Chapter 4 – Cheng Ruijing

“Have you heard the legend of the mirror at the Faculty of Pharmacy? It’s said that on the right staircase from the first floor to the second floor of the Faculty of Pharmacy, there is a mirror at the corner. Normally, you can’t see anything in it, but at midnight, if you look into the mirror, you can see the most terrifying things.”

       “What?”

“Everyone’s most terrifying thing is different. For example, if you’re very beautiful, you might see yourself ageing; if you’re scared of ghosts, you might see a long-haired woman covering her face, standing behind you and so on… But that’s not important. The most important part is the origin of the mirror. It is said to have come from the old building of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The Faculty of Pharmacy used to have a three-story old building with a wooden structure and a small attic on each side. The mirror was supposedly kept in one of these attics. Later, a fire destroyed the old building completely. At that time, a senior sister was studying alone in the loft. While trying to escape, she got her leg broken by the falling mirror and couldn’t make it out, ultimately burning to death.”

       “It’s so tragic…”

“Later, when the new Faculty of Pharmacy building was constructed, the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, passing through the first floor, suggested adding a mirror here for students to tidy up their appearance. Somehow, someone brought the old mirror from the previous Faculty of Pharmacy building, and since then, there have been many creepy stories. Eventually, the building manager moved the mirror to the staircase area because no one usually passed by there. Then, one night, there was a power outage…”

“Ah—” the girl at the next table suddenly screamed.

Song Jun almost dropped his chopsticks because of her.

Then the girl said, “Stop it, I’m not listening!”

The girl opposite her, who was telling a campus legend, curled her lips and said, “Never mind, don’t listen then.”

Song Jun quickly scooped up two mouthfuls of rice, picked up his tray, and left.

He didn’t know whether the story the girl told was true or not, but the Faculty of Pharmacy building always seemed so weird to him, and he didn’t want to go into that place if he didn’t have to.

He came out of the cafeteria and went back to take a nap. When he woke up, his head was covered with sweat. The small fan was whirring, but it didn’t have much effect. He hesitated and wanted to take his notebook to the laboratory to read the literature, but again, he was worried that he would not be familiar with the senior brothers and sisters in the laboratory, and it would not be good to rush there. He should wait until Zhou Yingchun allowed him to officially enter the laboratory.

In the evening, Song Jun saw the black cat again. At that time, he took a shower and was wearing only a pair of underwear in the room. The black cat silently ran to his window and stared at him.

Song Jun had nothing to feed it, so he carefully reached out and touched its head. Seeing that it didn’t resist, he gently scratched it with his fingers.

The black cat’s eyes narrowed, with a look of enjoyment on his face. Later, he lay on his side on the ground and jumped out of the window after its fur was smoothed by Song Jun all night.

The next day, Song Jun went to the supermarket outside and bought a small bag of cat food. He planned to feed the black cat some cat food if it came again, but he didn’t know if it would like it.

In the end, that night, Song Jun did not wait for the little black cat to come but received a call from Bu Hui.

As soon as Song Jun picked up the phone, Bu Hui said, “Junior brother, please do me a favour.”

It turned out that Bu Hui was still in the hospital at this time. He admitted two patients in the afternoon and was still busy writing medical records. He had just received a call from his girlfriend, Cheng Ruijing, saying that she was locked in the laboratory and was now alone and scared. He asked Bu Hui to go to the administrator on the first floor to get the key and then come up to pick her up.

Song Jun was immediately nervous when he heard about the laboratory because if he remembered correctly, Bu Hui’s girlfriend was a student at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Sure enough, Bu Hui told Song Jun on the phone that he really couldn’t leave now and asked Song Jun to help him go to the Faculty of Pharmacy building to find the administrator and then go to the seventh floor to help open the door.

In fact, at that time, Song Jun didn’t quite understand why Cheng Ruijing was locked in the laboratory, but hearing that Bu Hui was very busy and anxious, he didn’t have the nerve to refuse, so he had to agree.

After that, Bu Hui sent him another text message and gave him Cheng Ruijing’s mobile phone number.

Song Jun put away his mobile phone, opened the door and glanced at Xia Hongshen’s room across his. The door was still closed, probably because he hadn’t come back yet, because he hadn’t heard the other party’s footsteps coming back.

Song Jun had some mental trauma about the Faculty of Pharmacy building, but he just agreed to Bu Hui’s request. He also thought that Cheng Ruijing, a girl, was locked upstairs, which was really scary, so he had to muster up the courage to go there again.

When Song Jun walked inside the school, he felt that it was no different from usual. The Faculty of Pharmacy building looked peaceful and peaceful from the outside, without any abnormalities.

What happened that night seemed like a dream or a hallucination. He couldn’t get downstairs, but he didn’t see anything.

Song Jun planned to go in and directly find the administrator, then go up to the seventh floor together. That way, there wouldn’t be anything to be afraid of.

However, after entering the Faculty of Pharmacy building, Song Jun did not find the administrator. The door of the building administrator’s room was open, and the TV inside was still playing TV images.

He walked around the first floor and tried standing near the administrator’s room to shout out to the administrator, but he got no response.

At this time, Bu Hui called again. Bu Hui asked him if he had arrived. He said that Cheng Ruijing was alone upstairs and was very scared.

Song Jun was a little helpless. After hanging up the phone, he stood there and hesitated for a while.

At this time, a man and a woman happened to come in from outside, talking and walking towards the elevator. Song Jun immediately followed them and got into the elevator with them.

The couple took the elevator to the fifth floor and went out. Song Jun sat alone on the seventh floor. When the elevator door opened, he walked out and turned the corner before realising why Cheng Ruijing had been locked inside.

There was a security door in the corridor, which was like a fence, dividing the corridor into two halves. Song Jun shouted, “Senior Sister Cheng?”

Soon, someone responded to him. Cheng Ruijing ran out of a room inside the security door and asked, “Is the administrator here?”

Song Jun shook his head, “I didn’t find the administrator.”

Cheng Ruijing was very disappointed, but when she saw Song Jun, she seemed less scared. She walked towards Song Jun and stood across an iron gate from him, complaining, “I closed the door for a while inside and forgot to tell them. As a result, when they left, I got locked out! It’s so frustrating!”

Song Jun subconsciously reached out and pushed the security door, but unfortunately, it couldn’t be pushed.

Cheng Ruijing said, “What should I do? Is the administrator not here?”

Song Jun said, “There was no one when I came here. Where are your classmates? Ask them to come back and open the door?”

Cheng Ruijing said, “The one with the key said he went out to eat and might not be back until after nine o’clock.”

Song Jun was helpless, “What should we do? You wait here for a moment, and I’ll try to find the administrator again.”

Cheng Ruijing reached out and grabbed the iron door, “Don’t leave. I feel very scared alone. You know, Senior Sister Tian just jumped from the building a few days ago.”

Song Jun was about to speak when he suddenly froze. He suddenly stuttered and asked, “Are you alone here?”

Cheng Ruijing saw his expression change and said strangely, “Yes, I am the only one here.”

What she didn’t know was that Song Jun had just seen a pair of red high-heeled shoes standing there in the bathroom two doors away from Cheng Ruijing.

From Song Jun’s position, he could only see a little bit of the tip of the shoe sticking out. It looked more like a person standing with legs together behind the corner of the wall, with a little bit of the tip of the shoe sticking out.

Cheng Ruijing noticed that Song Jun’s expression was getting worse and worse. and suddenly became a little nervous. She lowered her voice and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Song Jun wanted to tell her: Look back. Is there a pair of shoes or a person standing there? But he didn’t dare to say it. He was afraid that he would scare Cheng Ruijing, and he was even more afraid that Cheng Ruijing would confirm something once she looked back.

“What should I do?” Cheng Ruijing was still struggling. She planned to call Bu Hui again to urge him to come over. She felt that the junior brother in front of her was a bit dull and unreliable.

Just when Cheng Ruijing took out her cell phone, she saw Song Jun’s eyes suddenly filled with fear.

It was fear because, at that moment, Song Jun saw a hand sticking out from the corner of the wall and gouging at the edge of the wall, and the nails of the fingers were dyed with bright red nail polish.

Cheng Ruijing was frightened by Song Jun’s eyes and immediately turned around to look.

But at this moment, the elevator made a ‘ding’ sound, and then the elevator door opened, and someone walked out.

Song Jun and Cheng Ruijing were attracted by the sound at the same time and turned to look, only to find that it was Bu Hui who came up with the administrator on the first floor.

       Cheng Ruijing suddenly became happy.

Song Jun turned around to look again, but he could no longer see the tips of the shoes and fingers.

The administrator complained as he came over to get the key and opened the security door.

Cheng Ruijing lost his temper with Bu Hui, blaming him for coming too late. Bu Hui looked troubled, “Lady, do you know that it was hard for me to find someone to help me get off work, and I have to rush back soon.”

Song Jun was a little embarrassed when he heard this and said to Bu Hui, “I’m sorry, Senior Brother Bu.”

Bu Hui patted him on the shoulder and said, “What are you sorry for? Junior brother, I want to thank you for coming all this way. I’ll treat you to a meal another day.”

Cheng Ruijing went back to the laboratory to pack her small backpack. Song Jun subconsciously took a few steps forward, wanting to go to the bathroom door to have a look, but Bu Hui suddenly grabbed his arm.

Bu Hui said, “That’s the women’s restroom over there, and the men’s restroom is in the opposite corridor.”

       Song Jun had to stop.

Cheng Ruijing packed up her things and came out. The administrator locked the iron door again and turned off the lights in the corridor on this floor.

With so many people together, Song Jun didn’t feel scared, but he was still worried about the scene he just saw.

But until they entered the elevator, they didn’t see anyone else on this floor.

Song Jun felt like he might have run into something ominous. All those strange events happened inside the Faculty of Pharmacy building. Thinking about the senior sister from the Faculty of Pharmacy who jumped off the building, Song Jun was more inclined to believe that the Faculty of Pharmacy building was haunted.

But why did it only happen to him every time? Cheng Ruijing stayed alone for such a long time and obviously didn’t see anything.

Song Jun didn’t know what to do. If he talked about this kind of thing, no one would believe it, right? Maybe he should go to a temple, pay respects, and ask a monk to perform some rituals?

In the midst of random thoughts, Song Jun gradually fell asleep. After dawn, what happened last night seemed not so scary anymore.

He didn’t sleep well that night. The next day, Song Jun went to see Zhou Yingchun in the morning. Zhou Yingchun took him to the laboratory so that he could start to familiarise himself with operating the laboratory’s instruments. There were many senior brothers and sisters in the same laboratory, but Zhou Yingchun was currently only mentoring him.

For this reason, Zhou Yingchun took him to the pathology teaching and research office downstairs that day and found Xia Hongshen.

Xia Hongshen was writing something in the office. When Song Jun followed Zhou Yingchun, he saw Xia Hongshen wearing glasses and a white coat. He was a little startled. Song Jun found this version of Xia Hongshen so good-looking that it was almost frightening. There was even a hint of indescribable restraint in his appearance.

When Xia Hongshen faced Zhou Yingchun, his attitude was not very warm, and when he heard Zhou Yingchun ask him to help take care of Song Jun, he did not refuse.

Before they left, Xia Hongshen turned the signature pen between his fingers and said to Song Jun, “If you have any questions, you can come to me.”

In the afternoon, Song Jun went back to the dormitory at around three o’clock.

As soon as he opened the door, he heard footsteps going up the stairs. Those were not the footsteps of Bu Hui or Xia Hongshen but the footsteps of a woman wearing high heels.

Song Jun stood there, and after a while, he saw a foot wearing red high heels stepping into the corridor.

The person who came was Cheng Ruijing.

Cheng Ruijing was wearing a white dress and red high heels today. She seemed to be carefully dressed up, but she didn’t seem to be in a good mood. After going upstairs, she walked towards Bu Hui’s room.

Song Jun said to her, “Senior Sister Cheng, Senior Brother Bu is not here.”

“Not here, huh.” Cheng Ruijing repeated, standing there and not looking like she was leaving.

Song Jun hesitated for a moment, seeing that Cheng Ruijing was not leaving, and he was too embarrassed to enter the room and leave her alone in the corridor, so he said, “Senior sister, would you like to go to my room and sit for a while? Maybe Senior Brother Bu will be back later.”

Cheng Ruijing looked towards him and said, “Okay.”

Song Jun invited Cheng Ruijing into the room to sit down. He saw that his room was a bit messy and tidied it up.

Cheng Ruijing sat upright on the stool, reaching out and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

Song Jun noticed that her fingers were painted with red nail polish, which looked exactly the same colour as the fingernails of the hand that appeared in the Faculty of Pharmacy building last night.

Song Jun suddenly felt an inexplicable chill, but seeing that Cheng Ruijing’s expression was very calm, he restrained his random thoughts and said, “Sit down for a moment, Senior Sister and I’ll go get some water to boil.”

Song Jun took his electric kettle out, walked to the water room to fill it up, and then returned to the room.

The door was open when he left. When he looked in, he found that Cheng Ruijing, who was originally sitting on a chair, had disappeared. Perplexed, he pushed the door open and saw Cheng Ruijing sitting on his bed.

Cheng Ruijing sat beside Song Jun’s bed and put down the mosquito net Song Jun bought the day before yesterday to cover her upper body, leaving only one pair of legs exposed and bright red nails digging into the bedside.

Song Jun suddenly felt that this kind of Cheng Ruijing was too scary. He took two steps back toward the door and felt he bumped into someone. When he turned around, he found that it was Xia Hongshen.

Xia Hongshen reached out to catch him and also grabbed the kettle that he almost dropped on the ground.

“What?” Xia Hongshen’s usually slow voice sounded.

Song Jun turned around and grabbed Xia Hongshen’s arm and shouted, “Senior Brother Xia!”

Chapter 69

Because he had prepared for the worst before coming here, any slight concession from the other side was an unexpected surprise for Suo Yang.

The two of them had obviously returned to Suo Yang’s home, but they were as reserved as strangers.

They stood at the door awkwardly, not knowing which way to go, just waiting for the owner to give them orders.

       “Go wash your hands.”

Suo Yang’s mother came out of the kitchen and pointed in the direction of the bathroom.

So, the two grown men walked to the bathroom in a polite manner, not daring to say a word during the process.

Shen Huiming was very curious. He didn’t know whether the atmosphere in Suo Yang’s family was originally like this or whether it became like this after he came out of the closet. If it had always been like this, it would have been too depressing.

While washing his hands, Suo Yang glanced at Shen Huiming in the mirror and then said softly, “They are like this most of the time.”

Shen Huiming looked at him in surprise.

Suo Yang didn’t say much because he was worried about being overheard by his parents. Some words were better said by the two of them alone.

After washing their hands, the two of them were called to sit down at the dining table and prepare to eat.

This meal made Shen Huiming very stressed. Although Suo Yang’s parents did not show too much attention to him, the feeling was worse than being ‘checked on the household registration’.

From beginning to end, Shen Huiming was only asked three questions.

First question: What do you do for a living?

Second question: Where do you live?

The third question: What do your parents think of their relationship?

Shen Huiming answered each one seriously, “I have a small company of my own, and the current profits are pretty good.”

“My hometown is the city where Suo Yang lives now. I went to university and postgraduate school abroad, and now I live separately from my parents after I came back.”

“I told my family about my sexual orientation a long time ago. My parents have also met Suo Yang and they like him very much.”

With every question and answer, Shen Huiming felt like he was in an interview.

When they were talking, Suo Yang never said a word. He just sat and ate silently, listening to their conversation.

As for Suo Yang, he had not been back for many years, and there was no excitement or joy in the family of three’s reunion.

Suo Yang rarely took the initiative to find topics in front of his parents. He only asked a few questions about how they were doing and how their work was going. His parents’ answers were simple, like a simple conversation with an unfamiliar person.

Shen Huiming felt quite uncomfortable when he heard this, but after all, he was in someone else’s home, and he couldn’t say anything more, so he could only suppress his distress for the time being.

After Suo Yang asked about their current situation, his parents also asked him back, their tone still flat to a bit indifferent.

Suo Yang’s father asked him, “Is work going well?”

“Well, I have been flying international flights for several years. I have been upgraded to first class, and my salary is better than before.”

Suo Yang’s mother asked him, “You haven’t encountered any difficulties in life, right?”

“No, everything is fine.” Suo Yang paused and then said, “There are no difficulties, but there are quite a few good things.”

Shen Huiming saw the two people sitting across from him pause with their hands holding chopsticks, and he also turned to look at Suo Yang.

Suo Yang was calm, and his expression and tone did not change when he spoke. He talked about things between him and Shen Huiming as if casually discussing the weather with his parents, “Huiming and I are in the process of completing all the necessary procedures. Once everything is in order, we plan to get married in Berlin.”

Shen Huiming suddenly felt a little panicked. He felt that Suo Yang’s parents were obviously not willing to accept their relationship, so it was better not to mention it now and take things slowly in the future.

But in fact, Suo Yang was their son after all and knew them better than Shen Huiming.

If they didn’t accept them, they wouldn’t be allowed in today at all.

Suo Yang knew that his parents were the type of people who couldn’t express their emotions, or in other rather, they were unwilling to. Instead of displaying joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness on their faces and exposing all their emotions, they preferred to conceal their true thoughts.

In fact, Suo Yang was like this before; only he displayed a false affability to others while they showed indifference.

At the end of the day, it’s all the same thing.

If it weren’t for Shen Huiming, Suo Yang might have ended up like his parents, who deliberately hid their emotions and feelings at first, and in the end, the ability to feel and express them gradually deteriorated.

Suo Yang said, “My life has never been too bad, and there weren’t any exceptionally good things either. But after meeting Huiming, good things have been happening continuously.”

The two people opposite were eating and listening without making any comments.

Suo Yang stopped talking after saying this. His heart was beating fast, but nothing was abnormal on the surface.

Shen Huiming was convinced of this family. If he was allowed to live in such an atmosphere, he may become depressed in just a few days, let alone a few years.

“I understand.” Suo Yang’s mother finally responded.

In this way, after finishing the meal in such an awkward and delicate atmosphere and putting down his chopsticks, Shen Huiming originally planned to help clean up, but then he heard Suo Yang’s father asking what time they would drive back.

This was simply an eviction order.

Suo Yang said, “We have booked a hotel for tomorrow.”

They walked to the door, and the first meeting between Shen Huiming and Suo Yang’s parents was coming to an end.

It might as well be over, Shen Huiming thought; if this continued, he almost didn’t know if he should breathe.

When the two of them changed their shoes and were about to go out, Suo Yang’s father stopped them.

“Wait a minute.” Suo Yang’s father entered the house and came out soon, holding a bank card in his hand.

“The money you transferred over the years.” Suo Yang’s father handed the card to him, “We haven’t touched any of it. The password is your birthday.”

       Shen Huiming frowned subconsciously.

Suo Yang also frowned at the same time. He never thought that in the end, he would be stabbed in the heart.

He thought that the door of the house had opened for him, and even if there was no warm hug, at least it had begun to relax. But it turned out that he was overthinking it.

He was stunned but finally took the bank card.

Suo Yang left with Shen Huiming, went downstairs and walked out of the community without looking back.

In the winter afternoon, the sunshine was actually gentle, but Suo Yang felt somewhat cold.

He walked quickly outside the neighbourhood, not even having the extra energy to see if Shen Huiming was following him.

After exiting the neighbourhood gate and turning a corner, Suo Yang walked into the alley and squatted down with his back against the wall.

Shen Huiming had never seen him like this before, and he felt as much pain as if he had been on a torture device.

He went over, squatted next to Suo Yang, and gently stroked Suo Yang’s hair.

In winter, the white mist they exhaled swirled around, and Shen Huiming suddenly felt that it was very cold today. If Suo Yang cried here, his tears would probably freeze.

But Suo Yang didn’t cry. He just squatted there for a while and then grabbed Shen Huiming’s hand.

His head was buried in his arms, and his hands held Shen Huiming tightly.

Shen Huiming stayed with him quietly, watching him, waiting for him to slowly adjust his emotions.

Suo Yang said before that there was nothing too bad in his life, but Shen Huiming knew it, so he just didn’t say it.

In this way, the two of them squatted at the alley entrance for a long time until their legs became numb.

They helped each other stand up, and Suo Yang smiled, “We seem to be in our seventies.”

Shen Huiming saw him smiling, but he couldn’t breathe a sigh of relief. He hugged him over distressedly and leaned against the wall together to relieve the soreness and numbness in his legs.

“There is a bank in front.” Suo Yang said, “Come with me.”

Shen Huiming looked at him doubtfully.

Suo Yang put his hand in his pocket and held the bank card, “If they don’t want this money, then so be it. I’ll transfer it to my own account, and maybe I can make an early payment on the mortgage for the house.”

He spoke very softly, and every word drifted away with the white mist he exhaled.

However, these words were particularly weighty and weighed heavily on Shen Huiming’s heart.

“Where will you take me to reminisce about your youth later?” Shen Huiming took his hand and walked towards the bank, deliberately changing the subject.

“Go to my school, my high school,” Suo Yang said, “go to the big tree where I was confessed to by a girl, and confess your love to me again.”

Shen Huiming smiled and nodded, “Okay, as long as I can get in, I can confess my love ten thousand times.”

Both of them laughed, but their hearts were sour.

Suo Yang and the others went to the bank’s self-service deposit and withdrawal machine. He just didn’t want to keep the card because it was hard to look at.

However, when he inserted the card and entered the password, he found that everything was not the case.

The money in this card was far more than what he had transferred to his parents in the past few years, even several times more.

“What’s wrong?” Shen Huiming stood behind him. After waiting for a while, he found that Suo Yang was standing there motionless. He was a little worried and went up to ask.

“Huiming,” Suo Yang said to Shen Huiming, staring at the balance above, “they lied to me.”

       “What?”

“This is not just the money I transferred to them.” Suo Yang choked up when he said this. “The money I transferred in the past few years has only been tens of thousands, but here is 300,000.”

This time, Shen Huiming was also confused.

       “You read that right?”

Suo Yang pulled him over, “Look.”

Shen Huiming glanced at the screen, frowned and said, “It’s true.”

When he turned his head, he found tears on Suo Yang’s face.

“I still misunderstood them.” Suo Yang raised his hand, wiped the tears from his face, and said with a smile, “They still want me.”

Seeing him like this, Shen Huiming couldn’t hold himself any longer and went over to hug him in his arms.

Shen Huiming didn’t know what to say at all. He couldn’t criticize Suo Yang’s parents because they were his lover’s family after all, but it was undeniable that the way they expressed their feelings was really not acceptable. He didn’t know if it was a knife or candy.

Shen Huiming was so distressed that he hugged Suo Yang tightly and gently stroked his back, “Yes, they have figured it out.”

Suo Yang closed his eyes and bit Shen Huiming’s shoulder.

He tried his best not to cry out, but the more he tried to restrain himself, the more he couldn’t control himself.

He was so uncomfortable; he had suppressed it for so many years, and it could finally be released today.

The knot that was about to strangle him was finally untied today.

Suo Yang didn’t blame his parents at all because he understood them, and actions that were incomprehensible to others actually had a sense of grace to Suo Yang.

It was already good to be like this.

Suo Yang bit Shen Huiming’s shoulder and still cried.

Thank you to the little angels who voted for me or irrigated the nutrient solution between 2020-06-09 06:04:17~2020-06-10 06:04:36~

Thank you very much for your support, I will continue to work hard!

Notes:
It’ll be nice if the parents change, but I really doubt it. The fact that most parents are like this breaks my heart, and the fact that nowadays, most children just don’t want to understand their parents breaks my heart even more. Some parents are awkward as hell in showing emotions, and that’s just… how they are…
But I think the parents knew about Suo Yang’s plane accident…

Chapter 4 – The Capital (1)

       —Imperial Starship.—

Skarter, the youngest general in the empire, was crossing his legs, watching the emperor change back into his commander’s uniform.

“Fortunately, I had the foresight to bring a new mask.” Skarter said proudly, “Since the Cabinet found out about your unauthorized actions, the Prime Minister’s tea set at home probably needs to be replaced with a brand new one.”

Moschery’s attitude was always noncommittal. The old butler Ba Jin, carefully held up the hem of the red cloak. Skarter bowed gracefully. He held a corner of the other man’s cloak, lowered his head and kissed it gently, “Welcome back, Your Majesty.”

The golden mask was engraved with exquisite dragon-shaped patterns, covering the left half of Moschery’s eye. He lowered his head and looked at Skarter quietly, “What is Berlin trying to pull again?”

“Ah, you have to understand. After all, the Cabinet’s top priority is to get whichever of the 60% high-level guides in hand to your bed, but…” Skarter sniffed and said somewhat gloatingly, “But it looks like they’re going to be disappointed… By the way, what about that little sweetheart you marked? Why didn’t you bring them along?”

Moschery frowned calmly, “It’s just the most basic mental mark. It will be automatically lifted after half a month, not to mention he is not a sweetheart anyway.”

Skarter had an ‘Are you kidding me?!’ look on her face.

“Honestly.” Moschery sized him up critically, “That man is about the same height as you, General.”

       Skarter: “…”

After the spacecraft entered the established orbit, there was no longer a need for manual operation. Moschery sat in the command centre in the commander’s chair, propping up his head, browsing web pages on the smart tablet in front of him.

Skarter had a headache when he saw him take out the smart tablet with the back covered with sparkling rhinestones. He really couldn’t figure out why His Majesty the Emperor was so obsessed with this kind of antique that was popular on Earth in the 21st century…

“Can’t you just look at the screen?” Skarter suggested tactfully, “No need to hold it. You can still see clearly… Huh? It’s really rare that you would actually be interested in a guide?”

Most of the guide’s military materials were classified as confidential. Although Moschery’s authority was completely unhindered, he was not willing to be manipulated by others. Fortunately, Qin Yun was only a low-level guide.

“Hey, is this your little sweetheart?” Skarter glanced at the information page. Qin Yun’s personal description could be said to be very detailed, from height and weight to skills, and the photos were even 3D high-definition full body pictures, “Spiritual link …None?! Are you kidding me?!”

       Moschery frowned, “Shut up.”

“Don’t tell people to shut up just because you’re upset!” Skarter protested, “Are you going to kill this guy?! Ha! Mental mark?! Has he gone insane??”

Skarter paused, and he confirmed again with some disbelief, “He hasn’t gone insane…?”

Moschery looked at him like he was an idiot.

Skarter was embarrassed, “Okay, I’m just confirming… After all, this is an issue related to the military guide… Okay! Don’t look at me like that! Do you know how many times I’ve wiped your arse for you?!”

“Oh?” Moschery held his chin up as he finally seemed to get some interest, “Tell me about it.”

“…” Skarter surrendered, “Okay, let’s get down to business… You have to know that Olympus submitted a complaint to our cabinet just half an hour ago.” He looked at the young emperor with a serious expression, ” One of their high-level guides was forced to a bonding heat on the battlefield, and the ‘compatible’ sentinel failed to fulfil his responsibility.”

“Responsibility?” Moschery sneered, “It’s none of my business if he can’t control the pheromones himself.”

“Stop joking. Are you really going to say ‘none of my business’ to them?” Skarter rolled his eyes, “It is no longer the law of the earth hundreds of years ago. The ‘Universal Guide Protection Law’ stipulates that once the guide produced bonding heat on the pheromones of a ‘single’ sentinel, then the ‘single’ sentinel must mark the guide that generated bonding heat.”

Skarter’s expression was sacred as he said, “This is called: Since I’ve seduced you, you must aggressively dominate me.”

       Moschery: “…”

Tristana’s drool ran down her neck when she was forcibly dragged out of bed early in the morning. The honour guard airship representing the Secretary of State almost destroyed the turf in her yard.

Lin Dongliang touched his nose apologetically, “…Next time, report to His Majesty. Plant whatever you want; it’s completely fine.”

Tristana looked at him with hatred on her face, “I haven’t even put on any make-up, though?!” The female general pointed at her hair angrily, “Are you sure you want me to fight with this look?!”

“I think it’s pretty good.” Lin Dongliang said sincerely, “It’s very impactful.”

       Tristana: “…”

The two of them could see the Cabinet’s flag in the distance before they arrived at the palace. Tristana crossed her long legs on the dashboard and clicked her tongue impatiently, “Only at times like this that old women run fast. I really hope when we got in, she and Olympus were already done tearing each other apart.”

Lin Dongliang smiled, “To a certain extent, Mrs. Berlin’s purpose actually coincides with Olympus.”

Tristana made a face. Before she got off the airship, she suddenly remembered something and said in panic, “Crap… I almost forgot, did you bring a stabiliser?!”

Lin Dongliang silently took out two tubes of injections.

Tristana breathed a sigh of relief. She finished the injection quickly and looked at the Secretary of State with some suspicion, “You don’t need it? Your Majesty’s pheromones are no joke.”

Lin Dongliang’s expression stiffened for a second, and then he coughed awkwardly, “I…well, I had injected before.”

Tristana frowned and covered her nose, “Really…but why do I always feel like you smell like a cold-blooded animal…”

       Lin Dongliang: “…”

Compared to Tristana’s casualness, Mrs. Berlin’s attire could be said to be meticulous. Next to her sat a young girl with blond hair and blue eyes. Her spiritual link was a proud white peac0ck squatting quietly on the owner’s shoulder.

“Paulie?” Tristana was a little surprised.

Lin Dongliang: “Do you know her?”

Tristana nodded: “The chief of Averio Guide Academy, S-level rating in the high-level guide. The Guide Military Department has been trying to win over her for a long time, but.” Tristana’s eyes turned cold, “Her ambition seems to be a little bigger.”

“She obviously has the ability to hide her spiritual link, but she doesn’t hold back.” Lin Dongliang sighed helplessly, “Her peac0ck can’t wait to open its tail.”

Tristana didn’t speak, but her expression had already given the answer. Mrs. Berlin seemed to be talking to the Olympus envoy about something, and it took a long time before she paid some attention.

“General Lane.” Mrs. Berlin nodded. The deep lines of authority on her already stern face add a touch of seriousness. Her eyes glanced at Tristana contemptuously, “It seems you got up in a hurry that you forgot to wash your face.”

Tristana replied with a smile like a flower, “You seem to have forgotten to take off your makeup before going to bed. This is not good; you will get old quickly.”

       Mrs. Berlin: “…”

Lin Dongliang was not familiar with the publicist sent by Olympus this time, but the guide who followed him… At first glance, it looked like he had just gone through the terrible torture of bonding heat.

Because the late Emperor Helu was weak and incompetent, Olympus openly formed a federation in the early days of his reign. The earlier ‘Black Rose’ incident revealed Olympus’s ever-increasing ambitions.

Olympus calls itself—’The Land of the Gods’.

“Tristana is already here.” Skarter followed Moschery. The young emperor took off his cloak and threw it to his butler as he walked, “With her here, Olympus doesn’t dare to be too arrogant.”

“But Berlin is here too.” Moschery said coldly, “Hmph…she has been a professional pimp for 100 years. Don’t you think I should give her an award?”

Skarter pursed his lips and muttered, “At least our Secretary of State is here too… Two to two, if we really fight, we won’t lose.”

“Lin Dongliang?” Moschery frowned, “What’s he doing here, trying to join in the fun?”

“Oh, don’t worry, Your Majesty.” Skarter was very proud, “We made a small spiritual mark before… You should understand that the relationship between me and the Secretary of State has always been very good.”

Of course, Moschery knew the relationship between his left and right hands. He was too lazy to answer Skarter’s criticism and directly raised his chin to the guard officer standing outside the conference room.

       “Open the door.”

Qin Yun was brushing his teeth in the bathroom when his System automatically popped up the holographic image. The person on the other side of the screen didn’t mind whether he was listening or not and said to himself, “Do you have time off? If you do, come and help… Oh no, don’t move!”

A huge fur ball jumped in front of the image and raised its tail.

“Sweetheart!” Shen Zhuofan roared, “Get down here!”

Qin Yun wiped the water droplets from his face and greeted Shen Zhuofan shirtless, “Good morning.”

Shen Zhuofan had no time to pay attention. He was pulling a dark brown Maine Coon cat, trying to get it off the communication device.

“Okay sweetheart.” Qin Yun smiled, “I’ll go see you later.”

The Maine Coon cat called Sweetheart meowed and obediently put away its paws.

“Damn…” Shen Zhuofan said depressedly, “Who the hell usually raises him? The thing that eats inside and outside!”

Qin Yun didn’t answer. He turned his back to find his shirt. Shen Zhuofan glanced at the other person’s back and suddenly froze in place, “You…”

“What?” Qin Yun put on a vest. He lowered his head to find something and muttered, “Where is my coat…”

Shen Zhuofan’s expression was gloomy and uncertain. He stared at Qin Yun’s shoulder blades, opened his mouth several times, and said with some difficulty, “You this time…”

“What’s wrong?” Qin Yun had already put on his coat and turned around. He turned the collar outward and said in a relaxed tone, “What do you want to eat? I’ll bring it to you.”

“…” Shen Zhuofan took a deep breath and muttered, “Forget it…”

       Qin Yun: “??”

Shen Zhuofan: “I want to eat golden sea rabbit stew.”

Qin Yun: “…Are you going to bankrupt me, you bastard?!”
