The Capture Target Came Out Wrong

Chapter 9

Zhan Weiyang was woken up by Pei Qing the next morning.

Pei Qing called him several times, but he didn’t wake up. Later, Pei Qing reached out and patted his face five or six times before Zhan Weiyang slowly opened his eyes.

Zhan Weiyang’s gaze was disoriented, and he couldn’t focus when he looked at Pei Qing.

Pei Qing said, “Yangyang, get up and go to school.”

Zhan Weiyang blinked his eyes and almost closed them again.

Pei Qing held his eyelids with his fingers and said to him, “Auntie Luo knocked on the door just now. If you don’t get down quickly, she will knock on the door again later.”

Zhan Weiyang nodded uncomfortably, said ‘En’ softly, and sat up with his hands. He was in a daze for another minute before climbing out of bed, wearing slippers and heading outside.

After taking two steps, Zhan Weiyang suddenly remembered that this was Pei Qing’s room. He turned around, picked up his pillow and quilt, and said to Pei Qing, who was lying on the bed, “Qing ge, I’m leaving.”

Pei Qing said, “Go ahead, don’t be late.”

During self-study that morning, Zhan Weiyang opened the book and put it on the table, hiding his head behind the book and dozing off. After class ended, he lay down on the table and fell asleep.

Zhan Weiyang’s mental state was very bad all morning. It was not until the bell rang for the last class in the morning that he suddenly felt that he had regained some energy.

During lunch, Chen Youyou asked him, “What did you do, last night?”

Zhan Weiyang’s favourite yuxiang eggplant was served for lunch today. He ate it with gusto. When he heard Chen Youyou’s question, he lifted his head and answered him, “Chatting with my older cousin.”

Chen Youyou only knew that Zhan Weiyang had a biological brother but had never heard him talk about his older cousin. He asked strangely, “Your older cousin? Stayed, at your house?”

Zhan Weiyang nodded and said, “He is an intern at a nearby company in his senior year and stayed in my house starting from this semester onwards.”

“Your older, cousin talk to you, until late at night?” Chen Youyou felt unbelievable.

Zhan Weiyang said, “Yes, he is much better than my brother. My brother just ignores me.”

“Oh,” Chen Youyou said, lowering his head and continuing eating.

After a while, they saw Xie Ling passing by their table after lunch. Xie Ling was still not alone today. In addition to the two boys and a girl yesterday, there was another girl.

The two girls followed Xie Ling arm in arm, talking and laughing as they walked.

When Xie Ling passed by, Zhan Weiyang and Chen Youyou subconsciously looked up at him.

But Xie Ling didn’t even turn his head and walked straight out of the cafeteria with his eyes straight ahead.

Chen Youyou lowered his head and snorted in disgust while Zhan Weiyang kept looking at Xie Ling’s leaving figure.

“W-what’s there to see?” Chen Youyou said, “Are you s-still not giving up?”

Zhan Weiyang turned around, leaned forward, and whispered, “If I don’t give up, what else can I do?”

Chen Youyou said, “Just go, and tell him, directly.”

Zhan Weiyang thought Chen Youyou and Pei Qing had the same suggestion, and he said bitterly, “What if I tell him directly that he rejects me?”

Chen Youyou said, “It’s not if. It’s definite that, he will, reject you.”

Zhan Weiyang asked seriously, “What should we do?”

Chen Youyou said, “What can, be done?” He was a little irritated because he couldn’t speak well and had to talk some nonsense to Zhan Weiyang, “If someone d-doesn’t like you…you can’t keep pestering them. It’s not d-decent and doesn’t seem l-like a manly approach.”

Zhan Weiyang lowered his head slightly. He was not in the mood to pick up the last piece of yuxiang eggplant. He said, “Oh.”

Chen Youyou said, “If he doesn’t want it, forget it. Anyway, I won’t help you anymore.”

“Okay,” Zhan Weiyang said, “I won’t go to him and tell him directly.”

Chen Youyou didn’t understand his brain circuit and looked at him inexplicably.

Zhan Weiyang explained, “This way, I can think of other ways to be more decent.”

Chen Youyou felt that Zhan Weiyang was hopeless.

They didn’t watch Xie Ling play basketball at noon because Zhan Weiyang had eaten a full meal, and all the blood had been supplied to his stomach for digestion. He was sleepy again, so he went back to the classroom and slept on his stomach all afternoon.

The consequence of not taking action for a whole day was that Zhan Weiyang actually didn’t get any points deducted that day.

Zhan Weiyang didn’t notice this at first. He suddenly noticed it when he was doing questions at night.

One second, he was aimlessly writing formulas on the draft paper, but the next second, he suddenly stopped writing and raised his head to look at the ceiling.

Pei Qing was sitting next to him, reading a book. He noticed Zhan Weiyang’s abnormal behaviour out of the corner of his eye and turned his head to look at him.

Zhan Weiyang was still staring at the ceiling, thinking that there really were no points deducted today!

Pei Qing placed the hand holding the pen against his chin and looked up at the ceiling for a moment but didn’t see anything unusual.

Zhan Weiyang’s not-so-flexible mind began to make calculations: If no points would be deducted if he didn’t take action, then he shouldn’t take action for the time being. He could maintain the status quo.

Just as he was thinking this, the voice sounded again, “The relationship status negatively enhanced, 2 points deducted.”

Zhan Weiyang opened his mouth slightly, slowly lowered his head and looked towards Pei Qing.

Pei Qing waved the pen in front of his eyes, “What’s wrong?”

Zhan Weiyang didn’t say anything and just looked at Pei Qing blankly.

Pei Qing couldn’t help but reach out and touch his forehead. His forehead was slightly cool but not hot.

Zhan Weiyang raised his hand, put it on the back of Pei Qing’s hand, and called him, “Qing ge.”

       Pei Qing said, “Hmm?”

Zhan Weiyang said, “I want to take a bath.”

Pei Qing withdrew his hand and tapped on the open page of the book with the tip of his pen, “Do you want to take a bath upstairs?”

Zhan Weiyang nodded. His head was too messy, and he couldn’t think calmly. He wanted to soak in the water.

Pei Qing said to him, “But before your brother left, he said he wouldn’t let you sneak into his bathtub.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “We can’t tell him.”

Pei Qing didn’t agree with some of Zhan Weiguang’s ideas. He didn’t feel that letting his little brother use his bathtub was something unforgivable. Besides, this was Zhan Weiyang’s home. In fact, he had no position to stop Zhan Weiyang, so he nodded, “Go ahead.”

Zhan Weiyang suddenly said happily, “That’s great.”

Watching Zhan Weiyang run out to the outside bathroom to pack up his things, Pei Qing got up and was ready to go back to his own room when he hesitated or sent a WeChat message to Zhan Weiguang, asking him, “Why not install a bathtub on the second floor so that Weiyang can take a bath? “The bathroom on the second floor was quite large and could fit a bathtub.

He also heard the brisk sound of Zhan Weiyang packing his things in the corridor. Then he walked into the room, and when he closed the door, he saw Zhan Weiguang replying to his WeChat message.

Zhan Weiguang sent a voice message.

Pei Qing sat down by the bed, opened the voice message, brought it close to his ear, and heard Zhan Weiguang say, “He used to fall asleep in the bathtub more than once when he was taking a bath. Dad was afraid he would drown, so he didn’t allow him to take baths anymore.”

After listening, Pei Qing took the phone away from his ear, and immediately saw the next voice message from Zhan Weiguang.

Zhan Weiguang said this time, “Qing ge, please help keep an eye on him and don’t let him secretly use my bathtub. I’m sorry to bother you.”

Pei Qing replied to him by typing, “I understand.” Then he stood up, held his phone and walked outside.

Zhan Weiyang was nowhere to be seen on the second floor. There was a crack in the door to his room, and the cool air from the air conditioner poured out from the crack, but Zhan Weiyang was not inside.

Pei Qing closed the door and walked along the corridor towards the stairs.

When he was on the stairs, Pei Qing had already heard the sound of water on the third floor. He walked up and saw that the only bathroom door on the third floor was closed. There was light coming from the crack of the door on the ground, accompanied by the sound of rushing water.

He knocked on the door, but there was no response, so he reached out and opened the door.

The bathroom door was unlocked, and Zhan Weiyang was still wearing pyjamas. He was squatting on the ground on the edge of the bathtub, staring at the bathtub intently, waiting for the water inside to be filled.

“Yangyang,” Pei Qing called him from the door.

Zhan Weiyang turned around suddenly, with a little surprise on his face, “Qing ge?” He seemed to be stunned for a moment before he came to his senses and asked, “You also want to take a bath?”

Chapter 8

Pei Qing asked Zhan Weiyang who the love letter was for, but Zhan Weiyang refused to tell. Naturally, he would not push it. He just smiled, looked at Zhan Weiyang, and said, “Is this your first time in love?”

Zhan Weiyang answered him, “I’m not in love.”

       “Huh?” Pei Qing seemed puzzled.

Zhan Weiyang was very distressed and finally said, “I asked someone to give him the love letter, but he just threw it away.”

Pei Qing thought of the pink envelope burned by Zhan Weiyang. He reached out to pull down his laptop screen, leaned back on the chair, and asked, “Is it the tall, good-looking girl with good grades?”

Zhan Weiyang hesitated for a moment but nodded without denying.

Pei Qing asked, “She threw it in front of you? That impolite?”

Zhan Weiyang said, “No, I asked someone to give it to him for me, but he didn’t know it was written by me.”

Pei Qing nodded and said, “Is that so?”

Zhan Weiyang turned around to face Pei Qing and asked him, “Qing ge, what do you think I should do?”

Pei Qing crossed his arms in front of his chest, “If she doesn’t accept love letters, so just tell her in person.”

Zhan Weiyang frowned, “What if he doesn’t want it?”

Pei Qing asked curiously, “Could it be that you are still unwilling to give up even if she rejects you in person?”

Zhan Weiyang fell into deep thought.

The voice in his head suddenly sounded at this moment, “Relationship status negatively enhanced, 2 points deducted.”

Zhan Weiyang was shocked, grabbed Pei Qing’s arm, and said, “I won’t give up!”

Pei Qing looked down at the hand he held tightly to him.

Zhan Weiyang was like grabbing a life-saving straw. He felt that Pei Qing was smart and good at getting along with others. He believed that Pei Qing could give him good advice, so he asked, “Can you teach me what to do?”

Pei Qing patted the back of his hand and said calmly, “Don’t worry.”

He actually wanted to signal Zhan Weiyang to let go, but Zhan Weiyang held on to him and refused to let go. He could only continue, “Yangyang, do you know that you are now in your second year of high school, which is a critical time for your studies?”

       Zhan Weiyang nodded.

Pei Qing added, “So, I strongly disagree with you dating right now.”

Zhan Weiyang understood what Pei Qing meant. He felt that he couldn’t express his pain, and it was not him who wanted to date. He thought in a daze, “Then what should I do?”

“Don’t think about her. Maybe it will be fine in a week or two.”

After a week or two, Zhan Weiyang began to mentally calculate two points a day and how many points would be deducted in two weeks.

       Then he said, “No.”

Pei Qing looked at him in silence. After a while, he stood up and reached for the laptop on the table, “I don’t think you are in a good condition. Take some time to think about whether what you’re doing is right or not.” After that, he pushed the chair away and walked outside.

Zhan Weiyang looked at his back and called him, “Qing ge.”

       Pei Qing ignored him.

Zhan Weiyang saw that Pei Qing had left the room. He stood up and chased to the door. He only dared to lean out half of his body to watch Pei Qing return to his room and call out in a low voice, “Qing ge?”

Pei Qing still didn’t answer, so he opened his door and went in, closing the door gently.

Until he was lying on the bed, Zhan Weiyang was still in a mess. He heard the female voice reporting daily scores: “User’s score today: 46 points.”

He suddenly became even more depressed.

As a result, Zhan Weiyang couldn’t sleep. Losing points was secondary; the main issue was that Pei Qing was not happy. He felt that he should apologize to Pei Qing.

He thought about it until late at night, Zhan Weiyang finally made up his mind. He got up from the bed, put on his pyjamas and slippers, opened the door gently and walked towards Pei Qing’s room.

Pei Qing’s door was closed but not locked from the inside.

Zhan Weiyang turned the door handle very gently and took a look first.

There was no light in the room; Pei Qing was already asleep, and he could hear slight breathing. The light from the street lamp shone in from the window through the curtains, illuminating the outline of the entire room, including the person lying on the bed.

Zhan Weiyang quietly walked to the bed and bent down, trying hard to see Pei Qing’s face clearly in the dim light, but he could only see a vague outline and couldn’t tell whether he had his eyes closed.

He thought that he shouldn’t disturb Pei Qing’s sleep and that it was better to leave.

Zhan Weiyang, who was about to stand up straight, suddenly lost his balance and fell forward. He quickly reached out to support himself, and his hand happened to be pressed on Pei Qing’s chest.

Pei Qing opened his eyes all of a sudden, shining brightly in the darkness, and then grabbed Zhan Weiyang’s wrist.

He grabbed it too hard, and Zhan Weiyang let out a cry of pain.

Only then did Pei Qing realize that the person in front of him was Zhan Weiyang. He let go of his hand and called, “Yangyang?”

Zhan Weiyang quickly retracted his hand and rubbed his right wrist with his left hand.

Pei Qing sat up, raised her hand to turn on the desk lamp, frowned, and asked, “What are you doing so late?”

Zhan Weiyang rubbed his wrist while looking at Pei Qing.

Pei Qing had never experienced being slapped awake in the middle of the night. He sat at the head of the bed, trying to make his tone sound a bit gentler, and asked, “What’s wrong, Yangyang?”

       Zhan Weiyang said, “I’m sorry.”

Pei Qing closed his eyes and raised his head as if thinking for a while before he said, “You didn’t do anything to apologise for.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “But you are upset.”

Pei Qing looked at him, “Don’t you often make Zhan Weiguang upset?” He didn’t see Zhan Weiyang nervously apologize to Zhan Weiguang.

Zhan Weiyang said, “Zhan Weiguang is upset every day. This is the first time I’ve seen you upset.”

Pei Qing was silent for a moment before saying, “I’m not upset.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “You did; you ignored me when I called you just now.”

Pei Qing was so sleepy that he resisted yawning and said to Zhan Weiyang, “I’m not unhappy. I just care about you, and I am afraid that you will obsessed with trivial matters.”

Zhan Weiyang listened and asked after a while, “What trivial matters?”

Pei Qing’s tone was a little helpless, “I’m afraid that if that girl doesn’t accept you, you have to force yourself.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “But I have no choice.”

Pei Qing didn’t know what to say. He wanted to persuade Zhan Weiyang to go back to sleep. It was really too late, and he couldn’t help but want to close his eyes.

But Zhan Weiyang squatted down directly next to his bed at this time, holding the bed with his hands like a little hamster, looking up at him as if he wanted to have a long conversation, “Qing ge, there is something I want to talk to you about.”

Pei Qing closed his eyes. He wanted to lie down but couldn’t keep Zhan Weiyang squatting beside his bed. He could only say, “Do you want to talk to me?”

       Zhan Weiyang nodded.

Pei Qing asked, “How about you go and get the pillows and quilts, and we can lie down and talk?”

Zhan Weiyang said softly, “Ah”, and thought Pei Qing’s suggestion was very good. He quickly said, “Okay.” He immediately got up and ran outside.

Pei Qing fell down and covered his eyes with his arms. After a while, Zhan Weiyang came in with a quilt and pillow. He stood up and helped him put the pillow away. Then he lay down and reached out to turn off the lamp. He closed his eyes in the darkness and said in a slurred voice, “Go ahead.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “But I can’t tell you.”

       Pei Qing said nothing.

Zhan Weiyang waited for a while, then stretched out his hand to push Pei Qing gently, “Qing ge, are you asleep?”

       Pei Qing said, “I didn’t.”

Zhan Weiyang continued, “Don’t be upset, I will study hard.”

Pei Qing spoke with a strong nasal voice, “Hmm—”

Zhan Weiyang said, “It will be fine when I catch up with him, and then I will concentrate on studying and preparing for the college entrance examination.”

       Pei Qing said, “Hmm…”

Zhan Weiyang said, “Qing ge, you are really kind.”

       Pei Qing did not respond.

Zhan Weiyang turned over to face Pei Qing. He felt a lot more relaxed. He closed his eyes and whispered, “Good night.”

Chapter 7

Zhan Weiyang didn’t look like he had much of an appetite when he ate his dinner, and Grandma, worried about him, asked, “Is Yangyang not feeling well?”

“No,” Zhan Weiyang shook his head, lowered his head and took two mouthfuls of rice but soon returned to his listless look.

After dinner, Zhan Weiyang went outside the house, dug a small hole in the flower bed and buried all the ashes of the love letters in it. Then he took a small shovel and went to the sink to rinse it. After washing it, he placed it in a corner next to the sink where it could still get a little sunlight and then turned around and returned to the house.

Pei Qing was no longer in the living room on the first floor.

Grandma was sitting on the sofa and watching TV. There was the sound of water running in the kitchen. It was Auntie Luo who was washing the dishes after eating.

Zhan Weiyang was covered in sweat. He walked to the large refrigerator in the dining room, opened the freezer drawer, and took out an ice cream. When he was about to tear off the wrapping paper, he hesitated and took another one, holding it with his fingers. He took two ice creams and went up to the second floor.

Pei Qing’s bedroom next door to Zhan Weiyang’s was originally a vacant guest room at home.

Zhan Weiyang walked to the door of Pei Qing’s room and saw that the door was ajar, leaving a crack. He knocked on the door and heard no sound from inside, so he reached out and pushed the door open a little to look inside.

The lights and air conditioner were on in the room, but no one was there.

Zhan Weiyang turned back to look in the direction of the bathroom. He saw that the bathroom door was closed. When he listened carefully, he could hear some noise. He thought that Pei Qing must be taking a shower, so he planned to return to his room first.

After taking two steps, Zhan Weiyang lifted the ice cream he was holding to take a look, then turned and returned to Pei Qing’s room. He opened the door and walked in, putting the ice cream on the bedside table.

Because it was originally a guest room, this room did not have a desk or bookcase, only a double bed, two bedside tables and a row of wardrobes attached to the wall.

However, there was a bay window in the room. There were a few books on the windowsill and a small table that could be placed on the bed with a laptop on it.

This room had the same orientation as Zhan Weiyang’s room. From the window, he could see the small garden downstairs. It also happened to be facing the west, and the sun was still shining through the window at this time.

After Zhan Weiyang put the ice cream down, he poked it through the wrapping paper with his fingers and felt that the ice cream was a little soft. He quickly opened his own piece, raised the ice cream up, raised his head and took a deep sip from the lower corner.

When he lowered his head, he saw Pei Qing standing at the door of the room.

Zhan Weiyang suddenly felt a little nervous. He pointed to the ice cream on the bedside and said, “Qing ge, have some ice cream.”

Pei Qing was not particularly surprised to see Zhan Weiyang. He had just taken a shower and was wearing a pair of shorts. Hearing Zhan Weiyang’s words, he smiled and said, “Thank you”, then closed the door and walked in.

Zhan Weiyang was wondering if he should go out. The ice cream in his hand was about to drip again, so he quickly held it in his mouth.

But Pei Qing had already opened the wardrobe and started to get dressed with his back to him.

Zhan Weiyang secretly looked at Pei Qing while sipping ice cream.

Pei Qing had a good figure, with smooth muscle lines from arms to shoulders, which was the perfect transition from boy to young man. The waist looked narrow, lean and strong, with a concave ridge in the middle and a beautiful arc from waist to hip. He also had a pair of straight and slender legs, and his body shape was just right.

When Pei Qing was getting dressed, Zhan Weiyang was worried that the ice cream would melt, so he took the initiative to remove the wrapping paper for him and handed it to him when he was finished getting dressed.

Pei Qing lowered his head, took the ice cream in his mouth first, and then reached out to take it. He sucked in the melted liquid on it and said, “Thank you.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “I’m going back first.”

Pei Qing said, “Sit a little longer.”

Zhan Weiyang couldn’t tell that it was Pei Qing being polite casually. He was stunned for a moment and returned to the bay window, sitting down with his legs leaning on the window sill.

Pei Qing also sat down next to the bed and ate ice cream with Zhan Weiyang facing each other.

       Zhan Weiyang said nothing.

Pei Qing had to ask, “Do you have a lot of homework today?”

Zhan Weiyang shook his head. He had already submitted today’s homework in the afternoon. For the evening, the teacher asked them to preview tomorrow’s lesson. He brought back a workbook; it wasn’t for submission, but the teacher would randomly check it every week. Zhan Weiyang planned to find time to finish the week’s exercises.

Pei Qing said, “Then do you want to take a bath first? After taking a bath, I will go over and study with you.”

       Zhan Weiyang nodded, “Okay.”

Pei Qing finished the ice cream quickly, but Zhan Weiyang still habitually licked the surface of the ice cream flat.

When he saw Pei Qing finished eating, he hurried over and stretched out a hand to Pei Qing.

Pei Qing lowered his eyes and saw that Zhan Weiyang’s palm was white and clean, with delicate skin. In fact, he was not sure what Zhan Weiyang meant, but he subconsciously put the small wood chip in Zhan Weiyang’s hand.

Zhan Weiyang took it naturally and helped him throw it into the trash can in the corner of the room. Finally, he put the last bit of ice cream on the wood chips into his mouth and said vaguely as he walked outside, “I’m going to take a shower. “

Pei Qing responded, “Okay, go quickly.”

Zhan Weiyang’s hands were sticky, so he washed them first, returned to the room, found a change of clothes, and went to the bathroom.

There was still thick water vapor in the bathroom from Pei Qing’s bath just now.

The bathroom on the second floor did not have a bathtub but only a shower room. The glass of the shower room was covered with water droplets. Zhan Weiyang took off all his clothes outside before entering the shower room barefoot and closing the glass door. The narrow space was filled with the scent of shower gel, which was exactly the same as the scent on Pei Qing just now.

He turned on the shower head and leaned against the corner of the shower room. He waited until the water was no longer so cold before standing under the water column. He closed his eyes and took a shower, thinking that although Pei Qing was not his older cousin, he was really kind to him. Yes, even better than Zhan Weiguang.

No wonder they all liked Pei Qing, and he also liked Pei Qing.

After he took a shower, Zhan Weiyang, wearing underwear, opened the bathroom door, looked around and saw no one, then ran back to his room to get dressed.

After getting dressed, he sat down in front of the desk. He turned his head and saw that the chair Pei Qing had pushed last night was still there, but Pei Qing hadn’t come over yet. He took the book out of his schoolbag, placed it on the table, and held the pen in his hand. He still didn’t wait for Pei Qing to come over.

Zhan Weiyang then got up and went to Pei Qing’s room again. He knocked on the door and shouted, “Qing ge?”

Pei Qing said, “Please come in.”

Zhan Weiyang pushed open the door and put his head in. He saw Pei Qing sitting by the bed, setting a small table on the bed and looking at the computer. So he said, “Qing ge, I’ve finished taking a shower.”

Pei Qing just raised his eyes and looked at him. When he looked back, he asked, “All clean?”

Zhan Weiyang was stunned for a moment, then whispered, “Washed clean.”

Pei Qing was reading an English document. When he was concentrating, he said casually, “Really?”

Zhan Weiyang hesitated for a while, then opened the door and came in, walked to Pei Qing’s bedside and said, “Really.”

       Pei Qing responded casually, “Okay.”

Zhan Weiyang stood aside, waiting for him.

It was not until Pei Qing finished reading the entire article and raised his hand to pull down the laptop screen that he raised his head and said to Zhan Weiyang, “Let’s go, I’ll accompany you to study.”

Tonight, Pei Qing took his laptop directly to Zhan Weiyang’s room, sat side by side with him in front of the desk, and asked Zhan Weiyang to read first. If he didn’t understand anything, he could ask him.

Zhan Weiyang first read through the content that the teacher will randomly check tomorrow and then took the exercise book to do the questions. Pei Qing, next to him, had never spoken to him. After completing two questions, he began to lose focus and turned his head to secretly look at Pei Qing’s computer screen.

The article on it was all in English, and the words he recognised were limited.

Pei Qing finished reading everything he wanted to read tonight, and then he took the time to talk to Zhan Weiyang. He asked, “You haven’t finished writing the love letter assigned by your teacher yet. Let’s continue today.”

Zhan Weiyang straightened his back suddenly.

Pei Qing’s tone was serious and calm, “It’s better not to procrastinate on your homework, especially when writing articles. You can’t pause for too long; otherwise, your train of thought will be interrupted. Just continue writing now.”

Zhan Weiyang tightened his grip on the pen, pursed his lips, and said, “I’ve finished writing.”

“Really?” Pei Qing said, “Show me.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “It has been handed over to the teacher.”

Pei Qing’s tone was still calm, “Okay, after the teacher has corrected it, show it to me. Can I get it tomorrow?”

Zhan Weiyang looked at him with a somewhat panicked expression.

Pei Qing leaned back in his chair and put one hand casually on the table. He smiled and asked Zhan Weiyang, “What’s wrong, Yangyang?”

       Zhan Weiyang said nothing.

Pei Qing said, “Don’t be afraid. I promised Uncle to watch over you during self-study and help you with your studies. I just want to do my best to fulfill Uncle’s request. It doesn’t matter if the essay is well-written or not; the key is to know how to improve. What do you think?”

       Zhan Weiyang was very confused.

Pei Qing raised his hand, touched Zhan Weiyang’s head very gently, and said, “I won’t blame you if I don’t write well.”

Zhan Weiyang suddenly felt a strong sense of guilt. He lowered his head and whispered, “That’s not homework.”

Pei Qing came closer, “What did you say?”

Zhan Weiyang said, “The love letter is not an assignment assigned by the teacher. It is something I want to write to others.”

Pei Qing looked stunned, “Oh, who is it for?”

Zhan Weiyang shook his head and stopped talking.

Chapter 6

Zhan Weiyang sat down and continued to write a love letter to Xie Ling. He was always thinking about the deduction of points in his mind and wrote a little absent-mindedly.

Pei Qing noticed it and saw that he was stumbling every word as he wrote, so he said, “If you’re not in a hurry, just write it tomorrow.”

Zhan Weiyang said immediately, “There is no rush.”

Pei Qing stood up and said to Zhan Weiyang, “Then I’m going back to the room; you go to bed early.”

Zhan Weiyang also stood up and watched Pei Qing return to the bedside to pick up his book. He waited until he walked to the door and said, “Thank you, Qing ge.”

Pei Qing smiled and said, “You’re welcome. Good night.” After that, he walked out and closed the door for him.

Zhan Weiyang immediately sat down and saw that he had almost written more than half of the homework paper. He hesitated for a while and added the words Xie Ling at the beginning, and then added, “I like you. Can you be my boyfriend?” in the last row. My mobile phone number is: 138XXXXXXXX, you can add me on WeChat.” Then, he completed the first love letter in his life with a perfunctory attitude.

After he took a shower, he lay on the bed, getting ready to go to bed. Zhan Weiyang stared at the ceiling with his eyes open and whispered, “Are you there?”

       No respond.

He added, “Can you not deduct points from me? I was joking.”

       Still no response.

Zhan Weiyang turned over and reached out to turn off the lamp on the bedside table. At the same time, he heard the voice telling him, “The user’s score today: 48 points.”

The light in the room suddenly went out and fell into darkness. Zhan Weiyang simultaneously pulled the quilt over his head, buried his whole body under the quilt, and sighed softly.

When he went to school the next day, Zhan Weiyang got off the bus and ran to the stationery store opposite the school to buy an envelope.

He looked at the stationery store for a long time and found that there were so many colourful envelopes with various laces and patterns. Seeing that there were no other students in the store, he secretly chose a pink one with a small heart on it. He went to the boss to check out sheepishly, then stuffed the envelope into his schoolbag and ran towards the school gate.

While studying in the morning, Zhan Weiyang stuffed the love letter he had written into the envelope. He found that he had no glue, so he borrowed correction tape from the girl at the same table to seal the envelope.

His deskmate, Zhou Hanyi, usually didn’t talk to him very much, but today, she couldn’t help but come over and ask him what he was doing.

Zhan Weiyang quickly stuffed the envelope into the desk drawer to prevent Zhou Hanyi from seeing it.

When the self-study class was over, Zhan Weiyang kicked the chair in front of him, trying to get Chen Youyou’s attention.

Chen Youyou turned around with an unhappy look on his face and asked him, “What are you doing?”

Zhan Weiyang lay on the desk, approached Chen Youyou, lowered his voice and said to him, “I have written a love letter to Xie Ling. Will you help me give it to him?”

Chen Youyou refused without thinking, “I won’t.” After saying that, he turned back and rummaged through the drawer for his new physics question book.

Zhan Weiyang kicked his chair again.

       Chen Youyou ignored him.

       Zhan Weiyang continued to play.

Chen Youyou turned around suddenly this time and said in an impatient tone, “What, what are you doing?”

His voice was a little loud, and many people in the classroom heard it. Immediately, some boys laughed, imitated him, and said, “No, no what not.”

Chen Youyou’s expression immediately turned a bit unpleasant. He remained silent, burying his head without saying a word. Zhan Weiyang dared not speak either, and the two sat in silence, facing each other for a while.

The class bell rang at this time, and Chen Youyou stretched out his hand to Zhan Weiyang before the teacher entered the classroom, “Bring it here.”

Zhan Weiyang immediately handed him the envelope.

Chen Youyou said, “Go at noon.” After saying that, he turned around, looked down at the pink envelope, and stuffed it into his drawer.

At noon, most students had lunch in the school cafeteria. After eating, students who lived in the school could return to the dormitory to nap. Day students go back to the classroom to rest on their desks. Some very energetic students would go to the playground to play ball at noon.

During lunch, Chen Youyou asked Zhan Weiyang, “Why can’t, you give it to him, yourself?”

Zhan Weiyang was opposite Chen Youyou, and the two of them were sitting in the corner of the cafeteria against the wall. The tables in the cafeteria were all four-person tables with fixed tables and chairs. There was an eight-person table with two tables put together in the middle. Zhan Weiyang and Chen Youyou always liked to sit near the wall because the two seats against the wall were inconvenient to enter, so as long as they sat down, no one would usually come to share a table with them.

Zhan Weiyang’s situation was slightly better. Chen Youyou was often laughed at because of his stutter, so he never liked to associate with other boys in the class.

Hearing Chen Youyou’s question at this time, Zhan Weiyang mixed the tomato scrambled eggs and rice with a spoon on the dinner plate and said, “I’m a little scared.”

Chen Youyou said, “Scared of what?”

       Zhan Weiyang didn’t answer.

Chen Youyou said of him, “You dare to chase a man, but don’t dare to send a love letter?”

Zhan Weiyang still didn’t speak, silently scooping up a spoonful of rice and putting it into his mouth.

After a while, Chen Youyou suddenly said to Zhan Weiyang, “Xie Ling.”

Zhan Weiyang turned around and saw Xie Ling walking towards the cafeteria door from the aisle next to their dining table. The two of them looked up at Xie Ling at the same time, but Xie Ling did not turn his head to look at them until he passed by them.

He was also wearing a school uniform, a white T-shirt with a blue collar, and a pair of blue trousers on her legs. Xie Ling looked better than others when he wore it, and he had a sassy youthful atmosphere.

There were two boys and one girl walking with Xie Ling.

The girl was small in stature and cute in appearance. When she passed by their table, she glanced at Zhan Weiyang and saw that Zhan Weiyang was also looking at her. She also smiled and winked at Zhan Weiyang.

When they passed by, Chen Youyou said, “Let’s go, stop eating, let’s see where, they go.” After that, he asked Zhan Weiyang to take the dinner plate to the recycling place and hurriedly chased Xie Ling and the others away.

After Xie Ling finished lunch, he went to the playground with the two boys to play ball for a while.

Zhan Weiyang and Chen Youyou hid in a dark corner where the sun couldn’t shine, watching him from a distance. Chen Youyou folded the envelope and put it in the pocket of his school uniform. When he was folding it, Zhan Weiyang opened his mouth and held back without stopping him. Now, when he took it out, except for the creases, the pink envelope paper was soaked with Chen Youyou’s sweat.

Zhan Weiyang glanced at the envelope and then at Chen Youyou.

Chen Youyou wiped the sweat on his face with his hand and said with some embarrassment, “It’s too hot.”

Zhan Weiyang thought about it, felt that he was right, and nodded.

Xie Ling probably just wanted to do some exercise after dinner. After lazily shooting basketballs for a while, he threw the ball to his classmates and walked towards the direction of the school building by himself.

Zhan Weiyang saw Xie Ling coming over and stretched out his hand to push Chen Youyou.

Chen Youyou hurriedly ran in the direction of Xie Ling until he stood in front of Xie Ling, blocking Xie Ling’s way.

Zhan Weiyang saw the two of them talking but couldn’t hear what they were saying. He only saw Xie Ling shaking his head, bypassing Chen Youyou and trying to continue walking forward.

Chen Youyou refused to give up, forced the envelope into Xie Ling’s hand, then turned around and ran away.

Xie Ling frowned and looked down at the envelope in his hand for a while, then continued walking forward.

Chen Youyou had already run back to Zhan Weiyang, and the two of them looked at Xie Ling’s back under the tree.

Xie Ling walked to the exit of the playground, casually tossing the envelope into the nearby trash bin. Without looking back, he continued walking forward.

Chen Youyou was startled and turned his head to look at Zhan Weiyang.

Zhan Weiyang was stunned and asked Chen Youyou, “Did you tell him it was me?”

Chen Youyou said, “Y-you didn’t say what was written in the letter, I didn’t, say anything, just said, it was a friend of mine.” He was really embarrassed to tell Xie Ling in person that it was a love letter from a boy, so he thought that it was okay to let Xie Ling misunderstand that it was a girl for the time being.

Zhan Weiyang didn’t say anything anymore and walked forward alone until he walked to the trash can, opened the lid, and picked up the pink envelope that fell on top.

The envelope was soaked with Chen Youyou’s sweat, and part of the pale pink was turned into rose red, and Xie Ling’s name on it was also blurred.

Zhan Weiyang took the bad-looking love letter and looked back at Chen Youyou, who was following him. In fact, there was no expression on his face, except that the corners of his eyes and mouth were slightly drooped, and a drop of sweat fell down just past the corners of his eyes.

Chen Youyou suddenly felt that he was aggrieved and felt uncomfortable in his heart, and said, “Forget it, X-Xie Ling didn’t have a good taste. Let’s next, let’s chase a girl next time, I-I will help you write a love letter, o-okay?”

Zhan Weiyang said ‘En’ softly, folded the envelopes and put them into the pocket of his school uniform pants.

After school in the afternoon, Zhan Weiyang bought a lighter at the small supermarket in front of the school. He rode his bicycle home, squatted down by the flower stand in front of his home, lit the lighter and burned the letter.

When it was halfway burning, Zhan Weiyang heard Pei Qing’s voice behind him, “What are you burning?”

He turned around suddenly and glanced at Pei Qing in panic. He then turned back and saw that even the writing on the envelope was not burned. He breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Scrap paper.”

Pei Qing clearly saw the remaining half of the envelope but said nothing. After Zhan Weiyang burned the entire envelope, he deliberately asked, “It’s not a report card, right?”

Zhan Weiyang stood up, patted the dust on his hands, and said, “No, there are no exams yet. The school has just started.” He looked up at Pei Qing and asked, “Qing ge is done with work?”

Pei Qing nodded, “Yeah, I just came back.”

Chapter 5

As soon as Pei Qing looked up, he found that Zhan Weiyang was peeking at him with his mobile phone camera. He just glanced over calmly, pretended not to see anything, lowered his head and continued reading.

Zhan Weiyang was rustling on his side, holding his cell phone to reply to a message. Then he put the cell phone aside, picked up a pen and started working on the questions attentively.

This time, he was really focused. Although he didn’t know whether he got it right or not, at least he answered one question after another.

Teachers often said that no matter whether they could answer the question correctly or not during the exam, they must write something so that the teacher marking could give them points. Zhan Weiyang remembered this sentence very well.

From time to time, the sound of Pei Qing turning the pages of a book could be heard behind him.

Pei Qing was reading seriously. He would occasionally look up at Zhan Weiyang. Ever since he caught Zhan Weiyang peeking at him with his cell phone, Zhan Weiyang had been burying his head doing questions.

Zhan Weiyang’s grades were not good; this was what Zhan Weiguang had told him before. In the three years since Pei Qing’s father remarried Zhan Weiyang’s aunt, he had only seen Zhan Weiyang during the Chinese New Year and almost never communicated.

At first, he thought Zhan Weiyang was introverted, but when he moved into their home this time, he realized that Zhan Weiyang was actually a bit slow.

He heard that Zhan Pengcheng started from scratch and was very good at doing business. He worked hard from being a small boss to now having a good-sized company. Zhan Weiguang was also smart. He went to the same high school as Zhan Weiyang. At that time, he was a popular figure in the school. He had good grades and was good at sports. He was also good-looking. He was admitted to a prestigious university in a first-tier city in the college entrance examination.

       Why was Zhan Weiyang slow?

Pei Qing couldn’t figure it out and didn’t ask. In the end, his surname was not Zhan, and he had no blood relationship with the Zhan family. He was not as friendly in his heart as he looked on the outside.

He would have planned to rent a house if it hadn’t been for his father and stepmother’s insistence. Not only would living in other people’s homes cause trouble to others, but his own life would also be inconvenient.

Pei Qing turned the page of the book in his hand and raised his head to look at Zhan Weiyang. Zhan Weiyang was poking his head with the cap of his pen sadly, as if he could get the answer to the question with just a poke. Pei Qing lowered his gaze, hesitated a little, put the book aside, stood up, walked behind Zhan Weiyang, and asked, “Do you need help?”

Zhan Weiyang was startled by Pei Qing’s sudden voice. He looked back and subconsciously pushed the book to the side so that Pei Qing could see the title clearly.

There was no second chair in the room, so Pei Qing could only bend down and get close to Zhan Weiyang to read the question.

High school math questions were not that simple, but Pei Qing was good at these questions. He took the scratch paper on the table and the pen to explain to Zhan Weiyang how to solve the problem.

Zhan Weiyang listened very carefully and kept nodding.

After Pei Qing finished speaking, he handed the pen back to Zhan Weiyang. When Zhan Weiyang started to write the answers, he stood aside and looked at the homework in front of him. He found that Zhan Weiyang had made more than one question wrong.

But after Zhan Weiyang finished the question, he didn’t ask him anything, so he walked away silently, returned to the bed and sat down to continue reading his book.

By the time Zhan Weiyang finished the homework assigned by the teacher, it was already completely dark.

He put down his pen and stretched. He stood up and walked to the window to take a look outside. He raised his hand to close the curtains. When he came back to sit down at the desk, Zhan Weiyang took out a new exercise book from the drawer. Tear off two pages of paper, carefully spread them out on the table, and solemnly pick up the pen to write a love letter to Xie Ling.

When Zhan Weiyang was about to write the words ‘Xie Ling’ in the upper left corner, he hesitated and decided to leave it blank first, so he left two spaces at the beginning of the line and wrote ‘Hello’ directly and then he couldn’t continue writing.

He was not Chen Youyou. He didn’t do his homework well at all. Every time he wrote an essay for an exam, he would rather die than write.

Zhan Weiyang put down his pen and looked back at Pei Qing.

Pei Qing quickly noticed his gaze and looked up at him, “What’s wrong?”

Zhan Weiyang said hesitantly, “The teacher also assigned an essay today.”

Pei Qing looked at the homework paper he tore off and spread out on the table, smiled slightly, and asked in a gentle tone, “What is it about?”

Zhan Weiyang said, “Writing a love letter.”

Pei Qing’s expression didn’t change at all; he just smiled and said, “Does a Chinese teacher in the second year assign homework to write love letters?”

Zhan Weiyang nodded, “How should I write it? I have never written it before.”

Pei Qing put the book aside and stood up slowly. He walked to Zhan Weiyang, looked down at the word ‘Hello’ written on his homework paper, and asked, “Do you need me to teach you how to write?”

Zhan Weiyang said softly, “Thank you, Qing ge.”

Pei Qing nodded and said, “Wait a moment.”

He left Zhan Weiyang’s room, pushed a chair over from his own room, sat down next to Zhan Weiyang, then stared at Zhan Weiyang’s homework paper and asked, “Who are you writing to?”

Zhan Weiyang said, “There is no one, just an imaginary object.”

Pei Qing glanced at him, “Then what kind of girl is the object of your imagination?”

Zhan Weiyang did not answer immediately. He collected his thoughts before saying, “Tall, good-looking girl with good grades.”

Pei Qing said, “Do you like girls with good grades?”

Zhan Weiyang suddenly felt the need to explain. He said, “It’s not that I like it. That’s how it’s required.”

Pei Qing didn’t understand what he said and asked, “Is it the requirement for homework?”

       Zhan Weiyang nodded.

Pei Qing then said, “Okay then. Does she know you?”

       Zhan Weiyang said, “Don’t know.”

Pei Qing tapped Zhan Weiyang’s homework paper with his slender fingers, “Then let’s start with self-introduction.”

Zhan Weiyang lowered his head and exposed the white section of the back of his neck above his collar. He was holding the pen a little hard and wrote word by word, “I am Zhan Weiyang, Class 3, Grade 2, 17 years old. I am 174 centimetres tall, Aries, blood type B.”

After he finished writing, he looked up at Pei Qing and asked, “Is this okay?”

Pei Qing held his forehead with one hand, watched him finish writing in silence, and said, “It doesn’t need to be so detailed.”

Zhan Weiyang was a little at a loss.

Pei Qing noticed that he was a little nervous, so he patted his shoulder gently and said, “It’s okay, go ahead. You can write about how you first met her and how you felt at that time.”

Zhan Weiyang then continued to write, “I met you at the school gate this morning. I thought you were very good-looking, and then I listened to your speech, and your voice was also very nice.” He raised his head, frowned and thought for a while, and he also wrote, “You have good grades, and I think you are very good.”

Pei Qing saw this and asked him, “Do you like her just because of this?”

Zhan Weiyang said, “I don’t like him.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he heard the cold female voice suddenly say: “The relationship status has been negatively enhanced, and 2 points have been deducted.”

Zhan Weiyang suddenly stood up from the chair and looked at Pei Qing in panic.

Pei Qing looked at him in surprise, “What’s wrong?”

Zhan Weiyang said urgently, “I like him.”

Pei Qing lowered his eyelashes to cover up the inexplicable feeling towards Zhan Weiyang in his eyes, showed a gentle smile and said, “If you like her, then you like her, don’t be nervous.”

Zhan Weiyang was obviously still nervous. He was talking to System in his head: I like him, don’t deduct points from me.

It’s a pity that the System ignored him.

Pei Qing saw that he was standing, stretched out a hand to him and said, “Yangyang, come sit down, let’s continue writing.” He had called him Weiyang before, but this was the first time he had called Weiyang like how his father and grandma called him, Yangyang. He wanted to appease Zhan Weiyang’s emotions.

Zhan Weiyang looked at Pei Qing’s hands. Pei Qing’s hands were as beautiful as his own, with slender fingers and clear joints. There was a thin layer of calluses on the palms and fingertips.

The hand patiently stretched out to Zhan Weiyang, waiting for him. Zhan Weiyang calmed down, took Pei Qing’s hand, and returned to the desk to sit down.

Pei Qing immediately withdrew his hand, pointed to his homework paper, and said, “Keep writing.”

Notes:
In chinese he/him is 他 (ta), she/her 她 (ta), that’s why when Pei Qing and Zhan Weiyang talking, Pei Qing didn’t realised that Zhan Weiyang was talking about a male friend and the fact that he didn’t write the name creates further misunderstanding

Chapter 4

Chen Youyou’s seat was in the row in front of Zhan Weiyang. In the first half of last semester, the two of them were sitting at the same table. Later, the homeroom teacher discovered that the two of them were always talking in class, so the teacher separated the two. Although the distance was not far, it was always inconvenient to chat in class.

They changed the time for chatting to between classes.

Chen Youyou turned around, sat astride the chair and talked to Zhan Weiyang. He said, “Are you crazy?” He had a habit of speaking, and when his sentences were slightly longer, he would pause where he couldn’t help but stutter. to avoid repeating the previous word.

Chen Youyou turned around, straddled the chair, and spoke to Zhan Weiyang. He said, “Are, you crazy?” He had a habit of pausing slightly when his sentences were a bit longer if he couldn’t help but stutter to avoid repeating the previous word.

Zhan Weiyang frowned slightly. He felt that he was not crazy. It was a request from the System, and it was not what he wanted to do. However, he could not explain it to Chen Youyou. If he really explained it, Chen Youyou would still think he was crazy.

Chen Youyou said again, “That Xie Ling, isn’t, he a boy?”

       Zhan Weiyang replied, “Yes.”

Chen Youyou said, “Are you gay?”

Zhan Weiyang was not very happy, “I’m not.”

Chen Youyou said, “M-man who l-likes another man, isn’t, he gay?” He couldn’t care less about his stuttering and couldn’t help but be curious.

Zhan Weiyang retorted, “I don’t like him. I just want to pursue him.”

Chen Youyou looked at him incomprehensibly, “Why?”

Zhan Weiyang still couldn’t explain it. He raised a hand to support his face and said with some distress, “Don’t ask about this. Just help me think about whether there is a way?”

Chen Youyou was not stupid at all. His brain was much more flexible than his mouth, but he just could not express himself fully in words. His grades were good in all subjects, especially in Chinese and English. He was particularly good at writing essays. Perhaps it was because he could not express with his mouth that he used words to convey his emotions.

At this time, Chen Youyou couldn’t understand what Zhan Weiyang was thinking at all, but they had been classmates in high school for a year, and he had never really understood Zhan Weiyang, so he casually said, “Just go, change, your gender first.”

Zhan Weiyang looked at Chen Youyou with his round, dark eyes.

Chen Youyou said, “I think Xie Ling likes, girls. He won’t like you. You, go ahead, and change yourself.”

Zhan Weiyang answered him seriously, “I don’t think it’s possible. My father won’t agree.”

Chen Youyou nodded, with a serious look on his face, “True.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “What should we do?”

Chen Youyou’s voice was sonorous and powerful, “Give up.”

After school in the afternoon, Zhan Weiyang rode a shared bicycle home on the roadside. He rode so fast that the wind poured in from the sleeves of his short-sleeved school uniform, blowing the clothes on his back to bulge.

He parked the bike at the entrance of the neighbourhood; Zhan Weiyang took out his mobile phone while walking inside. He took another look at Xie Ling’s back and couldn’t help but sigh softly.

When he returned home, Zhan Weiyang saw that Pei Qing had returned and was standing in the living room talking to Grandma.

He didn’t know why he was a little afraid of Pei Qing. Maybe Zhan Pengcheng told Pei Qing to help look after him before he left, which made him subconsciously feel that Pei Qing would take care of him, just like an elder in the family.

Pei Qing turned around and saw him, smiled slightly, and said, “Weiyang is back? Come and have a meal.”

Auntie Luo put all the food on the table. Zhan Weiyang threw his schoolbag on the sofa and only had time to wash his hands before sitting down at the dining table to have dinner.

While eating, Grandma asked Zhan Weiyang, “What did Yangyang eat at school for lunch?”

Zhan Weiyang said, “Shredded green peppers and potatoes and pork strips stir-fried with yuxiang.” He usually ate in the school cafeteria at noon and didn’t come home to eat until after school in the afternoon.

Auntie Luo said, “The food in the school cafeteria is not delicious. It’s just a stewed dish.”

Zhan Weiyang didn’t say anything. He thought it was actually quite delicious. After eating in silence for a while, he couldn’t help but raise his head and glance at Pei Qing. Pei Qing had already finished eating and had just put down his chopsticks. He looked up and noticed Zhan Weiyang’s gaze, so he smiled at Zhan Weiyang. As a result, Zhan Weiyang immediately buried his head and continued to eat.

After dinner, Zhan Weiyang picked up his schoolbag and went upstairs. He heard Pei Qing’s footsteps on the stairs. He couldn’t help but didn’t turn around to look. He quickened his pace and ran up to the second floor. He returned to his room and closed the door.

Zhan Weiyang walked to the desk and sat down.

At this time, the sun had not completely set. It shone in through the window, making half of Zhan Weiyang’s face slightly red. He unzipped the schoolbag on his lap, took out two books from it, and then put the schoolbag next to him, opening a book out in front of him.

Then, Zhan Weiyang picked up his mobile phone and sent a message to Chen Youyou, “Do you think I could write him a love letter?”

Chen Youyou was probably still eating dinner at this time and did not answer him immediately.

Zhan Weiyang wanted to take another look at Xie Ling’s photo. As soon as he found it in the photo album on his mobile phone, he suddenly heard a knock on the door.

He felt nervous and quickly put the phone on the desk, turned around, stared in the direction of the door and said, “Please come in.”

The door opened slightly, and Pei Qing stood at the door, holding a small plate with fruit in his hand, and said, “Auntie Luo asked me to bring it to you.”

As he said that, he walked to Zhan Weiyang and put the plate on the desk.

Zhan Weiyang looked up at him and said, “Thank you.”

Pei Qing glanced at the textbooks spread out on Zhan Weiyang’s desk and said to him, “You should rest for a while and eat some fruit. I’ll take a shower and then come to accompany you to study.”

Zhan Weiyang’s eyes widened instantly, and he said, “Oh.”

Pei Qing smiled again, turned around and walked outside, closing the door for him when he went out.

Zhan Weiyang began to eat the fruit nonchalantly. He took off his slippers, raised his feet and sat cross-legged on a chair. When he ate two pieces of apple, he reached for the signature pen in the pen holder on the table with difficulty. With one hand holding the apple and the other holding the pen, he began to work on the exercises assigned by the teacher at the back of the textbook.

When Zhan Weiyang finished eating all the fruits on the plate, Pei Qing came over after taking a bath.

Pei Qing had changed into a new outfit, wearing a loose short-sleeved T-shirt and long cotton pyjama pants. With a slight cool mist, he had a professional book in his hand when he came in.

He walked all the way to the table, stood next to Zhan Weiyang, and looked down at the book he had spread out in front of him.

Zhan Weiyang’s textbook was still very clean; not a word had been written.

Pei Qing put a hand on Zhan Weiyang’s shoulder and said, “It’s okay, take your time.”

Zhan Weiyang noticed that Pei Qing’s palms were very warm. He nodded stiffly and stared at the book in front of him without looking up.

Pei Qing quickly retracted his hand, left him and sat on the edge of his bed to start reading.

Zhan Weiyang held a pen and looked at the question for a long time without being able to write anything. Then he couldn’t help but secretly take his phone over, turn on the self-portrait mode of the camera, and point the lens in the direction of Pei Qing behind him.

Pei Qing lowered his head and was reading seriously.

Zhan Weiyang wanted to put the phone back, but suddenly, a message tone sounded, and a message notification popped up at the top of the screen. Chen Youyou actually replied to him with two words at this time, “You can.”

Notes:
Chen Youyou usually stutters when he speaks sometimes and I’m not sure if he stutters or just paused his sentences, but I will try to create some balance on it while praying his part appeared less and less *cough*

Chapter 3

Zhan Pengcheng and Zhan Weiguang left one after the other.

Every night before Zhan Weiyang went to bed, he heard that cold female voice telling him, “User’s score today: 50 points.”

He thought glumly, Why did the initial score become so low? It would definitely upset Zhan Pengcheng if he found out.

This condition lasted until Zhan Weiyang officially started school.

He set two alarm clocks in the morning. Not long after the first one rang, he was about to fall asleep again. Before the second alarm clock rang, Auntie Luo knocked on the door outside and called him loudly, “Weiyang, get up. You’re going to be late!”

Zhan Weiyang struggled to open his eyes.

Auntie Luo had an imposing manner that wouldn’t relent until Zhan Weiyang got up and opened the door. She knocked on the door forcefully, making a loud banging sound, “Today is the first day of class; you can’t be late!”

Zhan Weiyang could only reply loudly, “I’m up!”

Auntie Luo did not continue to knock on the door but shouted at the door, “I’ll give you ten minutes. I’ll knock on the door again if you don’t come down for breakfast.”

       Zhan Weiyang said, “Right away!”

He lifted the blanket, got out of bed, and opened the wardrobe to take out the school uniform he hadn’t worn for the entire summer vacation. He put it on slowly, then, half-squinting, opened the door and headed towards the bathroom.

Zhan Weiyang was brushing his teeth in the bathroom, then lazily poured cold water on his face and used it to wash. However, when the cold water hit him, he became more awake. After washing and peeing, Zhan Weiyang came out of the bathroom, and the steps back to the room became faster.

After folding the quilt first and then packing his schoolbag, it was exactly ten minutes when Zhan Weiyang went downstairs. He saw only his grandma sitting at the dining table. She was wearing a thin sweater over her short-sleeved coat, with her hands in the sleeves. The table in front of her was empty, apparently, she was waiting for Zhan Weiyang.

Auntie Luo brought milk, eggs and steamed buns from the kitchen and placed them in front of Zhan Weiyang, urging him, “Eat quickly, don’t be late.”

Zhan Weiyang quickly picked up the buns with chopsticks and stuffed them into his mouth.

Grandma said, “Eat slowly, eat slowly, don’t choke.”

Zhan Weiyang glanced back at the living room, then turned back with the bun in his mouth and asked, “Where’s Qing ge?”

Auntie Luo habitually wiped the not-dirty dining table with a rag and said, “Qing ge doesn’t go to work until nine o’clock. He can’t get up that early.”

       Zhan Weiyang said, “Oh”.

Grandma said, “Yangyang, study hard. In a few years, you will be able to sleep in when you go to university.”

Zhan Weiyang didn’t know what to say, so he just nodded. By the time he finished eating the buns, Auntie Luo had already eagerly peeled off the egg shells for him. He was eating eggs and drinking milk at the same time. He was so anxious that he choked. He raised his hand to pat his chest and put down the bowl. He stood up and said, “I’m going to school.”

Auntie Luo said, “Go quickly, go quickly.”

Grandma waved her hand, “Be safe on the road.”

Zhan Weiyang grabbed the schoolbag that was thrown on the chair next to him, slung the strap over one shoulder, and hurriedly walked to the door to change his shoes.

Auntie Luo walked him to the door and stood by to watch him change his shoes. When he went out, she still said, “Hurry up, don’t be late.”

Zhan Weiyang had no choice but to start running. He ran through a garden, slowed down and looked back. He found that Auntie Luo could no longer be seen, so he continued to slow down and walk forward.

His mobile phone was in the trouser pocket of his school uniform. There were still forty minutes until class. He was still early and would not be late.

After squeezing into the bus at the gate of the neighbourhood, Zhan Weiyang found several students wearing their school uniforms on the bus. The school was not far from home, and it only took more than ten minutes by bus. Sometimes, Zhan Weiyang also rode a bicycle, which took about the same amount of time as catching the bus.

He stood in the middle corner of the bus, took out his mobile phone from his trousers pocket, and began to send a message to Chen Youyou: “When will you arrive at school?”

When the bus arrived at the next stop, Chen Youyou didn’t reply to him. He had no choice but to stuff his cell phone into his trouser pocket and squeeze himself into the corner with the flow of people getting on the bus.

The phone was pressed against his thigh through a thin layer of fabric. If Chen Youyou responded to a message, it would vibrate, and he would know it.

Zhan Weiyang has been thinking about Beginner’s Love System these days. Before he went to bed last night, he was thinking that the first person he met at the entrance to the school today would be the one he was going to pursue, and he wondered what kind of person it would be. He suddenly remembered the tall and strong boy in Class 7. The boy glared at him fiercely in the corridor last time. If the first person he met were that kind of person, it would be difficult to pursue him. Or maybe if it was their class monitor, a very beautiful girl whose boyfriend was the president of the school student union, and it would be hard for him to pursue her.

So he thought it would be great if that person were Chen Youyou. Chen Youyou was his good friend. It would be much easier to pursue him, and maybe he would get full marks soon.

It was a pity that Chen Youyou never responded to his message.

The closer the bus got to the school platform, the more students got on, and the entire bus was already full. Zhan Weiyang was not short, but he was still squeezed to the left and right. After finally reaching a stop in front of the school, the bus’s back door opened, and all the students who had just started the new semester flowed out.

When he got off the bus, a girl was squeezed and almost fell down. Zhan Weiyang quickly reached out to support her. The girl blushed and thanked him.

Zhan Weiyang shook his head, pulled the shoulder strap of his schoolbag, put his hands in his pants pockets and walked toward the school gate.

There were people coming and going at the school gate. In addition to students, there were many parents dropping off their children. The driveway at the school gate was occupied by all kinds of cars. Traffic police rode their motorbikes to direct the traffic in front of the school, telling the parents to drive their cars away quickly.

Zhan Weiyang stopped at the school gate and took out his mobile phone for the last time, but still didn’t see Chen Youyou’s reply.

He looked around and saw people everywhere. All he heard in his ears were noisy conversations. The sun had come out, clinging to the last trace of summer heat. He couldn’t help but squint his eyes. He thought that maybe he shouldn’t cheat; maybe the System knew.

So Zhan Weiyang took a deep breath, walked to the school gate, lowered his head and walked straight in without looking at anyone.

He took five steps in total, counting silently in his mind before he bumped into someone else. He quickly raised his head and saw in front of him a tall, handsome young man, also wearing a school uniform, with the corners of his mouth pursed at a slightly serious angle.

Zhan Weiyang heard a ‘ding’ in his head, and the female voice said to him: “The capture target has been confirmed.”

The young man glanced at him, turned around and walked towards the school.

Zhan Weiyang stood there and took a moment to react. He took his mobile phone out of his pocket and took a photo of the young man’s back to fix his target.

Not long after that day, Zhan Weiyang found out that the young man’s name was Xie Ling, and he was a freshman in the school. During the opening ceremony, Xie Ling spoke on the podium on behalf of all the freshman students. He introduced his name to all the students in the school.

Next to Zhan Weiyang stood Chen Youyou.

Chen Youyou sounds like a girl’s name, but the person was actually a boy, about the same height as Zhan Weiyang, and very thin. During the summer vacation, his mother took me to the barbershop to get a haircut because there was chewing gum stuck in his hair, and his hair hadn’t grown out yet.

Zhan Weiyang and Chen Youyou looked up at Xie Ling on the podium at the same time.

After a while, Zhan Weiyang lowered his voice and called Chen Youyou, “Chen Youyou.”

Chen Youyou turned to look at him, “Huh?”

Zhan Weiyang hesitated for a while and then said, “Look at that Xie Ling.”

Chen Youyou’s face was full of confusion, “Huh?”

Zhan Weiyang couldn’t explain the so-called Beginner’s Love System to him, but he needed some help from Chen Youyou. He often needed Chen Youyou’s help, and the most important thing was that Chen Youyou lent him homework to copy. And now, as a person who had never been in love or even had feelings for him since birth, he needed Chen Youyou to teach him how to have a relationship with a boy.

He then made up his mind and said, “I’m going to pursue him.”

“W-what?” Chen Youyou blurted out with wide eyes; his voice was a little loud, and the homeroom teacher standing in front of them glanced at them.

Chen Youyou usually spoke very concisely. It was not that he didn’t like to talk, but he didn’t want to talk because he stutters. His family had taken him to various hospitals and institutions for correction since he was a child. Even now, he still couldn’t help but stuttering when he was anxious, like now.

Chapter 2

When Zhan Weiyang came down to the first floor, Pei Qing had come back from playing basketball. He was sitting on the sofa in the living room, talking to his grandma.

Grandma was seventy this year. The year before last, she had a fall when she was on a bus, and since then, she couldn’t get around much and didn’t go out much. Zhan Pengcheng hired a caregiver to take care of Grandma at home while also cooking for the children.

The caregiver’s surname is Luo, and Zhan Weiyang called her Auntie Luo. Auntie Luo had been working at Zhan’s house for two years and had become familiar with the children. She often said that looking at Zhan Weiyang was like looking at her own children.

Grandma was still wearing a long-sleeved shirt and a thin knitted sweater. Her slender figure seemed to sink into the sofa. He didn’t know what Pei Qing said to her, but her withered mouth opened into a full smile, and her eyes narrowed into deep, crinkled seams.

Pei Qing was the first to notice Zhan Weiyang coming downstairs. He turned his head and looked over, smiled slightly and greeted, “Weiyang.”

Grandma turned around and saw Zhan Weiyang and said, “Yangyang, you are awake from your nap?”

Zhan Weiyang nodded, greeted “Grandma”, then looked at Pei Qing and greeted him “Qing ge”. After greeting them, Zhan Weiyang wanted to walk outside. He stopped after taking two steps, turned around and greeted “Auntie Luo” obediently, and then continued to walk to the door.

As soon as he opened the door, his whole body was immersed in the warm sunshine. Despite the impending end of summer vacation, the summer heat persisted, reluctant to dissipate, enveloping everything with its lingering intensity.

Zhan Weiyang couldn’t help but squint his eyes and raise his head to let the sunlight shine from his forehead to his toes.

Zhan Pengcheng drove a seven-seater off-road vehicle out of the garage and parked it in front of his house. He lowered the window and said to Zhan Weiyang, who was standing at the door basking in the sun, “Yangyang, get in the car quickly.” His tone was full of concern as if he couldn’t bear to see Zhan Weiyang sweat a little in the heat.

Zhan Weiyang didn’t move. He turned around and saw that Zhan Weiguang had come downstairs. He must have just taken a shower and changed clothes. He and Pei Qing were helping Grandma towards the outside, one on each side.

Zhan Pengcheng got out of the car and opened the back seat door.

Zhan Weiyang got into the car silently, got into the last row of seats and sat down alone.

Today, the whole family went out for dinner together. Zhan Pengcheng was driving, Grandma and Aunt Luo sat in the middle row of seats, and Zhan Weiguang voluntarily gave the front passenger seat to Pei Qing. He moved to the back row, taking a seat with one space between him and Zhan Weiyang.

Pei Qing was sitting in the passenger seat, making a phone call to a restaurant to reserve a table.

The whole family seemed to like Pei Qing. Zhan Weiyang thought a little casually, yawned and put his forehead against the warm car window.

The dinner was a roast duck.

Zhan Weiyang liked roast duck very much. Although he didn’t like cucumbers and spring onions, it didn’t stop him from eating plump roast duck dipped in sauce and wrapped in thin wrapping.

Every time they went out to eat roast duck, Zhan Pengcheng’s favourite thing was to wrap the roast duck for Zhan Weiyang. While he was wrapping it, he was still chatting with Pei Qing.

Zhan Weiyang heard Zhan Pengcheng ask Pei Qing about his internship, and Pei Qing began to tell Zhan Pengcheng what the company where he was interning was like.

They chatted for most of the meal, and when Zhan Weiyang was almost full, he heard Zhan Pengcheng suddenly say, “Weiguang will go back to school the day after tomorrow.”

Zhan Weiguang had been absently playing with his mobile phone, and only then did he suddenly raise his head and look at Zhan Pengcheng.

Zhan Pengcheng continued, “I’m going on a business trip tomorrow. This trip out is quite troublesome, and it might take about a month. I don’t know if I can find time to come back in the middle of the trip.”

Pei Qing had already put down his chopsticks. He leaned on the back of his chair and listened quietly to Zhan Pengcheng’s words.

Zhan Pengcheng’s words were all addressed to Pei Qing, “At that time, there will only be you and Yangyang at home, as well as Grandma and Auntie Luo.”

Pei Qing understood what Zhan Pengcheng meant and said, “I will take good care of the family. Don’t worry, Uncle.”

Zhan Weiyang looked at the remaining pieces of roast duck on the plate on the table and couldn’t help but pick up another piece with his chopsticks, dip it in the noodles sauce and put it directly into his mouth.

Zhan Pengcheng said, “Auntie Luo does all the cooking and cleaning. In fact, you don’t have to do anything, just help look after Yangyang. You have a driving licence, right? I’ll leave the car keys behind. If there’s anything, like if Grandma isn’t feeling well, you help Yangyang.”

Zhan Weiyang couldn’t help but turn his head to look at Pei Qing, who happened to be looking towards him as well. As soon as their eyes made contact, Zhan Weiyang turned his head away.

       Pei Qing said, “I will.”

Zhan Weiguang reached out and picked up a chopstick and pointed it at Zhan Weiyang, “Don’t cause trouble for Qing ge.”

Zhan Weiyang didn’t say anything, but Zhan Pengcheng said, “Don’t bully your little brother.”

Zhan Weiguang curled his lips disdainfully.

Pei Qing smiled and said, “Weiyang is very well-behaved.”

“Ah—” For some reason, Zhan Pengcheng suddenly sighed softly. He thought for a while and then said to Pei Qing, “There’s one more thing that’s going to cause you some trouble. “

Pei Qing said, “Uncle, please don’t mind me.”

Zhan Pengcheng said, “Yangyang is already a sophomore in high school after all. The day students at their school don’t have to attend evening self-study sessions. I think someone needs to be there to make sure he’s studying at home. Would it be too much trouble for you to keep an eye on him every night?”

Pei Qing turned his head slightly and looked at Zhan Weiyang, smiling and said, “Of course it won’t. I also need to read books at night, so it’s just as well that I’m going to study with Weiyang.”

Zhan Pengcheng sounded a little embarrassed, “Yangyang’s grades are not very good—” At this point, he quickly added, “He is either stupid or he has difficulty concentrating. If no one is supervising him, he will definitely not be able to concentrate on his studies.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Grandma said next to him, “Not true, Yangyang is not stupid at all.”

Zhan Weiyang licked a little sweet noodle sauce off his chopsticks, thinking about how Zhan Weiguang had said that he was stupid, but he didn’t care much about whether he was stupid or not.

Pei Qing still had a smile on her face and said, “Weiyang is quite smart. Many children are smart, but they just don’t focus on studying.”

Zhan Pengcheng nodded repeatedly. Obviously, the comment was well-received in his case.

The family then liked Pei Qing even more.

After dinner, they went home and went to their rooms to take a shower and go to bed.

Grandma and Auntie Luo stayed on the first floor, Zhan Weiguang stayed alone on the third floor, and Zhan Weiyang, Zhan Pengcheng and Pei Qing’s rooms were all on the second floor.

There were two bathrooms on the second floor, one in Zhan Pengcheng’s master bedroom and one shared in the corridor.

Zhan Weiyang took his pyjamas and trousers and was about to take a shower, and just as he opened the door to his room, he saw that the door to Pei Qing’s room over the corridor was open.

He didn’t know why the door was opened, so he quickly hid back and listened with his ear to the door as Pei Qing walked into the bathroom and closed the door.

Zhan Weiyang waited for a while before coming out of the room. He walked to the bathroom door and, leaning against it, could hear the sound of water inside. It seemed like Pei Qing was taking a shower.

He hesitated and took his clothes to Zhan Pengcheng’s room. He took a shower in the small bathroom in Zhan Pengcheng’s room and came out. Zhan Pengcheng was packing his luggage beside the bed. There was an open suitcase on the floor, half of which was already filled with things.

Zhan Weiyang walked over and squatted next to Zhan Pengcheng.

Zhan Pengcheng folded the clothes and put them down. He turned around and touched Zhan Weiyang’s head and said to him, “Dad would not be home. You must listen to what Qing gege and Grandma say.”

       Zhan Weiyang nodded.

Zhan Pengcheng sighed again for some reason. He raised his hand, hugged Zhan Weiyang’s head, and said, “It’s okay, Dad won’t be far away. If you need anything, just call Dad. Dad will be back soon; don’t be afraid.”

Zhan Weiyang let him hug without resisting.

After hugging him for a while, Zhan Pengcheng let go, patted Zhan Weiyang on the shoulder and said, “Go to sleep. When you wake up, Dad will be gone.”

Zhan Weiyang walked to the door and said to Zhan Pengcheng, “Dad, come back soon.”

       Zhan Pengcheng smiled, “Okay, son.”

Chapter 1

It was in the afternoon when Zhan Weiyang was hiding in Zhan Weiguang’s bathroom on the third floor to take a bath when he suddenly heard a mechanical, metallic, cold female voice.

He was asleep at that time, and his body slid down unconsciously, and his mouth and nose were submerged under the water. Then he heard the female voice say: “The Beginner’s Love System activated, Username: Zhan Weiyang, Gender: Male, Age: 17 years old, Height: 174 cm.”

Zhan Weiyang woke up abruptly, his body suddenly diving downwards. He thrust his head out of the water, crouching at the edge of the bathtub, coughing painfully.

The female voice did not let him get away and continued: “System Task: Achieve a beginner love status. Task Target: The first person you encounter at the school gate on the first day of school.”

The water on his head slid down Zhan Weiyang’s face. He lifted his hand and vigorously wiped the water off his face, trying to open his eyes wide as he searched the bathroom.

The bathroom was small and surrounded by light green tiles. Zhan Weiyang could not find a woman talking or a loudspeaker.

“User initial score: 50 points; Positive progress in the love status adds points, Negative progress deducts points; Task full score: 100 points; when the score is deducted to 0 points, the Punishment System will be activated.”

“What Punishment System?” Zhan Weiyang asked in confusion.

       The voice didn’t answer him.

The surroundings suddenly became quiet, just like how it was originally on the usual summer afternoon. The sun shone in from a small ventilated window above the bathroom, accompanied by the annoying chirping of cicadas. It was a tranquillity exclusive to summer.

Zhan Weiyang drained the water from the bathtub and climbed out of the bathtub. He had just fallen asleep while soaking in the water and suddenly woke up when he choked on the water. He was still in a daze. His legs and feet were sore, and he sat on the edge of the bathtub for a while. After recovering a bit, he stood up, put on slippers, and reached for the towel and clothes hanging nearby.

When he came out of the bathroom, Zhan Weiyang wore a large T-shirt that covered his buttocks and only a pair of underwear underneath.

He put the towel on his arm and was about to walk towards the stairs when he suddenly heard Zhan Weiguang calling him from behind, “What are you doing?”

       Zhan Weiyang turned around.

Zhan Weiguang stood at the door of his room, wearing a sports suit and holding a basketball in his hand. He approached Zhan Weiyang until he was in front of him, then looked at his wet hair and asked in a not-so-friendly tone, “Did you secretly use my bathroom?”

Because Zhan Weiguang was taller than Zhan Weiyang, Zhan Weiyang had to raise his head when talking to him. The water droplets on his hair that had not yet been dried slid down his cheeks, and he said, “Yeah.”

Zhan Weiguang said with a stern face, “I’ve said it many times. No sneaking into my bathroom to take a bath.”

Zhan Weiyang spoke calmly and explained, “Only the third floor has a bathtub.” The two bathrooms on the first floor were both without bathtubs.

“Then you shouldn’t—” Zhan Weiguang’s words were cut off suddenly by a voice from downstairs. It was Pei Qing calling him from the staircase on the second floor.

So he just glared at Zhan Weiyang, walked toward the stairs, stuck his head out and said, “Qing ge, just wait for me for two minutes. I’ll be down soon.”

Zhan Weiguang threw the basketball to the ground and walked past Zhan Weiyang into the bathroom.

Zhan Weiyang glanced at his back again, decided not to pay attention to him, and walked downstairs.

Pei Qing was standing at the stairs on the second floor. He was waiting for Zhan Weiguang to go out to play ball, but it was Zhan Weiyang who appeared on the stairs.

After Zhan Weiyang saw Pei Qing, he paused, nodded and greeted, “Qing ge.” Then he lowered his head and continued walking down.

Pei Qing is the son of Zhan Weiyang’s aunt. He is not her biological son but was brought here by his aunt’s remarried husband. Therefore, although Pei Qing is the older cousin of both Zhan Weiyang and Zhan Weiguang brothers, he had no blood relation to the Zhan family with whom he shared the surname.

In September, Pei Qing, who had become a senior, would start an internship at a Futures Investment1Futures investment refers to the trading activities in the futures market with the aim of gaining profits from price differentials, also known as speculative transactions. company not far from Zhan Weiyang’s home, so his aunt called Zhan Weiyang’s father, Zhan Pengcheng, half a month ago and said she wanted to let Pei Qing stay with Zhan’s family for a while.

Zhan Pengcheng immediately agreed in a light tone.

So yesterday afternoon, Pei Qing took the high-speed train across the city alone, dragging his suitcase and stayed at Zhan Weiyang’s house.

Pei Qing’s father and Zhan Weiyang’s aunt had been married for three years. Zhan Weiyang also met Pei Qing three times in total, all during the Chinese New Year. The two of them spoke no more than ten sentences in total.

He didn’t know Pei Qing at all.

Pei Qing was obviously not close with Zhan Weiyang either.

He was getting ready to go out and play basketball with Zhan Weiguang. Similarly, dressed in sportswear, he was even taller than Zhan Weiguang. His figure had already lost the slender build of adolescence, exuding a youthful and agile charm. With broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long and well-proportioned legs, his young and handsome face was truly admirable.

Zhan Weiyang pulled on his slippers and stepped down the stairs step by step with his bare legs. When he passed by Pei Qing, he turned his head to compare the height difference between himself and Pei Qing and then continued walking towards his room.

Pei Qing leaned against the wall at the corner of the stairs, only nodded as a greeting when Zhan Weiyang passed by, and then looked away.

Zhan Weiyang returned to his room, reached out and closed the door.

The air conditioner was still on in the room, and the temperature was set a bit low. The window in front faced the garden on the first floor. He walked to the window and felt the heat penetrating the tightly closed glass, hitting him with a mix of warmth and coldness—just like an egg sizzling on a flat pan.

Zhan Weiyang quickly realised that this metaphor was not that appropriate. After thinking about it, he couldn’t find a better description, so he had to give it up.

The voices of Zhan Weiguang and Pei Qing talking and the sound of their footsteps going downstairs were heard outside the room.

Zhan Weiyang pressed his forehead against the warm glass and kept looking downstairs. When he saw Pei Qing and Zhan Weiguang walking outside with basketballs, he wondered why they didn’t invite him to play basketball, considering he also knew how to play. He turned and walked towards the bed, diving headfirst into the soft bedding.

He wanted to continue his unfinished sleep.

Before he was about to fall asleep, Zhan Weiyang suddenly heard the beep, beep sound, like the sound of some instrument starting up. He thought of the Beginner’s Love System and was inexplicably panicked. He struggled to wake himself up, but his brain seemed too tired. After struggling for a few seconds, Zhan Weiyang finally couldn’t resist the strong sleepiness and gave up the struggle and fell asleep.

He slept through the whole afternoon.

When Zhan Weiyang woke up again, the sun was no longer so bright. He turned over, grabbed the quilt to cover his cold legs, yawned and wanted to continue sleeping.

However, there was a knock on the door, accompanied by Zhan Pengcheng’s gentle voice, “Yangyang, are you sleeping?”

Zhan Weiyang raised his head and responded, “Mmn.”

Zhan Pengcheng said, “Hurry up and get up. We’ll go for dinner in a while.”

Zhan Weiyang promised him loudly, “Okay.”

Zhan Pengcheng then said, “I’ll wait for you downstairs.” After saying that, the sound of his leaving footsteps sounded in the corridor.

Zhan Weiyang rolled out of bed, opened the closet and found a pair of shorts. He hesitated and changed into long pants. He sat on the edge of the bed and put them on his legs, then opened the door and walked out.

Notes:
Hello hello~
I’m here because of Mel’s recommendation in discord~
I eyed this series around 1-2 years ago when my friend recommended the series to me, but at that time, I was working on Garfield’s and planning to pick up Morbid Addiction then later saw someone already picking it up, so I nawp myself from this series.
But maybe I’m destined to pick up this series coz years later, the TL stopped updating, and this series is being requested to me, kek
