Chapter 101 – I Take You as My Wife

Chapter 101 – I Take You as My Wife

Jian Luo had no idea that what everyone was interested in was not the dried fruits, but the mysterious figure that Lu Shifeng, who helped with advertising, truly was.

Unlike Jian Luo, whose fans were mostly young viewers of live broadcasts, Lu Shifeng was different. His fans spanned all age groups, extending beyond the followers of Dark Star. Fans from various major planets existed in his following.

Jian Luo looked at the data and exclaimed, “Wow, you’re amazing.”

Their focus differed; while Jian Luo was immersed in the joy of finally having someone pre-order the dried fruits (almost reaching twenty million), he could now discuss cooperation with the boss.

Lu Shifeng, with a cold tone, remarked, “Is that so?”

Ignoring his mood, Jian Luo continued to revel in the joy of potential collaboration. He even found time to contact the boss. He located Nie Yan’s contact information and, considering the Dark Star time, it was probably late at night there. The principal might be asleep.

Should he leave a message? Maybe discuss it tomorrow morning.

Considering this, Jian Luo boldly left a message: “Boss, boss, I need to talk to you. If you see this, please reply to me~”

To show sincerity, he even added a cute little bunny emoji at the end.

After sending the message, he prepared mentally on how to convince Nie Yan. After all, this was not a small deal!

Lu Shifeng lifted his head from the comments, seeing Jian Luo in a contemplative state. He squinted and asked, “Did you read those comments too?”

Jian Luo, still lost in his thoughts, absentmindedly nodded, “Mm…”

Lu Shifeng glanced at Jian Luo, trying to find some clues or opinions on the matter from his face.

*Ding Dong.*

Jian Luo’s information terminal chimed.

It was a message from Nie Yan: “I’m here. Speak.”

The boss was online!

A smile suddenly bloomed on Jian Luo’s face. He quickly typed, “Good evening, boss! You’re still not asleep at this late hour?”

When dealing with the boss, one had to be as gentle as a spring breeze.

However, this gentle wind from Jian Luo evidently did not warm the Marshal sitting not far away on the sofa. Lu Shifeng squinted his eyes and lightly opened his thin lips, “Did reading those comments make you happy?”

Jian Luo had just replied to Nie Yan when he got distracted for a moment, not catching the first part of Lu Shifeng’s question. He heard the inquiry about being happy and decisively nodded, “Yes, happy!”

The room’s temperature dropped by a degree.

Given Jian Luo’s long acquaintance with Lu Shifeng, he didn’t feel the overwhelming hostility. If it were anyone else, they might have been intimidated by the Marshal’s aura.

*Ding Dong.*

Just as Jian Luo was about to inquire, there came a reply.

Nie Yan: “Not sleeping. What’s up? You want to sell dried fruits to me?”

!!!

Jian Luo couldn’t help but exclaim, “Wow.” Nie Yan was truly magical, guessing everything before he even said anything. So, he promptly replied, “Boss, you’re incredibly perceptive. Can I explain the details to you?”

Lu Shifeng, seeing Jian Luo’s reaction and recalling his nonchalant remarks earlier, said with a sinister tone, “Found something suitable, huh?”

Jian Luo, still in the midst of negotiating with the boss, was delighted at the mention of “suitable.” “Yes, it’s great.”

Lu Shifeng’s frustration surged. He had worked hard to advertise for Jian Luo, expecting at least some gentle gratitude. Instead, he got irrelevant comments, and to his dismay, Jian Luo seemed content.

He sat up a bit, ready to talk seriously. “Jian Luo…”

But Jian Luo on the sofa stood up abruptly, happily heading outside. “I’m going to make a long-distance call. Keep reading, oh, by the way, there are steamed buns from lunch in the pot. They should still be warm. Help yourself.”

With that, he ran off.

Lu Shifeng was almost dumbfounded. He dared to say that in the past hundreds or thousands of years, since he became the Dragon Lord, no one had dared to be so audacious. If it were anyone else today, they would have met a terrible fate.

But Jian Luo…

Lu Shifeng sat on the sofa, stunned for a moment. Eventually, he stood up and walked towards the door. His efficient secretary asked, “Where are you going, sir?”

“To the kitchen. Jian Luo said there are steamed buns.”

Thinking about this, the Marshal wasn’t as angry anymore. At least, Jian Luo had him in mind, always leaving him meals. Since that’s the case, he could forgive him. After all, he’s still young, inexperienced. Now that he’s worked hard for so long, it’s understandable to be a bit temperamental. Let’s go easy on him.

With this in mind, the Marshal’s lips curved into a smile.

However, the secretary, walking ahead, spoke recklessly, “Luo Luo’s buns are delicious. Not only me, but even the elves say they’re good! They helped a lot today during the livestream, constantly assisting with cooking. There are many buns left from lunch; five people couldn’t finish them, and there are still plenty.”

The corridor was silent, only the sound of footsteps echoing.

Lu Shifeng abruptly stopped, and this sudden halt made the secretary turn her head curiously. What met her gaze were those deep crimson eyes, profound and somewhat intimidating.

She was all too familiar with this look—a gaze that only appeared when Lu Shifeng was in an extremely bad mood.

Then, Marshal spoke, each word deliberate, “So, the food in the kitchen, is it the leftovers from your meal?”

A cold sweat broke out on the secretary’s back. In that moment, she fully understood that if she dared to say a single “yes” today, she might face immediate extinction.

“Well, of course not!” The secretary forced a smile. “Luo Luo specifically left it. He said you must want meat, so he kept two trays of meat buns warm for you.”

After saying this, she felt a significant improvement in the atmosphere.

Although Lu Shifeng didn’t show any particularly obvious expressions, at least there were no more ominous death threats! As a competent secretary, she had the obligation to understand her boss’s likes and dislikes, as well as his mood. According to her own analysis, this matter was actually straightforward; she had been foolish before. Fortunately, the Dragon Clan wasn’t afraid of mistakes because they excelled at turning the tide and rectifying errors!

With this in mind, the secretary spoke boldly, “Sir, please allow me to speak frankly.”

Lu Shifeng glanced at her, “Go ahead.”

“I often take care of Luo Luo, so I have a good understanding of his temperament, if not entirely, at least somewhat. From my observations, Luo Luo is inherently simple and straightforward. For many things, if not approached directly, if not handled with some methods, he may not comprehend them.” The secretary hesitated, “Human life is actually short and fragile. Wasting time can be regrettable.”

Lu Shifeng continued walking down the corridor, his military boots making crisp sounds on the floor. He seemed to be pondering, yet not really. Finally, just as the secretary thought the Marshal wouldn’t pay attention to her, Lu Shifeng lightly opened his thin lips and said, “I’ve already wronged him once before, and that time could be considered an accident.”

“Do we need to cook for a business discussion?”

Jian Luo replied seriously, “No, it’s bribery.”

Lu Shifeng continued to press, “Then why haven’t I seen you bribe me, considering how much you care about me?”

“…”

Jian Luo said, “I did bribe you.”

Lu Shifeng asked, “With what?”

Jian Luo patted his round belly and said, “Mister Dragon Jr.”

The room fell silent again.

After a while.

A smile tugged at the corner of Lu Shifeng’s mouth. The oppressive aura he had before completely disappeared. Facing Jian Luo, he couldn’t muster any anger.

But thinking about what Secretary Jin said during the day, the Marshal also felt that there might be some truth. Perhaps with Jian Luo, being straightforward might be more effective. However, he needed to express it in a way that wasn’t too abrupt.

After some consideration, Lu Shifeng spoke, “Jian Luo.”

Jian Luo, who was doing homework, responded, “Hmm?”

“The Dragon Clan has always been an exclusive group.” Lu Shifeng carefully chose his words, “But now, on behalf of the Dragon Clan, I welcome humans to join us.”

Lu Shifeng approached, their breaths close, the atmosphere somewhat ambiguous. The dim lighting, the gaze meeting, everything spoke without words.

Jian Luo blinked, hesitating, “You’re allowing us humans to work together with you? That’s quite nice.”

“…”

Lu Shifeng remained silent for a while and then spoke solemnly, “No, it’s only for welcoming you specifically, to be recorded into our family records.”

He was already making it really clear.

Jian Luo widened his eyes, finally understanding this time. He never expected for this to happen, “So, can I… be your younger brother? Is there a ceremony for this, like a formal oath to be taken maybe?”

Chapter 4 – Signing for a Role

As one of the Golden Eagle supervisors, Tang Can had always been very efficient in his work. At two o’clock in the afternoon, a man in black appeared in the president’s office on the tenth floor of Huasheng Entertainment Company.

Zhuo Yue, who was sitting on the sofa, stood up nervously when he saw him, and his lips turned a little white. This man worked for a loan shark company and had brought people to his door several times to collect debts. The last time, he smashed the cup and put a sharp glass against his eyes, threatening to stab him in the eye next time if he didn’t pay back the money.

The man only glanced at him and then looked away and said to Fang Mingyan respectfully, “Chairman Fang, I have offended you many times before. I didn’t know he was one of your people, so my methods were a little rough. I apologise.”

Fang Mingyan glanced at the embarrassed expression on Zhuo Yue’s face and smiled lightly, “How much is the balance left?”

The man in black put an IOU on the table and said, “Master Tang has instructed that the principal on the IOU can be repaid slowly. As for the interest, consider it waived.”

This means that not only is the amount of money to be repaid reduced but also there won’t be any further debt collection? Zhuo Yue’s gaze fell on that piece of paper, and there was a trembling excitement.

“Tang Chan has given us such a great deal. It’s embarrassing to keep on owing money.” Fang Mingyan signed a check and handed it to him, “This way, it’s settled. He is an artist under my company, and I don’t want to hear any rumours in the future about him having owed loan sharks.”

“I understand. That will never happen.” The man in black took the check and said goodbye politely.

Zhuo Yue was stunned in place, with confusion in his eyes, as if he still didn’t quite understand what was going on. It took him a long time to ask, “Why did you…”

“You’ve been called ‘my person’. I can’t have you owing external debts indefinitely.” Fang Mingyan casually threw the IOU into the drawer, “It’s just a change of creditor. From now on, I am your creditor, and you owe me this 1.3 million.”

Zhuo Yue knew that he was clarifying social relationships for himself, and a lot of gratitude surged in his heart. He said, “I will work hard to make money and pay it back to you.”

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t work hard.” The man curled his lips and smiled a bit evilly, “I can also open a back door for you to pay for it.”

When Zhuo Yue heard this, even the tips of his ears turned red. He didn’t know where to look and looked at the ground.

The knock on the door at this time solved his dilemma in time.

A woman in her thirties came in, wearing a tight black skirt and a pair of red high heels. Her makeup was exquisite, and she exuded a strong aura when she walked and stood.

“Meet Shen Luo, Director of the Artist Management Department.” Fang Mingyan turned to Shen Luo, “I mentioned him to you, Zhuo Yue.”

“Hello.” Zhuo Yue knew her. Although he had not interacted with her much, he often saw her attending various occasions and accepting interviews on behalf of Huasheng.

“I’ve seen your play, and your acting skills are average.” Shen Luo had no expression on her face when she spoke, with a cold air about her, “If you want to continue playing the role of a young master and live an easy life, I have no objection. After all, you are someone chosen by Chairman Fang. Special treatment will be given under special circumstances. Just let me know when you are willing to take on the role.”

“…Chief Shen, by no means I am… I joined Huasheng, and everything will be subject to the company’s arrangements.” Zhuo Yue became anxious and even spoke faster, “No matter what roles the company arranges for me, I am willing to work hard and perform well…”

Shen Luo seemed to be quite satisfied with his attitude, and her tone softened, “In that case, I will manage you as an ordinary artist. To be clear, my rules are very strict, and sometimes they may make you feel uncomfortable. When something unpleasant happens, I hope to resolve it through communication with you. I don’t like being accused.”

This statement clearly treated Zhuo Yue as a ‘favoured’ individual who was Fang Mingyan’s bed warmer. It was not a wonder for Shen Luo. The gay CEO unexpectedly and unilaterally signed a contract with a fading male actor. Considering the appearance of this male actor, anyone could easily jump to conclusions.

He couldn’t explain anything and anxiously asked Fang Mingyan for help. Unexpectedly, the man just sat leisurely and had no intention of explaining at all. Zhuo Yue was anxious and helpless, not knowing how to clarify. In the end, he lowered his eyes and said, “…I understand.”

“You can take a look at this.” She handed over the folder in her hand.

Zhuo Yue opened it and found a short movie script. He glanced through it quickly and looked up in confusion.

“The number three male member had not yet been decided. You will audition tomorrow.”

The third male? Zhuo Yue was stunned for a moment, then came back to read the script again and suddenly said in embarrassment, “That character is gay, I…”

“Don’t want to act?” Shen Luo looked at him coldly.

“…No,” a hesitant expression appeared on his handsome face, and he spoke softly, “I have never acted in movies, and I’m afraid I might not be able to handle this role.”

“The director of this movie is Xie Anqing, whose box office is guaranteed. With Golden Eagle’s investment, the quality of the movie will never be bad. Your acting career is too narrow. If you can get this role, it will also be a training for your acting skills.” With these words, she had already exhausted her patience, and she furrowed her brows, “If you don’t want to audition, I won’t force you.”

This was Zhu Yue’s first job after changing jobs. He had already said before that he would obey the company’s arrangements. Now he was in a difficult position and could only accept, “…I’ll go. Thank you, Chief Shen, for giving me the opportunity. I will prepare well and do my best to act.”

Shen Luozhuo breathed a sigh of relief when she saw him accepting it like this. She didn’t hate this handsome young man. What she said just now was forced because someone assigned her a task—let him accept the audition. She glanced at Fang Mingyan. The man was sitting leisurely, with an unpredictable smile on his lips and an attitude that had nothing to do with him. Facing such a boss, she only felt pain in her temples. Forget it; she was used to being a villain over the years anyway, so it was not bad if it could make Zhuo Yue feel fear and make him more obedient in the future.

“The assistant I have arranged for you is called Lin Hui. He will pick you up on time at two o’clock tomorrow afternoon.” Shen Luo took a few steps and looked back with a smile, “By the way, if you don’t grasp the role well, you might as well ask Chairman Fang for advice. He has a lot of experience.” After saying that, she walked away on high heels.

       Fang Mingyan: “…”

In the afternoon, Zhuo Yue followed Fang Mingyan’s female secretary, Julie, around the company to get familiar with the environment. Except for meetings, artists were usually away from the company. When they walked around, they only saw busy staff and trainees sweating profusely in various practice rooms. With nothing else to do, he found a quiet spot in the atrium to read the script.

The script had only a section where the male protagonist wanted to confess to the female protagonist but, afraid of failure, decided to rehearse with his best friend, who happened to be gay. The third male was a gay friend who had silently harboured feelings for the male lead. He endured the emotional pain and reluctantly agreed to practice with him. Emotions remained suppressed until the final rehearsal, when, during a kiss scene, the repressed feelings exploded, and he impulsively kissed the male lead.

       How to act?

Zhuo Yue sighed in distress. Acting as a gay was already a challenge for him, but there was also a kissing scene…

He tried to calm down and treat the tall plant in front of him as the male protagonist, investing his emotions in it and reciting his lines line by line. However, when it came to the kiss scene, all he could think about was the scene of being pressed down for a deep kiss by Fang Mingyan on the sofa in the box last night, and even the slightly astringent taste of wine seemed to reappear in his mouth.

Damn it… Why do I keep thinking of this…

Zhuo Yue shook his head, trying to get the fragment out of his head. He tried a few more times, but his expression was still very stiff. It was difficult for him to get into the role for a long time, which made him feel anxious as he paced back and forth in frustration.

When Fang Mingyan came down to see him after finishing his work, Zhuo Yue was squatting in front of a pot of green plants with a frown on his face, twiddling the leaves with his fingers and muttering his lines. The man found it interesting and stood behind him and watched for a while. He saw an upset Zhuo Yue putting his hands on the edge of the flowerpot, frowning and sighing, “How to kiss? I feel like I’m going crazy…”

Fang Mingyan couldn’t help laughing. This was the first time he had seen Zhu Yue like this. The usually serious and cold-faced person went crazy, which was quite interesting.

Zhuo Yue was startled by the sound of laughter, turned around suddenly, and saw it was Fang Mingyan and he stood up in embarrassment, “Why…are you downstair?”

“It’s time to get off work.” The man looked at him jokingly, “Have you finished communicating with this potted plant? If not, I’ll have someone send it home, and you can continue your conversation.”

       “…”

Sitting in Fang Mingyan’s car, Zhuo Yue returned to the lakeside villa area located in the east of the city. It was only now that he noticed the discreet and implicit words at the entrance. Unable to see them clearly last night and forgetting to check this morning, he now realised that the man lived in a place known as ‘Hanguan’, a part of the ‘mysterious rich people zone’. This property belonged to the Golden Eagle Group, with access granted only to acquaintances, making it a highly sought-after residence.

The car passed through the heavily guarded security facilities without any hindrance. Zhuo Yue saw the words ‘No. 15’ on the bronze plate hanging at the entrance of the courtyard.

       Hanguan No.15.

       Fang Mingyan’s home.

It was also where he temporarily lodged.

After dinner, Zhuo Yue offered to wash the dishes.

The servants exchanged awkward glances—the butler with a hesitant expression, the housekeeper with a troubled look. Fang Mingyan sat on the sofa, casually browsing through entertainment news without lifting his head, and said, “Let him wash it up.”

Zhuo Yue had a hard life when he was young. His single mother raised him until the age of six before passing away. No relatives were willing to adopt him, so his distant uncle Zhuo Qing took him in and raised him with his son Zhuo Hai. While the couple couldn’t be said to treat him well, compared to his own son, they really didn’t treat him as well as they treated their own son. Zhuo Yue was already sensible at that time and knew that he was living under someone else’s roof, spending other people’s money, and being taken care of by others, so he often took the initiative to help his adoptive mother with housework.

Zhuo Hai didn’t like his brother, who was one year older than him at all, especially because his mother always praised him for being sensible and studious, which annoyed Zhuo Hai even more. He often bullied Zhuo Yue in different ways, asking him to carry his schoolbag, do homework, and wash clothes for him. As he grew older, he spent his days hanging out with a group of rascals, leading a carefree life without any proper employment.

When Zhuo Yue was working part-time delivering food in high school, he was noticed by the editor-in-chief of a magazine because of his good looks and asked if he would like to be a graphic model. After gaining some experience in shooting, he decided to study acting and earn his tuition fees by himself.

Zhuo Yue neatly washed and dried the dishes and put them in the disinfection cabinet. He walked to Fang Mingyan and said, “If there’s nothing else to do, I’ll go back to my room.

“Are you ready for tomorrow’s performance?” The man raised his eyes and asked.

His expression froze, “Not yet.” He lowered his head in embarrassment, “I can recite those lines, but I don’t know how to put in the emotion…”

“Does kissing a man make you this flustered?” Fang Mingyan looked at him calmly, “As an actor, your duty is to play your role well and show some professionalism.”

Zhuo Yue pursed his lips, and with some shyness, he mustered up the courage to speak, “Can you… help me?”

The man’s lips curled up slightly, and he said, “Go get the script.”

Chapter 12 – The Bus

In addition to the driver, there were also a few passengers sitting in the car.

When the driver saw Song Jun hesitating to get on the bus, he looked over and asked, “Do you want to get in?”

Song Jun felt strange and asked the driver, “Sir, why is there still a bus at this time?”

The driver said, “Oh, the bus broke down just now. It took some time to repair it. Isn’t this the last bus again? We have to make sure to drop off all the passengers at the station.”

After Song Jun heard what he said, he didn’t doubt anything anymore and got on the bus.

There were about four or five people in the car, all sitting in the back rows. Song Jun also habitually sat in the empty seat at the back. There was a woman sitting in front of him. Song Jun didn’t pay close attention to her appearance. He felt very tired after working until now, so he closed his eyes.

After all, he was on the bus, so Song Jun didn’t dare to sleep too deeply and kept paying attention to the bus station announcements.

But after a long time, the radio in the but never sounded, and it never stopped.

Song Jun opened his eyes and looked outside, and suddenly found that it was dark outside, and he had no idea where the bus had driven to.

This was not normal because even late at night, the city was brightly lit, and the street lights everywhere were on, so there would definitely not be a situation of total darkness.

Song Jun was confused just now, and he wondered if he had slept through it.

He couldn’t help but turn around and see that there were still those few people on the bus, all sitting in their original positions with indifferent expressions.

Song Jun began to get nervous at this time. He stood up and walked forward, looking out through the large windshield in front of the bus. With the headlights, he could only see that the bus was still on the same path. Driving on the road, but not much more can be seen.

“Sir, Sir!” He called the driver twice.

The driver turned to look at him, “What’s wrong?”

Song Jun asked, “Where is this place? Have you passed South Road Station?”

The driver said coldly, “We haven’t arrived yet. What’s the rush?”

Song Jun didn’t know whether he should believe it or not. He asked again, “Why is it so dark outside?”

The driver was silent for a moment before answering him, “The power is out.”

Song Jun asked, “How long will it take to arrive?”

At this time, the driver turned around and glared at him fiercely. The expression was so ferocious that Song Jun caught his breath, and he dared not ask again.

Song Jun did not return to his seat. He grabbed the armrest and stood in front for a while. This time, he was sure that more than one stop had passed, but the driver had not stopped at all, and the person sitting on the bus had not gotten off at all. Those people were completely unresponsive.

He didn’t dare to wait any longer and shouted, “Stop! Stop! I want to get off!”

Even if it was dark outside, it was better than staying on this eerie bus.

However, after Song Jun shouted loudly, the driver pulled over. The bus came to a stop, and the rear doors opened promptly.

He stood in front of the car door. Song Jun saw the darkness outside, and the bus door was like a monster’s mouth that was about to swallow him in the next second.

Despite his fear, Song Jun got out of the car.

However, Song Jun was not the only one who got off the bus. The woman who was sitting in front of him also got off the bus after him.

The door closed, and the bus continued to drive forward.

Song Jun stood on the side of the road and was stunned for a while. His eyes adjusted to the darkness around him, and he realised that he was not in the city centre at all, but he didn’t know where he was in the wilderness.

The woman stood not far from him and did not move.

Song Jun glanced at her and saw that she lowered her head and kept looking at her toes.

After hesitating for a moment, Song Jun did not speak to the woman but walked in the opposite direction to the bus. The woman actually followed him over.

Song Jun couldn’t help but pay attention to the woman behind him as if he was afraid that she would pounce on him and strangle him in the next second.

However, that didn’t happen. The woman just kept following Song Jun.

Until Song Jun stopped, turned around and asked, “Why are you following me?”

The woman raised her head to look at him. She was a young and beautiful woman, she looked to be in her early twenties, wearing a beautiful and elegant long dress with a small coat outside.

She smiled, simple and gentle, and said to Song Jun, “Are you lost?”

Song Jun looked at the young woman who looked like a rich lady in front of him and felt that she did not look like a monster or a bad person, but he still couldn’t help but be wary and asked, “Who are you?”

The woman waved her hand and said, “Don’t get me wrong, I felt something strange on that bus just now, but I didn’t dare to speak. When I heard you ask to stop, I immediately followed you.”

Although he was still sceptical, Song Jun had to admit that he was slightly relieved after hearing the woman say this.

It was better to know that someone was with him in this unfamiliar environment than to be alone and scared.

“Where are you going?” Song Jun asked, and he began to think that he might be able to send this woman home first.

The woman smiled, with a friendly look on her face, and said, “Actually, I live not far from here. I thought you couldn’t find your way back, so I want you to come to my house first.”

Song Jun suddenly became wary again. He didn’t believe it was such a coincidence. This woman obviously followed him and got off near him, so how could she conveniently live in the vicinity?

The woman seemed to see that Song Jun didn’t believe it, so she didn’t extend the invitation again. She said, “Then I’ll walk with you for a while and see if you can get a taxi.”

Song Jun didn’t know how to answer her, so he continued walking forward silently.

As they walked, the woman introduced herself, “My name is Tu Zhenzhen, and I am a student at University C.”

Song Jun paused for a moment, “You’re also from University C?”

“Huh?” Tu Zhenzhen said in a very excited tone, “Are you too?”

       Song Jun nodded.

Tu Zhenzhen said, “What a coincidence. I am studying fashion design, and I am in my third year of college this year.”

Song Jun stopped and turned around to see Tu Zhenzhen looking at him strangely. He hesitated and said, “Where is your home? I’d better take you back first.”

Tu Zhenzhen smiled when she heard this, tilted her head and said, “No, I see you are very scared, so I’d better see you off. There might be a taxi ahead.”

Song Jun was embarrassed by what she said. He himself was in a daze and a little wary. He also felt that this girl, who was younger than him, should not be a bad person. He thought for a while and felt that it would be better to send Tu Zhenzhen back first.

Song Jun said, “Let me take you back. Didn’t you say it’s not far?”

Tu Zhenzhen said, “Hmm…” He hesitated for a moment and said, “Okay, if you’re not afraid, you can go in and sit for a while and then leave after dawn.”

After saying that, Tu Zhenzhen raised her hand and pointed to a place not far away, “It’s right there.”

Song Jun looked in the direction she pointed and found that there was a two-story villa along the path. The villa was lit up and was the only lit building nearby.

Song Jun followed her in that direction and asked curiously, “Are your parents at home?”

Tu Zhenzhen shook her head, “No.”

After she said this, she said nothing more, so it was not convenient for Song Jun to continue asking.

After accompanying Tu Zhenzhen to the door of her house, Song Jun planned to leave.

Tu Zhenzhen opened the door to the room, and a warm yellow light suddenly shone out from inside, looking very reassuring. Tu Zhenzhen said to Song Jun, “Come in and sit down. Even though you are a guy, it is too dangerous to walk alone at night.”

Perhaps it was because bright light would make people feel at ease. Song Jun saw the bright and comfortable look inside the living room and instantly did not want to go back to the darkness.

Tu Zhenzhen didn’t force him. She just stood by the door and invited him.

       Song Jun hesitated.

Tu Zhenzhen said, “Why don’t you come in and I’ll get you a glass of water, and take a rest.”

Song Jun finally nodded and followed Tu Zhenzhen into the house.

Tu Zhenzhen warmly invited him to sit down on the sofa and turned on the TV for him. Song Jun suddenly felt that this kind of warmth and comfort made him feel safe. Maybe he was thinking too much. He could really stay here. For example, maybe he could sleep on a large and soft sofa and wait until dawn before leaving.

Tu Zhenzhen poured him a cup of tea and asked him if he wanted to call a family member or friend to pick him up.

Song Jun saw that it was already one-thirty in the morning and almost two o’clock in the morning. He shook his head and said no. The only people he could think of now were Senior Brother Xia and Senior Brother Bu. No matter which one, he was embarrassed to make calls at this time to disturb people’s sleep.

At this time, Song Jun heard a man’s voice from upstairs, shouting, “Zhenzhen!”

Song Jun was stunned. The man’s voice did not sound young. He sounded like Tu Zhenzhen’s father, but she had just said that her parents were not at home.

Then, Song Jun heard a rapid cough coming from upstairs.

Tu Zhenzhen quickly said to Song Jun, “Sit down for a moment. I’ll go up and take a look first.” After saying that, she hurried upstairs.

Song Jun picked up the teacup and looked at it, then put it down after a slight hesitation. The presence of a man in the room made him feel a little concerned. He felt that the most basic precautions should be taken.

The decoration and furnishings in the room looked simple and elegant. There were two large blue and white porcelain vases next to the TV cabinet, which looked expensive.

Song Jun stood up and couldn’t help but look around the room, noticing a faint fragrance in the air.

From time to time, the sound of a man coughing and the sound of two people talking in low voices came from the second floor. Song Jun couldn’t hear clearly what they were talking about, and he didn’t have the nerve to get closer to eavesdrop.

There was a small makeup mirror placed on top of the speaker next to the TV cabinet. Song Jun didn’t notice it at first. When he passed by, he suddenly noticed from the corner of his eye that the person in the mirror was not himself but a wrinkled face. old man.

After being stunned for a moment, Song Jun came closer to take a closer look and found that it was still himself that was reflected in the mirror. There was nothing strange about it. The picture he just saw seemed to be just an illusion.
