Chapter 80

On Friday, Zhan Weiyang spent the whole afternoon waiting for Zhan Pengcheng to call him.

Chen Youyou asked him if he wanted to have dinner together in the evening, but Zhan Weiyang refused, saying that his father would come to pick him up for dinner.

When school was over, Zhan Pengcheng finally called Zhan Weiyang and said in a very anxious tone, “Dad has something to do now and can’t leave. You go home and wait for a while. If you are hungry, buy something to eat.”

Zhan Weiyang said, “I’m not hungry.”

Zhan Pengcheng seemed very busy and had no time to say more. He just said, “Then you go home and wait for Dad.” Then he hung up the phone.

Zhan Weiyang went home by bus alone.

When he returned home, he was still alone. He took his schoolbag to the room on the second floor first, sat next to the table and played with his mobile phone for a while. When he looked up at the window, he found that it was dark.

The sky got dark earlier in winter, and there were no children playing outside in the community garden, which made it even more deserted.

Zhan Weiyang glanced at the time and felt that Zhan Pengcheng should be coming to pick him up soon. He turned off the lights in his room and went downstairs to the first floor. He turned on the TV in the living room, settled into a corner of the sofa, and mindlessly flipped through channels with the remote.

Half an hour later, Zhan Pengcheng called Zhan Weiyang to tell him that he could not make it back.

Zhan Pengcheng was still very worried about Zhan Weiyang and kept telling him to go eat by himself, “If you don’t want to go out, you can order takeout. Remember to wear more clothes when you go out. It’s cold outside.”

       Zhan Weiyang said, “I know.”

Zhan Pengcheng said again, “Be sure to eat! If Dad comes back early, I’ll bring you a midnight snack, got it?”

       Zhan Weiyang said, “Okay.”

Then there was a noise on the other end of the phone, and Zhan Pengcheng had to hang up the phone.

Zhan Weiyang, still squatting in the corner of the sofa, put down his phone, got up, jumped off the sofa, and walked into the kitchen.

He didn’t want to order takeout anymore and wanted to find out if there were any instant noodles in the kitchen. He rummaged through the kitchen and actually found instant noodles.

Standing there with the instant noodles and thinking for a while, Zhan Weiyang thought he could add a sausage, so he opened the refrigerator and found a bag of unopened sausage.

When boiling water in a pot, Zhan Weiyang began to miss Pei Qing again. If Pei Qing were here at this time, they would definitely go out to eat together, and he wouldn’t have to cook instant noodles himself.

Zhan Weiyang cooked instant noodles not very skillfully. He took the bowl to the living room, ate while watching TV, and went back to the kitchen to wash the bowl after eating. Then, he wiped the stove carefully with a rag like Auntie Luo, turned off the kitchen light, and left.

When he video-chatted with Pei Qing in the evening, Zhan Weiyang said that he had instant noodles for dinner.

Pei Qing was not at school today but went home. In his room, he sat next to the desk and asked, “Why are you so pitiful?”

Zhan Weiyang said, “Dad originally said he would pick me up for dinner, but he had something else to do.”

Pei Qing said, “Uncle is too busy.”

Zhan Weiyang nodded, “I know, Dad works too hard.”

Pei Qing said to him, “You haven’t seen my room yet.” After that, he turned the camera of his mobile phone around the room to show Zhan Weiyang his room.

Zhan Weiyang lay on the bed and said, “When will you come back?”

Pei Qing was silent for two seconds, smiled and said to him, “I will come back to see you when the Qingming Festival holiday comes, okay?”

Zhan Weiyang began to calculate the time of Qingming Festival in his head.

Pei Qing said, “You can also come over to play. I’ll call Uncle and ask him to take you to the airport, and I’ll pick you up at the airport.”

Zhan Weiyang asked, “Is that okay?”

Pei Qing said, “Of course, I’ll take you to my university to play, and we can also go to eat delicious food.”

Speaking of delicious food, Zhan Weiyang felt hungry, and he said, “I want to eat delicious food.”

When the two of them finished the video, Zhan Weiyang saw that it was almost time to go to bed.

He got up from the bed, opened the door and looked outside. There was a light on in the corridor and another light on the entrance on the first floor, both of which he left for Zhan Pengcheng.

It was quiet outside, and he didn’t know when Zhan Pengcheng would come back.

Zhan Weiyang closed the door, went back to the bed and lay down, reaching out to turn off the table lamp on the bedside table.

It was almost eleven o’clock at that time.

Zhan Weiyang had just closed his eyes when he heard the sound of a car approaching from downstairs and stopping in front of his house.

He opened his eyes, got out of bed in his pyjamas and walked to the window to look. Sure enough, he saw a car parked at the door. Then he saw the driver open the back door and help Zhan Pengcheng, who was almost unconscious, out of the car.

“Dad!” Zhan Weiyang turned and ran outside.

While still on the stairs, Zhan Weiyang heard the doorbell. He hurried downstairs, ran to the door, and opened it. He saw a familiar uncle standing outside, helping his father.

The uncle noticed Zhan Weiyang’s presence and asked him, “Are you alone at home?”

       Zhan Weiyang nodded.

The uncle frowned, seemed a little worried, and said, “Your father is drunk.”

Zhan Weiyang looked at Zhan Pengcheng and panicked.

The uncle said, “Let me help you get him in first.” After that, he and Zhan Weiyang helped Zhan Pengcheng in. Fortunately, Zhan Pengcheng was not completely unconscious. When Zhan Weiyang held one of his shoulders, he still shouted indistinctly, “Yangyang?”

“Dad!” Zhan Weiyang was angry that Zhan Pengcheng was so drunk.

The two of them struggled to carry Zhan Pengcheng up to the second floor and his room.

When helping Zhan Pengcheng fall on the bed, the uncle said to Zhan Weiyang, “He has to lie on his side, understand?”

Zhan Weiyang looked at the uncle nervously.

The uncle said, “He has to lie on his side when he is drunk. You should pay attention to it at night, and it’s better to watch him.”

Zhan Weiyang nodded. He accompanied the uncle downstairs, waited for the other party to leave, locked the door, and hurried back to the second floor. He then went into Zhan Pengcheng’s room to see if he was lying on his side.

Zhan Pengcheng was already asleep and began to snore, and his snoring was loud.

Zhan Weiyang smelled the strong smell of alcohol in the room, frowned and walked back and forth a few steps beside the bed. Then he remembered that he and Pei Qing took care of the drunk Zhan Pengcheng last time, so he went to the bathroom and wrung out a hot towel.

Back in the room, Zhan Weiyang wiped Zhan Pengcheng’s face. Noticing the unpleasant smell, he couldn’t help but wipe his neck and hands as well.

He really couldn’t undress Zhan Pengcheng by himself. Fortunately, Zhan Pengcheng had taken off his coat when he entered the room. Zhan Weiyang could only help him take off his shoes and socks and pull up the quilt to cover him up to his neck.

After doing this, Zhan Weiyang thought of what the uncle had just said, and he didn’t dare leave the room. He could only turn off the ceiling light, leave a small table lamp, and then squat by the bed to look at Zhan Pengcheng.

“Dad,” Zhan Weiyang complained in a low voice, “you drink too much.”

Zhan Pengcheng certainly wouldn’t answer. His eyes were tightly closed, his mouth was open, and he kept snoring.

Zhan Weiyang thought he was too noisy, raised his hand and pinched his nose, heard the snoring stop briefly, and let go of his hand in fear.

       Zhan Pengcheng was still snoring.

Zhan Weiyang rested his head on his arm, lay on the side of the bed, and said, “Don’t drink so much.” He was a little scared.

After lying like this for a while, Zhan Weiyang felt sleepy. He thought he might fall asleep. If he fell asleep, he couldn’t watch Zhan Pengcheng to see if he was sleeping on his side. What should he do?

Zhan Weiyang stood up, took out the phone in his pocket, and wanted to call Pei Qing. However, he looked at the time and found that it was already half past twelve. Pei Qing must be asleep at this time.

He put the phone back silently and stared at Zhan Pengcheng on the bed. He suddenly thought of a way, opened the cabinet in the room, found two quilts, and sandwiched Zhan Pengcheng in the middle, one in front and one behind, so that he couldn’t turn over and could always sleep on his side.

After doing this, Zhan Weiyang decided to observe before going to bed.

He stared at Zhan Pengcheng for more than 20 minutes and found that he moved as if he wanted to turn over, but he didn’t turn over, so he maintained the original position.

After that, Zhan Weiyang moved the quilt to clamp Zhan Pengcheng tighter, then he turned off the table lamp in the room, opened the door and planned to go back to sleep.

He didn’t dare to close the door of Zhan Pengcheng’s room and left one light in the corridor. Before leaving, he leaned over to take another look and heard the sound of Zhan Pengcheng vomiting from the bed.

Zhan Weiyang was stunned. He thought Zhan Pengcheng had vomited, so he quickly reached out, turned on the room’s light, and looked at the bed.

Zhan Pengcheng, who was lying on his side on the bed, had blood around his mouth and on the pillow. He didn’t just vomit—he was vomiting blood.

Chapter 51 – I can't hide my dragon egg anymore!

Chapter 51 – I can’t hide my dragon egg anymore!

Oh? The dragon egg’s mother has sent a letter?

Zhao Qi stretched out his hand impatiently, “Give it to me—”

Xiao Shiqing raised his hand to dodge, “In such a hurry?”

Xiao Shiqing was much taller than Zhao Qi, and he held the letter from He Changzhou high up, making it impossible for Zhao Qi to reach it. With so many people watching, he couldn’t just jump around like a monkey. Reluctantly, he called out, “Prime Minister…”

Although Zhao Qi didn’t say “brother,” his tone of complaint mixed with a hint of coquettishness was even harder to resist than calling him “brother.”

Xiao Shiqing leaned down, “What does His Majesty want to call me?”

“……” He knew he had to say “brother,” but look at all these people!

Zhao Qiao volunteered, “The answer is ‘Aiqing’—”

Zhao Qi shot him a cold glance, “You’ve already been silenced by the Anti-p0rnography Department. If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll slap your face crooked.”

Zhao Qiao covered his mouth and stared with wide eyes, feeling wronged.

“Aiqing?” Xiao Shiqing chuckled lightly, “His Majesty has never called me that before.” He leaned in and whispered in Zhao Qi’s ear, “Call me that, and I’ll give you the letter.”

As long as it’s not “Husband,” it doesn’t matter what you call him; “My Lord” is nothing special. He often addresses attractive ministers like that. Zhao Qi said with satisfaction, “Can you give this letter to me?”

Xiao Shiqing raised an eyebrow but remained silent.

Zhao Qi, with a tone he just used to address the “Prime Minister,” said, “My Lord—”

Xiao Shiqing seemed somewhat satisfied. Zhao Qi thought that now he would hand over the letter, but this person was really a dog. “General He is on the front lines and still remembers to write a letter to the Emperor. I’m very curious about what significant matters he mentioned. How about I read it to the Emperor?”

Since General He had important matters that shouldn’t be known by others, Zhao Qi was anxious when he thought about their complicated situation. “I can read it myself, no need to trouble you!”

Xiao Shiqing’s expression turned colder. “What if I insist on reading it?”

His cold demeanor made everyone present fall silent as if frozen. Zhao Qi stared at him, looking innocent, anxious, and bewildered.

Xiao Shiqing closed his eyes, unable to bear making Zhao Qi unhappy.

He shoved the letter into Zhao Qi’s arms. “Go ahead.”

Zhao Qi glanced at him quickly, took the letter, and said, “I’ll read it later.”

Xiao Shiqing: “…”

“Then I’ll be leaving first?”

Xiao Shiqing replied coldly, “The Emperor may do as he wishes.”

Fearing Xiao Shiqing would regret it, Zhao Qi hurriedly left with the letter. It was only at the door that he noticed Zhao Qiao had been following him the whole time. “Is there something else you need?”

Zhao Qiao smiled and said, “I’m just worried about General He’s safety, Your Majesty. Quickly see what he wrote in his letter.”

Zhao Qi turned his back and opened the letter.

General He’s handwriting was vigorous and wrote a lengthy message.

“Your Majesty, I’ve come to fight.”

I know.

“There isn’t much to fight; the Xixia army is just putting on a show and doesn’t dare to make a real move.”

Xiao Shiqing indeed predicted this correctly.

“I heard that the Emperor went on a southern tour. How have you been lately?”

Not good, not good at all. The dragon egg is causing distress.

“Since there’s no battle, the soldiers are quite idle. During the dark, windy nights, there were people engaging in improper conduct, which I caught red-handed.”

Why tell me this?

“Moreover, I also confiscated a few volumes of spring palace paintings from their camp, which were quite enlightening.”

???

“But Your Majesty need not worry. I haven’t let this delay important matters. Over this month, I have thoroughly surveyed the local terrain and even planned where to set up ambushes. If the Xixia dares to invade our territory again, I will make them regret coming into this world!”

Very good, the tone is finally normal.

“Your Majesty, since things are almost done, can I come back now?”

I’ll consider it.

“I have a premonition that the Prime Minister will find ways to prevent me from returning to Your Majesty’s side. Please don’t let him succeed. I ask Your Majesty to issue a secret order for me to return immediately to Your Majesty’s side. You can give the secret order to the Imperial Guards’ officer Shen Tai to deliver to me in Xizhou.”

General He actually wrote such things in the letter and isn’t afraid of Xiao Shiqing seeing it? Going to war seems to have made him dumb.

“One last thing, after being apart for several months, do you miss me?”

……

After reading the letter, Zhao Qi’s mood was somewhat mixed. He said, “Prepare the writing tools.”

Zhao Qiao asked, “Your Majesty, is General He well? How is the child in his womb?”

“Perfectly fine.”

Zhao Qiao said, “Your Majesty must be delighted! Since the Xixia war has eased, Your Majesty could let General He return to rest and wait until after the child is born.”

Zhao Qi picked up the pen and wrote the letter. “He should indeed come back.”

He should not bear the consequences of the trouble they caused alone; General He must also take responsibility.

Zhao Qi wrote an order for General He to return quickly and emphasized that he had very important matters to discuss.

After finishing the letter, Zhao Qi stamped it with his seal and handed it to Jiang Dehai. “Deliver this letter to Officer Shen Tai of the Imperial Guards and have him send it to Xizhou as quickly as possible.”

“Your servant will go immediately.”

As soon as Jiang Dehai left, Cheng Boyan arrived with some medicinal soup. “Your Majesty, please take this.”

Zhao Qi asked, “What is this?”

“Medicine for calming the fetus.”

Zhao Qi was speechless. “I seem to be here to deal with the dragon egg?”

Cheng Boyan advised, “Your Majesty, whether the dragon egg can be dealt with is still uncertain. Before that, you should protect the dragon egg in your womb; otherwise, if anything happens to the egg, it might affect you.”

Zhao Qi was persuaded and took the medicine, drinking it all.

The sky had completely darkened. Looking down from the boat, it was just a black expanse; dozens of boats slowly passed by, like scattered stars.

Xiao Shiqing stood at the bow, gazing into the distance with eyes as deep and dark as the river.

The Prime Minister was in a bad mood tonight, and everyone on the dragon boat was nervous, walking on thin ice.

Rong Tang approached but was stopped by the guards when he was still several steps away from Xiao Shiqing. Rong Tang stopped and said, “Prime Minister Xiao.”

Xiao Shiqing turned around and said, “Young Master Rong.” He raised his hand to signal the guards to step back.

Rong Tang approached and got straight to the point. “I received a secret letter from the Duke of Huai.”

Xiao Shiqing’s expression remained unchanged, showing no surprise.

“He learned that I am accompanying the Emperor south and asked me to use the Emperor’s seal to forge a pass to get back to the capital so that he could leave the capital.”

Xiao Shiqing said, “Since that’s the case, why tell me? Why not find an opportunity by the Emperor’s side?”

Rong Tang replied calmly, “When did Prime Minister Xiao become so talkative?”

Xiao Shiqing said nonchalantly, “When I’m with talkative people, naturally, I talk more.”

Rong Tang pursed his lips in silence. He knew exactly who the talkative person was.

Xiao Shiqing changed the subject, “Was the secret letter received the day the Emperor took you out of the palace?”

Rong Tang frowned and asked, “Were you monitoring the Emperor?”

“No, I’m monitoring Xu Zijing.”

Rong Tang clearly didn’t believe it. “Since you received the message days ago, have you delayed taking action to wait for me to mention this matter, or to wait for me to retrieve the emperor’s seal?”

“I am not you, how would I know what you would do?”

“However, no matter what choice I make, the Prime Minister probably has corresponding countermeasures.”

Xiao Shiqing nodded and said, “If you follow the letter’s instructions, I will kill you directly. The writer of the letter disregards your life and death, so as long as you’re not foolish, you should know what to do.”

“Killing me…” Rong Tang chuckled softly, “Does the Prime Minister think the emperor would agree to that?”

“When have I ever needed his approval to do things?”

Rong Tang asked, “Are you hiding all of this from him?”

Xiao Shiqing didn’t answer.

“Others say that Prime Minister Xiao has changed his nature and become a loyal minister who assists the emperor wholeheartedly,” Rong Tang said coldly, “But you haven’t changed at all. You manipulate him unscrupulously, deciding what he can and cannot know— you have never truly regarded him as the emperor.”

“You’re right,” Xiao Shiqing said with a half-smile, “I’ve never regarded him as the emperor. So, what you and others want to do but dare not do, I can accomplish.”

Rong Tang’s chest tightened. He said slowly, “Aren’t you afraid he will hate you in the future?”

“That will be a matter between him and me,” Xiao Shiqing said, “When we reach Cangzhou, you should return home from the boat and never let him see you again in this lifetime.”

Three days later, the ship docked at Cangzhou. The morning dock was shrouded in a light mist, and the Cangzhou governor had been waiting with a group of local officials for some time. Zhao Qi looked from a distance and said to Rong Tang behind him, “Rong Tang, we’re at your home now.”

Rong Tang looked at the familiar yet strange scenery, his lashes trembling slightly. “Mm.”

Xiao Shiqing glanced at the two of them and said, “Cangzhou is slightly elevated and less affected by floods. We’ll stay here for two days and leave the day after tomorrow.”

Zhao Qi had no objections. The dragon egg in his belly was growing strong, and he didn’t have much time to waste.

The ship was unsteady when it docked, causing Zhao Qi to feel dizzy and nauseous again. Rong Tang reached out to help him but was preempted by Xiao Shiqing.

Rong Tang withdrew his hand and slowly tightened his grip.

Zhao Qi, held by Xiao Shiqing, said with lingering fear, “Phew, that was close.”

Xiao Shiqing asked, “Feeling uncomfortable again?”

Zhao Qi forced a smile, “Just a little uncomfortable.”

Xiao Shiqing was still concerned. “You should go to the temporary palace to rest. I’ll handle things here.”

Zhao Qi’s churning stomach didn’t allow him to refuse. “Alright, please inform the Prime Minister and the Cangzhou officials that I’m feeling unwell today and will hear their reports in a couple of days.”

The Cangzhou governor had provided his residence as the temporary palace for the emperor. The governor’s residence was one of the finest in the area, and since the governor had made careful preparations, it was relatively comfortable.

Zhao Qi had been on the boat for so long that he felt unaccustomed to land. Moreover, his severe morning sickness left him feeling deflated, and the energy he had managed to regain was once again drained.

After drinking a bowl of nourishing soup, Zhao Qi began to feel drowsy. Cheng Boyan checked his pulse and said, “Your Majesty, please rest assured. Both you and the dragon egg are fine.” After waiting for a long time without response, he looked up and found that the emperor had fallen asleep.

Jiang Dehai exchanged a look with Cheng Boyan, and the two of them quietly left.

“The emperor has never suffered like this before,” Jiang Dehai sighed. “This old servant feels heartache seeing it.”

Cheng Boyan comforted him, “Lord Jiang, morning sickness is unavoidable. It will get better after these few days.”

As they turned around, they suddenly noticed someone standing behind them, startling them greatly.

Rong Tang looked at them with a relatively calm expression. “What illness does the emperor actually suffer from?”

The two of them secretly sighed in relief. Cheng Boyan cautiously replied, “The emperor is suffering from a loss of appetite due to acclimatization issues. A few days of rest will suffice.”

Jiang Dehai said, “Young Master Rong, weren’t you supposed to return to Rong Mansion? How come…”

Rong Tang said, “I came to bid farewell to the emperor.”

“The emperor has just gone to sleep and we don’t know when he will wake up.”

Rong Tang said, “I just want to take a look at him and then leave.”

Jiang Dehai hesitated, “This…”

A weak voice came from inside the room. “Old Jiang, let Rong Tang in.”

“The emperor is awake.” Jiang Dehai opened the door. “Young Master Rong, please.”

Zhao Qi slept fitfully, waking at the slightest sound. Seeing Rong Tang approaching, he asked, “Rong Tang, are you leaving?”

Rong Tang’s nostrils twitched. Having spent almost a year steeped in medicinal herbs, he was particularly sensitive to their smell. The emperor was not drinking a digestive tonic but a nourishing supplement meant for recovering from major illnesses.

Rong Tang composed himself. “Rong Mansion is only three streets away from here.”

Zhao Qi nodded. “Then you should go quickly. I’ll just see you off here.”

Rong Tang gave a self-deprecating smile. “You think I want you to see me off just for that?”

Zhao Qi was taken aback, realizing that Rong Tang also needed to be seen to the door. “Wait a moment. I’ll change my clothes.” Zhao Qi struggled to sit up, his stomach churning again. He forced himself not to gag, though he couldn’t hide the discomfort on his face.

Rong Tang watched him impassively before suddenly grabbing Zhao Qi’s wrist.

Zhao Qi was momentarily stunned by Rong Tang’s actions, confused and helpless as he let Rong Tang hold his hand.

Suddenly, Rong Tang’s eyes widened in disbelief, as if he had seen the most bizarre thing in the world. “You…”

Zhao Qi realized Rong Tang’s intention and abruptly pulled back his hand, feeling guilty. “I’m fine. Don’t think too much about it.”

Rong Tang retreated to a chair, pressing his hand to his chest as his breathing grew more rapid, as though he was struggling to breathe.

“Rong Tang!” Zhao Qi got out of bed and ran barefoot to Rong Tang’s side. “Are you having an episode?! Someone, Cheng Boyan, come quickly!”

Jiang Dehai and Cheng Boyan rushed in urgently, seeing Rong Tang clutching the emperor’s hand tightly, his eyes filled with intense love and hatred that seemed almost to tear him apart. Then, Rong Tang made a muffled sound, and dark red blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.

Zhao Qi exclaimed in horror, “Rong Tang, you’re coughing up blood… Cheng Boyan, why are you still standing there? Hurry and save him!”

Rong Tang’s eyes were bloodshot, and his pale lips were stained red, giving him a somewhat demonic beauty. He roughly pulled Zhao Qi away and, with a mouthful of blood, he chanted as if possessed by some dark force. “Who… is it?”

Chapter 27

       Chu Yichen.

       Pure black.

       Both were the same person.

And here he was, insisting he wasn’t gay, rejecting BDSM—yet now, he stood in this person’s room, willingly taking on the role of a sub.

Embarrassment, awkwardness, and shame surged over him like a massive wave, pulling him under. Chu Yunhan felt as if his brain was filled with mush, pulverized to the point that he couldn’t think at all. He stood there stiffly like a block of wood; his face shifting between red and pale, unable to utter a single word.

When he saw the other party walking towards him, Chu Yunhan jumped up like a frightened rabbit, quickly rushed out of the door, then closed the door tightly and held it with his back. This set of actions was a completely instinctive reaction, and it was done in one go. When he realised what he had done, he was so ashamed that he wanted to dig a crack in the ground and bury himself.

After all, he was the Eldest Young Master of the Chu family. Even if he met him in a place like this, he should find an excuse to get by. He could say that he wanted to find someone to give it a try, or he could say that someone introduced him to have a look. Whether the other person believed it or not, at least he could maintain a little dignity. Even if he took a step back and admitted that he had this desire, what could happen? At least he should pretend to be nonchalant and say, “What a coincidence”, to hold up the scene.

So what would it mean if he just turned and ran the moment they met?

He pulled off his mask and leaned against the door with a look of despair. Why was he always so timid in front of Chu Yichen?

This was even more embarrassing. How should it end?

He was utterly humiliated—his shame might as well have launched him into outer space…

The door behind him made a soft sound, and then he felt a little force on his back. This made Chu Yunhan, who was at a loss, even more panicked. He instinctively leaned his back hard and held the door tightly for fear that the other party would come out.

He didn’t know how to face Chu Yichen; his heart was beating nervously, and his mind was filled with the words ‘what to do’. He felt like an adulterer caught in bed, naked and not knowing where to escape. Fortunately, the person inside became silent after the push, giving him time to calm down.

After slowly calming down, Chu Yunhan raised his head with a frown and thought about what to do next.

We couldn’t just keep in a stalemate inside and outside the door. There were only two options before him now, either to run away in despair or to go in and face Chu Yichen.

He looked at the ceiling and sighed.

In front of Chu Yichen, he seemed to have always been an escapist. Either he was on the way to escape, or he was racking his brains to think of how to escape, and even jumped from the building to escape. Now that he thought about it, it was a cowardly thing to do.

He didn’t want to run away anymore.

He won the bet, gained his freedom, and was in a position of equal dialogue with that person. What he should do now was to go in and find a reason to break off the so-called ‘relationship’ and then leave the place in a dignified manner.

It took him a long time to finally make up his mind. With a heroic expression on his face, he turned around to open the door, only to find that the black card he had been holding in his hand was gone. Chu Yunhan cursed depressedly and raised his hand helplessly to knock.

The door opened. The person who opened the door looked at him calmly.

       “I just…”

       “Come in and talk.”

       “Oh.” He walked in.

The door closed again behind him. Chu Yunhan suddenly realised that he was being pressured again. Why should he come in obediently?

“What do you want to drink?” Chu Yichen said, holding a white mug. “There are green tea and black tea here. I boiled some water while you were outside the door just now.”

He pursed his lips in embarrassment and said, “I don’t want it.”

The man made a cup of green tea. He put it on the small coffee table, and said, “If you are tired, sit down.”

The only places to sit in the entire room were a single sofa and a large bed in the middle. Chu Yunhan knew very well why it was arranged like this. This was an in between training room, and subs were not qualified to sit. He didn’t move and said, “I… have something to say to you, and I will leave after I finish speaking.”

Chu Yichen was also standing, leaning against the cabinet with his hands in his trouser pockets, looking at him quietly.

Under that gaze, he felt nervous for no reason, and his palms became sweaty unconsciously. He avoided looking at the other person, looked at the ground and said, “I was startled just now. You know, I’m a little… afraid of you.”

The man’s eyelashes moved slightly, like the thin wings of an insect, drooping slightly.

“This place was recommended by a friend. It’s my first time here, and I didn’t expect to see you, so… it was a bit awkward, and I kind of lost control for a second.” Chu Yunhan stole a glance at the man, who remained expressionless, he could only gritted his teeth and continued. “I’m not actually into this stuff; I was just curious to understand what people who play these games think. Now that I’ve seen it, well… it’s interesting, but it’s not for me. As for that form—I thought everyone had to fill it out, so I just wrote something random. I had no idea it would be used for matching. I came upstairs to explain, not knowing it was you…” He cleared his throat. “I’ve heard you’re pretty well-known here and have lots of people wanting to be your sub. I won’t be coming back, so… you can find someone else.”

He had already planned these words outside the door. At this moment, he just came in to recite. After finishing speaking, he waited anxiously for the other party’s response.

The room was unusually quiet, with only the slight sound of the clock on the wall moving. The prolonged silence made the atmosphere subtle and embarrassing, and Chu Yunhan finally couldn’t help but raise his head.

       Their gaze meet.

The pair of dark eyes staring at him were like the deep and quiet night sky, with some dark light floating in them. His eyes trembled, and he secretly clenched his fists, forcing himself not to move away.

Chu Yichen reached out and took out a rattan whip from the wall. He put it in his hand, stroked it slowly, and said, “A whip symbolizes authority, and kneeling represents submission. In BDSM, the person wielding the whip and the one enduring it both find fulfillment through their roles—that’s the essence of its existence. At the end of the day, it’s just a game. When the master sets down the whip and the slave stands up, they are simply equals, with no difference in status or worth.” He paused. “BDSM should be rooted in equality. Forcing you to submit to me as a sub was a mistake from the very beginning. I’ve regretted it ever since.”

“You…” Chu Yunhan didn’t expect him to say such words and was completely stunned.

The man walked over slowly, handed the whip in his hand to him, and said calmly, “If you want to settle old scores, I am willing to cooperate. In this room today, you can be the dominant one and treat me the way you like. ”

Chu Yunhan took a step back in shock and looked at the person in front of him in disbelief. He was speechless for a long time. It took him a long time before he could stifle a sentence, “Are you kidding? If I dare to hit you once, Hei Yu and Bai Xiao will still tear me apart alive”

“No matter what you do to me, they won’t know.”

       “Don’t lie to me.”

       “I haven’t lie to you.”

Chu Yunhan looked at Chu Yichen’s unshakable face and then at the whip in his hand, feeling a little irritated and depressed in his heart.

What is this? Another trick? Some new way to toy with him?

He gritted his teeth, grabbed the whip in his hand, and said coldly, “Now that I’m holding the whip, shouldn’t you kneel down?”

As soon as he finished speaking, the man knelt down without any hesitation. Standard kneeling position, with his knees shoulder-width apart, hands behind his back, his upper body straightened, and looking up at him.

       Chu Yunhan was completely stunned.

       Chu Yichen knelt down.

He knelt in front of him by himself.

He was so shocked by the scene in front of him that he doubted his life. He wanted to slap himself twice to see if he was dreaming.

       So fvcking weird!

Did he actually wake up this morning? Is the person kneeling in front of him really not a virtual image? Is it time for the end of the world? Chu Yichen…is there something wrong with his brain?

He frowned and said slowly, “Are you serious?”

“I have not lie to thee.” The man repeated, changing his title to an honorific.

Seeing him like this, Chu Yunhan suddenly felt an inexplicable bitterness in his heart. He laughed dryly like a self-mockery and said, “Okay, let’s settle old scores.” After saying that, he raised his hand and whipped him.

The whip was made of flexible and slender rattan. It was a whip specially designed for punishment. It was quite painful when the force was not strong. He had suffered it before and was extremely impressed by the burning and heartbreaking pain. At this moment, he whipped the whip from top to bottom, intending to hit the right chest, but due to his lack of experience and uncertainty, the tip of the whip hit the side of the neck heavily.

Chu Yichen didn’t move, still kneeling upright without even blinking. Soon, a bright red mark appeared on the side of his neck, and the flesh bulged slightly. It was obvious that he had not controlled his strength well, and blood slowly began to ooze from the whip marks.

In the previous training, although Chu Yunhan was forced, the man always controlled the force and intensity. Except for the time when he was forced to call ‘Master’, he was almost never injured. He had been whipped like this before, and even though his skin was not broken, it was so painful that he grimaced and couldn’t kneel. Now that it was bleeding, he could imagine how painful it must be. However, the man didn’t say a word, as if nothing had happened. He still looked at him calmly.

“Doesn’t it hurt?” Chu Yunhan asked.

       “It does.”

He gritted his teeth, “I will beat you until your skin is bruised.”

       “Okay.”

Chu Yunhan held the whip tightly, his eyes resting on Chu Yichen’s injured neck. He didn’t know why, but he felt confused, irritable and anxious. Thinking of the humiliation and abuse he had suffered before, he tried to raise his hand and move the whip several times but could not do so. Finally, he threw the whip to the ground in frustration and said in frustration, “Okay, that’s enough. I don’t want to play anymore.”

“You can think about it again. You only have this one chance to settle old scores.” The man was still kneeling.

“Forget it, okay? I deserve it. I accept my fate, okay?” Chu Yunhan didn’t understand why he was angry. “Stand up, I’m so annoyed.”

Chu Yichen stood up and said, “I thought you would at least order me to call you master.”

“I’m not you and don’t have such a hobby.” He retorted angrily.

The man smiled and said, “You voluntarily gave up the opportunity for revenge that I gave you and agreed not to pursue it any further. The dispute between us has come to an end, and you and I are back where we started. This is also what I hope. Now we can talk about the next relationship from a new perspective.”

       “What perspective?”

“The perspective of Pure Black and Daylight.” Chu Yichen said slowly, “Putting aside our grievances and identities, I am the most suitable Dom for you.”
