

“…Corpse?!” Qin Yun was a little frightened, but he quickly calmed down and squinted his eyes to look carefully, “No…it’s a clone…”

Clone… Qin Yun slowly opened his eyes. He looked at the sleeping lifeless but increasingly familiar eyebrows, stretched out his hand and slowly touched his face…

“What are you doing?” Moschery walked around the shelf and said impatiently, “You are not answering no matter what I call you…”

When Qin Yun wanted to close the capsule cabin, it was already too late. Moschery’s eyes were fixed on the clone inside, and the expression on his face instantly became extremely bad. He ignored Qin Yun’s obstruction and opened all the remaining capsules in one go. The cabin looked uglier every time it was opened.

Qin Yun opened his mouth. Just as he was about to say something, his vision blurred. Moschery had already drawn his sword and stabbed the first clone in the head without hesitation.
