Rules of love

Chapter 51

Jiang Tongyan could tell that these two people, mainly Shen Huiming, came here to show off.

The thousand-year-old iron tree had blossomed and after thirty years, finally fell in love and showed off its stench.

Jiang Tongyan rolled his sour eyes at the two of them, waved his hand and left.

Shen Huiming called him, “Won’t you join us for a drink?”

“No!” Jiang Tongyan said, “Who cares about you drinking!”

He left, leaving Shen Huiming and Suo Yang standing there laughing helplessly.

Suo Yang said, “Shall we take a walk?”

“Let’s go. The weather is not bad. Let’s just stroll around.”

They said the weather was good, but unexpectedly, after walking for a little while, it started to drizzle.

Shen Huiming took Suo Yang to take shelter in front of a closed shop to avoid the rain. Their shoulders leaned against each other, hands held together, and just half a step forward would get them wet from the rain.

Shen Huiming said, “This is like the heavens forcing us to reminisce.”

Suo Yang smiled silently, looking at the raindrops falling on the ground, and thought about that time the two met on the streets of New York late at night.

At that time, he never imagined that one day he would revisit an old place with Shen Huiming as lovers.

At this time, there were quite a few vehicles passing by, and there were naturally some pedestrians passing by, but everyone was in a hurry. They were either running in the rain or walking past with an umbrella, and no one paid attention to the two men standing by the wall. They and the others were all insignificant passersby in each other’s lives, not even leaving distinct outlines in their own stories.

But Shen Huiming and Suo Yang, they are worth a thousand dollars in each other’s hearts. Since they met, each page of the story has each other’s names.

“Is it bad for us to kiss on the side of the road?” Shen Huiming asked.

Suo Yang thought for a while, “Are there any laws in the United States that don’t allow kissing on the road?”

       “Probably not.”

       “Then let’s kiss.”

Suo Yang turned to look at him. The two looked at each other for a second and kissed.

This time, Shen Huiming and Suo Yang also felt the same kind of happiness that Cheng Sen and Zhou Mo had—getting on the plane to work and then getting off the plane to have fun together.

In the forty hours in New York, except for meeting Jiang Tongyan, the two of them never left the hotel. Shen Huiming’s so-called ‘holiday travel’ became ‘holiday in bed’.

Both of them find it incredible that they were never been an indulgent people, but they often lose control in front of each other.

When Suo Yang woke up in the middle of the night and looked at Shen Huiming’s sleeping face. He was seriously wondering whether this was really love playing tricks on them, turning two rigid individuals into a sticky mess, making them like two tree roots entwined in a hidden place, closely connected without anyone noticing.

This journey went by quickly and was quite enjoyable, which also made Shen Huiming feel very relaxed.

However, his vacation had to end on the return flight. He went straight to the company when he landed, and he didn’t even have time to go home and change his clothes.

Suo Yang felt sorry for him, but he also knew that it couldn’t be helped.

“I’ll get in touch after I’m done with my work.” Suo Yang said, “I’ll wait for you anytime.”

Because of their work, both Shen Huiming and Suo Yang were always punctual people. They arranged their schedules clearly and strictly adhered to them.

They had a strong sense of time and always planned before they did anything.

None of them would waste time waiting indefinitely because they all understood how precious time is.

But Suo Yang promised Shen Huiming—I will wait for you anytime.

Such a sentence, which seemed to be nothing special to others, but to Shen Huiming, it was a wonderful love sentence.

The two separated at the airport; one went home, and the other went to the company.

While Shen Huiming was busy in the company, Suo Yang cleaned the house, changed the sheets and quilts, and washed his clothes and pants.

He was not willing to throw away the roses that Shen Huiming gave him before he went to New York, and now they had completely withered.

The reason why Suo Yang never bought fresh flowers while there were vases at home was that he felt that no matter how colourful the flowers were, no matter how vigorous they were before, they would soon come to the end of their lives. The petals would fall off, the leaves would wither, and no matter how you thought about it, it was somehow sad.

He didn’t like to be ‘sent off’, so he simply didn’t ‘welcome’.

However, it was probably because of Shen Huiming’s appearance that his whole attitude towards life changed.

Today, the withering of flowers no longer means loss but that the life that was once gorgeous had not been in vain.

It turned out that love could really change a person.

He packed everything up and took another nap, and when he woke up, it was already dark outside.

He glanced at his phone. It was past eight o’clock in the evening, and there was still no news from Shen Huiming.

Suo Yang got off the bed, took a glass of warm water and drank it while standing in front of the window. He suddenly had a thought, took his mobile phone and searched for recipes.

There was nothing in the refrigerator at home, so he hesitated and went downstairs.

The small supermarket downstairs was still open, and he bought vegetables according to the recipe.

It was almost nine o’clock when he returned home. He originally thought that if Shen Huiming finished his work, he would go to find the other party and make the soup another day, but there was no news from the other party, and he didn’t want to disturb his work, so he put his phone aside. He then looked at the recipe and started processing the ingredients.

Suo Yang seldom cooks, he knew how to cook a few dishes, but he often felt that he had no motivation to cook since he lived alone. Most of the time, he simply cooked instant noodles or porridge, and rarely did he seriously make soup.

He was thinking that Shen Huiming was working hard and that he should make up for it. However, Shen Huiming called just as soon as the ingredients were processed.

“Finished working?” Suo Yang purposely looked at the time. It was almost half past nine.

       “Well, what are you doing?”

“I’m making soup for you.” Suo Yang smiled, “Have you had dinner yet?”

“Soup?” Shen Huiming was really flattered, “Whether you’ve had dinner or not doesn’t matter at this hour; it’s time for a late-night snack.”

“Then, come to my place?” Suo Yang estimated that Shen Huiming should be able to drink hot soup when he came to rest for a while.

“Okay, I’ll go there now.” Shen Huiming said, “It feels so good to have someone waiting for me.”

Suo Yang let out a light laugh and told him to drive safely.

In love, having someone to wait for, or someone to wait for, is a happy thing.

Life suddenly had fresh expectations, wanted to see the other party, and wanted to be the other party’s support after the other party was busy and tired.

After Suo Yang hung up the phone, he speeded up. He was cooking when he waited for his lover to knock on the door.

In the city at night, there were still many people rushing on the road, and the traffic jam situation was not much better than during the day.

Shen Huiming was so eager to return that he wanted to learn to instantly move and appear beside Suo Yang in the blink of an eye.

He was sitting in the car, music playing, gently tilting the steering wheel with his fingers, and staring at the taillights of the car in front of him.

He hummed along. It was the song ‘Elopement’ recommended to him by Suo Yang.

In the city of desire, you are my last faith.

White as a beam of joy that illuminates my heart.

Shen Huiming smiled. His mind was full of Suo Yang.

Chapter 50

Suo Yang is not a social person, but he likes to meet friends with Shen Huiming.

Whether it’s his friend or Shen Huiming’s friend.

He understood this behaviour as a way of ‘integrating into the other person’s life’. Although love was a matter between two individuals, each person had their own social circle. A person’s willingness to introduce another person to his friends might not necessarily be true love, but if one was not willing to do even this thing, then it must not be true love.

       Suo Yang thought so.

There’s always something wrong with hiding the person you’re in love with.

Therefore, even Suo Yang, who didn’t like socializing, still happily went to meet Shen Huiming’s friends.

       For example, Jiang Tongyan.

Suo Yang and Jiang Tongyan were considered acquaintances. They met on a ‘blind date’ and lost contact after that. According to Shen Huiming, Jiang Tongyan was ‘preparing for a relationship’.

“What do you mean by preparing for a relationship?” Suo Yang sat on the sofa and watched Shen Huiming unpack the takeaway food from the restaurant.

“It means that someone is courting him,” Shen Huiming smiled, “but the relationship hasn’t been confirmed yet.”

       Suo Yang smiled, “Got it.”

He took the milk handed by Shen Huiming and took a sip, “Did you tell him about the two of us?”

“Yes, he hates it with a passion.” Shen Huiming sat next to Suo Yang, leaned over, and took a sip of the milk in his cup.

       “Why?”

“What else could it be? That curse.” Speaking of this matter, Shen Huiming felt that it was really not their problem this time, and he also felt that Jiang Tongyan hadn’t paid attention to Suo Yang from the beginning, after all, they knew each other well. On the day they met, an even more abrasive guy appeared as well.

Suo Yang was of course skeptical about the so-called ‘curse’, but it was fine to joke about it as an interesting storyline and have nothing to do with it. Life couldn’t always be tense and talk about serious things.

“I called him yesterday, and he was still upset.”

Suo Yang held his cup in both hands and took a bite of the sandwich that Shen Huiming brought to his mouth, “Didn’t he already have a fling?”

“It is said that the relationship between the two is very complicated. We can ask him about it when we meet later.”

When the two arrived in New York, the first thing was to go back to the hotel to make love, and the second thing was to meet Jiang Tongyan.

Suo Yang actually didn’t care, but Shen Huiming always wanted to show off, so he took Suo Yang’s hand to meet Jiang Tongyan, pissing the guy off.

At Zhou Mo’s birthday party, Jiang Tongyan even said that he would compete fairly with Shen Huiming, but the next day he slept with his little dance partner from the previous night, and the two have been entangled ever since.

Although Shen Huiming was not a person who loves gossip, he still wanted to hear Jiang Tongyan’s gossip.

After all, fighting with a love rival was a lot of fun.

At three o’clock in the afternoon New York time, Suo Yang and Shen Huiming walked out of the hotel gate.

The two took a taxi to the restaurant. Fifteen minutes ago, Jiang Tongyan sent a message saying that he had already left.

Jiang Tongyan was considerate, knowing that these two were from other places, he took care of them when choosing a restaurant, and chose a place not too far from their hotel.

When Shen Huiming walked in holding hands with Suo Yang, Jiang Tongyan was already waiting there with a dark face.

“Still holding hands!” Jiang Tongyan looked at Shen Huiming and curled his lips in disgust.

Suo Yang stood beside Shen Huiming and gave Jiang Tongyan a professional smile.

“…Here we go again!” Jiang Tongyan rubbed his eyebrows, then shook hands with Suo Yang, “Long time no see, hope you’re well.”

Suo Yang smiled and shook his hand, then sat down with Shen Huiming.

“What do you mean here we go again?” Shen Huiming asked after sitting down.

Jiang Tongyan raised his hand to signal the waiter that it was time to serve.

“Already ordered?” Shen Huiming was a little surprised.

“Well, how thoughtful I am, I’ve ordered all the classic dishes in this house.” Jiang Tongyan said, “Forgive me for taking the liberty…”

He turned to Suo Yang, “Handsome, do you usually smile at old Shen in that professional way?”

Suo Yang originally planned to just sit obediently and listen to their chat, but he didn’t expect the topic to suddenly turn to himself.

“It’s fine.” Suo Yang looked at Shen Huiming.

“You’re just jealous.” Shen Huiming was usually a sophisticated person with the typical qualities of a mature, composed, and successful young man. However, as Jiang Tongyan was his classmate for many years, and there was an unresolved ‘curse’ between them, whenever they met, they teased each other, behaving childishly.

“Me? Jealous?” Jiang Tongyan looked at Suo Yang, and said earnestly, “Suo Yang, I really made a mistake. I shouldn’t have come back to New York. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have let him get to the pavilion closest to the water and enjoys bright moonlight first1he was saying that Shen Huiming is using his proximity to gain more advantages.”

Suo Yang lowered his head and smiled slightly, without saying anything.

“Stop flattering yourself, even if you live next door to him, you won’t be able to catch up with him.” Shen Huiming picked up the red wine on the table and sniffed it, “This wine is not bad.”

“Of course, I brought it for myself.” Jiang Tongyan said, “I didn’t even bother to open it when other people asked me for dinner.”

Jiang Tongyan looked at the two people sitting in front of him and suddenly felt so sad that he wanted to smoke.

       But this restaurant was non-smoking.

This made him even more sad.

“Are you in a bad mood?” Shen Huiming asked.

“It would be strange if I could be good.”

“Don’t tell me it’s because of the two of us.”

Jiang Tongyan looked at them and picked up the cup, “Take a sip before we talk.”

The three clinked glasses lightly, and each took a sip.

“I’m not kidding, it’s good for you two to be together.” Jiang Tongyan said, “At least old Shen won’t play with other people’s feelings. I feel relieved that Suo Yang will follow you.”

“…What does it have to do with you?” Shen Huiming sneered.

Jiang Tongyan also laughed, “This is just speaking from the heart.”

“What? Have you been played with your feelings?”

When Shen Huiming said this, his tone was so brisk that Suo Yang couldn’t bear it any longer, and he lightly pinched his thigh.

Jiang Tongyan rolled his eyes, “Can’t you be more tactful?”

“We are all old classmates, there is no need for euphemisms.”

The exquisite dishes were served, and the three chatted while eating.

Jiang Tongyan said to Suo Yang, “During Zhou Mo’s birthday, do you remember old Shen’s dance partner?”

“That’s your dancing partner.” Shen Huiming took over the conversation, “My dancing partner is Suo Yang.”

Suo Yang smiled slightly, “I remember, he is quite a cute boy.”

“…Cute?” Jiang Tongyan gritted his teeth and said, “That’s a little scumbag.”

The two people sitting opposite Jiang Tongyan were a little surprised, especially Shen Huiming.

“What’s the matter? Did he treat you poorly?” Shen Huiming couldn’t hold it back. He never thought that such a little boy who seemed to have no brains could make Jiang Tongyan, the fox, eat his words, “I remember you said you were going to go back and sleep with him.”

Suo Yang didn’t understand, so he turned to look at Shen Huiming.

Shen Huiming came close to Suo Yang’s ear and explained to him, “The night of Zhou Mo’s birthday the two of them got a room, but I don’t remember whether they did it or not. The next day before I met with you I had breakfast with this guy and when we parted ways I was getting ready to meet with you and he threatened to go back to the hotel and sleep with someone else.”

Suo Yang looked at Jiang Tongyan dumbfounded.

“At that time, he was being greasy and sticking it to me, you all saw it, right?”

Shen Huiming said very calmly, “I didn’t see it.”

Suo Yang laughed again because of his words.

Jiang Tongyan glanced at Suo Yang and understood that what Shen Huiming said was true, even if he lived next door to Suo Yang, he was still no match for Shen Huiming.

       Different, completely different.

Suo Yang’s smile to Jiang Tongyan was the same as his smile to other people. He was very handsome, impeccably handsome, and the arc of every smile was exactly the same, but when Suo Yang smiles because of Shen Huiming, the smile was real It overflows from the eyes, not just from the corners of the mouth.

       He was really jealous.

But what he envied was not that Shen Huiming could have Suo Yang, but that they could have each other.

“I did sleep with him.” Jiang Tongyan sighed, “Before we slept, he was still insisting that I take responsibility. But after we slept, he sat there, wrapped in the blanket, and coldly told me that we couldn’t be together.”

“Why?” Shen Huiming and Suo Yang asked almost at the same time.

“He said that we were acting on impulse, it was the passion generated when we were dizzy.” Jiang Tongyan rolled his eyes, “He said a quickie would be fine, and that a relationship wasn’t necessary.”

Jiang Tongyan frowned, tapped on the table lightly, and asked Shen Huiming, “You tell me, is he a scumbag?”

Both Shen Huiming and Suo Yang were silent, and they both had speculations about this matter in their hearts.

Of course, it was impossible for Suo Yang to say anything, but Shen Huiming didn’t care if Jiang Tongyan felt ashamed.

He said directly, “Do you have a problem with that? If so, it is completely understandable for people to do so.”

“You’re the one who has the problem!” Jiang Tongyan rolled his eyes at him, “You didn’t even see him, he was so excited at the time, he hugged me and called me gege and husband, I’m fvcking…”

Jiang Tongyan suddenly realised that his scale might be a little too big, which would damage his image in Suo Yang’s heart.

Although he and Suo Yang would not have any stories, after all, they were former blind date partners, so he still need to leave a good impression.

Shen Huiming provoked him on purpose, “This is all your group’s words, the judgement of the case still has to take evidence from many sides, we can’t believe everything you say.”

Jiang Tongyan glanced at him disdainfully, “I can see that you are so conceited right now.”

Jiang Tongyan said, “Are all of you in love like this? Looking down on us who are single?”

Suo Yang smiled softly, and said to Shen Huiming, “Don’t make fun of him.”

Shen Huiming obediently agreed, and after that, he didn’t mess around with Jiang Tongyan again.

After the meal, Jiang Tongyan was so envious.

When the three of them walked out of the restaurant, he still lit a cigarette.

“Let me ask a serious question.” Jiang Tongyan said, “How do you distinguish between love and passion?”

Suo Yang looked at him, and then at Shen Huiming.

Shen Huiming turned around and asked Jiang Tongyan, “Do you really like that boy?”

“Boy, what boy, he said he was 20, but he was actually 27.” Jiang Tongyan said, “He is a liar.”

“Even if he’s a little liar, don’t you also let him deceive your heart?” Shen Huiming squeezed Jiang Tongyan’s shoulder and said, “Whether it is love or passion, you know it best yourself. If you want the other party to know it, it’s up to you to convey it. What kind of message did you give him?”

When Suo Yang looked at Jiang Tongyan’s sad face, he finally said, “None of us are experts in love, but if a person is really loved, he will feel it.”

Just like him and Shen Huiming.

At first, Suo Yang couldn’t accurately distinguish momentary passion from sincere love, but Shen Huiming taught him how to do it.

“Will it be?” Jiang Tongyan frowned at them.

“Try it.” Shen Huiming raised his hand and put his arms around Suo Yang, and the two of them leaned together, looking at Jiang Tongyan, “Just in case.”

Chapter 49

Article 4: It is easier to fire Cupid’s arrows than to receive them, easier to give than to receive.

It was actually not an easy task for Suo Yang and Shen Huiming to make a plan to go somewhere together, after all, they were both busy.

It was only after they started to be in a relationship that Suo Yang realised that Zhou Mo’s reason for changing his career—was not just because Cheng Sen was worried.

After Suo Yang returned from Rio, he slept at Shen Huiming’s house for two nights. Before the lovebirds could get tired of each other, he set off again with his suitcase.

This time, however, the flight was short, and he would be back in two days. Afterwards, Shen Huiming took a long vacation on National Day, and Suo Yang was still looking forward to flying with him.

Coincidentally, the first flight that Shen Huiming took after the holiday was to New York. When the two met, Shen Huiming was also on a plane to New York for a meeting.

When Shen Huiming was waiting to board the plane, he was still holding the ticket folder that had been scratched in his hand. It was because of this ticket folder that he had the opportunity to have a few more words with Suo Yang in the past.

Speaking of which, it could be regarded as his matchmaker.

Before the trip to New York, Shen Huiming gave Jiang Tongyan a precaution, telling him that he would bring a very important person to meet him.

Jiang Tongyan had been a little burnt out lately, both at work and in his private life, there were things he couldn’t handle, and when he heard that Shen Huiming is coming, he was happy to have someone to drink with him to relieve his boredom.

Shen Huiming sat in the waiting area, waiting patiently for the boarding announcement to sound while replying to his assistant’s message.

This time, the feeling of waiting to board the plane was different from every other time before. This was the first time they flew together after they confirmed their relationship.

For a long time, Shen Huiming felt that Suo Yang belonged to the blue sky, or that Suo Yang and the sky shared each other, one opening his arms to embrace and accept, and the other freely indulging in the high altitude.

When the two were chatting, Suo Yang said to him, “Some people may think that a flight attendant is just a waiter on the plane.”

At that time Suo Yang was lying on the bed, and the two of them held hands together.

Suo Yang smiled lightly and said, “Actually, what we can do and what we must do are hidden in places where people can’t see.”

Suo Yang was a person with a great sense of professional honour. He loved this job and hoped that he would continue to love it.

Shen Huiming always thought that people who knew what they love were great, because too many people spend their entire lives without knowing what they like, what they want to do, what they want, and how much they want.

Suo Yang might not have the deepest understanding of life, but in Shen Huiming’s view, when a person clearly knew where he was going, it was only then that we really matured.

His Suo Yang was the kind of person he should be proud of and admire.

After replying to the assistant’s message, Shen Huiming looked out the window, and it was drizzling outside.

From here, one could see rows of airliners, some had just returned to the ground, some were preparing to take off, and some were recuperating, not knowing when the next flight was scheduled.

Shen Huiming stood there looking for Suo Yang’s company’s plane. After seeing it, even if he knew that it was not the airline he was going to take today, he felt happy.

After falling in love with someone, it seemed that not only that person, even the things related to that person are inextricably linked with oneself.

A petal could remind you of the rose that day and a drop of rain could make you recall the conversation between the two on a rainy night.

People who fell in love become extremely quick in thinking. However, all their thoughts revolved around their loved one, and everything they think about was related to that person.

He waited for the boarding announcement, just like waiting for Suo Yang to call his name.

When the announcement rang, he smiled and walked over a little closer to his lover.

Today’s Suo Yang looked no different from every other day. He stood up straight and smiled, greeting passengers with a professional tone and wording.

Until he saw Shen Huiming, his smile was significantly wider, and he bowed slightly, “Mr. Shen, hello.”

Shen Huiming responded with a smile, “Hello.”

When Shen Huiming sat down, he suddenly understood why Cheng Sen liked to follow Zhou Mo around the world so much in the first place.

It was a wonderful feeling to watch his lover work seriously in uniform, and occasionally drifting over with a glance as if secretly conveying some unspoken secret.

It was a kind of hidden romance, a hidden joy.

If possible, Shen Huiming would like to kiss Suo Yang in the cabin, or secretly hold hands, and let the god hiding at 30,000 feet see that they really loved each other after that one meeting.

It was another 19-hour flight, and Shen Huiming did not bring work to the date.

After nightfall, the cabin began to get quiet.

Shen Huiming poured himself a glass of red wine, sipped it, and looked at the night outside the window.

They had been far away from the dark clouds and drizzle, flying high in the sky.

He stared at the stars outside in a trance, thinking that he and Suo Yang were really romantic.

Originally, Shen Huiming never expected to have any romantic love in his life.

The adult world is so realistic, to the point that it even pushed love to the sidelines.

What was the love life of most of the people around look like?

It was about weighing, comparing, and deciding whether or not to go out with someone after they had been labelled as ‘suitable’.

Even for some people who had developed a little love for others, their first thought wasn’t ‘I want to be with them,’ but rather ‘Are we suitable to be together?’

This is adulthood, no longer pure, and one was forced to be real.

Initially, Shen Huiming thought that he would follow suit, or that there would be no such thing as a relationship in his life at all.

But surprises always come when people were not prepared.

Suo Yang was the biggest surprise in his life.

While he was lost in his thoughts, his surprise came and called him.

“Mr. Shen.” Suo Yang walked to his side and asked softly, “Is there anything I can do for you?”

Shen Huiming turned to look at Suo Yang, and he found that even by looking at the name tag with the word ‘Suo Yang’ engraved on the other’s chest, he could feel aroused.

When you fall in love with someone, even that person’s name becomes sexy.

“But, I didn’t call the cabin service.” Shen Huiming deliberately teased him.

Shen Huiming did not call for cabin service, it was Suo Yang who came over on his own initiative.

“Is that so?” Suo Yang looked surprised, “Then I might have misread it. Sorry for the disturbance.”

After saying ‘Excuse me’, Suo Yang leaned over suddenly and left a kiss on Shen Huiming’s lips.

He lowered his voice and said, “This is compensation for disturbing you.”

After he finished speaking, he straightened up to leave, only to be pulled back by Shen Huiming.

It was already late at night, and most of the passengers had fallen asleep. The two moved very lightly, hiding behind the baffle and kissing.

In this semi-enclosed space, Suo Yang straddled Shen Huiming’s lap, clasped his fingers tightly with his hands, and sucked his lips.

He never thought that one day he would do this kind of thing on the plane, secretly kissing his lover during working hours, so unprofessional, so unprofessional that he should probably be punished.

But with a midnight flight, even the gods watching over them were probably asleep, and secretly giving vent to their desires was, perhaps, okay, right?

Suo Yang didn’t stay here at Shen Huiming for too long, he still remembered that he was still in uniform at the moment.

Before leaving, he helped Shen Huiming pull the blanket, and said softly, “Mr. Shen, good night.”

He went too far tonight, a serious breach of discipline.

After Suo Yang went back, he blamed himself very much.

But he really couldn’t resist Shen Huiming, and couldn’t resist the other party’s kiss.

Maybe he should tell the other party not to fly with him in the future. When he faced Shen Huiming now, there was no way he could treat that person like other passengers.

       Shen Huiming is his lover.

       He couldn’t be treated differently.

In order to keep himself from doing anything out of line again, Suo Yang didn’t dare to look in Shen Huiming’s direction at all for the next few hours. For some reason, this kind of avoidance actually gave him the feeling of ‘having an affair’.

Suo Yang didn’t know if there was a black swan hiding in everyone’s heart. Usually, all the evil thoughts are hidden under the wings of the sleeping black swan, but there is always a time when it wakes up, and when it flaps its wings a little, those evil thoughts pop out.

Just like last night, he violated the rules and kissed Shen Huiming.

Just like now, he actually enjoyed the thrill of this ‘sneaky affair’.

Suo Yang, a man with a strong sense of shame, quickly suppressed the thought, reddening his ears and trying to bring himself back to work.

It was enough for him to be a flirtatious lover for just a second, and his role at this time was that of a competent flight attendant.

Suo Yang quickly recovered, with a proper professional smile on his face, and professional service words coming out of his mouth. He took care of every passenger, still being the most professional and dedicated he could be.

However, when he entered the hotel with Shen Huiming and closed the door, the black swan that was suppressed in his heart suddenly woke up and flew up, its black feathers shaking and falling on the calm lake, and all desires burst forth instantly. He didn’t even wait to go a little further inside. He put down the suitcase at the door and embraced Shen Huiming in a passionate kiss.

At this time, New York was still the same New York where they last met by chance.

But at this time, they were different from before.

At that time, Suo Yang didn’t even want to say a word to this unfamiliar person. The two sat together and drank a glass of wine, but they couldn’t find anything to talk about.

But today, their shirts and belts were rolled up and thrown on the carpet in the hotel room, and they themselves were wrapped in a large and soft quilt, lingering tenderly.

It turns out that when you fall in love with someone, you can lose control of yourself in the face of the other person at all times.

In love, people are easily entangled and controlled by desire.

Suo Yang didn’t think he was a person who craved sex, but when he saw Shen Huiming, he wanted to hug, kiss, and put that wine-soaked cherry into his mouth.

It was raining again in New York in October.

Just like the last time they met here.

Shen Huiming asked, “Would you like to take it easy?”

Suo Yang hugged him and smiled, “Anything is fine.”

Chapter 48

Zhou Mo talked—about those things in the past.

When he mentioned this, Suo Yang didn’t respond. Shen Huiming was taken aback for a moment and didn’t ask any more questions. Instead, he changed the subject and chatted with Zhou Mo as usual.

Zhou Mo didn’t notice anything unusual from the other party, and he ate and talked about nonsensical things.

Zhou Mo said that it was good for them to be together and that he thought it was great that Suo Yang had a boyfriend like Shen Huiming.

But Shen Huiming said with a smile, “It doesn’t matter if you think it’s okay or not. Anyway, we are already together, and we won’t separate because of what others say.”

Suo Yang sat there chuckling, listening to the two of them bickering without taking sides.

Zhou Mo enjoyed the meal very much. According to his habit, he would definitely go out to play after eating, but the couple was so into each other, and he didn’t want to be the third wheel, so he waved goodbye after eating.

Before leaving, Zhou Mo said to Shen Huiming with a straight face, “Old Shen, Suo Yang is the most handsome guy in our civil aviation industry.”

Suo Yang lowered his head and smiled.

“I know.” Shen Huiming said, “He is also the most handsome guy in our family.”

The phrase ‘our family’ made Suo Yang feel very warm.

Zhou Mo curled his lips, “Don’t just talk nice and do more practical things.”

“Don’t worry.” Shen Huiming opened the car door and urged him to go in, “Come on, let’s go. We’ve got to go home and share our love.”

Zhou Mo rolled his eyes and turned to look at Suo Yang.

       “Then I’m leaving.”

Suo Yang nodded with a smile, “Be careful. See you some other time.”

As Zhou Mo left, Shen Huiming and Suo Yang headed for the parking lot.

It was past ten o’clock, and there were not many people in the car park, so Shen Huiming took the opportunity to hold Suo Yang’s hand.

Suo Yang looked at him with a smile, “So bold?”

“It’s okay,” Shen Huiming said, “If people see you, they will see you, and I have nothing to fear if you are not afraid.”

Suo Yang didn’t say much but gave his hand a firm squeeze.

The two of them returned to the car and had just fastened their seat belts when Shen Huiming coughed lightly and said, “Got something to say?”

Suo Yang looked at him suspiciously, “What’s wrong?”

Shen Huiming looked at him with a clueless look and suddenly wondered if he had been overly concerned.

He had already guessed that Suo Yang had been hurt emotionally in the past. Otherwise, why were his nerves so tense at the beginning? He was always polite, always distant, as if no one could get into his heart.

Generally speaking, such people had been emotionally hurt.

Shen Huiming didn’t care too much about this. The past is the past, and it’s no use going over old scores. Neither he nor Suo Yang was that kind of person, but he was still curious and wanted to know what Suo Yang had experienced in the past.

“I probably shouldn’t ask about this.” Shen Huiming said, “But you know, I’m actually quite nosy sometimes.”

When he said this, Suo Yang was even more confused.

       “What’s the matter?”

“During the meal, Zhou Mo said that you don’t trust others anymore because of those things before…” Shen Huiming took a breath and let out a ‘tsk’, “When I ask this question now, it makes me look particularly small-minded.”

After listening to him ask, Suo Yang understood that this person was mindful of Zhou Mo’s remark.

“Some things in the past did have some effects on me.” Suo Yang looked at him with a smile in his eyes and said softly, “Do you still remember what I told you before? I told you that I am very boring, and the more you know me, the more dull you feel I am?”

Shen Huiming remembered what he said, and he remembered it very clearly.

At that time, Suo Yang tried his best to persuade him to quit, and what he said was very uncomfortable to Shen Huiming’s ears.

Suo Yang lowered his head and gently rubbed his fingers against the seat belt, looking a little embarrassed, “At that time, I actually meant what I said.”

Shen Huiming leaned back in his chair and looked at him.

“Quite a few people used to chase me.” Suo Yang smiled embarrassedly after saying this.

He smiled, and Shen Huiming also smiled with him, “There are still quite a few people chasing you now, right?”

“Yes, but I have you.” Suo Yang said, “Back then, it wasn’t like now. I didn’t know how to say no to people.”

Suo Yang paused for a moment and said, “In the end, it’s actually my fault. I obviously didn’t like it, but because I couldn’t say no, I kept putting it off, and that created misunderstandings for others.”

Not knowing how to say no was indeed troublesome. In fact, whether it was emotional or otherwise, it was the right thing to do when it was time to cut things off.

“Maybe it’s because I didn’t explicitly refuse, so the other party thinks that we are already very close.” Suo Yang said with a bitter smile, “Actually, I never thought about starting a relationship at that time, only that I had just wavered a bit when I heard some words.”

Shen Huiming frowned at him, quietly waiting for him to continue.

“I heard him tell others—Suo Yang is a good-looking person, and he is really not interesting,” Suo Yang laughed. “Since I look pretty decent, I was carrying myself with poise all the time. No touching or getting too close, and there’s nothing interesting to talk about when chatting. When he sat next to me, he relied entirely on my face to support the situation. Otherwise, I would be embarrassingly uncomfortable, was what he said.”

Shen Huiming listened to Suo Yang say these words in a calm and breezy tone and gently tapped his finger on the steering wheel.

Suo Yang was actually a very thoughtful person, and even an unkind look from someone could make him reflect on himself, let alone when he heard such words.

Shen Huiming couldn’t imagine how sad and disappointed Suo Yang was at that time. He was just glad that Suo Yang did not really deny himself and the possibility of love because of those things.

He wouldn’t say anything like ‘if we had met earlier’ because both knew that there was no ‘if’ in this world. Shen Huiming couldn’t go back to the past to change anything. The only thing he could do was to make Suo Yang believe that even if Suo Yang was boring in the eyes of others, he was still a shining treasure in his world.

“Are you very sad?” Shen Huiming asked.

Suo Yang looked at him with a smile, “How should I put it? Maybe because I don’t really like that person, so what he said didn’t have a serious impact on me.”

Suo Yang said no, but Shen Huiming felt that he was just stubborn and unwilling to admit it.

“It’s true,” Suo Yang seemed to have read Shen Huiming’s mind, “to say that I’m sad, it’s really not that bad. At most, I’m a bit disappointed. Disappointed in him and disappointed in myself. But at that time, I reflected on it and thought that there was something wrong with me too.”

Suo Yang looked at Shen Huiming and poked his frowning brows with his fingers, “Not to that extent, don’t frown so bitterly.”

“I feel sorry for you.” Shen Huiming took his hand and kissed it.

The two of them were intimate and lovey-dovey, and Suo Yang felt a little embarrassed.

“It’s not entirely bad for me to know myself properly from these things.” Suo Yang said, “Zhou Mo took this matter too seriously, and then this happened two other times. Of course, both times I said no clearly, but sometimes, mouths are in other people’s faces, and we can’t decide what other people think.”

Shen Huiming ‘cut’ unhappily, “What kind of people are they…”

Suo Yang couldn’t hold back his laughter when he saw Shen Huiming like this.

“I don’t even care. Why are you still angry?”

“You’ve been wronged, and I, as a family member, that’s definitely something to be angry about.” Shen Huiming said, “I found that you are really quite…”

Suo Yang looked at him nervously.

“It’s not quite the same as others.” Shen Huiming said, “It’s hard to tell whether you are pessimistic or optimistic.”

“My mother said that I am too indifferent to people and things. As long as it’s not something I care about, I don’t take it to heart at all.”

Shen Huiming thought about it and felt that there was some truth to it. Suo Yang seemed to be nice to everyone, but he didn’t seem to be particularly nice to anyone. He seemed to be friendly with everyone, but he definitely didn’t get close to anyone randomly.

Such a person, most of the time, keeps a distance from the world. You would think he was easy to get along with, but in reality, he only cares about his own little plot of land.

Therefore, Shen Huiming could understand when Suo Yang said, “It’s not too sad. I’m a little disappointed at most.”

But this was also very good. If one didn’t care about others, one wouldn’t get hurt easily, and one could live a more comfortable and self-effacing life.

“Very good.” Shen Huiming shook Suo Yang’s hand vigorously, “I’m also relieved to hear you say that. I’ve been eating with a heavy heart in my mouth since Zhou Mo said that. I’m not even full.”

Suo Yang smiled, “Not full? Do you want an extra meal then?”

Shen Huiming thought for a while and said, “I’ll take you to a good place.”

The two drove out of the underground parking lot, and on the way to the ‘good place’ Shen Huiming said, Shen Huiming was still brooding over what Suo Yang said just now.

“To be honest, if I were you, I would have been so angry that I would have fought with him.”

Suo Yang leaned against the back of the chair and looked at him, “What about after the fight? Would we break up on bad terms and see each other like enemies from then on?”

He said, “I don’t like that outcome very much. Maybe this is also a kind of ‘escape’, avoiding all possible bad relationships. Sometimes pretending to be stupid and ignorant is a good way to solve problems.”

“That’s why I still have to learn from you a lot of the time.”

“I wouldn’t go that far,” Suo Yang laughed, “Everyone has their own style of doing things, and I just like you the way you are.”

The love words came naturally from Suo Yang, and Shen Huiming was in a good mood when he heard it, like a child who had stolen another candy ball.

The candy that Suo Yang fed to his mouth from time to time made Shen Huiming feel that falling in love was really a great thing in the world. How could someone find such a person boring?

Shen Huiming took Suo Yang to a small barbecue shop. The shop was small, and the decoration was old.

When the two of them went there, there was no room left inside the store, so the boss set up a table and two chairs outside for them so they had a place to sit.

The night at the end of September was actually a bit cold, but it was especially nice to sit outside and eat a barbecue like this.

The starry sky above their heads and the noise in the store had nothing to do with them.

Shen Huiming said, “This restaurant has been open for many years. I always came to eat with my dad when I was in middle school.”

Suo Yang liked this kind of place that had a lot of stories for Shen Huiming. It was like two time and space had intertwined, and he walked into Shen Huiming’s past memory.

“If there is a chance in the future, I will take you back to my hometown.” Suo Yang said, “We have mountains and the sea there. I wonder if you will like it.”

“I just like places with mountains, seas, and you.”

The two ate barbecue, drank soda, and chatted with ease.

Suo Yang and Shen Huiming suddenly understood a truth.

It was like they read the same sentence in the same book—it was difficult to separate passion from love, infatuation from adoration.

The personality of those people Suo Yang had met in the past could not be judged just because of this one incident, but he thought that perhaps because of this appearance of his, or perhaps for other reasons, these people were momentarily infatuated with him and developed a passion. In the very beginning, neither those people nor Suo Yang himself could distinguish whether the sudden feeling was infatuation or love, passion or love.

However, countless facts have proved that infatuation is short-lived, and passion is fleeting. When they found that Suo Yang was not what they thought, they would get bored immediately.

But after going through those ‘rotten peach blossoms’1sucks love stories, Suo Yang still had a real chance to see the light of day.

Shen Huiming was his exclusive peach grove, and all the peach blossoms bloom only for him alone, and this time, he could be sure that these pink and white flowers bloomed for love and affection, not just passion and infatuation.

“What are you thinking?” Shen Huiming asked.

“Thinking of you.” Suo Yang said with a smile, “Thinking that it’s quite appropriate for you to wear my shirt too.”

Chapter 47

How should a lover’s kiss be defined and how should it be described?

The feeling of kissing is like an unpredictable tide that comes from time to time, but as soon as you see your lover, the tide comes around immediately.

Suo Yang was holding a handful of roses in his hand that the careful shopkeeper had removed the thorns from the stems.

His wrist was pulled by Shen Huiming, his waist was circled by Shen Huiming, his lips were sucked by Shen Huiming, and his whole body was loved by Shen Huiming.

A rose petal fell lightly, and it fell beside the vase, lying there quietly and looking up at the two men who were kissing intimately.

After the kiss was over, Shen Huiming smiled and said, “I thought you would be shy about these things.”

In Shen Huiming’s view, Suo Yang was the kind of person who kept his world tightly closed, a conservative and serious person. Before they got together, Shen Huiming even thought, if one day they kiss, would Suo Yang blush to the point of being embarrassed to respond to him?

However, this kind of reserved shyness did not appear, everything about Suo Yang was natural and appropriate.

Even when they were making love, Suo Yang didn’t shy away from it. Suo Yang even cooperated generously and even took the initiative at the right time.

“For me, it’s meaningless to be shy in this way.” Suo Yang smiled at him and then continued to bow his head to arrange flowers, “We’ve spent a lot of time testing each other, going back and forth, and when we get to this point, all we have to do is enjoy ourselves.”

He paused, turned around and looked at Shen Huiming with a smile, “Or do you want to see me shy? Perhaps I can play along with you a little.”

Shen Huiming laughed, “That’s not necessary. I’m not looking for much in this area, the only thing I’m looking for is for you to feel comfortable.”

Suo Yang turned to look at him, smiled slightly, and gave him a flower in his hand.

“Presenting the Buddha with borrowed flowers.1it is a metaphor to use other people’s things to do favours.” Suo Yang said, “Borrowing the Buddha’s flowers and offering them to him again.”

“I’m not the Buddha.” Shen Huiming took the flower and gently rubbed the petals with his fingers, “I’m just a vulgar man who can’t get away from the low life.”

Suo Yang laughed, “Whether you are a man or the Buddha depends on what the people who see you think of you. If I say you are my Buddha, then you are.”

Shen Huiming looked at Suo Yang in a daze.

“Am I so important in your heart?”

“In fact, I don’t believe in gods and Buddhas, and I don’t have any beliefs,” Suo Yang said, “but being with you made me suddenly understand the ‘crossing over’ that Buddhism talks about.”

“You have an understanding of Buddhist teaching too?” Shen Huiming didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and wondered what this person usually watched.

“I don’t,” Suo Yang smiled, “I just flip through books when I’m bored.”

While arranging flowers, he said, “It’s been a long time ago. I saw that the ‘crossing over’ in Buddhism is to use Buddhist teaching to cross people from this shore of the ocean of birth and death to the other shore where there is no birth and no death; and that the so-called ‘other shore’ is, in fact, the realm of constant happiness and purity.”

Shen Huiming rubbed his eyebrows, “I really suffered from my lack of education.”

Suo Yang leaned against him and laughed out loud, “To put it bluntly, falling in love with you makes me happy, comfortable, at ease, free from worries and sorrows. You brought me from a realistic and uninteresting world to a Garden of Eden that I can’t describe and define, so…”

He gently poked Shen Huiming’s chest with his finger, “You are my Buddha.”

The rose itself may be an aphrodisiac, or the person who knocked on the door of the apartment with a rose had hidden meth. Suo Yang himself did not expect that he would say such a thing, or that after he finished speaking, he would kiss Shen Huiming’s lips on his own initiative.

The sour love words were still on the tip of his tongue, and Suo Yang ‘crossed’ them to Shen Huiming.

The two were lying on the ground kissing, and accidentally pressed the rose under their bodies, staining Shen Huiming’s white shirt red.

“The long holiday is coming soon.2refers to the one-week national holiday in PRC starting 1st May and 1st Oct” The lingering kiss ended in the evening when the sun was setting. Shen Huiming put his arms around Suo Yang, lay there and looked out the window at the sky that was dyed pink and orange, “Have you made arrangements for your flight for those days? I have nothing to do, I can fly with you.”

Suo Yang leaned on his arm, hooking Shen Huiming’s little finger with his fingers.

“Boss Shen is really not stingy with air ticket money.” Suo Yang deliberately teased him, “This boss really has a lot of money.”

Shen Huiming smiled and tickled him, “Then what should I do? I finally had a vacation and wanted to make out with my boyfriend, but my boyfriend still has to work.”

Suo Yang was ticklish, and when he was tickled like this, he shrank into Shen Huiming’s arms.

The two big men made a scene like two silly elementary school students. After they had enough, they hugged each other and snickered at each other.

       ===

When Shen Huiming and Suo Yang went out to their appointment with Zhou Mo, they were wearing Suo Yang’s shirt.

Just now, the two were lying on the floor and messing around, but roses stained their clothes.

The two are about the same height. Suo Yang was a little thinner than Shen Huiming, but they wore the same size.

Walking down the street in their lovers’ clothes was a secret pleasure as if telling the world that you had been locked up by your sweetheart. Although no one else noticed or cared except yourself and your lover, it was a wonderful experience for them.

One’s own scent was tainted with the other’s, and the other’s clothes were tainted with his scent.

Even the body heat of his clothes was left on them.

Before going to dinner, Suo Yang told Zhou Mo in advance that Shen Huiming would also be there. Suo Yang had to seek the other party’s opinion first. If Zhou Mo said he only wanted to have dinner with him alone, he would go to the appointment first and then make up for Shen Huiming.

After all, Zhou Mo was the one he made an appointment with first.

But Zhou Mo was a man who could not miss the opportunity to tease Shen Huiming in person. This guy had pretended he had no plans to fall in love before but ended up ‘cheating’ on his best friend behind his back, and Zhou Mo was eager to have him over.

When the three of them met, Zhou Mo immediately recognized that the clothes on Shen Huiming belonged to Suo Yang.

“What did you two do just now?” Zhou Mo smiled maliciously, “Where’s old Shen’s clothes?”

Shen Huiming and Suo Yang looked at each other, deliberately not speaking.

Suo Yang sat down and replied without changing his face, “His clothes were dirty, so he wore mine.”

The word ‘gossip’ was almost written all over Zhou Mo’s face. He dragged his chin and looked at the two of them, “How did you get it dirty? Tell me more about it?”

Suo Yang smiled softly and picked up the menu, “Have you ordered?”

“No, I’m waiting for you to get some.” Zhou Mo said, “How did it get dirty? Don’t change the subject.”

Suo Yang ignored him and looked down at the menu.

Zhou Mo turned around and asked Shen Huiming, “Old Shen, tell me, what were you two doing?”

“Kissing.” It was Suo Yang who answered him, “He bought flowers, but they were pressed during the kiss, and the clothes were stained.”

“…Okay, I see.” Zhou Mo took a breath, “I get the picture.”

Shen Huiming tapped the table in front of Zhou Zhou with a fork helplessly, “I advise you not to masturbate to the two of us.”

“Can’t help it, you two are my source of pleasure these days.”

“Where’s Cheng Sen?” Shen Huiming asked, “Is he away on a business trip again?”

“Yeah, I haven’t seen him for three days, and all I can do is sex video call him. It’s not fun.” Zhou Mo said it openly, and the two people sitting across from him were already used to his uninhibited manner.

Suo Yang put the menu between him and Shen Huiming, and the two leaned together to order.

“Look at what you want to eat,” Suo Yang said when handing the menu back to Zhou Mo, “You haven’t been busy lately?”

“It’s okay, mainly because I don’t have the energy to work when my husband is away.” Zhou Mo sighed, “I’m different from you, I’m a goblin who earns and absorbs yang energy. If my husband is away, I can’t absorb yang energy. I can’t even feel happy.”

Suo Yang smiled and took a sip of water.

Zhou Mo ordered something random and then began to ‘interrogate’ Shen Huiming.

“Tell me, what’s the matter with you?” Zhou Mo said, “Does old Jiang know that you have pried his corner again?”

“Oh, you can’t talk nonsense like that.” Shen Huiming said, “I knew Suo Yang much earlier than him.”

Zhou Mo sneered, “But this is someone’s blind date partner!”

“You also said that it’s just a blind date, and the relationship is not confirmed.” Shen Huiming said, “This is a two-way choice.”

Zhou Mo curled his lips and smiled, “Jiang Tongyan must be dying of anger.”

       “No, he’s busy.”

When he said he was busy, Zhou Mo muttered, “You all are so busy every day, it’s a wonder anyone wants to be with you.”

“Isn’t it?” Shen Huiming smiled, “I also find it incredible.”

Suo Yang was quietly listening to these two bickering on the side and found it quite amusing.

“However, you’re really lucky.” Zhou Mo lamented as he rested his chin and looked at the two people before him.

“Why do you say so?” Shen Huiming asked.

Suo Yang also raised his head to look at Zhou Mo. Originally expecting him to say something complimenting him, but what Zhou Mo said was, “Suo Yang is not like me, he can stand loneliness, he won’t do anything even if you are busy and don’t touch him for 10 days and a half a month, but I can’t. This old Cheng has been gone for three days, and I have to let him coax me to sleep every night from thousands of kilometres away. He is almost exhausted by me.”

He said these words there solemnly, and the two people on the opposite side couldn’t help laughing.

“Stop talking nonsense.” Suo Yang said, “Let’s talk about something serious.”

“This is very serious!” Zhou Mo said, “If you don’t have a satisfying sex life, you will easily become crazy!”

“Are you going crazy?” Shen Huiming deliberately teased him.

“Soon.” Zhou Mo blinked at the two of them and suddenly said with a smirk, “Old Shen, I advise you to guard against me as much as guarding against Jiang Tongyan. Maybe someday I’ll go crazy and climb up Suo Yang’s bed…”

“Sorry to interrupt.” Shen Huiming said, “I forgot to tell you earlier, my phone is on record, Cheng Sen he……”

“I’m just joking!” Zhou Mo suddenly became serious, “My heart and my body belong only to my husband!”

Suo Yang was amused by him, and his whole body relaxed against Shen Huiming’s shoulder.

“That’s so nice, ugh.” Zhou Mo looked at those two and suddenly stopped joking and said seriously, “I’ve been worried for a while.”

Suo Yang looked at him, “What are you worried about?”

“I’m worried that you will just live your life boringly by yourself.” Zhou Mo said, “I’m afraid that you really don’t trust others because of the things in the past. When I think that you would end up alone, my heart aches.”

Chapter 46

Suo Yang did not like to express his feelings and was not very good at it. For Suo Yang, those sweet words were not so easy to say, and Shen Huiming knew this very well.

From the time they got acquainted to the time they fell in love, Suo Yang only said only a handful of cringy words, but on this night, when Shen Huiming was working till dizzy, Suo Yang seemed to have finally opened himself up and willing to confess his deepest feelings to him.

For Suo Yang, liking someone might not be the most challenging thing. Admitting that he likes the person was the most difficult thing.

But now, he was willing to admit and tell the other party.

Because he wanted Shen Huiming to be happy, and on a busy and exhausting evening, a little bit of happiness might make life a little bit easier.

Shen Huiming didn’t expect that his little tricks in Moscow would be discovered like that. Now Suo Yang said such sweet words with a gentle smile in his eyes, but he felt a little embarrassed.

“So I was found out.” Shen Huiming chuckled, “I didn’t dare to hold it too much at the time because I was afraid I would annoy you when you woke up.”

Suo Yang was actually a little sorry. He could feel that Shen Huiming had put a lot of thought into him. Shen Huiming’s life was not easy, and being tossed by him like this must be so tiring.

He squeezed Shen Huiming’s hand, “Hurry up and eat. The food will be cold later.”

Shen Huiming nodded with a smile and ate obediently.

The love talk was over, and the stomach was full after dinner.

Shen Huiming continued to work at the table, and Suo Yang tidied up the lunch box and threw it away.

When he came back from throwing out the trash, he happened to pass by the pantry. He remembered that Shen Huiming was going to make coffee before, so he turned around and walked in.

He turned on the light, stood by the door and scanned around.

Shen Huiming’s company pantry area was quite large, complete with all kinds of utensils, drinks and instant food in stock. There were two small round tables near the window for people to rest.

Suo Yang saw that the coffee beans he had brought were placed on the shelf, so he walked over to prepare to grind some coffee beans and make a cup of coffee for Shen Huiming.

He was not as obsessed with coffee as Shen Huiming, and he couldn’t even distinguish the difference between coffee from different places. The only coffee knowledge he had about coffee was for work.

But the coffee beans were very fragrant. He held it in front of his nose and smelled it, and he could smell the rich aroma through the bag.

He ground the coffee beans and made coffee. Suo Yang was surrounded by the mellow aroma of coffee in the pantry by himself.

A cup of coffee was ready. He hesitated for a moment and did not add sugar.

He remembered that Shen Huiming never added sugar or milk.

Suo Yang returned to Shen Huiming’s office with the coffee. The other party looked up at him, and he smiled and said, “Mr. Shen, your coffee is ready.”

The two looked at each other and smiled. As if they were on the plane, Suo Yang served Shen Huiming a cup of coffee in the middle of the night.

Suo Yang carefully put the coffee by Shen Huiming’s hand and said softly, “Thanks for your hard work.”

Was it that much of a hard work?

It was definitely hard to work overtime at this hour, but with someone to keep him company and someone to love, the suffering was not so unbearable.

Afterwards, Shen Huiming worked until almost eleven o’clock, and Suo Yang, who had enough sleep, took a book from his bookshelf and read it to accompany him.

When the two left the office building, some of the offices in the building were still lit. Everyone was trying to survive and live with their tired bodies and drooping eyelids and had no time to enjoy the brilliant night sky and the night breeze.

It might sound a bit heavy to say, but everyone was crawling forward like this.

       ===

After a few days of not seeing each other, everything happened as a matter of course—Suo Yang stayed over at Shen Huiming’s house as a matter of course, and Shen Huiming kissed Suo Yang and fell into bed as a matter of course.

On a night without the slightest hint of alcohol, the two of them were like two balls of flames, and the sheets were like a forest, burnt to nothing but ashes.

Shen Huiming wished to live this kind of life with Suo Yang every day in the future— holding hands to and from work and hugging each other to sleep on the same bed.

But he knew very well that he could not rush.

He would not let Suo Yang make sacrifices for him, whether in life or in work.

Since Suo Yang liked his job, then he should continue to roam in his blue sky.

To enjoy flying at an altitude of 30,000 feet and to enjoy love on the ground full of traffic.

Before drifting off to sleep, Suo Yang felt a kiss landed on his forehead; he subconsciously hugged the other man tighter and soon fell asleep.

Suo Yang had no dreams all night and slept soundly, even more deeply than he slept in his own home.

In the morning, he was woken up by the ringing of the alarm clock and turned over with a frown. Before he woke up, he saw Shen Huiming, who was wearing an apron, rushing in to turn off the alarm clock on his phone.

Suo Yang lay there wrapped in a quilt and looked at him a little absent-mindedly, all in a daze.

Such Suo Yang looked more soft and cute. Shen Huiming leaned over with a smile, gently rubbing his messy hair, “Did I wake you up?”

Suo Yang shook his head and grabbed his hand.

At seven o’clock in the morning, Suo Yang didn’t want to get up yet, but Shen Huiming was already full of energy, making breakfast for his boyfriend.

“You can lie down for a while longer.” Shen Huiming said, “I’ll put it in the pot to keep the food warm when it’s ready, so you can eat it when you get up.”

“Are you leaving?” Suo Yang glanced at the time.

He had almost forgotten that Shen Huiming had to go to work today.

“Seven thirty.” Shen Huiming said, “I have to go early today.”

Suo Yang thought for a while, then sat up.

When he got up, the quilt slid down to his waist, and the bright crimson mark under the collarbone was very eye-catching.

But Suo Yang himself didn’t know that there was a hickey there.

Shen Huiming looked at the hickey, and his heart was tickled, but he was going out later, and there was no time for him to fool around.

“What? Not going to sleep anymore?”

“Well,” Suo Yang pointed to the hanger beside the bedroom wall, “Help me with my pyjama pants.”

Shen Huiming smiled and went over to help him bring over his pyjamas.

Suo Yang got dressed and walked out of the bedroom with Shen Huiming.

One of them went into the kitchen, and the other into the bathroom.

By the time Suo Yang finished washing up, Shen Huiming’s breakfast was ready.

During the meal, Shen Huiming asked him, “What’s the arrangement for today?”

“I’ll meet up with you later,” Suo Yang said, “I’ll go home first.”

       Shen Huiming nodded.

“Go back and tidy up briefly, and then maybe meet Zhou Mo for dinner.”

       “Zhou Mo?”

“Well, after he knew about our affairs, he insisted on asking me to treat him.” Suo Yang smiled, “I guess he just wanted to hear gossip.”

Shen Huiming also smiled, “Okay, when the time comes, you can decide the time and place. I can accompany you if I have nothing to do here.”

       “Aren’t you busy today?”

“I have a meeting this afternoon, and I should be fine after that.” Shen Huiming took a sip of water, “You can’t be so busy every day; you have to have some time to relax and to do romance.”

Suo Yang smiled, “Okay, I will be in touch then.”

After the two left, they parted at the gate of Shen Huiming’s residential area. Originally, Shen Huiming wanted to send Suo Yang back, but Suo Yang said, “It’s too troublesome for you to go back and forth during the morning rush hour. I’ll take a taxi and go back.”

They are not children, so there was no need to engage in the drama of insisting on sending someone home, not to mention, it was just a taxi on the side of the road, so there was no need to worry about it.

The only problem was that Shen Huiming wanted to see Suo Yang more.

He pulled over and stopped until Suo Yang took a taxi and left, then returned to his car and drove towards the company.

After parting, they went about their business.

When Shen Huiming arrived at the company, he began to deal with the affairs at hand and prepare for the afternoon meeting, while Suo Yang went home to pack his suitcase, wash his clothes, and then take a comfortable bath.

Their lives seemed to be the same as before, but great changes had taken place.

Suo Yang made an appointment with Zhou Mo to have dinner together and then spent time alone at home leisurely.

At three o’clock in the afternoon, Shen Huiming sent a message asking him what he was doing.

At that time, Suo Yang was about to change all the sheets and quilt covers and was halfway through the process when he called Shen Huiming.

“Changing the quilt,” Suo Yang asked, “Are you done?”

“Well, I’m getting ready to leave early.”

Suo Yang smiled, “Then… come to see me?”

“To your house?” Shen Huiming was quite curious as he had never been to Suo Yang’s house.

“Well, do you still remember where my house is?” Shen Huiming sent him back on the day the two confirmed their relationship. At that time, Suo Yang wanted to invite him to sit down, but Shen Huiming was in a hurry to go to the company.

Suo Yang said, “Why don’t you come over and have dinner together with Zhou Mo tonight.”

“Of course I remember!” How could he forget the address of Suo Yang’s house?

Shen Huiming was happy and agreed cheerfully.

Suo Yang’s house was quite far from Shen Huiming’s house. When Suo Yang bought a house, he deliberately chose a place close to the highway out of the city. It was convenient to go to work1assuming that usually, airports are quite far from the city centre so it was convenient for Suo Yang to travel, and this side of the city was much quieter than the city centre, and the house price was also much lower.

Shen Huiming company wasn’t too far from the house, and he drove for nearly 40 minutes to get there.

Before he went there, he bought a bouquet of red roses and rang the doorbell of Suo Yang’s house with the flowers in his hand.

When Suo Yang came to open the door, he had already cleaned up the house, and everything that needed to be changed and washed had also been tidied up.

This place, which seldom had guests, was really welcoming a distinguished guest this time.

When Suo Yang opened the door, the first thing he saw was not Shen Huiming but the big bouquet of red roses.

He froze for a moment, then laughed.

       “What is this for?”

“For you,” Shen Huiming said, “it’s the first time I give roses to someone, and I feel like I’m in an idol drama.”

Suo Yang looked at him with a smile and took the flowers from his hand.

       “Come in.”

Suo Yang prepared slippers for him and stood aside with flowers in his arms, waiting for him to change his shoes.

Shen Huiming followed Suo Yang into the house. This not-so-big apartment was clean and tidy, with good lighting.

It turned out that our handsome flight attendant lived in a house like this. Shen Huiming scanned the room and thought it was really nice here.

Suo Yang had a vase at home, but he had never bought flowers. He and Shen Huiming sat on the floor and trimmed the roses and then put them into the vase one by one.

The autumn afternoon sun slanted in through the bright windows, wrapping the two of them and the rose in soft light.

Shen Huiming looked at Suo Yang who was fiddling with roses with his head down, and said softly, “I want to kiss you.”

Chapter 45

When Suo Yang opened his eyes, it was already dark, and he was in a daze for a while before realising that he had fallen asleep.

There was only one lamp turned on in Shen Huiming’s office, and the person at the desk was frowning at the computer and revising a proposal.

Suo Yang lay on the sofa and didn’t get up immediately, but just watched Shen Huiming quietly in the dark for a long time.

He was obviously the person who Suo Yang had the most intimate moment with, but looking at him like this, seemed a little strange.

This kind of strange feeling did not make Suo Yang feel uneasy, on the contrary, he felt the wonderful pleasure of discovering a new world. He had never been a person who liked to encounter new things and meet new friends, but when it comes to Shen Huiming, he was happy to feel the freshness that this person brought to him from time to time.

He just stared at him for a while, then got up and rubbed his sore neck.

As soon as Suo Yang moved, Shen Huiming immediately looked up at him.

       “Just woke up?”

Suo Yang smiled, “Well, this sofa is quite comfortable.”

Shen Huiming got up, walked over, crouched down beside Suo Yang’s legs and looked up at him.

       “What’s wrong?” Suo Yang asked.

Just after he asked, Shen Huiming suddenly came up to him and kissed him.

“Nothing, I just want to take advantage of the opportunity.” Shen Huiming lingered before standing up and turning on the light.

“You’ve been working?” Suo Yang also stood up and stretched his shoulders.

“Well, I thought I’d get it done quickly so we could go home.”

Suo Yang glanced at the time and found that it was already past eight o’clock, “How’s the progress? Will it be a while yet?”

Shen Huiming said apologetically, “It will take a while, I really shouldn’t have asked you to come with me.”

Suo Yang didn’t care how long he waited, anyway, wherever he was, it was the same—he would’ve fallen asleep just the same.

“Are you hungry?” Suo Yang asked him, “I’ll go downstairs and get some food, so you can eat and rest a little.”

“I planned to take you out to eat after I finished my work…”

Suo Yang gently squeezed his shoulder, “I’ll go downstairs and take a look around, you should finish your work.”

It was common for Shen Huiming to work overtime, and it was strange not to work overtime. However, when he used to work overtime and stay up late, at most he dragged his assistant to accompany him. Sometimes the two of them would quarrel over a detail of a plan, like killing enemies on the battlefield, and it had never been this cozy.

He took Suo Yang’s hand, “Thank you for your hard work.”

Suo Yang smiled, “It’s still harder for you.”

Suo Yang went downstairs, Shen Huiming stretched his waist and continued to work.

Shen Huiming’s company was in a good location, and when he went downstairs, there were quite a few restaurants nearby.

When Suo Yang went downstairs, he searched and found a restaurant with a good reputation on the internet. He packed a few dishes and took them home.

As he walked back with the packed bag, Suo Yang looked up at the office building.

It was almost nine o’clock in the evening, and the office building was still brightly lit, with lights on every floor.

This was the world they lived in, and no one had it easy.

But even so, everyone was still working hard to move forward.

Thinking about it this way, it was a bit tragic.

He looked towards the ninth floor, where Shen Huiming was sitting was the only office with the light on.

Suo Yang looked at the floors below for a while, then stepped up and walked into the office building.

He couldn’t make Shen Huiming wait too long, and he didn’t want the other party to wait too long either.

On the elevator, Suo Yang raised his arms and looked at the dishes he had packed through the bag. He didn’t know if Shen Huiming would like these dishes. He hoped that the other party would like them and that his hard-working boyfriend could enjoy his meal.

When Suo Yang came back, Shen Huiming was about to make a cup of coffee, and the two happened to meet in the corridor.

“Let’s eat first.” Suo Yang grabbed Shen Huiming’s hand and pulled him back, “Eat before you drink.”

Shen Huiming was smiling as he was pulled by Suo Yang and returned to the office obediently.

Three dishes, two bowls of rice.

Suo Yang took the food out of the bag, and Shen Huiming went to the water dispenser to fetch two glasses of water.

“Not bad,” Shen Huiming sat next to him, “This restaurant has the best taste around here.”

When Suo Yang heard what Shen Huiming said, he breathed a sigh of relief, and said proudly, “I checked it online before I went.”

       Shen Huiming smiled, “Clever.”

The two sat on the sofa to eat. Although this restaurant had good reviews on the internet, and Shen Huiming also said that it tasted good, Suo Yang felt that this restaurant’s chef skills might be a bit inferior compared to Shen Huiming’s cooking skills.

He didn’t know if this was the so-called ‘love filter’, but he did prefer the dishes made by Shen Huiming.

As they ate, the two chatted softly.

Shen Huiming talked to Suo Yang about work matters—various project proposals, meetings and negotiations.

Suo Yang asked, “You are the boss, why do you need to write the plans?”

He had never worked in this kind of business, so he really didn’t know much about it.

“How should I put it?” Shen Huiming took a sip of water, “It was more reassuring to do everything by myself. But it was not a good thing for me to do so, since the people under me will never be able to take care of themselves.”

Suo Yang nodded, he felt that it was really tiring for Shen Huiming to be like this.

“In fact, they did a good job, but I just don’t feel at ease. I have to follow every project. Even when they come up with a plan, I have to read it word by word, and circle the problematic ones for them to change.”

“So much work.” Suo Yang didn’t expect Shen Huiming’s job to be like this.

“Once you get used to it, it’s just as usual.” Shen Huiming smiled, “It used to be even more difficult. In the beginning, when the company was registered, there were only two people working with me. The three of us supported the company’s work. There is no distinction between bosses and employees, and we had to do everything ourselves.”

Starting from scratch was easier said than done, and the hardships and pressures involved were unimaginable to those who had never experienced it before.

“When the company grows bigger and more outstanding people join, I will slowly be able to let go.” Shen Huiming deliberately teased him, “Do you want to consider coming to our company? A high salary is offered, and the job description is to work with me every day so that I can watch you de-stress.”

Suo Yang knew he was joking, so he teased him with a smile, “A high salary? How high?”

“I’m giving you the owner of this company. Don’t you think this salary is high enough?”

Suo Yang tried his best not to laugh, then bit his chopsticks and looked at him thoughtfully.

Shen Huiming asked, “What are you thinking?”

“Thinking about how much you are worth.”

Shen Huiming laughed out loud, “How much do you think I’m worth?”

Suo Yang thought about it seriously, and then said, “Priceless.”

A priceless treasure that couldn’t be exchanged for a thousand pieces of gold.

In such a big world, it is so rare to meet such a person.

Obviously, the two were joking, but there was something heartwarming in the way they said it.

Shen Huiming put down his chopsticks, took a sip of water, and suddenly pulled Suo Yang over for a kiss.

Suo Yang was a little surprised at first but quickly responded. The two kissed on the sofa in the office for a while, and Shen Huiming said, “Why do I like hearing you praise me so much?”

“Then let me praise you more,” Suo Yang looked at him with a smile, “If you’re in a good mood, ate a lot, and work hard when you’re full, we’ll go home early.”

Shen Huiming hugged the man in his arms and let out a long sigh of relief.

This feeling was really good, this love talk was making him happier than he imagined.

“Let me tell you something.” Shen Huiming looked in the direction of the window, and the big glass window reflected the two hugging each other.

       “Okay, tell me.”

“At that time we went to New York, and we almost missed each other.” Shen Huiming said, “My assistant originally booked me the previous flight, but something happened and it was delayed, so I had to change it. If I hadn’t changed it then, maybe we would have still met later, but how we would have developed, it’s all uncertain.”

       Indeed.

Everyone knew about the butterfly effect.

A butterfly flapping its wings in the rainforest could cause a tornado in Texas two weeks later.

Not to mention a missed encounter.

“The time I saw you, it was really…” Shen Huiming smiled, “Sort of just because of your appearance?”

Suo Yang also laughed, “So straightforward?”

“Because it sounds a bit hypocritical to say it’s love at first sight. I’m simply attracted by your appearance.”

       “You are honest.”

“I must be honest with you,” Shen Huiming said, “but I can guarantee that you are the only one who has made me fall in love over the years, so I’m not that superficial, am I?”

Suo Yang didn’t make a sound, but his eyes were always full of smiles.

He liked being hugged by Shen Huiming and listening to Shen Huiming talk.

Two people from completely different worlds were hugging and chatting together as if the two worlds were slowly mingling.

“Let me ask you a question.” Shen Huiming smiled self-deprecatingly, “Why do I have so many questions today?”

“Ask away.” Suo Yang was willing to answer as many questions as possible.

“How did I stand out from the crowd of suitors?” Shen Huiming let go of him, and looked into those smiling eyes, “Tell me about it and make me proud.”

The two were very close, and this scene of exchanging heartfelt affection was a bit overly cozy.

“That night in Moscow, you made me feel horrible.”

       “Horrible?”

“En.” Suo Yang paused for a moment, lowered his eyes, and looked at his hands.

His hand slowly reached out to hold Shen Huiming, and the two of them clasped their fingers tightly.

“I didn’t know that someone could see through my strange thoughts at a glance.” Suo Yang said, “It’s like the most difficult lantern riddle I devised was solved by you, and suddenly I met my soulmate.”

He raised his head and looked at Shen Huiming, “I watched a drama before, and there was a line that I still think is the truth of life.”

       “What lines?”

“In our lives, encountering love and sex was not rare, but what was rare was encountering understanding.” Suo Yang said, “I didn’t realise before that I was so desperate to be understood, and that stormy night you touched my soft spot straight away.”

Suo Yang smiled, and continued, “Also, when the sun came out, you secretly held my hand, and I was…a bit reluctant to let you go.”

Shen Huiming said in surprise, “You were awake then?”

“Well, I know you held my hand.” Suo Yang said, “At that time, felt that my heart was captured by you.”

Chapter 44

Suo Yang never thought that he would be like this when he was in love. He used to think that regardless of the time, he would never lose his composure too much.

However, when he was really in love, he turned to be like everyone else, caring about each other and every detail of each other’s life.

He respected Shen Huiming’s living habits, and at the same time, he hoped to leave a place for himself in the other party’s ‘habit’. He tried his best to infiltrate into the other party’s life as unobtrusively as possible, but he seemed to be in a bit of a hurry and was exposed in the blink of an eye.

“No.” Suo Yang said stiffly, “It just occurred to me that you like coffee.”

Shen Huiming smiled, “Alright, if you say no, then no it is.”

He lightly kissed Suo Yang’s ear, “You clean up first, I’ll go and cook for you.”

Shen Huiming stood up and looked down at Suo Yang, who tilted his head up.

Suo Yang said, “You’re going to?”

“I went to the morning market on purpose,” Shen Huiming said, “The vegetables and meat are fresh in the morning, and the ingredients are all taken care of, just waiting for you to come back and put them in the pot.”

Shen Huiming always had a way of making Suo Yang lose his armour.

After all these days, they both knew very well that for people like them, sweet words were enough to listen to, but what could pierce the heart was definitely not those beautiful words of love.

“Let me help you.” Suo Yang stood up.

“Alright,” Shen Huiming did not refuse, “Change your clothes first, and don’t let the oil splash on your shirt.”

Ever since that day when Suo Yang stayed overnight, Shen Huiming had bought him a new set of home clothes, which was placed on the other pillow of the double bed. For a few days, Shen Huiming patted the clothes lightly every morning when he got up as if he was talking to Suo Yang, and he said good morning to that clothes.

He had been thinking about the other so much that he had become obsessed.

He was embarrassed to let Suo Yang know about this; a thirty-year-old man fell in love and made himself look like this. It would be embarrassing to talk about it.

However, after looking forward to it for several days, the man finally came back, and the clothes Shen Huiming had bought had finally found their owner.

“I prepared home clothes for you,” Shen Huiming said, “On the bed in the bedroom.”

“Okay.” Suo Yang moved his suitcase to the side and walked into the bedroom.

As soon as he entered the room, he remembered the night the two spent together. Shen Huiming was more gentle than he imagined, and it made him blush, and his heart raced even more.

Suo Yang hesitated momentarily and changed his clothes after closing the door. Although he knew that there was no need to worry about these things between him and Shen Huiming, he still felt a little embarrassed.

After changing his clothes, he folded the clothes he had taken off and put them on the hanger by the door.

When Suo Yang opened the door and walked into the kitchen, Shen Huiming had already put the processed fish into the pot.

He picked up the apron hanging on the hook at the door and walked towards the other man, “Lower your head.”

Shen Huiming obediently obeyed, smiling and bowing his head slightly, allowing Suo Yang to put the apron on him.

The thin rope of the apron was hung around Shen Huiming’s neck. He turned around to cover the pot, and Suo Yang stood behind him and helped him tie the rope behind him.

“I’ve had this apron for over a year now, and I’m wearing it for the first time today.”

Suo Yang said softly while knotting the rope, “Don’t let it splash on your clothes.”

Shen Huiming smiled, “Do you think I’m having a rough time?”

If Shen Huiming had it rough, then there should only be a few meticulous people out there.

A person’s personality could also be seen from a person’s kitchen. Just now, when Suo Yang came in, he saw that Shen Huiming had arranged all the ingredients in an orderly manner. Although he didn’t cook much, he still knew how to cook. Yes, he found that the order in which Shen Huiming placed the ingredients was even in a logical sequence.

“What can I do?” Suo Yang didn’t answer his question but stood beside him.

“I forgot to beat the eggs,” Shen Huiming said, “I’ll chop the mushrooms. There are eggs over there; take two and beat them.”

“Okay.” Suo Yang obediently went to get the eggs and came back and skillfully stood by the side to break them up for later use.

The two of them were busy working together in the kitchen, and they really felt like a young couple living together.

Suo Yang liked this kind of feeling, warm and down-to-earth.

The gorgeous dining room was ornate with exquisite plating. However, those were not what made it precious. The most precious thing was the most ordinary and simple home-cooked meals.

Shen Huiming wanted to cook for Suo Yang a long time ago, and today he finally had a chance to show it.

The dish was spicy stir-fried beef, braised chicken drumsticks with seasonal vegetables, stir fry king oyster mushrooms, stir-fried cabbage, two meat and two vegetables, plus a bowl of fish soup. Shen Huiming was very proud.

Suo Yang sat at the dining table and looked at him with a smile, “I thought you were bragging, but I didn’t expect the cooking skills to be really this good.”

“Have a taste.” Shen Huiming served the rice, “I guarantee it will be delicious.”

When the two were eating together, Suo Yang looked up at Shen Huiming from time to time.

“What’s the matter?” Shen Huiming asked, “It doesn’t suit your taste?”

“No,” Suo Yang quickly explained, “It’s just that it’s been a long time since I’ve been like this, and I feel a bit unbelievable.”

Over the years, Suo Yang had always felt that he was living a good life, quiet but well-organized, and he had always enjoyed it.

But at this moment, he suddenly realized that ‘home’ was not just a house, a room and a bed.

When he first met Shen Huiming, he didn’t expect that the other party would bring him such an experience一one that was grounded and full of fireworks.

“What’s unbelievable?” Shen Huiming served him a bowl of fish soup, “This is my special dish, try it.”

Suo Yang picked up the small soup bowl, took a sip, and then smiled until his eyes were curved.

“It smells so good.” It was light and fresh, and after one bite, Suo Yang felt comfortable in his stomach.

Suo Yang liked it, and Shen Huiming couldn’t be happier.

“What do you like to eat?” Shen Huiming said, “I will make it for you when I have the chance.”

Suo Yang thought about it seriously but found that he didn’t seem to have any favourite dishes.

When Shen Huiming saw Suo Yang in a dilemma, he smiled, “Okay, I got it.”

       “What did you get?”

“In the past, all the dishes were similar at your place1Suo Yang’s dish is too monotone and lacks of variety,” Shen Huiming said. “In the future, every dish I make will be something you particularly like to eat.”

Suo Yang laughed, “Are you bragging about yourself?”

“That’s right.” Shen Huiming picked another piece of meat for him, “Do you think my bragging is justified?”

Suo Yang ate the piece of meat, nodded and said, “It’s quite reasonable.”

The meal satisfied both of them physically and mentally. Shen Huiming said, “I reckon, after such a meal, you will love me a little more.”

“How so?” Suo Yang followed him to clean up the kitchen.

Shen Huiming smiled, “Isn’t there a saying that to tether a man’s heart, you must first tether his stomach? I’ve satisfied your stomach today, haven’t I?”

Suo Yang lowered his head and smiled.

       More than just the stomach.

He didn’t have the nerve to say it, and he could only secretly laugh.

They had eaten and drunk enough, but it was still early.

Suo Yang said, “Are you going back to the company?”

Shen Huiming glanced at the time, “Are you tired?”

“Me?” Suo Yang said, “I’m good.”

Shen Huiming went over and suddenly leaned over to kiss him, “Do you want to accompany me to work?”

       Suo Yang hesitated.

He hesitated not because he didn’t want to go but because he was worried that if he went, he would disturb Shen Huiming’s work.

“If you are tired, rest at home, and I will come back to accompany you at night.”

“I’m not tired.” Suo Yang said, “I’m afraid it will be inconvenient for you if I go over.”

Shen Huiming smiled, “What is there to inconvenience me? If you don’t go, I won’t feel at ease, and I will always miss you.”

After confirming their relationship, the two haven’t seen each other for a few days. They finally saw each other, and when they did, they couldn’t afford to hide it at home, so they definitely wanted to take it with them wherever they went.

When he heard what Shen Huiming said, Suo Yang didn’t hold back any more. He stood up from the sofa and took Shen Huiming’s hand, “Then go change your clothes.”

The two of them just changed their clothes, and they hugged and kissed for a long time. It was Shen Huiming’s assistant who called, and they were forced to separate.

The assistant had a document for him to sign. Initially, Shen Huiming said that he would be there after two o’clock, but it turned out that it was almost four o’clock, and he was still missing.

When Shen Huiming answered the phone, Suo Yang changed his clothes, then went to help Shen Huiming take off his pyjama pants, and helped this busy man change his clothes like taking care of a child.

After Shen Huiming finished his phone call, Suo Yang finished his clothes.

“I’m a little shy.” Shen Huiming smiled and watched Suo Yang buttoning his shirt, “No one has helped me with my clothes since kindergarten.”

Suo Yang’s original intention was to save him time, but now he suddenly felt that his behaviour was a bit too much, and he was embarrassed to look at Shen Huiming. His ears were as red as if they were dyed with roses.

When he saw that Suo Yang didn’t speak, Shen Huiming didn’t tease him anymore, and when they finished cleaning up, they went downstairs holding hands.

Suo Yang kept looking at the hands they held together and suddenly thought of something. He looked up at the camera in the elevator.

Shen Huiming smiled, “It’s okay, no one cares about our relationship.”

Suo Yang laughed softly and leaned against Shen Huiming again.

It was already 4:30 when the two arrived at Shen Huiming’s company, and Suo Yang was still holding the coffee beans he had bought from Rio.

When Shen Huiming’s assistant saw Suo Yang this time, he immediately said with a smile, “Hello, Yang ge!”

Suo Yang was a little surprised. He didn’t remember introducing himself to the other party when he came last time.

After Shen Huiming finished signing for the assistant and the assistant left the office, Shen Huiming said, “After all, he is my assistant, and there are some things he needs to know.”

Suo Yang understood. He was introduced to others by Shen Huiming.

Shen Huiming brought a laptop to Suo Yang, “I may be busy for a while. You can use this computer if you are bored.”

Suo Yang didn’t depend on the internet at all, and he could pass the time by lying there and listening to music and flipping through books.

He sat on the sofa, turned on the player with headphones on, and listened to the song ‘Berlin’ that Shen Huiming played to him at the beginning, watching the other party frown and handle the work.

Suo Yang didn’t feel bored at all accompanying Shen Huiming to work. He looked at the floor-to-ceiling windows behind him, watched the light dimmer slightly, saw a plane fly by, and felt that life was more beautiful than he imagined.

At 6:30, the employees began to clock out to get off work.

Shen Huiming was sitting in front of the computer, still reading the proposal. When the assistant opened the door and came in, Shen Huiming gave him a ‘shh’ gesture because Suo Yang was lying on the sofa and fell asleep.

Chapter 43

Zhou Mo suspected he had misread it and sent three question marks in a row, asking: Who are you in love with?

Suo Yang stood up and stretched, then leaned against the window and replied: Shen Huiming.

A voice call came in from Zhou Mo.

“What’s the situation?” Zhou Mo said in surprise, “Why are you two secretly communicating behind my back?”

Suo Yang smiled softly, “We’ve known each other since before your birthday.”

       “……Really?”

“Well, he was on a business trip to New York once and took my flight.”

Zhou Mo was even more surprised, “And then you saw each other after that? That’s not right! You’re not that kind of person!”

“It’s not true, but there are always unforeseen things.” Suo Yang briefly told Zhou Mo about the several ‘encounters’ he had with Shen Huiming, and after hearing that, Zhou Mo couldn’t help but feel that fate was really to blame.

“Ming ge is pretty good,” Zhou Mo said, “but this guy is really… What should I say to him.”

       “Huh? What’s the matter?”

Zhou Mo sneered, “He’s really good at pretending. Did you know that?”

       “What’s the meaning?”

“Didn’t I introduce Jiang Tongyan to you on my birthday? I originally wanted to introduce Ming ge to you,” Zhou Mo said. “but then he pretended to say that he had no intention of being in a relationship for the time being and that he should concentrate on his career first. Tsk, what a hypocrite! “

       Suo Yang laughed out loud.

“Oh, but then again, you two hadn’t met each other yet at that time,” Zhou Mo said, “He’s also good at it too. Is this a case of seeing what you desire?”

It didn’t matter if it was a fling or anything else. The important thing was that they were together now, and Suo Yang could feel Shen Huiming’s sincerity.

“Does Jiang Tongyan know about this?” Zhou Mo said, “He’s in deep shit.”

       “Why do you say that?”

“There is a curse between him and Old Shen. Haven’t you heard of it?” Zhou Mo laughed, “Whenever Jiang Tongyan likes someone, that person is bound to like Shen Huiming!”

       Suo Yang laughed out loud.

He remembered this incident, but at that time, he didn’t feel that this ‘curse’ would come true to him.

However, Jiang Tongyan might not really have fallen for him. After all, he hadn’t contacted him since that meeting.

Zhou Mo was in a good mood as he listened to Suo Yang laugh.

He had always regarded Suo Yang as his best friend for so many years. When he saw that Suo Yang was finally willing to look for someone and found a good one, Zhou Mo was happy too.

“Where are you?” Zhou Mo knew he was at the hotel, “Old Shen didn’t fly with you, did he?”

Back in the days before Zhou Mo changed careers, Cheng Sen chased after him and flew with him at every turn. The two flirted with each other on the plane, and after getting off the plane, they looked for a place to rent a room. Life was so good.

“I’m in Rio,” Suo Yang said, “Huiming has a lot going on at his company, so he can’t just leave whenever he can.”

“Yo yo, Huiming!” Zhou Mo said with a gossipy laugh, “Calling so sweetly!”

Suo Yang laughed and didn’t say much.

“But it’s true, old Shen is all on his own. It’s very hard work,” Zhou Mo said, “Okay, I won’t bother you anymore. You should take the time to recuperate and come back to make up for your hard-working man.”

There was nothing Suo Yang could do with him; this man had always spoken immoderately.

“It’s time to hang up. I have to pack up and get ready to go out.” Zhou Mo muttered at the end, “I’ll have to find a chance to get old Shen to treat me to a big meal!”

“I’ll treat you.” Suo Yang said with a smile, “I’ll contact you when I get back.”

After he hung up the phone, Suo Yang smiled and let out a long sigh of relief.

This was the first time he had heard about Shen Huiming’s refusal to be introduced by Zhou Mo. He didn’t expect that there would be such a story.

Suo Yang, who had had enough sleep and didn’t want to go out with his colleagues, changed his clothes and wandered alone on the streets of Rio, wanting to see if there was anything he could buy back as a gift for Shen Huiming.

At this point, Suo Yang suddenly realized that the two of them really didn’t know each other well enough, and they didn’t even know each other’s likes and dislikes. He understood that he could only discover these things slowly in the future and write them down bit by bit.

He could even imagine that whatever he gave, the other party would accept it like a treasure and then say he liked it.

But he still hoped to match what he liked and hoped that what he gave to Shen Huiming was what the other party liked and could really use.

As he was walking along this road, he suddenly smelled the aroma of coffee.

He suddenly remembered that the last time he went to Shen Huiming’s company, he drank the coffee Jiang Tongyan gave.

Suo Yang stopped, followed the aroma, and looked around. He then finally found the source of the coffee aroma.

What he thought when he pushed the door open was: Next time, I want Shen Huiming to say that my lover brought this back from Brazil when he invited people for coffee.

He smiled self-deprecatingly. Why was he still feeling jealous?

===

The night before Suo Yang’s return, Shen Huiming stayed up all night to finish all the work he could handle so that at least he had half a day free to go and pick up Suo Yang.

He realised that he didn’t tell Suo Yang he would be there, and when he finally contacted the other party, he only said, “It will depend on the situation at that time”.

Life was always going to be a bit of a surprise!

Shen Huiming slept for over three hours, got up at seven o’clock, went to the nearby market to buy some ingredients, and left for the airport at almost nine o’clock, waiting to pick up his hard-working boyfriend home.

This kind of life was too blissful, which made Shen Huiming feel like he and Suo Yang had already lived a married life.

When he arrived at the airport, Suo Yang hadn’t landed yet, and Shen Huiming was really inexperienced in picking up a flight attendant and didn’t know whether he should wait with everyone at the international arrival exit.

He pondered for a while, found a coffee shop to sit down, sent a message to Suo Yang, and then waited there quietly.

This time, Shen Huiming had no urgent work, so he brought out the book with the coffee-stained cover and sat in the coffee shop at the far end of the airport lobby, holding his mobile phone and scrolling through Suo Yang’s Weibo.

In Rio de Janeiro, Suo Yang said he missed him.

Shen Huiming smiled and clicked on it, replying: I miss you too.

Shen Huiming didn’t have a Weibo at first, but when he was in Berlin last time, he knew that Suo Yang was playing Weibo, so he remembered it. In the past few days, on a whim, he also registered one.

He didn’t even bother changing his avatar and ID; the only person he followed was ‘Sky Mirror’.

After replying to Suo Yang’s Weibo, Shen Huiming saw Zhou Mo’s comments. Zhou Mo’s profile picture was a photo of him and Cheng Sen, but the photo only showed a part of Zhou Mo leaning on his shoulder. Cheng Sen’s face was not shown.

The bored Shen Huiming clicked on Zhou Mo’s Weibo, and the first thing he saw was: My best friend has been pigged out, and although the pig is not bad, it feels like a loss!

Shen Huiming probably guessed what he was talking about, smiled helplessly, and said to himself, Am I a pig?

From where Shen Huiming was sitting, he could see the blue sky at a glance. He put down his mobile phone, stared at the planes taking off and landing, and guessed which one of the returning planes had his sweetheart on board.

Suo Yang’s flight landed on time, and after finishing his work, he turned on his phone.

Shen Huiming said: I’m here, waiting for you.

“Yang ge, why are you so happy?” A colleague came in to change clothes, saw him standing there with his mobile phone and giggled, and deliberately made fun of him, “A lover?”

Suo Yang replied with a smile, “Yes.”

The other party was a little surprised and then congratulated again and again.

Suo Yang was anxious to see Shen Huiming, and after he changed his uniform, he didn’t chat with his colleagues. He made an excuse and left first.

After he came out, he called Shen Huiming, “Where are you?”

Shen Huiming said the location of the coffee shop he was in. He smiled and asked, “Miss me?”

Suo Yang smiled lightly and did not answer.

“I know even if you don’t say it.” Shen Huiming said, “You missed me when you were in Rio.”

Suo Yang was a little surprised, “Did you see my Weibo post?”

“From now on, just tell me directly if you miss me,” Shen Huiming smiled, “Showing love over the air, wouldn’t it be a loss if I don’t know?”

Suo Yang dragged his suitcase, passed through the noisy crowd at the airport, and walked quickly towards the coffee shop on the far side.

Him, “Okay, next time I miss you, I will tell you directly.”

“Where are you?” Shen Huiming asked, “I’ll go to your side to meet you.”

       “No need, I…”

“I miss you,” Shen Huiming got up and walked outside, “If I can see you one minute earlier, I will earn an extra minute.”

The two big men, surprisingly so cringy, Suo Yang smiled so much that his ears burned.

The two walked towards each other on the phone like this and saw each other’s figures through the people they were passing by.

“Want to kiss you right here.” As they finally got closer and stood in front of the other party, Shen Huiming stared at Suo Yang, “It’s going to be hard to control myself.”

“But you still have to control it.” Suo Yang put the phone away and looked at him with a smile, “I’ll let you kiss me when we get back.”

This was already the most cringe thing that Suo Yang could say.

Shen Huiming was happy and led the other party out quickly.

However, although Suo Yang said that he would give him a kiss after they got back, actually, as soon as he sat in the passenger seat, Shen Huiming came over and took the opportunity to kiss him under the pretext of helping him fasten his seat belt.

“Why am I like this?” Shen Huiming said after kissing him, “Like a bad wolf.”

“You are aware of that, huh?” Suo Yang took his hand and squeezed it lightly, “Let’s go.”

Shen Huiming sat back and drove Suo Yang away from the airport.

He directly took Suo Yang back to his home and hugged him as soon as he entered the door.

Suo Yang smiled helplessly, letting him cling to himself childishly, and then slowly responded. The two kissed on the sofa for nearly twenty minutes before separating.

“Why is your face so red?” Shen Huiming asked with a smile.

“Why do you think?” Suo Yang looked at the other party, leaned forward and kissed him, “I brought you a gift.”

He patted Shen Huiming lightly, pulled him up from the sofa, and then went to open the suitcase.

“Coffee?” Shen Huiming took the two packs of coffee beans from him, “Why did you think of buying this?”

“Keep one pack at home and one pack at work.” Suo Yang said, “You like coffee, and I can buy speciality coffee from various countries for you in the future.”

Shen Huiming smiled while holding the coffee beans and asked, “Do I smell vinegar1eating vinegar is the way Chinese people say someone is jealous, so in this case, Shen Huiming is teasing Suo Yang by saying he smelled his jealousy?”

Suo Yang, a little embarrassed, turned away from Shen Huiming, squatted there, and pulled the suitcase back up.

“Jealous of Jiang Tongyan too?” Shen Huiming went over and hugged him from behind, “Okay, go for it. You are so cute when you are jealous.”

Chapter 42

Suo Yang flew to Rio de Janeiro this time, counting the time spent overnight there, the round trip took almost four days.

It was afternoon when they arrived in Rio de Janeiro, and they didn’t return until the next afternoon, so they could rest there for a day.

Suo Yang saw off the last passenger, sorted out the cabin affairs, and turned on the phone after everything was done.

After turning it on, the first message that came in was from Shen Huiming: Saw a plane and instantly missed you.

In fact, he hadn’t gotten used to this state for the time being—having someone think of him all the time, and thinking of someone else all the time. But it was undeniable that when I saw this sentence, the exhaustion accumulated after more than 30 hours of flying was swept away.

There was an 11-hour time difference between here and China. Suo Yang replied to Shen Huiming, who had already fallen asleep where the sun was shining brightly in Rio de Janeiro.

He didn’t say much, just told the other party that he landed safely—Everything is going well, don’t worry.

Suo Yang went to the hotel with everyone. As usual, two people shared a room. This time, the colleague who lived in the same room with him happened to be in the same group as his girlfriend. After the two arrived, they went to open a separate room and then said to him with some embarrassment, “Yang ge, I won’t come to stay at night.”

Suo Yang smiled and nodded to express his understanding.

It was good that she was not coming over, so he was happy to be alone.

He put away his luggage, tidied up briefly, went to take a shower, then picked up the book he brought with him, and lay down on the bed.

Suo Yang felt that he might be influenced by Shen Huiming, and even carried that ‘On Love’ book with him when he went out. He sent this book to Shen Huiming anonymously before, and the two met to finish it together. For Suo Yang, it was actually a re-reading, so he didn’t take it too seriously at the time. Every time Shen Huiming sent him the reading progress, he would turn to that page at the same time and scan the pages.

Today, tired as he was, he actually tried to reread it word by word from the first page.

[In this world, there is nothing stronger than the desire for love.]

Seeing the first sentence of the first chapter, Suo Yang laughed.

When he read this sentence last time, he didn’t think so, but now he nodded.

Shen Huiming seemed to believe that the relationship between them was influenced by ‘Romantic Fatalism’. He believed that the fate of the two had been tied together long ago. As for Suo Yang, he always thought this matter was mysterious before, and he always tried to get rid of ‘Fate’ every time it was mentioned, but always found that it seemed difficult for human beings to get rid of the so-called “Fate”.

However, even if “Fate” always haunted them, it only had a small impact on their lives, and it only leads them to meet, and later on, the whole relationship between them still depended on themselves.

Suo Yang felt that he and Shen Huiming could come together, fate only contributed 30% of the whole development, and the rest should be credited to Shen Huiming.

It was Shen Huiming who made a person who neither expected nor was optimistic about love, willingly write the word ‘love’ on paper.

He leaned on the bed, leaning on the soft pillow, and finished reading the encounter between ‘I1the person in the book’ and Chloe in the book.

He and she, he and him, they all met at thirty thousand feet, on the plane, in the clouds.

As he closed the book, Suo Yang clearly knew that ‘Romantic Fatalism’ was still just a very metaphysical thing. It could reasonably exist in the book, but it might not really exist in reality.

But regardless of whether ‘Romantic Fatalism’ existed or not, he had truly fallen in love with that man, and he truly was missing him on this afternoon in a foreign country.

He glanced at the time. It was 4:30 p.m. Rio de Janeiro time.

It should be the early morning of the next day at Shen Huiming’s place, and the other party must be in a dream.

He picked up his phone and sent another message to Shen Huiming: I wish you another wonderful day when you wake up, and I miss you too.

===

Suo Yang didn’t sleep for long this time, he woke up around eight o’clock.

The first thing he did when he opened his eyes was to touch his phone and check his messages.

This was also a new change for him.

Shen Huiming sent him a photo of his breakfast two hours ago—a bowl of delicious-looking wontons.

Suo Yang had barely eaten since the morning, and he hadn’t felt hungry at first, but when he saw Shen Huiming’s wontons, his stomach suddenly growled shamelessly.

He subconsciously rubbed his stomach, turned over with his mobile phone, and replied to Shen Huiming: Good morning, the wontons look delicious.

Shen Huiming had already finished his coffee when he received the text and was sitting on the sofa with his mobile phone looking through the schedule sent by his assistant yesterday.

       It was another busy day.

Sometimes Shen Huiming thought, just as employees didn’t want to go to work, the boss didn’t want to go to work either, just like students didn’t want to go to school, and teachers didn’t want to either.

Who didn’t want to enjoy life and make money at the same time? But the problem was that they were all ordinary people, and if they didn’t work hard, they just couldn’t afford to eat or live.

He looked at the long list of schedules, and Shen Huiming had a headache, but when Suo Yang’s message came, he was in a good mood.

Shen Huiming replied to him and asked cautiously: Can we do a video call?

He wanted to see Suo Yang.

Suo Yang had never video-called anyone, including his parents.

Shen Huiming hadn’t received a reply for a long time, and he was a little nervous. Although the two were indeed a couple now, they really didn’t know each other well in many habits. He was still afraid that he will touch Suo Yang’s trigger.

Just as he was thinking about how to talk, Suo Yang’s video call invitation came through.

Shen Huiming laughed, thinking that he was being too cautious, while Suo Yang was not so.

The two were separated by more than 17,000 kilometres. truly separated by mountains and water, and when they saw each other on the video, their longing doubled.

“It’s already dark over there, isn’t it?”

“Well, I slept through the evening.”

       Shen Huiming laughed, “Tired?”

“A little bit,” Suo Yang said, “but there is enough rest time, and we will return to the journey tomorrow night.”

Shen Huiming made a rough calculation. If Suo Yang returned tomorrow night, he would arrive in the morning of the day after tomorrow. He quickly glanced at the calendar on the table, intending to free up as much of that morning as possible.

Although Suo Yang said no, he still wanted to pick him up.

“Your wontons seem to be pretty good.” Suo Yang had already gotten off the bed, sat on the chair by the bed and looked out the window, “I’m hungry.”

The phrase ‘I’m hungry’ actually seemed a bit coquettish, which made Shen Huiming wish he could go over and cook wontons for him right away.

“I’ll cook it for you when you come back,” Shen Huiming looked at him with a smile, “What are you going to have later? Authentic Brazilian barbecue?”

Suo Yang laughed out loud, “Shall I eat alone?”

“What? You’re not going out with your colleagues?”

“No,” Suo Yang said, “I don’t really want to go out.”

Shen Huiming smiled, “Then when I have a chance in the future, I will accompany you to go.”

Suo Yang looked at the video of a fully dressed Shen Huiming and suddenly wanted to help the other party tie their cufflinks.

“Okay.” Suo Yang looked at him with a slight smile, “Where else do you plan to go with me?”

“Berlin.” Shen Huiming said, “Let’s go to a wedding later.”

The two men looked at each other for a moment.

Shen Huiming didn’t say it explicitly, because to say it now would make him seem a bit impatient and frivolous, but he was really thinking that when the two of them returned to Berlin in the future, it would be their own wedding they would be attending then.

       If Suo Yang agreed.

“Okay.” Suo Yang replied with a smile.

Shen Huiming knew that Suo Yang agreed to go back to Berlin together, but he secretly changed the meaning in his heart, which brought him a double good mood.

“Are you getting ready to go to the company?” Suo Yang asked.

“Well, it’s almost time.” Shen Huiming didn’t want to go to work in the first place, and now he’s video calling Suo Yang, he didn’t want to go out even more.

Suo Yang smiled, “Go, I won’t bother you anymore.”

Shen Huiming sighed and said, “I desperately need a vacation to travel around the world with you.”

“There will be a chance,” Suo Yang waved to him, “but before that, you still have to work hard to make money.”

Shen Huiming laughed out loud, and couldn’t help feeling that Suo Yang was being genuine.

“Okay, I’m ready to go out.” Shen Huiming looked at the person on the other side of the video reluctantly and said, “I miss you very much. When you come back, I will pick you up.”

Suo Yang smiled and didn’t answer his words, just said to him, “Drive carefully, don’t get too tired.”

The two said ‘goodbye’ to each other, but it was Suo Yang who hung up the video first.

The video call cut off and the room became quiet again.

Suo Yang raised his hand and pinched his face which was a little sore from smiling, and stared at the phone interface in awe.

After the video ended, Shen Huiming sent another message. He said: Contact me anytime if you have anything to do. You are as important as work.

Suo Yang stared at the message with a smile and replied after a long time: Okay.

Shen Huiming put him in the same position as work, which didn’t make Suo Yang unhappy, on the contrary, he thought it was the right thing to do.

Love and lovers were important, but for a mature and rational adult, one should not be easily carried away by emotions.

In this world, it was realistic that one must first survive and live, and only then we could have the energy to love others well.

If Shen Huiming told him today that he was more important than work, Suo Yang might feel disappointed instead.

The person he had chosen should not be like that.

He stretched and looked out the window.

Suo Yang suddenly discovered that he had not only love for Shen Huiming but also admiration.

He appreciated the other party’s reasoning and his way of dealing with the world.

His sight fell from the scenery outside the window to himself reflected in the glass window. This man in pyjamas with dishevelled hair was so lucky. He was doing a job he liked and met his ideal lover. All of this was too wonderful to believe.

He picked up his phone, opened Weibo, and took a picture of the night scene outside the window. When he posted, he added a few rare words.

He wrote: Missing you on this night in Rio de Janeiro.

A few minutes later, a message came from Zhou Mo: What’s going on? Who did you miss?

Suo Yang never thought of hiding it, and admitted openly: I am in love with Shen Huiming.
