Chapter 59

In the book that Suo Yang and Shen Huiming had been flipping through, there was a sentence—Confession is often more difficult than everyday communication.

Suo Yang was a very introverted person in emotional expression. Compared with saying ‘I love you’, he was more willing to integrate this emotion into every detail of life to be perceived and discovered by the other party.

He knew that confession was not something to be ashamed of, but he always had a hard time saying it.

But at this moment, as they skated on the ice, the accelerated excitement made him feel derailed. He was detached from his original self, and he was desperately in need of conveying his love.

He shouted loudly, calling his lover’s name and the phrase ‘I love you’ that Shen Huiming rarely heard.

Shen Huiming actually knew very well that Suo Yang seldom said this sentence, not because the other party didn’t love him; it was all due to his personality. Whether a person loved himself or not, it didn’t matter what the other party said; what mattered was what he had done.

Love was such a thing; although it sounded vague and elusive, had no substance and couldn’t be touched, in fact, once it really came, both the lover and the loved one could feel it.

Shen Huiming felt Suo Yang’s love, so he was not obsessed with the phrase ‘I love you’.

However, at this moment, he unexpectedly received Suo Yang’s confession, loud and clear, a few words thrown into the air, exploding into fireworks in broad daylight.

When the two left the ice rink, Suo Yang was still in a giddy state. Their arms were tightly pressed together, and the backs of their hands touched each other from time to time.

Back in the car, Shen Huiming turned around and pulled Suo Yang for a kiss without hesitation. He couldn’t worry so much anymore. Even if he was seen, he didn’t care.

It had just snowed heavily the night before, and now it was snowing again.

On the last day of the year, snowflakes silently covered the city, burying all the noise in the clean snow.

Shen Huiming took Suo Yang to a cake shop, and the two made a birthday cake for Suo Yang with their own hands. After finishing the work, Suo Yang carefully wrote on it: Happy Birthday Shen Huiming’s Boyfriend.

There were so many words squeezed into the cake that was not too big, and almost everything couldn’t fit in it at the end.

Suo Yang leaned against Shen Huiming and smiled, “It looks like I’m very greedy.”

“You can be more greedy,” Shen Huiming said, “after all, you are Shen Huiming’s boyfriend.”

Suo Yang smiled, “You are a really arrogant person sometimes.”

“That’s true,” Shen Huiming said again, “After all, I am Suo Yang’s boyfriend.”

The two looked at each other and smiled, then went home with the cake.

They went back to Shen Huiming’s house together because it was rumoured that there would be fireworks not far from here during New Year’s Eve, and they could see clearly from the balcony of Shen Huiming’s house without any mishaps.

In winter, it got dark early, and it was already dark when they arrived home.

They put down the cake, and they went downstairs to the supermarket to buy ingredients together. Shen Huiming was going to cook a birthday meal for Suo Yang tonight personally.

When Suo Yang lived alone, he didn’t like to go to the supermarket. He ordered everything online and delivered it directly to his door. But after being with Shen Huiming, he suddenly began to enjoy the feeling of going to the supermarket with him.

The two people walked into the warm supermarket, one pushing the shopping cart, the other picking the ingredients and turning around from time to time to ask, “How about this? Do you like this?”

One of the most important things in life was the so-called ‘fireworks’. A strong sense of excitement that could arouse a person’s desire to live a good life.

In the past, Suo Yang’s life was uneventful, let alone others; even he himself felt it lacked flavour and excitement.

He was as bland as water1metaphor used to describe something ordinary/mundane, and it seemed that there was a kind of romantic independence from the world, but in fact, after experiencing the gentle world brought to him by Shen Huiming, Suo Yang never wanted to return to the cold and indifferent days before.

It was like—he had seen the ocean; he couldn’t pretend he hadn’t.

The two bought a cart full of ingredients, including some snacks.

None of them liked to eat snacks, but when passing by the shelf, Shen Huiming carefully selected two packs of candies and put them in the shopping cart.

He said, “In the future when you have a flight, put a candy I bought in your pocket. Consider it as me accompanying you on your journey.”

Suo Yang laughed at him for being sentimental, but he confidently said, “That’s right, people in love always talk like this.”

They returned from the supermarket, and the snow fell even more.

Shen Huiming said, “We should come out and have a snowball fight and build a snowman.”

He asked Suo Yang, “Did you have snowball fights with people when you were young?”

Suo Yang’s hometown was only a three-hour high-speed train ride from the city where he currently lives. Both were in the northern region, so the climate and lifestyle were actually quite similar.

But because of his family’s upbringing and his own personality, he never played anything.

Suo Yang followed Shen Huiming into the building door, “No, when I was young, I hardly went out to play after school. Now that I’ve grown up, I can’t afford to play either.”

“Then you haven’t met me,” Shen Huiming took his hand upstairs, “If you met me when you were a child, I would go to your window every day and ask you to come out to play.”

Suo Yang imagined that scene and thought it was a bit funny.

“Then I might get annoyed with you,” Suo Yang said, “You interrupted my study.”

In the elevator, the two laughed together. Even a little joke between lovers was utterly adorable.

This year, Suo Yang finally celebrated his birthday properly. His lover accompanied him and carefully cooked a large table of delicacies for him. In the middle of the table was the cake they made together. It didn’t look perfect, but because they made it by themselves, it had infinite added value.

Shen Huiming put in a candle, and the number ‘28’ was lit.

Shen Huiming said, “After today, until my birthday, there will be only a two-year age difference between the two of us.”

       “You care about age?”

“No, what I mean is, even if you’re 28, I’m still your brother.” At this moment, the lights in the room were all turned off, with only the flickering candlelight reflecting on their faces. Both of them looked very gentle. Shen Huiming said, “You were very cooperative with me when we rented the sledges today. Have you been wanting to call me ge all along?”

Suo Yang looked at him with a smile, “It’s just fine.”

       “Fine?”

“Well,” Suo Yang paused, looking at him through the candlelight, “You enjoyed hearing it?”

“You called me quite sexily,” Shen Huiming said. “As nasty as it sounds, it’s true. I almost couldn’t hold back my hard-on when you called me ge at that moment.”

Suo Yang leaned on the table with both hands and couldn’t help laughing out loud.

       “I can’t believe you’re such a person.”

“It wasn’t originally,” Shen Huiming said honestly, “After meeting you, maybe I’ve picked up some bad habits.”

       “Did I corrupt you?”

“No. there are people who unintentionally captivate others, and I lose my composure every time I see you.” Shen Huiming thought for a while, then lowered his head and smiled, “Otherwise, I wouldn’t have asked you for your mobile phone number.”

That was the first time they met. Suo Yang found Shen Huiming’s ticket holder and returned it to him. Seizing the opportunity, Shen Huiming tried to ask for Suo Yang’s contact information but was rejected.

Shen Huiming always thought that he was a very self-controlled person, but since he met Suo Yang, this good quality of himself had disappeared in front of the other party.

“Well… there is another nickname. You may like it better.” Suo Yang said, “Although today is my birthday, to thank you for making me so happy, I’ll give you a gift. Do you want me to call you ‘ge’ or choose another nickname?”

       “What could it be?”

“You choose first, and then I’ll tell you.” Suo Yang looked at him with a smile, “Do you want to play safe? Or do you want to take a risk?”

Shen Huiming looked at him, with a table of delicious food and a birthday cake between them.

He stretched out his hand, “Touch my hand, let me sense it.”

Suo Yang laughed out loud, complaining about his childishness, but still reached out to him.

Shen Huiming held his hand, rubbed the back of his hand lightly, and said, “I’ll choose another one.”

       “No regrets?”

       “No regrets.”

Suo Yang went around the dining table and walked to Shen Huiming’s side.

He approached slowly and put his arms around his neck.

Their foreheads touched, and Suo Yang’s lips parted slightly, “Husband.”

His voice was so soft that Shen Huiming couldn’t even tell if it was his hallucination.

Shen Huiming suddenly put his arms around Suo Yang’s waist and asked him uncertainly, “What did you call me just now?”

“Husband.” Suo Yang looked at him and smiled, the lips of the two almost touched together “Do you like me to call you this?”

Suo Yang himself couldn’t explain why he suddenly became so bold today; he confessed loudly outside and broke through his shame when they returned home and called Shen Huiming, his husband.

Shen Huiming was dazzled by the joy. He never expected Suo Yang to call him that.

From ‘Mr. Shen’ to ‘Huiming’, it took him a lot of thought and effort. Shen Huiming knew Suo Yang’s character very well, and he never expected to ask for more from the other party.

He didn’t ask for it, but his Suo Yang took the initiative to give it to him.

Shen Huiming couldn’t help hugging and kissing him, regardless of whether the burning candle had dripped on the cake or whether the cooked food was getting cold, he pushed Suo Yang against the wall, and the two of them embraced each other in a passionate and lingering kiss.

The book they read together said—we began the longest and best kiss in human history.

As for Suo Yang, he also understood another sentence in the book—it is easier to fire Cupid’s arrow than to receive them, and it is easier to give than to receive.

It turned out that expressing love was such a joyful thing. When he watched Shen Huiming excited and satisfied because of his expression of love, his life seemed to become richer and more worthy of celebration.

“Why are you so proactive today?” Shen Huiming bit Suo Yang’s lip lightly and asked.

“Because I love you.” Suo Yang looked straight into his eyes and said, “And I also hope you can know that I love you.”

Chapter 61 – Long ge is more handsome than you

Chapter 61 –  Long ge is more handsome than you

The atmosphere on set remained highly tense.

Finally, the director spoke up: “Good, cut! Moving on!”

The crew members relaxed, but this was just the first shot they had managed to get through that morning. There were still a few more smaller shots to go.

The director said, “Great job, everyone. We can take a break for lunch at noon.”

A faint cheer erupted on the set.

Jian Luo let out a sigh of relief, setting down his tired arms and tossing a bag of potato chips aside. “Finally, it’s over.”

Guo Feicheng gazed at him. “Are you tired?”

Jian Luo nodded, then looked back at him. “Aren’t you tired?”

“I’m used to it,” Guo Feicheng replied with a face handsome enough to rival Lu Shifeng’s, but with makeup, he looked even more delicate. “How about I treat you to lunch at noon?”

Jian Luo was about to decline when his personal secretary approached. “Luo Luo!”

This time, not only Jian Luo but everyone else also turned to look. Dragon Clan members were relatively rare in the entertainment industry, so few could recognize the chief secretary next to the Marshal. Nevertheless, many recognized his military rank, which was at the level of a General, indicating his high status in the Dragon Clan.

Jian Luo turned around, his eyes lighting up. “Secretary Jin.”

“I’m here to bring you lunch,” Secretary Jin stood beside Jian Luo, glanced at Guo Feicheng, her expression changing slightly, but she ultimately didn’t say anything.

Guo Feicheng teased, “Miss Jin, you treat me like I’m invisible. That’s quite heartbreaking.”

Secretary Jin playfully adjusted her hair. “You’re exaggerating. I wouldn’t dare. But this time, I’m here to pick someone up. We can chat if we have a chance.”

With that, Secretary Jin led Jian Luo away.

The two of them walked through the corridor and found a lounge to sit in. Once the door clicked shut, they began the so-called “three-court inquiry,” a legendary form of questioning:

“Luoluo, why are you with him?”

“Do you know each other well?”

“Has he done anything to you?”

   …

“Don’t make it seem like we’re having an affair,” Jian Luo scratched his head and explained, “We’re just shooting an advertisement, promoting it on the website.”

Secretary Jin also guessed the situation and sighed, “Alright, just for today then? Don’t interact with him too much, Guo Feicheng is a very cunning person. Do you know it’s dangerous to associate with him?”

Jian Luo chuckled, “It seems like you both have strong opinions about each other.”

He used to think that the Dragon Clan was all about love and unity, but now he realized there were distractions among them. He just hadn’t encountered them before.

Secretary Jin thought for a moment and decided that she shouldn’t discuss the Marshal’s personal matters. So, she used vague words, “Well, as long as you know. Just keep your distance from Guo Feicheng. Dragon Clan members are very territorial, you know? If the Marshal catches a whiff of your scent after being around him, who knows what might happen!”

“Scary,” Jian Luo said tentatively, “Isn’t the Dragon Clan’s possessiveness usually reserved for their partners? Can I even count?”

Secretary Jin replied, “Why not? Haven’t you seen how often the Marshal sends people over to check on you even when he’s busy with work? This isn’t just counting; it’s intense counting!”

“Well, I’ll be careful,” Jian Luo conceded.

Even if Secretary Jin hadn’t said it today, Jian Luo would have tried not to have too much contact with Guo Feicheng. His animal instincts told him that this big star wasn’t a simple character.

In the afternoon, the director’s voice rang out, “Cut, that’s a wrap!”

The final shot had been successfully completed. The director announced, “Great job, everyone. I’ll treat you all to dinner at Moonlight tonight!”

Moonlight was considered a high-end place, and the director was being quite generous. The surrounding cheers filled the air.

Jiang Jiang approached Jian Luo, “Luo Luo, are you coming?”

Jian Luo wasn’t particularly interested in joining, “I think I’ll pass.”

“What’s the matter?” Jiang Jiang tilted his head, looking at him, “Tonight’s dinner is the director’s treat, a celebration for you and the big star Guo. It won’t be the same without you.”

Jian Luo considered it for a moment and eventually agreed. Moonlight was practically his second home, and he felt comfortable there, both with the food and the people.

Jiang Jiang patted his shoulder, “Great choice.”

Finally, the group arrived at Moonlight, a splendid place as always. The building was beautiful, resembling a full moon during the day and a crescent moon at night, emitting a faint golden glow. The welcoming attendants, all handsome and beautiful, greeted them, “Welcome to Moonlight!”

The director reserved a table on the second floor. Jian Luo wanted to find a quiet corner since, as a minor character, he assumed no one would pay much attention to him. This was all thanks to the advertisement.

Guo Feicheng took the initiative to pull out his chair, “Please, have a seat.”

“Thank you,” Jian Luo replied.

The elegant and gentlemanly star won the favor of the crew. When the dishes started to arrive, the table quickly filled with various dishes, most of them given to Jian Luo, complimentary.

The director was delighted, “I’m a regular here at Moonlight, and this is in appreciation of our past cooperation.”

Everyone voiced their agreement.

Jian Luo ate his food quietly and noticed that alcohol was being served. The director said, “Come on, I’ll raise a toast to everyone. You’ve all worked hard today.”

Everyone raised their glasses, except Jian Luo, who substituted tea for alcohol. His small action didn’t go unnoticed, and it seemed like people were paying more attention to him than he expected.

The director’s expression changed, “Luo Luo, what does this mean?”

Jian Luo quickly explained, “I’m sorry, I can’t drink alcohol.”

The director was displeased, “You’re working, how can you not handle alcohol?”

Jiang Jiang sitting nearby wanted to defuse the situation, but Guo Feicheng was quicker. He immediately grabbed a glass of wine and drank it, saying, “Director, I’ll drink for him.”

With that, Guo Feicheng downed the glass of wine.

Jian Luo was surprised, and so was everyone at the table. After all, a Dragon Clan member, especially a big star, drinking on behalf of someone else was quite unexpected.

The director chuckled, “Feicheng, you’re indeed considerate of the younger generation.”

“Guo Feicheng: ‘Where? Where?'”

As Jian Luo continued to eat, he found it uninteresting. He told the people around him, “I’ll excuse myself for a moment; you all continue.”

Using the restroom as an excuse at a dinner table was a universal reason and could even last until the end of the banquet. It all depended on the individual’s improvisation skills.

Jian Luo made his way to the rooftop. Now, with the night descending, the splendor of the Dark Stars was slowly revealing itself. The city was illuminated with brilliant lights, tall buildings sparkled, and the sky was filled with flying vehicles. The stars adorned the night sky, making this planet unbelievably beautiful.

“Oh, you’re here.”

A voice came from behind.

Jian Luo turned around, somewhat surprised, and met Guo Feicheng’s gaze. “How did you know I was here?”

“Dragon Clan members are sensitive to scents, especially since you also have a hint of dragon scent. Knowing where you are isn’t that difficult, is it?” Guo Feicheng approached slowly. “Are you so afraid of me? I don’t think I’ve done anything morally wrong.”

Jian Luo spoke calmly, “I advise you not to have any ulterior motives. Since you’re a member of the Dragon Clan, you should know there are people around me. If you do anything to me, the consequences will be severe.”

Guo Feicheng smiled, “I can tell, Lu Shifeng cares a lot about you.”

Jian Luo shrugged, “I think you care about me quite a bit too. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you had fallen for me, secretly in love. But now, it seems like you’re more likely in love with the Marshal.”

One of these remarks seemed to strike a nerve with Guo Feicheng. His lips twitched, and a mysterious glint passed through his eyes.

After a pause, Guo Feicheng approached closer, his handsome face sporting a smile, and he gazed directly into Jian Luo’s eyes. “Tell me, he’s not a very interesting man, is he? Overbearing and unreasonable, not to mention his lack of skill in flirting and joking. What exactly do you see in him?”

Jian Luo leaned against the rooftop. “I’m guessing you’re trying to make me get away from him.”

Guo Feicheng’s smile deepened. He extended his hand as if to touch Jian Luo’s face. “You see, I don’t like Lu Shifeng. As long as he’s unhappy, I’m happy. On the other hand, I quite like you, a human who has made it this far. It’s not easy. We’re quite similar.”

Jian Luo crossed his arms. “So, what’s your plan then?”

“Dragon Clan members all have weaknesses, and Lu Shifeng is no exception,” Guo Feicheng said slowly. “As long as you help me…”

Jian Luo frowned. He had only intended to hear what this person had in mind, but the conversation had escalated to a sensitive level. His animal instincts told him that knowing too much could lead to trouble. After all, he was just a survival-minded human.

Jian Luo raised his hand to stop the person who was getting ahead of themselves, “Stop, I don’t want to hear any more. Let’s end it here.”

Guo Feicheng was taken aback, “You’re not…”

“Oh, you must have misunderstood. I never said he forced me,” Jian Luo’s eyes gleamed, and he added with a playful tone, “I don’t know where you got your information, but our Long ge is much more attractive than you. Plus, he’s honest and doesn’t backstab people. I used to think Dragon Clan members were all good people, but seeing you, I finally understand why you were expelled.”

Chapter 76 – Who Says Omegas Can’t be as Explosive as Alphas

Chapter 76

Lu Jingning’s current situation looked quite dire. He was not only bound physically but also injected with suppressants, completely stifling any release of the remaining pheromones in his body. It seemed nearly impossible for him to emit even a trace of his pheromones.

However, he wasn’t entirely satisfied with Zhong Feng’s statement. How could they say he was keen on seeking death? Provoking them had nothing to do with seeking death from any perspective. At most, it could be seen as a willingness to explore the truth.

In response, Lu Jingning put on a harmless smile and said, “Don’t say that. After all, we’ve met, and now that I’m in your hands, could you answer some questions for me?”

Zhong Feng couldn’t believe that the man before him could still maintain such a playful attitude in this situation. He had endured days of misery in prison, and all he could think about was the face he loathed so much. Now, having this man at his mercy, he felt quite satisfied. He coldly taunted, “You’re already a dead man. There’s no need for pointless chitchat.”

“But isn’t it necessary to talk a bit before dying, so you can die contentedly?” Lu Jingning chuckled and blinked curiously. “Since you were able to find me, you must have seen Wen Xingchen too. Knowing our identities, you still concealed the information and set a trap for your current boss. Is that really a wise move?”

It was clear from their previous conversation that the other two men had no idea about his true identity, suggesting that Zhong Feng had kept them in the dark intentionally. This self-sabotaging behavior piqued Lu Jingning’s curiosity about this man’s thought process.

Zhong Feng snapped, “So what? As long as I can capture you, I can do it at any cost!”

He had managed to escape during the chaos in the prison and made his way to Watchful Star, becoming a member of this mysterious organization. His A-level pheromone strength made him stand out among the others and gained him the favor of the leaders. He could have chosen to live a comfortable and carefree life on this remote planet through various means. But then, he encountered Lu Jingning—the man who had pushed him into the abyss.

The seed of resentment had been growing in his heart, and when he saw the face that he deeply abhorred, he couldn’t restrain his hatred. To him, such a comfortable life was meaningless unless he could get his master to help him exact revenge and annihilate these people. He knew that if his master knew these people were sent by the military academy, they would cease their actions. To make his master believe that the so-called Wen Corporation really existed, he decided to hide everything he knew.

And now, it seemed that his plan had succeeded. Lu Jingning was right before him, and all he needed to do was stab him to have his revenge.

Zhong Feng couldn’t help but lick the tip of his blade and smiled sinisterly. “They all say your face is handsome, but why do I find it so disgusting? If I thoroughly destroy this charming face, do you think Wen Xingchen will go insane?”

He vividly remembered the two people from that day in the warehouse. He wanted to destroy them both!

Lu Jingning, however, calmly lifted his leg and delivered a swift kick, sending Zhong Feng sprawling to the ground. The sudden pain made him instinctively retch.

Lu Jingning’s voice was chillingly low, “If you have any issues with me, deal with me. Who gave you the right to involve Wen Xingchen?”

Seemingly unaffected by the bound hands, Lu Jingning stood up, carrying the chair with him, and stepped closer to Zhong Feng, then delivered another kick, slamming him against the wall.

Zhong Feng’s head was spinning, and a strong sense of threat made him hesitate. Just as he was about to swing his blade at Lu Jingning, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. Lu Jingning had kicked him again, causing him to crash into the wall.

The sudden change caught Zhong Feng off guard, and he stammered, “This can’t be…”

The display of strength was nothing like that of an Omega without pheromones.

As the situation unfolded, Lu Jingning freed himself from the ropes and coldly observed the man named Zhong Feng, who lay on the ground, his chest heaving with fear and desperation. Zhong Feng tried to use his Alpha pheromones to influence Lu Jingning, but to no avail, as Lu Jingning was not affected by an A-class Alpha.

Lu Jingning kicked Zhong Feng’s head again, taunting him with disdain. He mocked Zhong Feng for being clueless about the possibilities and unable to recognize his mistakes. Lu Jingning reminded him of the errors he had made in the past, and how he was making the biggest mistake of his life right now, trying to threaten and harm Lu Jingning and the people he cared about.

Desperate and panicking, Zhong Feng tried to reason with Lu Jingning, claiming that killing him would be illegal as he was an escaped convict. However, Lu Jingning calmly retorted that he was acting in self-defense against Zhong Feng’s aggressive actions.

Despite Zhong Feng’s plea, Lu Jingning swiftly took hold of the situation. In a fierce and decisive move, he impaled Zhong Feng’s heart with his own knife. As the blood poured out, Lu Jingning watched him slide lifelessly down the wall.

Aware that others would be drawn by the commotion, Lu Jingning needed to escape the scene. He scoured Zhong Feng’s belongings and found a laser gun in a bag. Lu Jingning chuckled at Zhong Feng’s attempts to deceive him earlier.

Now, relying solely on his physical prowess, as his pheromones had been suppressed, Lu Jingning moved agilely through the chaos of the corridor, leaving behind a trail of bodies. The low-level hired hands, mostly weaker Alphas or Betas, couldn’t do anything to stop his swift movement.

Finally, as he found himself alone in the corridor, Lu Jingning smiled. He had managed to evade capture and kill his captors with sheer skill and luck. However, he knew that he had to act quickly before others arrived. The enemies’ pheromones had been suppressing his own, and it was dangerous to stay exposed.

Laughing at his good fortune, Lu Jingning continued to navigate through the complex, preparing for the next challenge that awaited him.

He glanced at the bloodstains on his clothes, unsure when they got there, and stowed the newly acquired firearms into the leather pouch around his waist. Scanning the surroundings, he took a step towards a deeper area. According to Zhong Feng’s implication, those people still didn’t know their true identities. In that case, Wen Xingchen and the others must be on their way to “pick him up” by now.

Before they arrived, he had to create more chaos in this place. Otherwise, it would be too dangerous if the enemy operated in secret while they were exposed. Moreover, the suppressants that Zhong Feng used earlier seemed to be gradually taking effect. With these thoughts in mind, Lu Jingning felt an increasing sense of urgency to accelerate his progress.

However, just as he took a few steps forward, his footsteps suddenly halted. He felt a gaze fixed on him, which gave rise to an unprecedented sense of threat. Lu Jingning instinctively looked up and saw through the transparent window a platform on the second floor where a flying aircraft was stationed.

Standing by the aircraft was a white-haired man with a slender appearance. Under the faint starlight, his face seemed to be covered with a strange white hue. The man was looking in Lu Jingning’s direction, and the gaze came directly from his unique eyes, which had a distinctive emerald-green color and vertical pupils.

During that brief moment when their eyes met, Lu Jingning felt a chill enveloping his entire body. Not out of fear, but because of his exceptional eyesight, he could clearly see the unique pupils in those eyes – they were emerald green and vertically shaped.

The man gazed at him for a while and then turned to board the aircraft, disappearing into the sky.

The location where Wen Xingchen and the others were supposed to rendezvous was a hotel not far from the south of the harbor. As they didn’t know the other party’s background, everyone was extremely cautious.

Upon entering the hotel, they found the lobby empty and deserted. As they proceeded further inside, scattered corpses lying on the ground came into view, shocking them all. Realizing what had happened, Wen Xingchen hurriedly quickened his steps, running deep into the hotel.

As they went deeper, the silence became increasingly dreadful. Throughout their journey, Wen Xingchen failed to perceive any trace of Lu Jingning’s pheromones, no matter how hard he tried to sense them. His pace quickened even further.

He couldn’t remember how many rooms he had opened so far when, as he pushed open another door, the person inside instinctively stood up, and almost simultaneously, raised their firearms at him.

Recognizing the person’s appearance, Wen Xingchen felt his breath pause for a moment before he managed to speak with a slightly hoarse voice, “It’s me.”

With his back to the light, Lu Jingning sensed the overly familiar pheromones surrounding him, and he couldn’t help but smile lightly, “Ah, you finally came.”

Once he relaxed, Lu Jingning almost slumped into Wen Xingchen’s arms, who quickly embraced him. Covered in bloodstains, Wen Xingchen dared not move too much, unsure of where Lu Jingning might be injured.

Taking in the pleasant scent of mint smoke, Lu Jingning felt the wandering gaze of the other person on him. He couldn’t help but chuckle softly, “Don’t worry, it’s all someone else’s blood, I’m fine.”

Only then did Wen Xingchen’s tense heart ease up a bit, and just as he was about to say something, the person in his arms spoke again, “I just want to… sleep for a while.”

Wen Xingchen’s back stiffened, and he blurted out, “Sleep?!”

Lu Jingning: “Mhm, I just want to rest for a bit.”

With the combat process, Lu Jingning had kept his nerves tense, resisting the strong drowsiness caused by the two suppressants. Only when he was lying in the comforting embrace could he finally relax. At this moment, his eyelids couldn’t help but droop, and he seemed to be completely engulfed by a profound darkness.

Keeping this posture, Wen Xingchen fell silent for a moment, feeling the rising and falling breath of the person in his arms. He hugged him tighter and said in a hoarse voice, “You really are reckless.”

The author has something to say: Lu bro is very angry after being touched the wrong way, and the consequences are severe. Tsk, in a way, it’s all for you, Lao Wen.

T/N: Hey there! There is plenty more where that came from, so stay tuned! And stay healthy! Straighten your posture, so some stretches and drink some water before continuing hehe~
